Each episode features someone sharing their real-life paranormal encounter in their own words. From haunted houses to strange creatures, messages from beyond to UFO encounters, each story is sure to haunt you. Like David's story, he delivered mail to a bustling hotel in downtown L.A., but later learned it had been abandoned and condemned for years.
Starting point is 00:00:41 Or Jordan, who woke up in a historic hotel to find a goblin-like figure staring at her. And whatever it was, it followed her home. And Evan, who left the first responders who saved his life stunned after accurately recounting what happened while he was clinically dead. Ready for more? Listen to Tell Me Your Ghost Story Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your favorite podcast app. All right, Mom, I'm on it. I'm going to tell them how great Tumble is, okay? Oh, good.
Starting point is 00:01:11 Yeah, let me know about this experience. She got herself a condo. She's officially that retiree. The only thing she needed left was a big old rug. She was like, I just need something that'll tie the whole place together. It's a hard piece to shop for. It's a hard piece sometimes. And I said, well, Mom, funny you should mention that because we work with Tumble.
Starting point is 00:01:30 And did you know, that they have spillproof machine washable, integrated rug pad, non-toxic material, stylish rugs that you can just go shop for right now online and they'll just send it right over to you. Gonna have a glass of red wine, a bite of peanut butter? I don't know. You got to have a washable rug. The last time I was at that condo, there were three different times where people almost spilled red wine all over her like very white room. And I was like, oh my God, oh my God, my God. But then I would remember that the rug was. No, it like literally is meant to be washed. Yeah, it's really wild. Oh, my God. I was like, whew, don't worry everyone. Whoa, will they think of next? It's taken care of.
Starting point is 00:02:06 I'm telling you, it was probably one of the greatest gifts I could have given my mom to know that she has a rug. She could pour all her wine all over. So machine washable rugs made better for a limited time only. Our listeners get 10% off and free shipping at tumbleliving.com slash drink. That's T-U-M-B-L-Eiving.com forward slash drink. Starting point is 00:02:40 Rousing. Bebib-boo, bo-p-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-ep-ep-b-ep-ep-ep-ep-ep-ep-epo. Did you just say a rousing? A, stop it. A rousing October episode. And I know that this is technically... Zip recruiter.
Starting point is 00:02:59 This is technically the second episode of October. I forgot to decorate before our first one. So, we're doing it now. But anyway, Christine and I, before we even got on here. We realized something very important. Hey, we have to go. Hey, hi, everybody. Welcome to the episode. We actually have to go real quick. We have realized that neither of us took our meds today. So for all of you listening who think, oh, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. This is your moment when you're trying to push in. I'll do it later. I'll do it later. Do it right now. And what time is it for us?
Starting point is 00:03:27 It is. Well, for me, it's 2 p.m. So I really got to do this. It's 11 for me. You're 11. Okay. So yeah, it doesn't matter, folks. If you forgot, it's okay. Just, you know, take a moment. And drink a sip of water. Drink some water. Go take your meds. We will be right back. Elevator music. Everybody also note these are little ghosties. That's cute. But they're so subtly.
Starting point is 00:03:51 I might just keep them around forever. No, I actually really like them as just a background. Yeah, it looks like little lights unless you look closer. Ghost stories told here. I mean, couldn't be further from the truth. That's not right. Further from the falsehood. Further from fiction.
Starting point is 00:04:06 That's not a thing. I'm sorry. I just took my medicine and it's 202. Yeah. So sometimes it takes me a minute. Did everybody have a good, a little moment there? Do everybody take their stuff? Very proud of you? No, probably like 80% of them were like, we already did because we're, you know. Right. Good point. Responsible adults. Good point. Well, which I say, yeah, same most of the time. For the forgetful ones like us, I'm very proud of you. Because I'm sure you also need the validation. And for the one, not forgetful ones, I'm proud of you too, because that's good work. That's really hard to remember things all the time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:40 That sounded condescending, but I really meant it. Yeah, no, I felt it. I think we all felt it that like, yeah, it is hard to remember things. I feel like nobody talked about that. I feel like the generations before us never said those things out loud. And so I look immature by saying it, but I really think everyone just needs to hear it. But you're like speaking truth. Yeah, you're like just saying something that we're all like, yeah, why don't we say that ever?
Starting point is 00:05:01 You know, why don't we acknowledge that? It's so true. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Anyway, how are you, Christine? How, one, how are you two, why do you drink and what do you do you drink? and what do you drink? And three, unless this is the reason you drink, I would like to hear how Leon is doing as a five-year-old now.
Starting point is 00:05:17 Thank you so much for asking. That's absolutely why I drink. It's, we went through, yes, we went through the portal. Her birthday is 10-01, and I just love that. I'm like, ooh, 10-1, you know. And we- Very cool. Yeah, she turned five, and she was so delighted. And at school, they, like, at, like, her preschool,
Starting point is 00:05:38 they, like, announced it over the PA. system. Oh, she must have eaten that shit up. Oh, Blaze said, like, he was like, oh, shit, I meant to, like, he did, he, if he had known, he would have, like, taken a video, you know, but so, like, the little kid said, like, and happy birthday to Leona. And apparently she jumped, like, he's like, I've never seen her jump so high, like, her knees tucked all the way up. And she just, like, yelped with excitement. And she had, like, she's really, her birthday party is this weekend. And it is, like, blue and bingo themed. And so she had, like, a little bingo ears and, like, a party, purple party to-to dress. And I mean, she is a Leo moon and I've learned that that means. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:06:15 she needs a lot of sunshine on her, a spotlight. And we give her that. But she's also a double Libra. So she really likes to share the wealth. So when it's someone else's birthday, she's like, the first one to like plan the party, you know? So she just like loves to celebrate. And she's like in her element and her um sherry and lisa are in town so like she's like showing them and now that she's five she's like showing them all the things she does and i don't know it's really sweet i'm just she's just like and she apparently said i get to be five all day today and we were like girl you get to be five all day every day i can't wait to break the news to you tomorrow that year i know oh and then she was like we taught her about a half birthday and so she's like oh my god i'm counting down
Starting point is 00:06:59 to my and we were like oh god here we go yeah so now she's counting down to the house it begins but like we know this we're Gemini we we still do this I mean me and my we text each other on our half birthdays I literally say I get mad I know I'm crazy okay everyone leave me alone I literally got mad in the past for Allison not celebrating my half birthday with me because I was celebrating and I was like
Starting point is 00:07:19 I need you to care I need you to care and then one year she actually surprised me she like I remember that it was so fun it was wonderful like that was so fun and cute yeah yeah maybe we'll do that for Leonas half that's fun like a little half theme I what we we've started doing now is we'll give each other like half a cake, which means the other one gets the
Starting point is 00:07:37 other half. Or like, you're like, or like, right. You know how like on an envelope, but it'll just say like their name? Just write like half of it. Like, I like that a lot. Yeah. Um, it's a good time. Also, like, I know that also makes me sound probably like I would have not fit in in generations before me, but like you got to celebrate your half birthday. I don't care they're in your 30s. Like we need whimsy wherever we can find it at this point. Just like find something to celebrate, you know? Like, take Leanna's word for it. Just. Just. Say it over the PA system and we'll all get excited, you know, whatever it is. My 34 and a half birthday is coming up and I really need to like get it together.
Starting point is 00:08:11 Wow. Oh my God. I almost missed it. I know. Me too. But you're reminding me. It's in two months and one day, by the way, folks, as we were recording this. And mine is in two months and two days. Two days. Well, the problem is that every time M. texts me happy, have birthday. And I go, happy belated one by one day. Half birthday. I know it's your half birthday. I just like forget to text. you. But yeah, anyway. Wow. Yeah. So that's why I drink because it's like, I don't know. It's just like every time she gets like level, it's like something more delightful and exciting. And like she just is a delight. She makes me so happy. Well, also congratulations to you because that means five years of keeping someone alive. Very big deal. Thank you. It is. And like keeping them alive, but also like thriving, you know, which yeah, I'm just really
Starting point is 00:08:59 thankful. The rest is a bonus. I'm just proud you've kept someone alive. Thank you. Thank you. I just want to brag on the rest. But yeah, you're right. Let's celebrate every level. Yeah. The keeping alive was like for sure a celebration, you know. And I feel really accomplished about that. And I love the idea on a couple of my friends have babies with birthdays around this time. And I just love the idea of like when people say like happy birthday to the baby and also happy birthday to like you as the parent or the mom who like birthed a baby. You know, it's like what a day. Yeah. It's like you became a new person too. So. it just felt like a really like kind of nice little portal number 10.01. I was like, here we go. Five years old. And it is very fun. She's like just so fun. So that's my update and why I drink. She's a little she loves bingo and, you know, bluey bingo. So what is, what do you drink? Oh, I actually have my usual morning jolt smoothie, even though it's now two o'clock in the afternoon and I just took my zol off. But it's okay. You know, in our last episode, I had a milkshake at like 9 a.m. whatever or whatever. So. It's fine. This is a milkshake essentially, but it has coffee in it. So it's like the worst of both worlds. Sure. I was trying to help you out.
Starting point is 00:10:08 But you know what. I know. I was trying to also help myself out. And then I said something out loud and went, that doesn't help my case whatsoever. No, I just hope it's yummy. That's all it matters. And it's Friday for us. So like I'm.
Starting point is 00:10:18 That's right. That's right. I'm very excited that weekend's coming up. And today I have to make fucking favor bags, like party like a little favor bags. What's going in them? Not this weekend. Today. Oh, I got some good stuff.
Starting point is 00:10:30 I love to make a favor bag. I made a goody bad at my, um... You would make a fucking bomb-ass. Well, thank you. Here's the situation because I, again, bring whimsy back as adults. I, for my 28th birthday, I had, I gave favor bags to everybody. And everyone was like, whoa! It's like when we were kids.
Starting point is 00:10:49 And they were like things that like you could enjoy it, like, as an adult now. Like it was. Yeah. I've been to places. Like bringing that back. It's like a stalking at Christmas, you know? It's like, oh, how exciting. Like, what's in here?
Starting point is 00:10:59 Very California. I've been to a party where the favors that it was like, It was literally a goody bag and in there was like a joint. I'm like, oh, that's cool. Or like a little mini bottle of booze or something. I'm like, wow, they really did it up. I mean, I do that for stockings too. Yeah, like little weed gummies and stuff.
Starting point is 00:11:13 So what did you put in, for what are your, what are your things for her? Not weed gummies to clarify real quick before that crossover of a vocabulary happens. Who Chris Hanson walks in or something. Yeah. Yeah, like not on my watch. I thought you were interviewing M a minute ago. I thought I was safe. I fear you would say that.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Sometimes that clip just makes me laugh. I think about it. I get it. It's very funny. It's funny. Because I was like, yeah, good idea. And then you were like, wait. He's only ever interviewed one time of person. Yeah, that would be quite a turn.
Starting point is 00:11:42 Anyway, okay, sorry. Oh, I'm putting in, I found these like little lollipops that are like blue and bingo lollipops. I mean, the internet has everything for blue and bingo. Like, I was very lucky because she had some very niche themes before she really landed on blue bingo. And we were like, oh, I don't know about like purple and green. butterfly with sparkles on one half of the wing or something. And we were like, okay, we, you know, that's, that's an exaggeration. That's not quite what it was. But I mean, I'd be that way. I get it. Yeah, I was like, okay, we'll do that. But then she said bluey and we were like,
Starting point is 00:12:13 oh, thank God. That's so easy. We already have half the shit, you know. I kind of wish that we could have, um, that we could be kids now because we were kids pre internet and like the things that you would get in a goody bag were so repetitive because it was probably all from the same three stores. Like I can't imagine the creativity. Now you can get creative. And I love like the ones where it's just like something kind of like not junk you know junkie plastic but i mean you know that's fun too but like when it's like something kind of special i don't know like sometimes i go to parties like as an adult and they have like a little plant like a little um like for one party for leona like you could decorate like a little potted plant you know and take it like a little succulent you know i think
Starting point is 00:12:49 that's kind of fun like something you can use um but i've gotten less i have less time on my hands and less energy uh so we're not doing paint your own succulents we're doing like lollipops and It's a great idea, though. Oh, red balloons for keep yuppie, you know, like stuff like that. Is there, um, did you have a favorite growing up, like the one that you always hoped was in a bag? Because mine was the sticky hand. I was about to say, of course I bought sticky hams. Okay, cool.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Because, and then in the show, there's like sticky gecko is one of the episodes. So it's like, it was really fun. So creative. Well, you know, people have created them all. And I'm like, you're all so clever, you know, so it was fun to, like, curate it, you know. I thought you were the one I was complimenting you I thought you were the one
Starting point is 00:13:32 who came up with that idea people were like had already created all this and I was like that's so clever amazing that's so cool wow yeah so it was fun
Starting point is 00:13:40 so I have to make those tonight which is what I'm saying is why I'm drinking my morning Joel to like 2 o'clock in the afternoon because I'm going to be planning you know for the big day tomorrow there's like 20 kids coming
Starting point is 00:13:52 and I'm like what the F it's like I mean I'm sorry but also how cool that you're like you've got to kid who just like wants to have so many friends like I'm so I'm so my god this is so great yeah I'm so proud of her no that's awesome she's like so like just herself you know why do you drink slash what do you drink I drink a tea which came with a pink straw today which has ever happened so I feel like
Starting point is 00:14:16 mine is yellow stocked oh what color would that make like a like a candelope oh that's a pretty like a melon yeah that's a nice color sunset situation we probably make brown yeah but in our minds it's really pretty. I drink, well, honestly, right now, I don't know what's going on. I have, like, a headache. I'm just, like, kind of feeling kind of lech. So I'm hoping it's not the beginning of something. I think everybody has something weird, like congestion-wise right now, I feel like.
Starting point is 00:14:42 As long as congestion leaves me alone, that's my biggest enemy when I'm sick. Mine is sore throat. Can't do it. I hate a sore throat, but I'd take that any day over not being able to breathe because that balloons into four days of different steps of things. You're constantly uncomfortable. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:01 But no, I just, I have a headache. It probably is just like a normal, like I just probably need to eat some fucking food headache. But, um... That couldn't be it. But so I, I drink for that. I drink, uh, because Hank is really going through a really insane barking phase right now that is not cute. So is Gio and I was literally Googling like dog trainers and I was like, what's happening? Like, he's losing it.
Starting point is 00:15:24 We literally just completed dog training. So he's technically a graduate, but he's still. you think happened? I have no idea. I mean, he's, I just don't know how to get him to stop. Like, I just, I mean, the dog trainer has given us some, like, tips. But, like, I was really hoping there'd just be an off switch to this thing versus, like, redirecting him. But I know, it's like.
Starting point is 00:15:45 Yeah, I have no idea what's going on. It's something in the air, I guess. Yeah, no, Jesus gotten bad. And I'm like, you're 10 years old. I thought we really worked on it. Like, we worked so hard on it. We really. And I know he barked sometimes during the episodes, but, like, I don't know if you guys
Starting point is 00:15:58 listen, like, he doesn't bark as much as he used to, really, at all. No, he, lately. The first few years was a, every time we walked by, we would, like, a nightmare. We would stop speaking and, like, just stare at each other and hope he didn't make a noise. And just be like, one, two, yeah. But now, it's like when a train goes by in those old shows where, like, the whole house shakes and you have to hold all the plates for a second.
Starting point is 00:16:20 What am I talking about? Nobody knows. No, I totally know. Em does. Totally good. But yeah, so I don't know. He just started barking again. And I was like, I don't, this is not for me.
Starting point is 00:16:30 We really worked on this so hard, you know, and I, I really did try. Well, we live in an area that's also, um, similar to you. It's very walkable. And so there's just like always, I know. He doesn't care about little dogs at all, but I think that's because I socialized him with, we would go to the, we have two dog parks near us and one of them is for small and shy dogs. Right, right. At the time, he was scared of everything.
Starting point is 00:16:54 So he became friends with all these small dogs. But I think I deprived. time of getting to know big dogs. And so now every time a big dog comes by, he freaks the fuck out. That's that. Yep. Gio has a similar thing. And so it's that. And then anything with a really loud motor, like, you know, like those motorcycle or car guys who just fly by. Or it revs or whatever. I think it's startles him and his reaction is to just like bark at it. But I guess we've just seeing a lot of big dogs and motorcycles lately. And he just, I'm losing my mind. So it's like a Richard Scary book. Yeah. Yes. That's exactly right.
Starting point is 00:17:27 That might be a more whimsical. If you ever are having a meltdown, you're like, how do I reframe this? No, yeah. Picture yourself as lowly worm. Thank you. Just sitting in my apple, my car. Just rolling around. I, but no, so that's why I drink.
Starting point is 00:17:42 I also, I'll just say it quickly because we also talk about it in an ad. So I feel like it would, it would be weird to not address it here. Oh, we go. Oh, thank God. Okay, good. I had a dream forever ago that a family member was going to die this week. Straight into the, just straight into it. This week.
Starting point is 00:17:57 this past week that we've already experienced it's already happened so the person survived and thankfully it was just a dream however this dream was very vivid it was eight years ago and in the dream I watched this person tragically tragically violently pass away in front of me and then in your arms I think in my arms you're right and and then a person in the dream said this person will die eight years from today and then I woke up so like looked and in the face and said this will happen and eight years. I mean, and by the way, and by way, for a long time. M told me about this years ago and I like was really like, oh my gosh, of course. But then of course at the time, it was like, we were like, well, it's so far away.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Like, we'll never even be alive by then, you know, and now we're like an M the other day. Like I had not on my radar right. The other day, M goes, hey, Christine, so do you remember that dream? And I went, oh my God. And I'm goes, it's this week. And I was like, oh my God, oh my God, it's happening. And I was like, I know this is crazy. And I was like, it's not. It's not. I literally, I thought for a second about like, you know, I was like, do I warn them? Do I say anything? I know. Because it's like, and then it's like, like, like you said like the back to the future,
Starting point is 00:19:03 the like time travel conundrum of like, am I causing it by reacting to it? By showing up or by knowing it. Is it going to mess it up? Is it going to. Oh my God. Oh my God. It's been. And for a long time, I just saw like, oh, maybe it was just a dream.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Like at least don't have to worry about it yet. Ha, ha, ha. But then like in the last two weeks, I was like, oh shit. It's happening. Like, and then all the panic hit me. And I was like, I said this. Yeah. And I said this two, which is like of all years that it like this year, it's like, oh,
Starting point is 00:19:28 all bets are fucking off. You don't even know what the fuck's around the corner, let alone like a dream's going to come true. Least surprising thing happening of 2026 fire horse year. Yeah. So I was like, you handle that. You do whatever's best. But yeah, but things are good, right? We're good.
Starting point is 00:19:43 It was, it's been a scary week and everything's good now. But I, it was, it was, I was trying to figure out like, do I say anything? And throughout the years, by the way, I have asked, like, it's a crazy question. If someone knew when you were going to die, would you want them to tell you? Like, as a fun hypothetical. And they were like, no, why would I want that? And I went, okay, good to know. Good to know.
Starting point is 00:20:05 Just taking a quick note. Don't feel bad about not telling them. Great, great, great. Okay. But I also didn't want to say anything and, like, panic them for eight fucking years, you know? I know. It's like, how much do I, and like, what if it's just a weird dream? But then, like, I mean, we talked about how you were like, it was like so vivid and
Starting point is 00:20:22 It was so unsettling and like you could so vividly remember it that I was like, I don't know. I mean, maybe it was literally just meant to put you on a different pathway. Who knows? Who knows? But I don't discount shit like that, you know? I don't think any of us do. I mean, to this, maybe it's because I've thought about it for so long. But I have, they say like after the first 10 minutes of waking up, you've already forgotten 90% of your dreams.
Starting point is 00:20:43 But like, this is eight years later. I remember every moment of that fucking dream because I've just been thinking about nonstop. Yeah. I think we had to record the very next day. And I was like, guess what kind of dream I had last night? Yeah, and I was like, hey, put that in your calendar. Oh, we talked about it. You were like, I already did.
Starting point is 00:20:57 I literally said, just so you know, on this day, 2026, I'm not going to be free. So. I was like, yeah, I don't know what the fuck I'll be up to. Man. It was wild. But so luckily, it was somehow just a dream and fuck me for like my stupid brain creating a horrible story like that. Don't.
Starting point is 00:21:15 Don't worry. It's listening. No, no. I'm saying like, truly, like, if I could give myself the middle finger of like, why did I just torture myself for eight years? Why did I come up with that? And for all I know tomorrow, there'll be another dream and says, just kidding, it was this day. I meant to say nine years.
Starting point is 00:21:31 Anyway, so I am not as psychic as you thought. That's the takeaway. I mean, I still think you are. And I think that, like, this was some sort of weird, like, you, I don't know what. I don't know. But it clearly had an effect and created its own timeline. I don't know. Like, you had your own journey with it.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Maybe I just changed time. And I don't even know. Who knows? Who knows? Yeah. I feel like we were all kind of shuttled into like just a bank, a banking situation when we were like young adults. And then it's like, we don't know what we're doing and now. And then we're stuck.
Starting point is 00:22:02 But that's where Chime comes in. We were so excited to learn about Chime. Chime is changing the way people bank. We always say we wish we had had it sooner. And I contemplated this one for a while because there were a few I was going to pick from. But I thought you would probably just want the most ridiculous one. So that's what we're going with. Yay. Why would you think that about me? Well, so you... That doesn't sound like me. I will say, Christine, you only have a few episodes left, so I needed to make sure that I squeezed in one last ghost adventures for you. Aww, for me?
Starting point is 00:23:36 And so I watched many of them. Like, this has been like an ongoing watch party for me. And I'm like... Wow, that was really brave of you and also like so noble and like... That's me. You know. Well, it gave me a good reason to just watch Zach Began's. I mean, that's what I did when I was, like, doing that pregnancy.
Starting point is 00:23:53 I know we just talked about that. A pregnancy is honest. I watched like six seasons straight just to find like the word pregnant and I didn't find it. But I watched like six seasons. I was like, I'm working really hard. And Blaze would always be like, are you working? Are you okay? No.
Starting point is 00:24:07 Well, I so, okay, so you get it. Perfect. And I was like, I know, again, I already said it like, technically October, spooky season started last week. But I did not know. I didn't pay attention to that on the calendar. So now everything's decorated. And I'm like, now's the time that I should tell you a ghost adventure story to really pickoff spooky season. Oh, we're here. Let's do it. So, um, this is just honestly, I was trying to find
Starting point is 00:24:29 when I could go look up other information on the location. I ended up just going with an episode where all I'm doing is a ghost adventures recap episode for you. Um, I am, I'm, what did the kids say? I'm sat. Yeah, I'm sure you're fine with it. But, um, I did plan on doing like a whole set of notes for a location. And then I watched this episode and I was like, this is silly. And I'll just, we'll just do this. Yay. Okay. So this is the terror on 25th Street. Ooh. And it's season 28, episode two. Sounds terrible. It was, you know, I was trying to find one where he at least does something kind of ridiculous. And so that's how we got here. I watched. Oh, it was hard to find. I'm sure. I was hard to find one where he did something ridiculous. I was trying to pick between would you
Starting point is 00:25:13 one scary or silly and I was like, I just want to make fun of Zach Bagan's with you one last time. So that's all I want to do. One last time on air. So let's see. This. This. is the terror on 25th Street and the crew I guess is going to be exploring two locations which are they're very conveniently two buildings connected to each other. Okay, well that is convenient. Yeah. He kept saying two buildings and I was like, it is one building. But he's like, we have to make sure they know it's two. I don't know why, but it's important. They know it's not just one. Now this is something where I am being a little unnecessarily judgy, but I want your take on it, or at least I want your takeaway to be when I watch another
Starting point is 00:25:53 episode, I'm going to keep my eye on this. Okay. I've noticed throughout the years as we get closer and closer to present day, something's going on with Zach's voice compared to what's already going on with Zach's voice. What could that possibly mean? Please speak on that. I cannot wait. I thought that I must have had my like playback speed at like 0.5 because he was really talking. Is it like a newer episode or an older episode. Newer. It's season 28. So he's just slowing the fuck down? And I don't know if this is like a choice or if it's happened. I don't know what's going on, but I'm yeah. Like, and I'm, I don't, I'm not trying to be, I'm really not trying to be a sparaging. I was actually worried when I heard it. And it only happened for one scene. So I really was worried about you, Zach. He was, it was just oddly slow. And like, I know we make fun of him for being kind of like bellowing and all that. But this was just a speed I hadn't heard him at. And then the next. And then the next. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. scene he was totally fine. So for I know he was like maybe like having fun. I don't know what was going on that led to him. Maybe the editors being kind of zonked out. Maybe it was just editing. Maybe the editors were like we actually are a little early on commercial. Let's just slow down the
Starting point is 00:27:02 Zach roll. Yeah. You know, they probably do that all the time. Like just do point eight. No one will notice. You know when you like increase the size of the periods in your essay to make the like text longer. Maybe that's what they're doing. They just slow it down. They're like no one will notice. I and I did. Um, did. Maybe they went. pushed it too far, you know. That makes me wonder, like, have they just slow down his voice in every scene he's ever done? Because, to us, that's normal. Whoa, that could just be an effect this whole time.
Starting point is 00:27:28 And maybe he talks like this all the time. But we just went there. He's like, I can't, I can't sound like that on the, please slow down. Yeah. Anyway, I really do hope he's okay. It really did actually start. Please slow it down. What?
Starting point is 00:27:42 Please slow it down. I really, I got really, I was like, I hope he's okay. Anyway, he ended up seeming fine every other scene. So I have a feeling that he was probably just really tired or not on the job or something when that happened. But it starts out interesting. So there's that. Before they actually have a meeting with the owner for this walkthrough, the first thing, one of the first things, Zach says, oddly slow. All that I know is that this location is literally soaked in blood.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Literally. What? Okay. And I was like, okay, dude. All I know, that's all you know. What are you talking about? You just said it's two buildings. So you know that. I think what he meant was like before I go into the meeting with this guy. Oh, I see. Okay. Okay. Okay. So he goes, he walks into a bar to meet one of the owners named Jackie. And this is where like I'm just like being silly about it. But like, I clearly haven't watched recent C. of Ghost Adventures. Why? It's all just clearly a set with, like, dramatic lighting. Like, he's not just walking into a bar anymore going, I'm here tonight at this saloon. Oh, they, like, set up, like, a whole thing where he sits down and does an interview. I've seen that.
Starting point is 00:29:05 Yeah, it's crazy. Every shot is, like, this cinematic experience where, like, the lights are way too fucking low. Cinematic experience. Yes, it is. A cinematic experience. He goes into this bar. You can tell every fucking person in there was paid.
Starting point is 00:29:18 to be a background actor. Like that was not just like the locals. Well, he probably had costuming for all of them. You know how he likes to dress people up as extras that work there? He loves it. But so it was just the whole thing just felt so overly produced. Like it was like you weren't, he didn't just go into a bar. He went into a bar that closed for the day so they could set up all the lighting and put
Starting point is 00:29:39 all the right people in. So that also speaks to the voice slowing down. It speaks to like artistic license, I think on his part, don't you think? Like especially because with all these seasons, Senatores belt, you know, he's probably been given more leeway to direct his own stuff. Sure. Like, I mean, not that I think that, like, he didn't have a say because clearly he had a fucking say in past seasons.
Starting point is 00:29:58 But, like, maybe now he's like, I kind of get to do what I want because, like, I basically own this channel, you know? Yeah. Like, I wonder. I wonder. And I, I can understand him saying, like, I wanted. Allegedly. I could see him saying I wanted to look a little swankier or something.
Starting point is 00:30:12 But, like, I kind of, I mean, there's a reason all of his best hits episodes are like. something about going into just a bar and being like, hey, everybody. And they're like, who are you? Are you, Zach Begins? And he's like yapping it up with everybody, you know, like, and the candy store. And they're like, can you please leave, sir? We didn't invite you behind the counter. Exactly. Those moments are candid and beautiful. They could not, in this episode with the way it was produced, they could not recreate that candy store episode. See? And like that, that was art, you know. That was art. I have IBS. Okay. I have. Yeah, I don't want my diverticulat. I have. I have.
Starting point is 00:30:47 Farah, or I'm trying to, what did he say? It's cut, it's bulking season. So I will only be eating one carmel turtle. He made it very clear that he has his tummy troubles with sugar. No, it's because he was eating sugar free only. Because he's, he doesn't eat sugar because he's fucking Zach Baggins and he's cutting weight or whatever the fuck. Right, right, right. He's trying to get lean muscle mass, I bet.
Starting point is 00:31:07 And then he like, anyway, go on. I'm going to stop. I, I, we're on the same page. So, um, he walks through a bar into the bar, the very produced bar with all the background actors and the only person that was not a background actor was the owner. And the owner tells him that 25th Street that they're on. This is an Ogden, Utah, by the way, in case I didn't say that. Oh, okay. And so 25th Street apparently was, quote, the most sinful town in the country, which I guess depending on the year might be true, but I feel like everywhere I go, I hear someone
Starting point is 00:31:39 say that. Didn't you say that about Cincinnati? Newport, Kentucky. Not Cincinnati. Newport. Yeah, exactly it's like but they were like we were the original sin city i'm like uh-huh although i to be fair zach begens when he went to bobby mackies he literally talked about that and he lives in Vegas and he said like newport kentucky was considered to sin city and i was like honestly if he said it i feel like for once i do agree with what he has to say i love when we get to give him credit he's wise for a moment you know what i mean he uh i guess maybe like this was a a year where Sin City was taking a break and now this is the most sinful town in the country. It could happen.
Starting point is 00:32:19 It could happen. But mainly the reason why they say it got so crazy over there is because this was where the Transcontinental Railroad met. So this was the first time that the East and the West were joining. Chattanooga, Tucho. Sorry, that was an intrusive thought. But keep it in, for sure. I tried and it came out anyway.
Starting point is 00:32:43 Sorry. Can you do the Chattanooga sound? The, the, to make it sound like a train. Chattanooga, Chattanooga, Chattanooga, Chattanooga, Chattanooga. What? I didn't even know that's the thing. A lot of people if they're trying to, a lot of people, people I went to kindergarten with. A lot of people are doing people. Well, they're not doing it now.
Starting point is 00:33:01 But I feel like it was. It was a thing on the playground. Where you would try to mimic a train and the trick was you'd just say Chattanooga a million times. Oh, everybody's doing it. Maybe it's because I shared a border with Tennessee. So maybe that, maybe it was just a spillover from Tennessee. Track 29. Anyway, next time you would impress somebody with your train sounds, you just start saying Chattano.
Starting point is 00:33:29 Is that not what's happening right now? Oh, right. Sorry. Okay. You're right. You're right. I'll see the Chattanooga part underneath. And then you just sing the Chattanooga song.
Starting point is 00:33:36 Now that's sexy. It's something. It's something. So, okay, this is when the east and the west joined, Chattanooga or something. Ogden, Utah. Hell yeah. But lots of craziness began because all of a sudden these people are like, not that they're meeting for the first time, like there was a full on wall between them, but now they're
Starting point is 00:33:57 able to go in between each other a lot. They're like, go into each other's towns. Crossing streams. No horses needed. And basically because so many people were just piling in and out of this area, it just got real nutty. There was like a red light district that opened very quick. there was a lot of
Starting point is 00:34:15 a lot of violence, a lot of like bar fights. Nuddy. Nuddy. And one of these brothels was in the building that they're going to be staying in tonight,
Starting point is 00:34:27 one of the two buildings. Oh boy. The madam, her name was Rose Davies, and she opened the Rose Room in the 40s. I like this. The Rose Room sounds cool. Love it. And it was very successful.
Starting point is 00:34:41 She was on the second floor of the building, and the first floor, which is the bar that they met in, it was also a bar back then. So it was a bar on the bottom and then a brothel on top. And the owner emphasizes when she's having this interview with Zach, she's like, there were many murders that happened here. Oh, dear. And he's like, so it's soaked in blood.
Starting point is 00:35:06 And she's like, well, there were many murders. He's like, so it's literally soaked in blood. Yeah, but say it's slower. Oh, right. Sorry. Oh, sorry, slow me down. Let me at him. Let me at him.
Starting point is 00:35:19 No wonder. Scrappy doo. Why, I ought to. I feel like that's why he's so. Doesn't he give scrappy doo vibes though? Like, you know. Absolutely. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:35:28 He gives scrappy doo vibes. I'm just like that is so profound. Christine. No, what you're saying is absolutely, I'll carry that with me. Thank you. I feel like he has such a problem with Aaron because Aaron knows his real voice. Don't you tell them, Aaron. Don't you do it.
Starting point is 00:35:45 Get in the basement. right now. Sorry. What did you just say? Can you say that a little? I can't hear you through your gas mask. You know, then it sounds like,
Starting point is 00:35:58 we're going to get sued, bro. We're going to get so fucking soon. Finally. That's my last. That's my last hurrah. This is the last time we ever talk about Zach Vegas. Literally,
Starting point is 00:36:14 you would be on the show. Oh, my God. Remember we always said, Em always said one day. His name will just be completely bleeped out of everything and you'll know what has happened. You'll know. And we won't be able to confirm her to deny, but please read the room.
Starting point is 00:36:26 Please read the fucking, the rose room. The rose room. So, uh, so fucking dumb. It's so stupid. If there's one thing I know about him, it's dead. It's two buildings.
Starting point is 00:36:41 Not one. Two. Did you tell them it was two? Let me at him. This is what gets us to do, no doubt. Like, it's anything. Nothing else we've done. You can say anything else about him, but the second you laugh at him, just like any man, it's over.
Starting point is 00:37:04 I mean, the second we mock the voice. Oh, the muscle. Oh. Man. Yeah. We're in trouble. It's over for us. If we make it past this episode, I think we're fine.
Starting point is 00:37:16 I think we've done it. I just like, I just like, I just keel over. the government has just, you know, had some implanted. She knows too much. She knows too much. For a second I thought about like black smoke would leave and he'd go, the final entity. The final entity has left. I've finally been freed.
Starting point is 00:37:41 I'm losing hearing. I'm laughing so hard. So stupid. Oh my God. Okay. I'm like about to start crying Oh my god We're gonna get sued
Starting point is 00:38:02 I can't wait I'm sweating So there's been many He's like let's overproduce this entire thing That'll help Oh no So Anyway I don't even know where anybody where
Starting point is 00:38:20 There's this fucking This building that's two buildings One is now known as the alleged And one of them is known as the Helena Hotel. The alleged? Like, that's the name of it? Literally, alleged bar. Oh, oh, bar.
Starting point is 00:38:34 Okay, okay. I see, I see, I see. They're like alleged. I don't know. He's pronounced it alleged. Okay. Alleged. I'm so glad that I listened to him because my first thought was the Helena Hotel and
Starting point is 00:38:47 alleged. And then he went, Helena Hotel and alleged. And I went, okay. Twist it and reverse it. Wrong. So, yeah. Okay, so there's the alleged and there's the Helena Hotel. The Helena Hotel is a lofts, Airbnb kind of hotel situation.
Starting point is 00:39:05 And in the basement, there's a speakeasy bar, like a current speakeasy bar. And it's called the unspoken. Wow. That's right down, Sacks Alley. And for the unspoken and for the alleged to be right next to each other and one of them was a brothel at some point. Like, this is, he's really loving it. When I went to Eva's wedding. I was so excited because I was like, oh, this is kind of a theme sort of.
Starting point is 00:39:29 Like, we were both like kind of on theme with like, ooh, it's like kind of discoy cowboyy. Like there's just, it was a fun, it was a fun thing to dress up for. And so for the trip, I was like, ooh, daily look was the perfect thing because it was like horseshoe cardigan and like the layers. And I am not really able to spend time shopping nowadays because I have other things going on like a child who turned five yesterday. And all of a sudden I'm like, oh, I have all these cute like current pieces that I can take and go on a trip and be like, oh, who me? Yeah. Oh, this old thing that I just got from Esperanza,
Starting point is 00:40:00 my stylist at Daily Look, it's no big deal. She just knows me so well. And it makes me feel like a cool mom. Em, thank you for saying that earlier. You're welcome, cool mom. I remember. I'm sort of a joke, but you know. No, I saw you, I think at the welcome dinner and I said like, oh my God, I love what you're wearing. Starting point is 00:40:47 so that they know that we sent you. One last time, dailylook.com, promo code drink. So totally The owner of alleged His name's Jared And he said the second That he bought the building He thought it was cursed
Starting point is 00:41:00 But which like why did you buy it then? Good Did you like not see it? I'm pretty sure it's cursed Yeah That's a classic Jared move He literally said he was like They told me that it was in such disrepair
Starting point is 00:41:11 That if it caught on fire to just let it burn And then I bought it And he's like I knew it was perfect for me So he says When they bought it He noticed that the stairs Between the two floors
Starting point is 00:41:22 was fucking missing as if someone was trying to seal up the brothel. So it would just when you were in there would look like a ceiling and you wouldn't know there was another room on top. Oh, they were like no entry to the upstairs. Oh, creepy. So that becomes a thing that Zach talks about. He's like, why did they try to seal this up? And he looks at the walls and where they sealed up the wall.
Starting point is 00:41:39 So obviously they've put it in stairs sense. But they keep talking about how someone tried to seal up the brothel. And I was thinking like, oh, because it's so like dastardly and sexy and we have to hide it from everybody. he was thinking we have to seal it up because so much evil happened there I think that's the vibe that I was getting the demons are all up there right so then I was thinking like the floorboards are probably like covered in rusty nails and stuff it's in such disrepair we should let it burn disrepair correct right maybe the stairs are fell hey the stairs are missing let's not go up there oh so it has been renovated since Jared started working there since Jared bought it he's been renovating it and Zach goes up the stairs the new stairs he goes up the stairs he goes up the stairs he goes up the to the Rose Room and all he says, quick little clip, this is where all the sex would happen. I am sorry, this is a new season. 28. Yeah, it's a newer season. Yeah. This is where all this is happening. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:42:39 My God, it's getting so much worse. It's getting more. Oh, oh, I'm starting to get. Sorry, Disney, don't sue me. Don't sue me, Disney. Yeah, now with that we're not ready for. So he says this is where all the sex would happen. And then I'm assuming nobody said anything because the cut, it cuts away immediately. There's nothing more. What else is there to say, frankly? That's probably, I mean, and then they just put a nice little pen in it and just change topic.
Starting point is 00:43:05 So now everywhere that people go in this hotel or in this combined building, they see a woman wandering around in a long dress, especially in the unspoken speakeasy bar. People have worked down there by themselves, which is problem number one. and when they're down there cleaning or whatever, they'll turn around and there's just a woman there standing and staring at them or like just darting past the door. Yuck. Cool.
Starting point is 00:43:29 Yuck. I'd be like, that's my one and only time I'm down there alone. I finally watched Obsession. Mm-hmm. Did you see that? Well, let's make that our yappy hour. Fantastic. I have seen it.
Starting point is 00:43:41 I've seen it twice. So just just move this, some of that spooky. Perf. So, okay, people see a woman all over, both of the buildings. And then Zach, of course, is like, well, why is she over here if the brothel was in the other building? And he thinks now that because that brothel closed and the whole place was in disrepair, she saw a hotel right next door and kind of moved her business on over to the other building where there are still rooms. And she's like, oh, there's no stairs, but that's not a problem. I'll just
Starting point is 00:44:10 fly up there. Flood on under the wall. So one employee also talks about how one time she was walking through the unspoken basement speakeasy. And she couldn't see anything for some reason. So she turned on a flashlight and realized she'd been walking through pillars of black smoke and mist. Ew. Hate that. And then what she didn't know was that there was a plumber who did renovations years before
Starting point is 00:44:35 and they interviewed him. And he said something very similar that he was down there and there would be like puffs of smoke in the air that would like almost jellyfish propel themselves across the wall. Gross. Oh, ew, they're like their propulsion. Yeah. Yuck. So there's some sort of like intelligent black smoke.
Starting point is 00:44:52 That is so creepy that it like is sentient. Yeah. Yeah. I think it was black smoke. I don't even have seen some of these stupid episodes all of a sudden. Everything. Yeah. I mean, that sounds like a good guess.
Starting point is 00:45:05 After this interview, Zach, it cuts, the camera cuts to Zach lying on the sidewalk outside. Oh. Because he feels like he was. This is where the sex would happen. He turned he said that he felt like he was being stabbed in the stomach Oh my God He's like as soon as I left the building I felt like I got stabbed in the stomach He probably ate too many of those fucking gummy bears, those sugar-free turtles
Starting point is 00:45:31 I feel like I'm stabbed in the stomach as like Eminems are falling out of his pocket Eating all that sugar-free candy So that was just Had we been sitting next to each other when that episode came on You would have absolutely been like Why are you on the sidewalk, Zach? Oh my God, he's on the floor. Get off the ground.
Starting point is 00:45:49 He also said something like, oh, well, you know, that's because there's been so many stabbings in the spa. Obviously, I'm having residual pain. So during lockdown, Zach tries asking Rose, like the madam, oh, are you now working at the Helena lofts since they still have rooms? And it doesn't really get anything. But he then decides, how about we go into a bed and we. lie down and we see what we get. So Zach puts on a and puts on all of his devices and says, Rose, are you running a brothel in this hotel now? And then the machine spike. Then he says, Rose, can I lay down in the bed and the EMF spikes? Zach gets in the bed. He throws a shitload of
Starting point is 00:46:33 cash all over the bed. Yep. He's been waiting for this. To simulate, you know, whatever Rose. What it would have been like. But also if Rose is the madam, she's not doing anything except collecting the money, right? Who does he? think he is that he gets to just go into her bedroom or whatever and be like let me lay in your bed and throw money at you that's not like stop it like literally a wad of cash just and like sprinkled it everywhere doing right so then he while he's sprinkling the cash over the bed he asks rose if she wants to lay in bed with him um okay i got to be honest rose is that girl because she didn't respond to anything and they had like yes the sLS camera on him and everything and she's like she's like
Starting point is 00:47:15 Like the last time I tried to say no, it went, eh, and you got into my bed. So I'm actually going to say nothing. Because whatever I respond, like, that thing just bleeps red. Good point. Like, how do you know if it's yes or no? She didn't respond at all. And there was nothing that came up on the camera. And Zach sat there for a while.
Starting point is 00:47:31 And then, like, you could tell he started feeling like rejected. And he later ends up just straight up saying, I feel rejected. And he's like, maybe I'm just not her type. And he's like, okay. Okay. Hey. So then he says, Aaron. maybe you're her type, you get in bed.
Starting point is 00:47:47 Let's switch spots. So now he's standing in the room and Aaron lies in bed. What is going on with these people? And so get this. As soon as Aaron gets into bed, the SLS camera catches someone laying in the bed with him. This is what sends Zach over the edge because he's like, oh, I feel rejected. Oh my God, this fucking baby. Come on.
Starting point is 00:48:09 Let Aaron have something. Like, you're always player one, you know? let Aaron have some... Right now, Aaron is about to be Player 1 because the figure then begins to move around as if grabbing all the cache on the bed, like the hands are moving around where all the cash is. What the fuck?
Starting point is 00:48:25 And then the figure begins reaching and grabbing at Aaron and then immediately the image, the stick figure, is laying directly on top of Aaron. Holy crap. And then, of course, like, this is the scene where like, if you're gonna... This is the scene that made me think, I have to tell Christine about this as the topic. Because
Starting point is 00:48:43 he loses his fizzucking marbles. He, like, Zach is, this is a quote from him. Whereas giddy as schoolboys, yuck. Woof! He's literally, I'm not kidding. I tried to screen record it and like, obviously, like, there were protections against that so I couldn't. But he's literally jumping up in there.
Starting point is 00:49:01 Jumping up and down and doing this. Like, he's so excited. And he's just screaming. She's mounting you. She's mounting him. She's mounting him. Please. Please don't.
Starting point is 00:49:11 It just kept screaming. screaming it. And like, I will say if I were there, everyone was giggling because it just looked funny, but he was really just, just having a time with this footage.
Starting point is 00:49:23 Straight to jail. He, uh, so he's jumping up and down when this thing, so it grabs up for all the money, then it reaches out to Aaron, then it's laying on top of Aaron. And while Zach is screaming, she's mounting you,
Starting point is 00:49:34 Aaron. The figure then still laying on top of Aaron seems to be moving around, reaches for his arms, looks like she's holding his arms down while he's lying down in bed. Then she's touching his stomach and his thighs. And then the stick figure's arms grab the headboard. So talking about Aaron being like,
Starting point is 00:49:57 my number, player number one. I just feel so dirty to say. But like, God. You know that's how Zach saw it. Zach's feeling that right now. Wow.
Starting point is 00:50:06 That is, um, I don't know how to, I don't know how to feel about it. I do. Bad. I certainly felt like I shouldn't have been watching it. I wish I didn't know about it. Does that help?
Starting point is 00:50:17 Yeah. Too bad. Too bad. Too bad. Too late. Also, like, weird, awkward moment. Like, this is clearly before, like, the drama with Aaron because then he says, like, my wife's not going to like this. And I went.
Starting point is 00:50:29 Oh, yeah. That's tough. Yeah. That was quite. Yeah. But it was one of those things were, like, you wouldn't know in the moment. But when you hear it later, you go, ooh, whoa. Right.
Starting point is 00:50:39 Right. Out of contact. Yeah. Yeah. 100%. So then. So then. they're like jumping up and down so excited that like they're watching this happen to Aaron.
Starting point is 00:50:49 God, ew. Then the stick figure lays back down in the bed next to Aaron and literally I don't know how it's to describe it. It looks like she's stereotypically smoking a cigarette. Whoa. No shit. And then at some point like Aaron's holding some sort of equipment and like Zach runs over to grab the equipment from him.
Starting point is 00:51:08 But because he gets near the bed, immediately the stick figure goes away. It's like you again. Oh my God. This fucking guy won't leave him alone. Wants nothing to do with him. So I'm not trying to say woo-hoo for Aaron because it's still like I don't know how consensual any of that was. Yeah, this is all really weird. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:26 But at the very least, woo-hoo that Zach had a humbling moment, a little ego death on camera. An ego death and ego death in a brothel, yeah. So anyway, take that how you will. But if you want some interesting footage, it's certainly one of a kind of. I do. Yeah. And, okay, so that happens. Then later at nerve center, where all the cameras are,
Starting point is 00:51:49 Zach says, I wonder if there's any evil in the building and immediately one of the cameras on nerve glitches. When they run to go check out that room where the camera was, Zach says, like he stops his tracks and he swears he saw a woman kneeling and looking over her shoulder at him with jet black eyes. Ew, that's a very specific thing. thing. Yeah. So he's like that freaked me. That freaked me out. He then says, I'm going to go in that room and see what I can find. He brings equipment in there and says, has anyone been murdered in here?
Starting point is 00:52:20 And his camera, like a just a normal flash camera, the flash starts freaking out. Like it's just like, it's one thing if the flash doesn't work. But when it starts going off by itself, you're like, I don't, yeah, that's creepy. 100%. Yeah. Zach also got a seemingly, if the context he's telling us is true. He got a good picture of a shadow figure in a doorway. It's like clearly there and then clearly not. And then Zach says, did I just capture you on camera and a spirit box in a very old-timey voice said, no doubt. Oh, transatlantic or transcontinental railroad. No doubt. Um, and then he says, what's your name? And the voice says, can't say. Ew. Yuck. Then he's bad. He says,
Starting point is 00:53:08 Where do you want us to go? And the, I guess, Spirit Box or DVP said $28. Which sounds like a sex worker might have been finishing a proposition. Like, where should we go? Well, $28 first. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, what's the name of the street again? 25th, right?
Starting point is 00:53:27 Okay. And so then they go back into the... The $28? That's a lot of money. Maybe it was for a full night. I don't know. Oh, yeah, true. And I don't know what year it would have been either.
Starting point is 00:53:37 1940s, $1940s, $28. I don't know what prices would be. Who am I to even say? So $28 is, it was her response to where do you want us to go? So then they go into the Helena Hotel. They hear some weird voices in vague spaces, of course. They hear old-fashioned singing.
Starting point is 00:53:58 They hear a door slam. They hear footsteps all on camera. And then they follow those footsteps. They're like, what the hell could this be? And they end up at a dead end. the end of the hall is a picture of rose. Whoa. Reminds me of when we were at the Whaley house and we were like, can you show us a picture of
Starting point is 00:54:17 yourself? And it literally, the Dowsingrods dragged you to. Well, we said, no, we didn't even say, like, can you see a picture? We said, like, who is this? Is this Mrs. Whaley? And I was like, I feel like I'm being pulled this way. And then we looked up and we're like, who is that? And you were like, that's Mrs. Whaley. We were like, oh, fuck. That was crazy. because there's like around the corner there. Oh, spooky. The last two crazy things that happen in this location are they have a voice, talk to them through their own walkie-talkie.
Starting point is 00:54:49 Ew, that's creepy. Which, like, as you know, we've gone ghost sitting and we have walkie-talkies. Like, if anyone says anything, like, you're so on edge that it just, like, jolts you. And it's, like, silent. Like, you're not supposed to be hearing anything. Yeah, that's creepy. Well, so out of nowhere, their walkie-talkies, they all hear, wow, wow. Ewe. Horrifying.
Starting point is 00:55:10 What's that? I don't know. It could have just been, wow, like, science is cool. What is this contraption? But it could have been like a scary sound. Science is cool. I don't fucking know. And then the other creepy thing is your favorite, the paranormal puck where you can
Starting point is 00:55:25 like text the ghosts. Yeah, I love that. They wrote in a text, what's in this basement? And the response they got out of like 3,000 words, Rose. I love that, like, imagine here. in a basement, like it just as a human. And someone says, what's in this basement? You're like, Christine. Like, you know, am. All you need. Yeah. Like, what a weird way to answer that question. Like, hey, what's in this basement? Me? Me. Mm-hmm. Okay. Yeah. Same one. Anyway, that is the terror on 25th Street.
Starting point is 00:55:59 I really, I had like three other backup stories, but like, like, but like, but that was the one where it's like, he's acting like a child. And I feel so special that I got to experience this. Thank you. If you want to check it out yourself at season 28, but it really, the, it is. Comparing him to Scrappy Do is something that I don't think I realized I needed in my life. You know what it is? It's his, it's the puffiness of his chest. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:23 They both have that bravado posture. It's giving Johnny Bravo. Yes, they both have the, the Wai-I-I-A-D kind of thing going on. Why, I-Yada, let me at him, yeah. Let me at him. That's exactly right. Let me, Adam, let me at him, yeah. I hope he takes that as a compliment.
Starting point is 00:56:38 Of everything we've ever said, I hope he takes that as a compliment. Let me at him is for sure about like a dead nun. And it's like, why? But it's like, those are his tattoos talking. Like he just takes his shirt off. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:49 He's like, yeah. Of course. Let me at him. Let me at him. Anyway, that is a. Very good.
Starting point is 00:56:54 That's hot. I feel special that I got to be part of that. Thank you. Yeah. Thank you. I'm going to pee real quick. Then we talk about obsession. Then I have part two of Murdoch.

Starting point is 01:00:00 Remember I said part two, this is going to have to be a part three. That's how insane. It gets so insane that searcher and I had to be like, we have to split. There's no way. There's no way. It's not possible. Wow.
Starting point is 01:00:14 Okay. Have you done a party before? Yes. I've done several. Yeah. Really? It's been a while though. Wow.
Starting point is 01:00:23 Okay. Let her rip. I never intentionally do it. It's just like when it gets too long. But I tell you what, it's like the show when you're like, oh, wow, how could they do another two episodes? And it's like, oh, there's entire new storylines I don't even know about yet, you know? And like, think about, okay, so I'm not going to do like a recap because,
Starting point is 01:00:40 there is no way to recap part one in a simple way. I'm so sorry. You have to just go listen to part one of the Murdoch murders. I'm going to get into part two here. Okay. So I'm going to give you a recap of like the last thing that happened in part one. So you know where we are. And by the way, for you though, I feel like it's important. Do you want me to rehash anything? I think I'll pick it up pretty quick. Wealthy people who like basically run the law. Yes. Yes. I'm on it. And there was a car or sorry, a boat accident. And then one of the young women was killed. And they tried to pin it on Connor.
Starting point is 01:01:15 And yeah. And now a homeboy who we hate all of a sudden, like his dad calls and says like, oh, my wife, my wife and kid are dead in the kitchen. Yeah, not the kitchen, but. Or the house. Yes. You'll see in just a moment when I quote it. Okay. On June 7th, 2021, Alex Murdoch made a frantic 911 call.
Starting point is 01:01:36 He said, this is Alex Murdoch. 4147 Moselle Road. I need the police and an ambulance immediately. My wife and child have been shot badly. Nobody. They're not. Neither one of them is moving. It's bad. Alex's son Paul and his wife, Maggie, had both been shot and killed. So when the news broke, reporters started speculating that the murders might have been related to the boat crash that killed 19-year-old Mallory and that maybe this was some sort of like revenge, you know, plot by one of the people, one of the young friends. involved in this boating accident. What happened at that point was that Paul Murdoch was driving the boat, intoxicated,
Starting point is 01:02:15 awaiting trial for three felony charges, one count of DUI causing death, two counts of DUI causing great bodily injury. And then when Mallory was killed, national attention was brought to the family. Their century of legal authority, I like how I'm like, there's no recap, and then Sertia puts the best recap and weaves it in so seamlessly. I didn't even realize it's a recap. And basically, there's century of legal authority. in South Carolina, like, generationally, talk about Nepo babies, like, all the way down.
Starting point is 01:02:44 And remember, like, they have this humongous plot of land where they just let the kids, like, Acres and guns. Acres and guns. And booze. So much booze. They, like, huge drinking issue in this family that's gotten them into huge weapons, like, unlicensed weapons in the trunk. There was a part where he flips a car and the, the girlfriend calls 911.
Starting point is 01:03:07 Oh, he's very abusive to his girlfriend. She calls 911 and the family is like upset with her because, you know, they want to handle this outside of the law. So they like take the weapons and flip the car and send them off on their way. I mean, it's just a really crazy town. So the Murdochs were in trouble, right? This is the context of before this 911 call came in. And now, and this was like the first time they weren't able to just quietly make it go away, even though they were fucking stalking everyone in the hospital and like trying to. get under their skin and trying to intimidate them.
Starting point is 01:03:39 But then, you know, people were like, sorry, we can see this pretty clearly. You can't just say it was Connor and get away with it this time. Like, it's not going to happen. So when someone shot and killed Paul and Maggie, people immediately were like, well, maybe this had to do with Mallory's death. Like, maybe this was revenge. So people close to Mallory were all being investigated in the wake of the killings. Morgan, Dowdy, was one of Mallory's best friends.
Starting point is 01:04:03 And she had dated Paul for several years before his death. and she told investigators that they should consider Alex Murdoch in their investigation. She believed Alex was capable of killing his own wife and son if he felt backed into a corner. And boy, was he ever backed into a corner at this point. Maggie and Paul's murders began unraveling years of secrets in Hampton County. So he's clearly, well, someone's trying to cover something up. And it just opens the fucking floodgates. Oh, really? Okay.
Starting point is 01:04:34 Hmm. Juicy. Mm-hmm. Jusee. All right. So just weeks after Maggie and Paul were killed, the South Carolina law enforcement division SLED. Good one. Of course. SLED.
Starting point is 01:04:45 I know, you got it. You got to give them props for that. They reopened investigation into an earlier murder case. Sled did not share details on how the cases were connected, but its spokesperson did confirm that the investigation was being reopened due to information uncovered while investigating Maggie and Paul's death. And that's this following. crime. On July 8th, 2015, 19-year-old Stephen Smith was found dead in the middle of a rural highway in Hampton County. So this 2015, so this phone call about Paul and Maggie came in in 2021. So we're
Starting point is 01:05:20 like rewinding, okay. And 2019 was the boating incident. So once these two murders happen, everyone starts digging and they're like, wait a minute, there's this other thing that happened in 2015 that we don't even really know about. So they bring this into the light. 19-year-old Stephen Smith was found dead in the middle of a rural highway in Hampton County, initially appearing to be the victim of a hit and run. Following an autopsy, coroner Ernie Washington ruled that the cause of death was blunt-forced trauma to the head likely from a vehicle's side mirror.
Starting point is 01:05:51 But there was some strangeness to the scene. So officers had responded to a 911 call from a driver who had discovered Stephen lying in the road. At 4.30 in the morning, they arrived and observed that Stephen was lying in the middle of the road. Both of his shoes were like loose but still on. His phone was in his pocket. None of his clothes were torn or damaged and the only trauma was to his head. So that was like a strange for a vehicle collision. They found his vehicle nearby and officers speculated he must have run out of gas or maybe had car troubles and began walking.
Starting point is 01:06:23 But his family did not believe that because he had his phone with him. He was only a few miles away from home and he could have called home like you could have called for a ride or called his family. It was weird. He wouldn't have like just like wandered away. Yeah. So they know for a fact. They said he wouldn't have just been wandering the roadway without texting or calling one of us. So convinced that the wrong story was being told, Stephen's mother, Sandy, walked the roadway where her son died. And she said, you know, there's something kind of weird here. No car parts. No blood. Like it doesn't look like a hit and run. She said, I walked from where his car was all the way to where his body was and found
Starting point is 01:07:01 nothing at all. So whether or not it was a hit and run, the State Highway Patrol was now investigating this as a murder case somehow connected to Maggie and Paul. Interesting. Okay. And everyone's like, what the fuck? Okay. You might have already said it, but do we know what the connection is yet?
Starting point is 01:07:19 Or is it just? No. No. They're like, we are just putting these together. Okay. And people are like, oh dear, there's going to be some more. things to unravel. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:32 Yeah. There's more to discover here because when Stephen was killed, the community was so shocked. His friend Olivia rallied around the family to try and find answers. He was a very, I forgot his twin sister's name was Stephanie
Starting point is 01:07:48 and his name is Stephen with a pH. So it's Stephen and Stephanie and they're like spelled really similar. His twin sister, they were inseparable. And he was, was just very, very loved, especially because he was openly gay in rural South Carolina and he had really had to, like, you know, fight for having the life that he had. And he had just, like, very fierce loving people around him. Um, his mother told CNN, a lot of people asked, well, how was it when he
Starting point is 01:08:15 came out? And I say, well, he never had to come out. He never had to say, hey, mom, I'm gay. He knew he was loved and his choices in life was his choices. And he did not have to answer to me or anybody else of who he was. So when Stephen died, Sandy, his mom warned his, his twin sister, Stephanie, that she was going to hear a lot of rumors about her twin brother because he was gay. And of course, there were immediately rumors going around that Stephen had been, you know, part of a relationship that was secret. And who was this relationship with? None other than Buster Murdoch, Paul's older brother.
Starting point is 01:08:49 I was literally, okay, I'm glad I got my mouth shut because I don't, I didn't want to spoil it. But I had a feeling immediately. I was like, well, clearly this was a hate crime. I knew you clock. Clearly this would be a hate crime. So, yeah, right? It's like it just writes his fucking self, unfortunately. Stephen might have been proudly out and loved by his family,
Starting point is 01:09:11 but hey, people who knew the Murdox like Morgan Dowdy did not believe they would have accepted any of their sons being gay, you know, especially in a relationship. Yeah. So when Morgan began dating Paul in high school, a girl actually messaged her on Facebook and told Morgan and she believed one of the Murdoch boys was involved in Stephen's death. Morgan was having dinner at the Murdox when she got this message. So she was with Maggie, Alex, Buster, and Paul. And she asked them why the girl who messaged her would suspect them of being involved.
Starting point is 01:09:42 Jesus, like, read a room, girl. Be sneaky. God, that's. But guess what, guess what, though? What? Did they just fucking say it? There's a slur here. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:09:55 She says, why would this girl message me that you're involved in Stephen's death? They all started laughing and said, we wouldn't, we wouldn't kill that F slur. And so that was like the direct quote. So regardless whether like they were even involved, they clearly had like a very shitty animosity toward this person. Okay. Right. But. Or toward his homosexuality or whatever you want to call.
Starting point is 01:10:25 whatever they were having some sort of fucking issue with so regardless of whether Buster was really secretly seeing Stephen the Murdox came up again and again in the investigation of Stephen's death and to enough people that was like well these guys are clearly up to no good in every other realm why not side eye them
Starting point is 01:10:43 for this they were named in more than a dozen interviews and interviews expressed concern in naming the Murdox at all because they had such power and influence and they were scary one person said he was hesitant to share what he'd heard about Buster's alleged involvement because, quote, I don't want to say power, but of the name. It brings a certain standard when you say Murdoch in Hampton County.
Starting point is 01:11:03 And now the rumors did not prove, of course, that Buster or any of the Murdox were involved in Stevens' murder. But what increased suspicion was that investigators didn't follow the lead at all. They just dropped it immediately. Weird. Okay. And they held on to that and they just never did anything with it? they interviewed dozens of people looking for any information about Stephen's death, but when person after person said they heard the Murdox were involved, they were like, ah, we actually aren't going to pursue that.
Starting point is 01:11:31 I mean, they just never touched it. Am I crazy for thinking they got paid under the table to just stop looking? Either that or they were like, we don't even want to bother, pretend like looking into it. Yeah, because we know it's not going to pan out. Or they were, yeah, there's that. Yeah. Olivia said she felt as soon as a Murdoch name was linked to the case, the public priority of the investigation switched from finding justice for. Stephen to then defending the Murdox because yeah like money power whatever we want to call it and then she said the case just disappeared detectives seemed to just drop it and it went cold so in november of 2015 Michael DeWitt ran a story about Stephen's death in the newspaper's thanksgiving issue and sandy pleaded with readers to come forward with any information to bring her family closure michael couldn't name the Murdox in the issue without being risking being sued for libel but he
Starting point is 01:12:17 referred to rumors about Hampton county use from a prestigious family and quote big names. Okay. Yeah. So people like obviously read between the lines and thanked him for running this story, making it public. When SLED like years later, right, because that was 2015 and now we're up in 2021 and now Paul and Maggie wind up dead. So when Sled informed the Smith family that a new investigative team was taking over the
Starting point is 01:12:45 case, they were like, oh, maybe this will finally get us some answers. And not only that, it opened, like I said, more fucking cans of worms. There was always that struggle when I would pick glasses and it was like, you have to commit to them for so long, right? Because it's like, oh, well, they're so expensive. Starting point is 01:14:23 And I said I would circle back to it and we're here now. People now, after they're looking into the death of Stephen and how this could be involved, people began mentioning the death of the Murdox housekeeper, Gloria Satterfield, who had died three years after Stephen and one year before the boat crash to give you context of the timeline. People are just dying, left and right. It's almost as if there's a pattern. Where there's fucking smoke, right? Like, I don't care.
Starting point is 01:14:52 You know, it's like there's something going on. So Gloria died February 16, 2018. Again, three years after steam and one year before the boat crash where Mallory was killed. She worked for the Mordox as a housekeeper and a nanny for more than 20 years. And Paul's friends described her as basically like his mother figure, right? Like his mother, Maggie was never really like a close mother to him. And so as far as his friends explained. and so he actually kept a picture of Gloria in his wallet and nobody else.
Starting point is 01:15:21 Gloria's son, Tony said she loved what she did, her job. She talked highly of the Murdox. And her sister said she got up at the crack of dawn and would work, work, work, all day. And someday she didn't return until nightfall and worked very hard for what little bit of money she did make, which is also so sick that they're just running around. I mean, it's not surprising, but it's like she's like, you know, working herself to the bone. Gloria would have given Alex anything she had and would have given the family anything she had. So with that context, Anthony, Paul's best friend, as we quoted in the last episode, said Gloria would have walked off the end of the moon for Paul.
Starting point is 01:16:02 Like she loved him as her own son. Now, the cause of her death was said to be an accidental fall on the Murdoch's front brick steps. Maggie called 911, yeah, I know, and said that Gloria had fallen and her head was bleep. that she couldn't get up. Later, Alex Murdoch would claim that he spoke to Gloria before she left in an ambulance and she told him that the Murdoch's dogs had tripped her on the steps. I'm sorry, but like, is it not like the most stereotypical thing of like, oh, I fell? Like.
Starting point is 01:16:34 Yeah. And then to be like, here's more details about it. It's like, wait. Yeah, and they actually make a lot less sense. You're immediately making it suspicious. Yeah. Like, why would you add how and that she was conscious for a minute and told you about it and then was uncons. Yeah, yeah. Not a very good lawyer in my opinion. No. Gloria was airlifted
Starting point is 01:16:51 to the hospital, treated for multiple rib fractures, a pulmonary contusion, and an inoperable subduroble hematoma, which is bleeding near the brain. She spent weeks in the hospital where she could not remember how she fell, and she never mentioned any dogs. Her condition initially improved, but then she suddenly declined rapidly and had to be put on a ventilator before succumbing to her injuries and infections. And this was like a shocking death to the community. Her obituary said she was a member of World Harvest Church in Hampton. She liked tennis, loved kids and her favorite color was purple. Most of all, I know, most of all, she'd be remembered for her laughter and her outgoing personality. She was only 57 when she died and was already widowed by her late husband.
Starting point is 01:17:34 Morgan said in an interview, I just got chills all up my legs. Sorry. What did I do? Your microphone also got chills all the way up its legs. about that yeah I don't know what that was uh glory was only 57 Morgan said in an interview that she felt in her heart that foul play was involved and she's the one who was like around dating you know Paul and like within the family right according to Morgan Alex the father had been struggling with wouldn't you know it a drug addiction and Gloria had discovered a stash of opiates he had been hiding from his family Morgan said that Gloria was afraid to go to Maggie about the drugs, so she told Paul about them instead.
Starting point is 01:18:16 Oh, boy. Paul stayed home with his dad supervising Alex while Alex detoxed and went through withdrawals, and the process was apparently miserable. And Morgan thought it was very suspicious that Gloria died the same year that she discovered and revealed Alex's drug use to the family. Got it. Alex Murdoch told his family he was going to sue himself for wrong. I know. Huh? To, I know.
Starting point is 01:18:42 To receive money from his property insurance that he would give to Gloria's two sons to take care of them. He's like, I'm going to fall on my own sword and sue myself to make enough money to give to her son so they're taken care of. That feels really like the craziest backwards way to do anything, but okay. Hey, you want to know how much money they fucking got? Zero. Whomp, wah, wamp, fucking zero.
Starting point is 01:19:06 So glad you fell on your sword, which I know you took didn't. Well, he probably did and then kept the money, you know. Oh, right. Good point. It's just like really, I mean, listen, this is exactly what happened. Years past, neither Tony or Brian received reliable updates on the lawsuit, let alone a single cent. Alex's lawsuit against himself was, wouldn't you know, had eventually revealed to be part of a larger financial conspiracy through which he had misappropriated millions of dollars through his law practice. And when he was discovered by others at the law firm, he was forced to resign. So this was. was a huge blow to the family's reputation.
Starting point is 01:19:42 In 2019, Buster, one of the sons, was expelled from the University of South Carolina School of Law. So he's like the fifth generation of law. Now, his dad fucks up, gets kicked out of the firm. And now he gets kicked out of law school. Like, they're causing major problems here. They were losing their foothold in the local legacy. And as the investigation of Maggie and Paul's death continued, reports of Alex Murdoch's alleged financial crimes began making headlines.
Starting point is 01:20:10 Gloria's sons retained their own attorneys to find out what had happened to the money that they were supposed to be getting by the wrongful death lawsuit. And when they learned that there had been a settlement reached, they expected there had been some sort of miscommunication like, oh, maybe the money is just being tied up or held in a trust. But when they reached out, they only got silence. So they filed their own lawsuit. Basically, they found out that not, howling Rodok was not like practicing any active law. basically just stealing money. Oh, well, that surprises me zero percent. Yeah, I know. It's like,
Starting point is 01:20:42 yeah. Thank you for telling me, though. Yeah, you're so welcome. Factually confirmed. According to a public statement by Gloria's family, um, Alex Murdoch's insurance paid out a $505,000 insurance settlement in 2018 and they never saw a sentiment. So how over half a million? Wow. That's insane. Those attorneys met with sled and contacted the FBI about the fraud and like Alex Murdox walls are closing in, right? Because now it's like from. And we see this with family annihilators. We see it's the same tale as old as time. On September 4th, 2021, he called 911 from the side of the road.
Starting point is 01:21:20 Like, this is what I'm saying. Like, you think like, oh, here we go. And then you're like, wait, what? So let me just say this really quickly. And by quickly, I mean, really slow, like Zach Began's slow. Look, so much in a speed, we'll never know which one's the truth. Yeah. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 01:21:34 You'll have to figure it. You'll have to guess. on September 4th, 2021, Alex Murdoch called 911 from the side of the road and said, I've been shot. Well, did he shoot himself? That was September 4th, 2021, and June 7th was the 911 call about Maggie and Paul. So just to give you a few months later. So according to Alex, thank you for asking him.
Starting point is 01:22:00 We'll get to it. Trust me, I, when you dodge it, I feel. really good about myself. Don't save your questions for the end because they are really leading me into a good direction. According to Alex, he had pulled over to change a tire when someone else pulled over and acted like they were there to help but then shot him
Starting point is 01:22:17 in the head. You know how that happens? Oh my God, that happens all the time to me. Literally, it's like the only thing my mom is horrified that I'll ever experience. I think Alex Murdoch and my mother are the only two people who believe that story. It's the only thing those two people have in common, probably. Yes. Anyone could just come up
Starting point is 01:22:33 and get you. I mean, honestly. And you know what? And they do. And in 2026, unfortunately, they kind of really do. Unfortunately, we're learning, like, at this point, you can't really predict anything. But wouldn't you know it? Luckily for Alex, he was only grazed, like, tis but a flush wound, you know what I mean? So at point playing rage, he just got nicked. Just, like, crazy little, like, oops, got a little nick in the scalp.
Starting point is 01:22:55 Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was airlifted to the hospital, treated for his injury, but he survived. And, you know, media speculated about this, like, pretty immediately. like whether after all the drama whether um he was this was random or like maybe there was controversy that like had led to this like somebody put a hit on him who knows um many considered that someone in uh his family had harmed might have been seeking revenge but the truth um of course is so much fucking weirder of course it's always with people like this they just can't even like stick to a normal 3d plot they've got to just fucking like this is like the opposite of that like zebra quote where it's like it's like it's always like it's but it's usually the easiest answer. It's like this is, this is the opposite that where it's like, no,
Starting point is 01:23:39 you're right. Like, like the most simple thing is, yeah, the most simple thing is usually it like, think again. Yeah. Think a fucking again.
Starting point is 01:23:47 Because soon after the attack, Alex Murdoch's attorney said, actually we have an announcement. It was actually Alex's idea to get shot. Well, unfortunately for everybody, I already knew that part. You already knew that.
Starting point is 01:24:02 You were like, I could have, TikTok. I could have been on this already. And was he like, was he too afraid to actually get shot? He was like, just, just make it hurt a little bit. Of course, M. Of course. So he had arranged the attack.
Starting point is 01:24:15 This is what his lawyers are saying now. They announced that he had arranged the attack with his drug dealer, Curtis Edward Smith. His attorney said he didn't want law enforcement spending more time on this fake crime instead of focusing on solving the murders of Maggie and Paul. So he wanted to just say, oops, that was, that one's on me. Can you guys focus on Maggie and Paul? know. I know. It was so brave of him. They claimed that Curtis
Starting point is 01:24:38 had exploited Alex's vulnerable state in his grief over Maggie and Paul as well as his addiction in that Alex was an innocent victim. Alex revealed that it was his plan to be murdered by Curtis as a method of dying by suicide while securing a $10 million life insurance payment for Buster.
Starting point is 01:24:54 So he... Sorry, the male's here. Precious. And my dog has lost his money. You're going to miss this. You know, like every time every time my dog barks I'm like one day. You know what? That might be the frame.
Starting point is 01:25:07 That might be the reframe. Oh. I like that. Yeah. Yeah. Well, no, I really, every time something horrible happens, I'm like, it could be worse. It could be worse. Someday.
Starting point is 01:25:17 Yeah. Okay. So he goes, yeah, well, I do. We're doing it again. It's happening. Okay. So he goes, yeah. Oh, well, I wanted to die by suicide very bravely so that I could get $10 million
Starting point is 01:25:32 for Buster, my son in a, like, life insurance policy. Curtis was arrested and charged with assisted suicide. And investigators reported that Alex had given Curtis the gun to use in the attempt. Now, with Alex still alive and like pretty much fine, but despite, as Sersha puts it, being lightly shot in the head. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:53 Thank you. Yeah. Thank you. He's lightly shot in the head. Investigators move forward digging into millions of dollars of alleged, like he has a band out of his head. And they're like, yeah, but we're still going to like look into this. you know, like about the millions of dollars she stole.
Starting point is 01:26:06 It's kind of giving like Trump in the ear situation. Totally. Totally. Totally. It's like Trump saw this on Netflix and was like, ooh, I have a good idea. Hang on a second. And also. He's like, I have a drug dealer allegedly. Just kidding. Something could happen. We don't know. I have a ketamine dealer. Just kidding. Allegedly. So she stated, let's see.
Starting point is 01:26:25 The timeline of Maggie and Paul's deaths, Alex whereabouts that night also started be questioned. And then coroner Angela Topper contacted Sled and requested that an investigation be open not only into Maggie Paul, but into Gloria's death as well. So let's get justice for Gloria. She stated that no coroner had been informed of Gloria's death. They didn't tell the corner and there was not an autopsy done even though like this was a wrongful death lawsuit he filed and got over half a million dollars. So it's like in the wrongful death lawsuit, Gloria's death was declared a fall accident. But in the actual paperwork, it was declared natural. So they just made shit up. It's it's insane.
Starting point is 01:27:03 It's insane. They just do what they want, you know? And is this, maybe you already said, so forgive me if I'm asking a silly question. But like, is this just the police being sloppy or is this like they're clearly in cahoots and helping cover up and stuff? I think in this case, I'm not sure. I think it was almost more like they just had so many hands. They had so many fingers and everything that they could just kind of manipulate the situation by saying, oh no it was an accident and then they just tied themselves up in this legal stuff and said we're gonna do the right thing and give them money and then hoped it would just peter out but then like as more shit starts happening like their own family members start dying it's like what about the woman who died yeah by falling you know and like it seemed like okay I guess but now because you know her own sons were like well okay but if the dogs tripped her and that's what it ended up being we'd still like to like receive the wrongful death death lawsuit.
Starting point is 01:28:02 Please. Money. Yeah. At the very least. And it's like, no. So not only that, they didn't even tell the coroner she died and didn't do an autopsy rate. It's so evil.
Starting point is 01:28:12 It's evil. It's evil. You're right. So the coroner pointed out that the two different causes of death were inconsistent. Yes. Either Gloria was killed in an accident or she died in natural causes. You could not have both be true. Fucking pick one.
Starting point is 01:28:22 Yeah. Right. There was the possibility that Alex didn't just take advantage of a tragedy. He might have orchestrated it. So now they're going, wait, he might not have just said like, oops, I should. should file a lawsuit about this. He might have actually planned it. So in June of 2022, investigators announced they would exhume Gloria's body as part of the new investigation into her death. And that is the end of part two because boy, howdy, there's a lot more.
Starting point is 01:28:46 Whoa. I really thought, okay. Holy, wow. Okay. God, I thought, I thought we were just picking up and you just left me on such a cliffhanger. Even handle. It's like we didn't know where to. It would be a fucking hour. It really does. maybe 45 minutes, but still, Jesus. No, it really blows me away whenever there is the fact that there's so many twists and turns in any, like, I feel like for all the stories that you've told throughout the many years, the fact that there's still ones that exist that can be this of a roller coaster. And you know what's crazy is like none, I mean, this happened in, I mean, it happened over a series of years, but like the, the legal stuff started picking up in 2022. Exactly. So it's like, wall.
Starting point is 01:29:31 And I remember. when it was happening, it was kind of like Gabby Petito. It was kind of like the Idaho case where it's like, oh, I was seeing this kind of happen and going like, I want to keep an eye on it, but like also like with discernment of like what's real, what's not. But then like, of course, when it's something like these people who are like these wealthy, like out of touch socially like just, you know like, ugh, they give you just the ick just even looking at them.
Starting point is 01:29:59 And like that I could not. pry my eyes away. I was like, these fucking people, like, take them fucking down. If it were on my feet, I probably would have eaten it up. But I really, it's shocking how little true crime content I get because I mean, I get all the spooky stuff. But yeah, yeah, fair enough. I, I, I've done a really good job of trying to really not pay attention because, like, I really do want to be surprised by your stories. And I, I feel like I heard the phrase Murdoch Murders, but I couldn't have told you if it was yesterday or 30 years from now. Yeah. And I'd wondered because they're, you know, South Carolina. And they're like,
Starting point is 01:30:31 I just didn't know if you had like heard of them from that like sort of sphere of the world. But like, yeah, it's one of those things where like sometimes you'll just say the name and like somebody at like say like, I don't know, the dentist, like the waiting room. Be like, oh my God. I watched that three part. You know, and you're like really? Like yeah, it's crazy. And I did feel that way about. Wow.
Starting point is 01:30:52 What's it? The telepathy tapes. Oh, right. Yes. Yes. Everybody on goddamn earth had something to say about that. We did not shut up about that. I would be like in a lobby.
Starting point is 01:31:01 and some go, if you, have you, like, everybody knew about that one. So they'd be like, can you hear my thoughts? Man, Christine. Okay, well, I love that you're throwing a three-parter in here. I, it was not intentional, but I just was like, I know if I get to Yap in and then continue to do the entire court. It's not going to be just court stuff because I, but it, I, you need to understand folks. The, the, like, we haven't even gotten into what happened to Paul and Maggie, like, how,
Starting point is 01:31:30 we haven't even gotten into like their bodies. like anything about that, you know, it's like there's so much shit that's still, and then Stephen. I crazy. It's just like, I can't keep track anyway. Well, I am excited to tease that our next episode, my story is not, I'm saying three part, it doesn't mean three episodes. There's three sections of my story. Oh, good. Okay, good.
Starting point is 01:31:54 And I think you'll like each of them. And I've been wanting to do the topic I'm going to do for a long time. and I never knew how to actually make it happen, but I was like, this, it feels right now. Whoa. A triple threat. Very excited. Yay.
Starting point is 01:32:09 Okay, good. Well, I guess we'll see you there. I'll see you there. And that's why? We drink.
