Hey, what's up? It's Paige MacDonald and this is your weekly music industry update.
Warner Music Group has become the latest major music company to announce a new licensing deal with
META. The agreement will enable Warner Music and its artist to receive a portion of revenue from
the use of licensed music on Facebook creators posts.
Germany's record business generated revenues of $1 billion in the first half of 2022 from
physical music sales and streaming.
Spotify has started testing concert ticket sales directly to fans via a new Spotify ticket site.
Dalia Gaines has joined Warner Records as Senior Vice President of Digital Marketing.
Stephen Rowan has been promoted to Senior Vice President Head of International Marketing at Island Records.
U.S. broadcaster IHeartMedia has published its financial results for Q2 2022, showing that overall revenue and
Q2 edged up 11% year over year in line with the group's forecast of between a 10% and 14% revenue
growth.
Luke Armitage has been named Senior Vice President of Ashall Works.
Chris Maltese has joined the music technology platform Vidia as a director of label and artist
relations.
Robert Gibbs has joined United Talent Agency as a partner and co-head of its Atlanta
office. Live Nation has already sold 100 million tickets to concerts in 2022, which is more than
it sold in the entirety of 2019. Warner Chapel has signed the all-female punk rock band, the
Linda Lindas. The music management platform Revelator has appointed Gilad Woltsovich to spearhead
