Starting point is 00:04:02 We have a guaranteed well, it's not guaranteed, but it's probably guaranteed. College football playoff elimination game in Baton Rouge. We have one that might be an elimination game in Oxford. And Ari, we're looking at 12 games this week. So eight of these games have a road favorite. Eight of these games. Wow, yeah, that's crazy. You know, Andy, before we get into this stuff, I just wanna tell you something that's on my mind. Okay. So we're talking, me and my wife were talking last night about, you know, December and our plans

Starting point is 00:04:42 and all the stuff that's coming up with the bulls and early signing period and all that. And she goes, is it just me or have there been way less games this year? And you want to know what? It's because it's November 4th and it's 81 degrees here in Dallas. And it just has not feel like we're at the point of the year that we're at. I mean, does it feel like that to you too? Like sometimes I'll like be looking at the, you know, bubble watch or mean, does it feel like that to you too? Sometimes I'll be looking at the bubble watch or bracketology or it's like,

Starting point is 00:05:08 we have two months of this left. And it's like, actually we are in November and rivalry games are in three weeks. Like even yesterday when we were talking about maybe going to the A&M Texas game, it's like, I looked at the calendar, that's like in three weeks. Yeah, it's unbelievable.

Starting point is 00:05:21 And I look at it like November 1st was your two month anniversary at On3. And I know I look at it like November 1st was your two month anniversary at on three. And we've been having you and I have been having so much fun doing this show together again, that I think it's just sort of flown by for us. But I think it's flown by for everybody. It feels like it feels like the season just started. And we got teams we're going to talk about today who have three games left. I know. I know.

Starting point is 00:05:46 It's weird. But yes, I think that the title of this show is fitting. And I think that it's possible, Andy, or not possible. We did probably say that games were elimination games too early this year because there were games that weren't actually elimination games. I understand why we thought that because, man, if you lose that game, then you're probably

Starting point is 00:06:06 going to lose another one. But technically speaking, I've got a list of 31 teams that went into last weekend that were alive in the college football playoff race. When we're done here, I'm going to whittle that down. We're going to get some work up on the On 3 website, and we're going to talk about it on Tuesday. But we're at the point now where it's

Starting point is 00:06:24 supposed to be sweater weather, and the playoff is getting revealed on Tuesday. But we're at the point now where it's supposed to be sweater weather and the playoff is getting revealed on Tuesday night and it's just like we are in the thick of like drama season. So we got to bring it on this podcast because like this is this is where people really want to come to you know guidance and argue and get mad and all. I mean like we are going to be debating a lot more than we've had the first few months and I'm really, I'm really fired up. So excited to talk about this weekend's games and you know, happy November everybody. We made it. Yeah, it is. It's going to be a crazy month.

Starting point is 00:06:55 I think this past Saturday was a good indicator of what to expect for you had Iowa State going down as an undefeated team. Then they're no longer in a feed. We're going to talk about them in a few minutes and like they're the spread on their game is wild unless you've been watching this show and you know about the special big 12 coin, the plus three and a half minus three and a half coin. And you had, you know, the Penn State, Ohio State game obviously had huge stakes and now helps clarify that

Starting point is 00:07:26 Louisville beating Clemson, SMU beating Pitt clarifies the ACC race a little bit, but the big 12 is going to be nuts. The ACC is going to be really interesting going down the stretch just because how do they get two teams in if they can? The SEC race is going to be wild because we don't know know who's in play in Atlanta. We don't know who's going to get eliminated. Like this is this is going to be every week in the SEC now is going to be a lot of high stakes games. The Big 10 like Indiana continues to be a wagon. We'll

Starting point is 00:08:01 talk about them in a little bit because I think Vegas has finally figured out what Indiana is. And yeah, this is going to be a lot of fun. A little bit sad for me though. I like seeing the, the, the graphic on the screen that says week 11 picks, like we got to cherish these weeks. This is going too fast. Yeah. I mean, it's like Thanksgiving isn't two and a half weeks.

Starting point is 00:08:26 It's 80 degrees out here. What are we doing? Like it's weird. I don't know if it's just the weather that's messing with my internal clock or just how much fun the season's been. But like it's just, we are in crunch time right now. And I'm just like looking at the SEC standings

Starting point is 00:08:38 and there's five teams with one loss in conference play. It's like, how is that going to shake out? And then also too, like Ole Miss is potentially gonna put itself in a really good position if it were able to beat Georgia on Saturday. So even if you're a two loss team, you're not 100% out of the picture of the SEC race, but certainly not out of the picture in the playoff race

Starting point is 00:09:01 as I had Alabama in in my projection this week. So yeah, a lot to talk about. Let's talk about let's get started with these games and we'll start with Friday night because we get a treat on Friday night. We get to pick the Iowa total for a Friday night game in Pasadena. Nine p.m. Eastern Time, six p.m. local time, Iowa at UCLA. I was a six and a half point favorite. We're not going to worry about spread here. We pick the Iowa total and we are in Iowa over podcast. So I put in my donation for the Children's Hospital because

Starting point is 00:09:34 Iowa, Wisconsin went over 42 and a half. Ari, Iowa almost did it by themselves again. They scored 42 in that game. Yeah, I actually played the game and after we're done here, I'm gonna go make my donation as well. I have not done that yet. So that's an important thing that I've got to do. They are actually scoring very well. Like it's kind of was a shtick,

Starting point is 00:09:58 but like they've scored 40 points in back to back weeks. Like they can score this year. So, you know, it's almost as if they identified the problem, fixed the problem, and then you got the results that you were hoping for a year ago, but you know, they've got one of the best running backs in the country. And Caleb Johnson, uh, carried the ball 24 times for 135 yards and three touchdowns against Wisconsin. I mean, the 42 10 win over Wisconsin, I think is the epitome of the Iowa fan

Starting point is 00:10:24 existence and probably the hell of a Wisconsin fan, I think, is the epitome of the Iowa fan existence and probably the hell of a Wisconsin fan. But yeah, they're actually a team that's scoring quite a bit and they have one of the best run games in college football this year. So good for them. I do kind of wish that their defense was as nasty as it was last year because they would have had a real shot in the big 10, I think, and would have been like a team like USC's nightmare.

Starting point is 00:10:44 It probably would have been a UCLA nightmare, really, if they had that defense and the spread would probably be a little bit higher. I think that 44 and a half is probably a low number here. Like I know it's just a shtick when it comes to, oh, we're going to automatically. I think UCLA is going to help here too. Like UCLA had its, that was his best game of the season against Nebraska. So I don't, I don't know if it's a case of UCLA turning a corner or they just had a really good week. But we've seen UCLA play good in in kind of spurts like that first half against LSU. They were okay. But if yeah, if they play the way they did, this game's definitely going over. And I think they're gonna lose. I think I was gonna win this game. But I think it's going over. I think they're going to lose. I think Iowa is going to win this game, but I think it's going over. Yeah. You know, it's really, really funny to me

Starting point is 00:11:27 about UCLA Andy. And we'll talk about this in the off season about like what realistic expectations should be for that program. I think it's interesting. But if you go look at their five game losing streak this year, they lost to Indiana 42 to 13 before the world knew what Indiana was.

Starting point is 00:11:43 So that was like, oh my God. Then they go to LSU and lose 34 17. Then they play Oregon, Penn State, Minnesota. It was very good. And they were in a competitive game with Minnesota. Like they have not lost to a bad team this year. Like UCLA is having a very rough year and we don't talk about them literally ever. But when you talk about schedule, bad breaks, Indiana, LSU, Oregon, Penn State, Minnesota, all on the road. I mean, sorry, all in a road, not all on the road. It's really, really brutal. And then they turn around and they go back to back weeks and beat Rutgers and Nebraska on the road and back to back weeks and scoring 27 and 35 points against those two teams, teams that are supposed to be pretty hard to score against. Like, I don't think that UCLA is quite as bad as people think.

Starting point is 00:12:25 I think they just got hit with the losing ticket on the schedule lottery there. I think you may be right. And Deshaun Foster's doing a pretty good job. If Deshaun Foster can recruit the way he says he wants to recruit, and that is, we'll find out because remember Chip Kelly just sort of punted on high school recruiting at UCLA while he was there, so

Starting point is 00:12:45 they've got to build their network again. But I think they could actually come out of this pretty well, and I realize people think Deshaun Foster was kind of a placeholder. It was a weird situation. Chip Kelly leaving when he did was not necessarily expected, even though they were kind of telegraphing that they were probably going to fire chip after this season if he stayed like They're in a really interesting Position because if they play well through the end of this season, I think that might get some recruits excited

Starting point is 00:13:16 Also think the recruiting world to any side about going to live in Beverly Hill or Westwood, but Beverly Hills adjacent There's an opening in California too, because I think that if you're paying close attention to the way that USC is recruiting right now, they're not necessarily living by the mantra of Southern California or die. You know what I mean? Like they're out there all over the place. Yeah, they're taking commitments from Georgia who will then decommit later. Yeah, exactly. Exciting in the moment does nothing for your program, but, uh, create disappointment later in the recruiting cycle. And then of course holes in your roster because you've neglected people in your own state. Um, use USC and UCLA, uh, need to be living and dying by what is in their backyard and I don't know that USC is doing that if the Sean Foster wants

Starting point is 00:13:59 to take that seriously, like UCLA could become an attractive place and. You know, I, I always think, and maybe it's because I grew up or was in my college years when UCLA was the top 15 team, but given where they are located and how beautiful their campus is and the uniforms that they have and all this stuff, like I know the fan support thing is an issue,

Starting point is 00:14:20 but it is a place that I think has the tools to be a really good program. I don't know if I think they're going to be Georgia, but you know, they have an opportunity and you know, Jim, could they be a middle of the pack? Yeah, could it be a middle of the pack that Big 10 program that occasionally has a good year and they're in and that puts them in the top quarter of the Big 10? I don't want to drag you down into this, but like if everything went perfectly for Nebraska and everything went perfectly for UCLA, whose ceiling is higher? UCLA, UCLA,

Starting point is 00:14:52 because I'll go, like you said, when you were in college, it was the Jim Mori years at UCLA and Jim Mora did a good job recruiting at UCLA. Like he was in the mix every year for two or three five star guys. They get one or two of them every year. Like they had talent on that roster. It's doable there. So I think they can get this. If, if Sean Foster is as serious as he sounds about recruiting that area hard, then I think there's a chance that they could be pretty good in the coming years, so I and again opportunities there. The opportunity is there to recruit that area. That's all I'm saying. Yeah, well and to your

Starting point is 00:15:34 point about this season for them, their schedule did suck. And as soon as they got out of the really hard part of it, they started winning which tells you that you know what? Maybe they keep winning. Maybe, maybe, maybe to Sean Foster is doing a good job. Also to road trips to Rutgers and Nebraska for UCLA is not supposed to be the easy part of your schedule. Like that's a tough back to back week situation.

Starting point is 00:16:00 And for them to win both of them, they're probably feeling pretty good. Um, they're going to score in this game. I think the over is probably a pretty safe bet. I like it. It's not a bit. I think I would actually play that. Yeah, we're in Iowa over podcast, but again, it's making sense.

Starting point is 00:16:16 And even though Vegas is kind of figuring it out, because you see those totals going up every week, but I still think they're going over this one. So trying not to do that as much but hopefully little little plan here cuz I I do have to kind of plan do I wanna go how spicy do I wanna go? It is it is my turn this week for the takes on Wendy's. Saucy take Wednesday. So you also have a pretty spicy ghost pepper just to fill the tank. You need a, you have a pretty big responsibility too, because the last two weeks, I don't think either of us were saucy enough.

Starting point is 00:17:57 So you have a, you know, so maybe get a little, I feel like we have an opportunity. Yeah. Yeah. We, we, we have an opportunity to get saucy. Yeah. Yeah. We, we, we have an opportunity to get saucy. Yeah. And given we're doing it the two days after a day after the first college football committee and some other things, you have an opportunity.

Starting point is 00:18:16 Yeah. If you come up with a hot take or a Wendy saucy take for our our show that is about the second most important thing that's happening on Tuesday night. Do it. I think we might lose all our viewers and listeners because we, I feel like we are safe space from all that stuff. Like we're the place you go to avoid all that stuff. So we're going to keep that, keep that energy through the next couple of days.

Starting point is 00:18:45 So don't worry if you're tired of all that other stuff. Come to us. Ari, the other great thing about this Saturday, it's it's even better than anything else all season. There will be no political ads. During the games, none of the political ads in Dallas are wild. It was unbearable. This like the games were amazing. The political ads were Dallas are wild. It was unbearable. This sat like the games were amazing.

Starting point is 00:19:06 The political ads were on. Bearable. Yeah, I had the iPad going. I had a game on my laptop and the four screen on the TV and everything was muted, but the TV. So every time a commercial would come on, I would switch the channel or the sound to go to a different channel. So I actually didn't have to really sit through that many of them, but they are they are really coming out for play here.

Starting point is 00:19:34 Yeah. Oh, yeah. Producer and I River and I were talking about it on Saturday night. And each of us had a moment where there were either you're watching the four box on the TV and you got four games going at once and either three or four of the boxes had political lights. So it's done. It's done after this week. You know what else is done Vegas underestimating, Indiana the

Starting point is 00:20:01 last two weeks we asked like what's it going to take for them to make Indiana a touchdown favorite over somebody else in the Big 10? And well, maybe they've overcorrected this time because Indiana is a 14 and a half point favorite against Michigan. I don't know if they've overcorrected. I mean, it is interesting because they haven't won a game. They haven't won a game by less than 14. That was Washington. Yeah. Um, so they're putting it right on that number, but you know, Michigan, I thought

Starting point is 00:20:36 did a pretty good job of hanging in there with Oregon, but when they're playing a really good team that can score a lot, I think there's just a point where your offense that's fractured just can't score enough. I don't know how we feel about Indiana's defense being just completely shut down in the situation, but I have a hard time imagining that Michigan is going to be able to score enough points in this game to keep it within 15 points. I still think I'm riding with Indiana here. points. I still think I'm riding with Indiana here. Indiana's defense is not completely suffocating, but it is mostly suffocating and then is also opportunistic. They will turn you over and either score on defense or they will set the offense up for an easy score with a short field. That's where the defense is going to score them points too in one way, shape or form.. That's where the defense is going to score them points too, in one way, shape, or form. And that's where the problem is for Michigan because Michigan's offense is again very limited. Like I was watching the Oregon game and Oregon's got a very good defense, but Colston Loveland catches a couple passes

Starting point is 00:21:39 in pretty rapid succession. Like what are you, what's going on here? He's the only person they throw to. How do you lose him? I don't think Indiana will lose him. I think they know he's the only person they're going to throw to. The Michigan's defense just hasn't played up to its potential this year. Like on paper, it is much better than the result has been. So and and I wanted to say to like the cornerback for Indiana, D'Angelo Pons. Um, I don't know if you guys have gotten into Indiana enough to really know who these guys are, but like he is like a five foot nine corner who's blocking punts

Starting point is 00:22:14 and jumping up and intercepting balls. And he's like an electric player. So I just wanted to give him some, some love on the show because we do talk about players a lot and like a James Madison transfer who went to Indiana is not somebody that we would usually be talking about in November. But we should probably be talking about a lot of the James Madison transfers that went to Indiana. Serat, their receiver, is another James Madison transfer who's been just phenomenal for them. And look, Coach Siggs knew what he was taking because he recruited those guys at James Madison. Coach Sigs knew what he was taking because he recruited those guys at James Madison, but then he also brings in a Curtis Rourke and you know, you look at what they've they've

Starting point is 00:22:50 done with the guys they inherited on the on the roster. It's really it's an amazing job that they've done and the fact that we're talking about them as a more than two touchdown favorite against Michigan and we're not really shocked. I'm just shocked at the initial look of it. Because Vegas has not respected Indiana enough the past few weeks.

Starting point is 00:23:14 The last week when it was Michigan State and they opened as a six and a half point favorite. You're like, what the hell? What are you watching? This, based on what we've seen this year, looks completely realistic. But the fact that I'm looking at a block M and I'm seeing Indiana minus 14 and a half like my

Starting point is 00:23:29 brain. Still can't compute that. Yeah, I mean I'm looking at a score like 34 to 17 here. You know what I mean? That's right. I think that puts you right in around the number 3820 or something like that, which would put you right at the total too. So that's actually more than the total, but you get what I'm saying. Oh yeah. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:23:56 So you got Indiana to cover. I am also taking Indiana to cover because these guys, they're very consistent. Until they do something different, I will expect them to do the same thing. Because they have done the same thing every single game. Every game. And like if you watched the game over the weekend against Michigan State, like for a minute there, I was like, Oh no, this could be the game. And then Indiana put it on Michigan state the way that you would anticipate of team like Georgia doing it.

Starting point is 00:24:31 But you watch them play, like they just beat the crap out of them in every facet of the game. Um, and I think too, like Indiana has an opportunity here to like, I still think there's a lot of people out there that don't believe that they're good. So and they probably believe that Michigan's better than they are. Like they have an opportunity if they could put up a, you know, a 40 spot here and win comfortably again, like people might actually start treating them with the respect that they deserve.

Starting point is 00:24:57 Well, they will. And then they'll have a week off and then they'll play Ohio State and we'll find out exactly what they are. But. This has been so much fun to watch. Nick Terry in the chat. This is a really good good one. I know everyone hates game control, which is a stat that the the Playoff Committee references a lot, but Hoosiers man, it's true. They control games. I mean they went down 10 nothing

Starting point is 00:25:22 against Michigan State and is like what what is going on here and then by the by halftime they were very firmly in control and just dominated the rest of the way. Chiefs bucks Baker Mayfield Patrick Mahomes your Baker Rayfield number is 238 and a half passing yards more there and a less than hope you don't have a two a situation Because remember two was at the more than And then they throw he throws it to jalen water or well he threw it to somebody else They were playing pitchy woo at the end of the the bills game

Starting point is 00:27:11 Like, you had it and then you didn't have it. Unless, of course, you already had less than for two. And then you were going crazy on that play. All right, you said earlier in the season, Ari, that we need to have a special coin minted for the big 12 that has plus three and a half on one side, minus three and a half on another. Well, let's look at the Iowa State, Kansas spread. Iowa State was undefeated going into last week.

Starting point is 00:27:40 Then they lost to Texas Tech. Kansas is two and six. What's the spread? Iowa State by three and a half. Yeah, I think that betting the big 12 feels a lot like betting baseball and hockey. It's like the spread's the same every week. You just pick your poison. The interesting thing here, Andy, is that Iowa State is probably playing in an elimination game, right? Like if Iowa State loses this, they will go from 8-0 to 8-2 and out of the playoff and probably out of the Big 12 race. Um, and it snapped their finger. So, uh, because like Colorado is right there. Now, I don't know, like I feel really comfortable with how I think the ACC is going to turn out.

Starting point is 00:28:24 And I feel fairly comfortable with how the big 10 is going to turn out. Although Indiana, we just got them talking about could really throw a wrench in that thought. The big 12. I have really no idea. Like I think BYU is going to do it. But would it be the most shocking result in the history of the planet if BYU lost to Utah in a rivalry game on Saturday? Like you know how that goes. So we're going to talk about that in a minute. And we are. So like Iowa State is seven and one.

Starting point is 00:28:51 They lost the game in the last second after it looked like they were going to survive with a late score themselves for the second consecutive game. But they're still very much alive in the playoff race and in the big 12 race. So we make a big deal out of undefeated teams going and getting their first loss, but you know, that felt different last year. That doesn't feel the same as it does now. Um, and I still really liked their team. You know, I don't know what the take of the, the close games and now the loss to Texas Tech in terms of how good I feel they could be in the playoff winning games and stuff. But there's still very much a lot at stake here and a lot to play for for the Cyclones. So that's true. Kansas, meanwhile, you look at the losses. Now they did have the 11 point loss at TCU, but they've got a bunch of one score losses. They are not as bad as.

Starting point is 00:29:48 The record indicates and the last time we saw them, they were giving Kansas State absolute hell. Now Kansas State went on to lose to Houston, so I don't know. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but. Lance Lightpole is a good coach. Like I am. I'm thinking the Big 12 is going to Big 12. This game is in Kansas City, by the way, because obviously the the Jayhawks Stadium is under construction, so this is an

Starting point is 00:30:13 arrowhead. I'm saying Kansas Moneyline here are you? I think the Big 12. Oh, yeah, we big 12s. I think that that you're picking the spot, right? I'm going to pick the team. I think Iowa State's a better football team this year. Um, and if you had any thought of Iowa State being a team that could do something in the playoff, like, I think Doug Lamar Reese, who we had on the show had them in the semifinal. Uh,

Right? Like they were losing for the entire... It could have been a lot worse. And they took a lead with two minutes left. Like they scored a touchdown when they needed a touchdown. The defense

Starting point is 00:31:19 just didn't get that stop at the end, but they're still a very good football team. So I'm not like 100% out like, oh, I've been praising them all year. They're awesome. They've got great skill position players. Rocco Beck is playing well. Campbell's doing a great job. And then I'm going to be like, oh, they stink now. Like that's like we're going to give them more than than a week to be fully exposed. I'm going to ride with them this week. I think they're going to not only win, but I think they'll cover the spread.

Starting point is 00:31:43 All right. So we are we are on different sides of this one Let us move to one But I feel like we'll probably be on the same side Miami at Georgia Tech Miami's an 11 and a half point favorite Let's get all our kneeling jokes out of the way now because this was the game That Mario Chris of all refused to win last year that they could have kneeled it out. They didn't Georgia tech came back and really the not kneeling thing was,

Starting point is 00:32:12 was part of it and the Georgia tech forcing the fumble, but it was also Miami's defense collapsing at the end. You and I have both said we, we have concerns about Miami's defense. We have zero concerns about Miami's office this year. Haynes King may or may not play. We don't know if he's going to play yet. Brent Key, you know, doesn't have to say and I don't know if he's going to but Ari, I don't think this matters if Haynes King plays. I think Miami's going to cover this spread. I think they're going to score a

Starting point is 00:32:39 ton of points and Georgia Tech just can't keep up with them. Yeah, even if they have a leaky defense and give up 35 points, uh, to Georgia Tech, I still think that Miami is probably going to score 11 points more, like they just are so good on offense, so explosive. And you know what? I just realized that I made a mistake because I meant to do it this week in the Heisman poll and I didn't. We put Cam Ward in the top three, both of us.

Starting point is 00:33:05 I think ours are identical. Xavier Restrepo. I went under Ash and Gentie Cam Ward. That's yeah, we are the same. Xavier Restrepo is so, so good. He's so good. Like he is so good. He dropped the ball in the game over the weekend against Duke.

Starting point is 00:33:24 And I'm like, I think that's the first time in my entire life I've seen that man drop a pass. And then later in the drive, I think scored the touchdown that ended that drive. So I think he's a remarkable player that Mark Fletcher is playing really, really well. Damian Martinez, the offensive line camera. Like they are- Kobe George, they're getting more involved?

Starting point is 00:33:40 Kobe George is eating defenses alive. That was his big game on Saturday. Like there was a minute there where you thought that Miami had a chance to lose to Duke and then at the end of the game, they covered the 21 and a half and they won by 22. So yeah, I think Miami is that defense is going to show up in December in January, I think I don't anticipate that defense is going to be a problem this weekend. I'm with you Miami, uh, minus January, I think. I don't anticipate that defense is gonna be a problem this weekend, I'm with you, Miami minus 11 and a half.

Starting point is 00:34:08 Yeah, and that probably forever puts to bed the kneeling jokes. That's probably it. What if that knee thing turns out to be the turning point in the program. It could be still didn't have to happen, but it could.

But I remember the opening day column, the first column from a game that I wrote it on three, like started with how nobody takes this Miami kneeling or this Miami team seriously because of the kneeling situation. And then the last line of the column was, well, it's time to take a knee on the jokes after they beat the crap out of Florida. Very clever. But at the same time too, it's like they're going to the ACC championship game this year and they might go to the playoff semifinal and who

Starting point is 00:34:57 knows what the hell's going to happen when you have an offense like that. Like whose offense are you taking over Miami's? Sure. Like, like look me in the eyes right now and tell me who's got a better. There's, there's nobody. If we're talking about pure offense, would you take Ohio states? No. Would you take Oregon's? Maybe that's the only one.

Starting point is 00:35:18 Tess Johnson's out right now. So, but, but that's a maybe that's not a definite, I still think I'd probably take Miami. Electricity in the air down there in South Florida. So, and also to one of the Cavender twins is dating Carson Beck. So it's like kind of like a, like a mole who's going to, is she killing Carson Beck? If she kills Carson Beck, that might call Colin. If just you heard it here first first if Miami plays Georgia in the

And we also have to have really nice luxurious cars.

You get that thing raised up like a freaking monster truck. That's what you get if you play in the SEC. Starting point is 00:39:56 Oh yeah, a Raptor. I love it so much. It's getting a little long in the tooth, but guess what? I still love it. Florida put up a valiant effort against Georgia despite losing DJ Lagway. Florida's line of scrimmage play has gotten considerably better as the season has gone on. We had a long discussion on Saturday night show about Billy Napier. There's a separate video on YouTube

Starting point is 00:44:41 if you'd like to just watch that discussion if you go to the on three sports YouTube channel. I don't know that it's going to change anything for billion ampere ultimately, but it is encouraging. That said Ari, Texas now knows they're playing as Florida's QB three. My guess is even though Florida has gotten better on the lines of scrimmage as the season has gone on, this is where all that runs out. The thing I can't get out of my head is how good Florida looked in the trenches.

Starting point is 00:45:13 I can't get that out of my head. And I don't know if that was an anomaly or if that was a sign of development and production that is to be expected. That said, I think Florida's not going to be expected. That said. I think Florida is not going to score much, you know, like I don't know. That's the problem, and I think it's going to be one of those situations where maybe for a half they're hanging in because the defense is hanging in, but. Kind of actually this would probably play out similarly to

Starting point is 00:45:42 the Oklahoma Texas game where it just. Snowballs as the defense keeps getting put back on the field. Yeah. This is one of those games too, where it's like, if it's 17 to seven at halftime, you're probably feeling pretty good if you're Florida, right? And then the exact like, for instance, like Florida played the best possible game it could have played under the circumstances that it was in. And then a bad mistake at the end of the game and Georgia covered 14 points like they got to Georgia. I think was a 15 point favorite going into the game, but you watch that entire game.

Starting point is 00:46:18 If you had Georgia minus 13 and a half, like some of us did years for toast in the middle of the third quarter. Like you weren't gonna win that bet. And then all of a sudden at the end. And you shouldn't have covered by the way. Like we picked it when it was 16 and a half. So if you got it early in the week, then Florida did cover. Yeah, right. Or if you bought points,

Starting point is 00:46:36 cause you're. Yeah. Or just got incredibly extremely lucky. But I'm saying like the 21 and a half, it could be like a 17 point game and then weird touchdown at the end like happened on Saturday can get you there. So like I want to pick Florida, but I feel like watching Florida play was going to be extremely frustrating. You have to go into that feeling like you're betting on Iowa

Starting point is 00:47:00 because they're not going to be able to move the football. The old Iowa not the new Iowa. Yeah, the old Iowa, the 2023 Iowa. Yeah, I think I'm going to, I'm going to lay the 21 and a half. Yeah. I, I, I, I'm taking Texas to cover the 21 and a half here just because I just, even if Florida plays well for a half, it's going to be very hard for them to score. And if you keep putting the defense back on the field against Texas's offense, bad things happen. Yeah. And like it's a pretty big opportunity for Quinn, you are still like have a game.

Starting point is 00:47:33 I think he needs a game, dude. I don't know. I just like at a certain point as we're getting into November, he needs to have a game because it just like, I feel just so much different about Texas now than I did two weeks ago, like or three weeks ago. And I still feel like the Texas that I felt like three weeks ago is in there somewhere, but you just want to see it, you know?

Starting point is 00:47:53 Yeah. And I think I think that's for the stretch run. That's what they need to show. Let's stay in the Lone Star State different conference though, we're going to pull our special Big 12 coin back out because we got another three and a half points spread in the Big 12. Colorado at Texas Tech. Colorado is favored by three and a half on the road. This is a big, big game for Deion Sanders and company

Starting point is 00:48:15 because Ari, if they win this game, the path gets considerably easier the rest of the way. They would have probably the cleanest path into the Big 12 championship game, though they still need Iowa State to lose. But I think they can get an Iowa State loss somewhere along the line because Iowa State's remaining schedule is tougher than Colorado's. But Colorado's got to beat the team that beat Iowa State first. Yeah, this is a big game. What's the conference this is in? This is a big 12. What's

Starting point is 00:48:49 the spread? Three and a half. I'm talking myself into Colorado and not just in this game. I'm talking myself into Colorado going to Dallas. And I think that they've earned that. They play really good, fundamental sound, fundamentally sound football. Travis Hunter is three weeks away from potentially locking up the Heisman. I think if he has one of those Travis Hunter games in this one, that might solidify his chances of doing so.

Starting point is 00:49:21 I saw that he was innate, a first team all American on offense and defense like that to me. That's all I need. Like, I don't know. You want to talk about stats like that? I don't even know how you argue against that. How do you argue against that? There's plenty of people who are you but you're not going to get it here. Yeah. And even what is the argument against like,

Starting point is 00:49:39 you know what the argument is? This is the argument from the people who don't think Travis Hunter should win the Heisman or be there people who don't even think Travis Hunter should be considered for the Heisman, and their argument is this. If we give them truth serum, I don't like the on Sanders. That's their argument, which is a stupid argument. It's the stupidest possible reason to not want Travis Hunter to be competitive for the Heisman Trophy where he absolutely

Starting point is 00:50:03 should be because he's doing something that we have not seen in the sport in over six decades. Colorado has had a lot of big games with pressure just because of the Deion Sanders factor right but in terms of pressure as it pertains to path to success on the field. Is this the biggest pressure game that Colorado has faced in the Deion era? Yes, because it's on the road in a notoriously tough place to play against a team coming off a massive win

Starting point is 00:50:35 where if you win this one, you are in the best position. Like that is the best position, I think, of anybody in the Big 12 other than BYU, obviously, because they're undefeated but It puts you in probably the most advantageous position other than BYU to make the big 12 championship game of that whole glut of contenders

Starting point is 00:50:56 You go into this game Feeling like if you win there's a very good chance that you control your own destiny in the conference by the end of the Saturday night. Well, I picked the Kansas Moneyline and the Iowa State. Like, they'll, if Kansas beats Iowa State, they'll know when they kick off, if they're in control. Yeah. And I see this, too. I'm gonna put this up, because I think it's fair. Like, Travis Hunter is amazing, but Cam Ward has transformed the entire program at Miami. And like, can we argue they both done that? Like, yeah, I was like, I'm with you. Cam Ward is in my top three, would be on my ballot if we were voting today. Like, I'm with you. And I know that Miami

Starting point is 00:51:36 fans are fired up. Cam Ward deserves a lot of recognition. But like, you can't say that while ignoring that we're talking about Colorado potentially winning into big well. Like, we've seen really good quarterbacks put up big numbers before like in the last few years. We've not seen this in 60 years. What Travis Hunter's doing. Has anybody ever been a first team All-American on both sides of the ball?

Starting point is 00:51:57 Like I'd have to look that up. Has that ever happened? Probably back in the 50s, in the 40s. Okay, so it's never happened because anything that's happened before 1990 is not never happened to me. Like that's the way my brain works. Oh, actually, speaking of the Big 12 in 1990, a stat that I meant to mention on Friday night on Saturday, Kenny Dillingham, our pal, the head coach at Arizona State, will be the first coach born in the 90s

Starting point is 00:52:23 to coach his team in a bowl game. Because the Sun Devils are now bowl eligible. He's doing a great job. They're also playing in a pretty close game. Uh, I mean, I don't know if we're picking an Arizona State game. I don't think we are. They're playing UCF. So it's not moving Neil, but they're playing in a three and a half

Starting point is 00:52:37 point spread game too, in the big 12. Uh, they are six and two dude. UCF spreads have been weird all year. All year. Well, UCF's got a QB now that they feel comfortable about. His last name is Risk. It's spelled R-I-R-I-Z-K, but he was awesome against Arizona.

Starting point is 00:52:56 So yeah, Big 12 is nuts. So, Colorado, Texas Tech. What do we think's gonna happen in this game? Cause you know, like Baron Morton, I thought played a really good game against Iowa State in the rain. We don't know what the winds going to be like in Lubbock. That's always a question mark, but obviously he's going to be more used to it than Chidur is, but Chidur is the better quarterback in this game.

Starting point is 00:53:22 I don't know what to expect. I think Colorado coming off the open date, getting healthy and Colorado has gotten better and better every week. I'm going to take Colorado to cover here. I'm with Colorado too. I look at Colorado's schedule and it's kind of the same thing I said about A&M, where individually, every single game that Colorado has left on their schedule, like if you just take it one by one, I feel like Colorado has a chance to win or should win. You know, I think they're better than Texas Tech, Utah, Kansas and Oklahoma State, but winning all of them is going to be tough. Like, I think I'm at the point where I think Colorado is going to put itself in a position to play for the Big 12 Championship game, but I still have doubt that they'll be able to win four in a row from this point

Starting point is 00:54:07 on. So I'm not sure anybody in the big 12 is going to be able to win their last four in a row. So what I think is going to happen here is I'm probably going to end up picking Colorado every week and Colorado is going to let me down one of the weeks, but they are having a remarkable season. Like a lot of credit goes to Dion Sanders for playing good sound football. Their lines have improved. Jordan Seaton is playing really well at the office of tackle position. They lead the Big 12 in sacks. They have one of the best quarterbacks in the country. And Travis Hunter is the unicorn. Also, too, like, they have some, like, Legente Wester is a really good receiver, right? Like they have guys on their team

Starting point is 00:54:45 that don't get any credit or thought whatsoever because Travis Hunter is so big. But like Jimmy Horn Jr. and Lejante Wester and Travis Hunter might be a top three receiver core in the entire country. Except we only ever talk about Travis Hunter. But like Jimmy Horton Jr. And Wester like make big plays all the time.

Starting point is 00:55:07 So like, give me Colorado. I think that they're playing really well. It does. Yeah. And that quarterback too, who I was reading about, like as a, like I told, then I said before the season that like, I, I would never believe that Shador Sanders is going to be a top five pick in the NFL draft. And like the thing that I've been reading about is that the number one aspect of what makes a quarterback successful in the NFL is being able to excel under pressure.

Starting point is 00:55:39 And I think you can make the case that Shador Sanders has the most reps of anybody in terms of most dirty pocket reps in the country. Well, I mean, dirty pocket reps, but successful dirty pocket reps. Like, he's made a lot of plays on plays that have broken down. And I think that might be a very attractive thing to the NFL scouts that are going to be evaluating him. So there's a lot to like about Colorado. I've been negative towards this program quite a bit in the past, but this is not the time to be evaluating him. So there's a lot to like about Colorado. Starting point is 00:56:07 I'm picking Colorado and I think that they're going to, you know, do something maybe remarkable on health. Dude, if Colorado makes the playoff, I will die. Please don't, we need you on the show. I made fun of a lot of people. Like I was like, cause like a lot of people put, I mean, I think Vegas took thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars of probably millions, I don't know what the status of like Colorado National Championship futures bets. And like I

Starting point is 00:56:32 still don't think that they're going to win the national championship. But could you imagine if they made the playoff, like how much exposure there is to these long shot 201 tickets that people just have because they like being on? Spectacular. Spectacular. You know know it's probably not going to be spectacular this next game, but I put it on here just because it's super weird and very difficult to pick very difficult to pick. Oklahoma at Missouri,

Starting point is 00:56:54 Missouri is a 2 1⁄2 point favorite. We don't know if Brady Cook is going to play. I think if Brady Cook play, we get definitive word that Brady Cook's fine. He's going to play. He's in good shape like one. This line will move like this line. If Ari, if if if Eli Drinkwitz came out Tuesday and said Brady Cook's definitely playing, he's fine. This line moves to Missouri minus 6 1

Starting point is 00:57:18 1 half or 7 1 half, right? I don't know if it goes that far, but I think it would probably be like 4 and a half. Yeah. So Oklahoma, meanwhile, one injury that happened that I'm sure people are not thinking about is Jacob Sexton, their left guard. So he got hurt against Ole Miss.

Starting point is 00:57:39 They didn't need him against Maine. But Brad Venable said last week he's gonna be out for quote unquote, a while, which leads me to believe that they're probably not going to have him this week which means that every snap the blocking is going to be an adventure which was it was going to be an adventure with him but without him it's it's especially bad i have no idea where this goes because i do think if it's his drew pine game for Missouri, Oklahoma's defense is good enough to keep Oklahoma in it.

Starting point is 00:58:09 So we could see a game very similar to the Oklahoma Auburn game, which Oklahoma did end up winning. Yeah. I don't even know where to begin with this, because Mizzou is still a fairly solid team, I think. I feel like they're going to win in the same type of game that they beat Auburn. 21-17, I don't know if they're going to have to erase a deficit to score 15 unanswered points in

Starting point is 00:58:39 the fourth quarter, but I think that that strikes me as the type of score we might be looking at here. Like Drew Pine has played enough where it's not like the Florida situation. I think they can theoretically score with him playing. But I really do not like where Oklahoma is headed. And that offensive line injury to an already bad offensive line is just a gut punch. Yeah, I'm going to take Oklahoma to cover here. Starting point is 00:59:06 because I really don't know. I just, I do trust Oklahoma's defense, probably more than any unit in this game unless Brady Cook's going to play. Now we may have to repick this if Eli Drinkwitz comes out and says Brady Cook's playing. I mean, you're also a sicko if you have this game on your card already.

Starting point is 00:59:22 Like this is on Monday. Like the fact that you put this on here is just like shows me that you have to go see somebody. There's two games in the SEC like this. One for bad reasons, one for good reasons, and the next one's for good reasons. So I'm taking Oklahoma to cover. What are you taking Ari?

Starting point is 00:59:35 I'm taking Mizzou because I don't think Oklahoma can block anybody. Okay. So let's move to the other sicko SEC game. And we're gonna drag out our commemorative big 12 coin for this one. And use it on the SEC. South Carolina at Vanderbilt the game Cox or three and a half point favorite on the road. These are the two most dangerous middle of the conference pack teams in the country like these are the two teams that if you see them on your schedule you're like oh crap and now they're playing each other.

Starting point is 01:00:05 So what the hell does that mean? I was so impressed with South Carolina on Saturday night. That was an ass kicking and Lenora's cell seems to be getting better and better every week and they've got a really good pass rush and rocket Sanders is going to be playing in the NFL for 10 years. Like they have pieces, man. On the other hand, Diego Pavia is just simply electricity. Like, I don't know. And Vandy's defense shut down an Auburn running game that had run on everybody. Auburn had run on every team they'd played against and couldn't do anything against Vandy.

Starting point is 01:00:47 Yeah. Um, within a few spots of each other too, and the SEC standings, but like we're looking at Vanderbilt right now. And Vanderbilt was six and three and I cannot believe they lost to Georgia state. That was such a weird game. And frankly speaking, still can't even lose to believe they lost to Mizzou. But they played in a one possession game with Texas they beat Auburn by shutting them down. They're playing at home. They're feeling good. I don't know this is a really hard game to pick. So I'm picking South Carolina to cover here and I'll tell you why because that is the best I have seen South Carolina's offensive line play in years against Texas A&M.

Starting point is 01:01:27 And if they've turned a corner there, they're going to be good the rest of the way. Like, I would not want to be Clemson playing them either. That if now maybe it's a one time thing. Maybe that was just a shot, you know, one full weird full moon situation. But that's the best I've seen their offensive line play in years. So if this is going to keep up. I can see them winning out.

Starting point is 01:01:55 Yeah, I think I'm on South Carolina here too. I mean, I don't know. I don't feel good about it, but the way that they played on Saturday, like I think South Carolina would be in the game with anybody in the conference. Honestly. Yes, I agree. I actually think both these teams, well, we know with Vandy because they beat in Alabama, they took Texas to the wire. Like both these teams would be in it with anybody in the league. Like South Carolina, I would argue, I don't know about Vandy because I just don't know if they have the top end talent on the

Starting point is 01:02:25 right day. Could South Carolina give Ohio State a game? I think so. I think on the wrong day they could give them a game. I mean, they have important pieces at big positions. And if Lenora Sellers keeps playing the way that he's playing, like he he is a star, man. Like, that's isn't just like a guy playing okay. Like, he's a really fun player to watch. He extends plays as well as anybody in the country. He's got a good arm. He's dangerous with his legs, maintains pressure and dirty or maintains composure under pressure and dirty

Starting point is 01:02:59 pockets. Like, I like him a lot. I think Cody Belair was onto something with this guy. buckets like I like him a lot. I think Cody Beletta was onto something with this guy. Oh, yeah, Cody. Cody was all off season on Hey, watch this guy. Watch this guy. Watch this guy. So that's gonna be that's gonna be a fun, fun game to watch. That's a 415 Eastern SEC Network game, which is great because probably at halftime of whatever game you're watching, you're gonna switch to that and then you're gonna forget to change it back because you're going to be having so much fun watching it. Let us move to the big 10. Washington at Penn State, 13 and a half point spread here. Penn State is favored. Huskies bowed up in the red zone to beat USC. Penn State failed multiple times in the red zone against Ohio State. Ari, I don't, I think Penn State's gonna win this game, but I think that's too many points. So I'm gonna take Washington to cover here. Yeah, I think I like Washington too

Starting point is 01:03:52 because Penn State is probably gonna be a little sad. Beaten up too. Yeah. Beaten up. I think it's gonna, it's a whiteout. I don't know if a whiteout is gonna have as much juice as it otherwise would have had at one last week. I think Penn State's a much better football team than Washington, but two touchdowns a week after

Starting point is 01:04:12 what they just went through is kind of a lot. So my hope for Penn State is that they get there and they cover. And, you know, this team is still very much alive in every aspect of this race too, right? So yeah, you know, also race too. Right? So, you know, talk great over the weekend. I'm also interested in seeing like a four, you know, you've got Steve Belichick running the defense at Washington and the guys who've done this job in the NFL,

Starting point is 01:04:35 I feel like have an advantage when they play one dimensional offenses and Penn State is a one dimensional offense. Well, the dimension they can have in their passing game is Tyler Warren, but you're not scared of anybody else. So I can, I can see him designing a good game plan. I just can't see Washington. Putting up enough points against his defense for that to matter.

Starting point is 01:04:58 Yeah. Uh, and you're also looking at a 45 and a half total here, uh, which means this games is probably gonna be playing in the 20s and the teens. So I don't know that Penn State has to put up 30 points to get there, but also too, it's hard to cover a 13 and a half point spread if the total we anticipate will be less than 45 and a half.

Starting point is 01:05:22 Yeah, yeah. So, all right, well, I'm both in agreement on that one. Let's go to another really weird one. In the big 12, not a three and a half point spread, shockingly, but it's still a pretty shocking number. And it speaks to the bitterness of this particular rivalry. You know, we talk about nasty rivalries, Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, Auburn.

Starting point is 01:05:44 I think the Egg Bowl, Oleries, Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, Auburn. I think the the egg bowl almost Mississippi State is one of the most just heated, hatred filled rivalries. This one right here, BYU Utah, may be the most bitter rivalry in the whole country. They freaking hate one another. Hate. BYU is undefeated. Utah is having its worst season in more than 20 years and BYU is only a 4 1

Starting point is 01:06:10 1,5 point favorite in this game. What's gone well for Utah this year? Nothing. So are you a throw the records out guy on this? I wouldn't have said that and then I watched Florida Georgia being a tie game in the fourth quarter last week and but hell anything can happen in robbery. So listen, I don't think it matters whether it's Isaac Wilson or Brandon Rose at quarterback for Utah.

Starting point is 01:06:42 I think I think BYU is just too much Like I think BYU is going to score enough. And also you've seen their defense be opportunistic. Like the reason they killed Kansas state the way they did is they go to David Johnson and the interceptions that, that allowed them to set up easy scores. So I think BYU significantly better. Yeah. I'm taking BYU here. Love that this game is going to be playing while we're live on Saturday night.

Starting point is 01:07:06 I don't think the game kicks off until like 9 15 Eastern. Yeah, 10 15 Eastern. So, um, yeah, I'm with you on BYU. I just don't know if Utah has it in them this year. And you know, with the way that I picked the Texas Oklahoma game that I don't buy into the, throw the records out. I know that this game can be wonky. It's always kind of a strange situation,

Starting point is 01:07:25 but like as BYU remove the helmets, remove all the other stuff and just look at the teams. Four and a half points better than Utah. Yeah, they are. I think so too. All right, let us move to the two giant games in the SEC. The first one is an afternoon affair in Oxford, Mississippi, Georgia at Ole Miss, Georgia's two and a half point favorite on the road.

Starting point is 01:07:51 Ari, my trouble picking this game is not knowing which version of either team is going to show up because the Ole Miss team that played against Arkansas, despite not having Trey Harris or Caden Priest corn was awesome was the Ole Miss team. We thought we'd see all season. Operate like the defense created the first touchdown. The offense took it the rest of the way. Like if Trey Harris is back healthy and they're playing the

Starting point is 01:08:14 way they played in that game, they're going to be really tough to beat at home. No matter how well Georgia plays. Meanwhile, we saw George against South against Florida looking very shaky. We also saw Georgia against Texas two weeks before that looking like the national champions. I don't know. I don't know who's showing up here. I don't know who's showing up here either. What's Lane Kiffin's biggest win at Ole Miss? Nothing that you could speak of.

Starting point is 01:08:46 Compared to this game. Right? And remember this roster was assembled not because well, they did want to make the playoff but specifically assembled to win this game. To beef them up on the lines of scrimmage so they could compete with Georgia. Like if you watched the Ole Miss Georgia game

Starting point is 01:09:06 last year in Athens, now granted it was the healthiest Georgia was all season, but Ole Miss looked competitive for about a quarter, and then Georgia absolutely steamrolled them for three quarters. That's what we're talking about here. Lane Kiffin has never won one of these games. Does he get off the Schneid here Ari?

Starting point is 01:09:28 I'm not going to pick it. No, I'm not going to do that. I'm going to pick Georgia to to win this game by three. I think that they could do that. I just don't know if I can if I can get myself there. Like I think that this is what they paid for. They paid to win this game. Actually going out and doing it is a completely different scenario. Georgia also played a clunker last week. So the odds of them doing it back to back weeks are probably lower. If you respect what Kirby smarts all about and I obviously do and the world should. I just don't see it.

Starting point is 01:10:02 And I think that there's a way that you could talk yourself into Ole Miss as a great offense. They figured out how to throw to somebody that wasn't Trey Harris last week, and they might be getting Trey Harris back. Their lines are very good. Defensive line interior could cause some issues. Carson Beck has been throwing picks. Like, there was a path there. Like, you can actually come up with a path. But do you think that path is going to be traveled down? Um, and I just mentioned Carson Beck. So here's where I'm going to devil's advocates. You are. Because we talked about Carson Beck and the Lambo and the Tik TOKs. We saw him against Florida and when there was pressure, he made some very bad choices against Texas.

Starting point is 01:10:47 When there was pressure, he made some very bad choices with the ball, much like getting a Lamborghini SUV when you could just get a real Lamborghini bad choices. He's going to get pressured this week. George's offensive line, even if they're if they were completely healthy and playing their best game, Ole Miss would still get some pressure because that's how good their D line is. He's going to throw into coverage. And that's what scares me.

Starting point is 01:11:22 I want to go, I want to go. I know. But then what do you like? What do you do? Because then immediately after this one ends, the one in Baton Rouge starts. Starting point is 01:12:29 No, I've never seen that. She was trying to buy tickets on American and the tickets, I think on American for the entire group, we're going to total like $4,500 round trip. And so she's like, well, that's outrageous. So she's talking to the private jet guy. Uh, we wanted to see if we could get a better deal with you. And so, yeah, just, you know, whatever your most economical option is.

Starting point is 01:12:51 And he's like, okay, that'll be $84,000. JSX is a very nice experience. This isn't, we're not sponsored by an airline. But we wanna be. But we want to be. But we want to be. I flew JSX once. I don't know if you've ever, do you even know what that is? Yes, it is a kind of private experience,

Starting point is 01:13:13 but at a more commuter type price. I flew JSX home from Vegas once and my flight left at 11 a.m. Cause I refused to do early flights out of McCarran. I think that's the worst of a human experience like going to Vegas's airport at six in the morning after being in Vegas for three days. The flight left at 11, I got there at 10.40.

Starting point is 01:13:37 You, like, there's no, like the security is very, very quick. There's no terminal, there's nothing like that. And then you just get on the airplane. Like you, and there's only like 15 or 20 people on the plane and then it flies you home. And then wifi is great, elite level snacks, JSX would be great. But you still have to get to a JSX terminal.

Starting point is 01:14:02 Go ahead and read that. You wanna read that? Oh yeah, Wolfie Gator says I love how Ari thinks it was about UGA playing bad and not that you have is possibly halfway decent. Yes, Beck made some bad throws, but you have to play fairly good in the trenches. They did, but we also have a history of Kirby Smart Georgia teams in games that they're not, they don't really need or they're they're significantly more talented where it's just like, eh. And then when they need it in another game, they're they're significantly more talented where it's just like,

Starting point is 01:14:29 and then when they need it in another game, they're a completely different team. We've seen this. We've seen this movie before. That's why Ari's picking Georgia cover. And that's why I'm picking Georgia to cover because until Lane proves he can win one of these, I don't believe it. But I've seen Kirby do this. I've seen Kirby have a game where they kind of fart around and it looks like they didn't take it that seriously because they didn't need it. And then they play a game they absolutely need and they come out looking like the 85 Bears. So that's where I'm at on this one until Lane can prove me wrong. I'm riding with Kirby. How is late to give me Georgia and Georgia plus or Georgia minus three and a half.

Starting point is 01:15:09 Do you do it? Lane? Kevin has managed to like get out of the James Franklin ish tight hell from people or he's he's that he feel that way about him. He's actually not been dipped in it as far as he probably should have been. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. But he will after this game, if they lose, he needs to win this game or he is squarely in the James Franklin zone. Like we got the friend zone,

Starting point is 01:15:33 the James Franklin zone is the friend zone of coaching. Yeah. Yeah. Is Ryan Day still in the James Franklin zone? He is, right? He's in the James Franklin zone for sure. We should do a column of all the coaches in the James Franklin zone. That'd be funny.

Starting point is 01:15:47 Okay. What's the next, uh, the next game? Oh, you know what it is. Ari, let's go to back Paul Ruse. Let's go to the red stick. Alabama at LSU, Alabama is a two and a half point favorite. This is not like, I don't feel like this is a case of, I don't know which team's going to show up.

Starting point is 01:16:03 I actually don't know what Alabama and LSU are. I think that's my biggest problem here. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, I picked Alabama in my bracket and you did too, right? Yes. I don't feel comfortable with that. Nope.

Starting point is 01:16:24 That's just the best. That's doing it based on the spread of the game. But you know, LSU really disappointed me in the A&M game. Like I cannot get the way that they played in the second half of that game out of my head. That said, Alabama very much disappointed me in the Tennessee game. Like I don't know that either of these teams, the first thing I think about is awesomeness when I think about them. I think about a team that has talent, a team that, you know, has the ability of everything clicks to play high level football against very good opponents.

Starting point is 01:17:03 But I also don't feel confident that either of them will do it. Like Alabama went on the road to Tennessee and they played a terrible game. Like, why is this any different? This is gonna be another environment like that. This one's gonna be at night, the one at Tennessee wasn't even at night.

Starting point is 01:17:22 Well, Ryan Haley, you know, pounds his fist against the table and saying we have games that we were going to put away and that we just can't put it away. And that scares the shit out of me. Well here's, here's the other thing. Jalen Miller was a hell of a lot better version of Marcel Reed. Yeah. A lot better. But, but a week earlier when LSU knew they were playing Taylor Green, who is a really

Starting point is 01:17:48 good mobile quarterback with a good arm, they shut him down. And Garrett Nussmeyer, you would say is better than Nico right now, right? Like at this moment? Yes. So I don't know if, uh, can LSU run on Bama? I think is a question. We saw Andy run on Bama. This is the game that the video is titled after, right?

Starting point is 01:18:15 Like this is a playoff game. Elimination. The loser is out. The loser is out. So in the, in the winter is frankly in at the moment. So this is very difficult for me, Andy. I want you to go first. You're the, you live closer to these teams.

Starting point is 01:18:32 I don't have a lot of confidence in this pick. I'm taking Alabama and I'm taking Alabama. I'm not even the money line. That it's a, it's a cover. It's a, it's a two and a half point spread. I'm taking Alabama to cover. I'm just guessing here. I don't want to be perfectly honest with you.

Starting point is 01:18:50 I am guessing because I do not know what these teams are. Like the LSU team that lost to Texas A&M will lose to Alabama. But the Alabama team that we saw at Tennessee is probably not gonna win at Night in Tiger Stadium. So do we get the Alabama team that we saw at Tennessee is probably not going to win at night in Tiger stadium. So do we get the Alabama team that played Georgia? Like is that team ever going to come back?

Starting point is 01:19:12 Maybe yeah, the Alabama offense is a step further along the Texas A&M offense, right? Although I think you might make a case that A&M has better running backs. That said, LSU had to defend the Texas A&M offense and they were caught off guard by it for some reason, but they were caught off guard by it. Like they are been preparing for Milro. So they won't be caught off guard for them. been preparing for Milro. So they won't be caught off guard for them. I just think that Alabama it's just maybe it's just muscle memory. But my gut has said that Alabama is going to win this game from the beginning and I'm not going to veer off of it now. But again,

Starting point is 01:19:56 like you kind of guessing. Let's give Steve from San Antonio some advice. He's going to the game on Saturday. Says, what do we need to do pregame? Well, you need to go all just walk all around Tiger Stadium because the LSU fans are some of those friendly in the country unless you are the opposing fan base. But even if you are the opposing fan base, they're probably still going to hand you a daiquiri because they do love a good party. Go to the Indian Mounds.

Starting point is 01:20:23 You can look up a map of LSU's campus to see where that is. Go visit my guy, Zach Rowe at DVA tailgating, and he'll show you what a real tailgate should look like. He's one of the best tailgaters in the country, and so you can check that one out. And then next door to them are all these LSU law school grads that throw maybe the best party of any tailgate you will ever see that should probably this is a big game.

Starting point is 01:20:48 So they'll have the stripper pole and the ice luge out. Like if you actually want to see what tailgating is, those two tailgates that are right next door to each other are the best representation of tailgating in American sports. LSU has the best tailgating in football. I would argue the best tailgating of any team in the country in any sport. And I realized Kansas City Chiefs fans are like, what about us?

Starting point is 01:21:15 You don't even come close. You're not even in the same universe. Ole Miss fans, what about us? We put chandeliers on our tents. Not even in the same, Nobody comes close to LSU. This is the best tailgating scene in the world. Please go enjoy it. I need to see it one day.

Starting point is 01:21:35 We can make that happen. Please, we can make that happen. Yeah. That's my bucket list right now. Like in terms of, I've been to just about every iconic stadium in the country now. Never been to Tiger Stadium for a night game. It's it's spectacular, absolutely spectacular.

Starting point is 01:21:51 And look, even if you decide not to go into the stadium for the game. It's spectacular. That's how good the party is. Yeah, yeah. Got it. I got to make that happen.
