Welcome to and the update is. I'm your host, Paige MacDonald, and this is your weekly music industry update. TikTok just launched its own music distribution platform called SoundOn. Sound on is already live in the UK, US, Brazil, and Indonesia. And it lets artists upload their music directly to TikTok and Resso. It also distributes their music to other platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Instagram. Downtown Music has launched a 200 million. million dollar fund to invest in indie artists and entrepreneurs backed by B of A. Cobalt has raised $550 million in debt to buy catalog music rights. Sarah Jones has been promoted to general manager of Warner Music Group owned live events listing platform, Songkick. Spotify is no longer earning any money from Russia or passing that money to business partners.

Netflix has shut down its platform in Russia as of last week. Meanwhile, has stopped all product sales in the market and has suspended advertising on its app store there as well. Cobalt and downtown have also cut ties with Russia and Believe continues to operate in market but is monitoring the situation very closely. Hypnosis has bought Leonard Cohen's catalog via Blackstone-backed fund. Hill Corcor Codas has become the first woman to receive a Juno Award nomination for Recording Engineer of the Year. Music industry veteran Stefan White has been named Chief Product Officer at Independent Label, Distributor, and Publisher, Empire. Kelly Turner and Allison Moore have joined Downtown's board. Warner Chapel Music and Film TV and music production company Unagram have signed a worldwide publishing deal with singer-songwriter Scott McFerrin.

B2B streaming technology platform tuned Global has made an API integration, with Museo, the music and artificial intelligence startup. Deca has signed Next Generation artist Ellie Dixon.
