Starting point is 00:00:03 Getting into yet another country artist, but this one in particular currently has the 31st most played track in the world. And interestingly enough, it's been 31 weeks since it's been on the charts. Now, what track am I specifically talking about? I'm talking about I never lie by Zach Top. That is, of course, a country artist. And when it comes to him just completely running up the numbers on the charts, he also is running up the numbers when he. comes to awards and accolades as he was the ACM new male artist of the year back in 2020 well this year he was nominated for ACM album of the year for cold beer and country music which this track is off

Starting point is 00:00:46 of as far as i never lie he was nominated for c m new artists of the year and he was discovery artists of the year at the 2024 music row awards and of course billboard had to come out and say that he is the future he is quote the future of the future of the future of the future of the world awards and of course billboard had to come out and say that he is the future of country music and he was recognized by rolling stone as one of the hottest acts right now so i ain't going to lie to you as far as praise across the board zach top has definitely been running it up as far as positive reception and of course when you go to his discography he's been active to the point where now he has a ep titled me and billy that's been released what that was released February 28th, 2025.

Starting point is 00:01:34 I keep saying 2025. This year. It was released this year, February 28th. I guess if you're listening in the future, it helps when I say the year. So anyways, Zach Top and Billy Strings had a me and Billy type of collab. There's three tracks. So it was a total of 11 minutes to 17 seconds. And it was released under Leo 33.

Starting point is 00:01:52 Now, that's the first time I ever seen anything like that. So, of course, I had to do my due diligence to look at what exactly did that mean? So when it comes to Leo 33, it's an independent record label based in Nashville, Tennessee, founded in April 2023 by industry veterans, Katie Dean and Rachel Fontenot, as both were former Universal Music Group Nashville executive. Now, that is very intriguing as far as what made them leave Universal to start their own label and not only start the own label, but start to have phenomenal artists as far as Zach Topp, when you come to the engagement factor finding a new artist in him having these successful tracks

Starting point is 00:02:36 on the charts i would be interested to see what they know about the music industry as far as how to cultivate a certain artist to have these type of ginormous hits on the charts i feel like that's very intriguing especially going from a big dog in the music label to making your own label and still having success from an artist because if you don't know having a popular artist is more of uh one it's it's more of a five to seven percent chance that that artist is going to blow up which is why labels usually sign a bunch of artists because the percentage is so low as far as having the successful artist as far as analytically right you could be the greatest artist in the world but the opportunity never meets the preparation well guess what now you are forever going to be uplifted

Starting point is 00:03:24 by whoever the successful artist is on that label so for zag top seems like he is a successful artist Leo 33 not seems like he is as when it comes to a rising country artist he has definitely proved himself to be the flagship artist for Leo's 33 to label so that's a huge deal in general and when it comes to Leo when it comes to Zach Topp and his overall discography and what he's done as far as his musical releases and the reception that he's garnered it seems like it's all been building up for quite some time because if you go to his discography he's been putting out music for a minute to the point where he's been putting out music since 2019 that's 2025 so safe to say that when people throw out the

Starting point is 00:04:10 whole oh he's an industry plant it's a very disingenuous especially when it's only to demean someone's hard work that they put in to ultimately receive and get the fruits of the labor right so his next plans as far as the upcoming tour right from May to October basically from May 1st to May 4th he's going to Terminal 5 in New York he's going to the film role the Phil Moore and then he's going to MGM Music Hall in Boston June 8th he's going to the CMA Fest in Nashville Tennessee June 22nd he's going to telleride Bluegrass Festival August 28th he's going to Madison Square Garden that is a huge accomplishment October 4th he's going to country calling 2025 and Ocean City and what else
