If you consider yourself an enthusiast of dark Victorian history, you probably already know about the age of spiritualism, the grizzly murders, the body snatchers. But I try to dig a little bit deeper. My name is Genevieve Mannion, hostess of My Victorian Nightmare. I wanted to tell you that last night,
I went to a midnight Marvel re-release,
and every Marvel movie is like three hours long.
And so what that means is I didn't get home
until like three in the morning.
When I realized that I'd be sleeping on my Helix mattress
in about five seconds once I parked the car,
oh man, I had the time of my life.
It's sort of like a siren song.
you know.
Yes.
Like sometimes sometimes it'll be like falling asleep on the couch downstairs and I'm like,
what am I thinking?
Like this is insanity.
I have a Helix mattress upstairs.
Why would I fall asleep here?
I think the same thing where I'm like, why did I pick this option?
And honestly, usually she is a siren to me, the helix mattress.
But after last night, I was like, I remember all too well all by myself.
I don't need you to lull me to sleep.
You don't even need it.
Yeah, you already know.
I will float there.
And as soon as I land, it's going to be dreamland.
Truth will set you free.
Yeah.
Yeah, if you want to have that experience yourself, you just get yourself a Helix mattress.

Remember when we'd start the show and you would immediately start yawning?
And I was like, can we not yawn like within the first 10 seconds?
And then I would have to cut it out.
Remember when we did when we actually record an episode, you felt asleep.
Yeah.
Okay, fuck you.
First of all, I don't remember it because I fell asleep.
I'll tell you as the only person who ever got to wait.
to sit with my bare eyeballs.
It was the funniest thing to ever happen.
I was like, I could leave right now.
Like, she wouldn't even know.
Do you know what's so funny is I thought about that this morning.
Because I also, we talked in an ad before this,
I didn't fall asleep to like 3.30 last night.
I couldn't sleep.
And I was so tired this morning.
And I was like, should I take a nap before we record?
And I was like, no.
And then I was like, what if it happens again?
Like I had this whole moment.
And then I thought, well, surely that wouldn't happen.
Now here you are fucking bringing it up.
because I'm, but see, I started it because I started yawning.
You see, I'm projecting my own.
I'll do it in like five seconds.
Into reality.
Yeah, we're both going to just fall asleep now.
We're elderly.
I don't know what's, I literally, I thought, I went to a Marvel midnight release last night.
And for the non-Marvel officiados, Christine.
Yeah, that's just me probably.
I don't, I don't know how much I don't want to assume, but I'm assuming you don't know what's going on here.
I don't.
I don't.
Thank you.
Remember years ago when we had shows in tax.
and everyone was going after our show to the theater and they were like, I'm going to go see Infinity War.
No, I don't remember that. I remember you experiencing that.
Yeah, it was hell. Everyone thought it was so funny. I remember you. I didn't think it was funny. I remember
thinking, oh God. Oh, they thought it was funny. I thought it was funny. I thought I was going to resent
this for the rest of their life. I remember like, okay, so when we were on tour, I would literally put in,
I'm not kidding, this is like so sec. I would put in Marvel movie release dates as my, I can't be on the road.
would be this day. This day is like a medical procedure that I'm having or Leonis birthday and I would be like, this is the day Antman comes out. And I was like, what? But it would say like, AM release. And I was like, what's AM? And you were like, oh, it's my day off. It's like, I have to be home. Because I see every, I see it every opening day with awesome. So for a while, I had the full release calendar on my calendar. I don't know how it happened, but I felt like really tapped in for a minute. I remember our booking agent Andrew. Like there was, of course,
Of course of any Marvel movie release in the, you know, before COVID, the only movie that should have absolutely not been fucking available with no conversation should have been Infinity War or Endgame.
Because those were like the ensemble movies that all the others had been leading up to.
And I was like, I remember him going, I'm so sorry, but you're going to be in Texas.
And I was like, no, no, no, you don't understand Andrew.
That's not going to happen.
And sure enough, I was in Texas.
And after the meeting.
Yeah, but you know, you actually said.
What?
Okay.
Okay.
That's fine.
I know.
Oh, God.
We're such suckers.
We're like, we said, no way, Andrew.
And he said, yes.
No, that's not what happened.
We said, okay.
People at our Texas show were, like, dressed like superheroes because they were going to go to the midnight movie, like, after.
Without us.
Oh, my God.
It was terrible.
Anyway, so for the people who are not of the MCU world, that was the last time that there was a big ensemble movie.
The next one is coming out in December.
It's been, like, seven years.
Oh, God.
Wow, it's been like a whole cicada cycle.
Yes, it's been a whole Jeepers creepers or something.
Wow.
But, so this is the equivalent of that movie.
And so to get people jazzed for the movie coming out in December,
they brought back those ensemble movies into the theater last night.
And so.
Oh, so you got to re-experience it.
And they added scenes that we never knew before that like, see, now the universe
brought you back free, but even better.
But even better.
But so now like all these scenes that we thought,
we knew, you know, as they were. Now they've changed in a certain way where it's like for the
storyline coming up. And like now we've got a new little sneak peek of like, oh, that's why that.
Anyway, so long story. I'm so out of sorts today because I assumed I'm 17 and staying out
at the theater until like two in the morning. It was like 2.30 and I went, I always stay up till
2.30. And then I'm like, that was 15 years ago, Christine. Like what? Something hit me like a Mack truck
on the way home. What was in the air last night? I don't know.
know, but I, like, Allison and I, on the way there, because we, I always see it with Allison,
and I would say 90% of the movies, we also see with our friend Christine.
Another Christine.
Christine number one, and she calls me Christine number one, so it's very confusing.
Yeah, it's exactly right, yeah.
And so all three of us were going, and Christine had already bought the tickets, and Allison
and I were driving there going, like, I don't think I'm going to be able to make it, because
it's a three-hour movie, and we're starting at 11 at night.
And that is, you're on the way to the movies, and you're like this.
I was like, at that point, I'm already in my.
my pajamas. There's no getting me out of the house. I don't know how you do that. I don't know how you do that.
That's a remarkable. If there weren't a never before seen scenes, I wouldn't have done it.
But I needed to know. Yeah, yeah, I get that. No, I would have and I like, for a special event,
I would absolutely, but I would be in the same boat of like, why am I doing this the entire time.
We kept looking at each other like, are you okay? Are we awake? Yeah.
Anyway, so that that's why I'm tired. And that's honestly why I drink this week. I was very excited to go.
and I got to say some of like the greatest moments in Marvel movies, I got to see them in theaters again and I got to watch everyone like react to it.
With your friend, Christine and with Allison, that's really nice.
It was nice.
Like the first time anyone saw it in theaters, like we all didn't know what was going to happen, but this time everybody knew.
And so we were like all kind of like whispering like the best lines and like everyone was cheering when there was like big fight scenes we knew were coming up.
So it was like a nice crowd moment.
Oh, I love that, though. That's a good vibe.
So it was very lovely.
What are you drinking?
I'm drinking. Thank you for derailing me because I couldn't stop. I don't know what's wrong with me.
I'm not derailing. I'm just adding another track to the, I'm just adding one of those push things.
That makes you go faster.
I'm drinking, I think, like, half a gallon of iced tea is the biggest cup of the R's in my life.
I've got my bisexual coffee again. So we're just back to the, we're back to the pumpkin spice from my fridge.
Because by the way, oh, it's Sweat-Oweather.
I had to tell you what. Oh, M. You're missing it. I'm sorry. I know every year right around this week, right, before Leona's birthday, right? As like the temperature. And I'm like, I forgot. I forgot. A chilled on my spine. A literal chill and a literal and a metaphorical chill down my spine. And it's just like fall. It's happening. And I'm sorry. I don't want to rub it in. I don't. But I just had to say it one time because it hit yesterday and I went, it's happening. Let me live vicariously three. You have to tell me.
me what your very first sweater of sweater weather is going to be? I already wore it. It was my
horseshoe one. And I was like, this is so cute. It was a little horseshoe. And I walked, I went out
for a taco. And I walked down the street. Just one? What's wrong with you? Just one? You went out for a
literal bite. That's crazy. No, I were, I mean, it came with three, but I like went out for tacos. Yeah.
And I went and the first thing someone said, this girl goes, I love your horseshoe sweater. And I went,
it's a good day.
I didn't do that.
I said, oh, thanks.
But, you know, in my, in my heart, I was like, oh.
That's like how in my heart I was like, Andrew, I'm not fucking going to Texas.
I was like, what were we just saying that had a very similar tone to it?
Yeah.
So it was really nice.
And I walked around my neighborhood and it was like, ooh, breezy.
And then it's fun with little man.
That's what I'm calling GIO because he's right there.
And I can't, he can't be tolerated today.
He's really driving me nuts.
and he likes to walk when it's cool because when it's hot he like won't walk and he's like a big baby like me
because it's his own sweater weather he's so sweater weathered already and so we walked around and
I was like oh it's happening so there's a brief you know this nice little window before it gets chilly
but it like it's good it feels nice feels nice got to be honest he said little man and I thought
ant man again but he's a little man as far as I can tell from context clues I think nearly a
Small as an ant, some might say.
Unless it's ironic, but I'm not sure.
So, you know, I've never seen it.
You know what the ironic part is that I think you'd find funny?
Because in my mind, when Ant Man was created, someone was on trumes and they went, now wait,
this would be fucking so funny.
Is that he's Ant May where he becomes a size of an aunt.
But he can't do it all the time.
But every now and then he can reverse the thing that makes him small and he can become
giant.
See, that's when you know.
Someone with a mental illness also on shrooms.
Someone on shrooms.
had exacerbated their own mental illnesses by mistake.
That's a situation where like, if two of us were in a basement together and you said
that to me, I'd go, dude, we have to write that in.
Like, we just cracked the code of the universe.
Like, ant is in the word giant.
Giant.
I mean, that's good.
Remarkable.
I mean, it's really, it's really something.
That's what sucked me into the MCU, I think.
I was like, no, that's funny.
Now that's good.
Now that's good.
Well, is there, is the reason you drink because of sweat-of-weather?
It's sweat-a-weather, and it's because I just like, ooh, I don't know.
Spooky.
I feel, yeah, I feel like the change in the air, and it's nice.
It's a nice shift.
It's been a long summer.
It's felt like a really long effing summer to me.
You're telling me, especially in L.A.
I say.
I say.
I say.
Yeah, and you're just in the smog always, but.
Well, I have compersion for you.
Oh, what's compersion again?
I always forget what that word means.
I hope I'm using it right.
Polly people tell me otherwise.
but apparently it's a good word it's a phrase often used I think in poly circles okay it's when it's like
the it's like the opposite of jealousy or it's like just general just happiness for someone
oh yes oh it's the opposite of like schadenfreude where you're like not happy that someone's
yeah something like that poly people like her but you're like you're like you're oh no it's when you like are
pleased by someone else's like you're happy for the enjoyment of an experience yeah like you like
You like to, you feel enjoyment of watching someone else enjoy something.
Yes.
So if I can't have sweat of weather, I have compersion for you that you get that.
Oh, that's nice.
Yeah.
I appreciate that.
Well, I will try to live, live it to the fullest, you know?
Stay cozy.
That's all I need.
That's my only request.
I got my little blanket.
I got my momster Halloween shirt.
Man, I'm just really feeling the vibes, you know.
I got to be honest.
Christine, Lena, this is important.
Lean in?
That's like one of my favorite shirts.
You ever worn.
Thank you.
I've worn it so much that it's like falling apart, which I kind of love.
It reminds me in my hankies shirt.
that's purple with the green writing.
You have the same, because these are your favorite colors, yeah.
Well, it's sad because Leona has one that says mama's little, what is to say?
But she, it's like size two.
Something like that, but it's like size two T's there.
She hasn't been able to wear it four years.
But like, here I am still wearing my version.
And she's just like cooler than me now, you know.
She's like, I literally wouldn't match with you for a thousand dollars.
She's like never outfits matching outfits again.
Nice try.
Yeah.
Well, I'm very, I almost said jealous of you.
I'm going to try to switch it.
I have compers for you with your swear weather.
Oh, that's so.
Is this like a new thing?
What if I had shot in Florida because you're just so hot over there?
No, I don't.
I don't have that.
I mean, if you did, I'd understand because this is someone's hell and it's actually mine.
Because I lived there once and I don't really want to bring that carmic justice back to me, you know?
I will tell you, I don't know what's going on over here, but this is the year of mosquitoes.
Because usually California doesn't have a lot of bugs, but here the mosquitoes.
That's like the one thing I loved about being there in the summer.
Something happened.
I don't know what it is, but like I'm getting eaten alive.
I'm used to not wearing pants because I'm like, well, there's never going to be any bugs near me.
Oh, no.
Anyway, wish me luck.
My knees are struggling.
Do you know the, oh, the knees, you know the worst?
The behind the knee.
You know, when you get bug bites and then you're like, but I was wearing layers and you're like, they got in there.
Oh, it makes me want to just die.
It makes me want to die.
It makes me want to die.
And then I'm like, why did I get three bug bites under my pants?
I'm going to die.
Oh, my God.
Oh, it's over for me.
Oh, it's just flopping around in there.
Oh, it's just like buzzing around in my pants.
God damn it, Christine, but you're right.
Help!
Call the police!
Remember the last time you were recording?
I was like, stop everything.
There's a mosquito.
And I like killed it.
Oh, and I had a pet.
Yeah, I was like, everybody.
Everybody stay calm.
Now that it's officially October, everybody, spooky season is upon us.
And that means within the next 30 days, I'm bound to see what's going on in this spooky
that Allison's been creating.
It's happening, isn't it?
And I'll tell you, the only thing I know that is in there.
is the fireplace that I got from Wayfair.
Can I tell you something?
What?
I bought my own one.
Isn't it incredible?
I was like, I can't believe it never occurred to me.
And then you bought one.
And the more I thought about it, I was like, wait a minute.
I can't live without this.
And now in my videos, you can see it's like right next to me.
It's so cute.
It's so cute.
And it's spooky.
At least mine is.
It's so pretty.
And it didn't require any like set up.
I was like, what am I doing?
How have I lived this long?
Anyway, yeah.
So I'm really excited for the tour of the spooky.
You know as much as I do.
At this point out that you know what the fireplace looks like.
Yeah, I might know more, actually, now that I have one of my own.
Exactly.
So if you want your own spooky little fireplace, the first piece of your own Spook Easy or Christine's videos.

Well, I have a story for you.
I don't know if you remember, but this is somewhat of a part two because I certainly don't.
I thought I might.
And then as you said it, my mind went, whew.
You'll remember quickly, I think, though.
Because last week we spoke about the Wolf Creek Inn.
Mm-hmm.
And if you recall, the only reason I ever ended up there was because I was originally
going to do the Pioneer Saloon.
Ah, yes.
And I was learning about Clark Gable and Carol Lombard and their relationship.
And I was like, ah, this story.
Like, I'm not feeling it yet.
And so I went to look up best Ghost Adventures episodes.
And it led me to Wolf Creek Inn, where they talked about Clark Gable and Carol
Lombard again.
Oh, the weird, like synchronicities.
Yeah, that weird crossover.
I was like, what the fuck?
So then I decided they have to be a twofer.
So.
Fantastic.
Last week was Wolf Creek in this time around as the Pioneer Saloon, which was
supposed to tag me
less.
Whatever.
That feels like
what I want to call my
house, you know?
The Pioneer Saloon?
Like that's the vibe.
Pioneer Saloon.
Like that's the vibe I want.
I certainly,
and you know what?
I'm just going to empower you
really quickly because
just because you're not drinking
doesn't mean something
can't be a saloon.
I'm having a fucking
speakeasyy put in my house.
Thank you so much.
That's such a reassuring statement
coming from someone who doesn't drink.
You can have a saloon.
I don't give a shit.
I love that.
Just sounds fun.
Who cares?
I don't give a shit.
Get a saloon.
You know what rhymes with saloon?
balloons and that's fun too. Holy crap. You just cracked something else wide open. Christine Schiefer,
I need you to have a balloon saloon in your house. I mean, I think I already do. It's called Leona
learned about keepy upy and it's my fucking nightmare. I guess anything's a balloon saloon as long as
you're in a party city, you know? We do have so many effing balloons in this house. But yeah,
we could do a balloon saloon and I'm not going to hate on it. I'm not. I mean, clowns and
cowboys, that's literally you and me. It's written in the star.
You have the saloon. I'll make the balloon animals in the corner.
Oh, it's fate.
Easy.
So Wolf Creek in, I already talked about the odd connection between these locations, but this one happens to be in Good Springs, Nevada.
Fun fact, it was originally, so Good Springs is one word, but originally it was called Goods spring because the founder of the town was Joseph Good.
This is annoying. He's awful. So it was...
He's like semantically like, no, it's my sense.
spring and everyone's like can we not be like weird about it yeah please your name is good like it's
just going to be good spring exactly please um this is where i'd also like to tell you that because it was
in good springs Nevada were you and I not just in Nevada was I not driving all around were we have
oh yeah oh yeah we were like a few days ago could I have ended up in the pioneer saloon on my way to a
wedding I guess and I did so I've been here now you did yeah sorry geo sorry I woke him so Megan there's
pictures um
Shut up.
But I did go.
I'll show you along the way.
I thought you were going to say like this was a really disastrally sad, like missed
opportunity.
I did not expect the good news to come from this.
I literally as I was plotting out the GPS locations, I was like, let me just see.
And it was literally like only 15 minutes out of the way.
That is so crazy.
Weird.
We stopped and got a soda and a peanut butter pie.
Nice.
Ooh.
Ooh.
I'll show you pictures along the way.
Don't worry.
Don't worry.
What do you think of?
think this isn't a fucking prezy?
You think I can't fucking.
A Canva presentation?
Where are we?
Visual.
Multimedia visuals.
Multimedia presentation.
Thank you for knowing what I'm capable of.
Except I can't find it yet.
So we're going to have to figure that out.
Oh my God.
Blaze just sent me this picture of Leona made a little card for her friend Wilder, her best
friend Wilder and says, to Wilder from Leona.
I love you.
So cute.
Oh.
precious. And Wilder's a great name. Oh, he's great. He's so funny. He's like, he just like yells at me a lot. And his favorite coach pink. Wilder is like the most Kentucky name I've ever heard. Well, there is literally a town next to me called Wilder, Kentucky. And I'm like, well, but he doesn't live there. I don't think. Do they know about that? I guarantee he was born Wilder, Kentucky. I don't think he was. I don't know. Could be. Look at that sweet little picture.
She just started writing a little bit.
Oh, yeah, she learned how to read.
So now writing is right around the corner.
Oh, my gosh.
I heart you.
Oh, that's precious.
Wilder.
They're so cute together, little buddies, little best friends.
They're doing a preschool play together.
And Leona said, I get to be, Leona and Wilder.
She's like, I get to be the purple butterfly.
And I was like, yeah, well.
Was she actually cast out or did she just decide her part?
I thought she decided her part.
And she goes, oh, Ms. Phillips pulled it out of the bag.
and it was said purple butterfly and I went okay the universe handed you that one I think yeah what's what's
wilder oh I don't fucking know oh my god that'd be so fun with their butterflies together oh I'm sure he
probably would like they like would probably beat each other up and be like precious anyway go on sorry
anyway here is me and alison at the pioneer saloon I want everybody to know I'm aware of my hair but
there's just no turning back and fixing this so there's us oh oh look at that cool picture
I look electrocuted, but we're going to ignore that.
Are you wearing Spice Girls shirt?
I like it.
You know, I had the nerve in this town where it was clearly a bit of a red town.
I was like, I'm going to go in the men's bathroom.
I obviously pass.
And I was wearing a fucking Spice Girl shirt and a phone lanyard.
With a phone lanyard.
I was like, there's no way on earth that I ever.
Everyone was probably so confused.
What they don't tell me in the notes about Pioneer Saloon.
So let me just tell you some boots on the ground journalism here.
Ah, yes.
I got to hear the first person account.
They have a massive giant of a pioneer crouching in front of the saloon.
And I guess he's panning for gold, but I didn't.
Oh, yeah, don't be crouching though, you know.
Oh, uh, uh, and so then don't be crouching like that, man.
This is all of us, having fun.
Whoa, he's threatening.
Allison's not having fun.
Well, she's pretending.
Everyone's hot.
Oh, dear.
He's really having a, he looks like he has caught, like.
Thank you.
What?
Yeah.
I'm with you. You're right. Thank you for saying that because I thought I was alone. No, you're not. So, okay, that's the Pioneer Saloon. We know her well now. We know the Pioneer at least. So it is one of Nevada's oldest bars. It's been around since 1913, which makes it this year 113 years old. And this, that means the town, the bar was actually around before the most of the town was created. Like I think even the state of Nevada hadn't been established yet, I don't think.
Dang.
This was built by George Fale,
which is so funny that like your last name's
fail, but you're gonna like...
Remember the other guy was good.
What was it? Good, what? Good spring.
He failed spring.
Oh, that's funny.
Like, these could be fun and they, instead,
they choose to be boring.
Why are they narcissists?
They could have really judged it up.
Like, life is so much more fun
when you just get, like, creative with it, you know?
Like, it's not hard. Like, just do it.
Like, lean into it. Just fuck it.
Fuck it up.
That's so annoying.
Yeah.
He built it when the area became
successful mining town. I cannot escape these fucking mining stories. I'm so sorry, everybody.
I'm not trying to do this on purpose. Take one of those little carts. We're just stuck in one
forever. It's a loop. The whole track's a loop. This was mainly used by local miners in their off time.
One design element of this bar, which I thought was fun, was the bar top itself was built.
Oh, this is the part where it predates the state of Nevada. The bar top itself predates Nevada,
because it was built in the 1800s at some point before Nevada had been established. So that's cool.
So people are literally drinking.
So people were drinking at a, there was a bar at the counter there.
There was like a counter before there was a state of Nevada.
That's so cool.
Yeah.
So it was built in Maine.
And then I guess like, what I think is so funny is when like in the country just in a different state, they'll say like we imported it from Maine.
And I'm like over there.
From part over there.
From on a truck.
Yeah.
It's like, oh, okay.
I mean, I guess we brought it from one side of the country to the other and the 1800s.
And like if you're in Europe, it's like, well, you're importing from.
countries that are like an hour away.
But yeah, it is, yeah.
It just feels silly.
And I'm sure it's not, but it feels silly.
But so it was in Maine.
Then they brought it over here when they decided to build the bar.
So the bar and the bar is still the same bar today.
Wow.
Another design element is the installation on the walls and ceilings of stamped tin tiles.
I love that.
I love when they do that.
Still there from 1913.
And these tiles were actually from a Sears catalog.
I fucking love that.
Love that.
And they're thought to be some of the very last stamped tin walls left in the country.
That's so neat.
So since we've been there, this is the bar when you walk in.
I love a ceiling.
Stamped ceiling.
I love a tin.
Look how bar.
Look how, like that's cool.
That looks like a pioneer saloon.
There's also a bunch of like, I don't understand this picture as soon as you walk in.
There's a little girl smoking with a chicken.
Wow, that's sure.
And I went, I guess anything's possible here.
Yeah, what's there to understand.
It's just kind of what it is what it is.
Like, who am I to judge, right?
Who are you, right?
The original furnace is still there and they have it like blocked off.
The fuck.
Isn't that crazy?
Yeah.
And then this was another, I tried to get a picture of the ceilings and the walls to have the tin.
Oh, wow. Oh, I love the walls.
Oh, my gosh.
That's a great picture, too.
Thank you.
And the floor is original as well.
The floor is neat.
Everything's pretty similar to it was like, it looks.
old school. That's awesome. Thank you.
Put it in myself.
Yeah. So one famous event that happened here, 1915, two years into this place being open,
there's a card game, a poker game, gone wrong between two of the minors and their off time,
named Paul and Joe. They've been playing poker for a few days. Paul is winning nonstop for multiple
days. And Joe's like, I fucking smell something fishy. I don't know how he figured it out. I don't even
know if he just suspected it and that was enough for him but paul wins another game and joe is
fucking over this it's it oh no so he pulls out his big old gun and he shoots at paul six times
certainly certainly kills him too many certainly kills him three of those bullet holes
uh went into the wall of the bar and are still there today the tin wall oh my god yes in the tin wall
Holy crap.
And I don't know if you can see
and oh, where's my finger?
And this one right here,
you can see how there's like a little white dot in there.
Yes.
That's actually light from the other side of the building.
No way.
You can still put your eye up to it and see right outside.
No way.
But so there's one two and then the little one over there.
Look at them and they're so close together.
Yeah.
Boom, boom, boom.
Boom, boom.
So you know exactly what direction Paul was sitting in.
That's crazy.
Yeah, that's really weird to see that.
Isn't it weird?
I was,
I literally, I had heard about the bullet holes before I ever knew I was going to go there.
So when I went there, I went and right up to the bartender and I was like, where are the holes?
And she went, show me the hole.
She went, they're over there.
She went, I'm calling the police.
So then, okay, so that's like the first, like, confirmed death we know of.
Apparently there's another death of a minor named like C.J something or C.P. something.
But we don't really hear his story.
This one is too good because there's still evidence of it.
Yeah.
Sorry, guy.
Sorry, guy.
You got to die more interesting, I guess.
You can try harder next time.
also which I didn't pay attention this because I was so fixated on finding the bullet holes
apparently also on these walls are like memorabilia from that era including allegedly
the playing cards used during that game when Paul died so like
I love how the second he dies they're like all right put it in the behind the glass case this is
going to be a relic it's very similar to the John Mullini bit where it's like scoop them up put
them on the wall yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah put it make it decor make it decor what the fuck um
They also have on the wall a framed coroner's report of his death.
What the fuck?
They're just like creating a little museum.
They're like,
sounds like Zach Bagan's.
This is history that happened here.
So put it on the wall.
I guess.
Which like,
I mean,
if you're thinking about this place being haunted,
think of like the energy that that holds,
you know?
Yeah,
if you're like putting the death coroner's report up there to remind everybody every day.
Even worse.
I did not pay attention to this.
I should have and gotten a picture of it,
but I did not.
Apparently one of the tables in there is still the table.
from 1915 that they played the fucking poker game at and he died on now him's going to say and apparently
he's still sitting slumped over in his chair i'm not kidding and you can take a selfie oh wait do
remember that minor we all saw crouching outside that's actually his fucking dead body and we all took a
selfie together he was just in rigor mortis out there yeah that's why he's a little blue
fucking corpse like yeah that explains it just get worse and worse you're just like it's just nuts yeah
To have the cards.
Do they have like the winning hand, you know, or like the cheating hand?
I wonder if they ever found out if he was cheating afterward, you know, if they ever checked.
Who would know?
I mean, also like if you found out he wasn't, you'd feel like garbage.
Oops.
Whoops.
But you're right.
I do keep listing things.
I'm like, and then the waiter wears his clothes, you know?
Yeah, exactly.
I'm like, what's next?
It's all so disturbing.
So, okay, that's event number one that leads to like haunted backstory.
Sure.
Number two, as we've discussed before, is this just.
This couple, Clark Gable and Carol Lombard.
Oh, they're just flitting around.
They won't leave me the fuck alone for several weeks now.
So, fuck alone.
Get away.
Get the fuck away.
So 1942, we know it well.
These actors who are now in love with each other, it's said that they originally started
as an affair, but then when he divorced, they, she got married.
They used to, I guess, come to this area a lot and they were supposed to meet nearby.
Clark had already flown in and he was waiting for Carol.
Carol Lombard, his wife, to meet him there.
She was up to something on that plane where she was doing something with her mom and she was volunteering or doing something with stock bonds, like selling stock bonds.
She was doing something.
I don't, it doesn't matter for this story.
So I kind of just floated right past it.
But she is on the plane.
Her and her mom are going to go meet Clark Gable.
Mm-hmm.
And they're flying right over the nearby Potosi Mountains.
And I guess the plane did not lift up.
in time and didn't miss it.
Let's put it that way.
And everybody on board died.
There was, I think, 22 people on board.
Jesus.
I hate those stories.
Even worse, like, certainly the most gut-wrenching when you think, like, the person
you love should have met you a while ago and she was supposedly on a plane.
And then you find out there was a plane crash in the area.
Jesus.
And there's no phone or internet.
You just have to do the old school fucking wait and see.
Jesus.
Clark Gable just hung out at the Pioneer Saloon.
because the Pioneer Soolooloolooland was the closest
operating business next to the mountains.
It was only like five miles away from the mountains.
And so it became the base camp for search and rescue.
Oh, no.
And then like, yeah, you're right.
Like, think about that fucking energy of like waiting to find out if you're...
If the person you love is dead, if your mother-in-law's dead.
Oh, the stress.
Oh, my God.
And so another interesting about this bar top that is allegedly older than Nevada itself.
He sat at that bar for like at least three days, just drinking nonstop.
to just try to soothe his anxiety.
I am assuming chain smoking,
but smoked enough that while he sat there,
the ashes fell onto the bar top long enough
that to this day there are very deep divvits in the bar
where it burned through the bar.
Let me show you.
You have a pick.
This is crazy.
This shit is crazy.
I literally told the woman sitting there.
I was like, I'm going to take a picture.
I was like, I need you to move your drink.
I'm turning the flash on.
Oh, yeah, move your Shirley Temple.
I need a picture.
So those two little dots.
are the spots that Clark Gable
had his cigarette ash.
Dude, that's crazy. That is crazy.
It's even crazier that that woman was just sitting
her drink there. And she's like, oh yeah, that's where Clark Gable
found out his wife died. Like, that's crazy.
The ashes of his cigarette. Oh, my God. I mean,
that's very poetic.
Very poetic. So he's just waiting and waiting to find out that she's dead.
He eventually does find out.
The rumored story is that he then took her body
maybe on a fucking plane to get to another location back home or something.
But we never hear about them again.
We just know the story of him waiting to find out.
Well, you didn't want them to fucking bother you anymore.
Now you're,
are you happy now?
Jesus.
I finally told the story.
And just like the memorabilia of like that poker card death is all over the walls,
there's also Clark Gable memorabilia and Carol Lombard memorabilia all over the walls.
It's a weird assortment until you realize each like theme has like a story behind it.
Yeah, and it's all very bleakable.
bleak.
Yeah, it's all very bleak.
Yeah. So anyway, that's another part of the story.
Fun fact, you know, I'm famous for fun facts.
In her very last movie before she died, her character literally has a line that says,
what could happen on a plane?
Shut the fuck up.
And the producers obviously cut that line because they were like, I, for good reason,
we can't put that in.
Wow, it hadn't even been released yet.
Oh my God, that's crazy.
So, so those are the two main.
events that people talk about is the two of them.
Wow.
I'm just going to go into the ghosts now.
Women see, there's a, sorry, there's a woman seen walking around the bar looking
for somebody, which is probably, they thank Carol Lombard looking for Clark to tell.
She made it in a different, oh, God, M, that's horrible.
Or to say goodbye or something horrible.
Like projecting herself there. Oh, oh, M, that's so sad. What the fuck.
I mean, think of like the last energy you have on earth is your husband just, like,
like desperate to know where you are and you finally get there.
Like the last thing you think is like, oh, he's going to be so upset and scared and sad.
And then it's like, yeah, oh, geez.
Oh, geez, that's so dark.
We don't know for sure it's her.
But I mean, there's only one famous woman and one famous story at this place.
So yeah.
Yeah.
It's associated with her.
People also see a guy maybe in bloody clothes.
That was only in one source.
So I don't know if that was just like artistic license here.
But they see a man randomly hovering around the poker tables.
poker chips will move.
People feel like someone
tapping on their shoulders.
They'll feel like things on the table move
while they're playing.
And I guess, I mean, it's a small bar.
Like, there's two rooms.
There's, you walk in and then you're in the main bar spice.
If you turn the corner, there's like a dining room area.
But you can, if you're the bartender,
you can see every table very easily from where you are.
It's not that big.
Right.
I would say it's actually probably as big as like your,
living room and kitchen combined.
Like it's,
you can see everything.
Like,
yeah,
like a big open space kind of.
Yeah.
Um,
so my guess is that from the corner of your eye,
you think it's just like another patron walking by until you realize he's maybe
in like older clothes or something or yeah.
And covered in blood.
You're covered in blood.
Don't you know it?
Or like I imagine you think there's like four people at the table and then you look
again, there's only three.
Something like that.
Right, right, right.
Um, people see a shadow figure at the bar.
When that happens, they also smell cigar smoke.
They see smoke moving around them, but nobody is allowed to smoke in this place anymore.
They think this figure might be one of the former owners who allegedly died at the bar,
which I don't know what that story is, but crazy.
People have seen drinks slide across the bar by themselves.
They've heard a piano playing when there's no piano there anymore.
They've heard laughter, footsteps, banging.
They've seen chairs moving.
One of the most common sounds is that in the woman's bathroom,
which again is in this little section that I just told you about it's very easy to get to and if there's a sound coming from there everyone would hear it um it's a woman sobbing in the bathroom like uncontrollably to a point where people have thought she was like having a mental breakdown oh no um and people like run in to go help her and nobody's there oh no oh no do they know who that is
i i think they also think that's carol lombard because like she's just devastated that she didn't make it in time but zach beagans has his own fucking theory don't
worry. Oh, wouldn't, what a surprise. What a shock. Please fucking hold. Also, I'll tell you, I went to
the bathroom there. That's a small fucking bathroom. Like, if you don't, it's like us stall. Like,
you open, you go, if someone's in there, they can't run away or anything. It's like a one person
situation. Yeah. Also, I went to the boys bathroom because remember I thought I could pass in
my spice girl shirt in my lanyard. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And you, you did, I'm sure. Man,
it smells like pee in there. Yucco. It doesn't feel like the cleanest bathroom I've ever been in. But
whatever um the girls bathroom i don't know i all i heard was that there's a really loud crying
ghosts in there and i went i'll take the boys bathroom you said i'll wear my spice girl's shirt over
here thank you no one'll know all right honey love has this sports bra and it's different from other
sports bras trust me i've tried all of them um i don't know about if you know this about me now but i
um have a strength trainer now and i go twice a week and it's like not a big deal but i you know i'm
just getting swall and so you know i do i do need sports bras and honey
now makes one, which is amazing. And it feels like a sports robot. It's actually designed to wear all day.
So I can like go to my training station and then go to Costco, do whatever I got to do.
And it doesn't do like, you don't have to do all the like crazy wrestling to get into it.
Like, please, no. It's got wireless support using cloud fuse bonding. Please.
Hell yeah.
Say it ain't so. No, it's extremely. Hell yeah, brother. It's extremely comfortable and they don't
give you that like uniboub, you know, that some sports bras do. Also important. So yeah, love it.

Staff have also felt temperature drops.
And by temperature drops, I mean like gusts of wind.
They have seen very heavy doors slam themselves open and close.
And I, the doors are not light.
people also swear that they've seen a guy in a wrinkled beaten of cowboy hat so they assume that he is from an older time period people have seen the phone ring when it's unplugged yikes they have seen smoke wrap around them as if trying to like constrict them or hug them ew ew you don't do that and people have heard especially staff when they're closing they'll hear heavy heavy heavy bootsteps in a way where like they'll come out multiple times to make sure someone isn't still in the bar
yuck
I talked to a bartender there
and I was like
I'm really into the ghost thing
what do you got for me
and I mean she really didn't hold back
and I don't think they hold back at all at this place
she was straight up like this place is so
fucking haunted and not
not in a way where we pretend it's not haunted
everybody here knows it's haunted and when you start
working here they tell you immediately it's haunted if you can't
handle that it's just part of it wow
she said that they literally they have
security cameras running all the time
and if anything creepy or spooky ever happens,
they just, without any other words,
they just text the manager time codes
to have him check the ghosts.
Shut the fuck up.
That's so cool.
That's so cool.
She was like, he just knows.
If I just sent him a time code,
he knows it's about ghosts.
That's so cool.
One video she showed me.
She showed me two videos on her own personal phone.
One was of the door right next to the bullet holes.
Okay.
Yeah.
Heavy.
It literally just flies open.
by itself and then pauses as if someone's holding it and walking through and then it closes itself
and if you if you pause it at the right moment there is a full fucking face standing right there
like like someone's just walking this is on her phone on her phone like she got it oh dude
that gave her she got it on her sorry she showed me on her phone the i guess she sent the time
code because she was there by herself and the door flew open by itself and then paused and
closed and she was like what the fuck is that i'm by myself and then time code sent that to her
Oh, dude.
So she showed me the footage on her phone that he sent her.
That's even creepier somehow.
I don't know.
That's just yucky.
But if you pause it,
there really is a face right there as if someone just walked right through.
Forget it.
The other video she showed me,
the second one,
was the bartenders are like holding drinks.
Like,
you know when they have like the soda gun?
Yeah,
yeah.
Just having the soda gun.
And then they're like talking where like there's a cup in this hand,
a soda gun in this hand.
And you can't make it up.
It's clear someone.
went bam like slammed the drink and it just flies out of her hand while her hand stays like this.
Whoa.
And her arm doesn't move or anything but clearly someone just went bam and like threw it onto the
ground from her hand.
What the fuck, dude?
And then she like the bartender, you could see the bartender go, oh, oh, no, no, just
like her hand still there.
The person I talked to again, I don't know who you are, what your name was.
You were very helpful to me.
You had a camo and orange hat on.
You were very lovely.
I wish I knew your name.
I'm so sorry.
This is like a misconnections.
Misconnections.
You were wearing an orange hat.
You were wearing an orange camo hat and you were very kind.
She also said that the general store right next door is even creepier.
Like to a point where she is like, I won't even go over there by myself when I first started working.
They were creepy than this place?
She was like, there's something over there where I will not be over there by myself.
And she said when she first started working there, they literally had to hire.
They already had, I guess, people on staff, but like on their days.
off. They would have to like pay them extra to come in just to be with her while she closed because
she refused to be alone. I don't blame her. I don't blame her at all. I'd be like keep that going for
the rest of my time here. Um, so okay, now we're on to Ghost Adventures. Ghost Adventures, season nine,
episode one, uh, immediately Zach is very taken by the card table that is still there. He's taken by
the card. Yeah, he's, yeah, he's, he's, smitten. Yeah. He says it holds a bunch of
of energy, obviously.
And then of course, they show him...
Obviously.
Then they show him the bullet holes in the wall.
Oh, God.
And this is a quote from him.
Okay.
There are still open wounds that are like an open portal to the other side.
Now pause for the quote.
Zach looks in through them.
Don't.
And then the quote continues.
As you look inside these bullet holes from outside, what you see is a murder.
What could that possibly mean?
What could that possibly mean?
As you look through the bullet holes from the outside, what you see is a murder?
What?
I'll say again because it's so silly.
It reminds me of like in the office that episode where Andy is like your hand and my hand
and put it in our hand.
Because what Zach says is as you look inside these bullet holes from outside, what you see is murder.
What?
And yet part of me is like, yeah, that's probably true.
I don't know what it means, but it feels right.
I do get what he means, but he could have said it in 19 different ways.
Like, don't really have any concept.
As you look inside the bullet holes from the outside of the building.
Like when he should just said when you look through the bullet hole from outside the house.
Yeah.
Well, he should have said anything but that, but here we are, you know.
And then he does some weird B-roll where like for people who do.
B-roll is like just like that extra weird footage, like just random footage that like background
footage and stuff. While he's working, he has another guy just filming like random spots that he can
use in weird edits. By another guy, it's like Aaron. It's for sure Aaron. Yeah. Yeah.
So, okay, so this weird B-roll is as he's talking about inside, outside murders.
It's a close-up of these bullet holes. And then he clearly, I guarantee you he didn't even ask
permission for this. He clearly from the other side of the building, so when he's looking inside
from outside, he took like a syringe of fake blood and jelly or something and just, and just,
started pumping it out of so the holes would drip blood from the camera's perspective.
Wait, wait, wait.
What?
So he made the bullet holes bleed everywhere.
So he said, remember that cool thing I said about when you see murder through from the
outside and to the inside?
Yeah, this is going to really get the point across.
Give me some jello.
And the camera held on it for like way too long.
Like it was like, the point was made.
What it's called is, what it's called is lunacy.
It's sheer lunacy.
And it should stop.
He literally, like, I know he had some poor PA just like putting a bunch of sludge in the walls of this fucking building.
This historic building.
Literally, it's honest.
It's on a register of historic places.
And, but like, he was just, there's no way they clean that up or worried about if any of it got inside another's bugs or anything.
An antique tin wall.
They just dumped a gel.
A hundred thirteen year old wall.
And he went, let's just have jelly and blood pouring out of this thing.
Otherwise, no one will understand the depths of what I've just said about the murder from
the outside and the inside. How else will they know? Oh my God. I just, I watched it and I went, I know that
right out of view, you're just pushing a button and it was so gross. So dumb. So okay, the owner starts
talking about the woman who cries in the bathroom, who we all think is Carol Lombard. Right. Um, he says,
I especially believe this is Carol Lombard because three women came in on an investigation and they knew
that her stage name was Carol Lombard, but she actually had a different name, which was Jane Alice Peters.
and when they started talking to her,
they actually ended up getting evidence
when they used her real name
as if like finally this woman felt seen.
She was like, oh yeah, he responded to that.
Ooh.
And Zach's response is, well, what if it's just a prostitute?
In fact, he goes on,
here's the full...
Zachary!
Here's the full, incredibly random with...
Sit the fuck down, Zach.
Jesus, I can't.
Oh my God.
I thought he can't shock me anymore.
He's really nuts.
Go on.
I mean, like, let's remember that,
like the saddest story ever is that like like her husband was looking for her now she's looking
for her husband for eternity and they just miss each other now she's like maybe just sobbing in
the bathroom every night um Zach's like here I have an idea and he said actually she's a whore
that's what he just basically said here's what I've got to say and give me my jealous shot I mean really
so here's the full completely random no evidence backed theory from Zach Began's in a full
quote for you full random no evidence back theory okay I'm like he just
this came out of nowhere.
No one, as far as I know.
Top of the dome.
Straight off the dome.
As far as I know, nobody said,
Zach, give us your take.
But he said this.
Maybe one of the minors had sex with one of the prostitutes in the women's room.
Maybe the minor was being forceful or didn't have money, then strangled her, killed her in here with a knife,
and then carried her out of the bathroom and carried her somewhere in the desert.
Is he?
Okay.
He said it with a bravado I've never seen.
He needs to have.
The confidence.
Oh.
The confidence.
I'm like, is you, is you, are you, what is this?
Where are you coming?
It's fascinating.
Nobody said anything about anyone being stabbed in here.
Nobody said anything about a knife.
Nobody said people get carried in the desert.
No, maybe he's practicing some sort of like creative exercise, you know.
Like it just feels like he maybe was taught this at a writing retreat.
It just feels like totally at the top of the dome rando.
I feel like the day before he was in.
an improv class. He was like, I'm going to carry that into today for sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's like,
I get it. So then, completely separate from the walkthrough they do in this house, they decide they're
going to go to the crash site of the plane in the mountains. Oh, geez. Okay. Actually really fucking weird,
and I wouldn't have noticed if I didn't see the show. When they got closer and closer to that crash site,
the pieces of the airplane are still fucking there. Oh, no. I was worried you were going to say that.
The engine is just rusting there. Durbing, dude. And you know Zach took a
million selfies with it.
For sure.
I bet he took a piece
and put it in his
museum.
I'm sure he put it
in his museum.
You're totally right.
Because he's got that
whole celebrity room,
right?
No, he probably took the
entire fucking engine
with him.
Like, that's the shit
he does.
Yeah.
Or maybe he brought it
and said, oh my God,
here it is.
Oh my God,
look at this giant engine
that just fell off.
Yeah.
And then I had to send it
back to like the prop
rental place.
So,
okay, so they go to this
mountain site.
And the only eerie thing
is that the airplane
allegedly is all there.
Yeah.
they then go to a mine shaft for a while.
People say if they hear things in the mine shaft.
The crew is later told while they're back in the bar.
Oh, by the way, did you know that this bar is actually sitting on top of a mine shaft?
And then the owner just straight up picks up part of the floor to show them.
I did not know this when I was there.
Hello?
Picks up part of the floor.
Okay.
Like just lifted the floorboard and there was like a trap door that leads into a full blown mine shaft.
This is our future.
What was the thing called that I was going to do?
A saloon.
A balloon saloon?
The balloon saloon. I have the trapdoor already.
You know what's funny is if you had the balloon saloon under the trap door and then every time you live to the trap door, the balloons would go flying up.
Oh, that would be so funny until it was not funny at all and it was a pain in the ass. But yeah, so it would be very funny.
Until you had to round up the balloons all over again just to get them back in the saloon.
Put it back down there. Yeah.
So basically this entire investigation, half of them are in the saloon. Again, because it's very small. I think they were like, what do we do with the other two of them?
it's like three rooms
so two of them
are in the saloon
two of them
decided they're gonna go
investigate the mine shafts
which is like so hella
fucking dangerous
like so creepy and so dangerous
are they allowed down there
I don't think so
there were a lot of caution signs
as they walked right past them
I mean yeah
they're also going down ladders
that are like
haven't been climbed on
in a hundred years
I'm like that's just
a plank of dry plywood at this point
please get off of it
that's gonna end badly
yeah
So, okay, so they split up.
While they're all split up,
Zach, of course, decides he's going to stay in the saloon.
Remember, he has asthma, of course.
Oh, right.
Well, he got it psychically, I think.
Right, right.
Or he got an eye injury from the ghosts.
I'm sorry.
I'm making fun of him way too much.
I'm sorry.
People get really mad sometimes.
I'm just having a mark.
I'm also not making fun of him for his asthma, by the way.
I'm making fun of the fact that if he had to go down there,
he'd have that whole ventilator mask on.
He wears a giant ventilator.
It just is a little silly.
I can't tell if he likes wearing it or not because I feel like it makes him look tough,
but then it also really doesn't make him look tough at all.
But it can't be comfortable.
Like, I mean, maybe it is, but he does tend to wear it a lot.
As a glasses wearer, I'd fucking lose my mind if I also had to wear a ventilation mask.
Yeah.
So I don't know.
So he's at the, he's sitting in the saloon at the poker table, the poker table he's obsessed with.
Of course.
Yeah.
Zach says, what were you drinking the night that you died?
And the spirit box immediately, not immediately, but does say whiskey.
And then the spirit box, the battery.
dies right away once you get the word whiskey. Very creepy.
Then they go into the women's bathroom full of sex workers, remember?
And he asks for a name. And the spirit box, according to the subtitles of the show,
says Ruby, but I heard just a random fucking sound. Oh, I hate when they play it like four times
and you're like, literally not once have I heard what you're saying. It sounds like,
and they're like, Ruby? It's Ruby with no evidence of a Ruby being here.
It's so weird when that, when they do that, yeah. They ask if she knows.
knows she's dead. The spirit box does seem to say yeah to that. They ask how many spirits are here.
The spirit box says two. They ask is Paul, the one who got shot cheating? Is he also here? And the
spirit box says, I think so, he's here. And then they say, how many bodies were buried or thrown
down the shaft here at the saloon? And the spirit box says nine, which is crazy, because I haven't seen any
evidence of that. Whoa. The other half of the crew, they're still in the minds. They hear footsteps.
They hear a bang. They hear distant yelling. And then at the end of the episode, Zach goes,
to get the crew from the mines while he's saying way too much that he is worried that they might
have gone down in the mine shaft and you know he fucking told them to oh my god zachary he's acting like
i i left them up here and hopefully they just stayed out by the mine and didn't go down there
do exactly what i demanded of them to do you know he said get the fuck down there do you want
this job or not so uh anyway today this is a popular biker bar can confirm when i was
there. I was like only
bikers come here.
I certainly don't fit in.
There was a lot of, oh,
a lot of people go there that are paranormal enthusiasts.
They come here to check it out because they know how haunted it is.
This place,
I don't know if they currently do, but they have
before hosted paranormal tours and
overnight investigations.
The location has been featured
in many movies and TV shows,
including, I just put two in here because I thought they were
really good, fear and loathing in Las Vegas,
and miscongenial.
two armed and fabulous.
Classic.
So good.
Country stars have also done photo shoots here for their albums.
Ooh.
And remember I said how weird the memorabilia is because there's just like random Western
cards and coroner reports and then like Clark Gable shit.
Yeah.
The secret third other thing is Fallout, the TV show memorabilia, because the general
store here was...
Isn't that a video game?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I guess they, I guess Fallout now has all sorts of types of fallout.
like there's the video game
Fallout, Las Vegas.
Right, okay.
So the Vegas version of
Fallout, the general store here
was the inspiration for the general store
in the game. That's kind of wild.
Instead of being called the Pioneer Saloon, it's called the
Prospector Saloon.
And so then there's a bunch of like fallout
memorabilia everywhere, which is, it's so weird because
they really come from completely different time periods.
Like the old Western stuff is early 1900s.
Then there's like mid-1900 with Carbable.
And then not only is it more
future 2026, but it's like dystopian past 2026 memorabilia. So it's like glowing liquids and
Oh, oh, that's weird. It's like kind of futuristic dystopia. Oh, yeah. Very odd. The last thing I'm
going to tell you is that on their menu, because they have, what's the right word, embraced how
haunted this place is, some of the items on their menu are the Clark Gable biscuit sandwich,
the ghosted deviled eggs. Oh, the haunt dog.
Okay.
Ghost burger and Poultergeist burger, which is like a super intense ghost burger.
Oh, yum.
Fun fact, the ghost burger has been featured on Food Network a few times because it's
apparently that good.
And the other burger that I did not mention yet because I thought we should end on two
really horrible fun facts.
Okay.
I don't know if it's horrible, but it's certainly a what the fuck situation.
Another burger on their menu is called the Old Man Liver burger.
Old Man Liver.
and it even says it on the menu, just so you know there is no liver in this, it's called
the Old Man Liver burger because it's named after our owner who apparently his nickname is
Old Man Liver.
That's fucking weird.
Wow.
Okay.
Remember when I said get creative with the names and now I regret it.
Old Man Liver works here and he made himself a poltergeist, hot dog, deviled egg, Clark Gable
Biscuit sandwich.
Last thing I'll say, which is certainly the grossest thing I've said, the bar,
also regularly, not regularly, has in the past hosted a chicken shit bingo. Have you ever
participated in that? No, what's that? It's what it sounds like where you put the bingo boards
on the ground and then you let the chickens walk around and shut up. Once they cover the bingo board,
you win. Are you serious? Humans are so fucking funny. Like that can't be approved in a restaurant,
right? Humans are so fucking funny. I mean, no, no, no way. Well, the only thing,
The other place I've heard of chicken shit bingo was in, I think, Austin, Texas, which, like, is gross, but I get it for, like, the keep shit weird, keep things weird.
Yeah. Yeah. But I guess they heard that and went, well, if they can do it, we can do it. And they just live in the chicken sluice. It's pretty foul, if you ask me.
Oh, I would agree with that. Yes. Yes, I would. Fow. I know. Yeah, I'm trying to come up with a better pun. And I can't. I can't help you.
They're winging it. I don't know. Oh, okay. Well, and there doesn't even apply. That doesn't even work.
also to say that doesn't fly when chickens can't fly now that's funny chicken breast
boobs and that is the pioneer saloon very good very good oh that was that was classic um the bullet
holes with the red stuff coming out of it i'm telling you like it was like they clearly filmed a
certain amount of it and i'm sure the editors were like that's enough we don't have to show it
anymore. And I think Zach grabbed the mouse and dragged the timeline because it was twice as long as it
needed to be for sure. He's like actually let's slow it like 0.5 speed so we can really see a gooping out.
I mean, we took so long to get that shot. Let's really embrace it, you know? Like I just really want to
watch that tonight. So maybe I will. Season 9 episode one. I'm on it. So I do this thing where I clear
out my closet and then I end up with just the same kind of clothes that I like I'll buy some new stuff.
and then I'll be like, oh, I pass it on.
But my Quince stuff always remains.
Like, it's, like, lasted for so long through, like, several seasons, which I think is so
remarkable because I wear it all the time.
Like, I still have jeans from, like, years ago that I bought from Quince.
I just, I can't get enough of the stuff.
You have to meet me in the bathroom because I'm telling you the towels over there.
Oh, the towels, yeah.
The towels at Shultzworth Manor.
I've got ribbed.
Mm-hmm.
I've got, I've got Waffle.
Turkish.
Turkish.
Anything you could want.
It's all there for you.
I love a waffle.
Next time someone's at the Schultzworth Manor
and needs a shower, you're going to be cozy.
Ding-dong. Yeah, I'm coming over.

And when Quince asks where you heard about them,
let them know that it was.
and that's why we drink.
And it's the best way to support our show.
So let them know.
All right.
I have a real wild one for you today.
It's a long one.
It's already a two-parter.
I don't think it'll be a three-parter,
but we'll see what happens, okay, is what I'm going to say.
You take your time.
I'm sat.
I got no other plans.
So whatever you need to do.
Great.
You let me know.
Let me get my socks off so my feet can air.
You know what I'm saying?
Oh, oh, I didn't need to know about that.
You know what I mean?
Let the toes breathe.
Right in between.
All right.
That's actually we really, thanks.
I can feel the breeze between them now.
That's nice.
Da da da da da da da da da da.
Okay.
Don't listen.
Okay.
So this is part one of the Murdoch murders.
Don't know it.
Okay.
It is as it sort of harkens back to that meme I was just talking about where it's just like every time something happens.
you're like, I could not think it could, I did not think it could get worse and it gets worse.
But not funny in any way because, you know, crime.
Of course.
But wow, what a train wreck.
And it is drama.
Rich people drama.
So let's get into it.
Well, you should have led with that, Christy.
I sure should have.
I'm surprised this was not on your feed because it, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Here we go.
We begin in early 2019.
with 19-year-old Mallory, so there are a few M-names and they're friends, and so it's going to be a little
confusing.
Mallory Beach.
She lives in Hampton County, South Carolina, a southern county on the Georgia border.
She lives with her mom, works at a clothing store called retail therapy.
Her lifelong childhood best friend, so she's 19, by the way.
Her lifelong childhood best friend, Miley, Altman, also worked there at the store with her,
as did their mutual best friend Morgan.
So it's Miley Mallory Morgan, three, like 19-year-old best friends.
living in, living in South Carolina, working at the same store.
Oh my God.
You know they're the it girls at that store.
They are.
They are.
And everybody is like, oh, they know them as like the three BF, like they're the BFFs.
And, you know, they're just like tight.
So everyone knew them.
Mallory was particularly outgoing and friendly.
She was like a total social butterfly.
Her friends called her a fireball.
She was like the friend who was repainting her, her bathroom and bedroom every single year
with a new color and like matching her whole.
aesthetic. Yeah, like totally changing her vibes. And she loved to watch like house renovation shows and
wanted to become like an interior designer. And she loved fashion, which is why she worked at this
clothing store with her two best friends. Mallory, Morgan and Miley also spent a lot of their
time outside of work together as well. Mallory was dating one of her other childhood best friends,
a boy named Anthony Cook. They grew up in the same friend group and it became. It became
obvious over the years that there was like something between them and over time even though anthony
was really intimidated by mallory when they were younger they finally got together and everyone was like
oh they're perfect together and they were like tight um so mallory and anthony were like childhood sweet
like sweethearts all the way through high school and like you know now into their into their young
adult years and meanwhile myly the other friend was dating anthony's cousin Connor okay so the third
friend in the group Morgan.
She also had a boyfriend.
And he was called Paul Murdoch.
Okay.
Paul and Anthony were close and had also known each other growing up.
So it's like kind of a good little group.
They've got three young women who are best friends dating three young men who are very close or were best friends.
And even most of their parents were kind of tight with each other.
Morgan's family though, and she's the one dating Paul Murdoch.
Morgan's family were treated a little bit like outsiders because they weren't quite from the same as like an affluent community like the folks, the Murdox and the other folks in the neighborhood.
They had like moved from somewhere else into the wealthy neighborhood.
And a lot of the people who lived there had known each other for generations.
Like these families, it's like the South, right?
The families had like grown up in these giant homes like for like old generations.
Old money.
Yeah, very old money.
And so they moved into town and their daughter started dating.
basically like the kid of one of the wealthiest most influential families in town, right? So it's like out of a
fucking Disney rom-com, but but make it terrible. I have, I have a friend who she was in the
it family of her town and there was like, I don't know if they were rivals, but there were two
very popular, well-known, powerful families in that town. She was in one of them and then she married
the son of the other. And their grandchild is like the chosen one. It's very, very weird. I did
not grow up in a world like that. But yeah, it's like it's like succession, you know, I'm like,
what is this what it's really like? Or are they just pulling my leg? I'm like, is this real or is this like,
it's very odd. It's very odd. Yeah. But I mean, but I imagine if you live in that town, it's like,
that's, I mean, good for you. Good. You're just like in that. I guess that's your lifestyle. And so
they move in and they're like kind of outsiders, right? But they do like Paul and they think like Mallory
seems really happy. So they're like, okay, whatever. Even though we're not.
close with his parents.
Whatever.
It's fine.
And so that was kind of the only like a little bit of a rub in the situation.
But otherwise like it seemed like a really good group and nobody seemed to really like
have many problems with the group as a whole.
They were pretty popular and easygoing.
Morgan's mom for just for context was a nurse at a prison and her dad, Bill,
was a landscape designer.
So they were very much just like middle class, whatever.
And the Murdox, I'll tell you about them in a moment.
because they're just living this normal life in South Carolina doing well for themselves.
But now Paul, their daughter's boyfriend, Paul Murdoch, he comes from this local prestige
that I'm about to tell you about.
So in 1920, Paul's great, great grandfather, this is the most South Carolina bullshit you ever
did here, by the way.
Paul's great, great grandfather, Randolph Murdoch, Sr., was elected the solicitor of the 14th
Circuit in South Carolina.
This is 1920.
Now, I'm not even going to get into it.
Sersha did a lovely job of like going through the court circuits.
And I was like, I'm not, we're not.
No, it's long enough.
This story.
Yeah, but I know I would try, but I know only like some of you smarties would get it.
And not I, not I.
So we're going to get into a little bit.
Solicitor is an unfamiliar legal title in most of the U.S.
It's not the same as what you would say a solicitor is in the UK, which is a type of lawyer.
in South Carolina specifically solicitors are elected officials so you're like voted in so it's
even more it's not like you just get a job and you're like it's it's basically like the DA got
for South Carolina like you're elected into this position you have a lot of sway and you have a lot
of connection and so that's his great great grandfather every generation below same deal wow
yeah it's like I mean it feels like our version of like like the monarchical
or like, like, royalty.
Yeah, it's like, it is like a succession situation where it's like, Jesus, like.
And, yeah, it gets real fucking dark.
So these solicitors.
Now, Alex, that's Paul's father.
He is the fourth generation of men and his family to work in the judicial system of
South Carolina.
For generations, they were the face of the law in like a huge part of South Carolina.
Michael DeWitt of the Hampton County Guardian said, for over a century, the Murdox were law
and order here in the 14th Circuit.
At times, they were above the law.
Wow.
And this is over 100 years now that we're talking this, like, span, right?
So there was a stark class divide between Paul and Morgan's families that the adults, like,
did not bridge.
Morgan's parents said they worked and sort of kept to themselves.
So they didn't really even aware or they weren't even really aware of how much sway
and power the Murdox held.
They just thought, like, oh, I don't know, our daughter seems happy.
Yeah.
Or maybe they, like, did they, were they from the area?
Like, did they grow up in this?
Yeah.
Okay, so they're probably like, I didn't know was the serious.
Yeah, they were like, what the fuck? Yeah, exactly.
That's exactly right.
They were just happy for Morgan.
They thought highly of Paul and were like, oh, they seem happy.
He would bring Morgan gifts for her birthday, Valentine's Day, like always bringing
stuff over.
Any other occasion he could think of.
When they were still in high school, he was like the kind of boyfriend who would make like
a huge banner and a big show, like a big to do to ask her to prom, you know, and she just
really like felt, I don't know, special.
The Murdox would take Morgan with them.
to like the Kentucky Derby and like, you know, they're super richy rich. So they're going to like
the big events. Um, and on deep sea fishing trips, like these really wild trips. So they're like,
okay, you know, go ahead. Um, Diane and Bill thought Paul was thoughtful and kind and they were like
happy that their daughter found someone who appreciated her. Um, but meanwhile, Morgan found herself
sort of like striving to fill this role of like the girlfriend in this wealthy family. Um, and she
wanted to live up to these expectations.
And what Morgan's parents didn't know is that Paul was actually not kind to their daughter.
He did the kind of like surface level love bomby stuff, you know, of like, oh, bringing your
presence and like putting big signs.
But then it's also like if you have the money, you're able to do those grandiose things.
Easy.
Easy.
Right.
And would she.
Sorry.
Was she falling for it or did she know it was not as great?
No, she loved him.
No, she loved him deeply.
She was like really in the in the relationship.
in the family and like over time it became really obvious that whenever he drank and he drank a lot
Paul um he would be so uninhibited that his friends actually gave him a different alter ego name and
they called him timmy because he went so like off the rails and behaved like completely different
person um they would say oh timmy's here when he drank too much which was often and what year was
this again 2019 i feel like i feel i don't know i i feel like i feel like that was kind of
like a thing for a while.
Like when you were drunk,
you like switched out your name
to have a drunk persona
as like a funny thing
when you're in college.
But this feels like there was a very like young adult thing
of like, oh,
I guess he's out to play.
Brittany's here to like pick up dudes at the bar or whatever.
Yeah, it's like that vibe.
But his persona was not like a fun.
It was like a very belligerent like.
Oh, okay.
Got it.
He would, he would.
Like we're not laughing when Timmy's here.
I mean, maybe.
But like I'm not.
I don't find it funny.
But maybe they did.
I don't know.
But he would develop this like uninhibited personality.
Anthony would like call him that at some point because he was so out of character.
But he was still Paul, right?
And most importantly, he was still a Murdoch.
So just as an example here, one night, this is just an example.
One night after leaving a party, Paul and Morgan got into a fight because Paul wanted to drive, but he had been drinking.
He was very drunk.
And she said, you can't drive.
and he said, watch me.
So he became aggressive toward her, so she let him drive.
And wouldn't you know it?
Paul crashed the car.
They wound up in a ditch on the side of the truck, the truck on its side.
Morgan called 911 and Paul freaked out, took her phone through it and called his grandfather,
Randolph, who showed up with his parents, Alex and Maggie Murdoch.
They arrived.
They didn't, it's like 2 a.m. by the way, at this point, 2.30 in the morning.
they arrive they don't stop to check with morgan and paul who are sideways in the fucking car to
see if they're okay they go to the back of the car to get all the weapons out that paul has
stashed in the back of the car oh my god uh and a pile of empty beer cans that he's tossed back
there they clear all that out then they ask morgan if she's called 911 she says yes and they
they said they scold her for risking paul's reputation and getting him into trouble oh so they're
like oh well we were hoping you'd say no to that correct that's crazy okay
They were pissed. Morgan was shocked because she was like, we almost died. But they were covering up the drinking and driving. And this just became like a norm for her. And she's like stuck in this now. And she feels like she's kind of in this loop. You know, he has these fucking firearms in the back and empty beer cans. And he just calls his grandpa and like everyone comes in and clears it out. And and, you know, it's just just just just seems to be the status quo. Very privileged. Very privileged. Very privilege. He just kind of did whatever he wanted. Right. So he spent a lot of his time on the family.
family's 1,000 plus acre property where he could hunt, fish, drink, like he and party.
Like he had full access.
It's like a nightmare to think about now as an adult, but like a teenager's dream of like
a thousand acres to just like party and play and hunt and smoke and drink and do whatever
the fuck you want.
They called it a massive playground for Paul.
Like he just drove his like fucking vehicles around and like got wasted.
Yeah.
We had a, well, I didn't, but I know.
a group of people, I never got invited to their parties, but I knew a group of people where it was
like that where you just heard the craziest fucking stories. And it's like, is it Lord of the Flies
over there? Like how do you? It was like, it was like a frat house before you even got to college.
It was just like, how do you have access to all this? I was so scared of that when I was young.
I was like completely wigged out by that kind of thing. Like I just would be like, yeah,
I, yeah. I've like encountered some of those sort of like places or people or events. And I remember just
being like, this has like bad energy. Bad fucking energy. Like it's like there's something so
toxic here. I remember even at 17 when I was like not doing the most savory things, but like I
remember thinking like, where are your parents? Like that's it. That's it. It's like there's something
where you're like, oh, even I know this is fucked up. You know, like even I know something's going to.
And by the way, there's like clearly a very instinctual thing happening. I'm like, this is a very,
this is a fucking downward spiral. This guy's not just going to fucking get back.
better if his parents are just like cleaning up after him and letting him drive drunk and almost kill his
girlfriend. You know, it's like they have to have a line somewhere. Damn. It's maddening. It's maddening.
I feel like there's a, there's not a single line. I'm aware of the privilege I grew up in. And I feel like
there were a few people I went to school with where it seemed, I was not friends with them. But my,
my guess, even as an adult, was that the parents thought like, well, if I'm financially successful
enough, I've done it. Like I've, I've done what I need to do as a parent.
that is success.
Oh, so I've offered when I need to offer sort of like, yeah, it's like, well,
I can provide you anything you need.
And it doesn't even occur to them to like, you are not tending to anything emotional
to helping them fucking grow.
Like the neglect is still major.
Yeah, it's like neglect in every form.
But yeah, exactly.
So it feels like that's kind of the situation here where it's like you could have
everything you want and therefore I have succeeded as a parent that I've provided.
And it's like.
Oh, completely.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Just like stay out of my way.
Yeah.
And like make sure we don't ruin our reputation.
and we're good.
You know, it's like, yeah, it's really, I got to say, it's, it's something.
And if you watch, there's a, there are several documentaries, but if you watch,
there's one particular one on Netflix that is three parts.
I rewatched it yesterday.
And it, it just is shocking.
Like, it's like every episode, you're like, what else could there be to talk about?
What?
You're like, wait, I mean, I'm telling you.
Are you going to give a shout out at the end of that?
Oh, it's just called the Murdoch trial.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
Or Murdoch.
That sounds good.
M-U-R-D-A-U-H.
Thank you.
I know.
It's got it.
Cool.
Funky.
But it's like, and that one's cool because there's so much footage because they have, I mean,
it was 2019, 2020, 2020, 2021 those years.
And so it was like cell phone era.
So we have like so much, they have so much footage and actual, you can hear people talking.
You can like see everything going on.
It's like a very, like, very immersive thing, which is.
disturbing but also good.
Okay, so that
1,000 acre property, they called,
Morgan called it Paul's Playground.
Like, yikes, it feels like a serial killer thing.
The property was stocked with hunting, fishing supplies
more than anybody could ever possibly need.
It had kennels with hunting dogs.
It had ponds.
It had an airplane with a hanger and a private landing strip.
Like, these are like wealthy people.
there and everywhere else he went, Paul just did whatever the fuck he wanted.
Okay.
And he was completely unchallenged in all of his behavior.
Although they all hung out together and Anthony and Paul were best friends, Mallory was not a fan of Paul.
And this is Anthony's girlfriend, Mallory.
And she's like, he's trouble.
Miley, their other third friend fucking hated Paul.
Because they see how he treats their best friend, Morgan, and they're like, what the fuck?
Like, she's awesome and you're a shithead.
he would also break up with her for days at a time, then take her back and do the fucking pulling or stringing her along.
I mean, just tail as old as time.
Emotional whiplash.
She would come to work crying and not having slept and they were like, this guy is not worth it.
Like a normal relationship shouldn't make you feel bad and cry.
And like, you know, it just they really, and they both were really happy in their relationships.
And so they really struggled to see her go through this.
they tried to build her up as much as they could like to get her to leave paul um and she
considered it a few times but it's like this cycle of abuse and then you would you know come back
and say i'll change i'll never drink again yada yada and it would just start all over again and again
with the money and the control and the coercion it's just like yeah it's bad um through it all mylie
and mallory supported her stayed by her side um and now i want to get into a little bit of the way
the Murdox normalized binge drinking and how this kind of plays into it.
Oh, boy.
Because, yeah, it's bad because Morgan's parents didn't really drink.
And so she wasn't like coming from that kind of an environment.
But the Murdox drank like heavily all day all the time for any reason.
So she recalled that Alex Murdoch, the dad, let Paul, like teenage Paul and his friends into the law firm through a back entrance where they could drink liquor with each other and like drink liquor with children of.
the other law partners who were all like 14, 15, 16 and just like take shots. I mean,
I mean, it really is like it's just they're, it's prepping them to for frats.
To be the same shit. Yeah. And then to like build the same environments as they get older.
And I, I mean, I, uh, I don't know why I'm trying to defend anybody. I'm trying to say like,
I understand I grew up in a house where like my mom thought like, if I let you sip,
sip some wine when you're like 17, 16 or 17, then like maybe.
because you're doing it under my roof. I know where you are and maybe that'll like, like,
like, luckily I never drank. So, but the offer was on the table. But to just go out and get
blasted is crazy. Well, to be like, here, come to, come to my work, kids. And here's a bottle of
vodka. Here's a handle of vodka. Children. Have fun with with the other kids. Like, are you not
thinking of the repercussions? And also, why don't you go hang out on our thousand anchors with guns?
Like, what are you talking about? Yeah, that too. They did that all the time. It's just
nuts. And so binge drinking just became normal to Morgan. Like she just was like, well,
this is what we do, especially wherever the Murdox were involved. But when Paul binged,
like he became completely unstable. He became this Timmy character. Anthony said that Paul really
liked attention. Wouldn't you know it? And others agreed Paul would act out erratically,
outrageously to get attention when he drank. And Miley, the other friend who fucking hated Paul,
she could barely tolerate him. She couldn't stand being around him. She didn't like being around
him sober, let alone drunk.
And she said when he drank too much, he wasn't just dangerous to himself.
He was dangerous to everyone and he was erratic and could be violent, could be like get them
in trouble, could get himself hurt.
Clearly like tipping cars over and like has access to weapons.
I mean, this is just trouble.
Oh my God.
And the parents are fully aware.
I mean, they're enabling.
Yes.
And covering it up when the consequences come.
They're completely encouraging it and covering up any consequences.
Yes.
Oh my God.
What do you think is going to happen?
Yeah, a fucking disaster.
Mm-hmm.
On February 23rd, 2019, the group was invited to something called an oyster roast.
Is this something you know about?
No.
Feels like another trick from the rich that they're going to trick me.
I have heard of like crab parties, but I don't know about oyster.
Like a crab boil or something.
Yeah.
Yeah, but no, this is an oyster roast, which I guess was a common social scene in South Carolina winters.
Okay.
I would not attend.
Oysters are ass.
Yes.
I love an oyster.
Oh, yeah.
Okay. Anthony wanted to skip it that night because he didn't feel like being out in the cold, but Mallory, his girlfriend, really wanted to go. Anthony said, okay, fine, let's go. Paul and Morgan were not getting along this day, but Paul guilt tripped her into going to. So that evening, the six friends that I've mentioned, the three couples traveled by boat on the Beaufort River. Anthony said he'd done that trip a thousand times. More than that, he said Paul and Connor knew what they were doing and they've done, they've done.
I've driven this boat, no problem.
But Paul started binging immediately.
He used his older brother's ID to purchase alcohol, which they kept in a cooler on the boat.
And then he used a funneled a shotgun more than five beers, like, from just the get-go.
Wow.
And during the oyster roast, more than one person told him, like, it is way too dark and cold for you to be driving the boat back.
Good for that person.
Well, yeah, many people told him that.
And many people offered him rides.
They said he could leave the boat moored there for night for the night and get.
get it tomorrow, but he said, no, I'm not going to leave my boat. I don't want someone else to
drive me home. And Anthony said, Paul was just too proud to accept a ride and to admit he was too
drunk to drive. So Morgan told him, Paul wanted the night to go his way exactly how he had planned it
because Murdox don't hear no and they don't, they don't understand that concept.
Giving in to Paul, they all, six of them got into the boat and sometime after midnight there was some
sort of disagreement or argument on the boat because Connor and Paul wanted to dock in Beaumont
to go to a bar, but everyone else wanted to go home. Connor and Paul are getting their way,
of course, and Paul parks a boat in Beaufort, and he and Connor went ashore, began to take
shots. Remember, they're already wasted. Meanwhile, Miley and Morgan commiserated about being angry
at their boyfriends for making them stay out. Anthony and Mallory are like lovey-dovey and just having
a happy time together and they're like seemingly a healthy couple.
And then Paul, they just wait around for, because Paul has to drive him home on that fucking boat.
So they just wait around for them to be done taking shots.
Paul gets on the boat and he's fucking smashed.
He can hardly stand.
Oh my God.
Let alone drive a boat.
But of course he's like, I'm driving home.
The girls are like Connor, Anthony has to drive this last leg and he refuses.
They briefly discuss calling an Uber, but Paul refuses to leave the boat in town.
And if everyone doesn't Uber, Anthony doesn't want to leave some of them on the boat with Paul.
So he's like, well, shit, then I'll stay.
So they all get back on the boat just after 1 a.m.
And immediately things go wrong.
Paul is driving the boat erratically.
Everyone's freaking out.
He let's go over the wheel.
And Connor, like, keeps having to grab it to keep the boat going in the right direction.
Oh, my God.
And then Paul gets pissed because someone's touching the steering wheel.
Paul steers them in circles, starts, like, scaring them, you know, doing the, like,
Like, he's zigging the boat and trying to scare everybody.
But trying to like assert power and like.
Exactly.
Be like, oh yeah, are you scared?
Yeah.
1 a.m.
He's doing this.
Everything's happening so fast.
Connor's trying to step in and like course correct.
Paul's behavior's escalating.
Everyone's yelling.
Finally, Miley's shouting, take us home.
He's getting more and more agitated that everyone's fighting with him.
And finally, Morgan says to Paul, you're acting crazy.
And Paul fucking freaks.
Okay.
Oh, my God.
He walks away from the boat's helm to all.
argue with Morgan and says to his girlfriend, you know what's crazy? Your father not making
enough money to support your family. Boo. Yuck. Yuck. What the hell? Are you fucking kidding? Are you
out of your fucking. I don't care if you're drunk. I'd clock them right in the goddamn throat.
What are you talking about? Keep going. I have fucking, I don't know, I don't know. Okay.
This can't, this simply isn't the worst thing that happens in this story. So just keep it moving.
It gets so absurdly much more worse that you make, you, you want to pull your own head off.
It, like, it is just madding and I can't even get.
Okay.
So, he says to her on this boat as they're fucking speeding down this river and he's let go of the fucking steering mill.
He says, you know what's crazy?
Your father not making enough money to support your family.
And then he slaps her in the face.
Oh.
absolutely not i it's like oh it's like so myly who hates paul as we all do but sees him hit her friend
and she in that moment later says she realized this is not the first time he's hit her and they
didn't realize at the time like oh that the physical abuse had escalated to this point but she remembers
in that moment being like this is not the first time he has hit her i mean even if he's drunk for him
to think that he can get away with that with a confidence
has been built up.
Oh, like a full sheer, yeah, yeah.
She like freezes, Miley, watching this happen and going, oh, my God.
And Paul turns around, goes back to the helm of the boat and pushes the throttle all the way up.
Oh, my God.
The boat lurches forward at full speed.
And Miley, just before Impact, sees the Archer's Creek Bridge straight ahead.
They drive straight into a pylon.
and the boat smashes into it.
Anthony grabbed Mallory, pulled her against him, heard someone scream, and the boat
collided with a pylon, and then he was in the water.
This was roughly 220 a.m.
February morning, freezing water, not freezing, but cold water.
When a person is submerged in cold water, they experienced something called cold shock
response, CSR, which I had not known about this.
I mean, I guess I had heard of it, but I didn't know the name of it.
I think we all knew of it conceptually from the Titanic.
And that was funny.
I was just telling someone yesterday.
I've never seen that full movie.
Yeah.
At the end, like as they're about to go down, like Leo DiCaprio is like warning her like,
this is what's about to fucking happen.
Like you got to kick with all your bite.
I literally said, I never saw the ending.
I'm sure there wasn't anything I missed.
And now I'm like, wait a minute.
Whoa.
Okay.
That's crazy.
Okay.
So, well, yeah.
So that that's fascinating because I didn't know that.
Um, cold shock.
Yeah.
Makes sense.
Cold shock response.
So it's like the body's natural response to sudden extreme exposure.
And it causes you to have tachycardia increased heart rate, um, hyperventilation,
but also an immediate reflexive gas of air or water, right, if you're underwater.
And so what would, what, what will happen is that you'll be submerged in cold water,
which is roughly below 60 degrees Fahrenheit 16 Celsius.
And the body forces this reflexive gas.
And if your head is not above water, you will breathe in water.
and that can make you drown like very quickly.
And if you're not wearing a life jacket,
right, and your body hits and your head's not above water,
yeah.
You can inhale water right away, sink and drown immediately.
A person who experiences this CSR gasp and,
and inhales this water can just go down immediately.
And it's also called Sudden Disappearance Syndrome.
Because you basically just like, I know.
I fucking know it's chilling and sick.
Like what, like which would you prefer?
Like that just sounds awful.
It's like, oh, we have another name for it.
Thank you.
Don't worry.
You don't have to die that way.
You can die this way.
Yeah.
Do you want another acronym?
Is that going to help?
Yeah, seriously.
So it's like this like horrifying, rapid drowning.
Paul, Anthony, Mallory had all been thrown into the water.
There's also a fucking current rushing under the bridge, right?
So it's not just cold water, but it's a rushing cold water.
And now they're injured because they've been hurled out of a boat.
So somehow Anthony makes it ashore.
And he's looking everywhere.
for Mallory because he was holding her when the boat he grabbed her his girlfriend like right when
the boat hit um he sees paul make it to shore a fucking course but mallory is gone and he's screaming
for her they're screaming for her they don't hear her he dives into the water over and over and over again
uh cannot see or do anything the water's too fast there's no sign of her um Connor calls 911
anthony dives in again and again Paul is fucking laughing are you fucking getting me I can't stand this man
Yeah, he's, he's, he's, it's trash.
So they're all screaming for Mallory.
He's just like not fucking bothered.
He's, of course, calling his granddaddy, you know, to like fix the problem.
Anthony's looking for his girlfriend and like desperation.
Connor is on the phone with the operator.
You can hear this whole, not that, maybe not the whole thing, but most of the phone call on the video, on the, in the documentary.
He's trying to give as accurate as information as he can.
You can hear everyone in the background calling for Mallory.
It's very disturbing.
and talking about their own injuries.
So police arrive on scene
and Anthony goes up the bank to meet them on the bridge.
20 officers arrived.
Connor, his face was cut.
Morgan had, was bleeding.
Connor could feel that his bottom teeth
had like been pushed in front of his top teeth
so he knew his jaw had been like damage
or broken in some way.
And he could feel that his face was hot
but like, you know, the adrenaline and everything.
Paul had now somehow taken off all his clothes.
He was only in his underwear.
His behavior was erratic.
He refused to cooperate with first responders.
He was laughing and smiling like it was funny.
Anthony in complete despair over Mallory, like told him to fuck himself, told him to rot in hell.
Truly.
Then Paul started asking first responders if he could use their phone because he had to make a phone call.
And finally, he got someone's phone and called his grandfather and said,
Connor was driving the boat.
and crashed it into a bridge.
Yeah.
And does Connor at this point go, oh, so we are not going to be saying the same story?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Precisely.
Can you imagine him Connor in hearing that?
Yeah.
He literally talks about it.
He's like, uh, I was like, wait a minute.
Yeah, it's fucking insane.
And then like, I mean, not that, not that it matters.
But like, do we have any guess that like, did Paul think like, oh, yeah, he'd help me out
because he's my friend?
Or did he just think, fuck this guy?
Oh, they don't give a shit.
No, they don't do.
Literally don't give a shit.
There's just not a shred.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
But good question.
Because you'd like to think maybe there's a little nuance there, but not with these people.
You would think like, I don't know.
I certainly, I can't imagine Connor's fear thinking like the most powerful people in town are going to certainly make it look like I did this.
Like he knows.
He's like, oh, well, I've been their friend for years.
I know what these people are capable of.
And now I'm on the bad side, right?
It's like now I'm being used as the fucking scapegoat or whatever.
Crazy.
Yeah, it is.
So he's like, yeah, grandpa, like, Connor was driving the boat and crushed it.
And no, they can't find Mallory.
Oops.
So soon everyone's parents know what happened except for Mallory's.
They do not tell Mallory's family anything.
Eventually Mallory's grandma sees something about it, hear something about it, calls Mallory's mom and is like, what's going on?
Mallory's mom is like, I have no clue.
I don't know about this.
And they don't know where to go.
They're like, do we go to the hospital?
No, she's not at the hospital.
Do we go to the side of the crash?
Like, we don't know where to go.
It's February.
We're confused.
Nobody contacted Mallory's parents.
Now, Anthony's mom was at the scene because Anthony refused to go to the hospital
because Mallory was still missing and he wouldn't leave.
And so his mother came there.
and he had like a hurt shoulder and he was sitting on the banks just like waiting, waiting.
And while searchers deliberated their options, his mom, Beverly, was recorded on a body camera asking an officer whether Mallory's parents had been contacted.
She said, I have their phone number. Can you call them? I don't want to be the one to call them. I'd rather law enforcement call them to give the information.
And the officer responds, until we know something for sure, probably not a good idea to make that call.
want to create a panic, have them out here causing issues.
And it's like, are you fucking serious?
Hello?
Their daughter is like missing in the river?
Then remind me, this family did not grow up in this kind of lifestyle.
So like, to them, they're like, fuck this, like, help my kid.
They do not understand the hierarchy.
Sorry, sorry, sorry.
Sorry, that's Morgan.
So this is, so Mallory is the, is Anthony's girlfriend who grew up in town and is like also
in this circle.
Aware of how things go here.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
I think so.
I mean, as far as.
I can tell.
But still, it's like, wait, everybody is under the influence of these people, you know,
even if you are from this town or even if you are in these circles, it's like nobody's immune
to like these people's toxic reach, you know.
So soon after Miley Morgan, Paul and Connor were transported at the hospital, Randolph and
Alex Murdoch showed up at the hospital.
Remember, they're law people too.
the face of the law.
And they wouldn't allow police officers to interview Paul,
whose blood alcohol was three times the legal limit.
And remember, he bought all the alcohol underage.
Like, he's not even of drinking age.
Protecting a person from being interviewed by police while incapacitated wasn't necessarily
the issue.
The issue was that they were like, go interview all the other kids.
You know, not Paul.
Oh, my God.
Shut up.
Shut up.
Like, oh, my God.
It's fucking maddening.
So then while Morgan's hand is being sutured,
because she got an injury when she fell out of the boat,
Randolph literally the grandfather stood outside the door
while her hand was being sutured just to stare at her.
Just like to intimidate her.
Threatened.
Like don't fucking threaten anything.
Intimidated her.
And then Alex showed up and started tapping on the door
and said he needed to come in because he was representing Morgan
and even and remember this is now her boyfriend's dad.
So this is like her father-in-law, so to speak, like, you know, by, not by marriage at this point, but like, that's their connection.
It's like this is her boyfriend's dad.
He's trying to get in and she tells the nurse, do not let that man anywhere near me.
Do not let him anywhere near me.
Good for her.
I know.
Alex and Randolph interfered wherever they could.
They were just like in and out.
Hospital staff later said they were clearly trying to cause confusion and like mix up facts and manipulate the situation.
Alex, the dad, called Connor's parents and said,
your son was driving the boat that crashed.
And he was the one who crashed it.
Oh, my God.
And they said, but don't worry, we'll represent him in court and make sure he gets a really
fair shake.
For fucking no thanks.
I don't think so.
I know.
So while Connor was being transported from, and remember his jaws fucked up.
So he can't even speak.
Oh, no.
I know.
And that's part of it.
That's probably why Paul took one look at him and went, you can't talk.
Yeah.
He's one.
Well, he knows Anthony's going to be, yeah, exactly.
He's like, he's just pinned him on the easiest, pinned it on the easiest one.
And also Connor knew how to drive the boat.
Paul and Connor were the two who knew how to drive it.
So I think that's probably also why.
So he's being transported from his room to a cat scan for his jaw.
And Alex fucking jumps on the chance, right?
He jumps over to Connor and he starts whispering in his fucking ear.
Of course.
This guy's getting wheeled into a cat scan, this kid.
And this guy starts whispering in his ear.
Everything's going to be all right.
you just need to keep your mouth shut and tell them you didn't know who was driving.
I mean, are we for fucking real?
And he said being who they are, I was doing what I was told.
Anything they get in, they get out of.
And ironically, like I said, he couldn't even speak.
So he's like, what the fuck?
Like, I mean, I, I really, I.
He was terrified.
I can't imagine.
I can't imagine.
And to know what they're capable of.
Exactly.
He was like, he just felt completely stuck.
He was like, I'm terrified.
I see what's happening.
It's almost like your best option is to just comply and like, maybe I go to jail.
Until you figure out what happens.
Yeah.
So Mallory's mom, Renee Beach, arrived at the hospital finally and she saw Randolph and asked if there
are any updates on Mallory.
He goes, who?
This fucking guy.
Oh my God.
She said Mallory Beach, my daughter who is missing from the boating accident.
This man, this grandpa, Paul's grandpa says to her.
Oh, I'm pretty sure we know how that's going to end up.
Oh.
And that's the first thing.
she's heard about what happened to her daughter.
So she goes, oh, I think my daughter's dead.
Like, I just, you know.
I mean, in that moment, what else she's supposed to do?
Like, no.
What the fuck?
All you said in that sentence was, well, I'm not here to help you.
Like, what the hell was that?
Oh, you, yeah.
Who?
Oh, fuck you.
So the Murdoch men, um, were just like trying to keep Paul's ass covered.
And he, of course, had been uncooperative with ambulance staff.
He was still belligerently drunk.
Um, while Morgan was receiving treatment to nurses.
approached her family, her parents.
And remember I said, like, her parents were like, Paul's lovely.
And he brings her so many presents.
Two nurses came to her parents and said, you need to keep your daughter away from that man.
He's violent.
He's abusive.
He's bad news.
And this is kind of the first time they'd been even hearing of this.
And one of them, paraphrased by Diane, said, one of the nurses said, I'm not supposed to say this to you, but Paul is a nasty drunk and you need to get away from him as fast as you can.
Wow.
The second nurse approached Diane and said, nurse to nurse and mom to mom, you need to keep your daughter away from him.
Good for her.
So, yeah.
So the doubties had no idea, like, that there was such abuse going on in their daughter's relationship.
Not even Morgan's best friends knew how bad it had gotten.
Paul had been spitting on, kicking her, choking her.
He, the housekeeper who had largely raised Paul and was like basically his mother figure, she once told Morgan that she would just have to, quote, get used to his temper or leave.
And of course, you know, one of those two options is impossible.
You can't just leave or come find you.
And then if he did it every once and he'll get away with it like he is right now.
So it's just accepting the behavior and just encouraging it.
Morgan said whenever Paul got into trouble, he'd just call Randolph and then he'd call
Alex and then they come up with a story.
They snap their fingers.
Local reporters, though, are smelling the drama and the fucking messiness of this, right?
Days past, there's no sign of Mallory still.
just nightmare cruiser searching and dive teams helicopter boat um they had to scour a huge expanse of the river
and when mallory's mother got to the crash scene she wanted to see where her daughter had disappeared
but an officer said they were under strict orders not to allow anyone to approach the scene guess who
fucking walked right past the caution tape yeah yeah uh the murdock family just walks right up and
like goes past the the police and walks over there and she's like oh wait my daughter was killed here
She's the only one who died or was missing and they just waltzed right on in.
Yeah.
So at this point, they're actually nervous that they're going to cover up the whole thing.
Like if they even find Morgan, they're worrying at this point.
Like, what if they don't even tell anybody and cover it up?
At home, Anthony was really fucking going through it.
He finally began to accept.
He went to the bank every day, but he eventually began to accept like she's not going to be found alive.
But he would like hope for a miracle anyway.
and he told a friend that if Mallory walked out of the water right then, he would marry her.
Oh my God.
Made me sad.
Jesus.
At home, he slept with his mom in the living room because he was having so many night terrors and nightmares.
And he would wake up screaming that he was in the water, like that he had fallen in the water.
And he was like holding her, right?
And then he had like let her go.
I mean, it's just fucking horrid.
Connor, meanwhile, is experiencing a different terror because he's being fucking scapegoat.
as the driver of the boat.
I mean, he's about to get, like, mafia, like, mailbox,
the bomb in the mailbox because he's, like,
to intimidate the shit out of him.
So the media coverage is reporting that it's uncertain who was driving
because, of course, the Murdox are saying, oh, it was Connor,
but then he's like, no, it was Paul.
So the media is like, we don't know who was driving.
It was either Paul or Connor.
Connor refuses to take the blame, but he's like, well, I don't know if they're going
to threaten me, mafioso me, whatever.
He even asked his dad, like, do you think they could have me killed?
It's like this is like how scary these people are.
I believe they could.
I absolutely do.
Alex Murdoch called Marty Cook.
So Alex is the dad of Paul.
He calls Marty Cook Connor's dad and says, we need to have a talk.
Okay.
So the dad, Connor's dad, who already knows like his son's being blamed for this and knows
his son didn't fucking do it, meets at Alex's law firm and Alex says, pick any room you like where we can talk.
Shut the fuck up.
Shut the fuck up, brother.
Please.
Give me a fucking great.
That's a hell no brother.
You know what I'm saying?
That's a hell no brother.
And he says, why do I pick a room?
And he says, that way you know you're not being set up with a recording device.
And he goes, well, no, I know I'm being.
Now I know I'm being set up a fucking recording device, you piece of shit.
Also, like, you're billionaires.
Like, you for sure have recording devices in every room.
Don't, yeah, in 2020 or whatever, 2021.
You're just going to walk in with your phone or whatever, you know, like, there's,
what do you mean?
Like, don't play games with me, sir.
Yeah, it's just nuts.
And so they were like, oh, well, we got to talk because, you know, we got to see where we stand.
Like, we can't really mourn this whole situation until we know that it's clear Connor was driving the boat.
And Connor's out as like, Connor was not driving the boat.
We're not playing this game.
Yeah.
So at every turn, they're trying to spin the events to exonerate Paul, set up Connor.
Of course, Marty's like, I'm not playing this game.
I don't know.
Yeah.
Like, they really thought it would work, I guess.
Some of the survivors family members began to fear that, like, if Mallory were found that it would be covered up.
But a member of a search crew did find Mallory eventually, nearly a week after the crash.
Of course, nobody wanted to find the ending to be, you know, her death.
But at the same time, they were able to at least host a funeral and lay her depressed, you know, and have some closure.
The community, like, really showed up.
The line for the funeral was, like, around the block, just very, very outpour, very much an outpouring of support.
And not that it's helpful, but you know the gossip on the street.
was like out of control.
Oh, bad.
Yeah.
But I would hope that if it's going to exist, hopefully a majority of them are in like Conner's
favor being like, we all know that Paul fucking did that, right?
I think that's probably what was being picked up on.
Yes, yes, exactly.
So Mallory's parents believed that they would one day be reunited with Mallory in death,
but her father said he also wanted earthly justice to be done.
So a friend Kant connected them with Mark Tinsley, who was like basically the only attorney in the
area who could like take on who was like who like knew what the murdox who the murdox were and we're like
I can try this and um he knew what it would mean to challenge them so he began compiling evidence against
Paul and wouldn't you know it it's fucking everywhere okay um he has all sorts of questions he has all
sorts of evidence the evidence is mounting that the murdox are manipulating the investigation that it
absolutely without question was Paul driving the boat not Connor so two months after the crash and
Mallory's death three felony charges were brought against Paul
One count of DUI causing death.
Two counts of DUI causing great bodily injury.
And finally, Connor was like, well, at least I'm off the hook a little bit, right?
But that was not the end of the Murdox interfering with this entire situation.
At Paul's first court appearance, the energy was extremely strange and unsettling.
A reporter said Alex was like smiling and like chumming it up with everybody and the reporters and like was greeting the media and being like, how do you do?
Like so, like, yeah.
It's like when Ted Bundy would come.
and like be charming with everyone. Charm. Ugh. Yeah. It's sick. Media outlets were waiting for a mugshot
to use in their coverage, but instead they got this like iPhone picture of Paul like in his dress
shirt. Like they didn't make him take a normal mugshot like every other fucking person that gets arrested.
He literally got like a blurry iPhone picture and they were like he didn't even have to change
out of his clothes, you know, just bizarre. His bail was set to $50,000 even though he's like the
wealthiest person in the town and he was not handcuffed and led from the room. So he was basically
exempt from any sort of procedure that was usually going on. He didn't have to get his fingerprints
taken in the other building. They brought the machine to him to take his fingerprints. Literally like,
is he the fucking president? Just a little baby prince on a little baby pillow.
Oh, sorry, that's my baby prints on this little baby pillow. Speaking of,
of royalty. He said, who are you talking to? He said, don't say that name in this house. Okay.
Sorry. It's mail time. So for two years, Paul is like awaiting his trial, but instead of being
in jail, he's at home, not having a problem with anything, just partying with his friends. I was going to
say, like, literally like $50,000, but you only have to pay $5,000 of that, which is like chump change
to them. And then he immediately went to his acres to go shooting and drinking. A thousand acres with
unlicensed weapons. Right. Totally. Um,
Yeah. So Morgan sees, she's online, she's basically been shaken out of this like horrible nightmare. Her friend, one of her best, best friends is killed by her boyfriend. And she's sort of shaken out of this like almost, I don't know what to call it, but she she sees it clear. Yeah, like she's exactly. She sees it clearly. And she sees as people are partying with him. Like he just fills his circle with new people and is just getting drunk doing the same shit. And so she's just.
just getting like furious.
Like this is insane. So she starts cutting people out of her life.
She's like, I don't want to be around. I don't want to be connected to people that are
hanging out this guy.
Like, does she break up with him?
Oh yeah. They were, they were completely disconnected.
Okay.
Yeah. She resolved to leave Paul permanently after after losing, after losing Mallory.
She was basically like that shocked her her. Her parents had like that shocked her out of this.
But then like through like town gossip, she'd find out like these people hang out with him and these
people.
And then she was like, social media and stuff, like he would be posting with like their
friend, their same friends.
And she's like, I'm not part of this group anymore.
Like, you know, this is insane that they're still like, yeah, exactly.
She had to watch people.
She knew like party with him as if nothing had ever happened.
And it was just haunting and infuriating.
So Paul's former friend said Paul had grown up pretty alienated from his family.
His older brother Buster had followed the family legacy and gone to law school.
But Paul didn't want to go to law school.
he didn't feel love and acceptance at home.
So he acted out and sought it elsewhere.
The housekeeper, Miss Gloria, is the one that loved him like a son and was the one who like said, oh, if you can't handle his behavior, you need to leave, you know, to Morgan.
And they were very close.
Anthony said she took care of Paul like a family member never did.
Miss Gloria would have walked off the end of the moon for Paul Murdoch.
and he even, he kept no photos in his wallet except one of Miss Gloria.
But she had actually died a year earlier, tragically, in a crash.
Wow, in a crash, you say?
After suffering a fall at the Murdoch family home.
Hmm. Now that's intriguing.
Anthony thought jail might be right for Paul because he needed to have learned a fucking lesson.
But he also believed his former friend was like lonely and afraid and was like going to just keep drinking and acting.
out because was he going to face his demons now? No. So on June 7th, 2021, we're talking more than two years
after the boat crash. While Paul is still awaiting trial, dispatch receives a 911 call in the middle
of the night. It's Alex Murdoch, the father. He's frantic. He says, this is Alex Murdoch at 4147
Moselle Road. I need the police and an ambulance immediately. My wife and child have
have been shot badly.
Oh.
Neither one of them is moving.
It's bad.
Uh-huh.
And who did the shooting?
I wonder.
Paul and his mother,
Maggie,
had both been shot and killed on the property.
And when you hear,
it's so chilling when you,
when you see and the dog,
they're at the dog kennels when he's calling.
And it's like,
you hear these dogs barking,
these German Shepherds barking.
And he's like,
something happened.
And I mean,
it's like,
chilling.
They'd both been shot and killed on the property.
Morgan recalled,
I know I'm angry at Paul, but it hurt to know that someone was murdered, a mother and a son.
Like that was, even though it's like her ex that she hates, it's like, but now he's been murdered.
Like, you know, that's also a shock.
That has to be a trippy combination of feelings.
It can't be.
And she's also dealing with survivors guilt, right?
Because she's, her boyfriend was driving the boat and her friend died, you know, it's just awful.
So as this news starts to spread, the murder of this like family that's untouchable, people,
start looking back at this crash from two years ago and saying could maybe this be an act of revenge
like could anthony mallory mylie morgan connor one of them have like done this as revenge against the
family um so now they're all being named as potential murderers too or suspects and is murdered
by the feelings too right it's like they just can't escape it they're being reported by like
online redditors and like sleuths and reporters as suspects and a double homicide
that they had nothing to do with.
Wow.
But when investigators approach Morgan at work without warning and request that she
provide them with hair and spit for DNA as well as fingerprints, she told them without hesitation,
do not overlook Alex Murdoch.
And I agree with her.
And that is the end of part one.
Wow.
This is a great one.
Good job, Christine.
It's going to be two parts, but like it's in, like when you're watching it and you're like, wait,
the housekeeper died.
That's that.
what? She died how? And then, oh,
wait, the sun? Wait.
And M, it gets crazier.
I can't believe I have to say that.
I believe the story gets crazier, but my
my guesses
on who is responsible,
don't feel too crazy. It's like,
yeah, the theories become more and more
narrowed to one particular theory.
The chaos just keeps expanding.
It's like, how far does this go? And how far
can you get away with it before things are going to
come back to you, you know?
And then it's like, it's like trying to fix
what you've fucked up, but like
fucking up more, you know? It's like that
thing, right? Like they're like creating more
violence and like issues
by trying to cover it up. Yeah, it's bad.
Oh my God. Yuck.
Well, thank you for that. I've
I have never heard of this.
I got to send you a picture these fucking people.
I can see them in my head.
I know. I feel
like, let me guess. There's a
lake or a pond right behind them.
Everything's green,
Golden Retriever with a band-a-rown-rater.
Golden Retrievers, for sure, American flags the whole nine yards.
White pants with like a woven belt and some wperies.
Oh, the woven belt, yeah.
But not sparries.
Like, it's the whatever ones you can't buy on the internet.
Oh, right, right, right.
Some shit like that.
Yeah.
Yeah, they're just.
But look, I'm going to show you the dad because talk about like someone who is suspicious.
A bad man.
A bad man.
A bad man.
And you see a picture and you're like, that's, okay, I'm so sorry.
I just have to do it.
Jump scares.
One glance was all I needed.
Please look up Alex Murdoch, people, if you'd want to know.
Like, he's so scary.
And then when he's in court and he's fake crying, it's like the most uncomfortable thing
to witness him fake cry.
Look at the snot coming off his nose.
It's like this sick narcissistic joke.
I can't even stand it.
I can't stand the man.
I mean, just looking into his dead fucking eyes tells me everything.
Yep, dead eyes.
He's got dead eyes.
He's got the eyes where you're like, that man, if I saw that man,
out and about. Like, that's what I mean when there's like this vibe when you're younger and you're like,
oh, I like to do some silly, risky things. But then you get to a point where you're like,
oh, even I know, this is bad news. And that's the kind of guy where you'd see out with friends and go,
actually, I'm going home. Like, this is bad news. For sure. Like, there's a, not to victim
blame because I wouldn't go home. I would probably continue on my way and party with these people or
whatever, and not necessarily. But you know what I mean? Like, I'm not saying, oh, they should have
known better. But I'm just saying 2020 hindsight, you look at this guy and go, oh, fuck. Yeah. No wonder
this house is haunted and terrible.
The, um, there's also pictures of him with his son.
Yeah.
Let's just put it there.
There are, they are.
Let's just say some things are hereditary, including maybe the really eerie oras we're talking about.
And like, then you think, well, this, this child has been, I mean, a young adult, but like was drinking, have been drinking since childhood, like, every day and like mistreated.
It's just all the sickness is coming out.
It's just hard.
It's one of those.
things about like, you know, killers were like, if they didn't do something so atrocious,
you could almost find a way to empathize with like the fact that they were doomed from the
start.
Right, right.
It's like, okay.
But you ended up going so far that I can't even have a feeling for you.
Like, yeah.
But it's.
You really see the spectrum of that.
Yeah.
It's, yeah.
I mean, all I'm thinking when I look at Paul is just like, like him laughing when
everyone's like freaking out wondering where she is.
And yeah.
And he just thinks it's funny.
And then he's like, oh, I wasn't driving.
He was driving.
And the fact that he was like a fucking terror to this poor woman.
And happy to do it.
Happy to do it.
And beating her.
Yeah.
Spitting on her?
Are you kidding me?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He's trash.
Oh, my fucking one.
It's just sad.
It's horrible.
It's sad.
It's fucked up.
I don't know.
It's just like all sorts of levels of.
Generational evil.
Correct.
Correct.
Correct.
Correct.
Correct.
Correct.
Correct.
Yeah.
So yeah, we'll get to part two next week.
But thanks everyone for tuning in.
Thanks.
And that's why we drink.
