Record labels and publishers have inked a major settlement moving from 9.1 cents to 12 cents per track for U.S. mechanical royalties on physical sales, which is a 32% increase. Maria Egan has left Splice to join Riot Games as Global Head of Music and Events. Pulse Music Group has solidified a joint venture with Tommy Brown, which follows another joint venture, Inked in March, with clients Stara and manager Nick Jargeor. United Masters has launched its own Beat Marketplace. Warner Chapel is extending its publishing deal with Grammy-nominated hitmaker Chris Sean via a new agreement with APG. Sony Music Publishing UK has signed Ed Sheeran co-writer Cal LaVelle to a global deal.

Glass Animals lead Dave Bailey has signed a global deal with Universal Music Publishing Group. SoundCloud has acquired a Singapore-based AI music company called Museo. Spotify is officially launching a virtual presence on Kids Gaming Platform Roblox, making Spotify the first music streaming company to have a presence on Roblox. Beth Appleton has been named Chief Executive Officer at Australia-based Music startup, Jaxda. Lynn Gonzalez has been promoted to executive vice president of head of business affairs and business development at Def Jam.

The UK-born ticketing company Dice has made four executive additions to its teams in Europe and the U.S. Hypnosis Songs has signed Normandy to a global publishing deal. In partnership with TuneCore and Believe, Media Research has released the second annual global Global Study, Be the Change, Women in Music, 2022. The report follows the groundbreaking study conducted in 2021, which revealed the challenges that women creators and executives face in a male-dominated industry. Madonna is marking her fifth dance club chart number one by releasing a new compilation.

She is the first and only artist to have 50 number ones on any single chart administered by Billboard. Cobalt has signed the band Crawlers to a world. wide publishing deal.
