Starting point is 00:00:00 On today's A&R on 3 presented by BetMGM, the quarterback competitions are raging at Florida and Alabama. The spring games are in the books. Spring practice done it. Florida is still going on in Alabama? Is there a leader for the quarterback jobs? We talked to Zach Albuverdi from Gators Online. We talked to Charlie Potter from Bama Online to break down the quarterback competitions at Florida and Alabama. Plus, there's a fight in the outfield.
Starting point is 00:00:30 at the Ole Miss LSU baseball game. But I think all this does is wet the appetite for that game when Lane Kiffin brings LSU to Oxford to play his old team in September. In fact, he got involved and then deleted the tweet. We'll talk about it all today on Annie and Orion 3 presented by BedmGM. We are brought to you by BedmGM, and if you're not signed up for BetmGM,
Starting point is 00:00:59 here's how you do it with a code that will get you up to a $1,500 first bet offer. You download the app from BetMGM. You sign up using the code CFB. That CFB is in college football. You deposit at least $10 and place your first wager on any game. Then you've got the NBA play in tournament this week. You got the playoffs starting the NBA. There's a lot going on right now.

Welcome to Annie and Ari on three presented by BetMGM and oh boy, Ari, we got quarterback competitions popping off after some spring games because we finally got to see these guys play a little bit. Florida and Alabama, we're going to talk about Tennessee later in the week. but we got a little taste of the Trimel Jones Jr. versus Aaron Philo at Florida,
Starting point is 00:02:39 a taste of Keelan Russell versus Austin Mack at Alabama. And everybody's got their opinions now, Ari. Andy, so like this is like an endangered species, right? Like, yes. Your quarterback competitions. And it's funny because neither of them have feature two players that signed with the program out of high school, but still, they're still pure, right? Like, There's still. Each one has one player who signed the program at high school. Yeah. Yes.
Starting point is 00:03:07 But it's not just like a purely vintage one where it's just high school players who have been on the team for a few years. We're going to talk about that tomorrow with Tennessee. Yes. But anyway, yes, it feels good to be actually talking about quarterback competitions. We're in mid-April. These are two of the most important ones. Obviously being in the SEC is a jet fuel to whatever quarterback competitions would be elsewhere. and I'm just like I'm excited to really like dive into it with people who are close to them.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Well, and what's amazing is these spring games, the coaches always talk about it's 15 practices. This is another practice. It's really hard to tell a lot of the time if somebody just had a really good day and somebody had a really bad day. Or is this what it's looked like the whole time? And because I think in both cases, Florida and Alabama, the folks came out of the game saying, the guy who signed with our team out of high school before last season is the one who looked the best today. And now in very different situations too, right? Like Keel and Russell was a five-star all-world signy.
Starting point is 00:04:17 Tramel Jones was pretty highly ranked, but wasn't like that, right? And it was considered he was coming in. He was going to back up DJ Lagway. And then the hope was he would eventually succeed DJ Lagway when Lagway went pro. and it obviously did not work out that way. But it's interesting because Tramel Jones Jr., also in the circumstance that happened, where the coach gets fired, new coach comes in, a lot of times that person is just transferring. But in this case, he wanted to stay at Florida.
Starting point is 00:04:47 John Summerall met him and was like, oh, I think you could be very valuable for us. And they worked to keep him even though they were bringing in Aaron Fylo, who was following Buster Falkner, the O.C from Georgia, tech. So it's a very intriguing competition in Gainesville. So let's bring somebody who's been following it the whole way on a granular level. Zach Albaverdi from Gators Online joins us to break down Aaron Philo versus Tremel Jones Jr. right now. We're joined now by Zach Albuhrty from Gators Online. And Zach, you had a very interesting Saturday because you were watching a quarterback that competition unfold before your eyes.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Aaron Philo versus Tramel Jones, Jr. And it was very interesting to see the way it shook out with two guys that were completing a lot of passes, but it seemed like the Tramel Jones ones popped a little more. They did. I mean, there is no doubt Tramel had the better day, right? I mean, he had the play of the game. He showed off his arm. He didn't have any interceptions, didn't have.
Starting point is 00:06:00 any sacks and at least showed that like this is a true quarterback competition we've been saying it all offseason but this is not a situation where Aaron has this like clear leg up on the competition because of his experience in Buster Faulkner system and Aaron did some great things on Saturday as well particularly bouncing back from the turnovers that he had and that like last minute of the first half he really put it together so it's going to continue into the offseason and into training camp. But Jones certainly made his case for the job on Saturday. I know that we like to overreact to spring games.
Starting point is 00:06:42 It's one of the right of being in this job. We have an entire segment on this show every week during the spring where we just take four second clips and completely blow them out of proportion. But what's your actual feels act of the competition and how it's set up and how you think it's going to play out? I think that there's guys, there's advantages that both guys have. Aaron obviously has time, experience, chemistry with Buster Faulkner, having played for him for two years. He knows the offense.
Starting point is 00:07:14 He knows what Buster is trying to do attacking defenses. And it gives him an advantage. I mean, Tremel basically admitted that he was obsessed this offseason trying to catch up with the playbook so that Aaron didn't have that much of an advantage on him. And you can see that when he operates the office. He's decisive. He knows what he's doing. He knows where he's trying to go with the football. Whereas Tremel, some of early on in the spring game,
Starting point is 00:07:38 you could see that he doesn't really have that down pat yet. However, Tremel has the better arm. He's the better athlete. He probably has a higher ceiling. So I also think that if he is outperforming Fylo in some ways, they're not going to be able to sell that to this locker room. by just giving Aaron the job. Not that they would.
Starting point is 00:08:01 But so I think that it's the way that the spring game played out in terms of who got the series. They each got six series, but it was clearly set up to me, you know, advantage Aaron. But it didn't play out that way in the spring game. And I think obviously coming out of it, a lot of fans feel like Tremel should be quarterback one. So he's not going to win the job just off of that performance alone. So it's really going to come down, I think, in training camp to which way do they want to go? The guy that really knows this offense that maybe they can count on a little bit more versus the guy that's got this ceiling, a big arm, might make some more mistakes in Aaron,
Starting point is 00:08:40 but has more big play potential. So one of the things that John Somerall said is they were shuffling offensive linemen. They're trying to make that happen. Here's Sumerall on the quarterbacks, but then the offense as a whole, which I found interesting, and I want to get your thoughts on the timeline here. Oh, yeah. No, look, I completely understand the interest. I'm interested in it, but I'm interested in that and like a thousand other things. And so I think too often the storyline is always the quarterback, the quarterback, the quarterback. I'm like, well, I'm pretty damn worried about who the right tackle is and who the left tackle is and who.
Starting point is 00:09:13 So those decisions are as important to be quite honest with you because they're protecting the quarterback. So, Zach, they did mix and match offensive linemen series by series in the spring game. Do you think he wants to have that figured out before he makes a decision on the quarterback? Yes, I do. And I think to build chemistry offensively to settle on a starting five and allow that quarterback to kind of get some camaraderie with his unit, because look, that's not helping those guys. Every time that they're in, there's a different combination out there blocking for them. So that's something that I think, you know, a week or two into training camp,
Starting point is 00:09:55 they're going to want to make a decision on and commit to a five before they settle on a QB. I want that Florida hat. There's one thing that that Florida Jumpman hat is like, I went and actually trying to find out. Somewall has a great hat game, period. He's a hearing it in Tulane and Troy, too. Yeah, I think that there is a correlation between like how a coaches like present themselves, like dressed and drip and all that. I think he's got some low key really good drip. Well, somebody told him as well, don't wear blank. black. He's learned that. Oh, because Napier wore it? Yes. Oh, win games and you wear whatever you want. Yeah, we're going to start that now. Black is very slimming, I'm told. Zach, I have a question
Starting point is 00:10:33 for you, though, and I'm like curious about this because you said it a few times and I've always wondered this. As we all wear black. We're all wear black. Yeah, yeah. But how much does like experience in Faulkner's system actually matter if you didn't play? that much. It matters because when he played, he delivered, right? Like he, he, they beat number four Miami with him quarterbacking their team. Yeah. They beat NC State when he basically had the whole game. So it matters in the sense that he's, he's done more with his opportunities and what
Starting point is 00:11:13 Tramel has been able to get through his, you know, true freshman year where he redshirted. But then it's also just practice after. practice scrimmage after scrimmage, like the time that he has in the system, it does show up. I mean, even earlier this spring, like watching some of the team periods, hearing how some of the first two scrimmages went, that was the one thing that was said to me was Aaron's decisiveness. Like, that's what makes him play faster. That's what makes him operate at a better level is he just knows what he's doing. And he knows the offense. So that's where it plays in. I do think to your.
Starting point is 00:11:50 point though if he had not had some of the games experience and success that he had with that it wouldn't be as much of an advantage but it sounds to me like tremel is like the freakier athlete fan favorite here correct it is well but also Zach the the tremel thing I think there's some history here that people need to understand he was the guy who took all the offseason practice reps when DJ lagway couldn't and and the locker room embraced him. It feels like when Somerall got there and was interviewing the players, Tremel got this massive vote of confidence from everybody. Yep, 100%. And that's why going to my point earlier, if he is clearly outperforming Aaron, they are not going to be able to name Aaron the
Starting point is 00:12:40 starter. They will lose the locker room, which is not what you want to do right out of the gate your first year with the new staff. And I don't, I don't anticipate. just knowing John and even Buster for the little bit that I've got to know them, like they're going to play the best guy. And I think that they also are aware of how that locker room feels about Tremel. And that's honestly something that plays into the quarterback competition is, you know, the way that the guys play for you. And that's something that Aaron has had to do, obviously, this offseason,
Starting point is 00:13:16 kind of proving himself to these players and winning the team over. So here's what John Summerall said about what happens next, which I think it's interesting because obviously the situation has changed as there's no spring portal window this year. We don't actually know what that means yet. But here's what he said he's going to do starting today. I think quarterback going back, like I've said this before, when you get the whole whatever the picture of the offense is around them settled, that makes it easier to play quarterback. So right now with the line being in such flux of moving a lot of guys around, there's not as much continuity, but both guys have done some good things. You know, I think that room's done good things as a whole.
Starting point is 00:13:57 I'll sit down with all those guys on Monday and have a really transparent conversation about, hey, after 15 practices, this is where we are. I'll talk to them about, hey, if we had to play a game next week, this is probably what it would look like. I won't make an announcement because we don't play game next week. but I want them to know kind of after we wrap up, I think our players, they deserve and earned, they've earned honest conversations. And so I'll meet it with all 111 this week,
Starting point is 00:14:26 and I'll talk through kind of where you were, where you are, and where we need to go next to continue to grow and develop. So nothing's decided yet. But I do think sometimes we can almost make too much about the quarterback deal when it's like, hey, we've got to figure out who our O line is and which tight ends can do what,
Starting point is 00:14:43 and which backs are certain types of runners. But the quarterbacks have done some good things. He knows why we're focusing on the quarterback. But, Zach, how do you think that conversation goes? When he sits down with Tremel Jones Jr., when he sits down with Aaron Filo, how do you think that conversation goes? Yeah, that's the one beauty of the Spring Portal
Starting point is 00:15:05 is now you can be honest and not worry about a guy bolting on you. I think that they're probably going to tell Aaron that he is a little bit ahead of still in this competition, but that Tremel is making strides and right on his tail, and that he needs to, they're going to tell him what he needs to do this offseason to win the job. And I think that the message will be for Tremel is, hey, you've done a good job this spring,
Starting point is 00:15:37 learning the offense, making your case. You need to continue to do that throughout the summer and fall, and then once we get to training camp, you're going to have an opportunity to win this job. So, like, I'm going to put out my projected depth chart today. Like, as much as I want, I'm sure the fans want me to see put Tramel as QB1, I'm going to put an or there because I do still think that it is a little bit up in there and decided as to how this thing is going to play out. But it's clearly not a situation where Aaron's just got it, and it's his job to lose.
Starting point is 00:16:11 I think that this could go either way still. We like to put guns to heads at this show. Who do you think is going to win your job? Ah, man. It's a podcast. Look at you. There's no penalty for being. There are no repercussions for being wrong, is what I was saying.
Starting point is 00:16:30 But your message board would disagree, Zach. Yeah, yeah. No, just a prediction. People like to know what you. Yeah. I mean, if I had the lean one. guy that I think is likely to get the first not, I still think it's likely to be Philo. I just, I think that he's going to, he's going to basically have to, you know, really not
Starting point is 00:16:52 progress this offseason and, and, and, uh, have Tremel just make this big leap in summer and fall, which could happen. But I still think that, you know, I also think that there's a likelihood that we might see both of them in the first game, um, even though they might roll out with one, guy as the starter. But yeah, if I had to project months ahead, I still could think that Aaron is more likely to win the job. But, man, I wouldn't be surprised if Tremel did.
Starting point is 00:17:23 And I also think that they're going to, it's going to be hard to keep Tremel just on the sideline the entire season. There's probably going to be opportunities that he has to get in games. Well, all right. One of the things that is interesting about this quarterback race is who they get to throw to. And I have, so Ari is really pumping the hopium right now. now because he saw the Mike of May's catch. We all know about Eric Singleton
Starting point is 00:17:45 Jr. Ari's because he's obsessed with five stars, loves Dallas Wilson. Dallas Wilson's going to be awesome. It's guaranteed. Ari, tell Zach what you texted me this morning. Is it possible that Florida has the best receiver room in the
Starting point is 00:18:00 country in 2026? I mean, they're going to have one of the best, one of the best in the country. If everybody's possible, it's better than Ohio States. Because it's not. It's going to be better than Ohio States. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:12 They have Jeremiah. I'm going to say that. It'll be the second best. Definitely one of the best in the SEC, if not the best. Like, they've got options, man. Like, their starting unit is going to be very good at wide receiver with Fernel Brown the third, Eric Singleton and Dallas Wilson. Like, those three are legit.
Starting point is 00:18:34 But you also got Mike Amaze who stole the show on Saturday with his performance. They really like Bailey Stockton, who plays in the slot for them coming over from Georgia Tech. He's a guy that they can count on. T.J. Abrams is one of the receivers that they retained, that they liked. You got Khalil Jackson as well. That's part of that rotation. Then they got some freshmen, too, that were really highly touted in Davion Gross and Justin Williams. So there's no shortage of options, but, like, at the top of the depth chart, their starters, man, is as good as it gets.
Starting point is 00:19:11 Like, Well, let's not forget, Luke Harper is as good as it gets, that slot is a good as gets, and Dallas Wilson is like your prototypical ex-receiver. Let's not forget Luke Harpring, whose dad was busy drilling threes in the league back in the day. And we got some,
Starting point is 00:19:26 we got a little bit of news from Buster Faulkner after the spring game. He said that there's been some separation at Tide-in, and Amir Jackson and Luke Harparing have separated themselves from the pack and been the two most productive players, which isn't a surprise to me. Obviously, Amir Jackson looks like a million bucks. He's just learning how to play tight in. And then, yeah, you mentioned the pedigree from Harp Ring.
Starting point is 00:19:47 You think that guy can jump out of the gym and catch some jump balls. Well, I watched his dad play a lot of hoops. I know he's an athlete. But I want to ask you about something that has no effect on this season, but is one of the reasons, because I had somebody text me about this the other day. And they said, I thought the Florida fans were tepid on the summer all hire. I'm like they were initially, but they've really come around on him because of a bunch of different reasons. But one of the reasons is, so last week, Max Hiller, five-star offensive guard from Pennsylvania, commits to Florida.
Starting point is 00:20:23 The first five-star offensive lineman to commit to Florida since Martez Ivy in 2015. Oh, wow. I was in my 20. Right. And Max Hiller's from Pennsylvania. So Phil Troutwine, their new offensive line coach who came from Penn State, clearly had been working on him for a long time. But how different does that feel? Because that's something it feels like the last couple administrations.
Starting point is 00:20:45 They were never in the mix for the really highly touted, really toolsy offensive linemen. And by design, and by design, like there was an attitude from some of the previous offensive line coaches that were not going to pay that amount of money for a high school offensive lineman. They just had that stance. And sometimes, like you can pick certain situations. and examples where maybe that makes sense and that's a good eval. But like at the end of the day, you cannot go a dozen years without signing a five-star
Starting point is 00:21:17 offensive lineman and be competitive in the SEC. And if you're going to have the stance of, okay, we're not going to spend on these guys out of high school because we want to see, we're not ready. It's a projected, projectile position. So we're not going to invest in them out of high school. So then what's the alternative to go get an elite. high caliber lineman out of the portal. Those are even, those are way more expensive,
Starting point is 00:21:44 way more coveted, way more harder to get out of the portal than they are out of high school. So that's one thing that I like about this commitment for Florida. Not only does it end the drought of five-star offensive linemen, but it shows that Phil Trottwein and John Summerall and the staff and the GM, Dave Caldwell, like they get it. They understand that you have to invest in high school offensive linemen, elite high school offensive linemen as much as it might hurt to stomach paying them that much when it's a developmental position you don't necessarily know how they're going to pan out if you trust your evals and you're good at recruiting you can get those guys then versus trying to go get them in the portal go ask how expensive jordan seedin was like trying to go get those guys are very tough so you're better off uh to try and do it out of high school in my opinion yeah i the uh the the premium of it in the portal
Starting point is 00:22:40 is so hard because how many are like true tackles are there in a given cycle three or four or five million dollars on those guys. This guy is a five-star plus interior offensive line recruits. So it's possible he can plug in and play. He might be that good. I mean, on the front side, though. Even if he's not, you still have to, you still have to do it because LSU is going to do it. Alabama's going to do it. George is going to do it.
Starting point is 00:23:04 You got to do it. And so that's the other thing. I do feel like Florida has had the money. I think that they're donors and even before there was NIL, right? Back in the day and we were dropping bags. Like, I think Florida was with it. That never happens, Zach. And I just think, I mean, John Havesey and Rob said, we're just like, no, I'm not spending $2 million on a 17-year-old.
Starting point is 00:23:30 And all right, there's a bunch of other programs that did and they benefited from it. Well, Zach, it's going to be a fun offseason. as Florida goes through the summer, tries to figure out what they're going to do. But this quarterback thing is going to be the topic of conversation in Gainesville for the next three months. Are you ready to referee this? I am, but I also love the brutal honesty from John Someraw. He keeps beating the table saying, you guys keep talking about the quarterback, and I'm worried about the offensive line.
Starting point is 00:24:06 And when I asked him about it, he straight up was like, if they don't have a great summer, we have no freaking chance. No chance. And I was like, okay, I love that. Yeah. And Ari's beloved receiving core has no chance if the quarterback's on his back every play. So Summerall's right about that. He is.
Starting point is 00:24:27 And again, he's trying to take off some of the topic of that conversation. At the end of the day, though, it's the most important position in all of sports. And we're going to talk and debate about it all offseason until that first game. Zach, thank you so much. And yeah, get ready. Tramel, Tramel, Aaron, Tramel, Aaron. That's your summer. Hey, I'm here to cover it.
Starting point is 00:24:51 I'm waiting on it. I love a good quarterback controversy. You're waiting on a basketball guy to say he's coming back now. So just just get ready for that. Get ready for preseason number one in hoops with the whole team coming. My wife keeps wondering, like, when are you going to get a break and like stop and like take a vacation? I'm like, I'm waiting on June, baby. waiting on june
Starting point is 00:25:10 yeah yeah that's when the ghost transfers start Zach Albaverty thank you so much see you guys thanks for having me thanks Zach Ari we are probably not going to know an answer to that until the first couple games and to Zach's point
Starting point is 00:25:28 Florida's got a couple warmups before they play Auburn in week three so they could get a good look at both of them in the games before they really nailed out a decision yeah and I'm always super fascinated by raw, exciting talent versus experience and familiarity. You know, and I think that you pointed this out during the interview,
Starting point is 00:25:51 and I think it's true that he has gotten a lot of reps at Florida as the one because DJ Lagway was hurt for a large portion of the last off season. But the other thing that I think that, you know, needs to be taken into account, although very different systems and different coaches, is that Tremel Jones was also thrust into games during very uncomfortable and unpredictable situations during turmoil. And I think performed, if I remember correctly, pretty well given the circumstances, right?
Starting point is 00:26:17 He didn't really have much of it. Like, you got put in the Kentucky game when it was pretty much over. I would say Philo has the far more game, worthwhile game experience. And so that probably weighs pretty heavily because Buster Faulkner has called plays for Aaron Fylo in games and understands how he operates. So Tremel Jones has more to overcome, but you play like you did on Saturday and you might overcome it.
Starting point is 00:26:43 Yeah, and I also think that the locker room loving you is a very underrated aspect to this. Yeah, it doesn't always work, but it is important. And the locker room is rarely going to steer you wrong in these things. I always go back to the Clemson situation with Kelly Bryant and Trevor Lawrence. And this is the midst of a national championship season where basically Dabo Sweeney decides to go with, with Trevor Lawrence four games in, which gives Kelly Bryant a chance to transfer in redshirt. And you don't do that unless you know
Starting point is 00:27:15 that the best players on your team are cool with that. And like the first thing that happened was Christian Wilkins publicly endorses the decision. And like that, that matters a lot. Well, yeah. So how much credit or how much do you think players know? Like they really know because they're experiencing it?
Starting point is 00:27:35 And like that's the thing that I've never really understood about this talking point. It's like if the coach is dead set on starting the wrong person, why? Right. Why of that's always fascinating to me. Yeah. And I don't think Somerall's going to do that in year one. I think he's probably he's probably got an idea what he wants to do, but it again, he has seemed fairly open-minded about Tremel Jones Jr. the entire time, which given the circumstances, you'd think the job would just get handed to Aaron Filo. It's clearly not being handed to him. So this will be interesting to watch.
Starting point is 00:28:14 Now we've got to talk Alabama, which is not quite the same situation, but it is quarterback you signed out of high school against quarterback who came with the coach, but Austin Mack has been on Alabama's roster for two seasons now since coming with Kalinabor from Washington. So we're going to talk to Charlie Potter from Bama Online about that. but first these words from bearskin. If you ever been caught in the rain without a jacket at a game, at a tailgate on the sideline, walking to the car,
Starting point is 00:28:44 you already know the problem. And I'm telling you right now, Oxford, Mississippi, George Ole Miss, 2024. I was getting poured on. Didn't have a rain jacket because I thought, oh, it's too bulky to bring. I don't have to worry about that now because I have the bearskin heavy storm rain jacket.
Starting point is 00:28:58 It packs into its own pocket. You can stash in your truck, throw it in your bag, keep it in your glove box. It is always with you. It weighs almost nothing, and the second the sky opens up, you pull it out and you are covered. We're talking 20,000 millimeter waterproof. That is expedition grade, not a flimsy poncho, a real tape seam, sealed zipper rain jacket that handles sustained downpours.
Starting point is 00:29:24 And it's completely PFAS free, no forever chemicals, which is more than most outdoor brands can say. Here's the part I really like. It zips directly into the bearskin hoodie, which if you don't have one of those, oh my goodness. So on a cold rainy game day, you zip the rain jacket onto the hoodie and you've got a full warm and waterproof system. When the rain stops, unzip the jacket, pack it back into its pocket and keep moving. Right now, bearskin is running 60% off on the heavy storm rain jacket with free shipping. Text Andy A&D-Y to 36912. That's Andy to 36912, and they'll send you a link to grab a jacket at 60% off.
Starting point is 00:30:09 Keep it in your truck, keep it in your bag. Next time it rains, you are the guy who's ready. So text Andy to 36912 for 60% off. Andy to 36912. We welcome Charlie Potter from Bama Online. And Charlie, how many Keelan Russell questions have you gotten in your? daily life since the end of the spring game. Like, can you go to the grocery store?
Starting point is 00:30:41 Can you go, can you walk out of your house without someone just yelling the name Keel and Russell at you? I've avoided it so far. Keel and Russell. Yeah, there you go. It feels like that, I guess. But, you know, social media and the message board has been bumping with some Keel and Russell. And that's to be expected.
Starting point is 00:30:58 He had a good scrimmage on Saturday. So what does that mean for the greater quarterback competition? obviously, Kailin Ward is not going to name a starter between Russell and Austin Mac right now. But this is, and this is my struggle with any spring game performance. Like, is that what it looked like in Alabama's case, the other 12 practices they've had, or the two they're going to have this week? Or was that the anomaly? Yeah, like, I have in the past had to temperate expectations based off of how players have performed in the 8-A game.
Starting point is 00:31:33 We've seen a guy like Ajai Hall have a huge. huge A-Day game. And we all know how that ended up. But, you know, the thing for Alabama is this time last year, they didn't have a game. They had a practice. They scrimmaged a little, but it was more just like a regular practice for A-Day. And then we heard from Ryan Grubb, like the following Monday or Tuesday, I believe. And that's when he said, you know, if we play the game tomorrow or later this week,
Starting point is 00:32:00 Ty Simpson would be the starter. I don't think he would say that necessarily this week. you know, you never know with Ryan Grub. He likes to name Starters just kind of on a whim. We saw that with Jackson Lloyd earlier this spring. But I think if you had asked me before the spring, who would be that guy? Like, I would have been surprised if it had been anybody but Austin Mack. But now, after seeing him for two hours with my own eyeballs, I think this is very,
Starting point is 00:32:25 a competition between two guys. So it's one of those things where I think it's going to linger well into preseason camp. But I think the Red Star Freshman is firmly in the mix from the week. job. Charlie, I live in Dallas and when he was a five-star prospect in the area, like Dallas was like obsessed with him. And I don't know if like my mindsets just obviously you can ask Andy, my mindset's always changed based on someone's recruiting ranking, but I always had this thought of like wherever he goes, he's going to be awesome. How is he dealing with the fact that he's now going into a second year and hasn't been named the starter yet. And, you know, just what's his general
Starting point is 00:33:07 temperament and viewpoint on his placement on Alabama's roster and in future? Yeah, I would love to tell you that we've heard from him this spring. Yeah. They haven't made those quarterbacks available. I did talk to Keelan, though, in L.A. before the Rose Bowl, because that was, like, the only availability for that full team media day. And he seems like he just has, like, the best head on his shoulders. Like, he's got a good temperament. He knows he chose Alabama for a reason, and he knows there's there's a lot of competition, but I also think he knows the player that he is. And I think his teammates know that too. Like his playmaking ability is what everybody talks about, is what you see when he's out there on the field. I think the biggest thing for Keelan is just minimizing the
Starting point is 00:33:44 mistakes. Like he's still a young player. He takes some serious out there. And so I think for him, it's just, you know, it's minimizing that. I think he's got a really good grasp of the offense. You can tell he's learned the playbook. And it helps being a full year in the system. But he's a guy that can make a ton of plays. Make those when you need to make them. You don't have to throw a home run ball every time. And so I think we saw some of that from him in the eight-day scrimmage. He didn't make a mistake late with an interception. And that's what I'm talking about. I think if he can clean those up, it's a chance where we're talking a lot more about him, maybe being the front-ruder than firmly in the mix. Andy, I know we're probably
Starting point is 00:34:26 going to change the subject here, but let me put a gun to his head. We're not. This is the Alabama a quarterback job we're not changing subject yet okay i put a gun to his head sure gun to your head who's starting game one i think it's keelan um if he keeps this up like i think austin mac too like he's a guy that was limited in the scrimmage um he did some good things but it was clear just watching the two of them how talented keelen wrestle is and he's a guy that um you know his teammates have confidence in him i think he has a lot of confidence in himself and if he keeps this up i think he he's the guy like If it's close, you go with the young guy that has a ton of talent. And I think that's ultimately what will happen.
Starting point is 00:35:06 But we'll see. They got a lot of seven-on-seven stuff to go in the summer. They got several scrimmages in the fall. But if he keeps up what he was able to do on Saturday, I like Keelan's chances. So Kalen-Dabor got asked about this because they did a goal line section at the end. And Keel and Russell basically took all the reps. And so he gets asked about it. Here's what he said about Austin Mac on Saturday.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Yeah, we just had to limit Austin just with some stuff. So just that was why. So this week was a little bit where Austin, our Keeling, and got more reps just with some things Austin's going through. So Austin was good for the most part, but I wasn't able to finish it out. But he'll be fine. So Charlie, did he look limited when you saw? Because he was playing in, you know, full field scrimmage before that.
Starting point is 00:35:56 Yeah, I mean, I had to put on like my, high school reporter had and like keep live stats by hand because we weren't in the press box. They don't put out stats for any scrimmages. So it was up to us. And so what they did before they got to the red zone portion, which was the last like six drives of the game, they had 10 drives. And it was awesome. That comes out first with the ones. Here comes Keelan with the twos.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Then they flip. So they get two drives apiece. Then they did like a drive with the threes. They did that again where Austin Matt comes out, plays with the ones. ones, Russell with the two, they flip it. So they got four drives apiece, two each with the ones, two each with the twos. And look, I know they're in black jerseys. There's black, no contact jerseys means like, you know, don't touch the player, no hitting the quarterback especially. But he didn't look limited in those, you know, four possessions that he had. Now, granted,
Starting point is 00:36:48 a lot of them weren't as long as Keeling Russell's because they either stalled out or they attempted to fill goal. But he looked pretty good. Like he looked, I didn't notice anything. And then he came out and he actually led the first red zone drive. And so from that point on, he watched from the sideline. He wasn't getting any kind of attention from Jeff Allen or any of the trainers. So it was a little odd. And I understand people thinking like, oh, they're just giving a ton of reps to Q&A. But I do believe that, you know, they're being cautious.
Starting point is 00:37:16 It's the spring. You don't want to ruin anything. They saw a guy get carted off earlier in the scrimmage. So I think it was a cautionary thing for the coaching staff. But it was a little odd because just from. where we were sitting, Austin Mac didn't look very limited. I don't know what the injury is, but he's a guy that like that throw to Ryan Coleman Williams. On the money, didn't look like he had any kind of limitations there. It was just a little bit strange to hear that from
Starting point is 00:37:42 Kaelin. You know, I think we did find out too, like last year at this time when when the Ty Simpson comment was made, we were like, oh no, wow, we were kind of caught off guard and then Ty Simpson turned out to be an awesome player. It sounds like both of these guys would, would have them in a pretty good position, but it also is a really important year for Bama and obviously Kailin DeBore. How much do you think placement expectations, all these things play a factor into who is more poised to take Alabama into a critical season? I mean, I think they like both of the guys.
Starting point is 00:38:16 And it's clear, like, they didn't go out and get a transfer. They didn't lose any of them. So it's one of those things where I think they like the chances they have with both Austin Mac and Keelan Russell. So I don't know how much bearing the season will have on the decision. I think how these guys continue to perform in practice and these scrimmages will. And look, I mean, the thing with Keelan Russell has been his leadership, his command of the offense. How has that been? Because I think Austin Mack probably has a little bit of a head start on him just because he's older, more experience,
Starting point is 00:38:47 it's more comfortable with the system. But it sounds like Keelan's taking that next step too. So I really think it's it is a two-player competition. Like last year, especially after spring, it was. wasn't so much of a battle per se between the three players, you know, Ty and Austin and Keelan. This one's a true like competition. I think it's one, like they would like to name a starter.
Starting point is 00:39:09 I think like a couple weeks before the season starts after that preseason scrimmage, but it could be one that lingers too. So I don't think it's, you know, Keeleyn sitting in his office and saying, you know, what guy's going to give us the best opportunity? I think that's a given and the pressure that Alabama feels. I don't think the quarterback battle or whatever has much bearing on that. Well, and one thing that may be as important as the quarterback competition is how they set up their offensive line. Obviously, that's a huge area of concern coming out of last season.
Starting point is 00:39:45 They replace their O-line coach, their tight ends coach. They bring in a bunch of new offensive linemen. They let people go through the portal. I have DeBore talking about the offensive line. I want to get your take on something he said toward the end of here. So here's, here's Kail and DeBoer on the offensive line. Offensive line-wise, what I do feel is that their communication, their technique and execution is getting better.
Starting point is 00:40:12 And it's not something that happens overnight. They'll continue to work. Still got a whole week ahead of us of practice and would expect them to get better. I think from the center on out, though, the communication guys are on the same page. Not a lot of guys busting assignments. It's going to happen here and there. still in the spring, new faces in certain spots, but I thought for the most part, you know, we're getting a play off to a good start here in the early stages of spring.
Starting point is 00:40:36 So I talked to Josh Quavis at the Senior Bowl, and Josh was starting tight in for Alabama last year. And he said the biggest problem with their blocking was communication, Charlie. How important has that been to get that fix? Yeah, I think it's critical, especially with so many new faces. And I think that is, I don't want to say it's surprising that they're kind of talking highly about it this spring. But bringing in a guy like Racin Delgado, the transfer from Cal Poly, he's kind of really entrenched himself as the center. He's the anchor, the signal caller, the guy that does that communication up front. And look, Parker Balesford is one of the biggest losses for this team, a guy that entered the draft a year early.
Starting point is 00:41:17 And you just wonder another kind of small center coming from a small school, how does that translate it? sounds like it's translated well. And then you've got, you know, new guys at left tackle with Jackson Lloyd stepping in. Left guard still kind of up in the air because they've had, you know, injuries to guys that are going to be in the mix there. And then you're kind of moving things around at right guard and right tackle with Michael Carroll moving from tackle to guard. And then Jave and James coming over from Mississippi State. There's just so many, like, new and moving pieces on that offensive line that to hear that it's doing well from a communication standpoint is big. Like, but I think, yes, communication is important, but the execution has to be there too.
Starting point is 00:41:57 And they did some decent things on Saturday, but the run game still work in progress. They have to get that going. I think that starts up front. Those running backs are going to be a big part of it too, but this offensive line has to be better at that. And it wasn't great on Saturday, I will say, just from a, you know, an onlooker point of view. But I think that this group is, it's, I didn't expect the run game to look like, you. you know, 2015 with Derek Henry. It's a situation where they've got so many new guys that it's going to take some time
Starting point is 00:42:26 for them to jail and come together. And it sounds, though, like, for me, communication and the chemistry standpoint, that is coming along with nicely. Charlie, before we started recording here, I was working on a list of 10 players with breakout potential for next year. And I almost put Ryan Williams on there, but I didn't because he kind of was already broken out. I mean, I feel like you can't break out if you're on the cover of the NCAA video game.
Starting point is 00:42:49 But I do think that his season last year, year was kind of weird. What happened with him last year and what are your expectations for him coming? Because obviously, you know, his performance has a huge impact on whoever wins that quarterback battle. I think it's a couple things. One, like, obviously I think some of it was mental because he had 10 drops. I think that's the third most of any wide receiver at the FBS level. You can't have that. But he also, I think was dealing with some injuries. And I think he's healthy now. he's added some weight. When Ty Simpson talked to reporters after his pro day workout,
Starting point is 00:43:24 which Ryan was out there running routes for him, he was surprised by how much bigger he's gotten. And I think that will help Ryan. Like I think as a true freshman, he might not even weighed like 160 pounds. So he's a guy that's added some mass to his frame. And I think that he's a guy that he made some nice plays in scrimmage. And he's someone they need to step up, especially if Noah Rogers is down for a while.
Starting point is 00:43:46 So it's a big year for Ryan. I think he knows that. And I think he's really attacked this offseason of that mindset. And so far, you know, he's had a really good spring. I know there were some, like, videos that came out of that pro day, which granted, I was on the way to Chicago for the NCAA tournament. So I wasn't a part of this. But of him, like, dropping a pass when Ty Simpson was throwing passes to him.
Starting point is 00:44:09 Well, then, like, two days later at their first scrimmage, he goes off and scores three touchdowns. He's a guy that is capable of making huge plays, and I think this offense needs that from him. And I expect him to have a big year. Like, when no Jeremy Bernard, they need – I was about to say two. Now he's in number one. They need one to step up this fall in a big way, and I think he's pretty poised for that. Ryan Coleman Williams, big potential season. But yeah, it's been a strange career so far for him.
Starting point is 00:44:40 You can't have a better first five or six games of your freshman year and then just weird since then. But it's going to be fun to watch what he can do. And it will depend on who's throwing on the ball, I guess. But Charlie Potter, I know it doesn't stop. The grind never ends in Alabama's got two more spring practices this week. So thank you so much. Thanks for having me, guys. Appreciate you being here, Charlie.
Starting point is 00:45:03 Thank you. Thank you to Charlie Potter for that one. and I am very intrigued by Ryan Coleman Williams, because it's such a strange situation. You don't usually see someone break out immediately like that and then kind of go into a shell for an extended period of time. And what's interesting is he's the best quote on this team, and they're happy to bring him out for interviews.
Starting point is 00:45:32 And he almost feels like the team spokesman, like we hear from him the most. He's got to contribute. commensurate to that. And he definitely has the talent to do it. It's just a matter of putting it all together. Yeah, very weird season because you know that at any point he can pop off for 200 yards and a few touchdowns. And like drops are are a thing that some receivers have to work through and stuff.
Starting point is 00:45:59 But like I don't understand why drops would also stop him from being so electric. Like there were times where we were watching Pama last year where it didn't even feel like he was on the field. Like there was one game. I think it was the, there was the Auburn game. when we were in Detroit watching it together. I was like, is Ryan even on the field? Yeah, you asked that question. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:15 And like, I just, I don't know how that is possible, and I don't think it can be possible this year. Obviously, the offensive line working through some things, fixing that horrid running game from a year ago, obviously our main tenants of Alabama football repairs this off season. But I just don't think that Alabama will be where it wants to be at the end of next year if Ryan Williams doesn't have a great year. I just don't see how it worked that way.
Starting point is 00:46:36 Like, you saw with the freshman in the spring, game. Like, they've got some very large freshman receivers, just physically huge. And Ryan Williams obviously different physically than that. But they seem to have a good mix of players in the past game. And if, you know, we'll see with Russell or Mack who winds up throwing the ball. If it's Russell, some of your run game might be taken care of by the quarterback as well. So that maybe, and maybe that factors into decision as you go forward. Like we said with Florida, John Summerall wants to get the offensive line straightened out first. That may be what Kailin DeBore wants to do, too.
Starting point is 00:47:13 He may want to know what his line's going to be and have an idea of how good his line will be at run blocking before he makes a decision. Because my guess is if he thinks they're not going to be great run blockers that you probably want to go with Russell because he's going to give you a better chance of having a productive run game because of that speed. He can, you know, if he escapes the pocket or you can run,
Starting point is 00:47:36 design runs with him. So I'm fascinated. see how that all shakes out. Sticking in the SEC, though, there's a game we've talked about over and over again in September, week three, that I just can't wait for it. It's every soap opera aspect of college football that you want converging into one game in Oxford, Mississippi,
Starting point is 00:47:58 when LSU goes to Ole Miss. And remember, part of the reason there was so much anger for Lane Kiffin leaving Ole Miss in the middle of a playoff run to go to LSU is that this already was a rivalry. I realize that people outside of those two fan bases may not realize how big of a rivalry it is. But I want to point you to the baseball series this weekend.
Starting point is 00:48:23 We got some video that came out of the baseball series. You've probably seen this online. LSU fan in the outfield, hanging with the Ole Miss students. He's being escorted out of the game. I don't know what he's done to this point, but he's being escorted out because apparently it's not going well. someone throws a beer at him and he slugs somebody. Now, we have multiple angles of the video.
Starting point is 00:48:49 The person he punches is not the person who threw the beer. It's just a bad place to be. Wrong place, wrong time, Andy. The person he punt, like, this punch from this LSU fan is tremendous, though. He's a Southpaw. And when he gets, he, now, look, I don't think the guy's ready to defend himself because he's not the person who threw the beer. So he's not expecting this.
Starting point is 00:49:09 but this is a hell of a straight left. Yeah. Boom. Have you ever been socked in the face like that before? Not like that. I don't know what that would feel like. And I actually feel bad. Lights would be going out if you're hit like that.
Starting point is 00:49:23 Yeah. Feel bad for the dude who got the stray there. But I do think that, you know, this type of thing is usually something that we see in Philadelphia Eagles stands. And that's just like not. Also, the guy I suspect through the beer, like this very much feels like the sign. JFK episode where they're trying to figure out who the,
Starting point is 00:49:43 who the second spitter was with Roger McDowell and Keith Hernandez. The guy who I think throws the beer, and I'm not going to even identify them in the video because I don't want to do it wrong, but the one I think throws the beer. If you look at the last angle, you see this person shrinking back like Homer Simpson into the hedge. Yeah. To get away.
Starting point is 00:50:03 And then this poor dude who had nothing to do with the beer probably had something to say, because I think he was right in front of the guy, just getting smoked with a left. It just sucks because if you're the guy who threw the beer, then you cower away, and then someone else takes the shot that you were meant for. Yeah. You sleep well at night?
Starting point is 00:50:23 Or do you just feel like you're just like an all-time? If you're a person who would throw a beer to do like that and then just slink away, I don't think you lose any sleep because that's just the type of person. You're a coward. You're a coward. There's a word for it. I think it starts with a B.
Starting point is 00:50:37 But like, you know, it's, a nice little preview of what we might be getting here in September, right? Well, Lane Kiffin chimed in on it. Yeah. Briefly, because he deleted it later. But Lane Kiffin said, one thing all of you people know, you of all people know, so he's responding to a car dealer named Matt Bowers,
Starting point is 00:50:59 who he has a president, you know, he understands the LSU and Oxford fan bases. Like, if you look at Matt Bowers, his profile, it says he's from Baton Rouge and Oxford. So he is the type of person who understands this. So Lane says one thing you of all people know, Matt, is LSU fans aren't ever going to lose a fight to Ole Miss fans ever. Hashtag F-A-O-F-O, the A is around, the O is out, the F. Well, one of them is fine.
Starting point is 00:51:32 So Lane deleted this because I think he probably knew it was going to get thrown back in his face a lot in September. I've got to say, deleting a tweet is also pointless if you're somebody that famous. Right. It's been screenshot a million times by this point. Yeah. We saw it. You said it. It will be used against you.
Starting point is 00:51:55 I cannot be more excited for, like, so here's my thinking, Ari. Because we're going to have some serious arm wrestling matches here at On 3 about who gets to cover that game. I don't know that we're going to win. Are you serious? Are you serious? I don't know. Seriously? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:52:11 but here's the thing I'm not even sure I want to go to the game I think I just want to go to Baton Rouge on Monday and Tuesday and then drive to Oxford and just be there Wednesday Thursday I just want to soak up the vibes in both of those places
Starting point is 00:52:29 for that week I'm not going to give any oxygen to that horseshit idea oh you're going to the game no matter what are you talking about we're going to the scene of the it's like I want to go to the birthplace of the boxer who's in the heavyweight champion championship in Las Vegas. No, I want to go to Vegas. I want to go to the thing.
Starting point is 00:52:48 Well, I got some good news for you. I just got my son's high school football schedule. You'll never guess what the open week is. Is it that week? It is that week. Hallelujah. Isn't that a really big weekend? It's a great week. That's the other problem is some of us are going to have to cover the other games because it is a banger of a week. Yeah. I guess, like, Will.
Starting point is 00:53:13 you know, we have some, some big guns at the company now. So I guess you have to also, our most recent hire is very familiar with LSU and probably would stand to gain a lot from going to that. Like I'll be a team player, but I very much would like to see that. No, no, no, no. Listen, we will spend some of that week in Oxford, I think. I just don't see any other way. I think we have to.
Starting point is 00:53:33 I think the show demands it. Like, even if we don't go to the game, what if we did like our, our tailgate lot that week or whatever? Like we let's be in some somehow. So anyway, this is one of the most anticipated regular season college football games of my entire career. In terms of two good teams, two coaches with amazing storylines. And then, of course, the interconnected storyline, which is one left, one school for the other in very ugly ways. So it's going to be fun. But you see, like that baseball fight shows you a little bit of the intensity of this rivalry.
Starting point is 00:54:11 And obviously, both of those fan. basis care deeply about college baseball too. So it's not, this is not just because of anything that happened with Lane Kiffin. They already hated each other in college baseball. They've hated each other in football. Like they hate each other, period. But that, again, underscores how intense this is going to be with Lane Kiffin leaving. I mean, we talked about it so much when it happened, but it's still, when I think back on it,
Starting point is 00:54:42 Ari. He left in the middle of a playoff run, just left. Yeah, every time you try to go back and think about it and make it not that big of a deal because if there's been months to like simmer down, you just go back and realize, oh, yeah, that was a pretty big deal. Yeah. The other thing that I will say, Andy, and like I don't know much about college baseball, although I think my alma mater won a college world series in the not so distant past, right? Didn't Arizona win one?
Starting point is 00:55:08 Correct. And LSU still its coach. if you throw a beer on anybody under any circumstance you're probably going to get sock in the face right like that's like and you deserve it yes like that's not like just uh they're baseball fans and they're super excited also perfectly good beer like that yeah i don't know uh i've never been punched like that but if i did some and i've done some things you know you've done some things that that probably merited being punched like that the story you've told about taking the guy's pizza and just taking a bite out of it
Starting point is 00:55:39 when you were in college. Like you should have been, you should have gotten a straight left just like this one. Yeah, I was lucky that the person who I stole the pizza from was in complete shock.
Starting point is 00:55:50 Like that's, so like that is, but if I would have gotten, this LSU fan was ready to throw hands anyway. Also, if you're out of game and your intentions are high and he was already being escorted out too.
Starting point is 00:56:01 So like, and if you look at his jersey, it's kind of yanked to the side, meaning maybe that's not his first fight of the day of the afternoon yeah yeah uh so i feel bad i hope the guy's okay um that got sucked but if you are the person who threw the beer and coward away i just want you to know that like you're a certified loser and i hate you yeah the internet's gonna find you fine yeah because if you'll do something you'll do something like this again too and and you're you will get your comeuppance all right
Starting point is 00:56:34 Ari knows, I love the videos where some jerk gets his comeuppance, where somebody's a complete jerk to somebody and they just get their lights turned out. Yeah. It's not this video, obviously, because he hit the wrong person. But if he'd hit the person who threw the beer, it would have been my ideal video. Yes. Just, yeah, be a better person. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:57:01 I don't know. If you're mad enough to throw a beer. If you're man enough to throw the beer and you're man enough to do that to somebody else then be man enough to look him in the face when he gets up off the ground for doing it. Be man enough to look his fist in the face. Or be, because like, listen, you might
Starting point is 00:57:17 win the fight, you know? If you're going to do it and you want to start a fight. If you're slink away after throwing beer guy, you're not winning a fight. Yeah, I'm just saying, if you want to pick a fight and you want to do something that starts the fight, then be man enough to engage in the fight.
Starting point is 00:57:33 Whether you win or lose is up to you. exactly exactly all right one more thing that's socked on the face on the show or something and just like tell him that he's the man or like make him feel oh he he didn't do it any wrong like and he took it like i'll be honest he took it like an absolute g he did because one you're not expecting that because you didn't throw the beer yeah and he's up pretty quick he got up pretty quick yeah that was a hell of a shot he took okay one more thing that drove me crazy over the weekend there are the these rage bait accounts, they typically aggregate NFL news and just try to piss people off with it. I saw that with the Colorado Spring Game this weekend. This group of accounts that all do this, one of them posted a video of the first people out of the locker room for Colorado to warm up for the spring game. and talking about how tiny they are and they're going to get destroyed and people on the internet just took off with this
Starting point is 00:58:40 took off running. Guys, it's the specialists. Those are going to be the smallest people on the team. You saw no 50, 60 and 70 numbers. I assure you Colorado has large humans on the team. I assure you. In fairness, though, those look like small specialists too. I know, but most punt returners
Starting point is 00:59:00 and kick returners are small people. Like you don't have six four, two hundred twenty pound receivers doing that. Yeah, that's not the size of the team. Yeah. So and I, you know what I hate to is like we also get accused of rage baiting all the time and we don't. And then you see accounts like that that actually are. It's real rage bait. Like that's not like we don't engage in this ever.
Starting point is 00:59:23 Now I have unpopular opinions as do you. And we share those opinions quite frequently. But like it's not designed to make people angry or to humiliate somebody. like that way. Yeah. So, you know, I think that Colorado is probably facing
Starting point is 00:59:36 an uphill battle of being very good this year. And I don't think that that clip is the reason why. Yeah. Yeah. They have small specialists. So do it.
Starting point is 00:59:46 So does everybody else smaller than the other players on the team. They're still bigger than most people. So that's pretty much it. But yeah, this is where out of, we're good at blowing out of context, spring clips out of proportion.
Starting point is 01:00:02 but we tend to focus on the positive in those. Yeah, we'll be the good guys in this situation. Feels good. Well, it's like even the DJ Lagway thing when they, they released the video of him throwing the three ducks. We made sure we showed the video of him throwing the perfect spiral to you. It was a bold strategy, though, Cotton, to pick those ones. Because that was not, that wasn't a, that was not a reasonable.
Starting point is 01:00:25 That was their account. That was them. Yeah. It's like, pushing the picture to your own Instagram with view with the four chins. Like, it's like, not every. everybody always looks good and every you you post the ones of you that look good. Mm-hmm. Yep. Ari, I love.
Starting point is 01:00:39 We just spent it up other than the baseball fight, which was hysterical. We spent the whole show talking about actual football. Feels good. Feels great. We're actual football. Okay. Andy, we're, we're, I got to say, I don't want to, you know, maybe I'll knock on some wood here. I think we're, we're tackling this off season pretty well right now.
Starting point is 01:01:00 Like, I think we're in a pretty good rule. We're so close. We're so close. It really is right. Brent Hubs from BallQuest joins us. We talk about the quarterback competitions being an endangered species, but there is one in Tennessee between two guys who signed with Tennessee out of high school, like the oldest of the old school. Plus, a little more drama going on with the balls.
Starting point is 01:01:20 They had their spring game. We'll break it all down with Brent Hubs tomorrow. We'll talk to you then.
