Welcome to Andy Narion 3, presented by Polymarket, your instant reaction addition to Missouri, thumping Florida, 45 to 17.
And we start with Dan's comment.
How many teams did Ari curse this week with the P word?
Yeah, you threw out the B word for Florida last week.
I told you to hold up on that.
But I think I think I was the one who said the P word, that they were a playoff contender.
They didn't look like one today.
Missouri.
I did too.
I was all in, dude.
Missouri looked awesome.
Apologies to Austin Simmons.
We drafted you too low in our SEC QB draft should have been much higher because,
holy crap, what a game for Austin Simmons, 23 of 30, 340 yards, two TDs.
There was a wheel route he hit.
I want to say in the third quarter when he threw the receiver open that was one of the
most beautiful throws you will ever see.
Like he was he was on fire today and then Missouri's defense completely shutting down Florida's run game 25 carries 42 yards Jaden Baugh 12 carries for 13 yards.
That was a man can I just admit something?
I don't know what's going on in the SEC.
Every week you feel like you you have an idea of who's going to start emerging and who's going to, you know, and then you see like a result like that is that was like genuinely like it was one thing.
Florida were to lose, but I'm kind of shocked by what we were watched there tonight, Andy.
I didn't see that coming.
So Ashton in the Chast, as a Florida fan, I don't even understand how we can go from playing
how we played in the first four games, especially against Ole Miss and Auburn, to playing
like we literally are, and then they ran out of space.
You can finish that for him.
Yeah.
Yeah, playing like crap, like there's a lot of ways to do it.
It's something we say a lot on this show, large groups of 18 to 22-year-olds tend to behave in
unpredictable fashion.
It's very difficult to get them to play at the same intensity level every week.
And look, Missouri is the same thing.
This Missouri team went out of Starkville last week, had a lead, couldn't hold it.
I think if they played like this last week, they would win in Starkville.
They just, they didn't.
Now, maybe they are a better run defense than past defense, but probably,
not. Fluff Bothwell ran on them last week.
Like they just played one of the best games that I've seen them play. And, you know,
Eli Drinkwitz was getting hit with that stat over and over again about how poorly he plays
against ranked teams. Well, guess what? They came out today. They beat the hell out of Florida
today. So where does that rank in Eli Drinkwitz wins at Missouri? I mean, I guess we don't know
because they're number eight on here,
but we don't know what Florida,
like I think there's some questions like that.
Yeah, we don't know if Florida ends up being,
but I'd say it's one of their bigger wins.
Is that like Florida is going to,
I don't think Florida is going to suddenly fall off the map
and suck the rest of the year.
I think they probably,
we've seen them play well.
They'll probably play well again at least once or twice,
but maybe for a lot of the season.
And this win probably ends up looking pretty good,
especially the way they beat them.
But yeah,
I'm trying to think where this rank,
in his biggest wins.
You know, he had, they had the really good season the last year of the four-team
playoff, Missouri was really good.
And they would have made a 12 team had there been one at the time.
So, you know, maybe it's one of the wins in that season would be his biggest.
But they were 11 and 2 that year.
I'm looking at the win total.
Yeah, I mean, probably 36 to 7 against Tennessee.
I believe that's the We Stand on Business Josh game.
Yeah.
that one probably was the biggest one before this.
It probably still the biggest until this one contextualized a little more.
Well, Missouri was kind of the brunt of a lot of jokes this week.
You know, you had that conversation about how SEC teams have been improperly ranked in the bottom half of the top 25
and how Missouri has spent a lot of time in that region of the polls, despite the fact that they haven't won a lot of big games.
Eli Drinkwitz's record against top 25 teams, top 10 teams was floating around the internet.
and this was a pretty good way to respond to that, Andy.
I think that we both have a lot of respect for what Eli's done there.
And, you know, he was a candidate,
even potentially for the Florida job last year for a reason.
But I think that this was a pretty big win because after last week,
I know that we are kind of in the midst of Camario-Taylor-Mania right now
and Mississippi State's a pretty impressive team.
But at a certain point, Missouri has to go from being the consistent eight-win,
nine-win team that never wins a big game to actually flexing their muscles
when they have a top 10 team in their house.
And I got to say, they beat the crap out of Florida today, man.
I don't even know if there was, you know, any time in the second half.
They beat Florida.
They beat Florida pretty much exactly the way Florida beat Ole Miss last week.
I mean, they just, they ran the ball down their throats.
And then Austin Simmons was dealing.
That is exactly what Florida did to Ole Miss.
Yeah.
And Jamal Roberts had 211 yards rushing for three touchdowns in this.
game. Not bad without Amad Hardy too. Yeah. Now, Jamal Roberts was good last year with Amad Hardy
and probably a little bit obscured because Amad Hardy is so good. But now we get to see fully
what Jamal Roberts can do. And he looked awesome today. So tell me, I'm coming to Gainesville
next weekend. Yeah. Tell me, like what's the, every time Florida wins or loses, like I ask,
what's the phone look like? I don't think it's depths of despair. Like,
Billy Napier era depths of despair.
I think they're probably still fairly optimistic because they had the win against Auburn.
They had the win against Ole Miss.
I think they'll be a little more skeptical now.
I mean, it was all in, they're going to make the playoff.
They're going to compete for the national title.
Now it's a little more, okay, let's probably treat this week to week and go one and oh this week.
I think what coaches always say that.
Fans don't always say that.
I think the fan base probably will be back to that because, you know, going into the Missouri game before all this happened, I think Florida fans were looking at, oh, can the Gators beat Texas or Georgia?
Can they split Texas and Georgia and then go undefeated the rest of the way?
Well, now you have to look at it like can you beat South Carolina because playing the way they played today, they can't beat South Carolina.
And good news for you, Florida fans.
I know you're sad, and I like to be the giver of hope.
If you do split against, if you beat South Carolina and split against Texas and
OU and Georgia, not OU, Texas and Georgia and then beat OU and went out, you're going
to the playoff.
Like, that's not dead.
That didn't die today.
So, you know, you still have a lot to hope for.
But, you know, I move.
Let's not use the P word after they lost 45 to 17.
Let's let their real, let their expectations sink back down to reality.
Who cursed them, Andy?
do, if they do make the P word, then great.
They can be happy about that.
But I used the B word last week, which is bigger than the P word.
Because you can you, can use the P word with Missouri today too.
Yeah.
There's a lot of, Missouri playing like they played today can beat everybody else in their schedule.
Yeah.
So I don't know if Florida is just my kryptonite.
I buy into Florida very quickly.
I get excited.
You know, maybe I was wrong.
But I don't feel like I'm completely wrong.
They played a bad game today, too.
I'm sure that they can play better than that.
So, you know, this isn't the thing that I don't know, because like even in the past, Andy,
being blown out like this usually was like the nail in any coffin of any season,
regardless of what was left because it was hard to overcome blowouts in the committee.
But in college football today, you know, I think that it's a week by week, like you said,
situation in a way that's different in both how every team can beat anyone now
in a way that they couldn't before, and of course,
how we view the postseason and the race for it.
So, you know, I think that the difference between the game today
and the game 10 years ago is that, you know,
a bad Saturday doesn't tank your whole season.
A bad Saturday is annoying and maybe reshift some of the ways
that you view your team, but it doesn't change the whole year,
like everything that they've worked for is out the window now.
Like, you still have a lot ahead of you.
Ole Miss is still a very good team.
You have a good win.
But I'm happy for Missouri, man.
like Missouri got back on the right side of things,
and now they have a nice win.
And, you know,
frankly,
I just don't know what the hell is going on in the SEC.
And next week,
the two teams that we have been viewing as SEC championship contenders
who are still unbeaten in the league are playing in what will be the game of the week.
So can't wait for that.
We have a pretty jam-packed Saturday next week, by the way.
I don't know if you've been paying attention to that.
I know.
I know.
We're still dealing with this one, though.
Yeah.
Missouri.
Texas A&M next week
at Ole Miss the following week.
Then Arkansas after an open date
and then they do the Texas Georgia
back-to-back thing.
Obviously, we don't know what's going to happen
between now.
Because we don't know what Ole Miss is.
Ole Miss beat LSU then got cream by Florida.
We don't know what anybody is.
I'm thinking about doing the projected playoff tonight
and it's so hard because
do you put Ole Miss in there
because they beat LSU
Do you put Missouri in there because they beat Florida?
Do you put Mississippi State in there because they beat Missouri?
Do you put Florida in there because they beat Ole Miss?
Do you put any of them in there at all?
I mean, I think what you do is you don't you just like lean on the most recent results?
Isn't that kind of what you have to do?
Not really.
It's the most recent information.
They all matter.
But what is it?
What is the most recent information mean?
Like Mississippi State got blown out by Alabama today.
What does that mean about Missouri?
Yeah.
So, you know, I mean,
I know the most recent information about Florida's going up.
Yeah.
Florida was in your pool last week.
The most recent information of Florida is a lopsided loss of Missouri on the road.
So like they might fall out now.
Yeah.
But at least we did not pull a Josh Pate and say that Florida reminded us of 2019 LSU.
Well, he just posted and I don't know.
He said the thing I regret most about comparing Florida to 2019 LSU is that I didn't compare Florida to 2019 LSU.
So I don't know if he actually did
I saw the clip I saw the clip
Okay well I'll have to watch it
Because I don't even know what clip you're talking about
The entire internet
Thinks he did because they watched the same video
So okay well he's out there battling right now
My prayers are with you brother
I've been in that position before
Can't walk it back now buddy
Can't walk it back now
It's all right
We've all done it
And sometimes you're the bug and sometimes you're the windshield
In this business
Ari and I basically did it last week
We did a video
I was in the swamp
I said DJ Lagway would be the best player in college football 12 months ago.
We did say that too.
So there's all of that.
So no, we shouldn't throw stones.
We shouldn't.
But we did say, well, you said the B word with Florida.
I did.
Not the B word.
Is this a thing to you?
Ari, are you listening to the crowd?
Stop cursing our teams.
From now on, your voting rights are stripped.
All love, no hate, hook them, bud.
Am I like the curse of people's team?
That's Sailor Joe.
Well, he's a Texas fan.
you haven't cursed them yet.
Right.
I mean, because you've been all in on Texas all year.
The game and they raised a 20-point lead in the fourth quarter in front of my very eyes.
So, well, Sailor Joe keeps, you know, paying into the super chats.
So maybe if you pay into the super chats,
Yeah.
Ari won't curse you.
Oh, the college football collection plate.
Producer River points out that Ari did curse Arch Manning for Heisman.
Because Ari is going to have to run five miles down in Las Vegas Boulevard because Archmanning is not going to New York.
me. He's not going to New York.
Archmanney first me. That's what he did.
Thank you for watching. We will be
back after the night games with the full
show. We have a lot to digest.
A lot. And the night games are just beginning.
We'll talk to you then.
