Hey Andy, it's Dave DeCiani, Goose's manager.
I got the interview with Rick and Peter all lined up for you.
Just give me a call back and we'll find some time to do it next week.
Let's not accuse them of being narcs or talk about Burt Reynolds' mustache.
Is there anything like that from the first episode?
Just try to keep it focused on the music.
They have a new record out.
Thanks, man.
I'll talk to you soon.
Yo, Frasco.
What's going on?
This is Coach, Guzzi's director and stage manager.
What the fuck did you do, man?
I just got off the phone with the boys.
Rick's pissed off.
Peter's in the corner crying.
Trev's doing bicep curls.
Spud's just throwing potatoes at the wall,
and Jeff has gone full-on Bruce Wayne. These dudes are heated, bro. Give me a call back,
man. What the hell did you do?
All right, and we're back. Andy Frasca's World Saving Podcast.
I'm Andy Frasca.
How's everyone doing?
How's our heads?
How's our minds?
Is it Floyd Festival installation?
Is it installation or installment?
Whatever, same thing.
Of the World Saving Podcast.
I just got back from Floyd, and oh, man, that was a fucking blast.
You know, I normally, the last seven, last seven I don't know last like six summers I haven't been able to like hang out at festival
because we always just do that one show and then we continue our tour you know
because we're psychopaths and we you know confirmed 200 plus years that we can't have time to hang out. But the last couple fests,
Peach Fest I hung out for the weekend,
Floyd Fest I hung out for the weekend,
and it was a blast.
Shout out to fucking Floyd Fest. Let's go, boys
and girls. That was an experience.
It was
in the mountains.
Our hotel was an hour away, and
they drove
us from the hotel you know port
shout out to the driving squad at floyd fest too my boys jake jason the other homie who let me smoke
weed um yeah you know so you get to know all the staff and stuff and you know and i'm the type of
dude who's not gonna sit backstage i'm gonna get in the crowd you know smash some beers watch all the bands um play but it was a great experience it was in the
mountains of floyd virginia and um no cell service i wasn't on my phone i was just living at the
festival for the for the weekend and i had a blast um didn't know what to expect i knew it was going
to be uh everyone says family. This is
a family, you know, family festival. I thought when they said family, I thought, you know, kids
and stuff. And there was kids, but they're talking about like the actual roots and how everyone comes
together. And they've been doing this for what, 20 years, 15 years. I couldn't remember what they
said, but, um, it really is like a family. And I was walking
around, people like, Frasco, come to our RV and take some mushrooms or whatever. Or yo, yo,
let's slam some beers and whatnot. That was a good time. Also, I didn't do Coke. Let's go.
Frasco. Let's go, Frasco. No Coke for the Fraski. Because, you know, I'm not, you know, I have control, guys.
You know, don't think, you know, he's like, oh, fuck.
He's been on that coke.
Here he comes.
But no, I have self-control.
And there wasn't any coke in my body.
I did have these weird hours where, like, I, because our first show,
our first set, we started at two and
ended about like three and our second set was a rain out so we had they just an hour late on the
set so we played at like one o'clock until and then they're they're like you gotta get off i'm
like we're gonna keep going this is we closed out the whole festival and we had a 4
a.m flight and um so we played until about 2 30. it took me an hour it took us an hour and a half
to get to the airport so i'm just like coming that coming to the air i that's the worst thing
when you go to the airport and you're high as hell like Like high. I was on super mushrooms, like strong ass mushrooms.
I was like, we're raging.
I started eating everything,
like mushrooms and just fucking eating
so many fucking mushrooms at that set.
Shout out to everyone who put up with me.
All the stage hands putting up with my high ass
at the floor.
Some fucking spraying popcorn on everyone.
It was the end of the fest, you know?
Like, you know, if I'm in a festival
and it's the last day, the last set,
and, you know, I want, you know,
if you want my band to play,
I'm going to give you the freak out,
the six years ago Frasco set.
Especially after the second,
if I play twice at a festival,
the first show is really
serious we had like turquoise it wasn't really serious but we had all our friends and we like
structured it we had turquoise and taylor scott from denver shout to him he's a great guitar
player and shira sang dancing around my graves with us uh she sang kanika's part um which i'll
talk about the single and then the fucking reaction
y'all have been giving me is, I'm really, we'll talk about that in a second, but, um, so the second
set, we're like, oh, fuck, we're gonna loosen up, and, uh, oh, we sure did, I was getting thrown,
people were throwing broccoli at me, and, uh, we're just like, I was like eating everyone's
mushrooms and shit, and, um, it was just a lot of fun.
And Virginia has some sweet people and the bands that played.
And I can't say enough about Floyd Fest,
but it was about 3 o'clock in the morning,
and I was high as shit,
and I knew I'm about to go into this sterile-ass airport
in Roanoke, Virginia.
My eyeballs are bulging out of my head.
And, you know, I'm already afraid of flights.
And I haven't slept in a while,
so I'm, like, kind of having anxiety about this flight.
It's across the country and turbulence.
And I think the flight attendant knew I was, like, at the Floyd Fest,
or maybe she knew me or something.
And she hooked me up with, like, a and shout out to Mary Karen Lonson.
Hell yeah.
Take care of the fucking drunk and the drugs.
My boy.
You know, I was like, I'm good, I'm good, I'm good.
And it's funny how the universe hooks you up when you don't force a hookup. you know, it's like when you don't force anything,
and you just go with the flow, I was just high as fuck, wearing my glasses, it was like,
you know, then the flight, and it was just bright, and just, I'm smiling, watching some, like, Pixar
movie, then I was like, whoa, this guy is high as fuck, but it was good. Got back to Denver, slept my ass off all week. And then back at it. We had
the shows in Colorado, Steamboat Springs, which was fucking badass. Shout out to Steamboat Springs.
That was dope. Sold out. Let's go. My people, Schmegaties. Shout out to Schmegaties. Then I
did a wedding for my buddy and we backed up Mix Master Mike from the
Beastie Boys. We backed up the Beastie Boys at this way. I was telling you, I wanted to wait
to tell you, but it was surreal, surreal, surreal. And it was awesome. Got to hang with him and
Park City. And I'm not going to blow the cover of whose wedding it was, but it was a blast.
And I love you very much. You know who you are.
Thank you for always supporting me
and thank you for putting me in situations
that are dream situations.
So we got to do that in Park City.
Felt like be part of the Beastie Boys, which was dope.
And then we did Fro Fest in Salt Lake City.
Let's go.
All my Mormons out there, thanks for wearing Afros.
Shout out to y'all.
You get in for free if you wore an afro
and there was like 5,000 or 6,000 people.
It was insane. Thank you so much.
That was a fucking blast. Chris Lager.
Always great playing with Chris.
I interviewed him
last week or two weeks ago. We're putting him
on the podcast for the month of August
because he was the original
songwriter. He was the first guy who really taught me
how to write songs.
My song, Sunny Day Soldier is actually a Chris Logger song. If y'all didn't know, Hot Tank fucking going deep in the archives with that. So I want, I wanted you to know his
story as a, cause he's a really amazing songwriter and you know, we've, he's known me when I was
hopped up on Coke and fucking everything. And you know, so he's got some stories.
He was scared of me.
His fans were like, don't.
Frasco is the devil.
Because he was like, you know, this nice little boy from Nebraska.
Well, he's older than me, but a nice man from Nebraska.
And he's like, don't be hanging around that Frasco kid.
He'll ruin you, Chris.
Well, we're still at it.
Shout out to Chris.
Friendship.
Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's ruin you, Chris. Well, we're still at it. Shout out to Chris. Friendship. Let's go.
Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Hell yeah. Yeah. So FroFest was dope. And I got three more dates
on this tour if you're listening to this. Victor, Idaho on the 4th. Sam in Idaho on the 5th. There's
still some tickets left for that. Ketchum, Idaho on the 6th and 7th. I haven't
been to Ketchum in a couple years. Let's go. I think we're almost sold out on the second show
on the 7th at Whiskey Jacks. The 6th isn't. I just realized there's Sawtooth Festival
in town, like a town before. So if you guys want to go to that, go during the day and then
let us be your after party. Head out to Ketchum them it's only 10 miles if you're going to that fest in stanley idaho
and then i am home for two weeks let's fucking go i am excited we were supposed to do this fish
after party in atlantic city i'm like i can't do that i was gonna fly to atlantic city on the 14th
i'm like know what frasco chill out hang out in Denver, go to a lake, so I'm gonna go to a lake
and fuck shit up
and you don't have to work all the time.
You know, you don't have to play shows
all the time, you know, that's the beauty
of Repsy. Hey, look at
that transition, Repsy!
They'll give you shows and you could say,
hey, do you want to play this or not?
They're not gonna pressure you into playing the show
and you don't have to play this or not? They're not going to pressure you into playing the show.
And you don't have to play them. But
ladies and gentlemen, if you're in a band,
I tell this every week, but you got to
I know a lot of bands listen to this.
People, come on, bandmates.
You want to get
how do you, what's the best way
of getting your band,
the camaraderie of your band together?
By getting together together having band practice
or playing shows even if it's in a a town that's six hours and they're only paying you a
little bit of money get your band out there and get that camaraderie going because you're gonna
wait and wait and realize oh my bass player just got married or my drummer, someone's poaching my drummer
and now he wants, I might lose my drummer to another band.
All that stuff will happen unless you stay busy
and stay, whoever the band leader is in your band,
keep that shit going.
It's like being married to five, four, whatever, seven,
if you have seven fucking people, like Turquoise.
Turquoise has so many, shout out to Turquoise.
So many people in that fucking band,
and they added like rock stars, Jerry Harrison and Adrian Blue,
but you got to keep that camaraderie.
That's why there's perfect, that's why Repsy.com,
if you don't have a booking agent put your band's profile
on repsy it doesn't hurt they will try to get you gigs a lot of buyers go on that website a lot of
festival bookers and a lot of bar venues a lot and fraternities i'm telling you fraternities are a
good way to make money so So they'll book your band.
You sign up. If you have a booking agent,
they take the percentage of what they're normally giving
to off because they love
agencies. They want to work together with agencies.
And if you don't have a booking agent, they take a little percentage.
It's a win-win.
So sign up your band to Repsy.com.
I wish I had it.
I'm telling you, when I was 19,
20, 21, I wish I had a company like Repsy.com. I wish I had it. I'm telling you, when I was 19, 20, 21, I wish I had a company
like Repsy. So shout out to Repsy. Let's go. My people, support the podcast. I'm here to support
you too. Let's go. But yeah, Colorado dates have been fun. Single, holy shit, y'all. This is the
most downloads I've ever had on a single in the first week, ever
I just want to say thank you
So much, I've been getting all your messages
I'm trying to message y'all back
You guys are telling me stories about
How you guys are dealing with death
And how
How this song is helping you deal with death
And you know, as a songwriter
You know, all jokes aside
I know I'm a
Some people call me whatever they call me,
the clown or whatever some publishing companies
or notable people who write,
journalists call me a clown and whatever.
Sometimes I take that offensively.
People who call me a clown, it's like they only are reading the first cover of the book. clown and whatever. And you know, sometimes I take that offensively. Like, people call
me clown. It's like, they only are reading the first cover of the book. You know, like
with this song, I'm really proud that I didn't have to do that. And people are showing up
for not just my stage antics, but my words and stuff. And for you guys to talk about
your deaths with me and talk about how the song's helping you be okay with death.
I love you.
We worked our ass off on the music video.
I directed it.
My first directorial music video.
Let's go.
I'm going to shout out to you.
I never know what I'm doing with that shit.
When you make a music video, you're like,
when you make a music video, you're like, oh, fuck.
You know, you have this idea in your head like, yeah, yeah, we're going to do my funeral.
So we're not making fun of anyone dying or me like being at someone's funeral.
I don't, you know, it's like I'm just going to, we're going to point this at me, death.
The idea of death, we're going to theme it on me.
That's fine.
I'll be escaping.
I don't want
to die, people are like, are you okay, Frasca, you're going to, you're like, you're talking about, like,
killing yourself, I'm like, no, no, I want the idea of death, to talk, I want to talk about the idea of
death, but I can't, I think it's a cane of horror to, you know, push it on anyone else, like someone's
mother, or grandfather, or whatever, in a music, I'm like, fuck it, just put it on me, I'll take the heat,
mother or grandfather or whatever in a music video. I'm like, fuck it, just put it on me.
I'll take the heat. And I just really wanted to focus on the idea of celebrating the moment that we have now. Not worrying about tomorrow, I'll hang out with someone tomorrow or I'll call someone
tomorrow or man, all those great memories in the past. Let's focus on trying to find the best memories we can right now
with the people we love
and stop spending your fucking time on people who are shitty at you.
Do I have to play the music?
Stop spending your energy on people who don't give a fuck about you.
Seriously.
You're going to wake up one day.
Come on.
I'll play the music.
You're going to wake up one day. Come on. I'll play the music. You're going to wake up one day and realize, damn, I spent too much time on this person, this guy or girl.
I got to turn that music off. This guy or girl, I put too much energy in and they don't give a
fuck about me. Take a step back and say, shoe devil, get that motherfucker out of your life. You don't need him. You don't need him.
Spend your time
with the people that make you
happy, that
make you laugh, make you
cry, make you think. Not the people
who make you feel
angry about yourself or insecure
about yourself. Fuck those people.
I know maybe you live in a small town. There's not a lot of
friends out there. That's why we got the internet. Let's find some fucking friends. Let's go guys.
We're finding friends. This is the year. Summer's over, but I always say no new friends club, but
you know, if your friends suck, then find some new friends. I don't know. Um, but seriously,
we're going to look back at this shit and realize that, damn, that fucking flew by.
I see my mom.
I'm stoked right now for my mom
because she has leukemia right now,
and it's a fucking scary time.
I mean, people who have cancer
start thinking about everything.
And for my mom to find new hobbies
through this scary time like she's into crystals
right now i'm like hell yeah la mom getting hippie on me let's go mom shout out to my mom
fuck yeah mom talking to psychics and shit i'm like hell yeah i love that shit i'm like
you know that's what i fell in love with the jams because they're all fucking hippies you know i
wasn't really into the music in the beginning, but I love the community. Everyone's like with the crystals and whatnot. And Oh, speaking of that, we have plasma.
I think I'm getting that girl who pees and drinks her pee. I'm gonna get her on an episode. Maybe
it's on this episode if it's, if I get, if I have enough time, but, uh, maybe she'll be the co-host
for this girl has been everywhere. She's her pee this uh this uh sweet girl i
forgot her name but we everyone called her plasma princess and i fucking love the community here so
back to my mom so she's finding all these new things about herself that she's enjoying i'm like
damn fuck yeah even if it takes you to 70 she's i think yeah she, yeah, she's 70. She's almost 70. She's 69. Hell yeah. Um, so even if
it takes you to 70 to find out what you want, stop hanging out with people who fucking get you down,
find your fucking gang, your posse. And, um, even if it takes a lifetime, like Jason Isbell says,
so whatever it takes, be there for yourself. Give yourself
that fucking extra comfort because you're worth it too. No one tells you that. I'll tell you,
right? I'll put the music back on. You're fucking worth it. You deserve happiness too. Everyone,
you can make everyone else happy. You can make everyone enjoy to have a ball with you, but God damn it, you deserve
happiness too. So get out there and be happy too. Even if you got to find new friends, if you got
to find a new lover, you got to find new relationship. If your relationship sucks,
fucking get out of it. You don't want to wake up after 40 years with someone. This is my fear.
Like this is why I don't have relationships.
Because I don't want to wake up one day and I'm like, damn, I hate this person.
So if you wake up one day like that, get out of the situation.
You're never stuck.
I know you might have baggage or maybe your backpack's heavier now.
Maybe you've got kids, a house, a fucking job.
Maybe the husband is your boss.
Whatever it is.
You can always get out of situations.
Just gotta trust yourself.
I know change is fucking weird
and uncomfortable.
But if you take a step back,
realize I'm in control of this motherfucker.
Not you Johnny
fucking
Johnny husband or Karen
wife.
You know what I'm saying?
Does that make sense?
I hope it does
because I'm ranting.
I'm just yelling in my kitchen right now.
But it's true.
Take a step back.
Realize you're in control of your life
and everyone else who gives you opinions
and voices opinions
are just,
it's not the say-all everything.
You know, like maybe like you listen to your mom or dad too much on all their advice.
And maybe they're fucking wrong.
I mean, they're human.
I mean, not all their advices are going to be right.
So if you don't feel like,
hey, that advice doesn't work for me anymore,
you're a grown-ass man, you're a grown-ass woman.
Tell them, you know what?
I respect that that's how you think about life.
That's not how I think about life.
Find ways to be comfortable in the now, right now.
And that's what that song was all about.
No, I'm not trying to commit suicide
or I have some illness illness knock on wood i
hope i don't have any illness you know i always have these stomach problems now but my mom says
it's it's called jewish gut where i just i'm a worrier so all that worry ends up going to your
gut so and probably the cheese steaks and the cigarettes and the jameson just chugging big
gulps of jameson probably my stomach line is probably done
so i might have to figure that out eventually but for now live in the moment i'm enjoying myself and
that's why i wrote that song dancing around my grave keep keep uh sending it out tell your radio
stations we've already have like 10 radio stations playing it first week, which is very good for me.
I'm not, you know, being in the jam scene,
you're not really in the radio scene.
So I've been just, this has been amazing,
the reaction to this song.
So thank you.
Shout out to all the fans.
Let's go.
My people.
Showing us the Frasco love.
All right.
So we have Goose back on the show.
Round two with Goose.
You know, when I first had my interview,
I didn't know who they were.
I thought they were some, you know, just some dudes.
You know, my boy Dave DeCiani manages them.
He's like one of my best buds.
Speaking of that, I got to hit up Dave.
I keep hitting him up.
He's been so busy.
Goose is just fucking on a tear,
and pigeons are fucking killing it,
and kitchen dwellers.
I mean, he's doing great.
Shout out to Dave DeCione one more time.
Let's go, Dave.
You're doing great, buddy.
If no one tells you that enough,
I'm going to fucking tell you.
You're doing a great job with all these bands.
All your bands are blowing up.
I'm happy for you.
So I did round two with Goose.
I was on... It's like when I So I did round two with Goose. You know, I was on, you know, it's like when I, you know,
I did that interview maybe two years ago before I was in therapy and listening.
I was just, caught me on the wrong time.
I was hungover.
It was like a sound check before we were playing in Connecticut or some shit.
I forgot where it was, but they rolled in.
And we just got heavy real quick.
So this is the redemption interview
because I'm really proud of them.
They've been working their ass off.
Being a buzz band is
you know, there's a lot
of great things you see but it's also
fucking hard on you mentally.
Like think about it. If you're going from
500 people
and then a quarantine and all of a sudden you wake up
you're selling 10,000 tickets
you know it's a lot of pressure so for them to take that pressure on the chin and say no I
fuck this I'm gonna fuck shit up um I'm proud of them so shout out to Goose and uh you know what
shout out to Goose and uh shout out to the homie that just hangs out with us. I need a dude.
I guess Dola is my coach.
They got a guy named Coach who is fucking awesome.
I ate some weed edibles with him, and he loves the Mets.
I'm going to get him on the podcast too.
I think I need to get him a sports segment because he's funny as fuck
and very smart.
That whole band, how they run their business is
very smart i think you're gonna really enjoy this interview so ladies and gentlemen we're gonna have
a good week we're gonna have a great fucking week i hope so because this is your chance
to live in the moment everything else doesn't matter besides right fucking now so is it your
turn or is it their turn i hope hope to God it's your turn.
So we're going to have a great week. So ladies and gentlemen, please enjoy Goose. And thank you so
much for listening to me rant. I'm pumped up because things are going so well with the band.
Things are going so well with the podcast. And I got some exciting news about the shit show.
I can't talk about it yet,
but cross your fingers because if this happens, holy shit, this is going to be, it's a big move.
It's a big, it's big, and it's a big move. So cross your fingers for me if you do that kind
of stuff. All right. I love you. Be safe and I'll catch you on the tail.
I love you.
Be safe.
And I'll catch you on the tail.
All right.
Next up on the interview hour, we got Rick and Peter from Goose.
Yo, Chris, play some Goose.
This band's the biggest band in our scene right now.
You know, don't sleep on them.
I got to hang out with them at Floyd Fest.
Great guys.
Great, great guys.
And I feel like they're frightened of me or something.
Like I'm going to like chastise them on the podcast.
But I do really like them.
You know, it's like, you know, I'm not, sometimes I'm not really into a lot of the jam music and stuff. But these guys sing great.
Good songwriters most importantly
what i love that people they're hard workers they're working their ass off you know it's a
lot of pressure to change sets and write new songs especially in the fan base you know when a lot of
their fans are fish fans who expect a new fucking show every single second every everything has to be new
everything and for them to like take that on the chin so you know we'll do that is fucking honorable
and uh i'm i'm for it so i'm team goose as well so ladies and gentlemen please enjoy round two
with rick and peter On the floor, you know that I'm coming back for more.
Take it slow, I'm burning, breathing, I know.
Hey guys, round two.
Hello.
How's it going?
Nothing but fastballs this time, right?
Nothing but fastballs.
So, how's the music been?
How's tour? How's tour?
How's tour going?
We're playing it and it's touring.
It's got to be surreal right now, right?
It's good.
Yeah.
Things are good.
I like to think about like,
where it was two years ago.
And then you had a pandemic.
Was that the last time we talked?
Two years ago?
Yeah.
Two years ago.
And then we had a pandemic
and all of a sudden bam 10 000 tickets fucking sculpture park let's fucking go dude that's what
i'm talking about though like it's is there pressure sure what what what what kind of pressure
uh well i mean in terms of the music it it does feel like we're kind of i mean i feel like i'm
i'm still going up there playing the same stuff and you know you know and it feels like hey we're kind of I mean I feel like I'm still going up there playing the same stuff and you know it feels like hey we're just kind of doing our thing
like we usually do and and in terms of that it's it's the same and that makes
me laugh sometimes when I'm on stage honestly yeah I'm just like this is
hilarious like look at all these people and you know I think like just a year
ago I was playing this song to like nobody you know so it's so surreal like yeah what about you rick what's going on yeah same same process you know
for a minute there was kind of like oh like we sold those that many tickets like what do we
you know like jeff do a backflip you know like but like no ultimately it's just you know we just
keep we're just gonna keep doing what we do and try to get better at it best we can ultimately you know we just keep we just gotta keep doing what we do
and try to get better
at it best we can
and you know
whatever
what about the stress
of everyone's watching
your every step right now
is that stressful
are they
you just gotta change it up
or is it
were you like
you guys are prepped
to change it up
like this every day
you've been doing that
for years
I'm new
I'm new to this
to how your process
is of how you
like construct your business.
Yeah, I mean, part of that's natural.
I think it's just a game of trying to avoid the head trip.
Because, yeah, maybe people are watching our every step, maybe they're not.
I have no idea.
But it's mostly, it's all like, do I think that they're...
If I'm getting paranoid about people watching our every step, then
like, that's like, that's stupid.
Yeah.
You know?
So like, you know, it's just a, uh, kind of a lot of effort of, of trying to not think
about this stuff.
Yeah.
The best we can.
Is it hard to like, not distract yourself with that stuff?
At times, for sure.
Yeah. I mean, it's, it yeah i mean it's it's a lot of
it's a lot of noise for sure you know it's like it's a lot of things that are a lot of things
other than just writing songs and playing music and improvising and whatever you know that we
have been doing for a while and now there's just there's yeah there's a lot of moving moving parts
a lot of uh you know scenery that is different now.
It's hard to not
let that
move perspective too much.
I don't know.
It helps to stay busy.
For me, if I have enough stuff to do
when I'm off the road, and when I'm on the road
I'm so focused.
As long as I'm staying focused on
what I have to do
and like being productive
and doing what I've always done
you know
like making music
and I don't have time
to think about that stuff
and it's
it's great
like it doesn't really bother me
in those moments
are you guys like
hyper focused people
like
when it comes to like
you are focused on music
and like this is your thing
I was
talking to Dave
like you guys were in the studio like smashed out 30 songs or whatever it's just like all this shit like what
the fuck like you gotta be hyper focused like how is do you feel like you have a vessel coming out
of you right now does that make any sense what do you mean by that like a vessel like when you're
in the creative process i don't know vince herman colonel bruise called the vest yeah yeah yeah
where you just like i just want to make sure you met what I thought you meant okay yeah
how y'all feeling creatively you know sometimes it's like I don't like I don't
know I fit sometimes it seems like not qualified to say whether that's happened
that's the case or not you know we're just we're just kind of like you know
ideas occur me like where do they come from I don't know they come from somewhere yeah i got i'm not like they don't they didn't come out of i don't know they
came from somewhere so like they just happen and you just try to like be ready for them the best
you can and we're just trying to like you know keep up with what's going on which is you know
not always easy on a personal level but like you know it's it's a lot of cool
a lot of fun stuff happening
you know
you talk about
it's not easy
on a personal level
what's hard about
what you can't see
on your personal level
here we go
let me know
just ring the bell
hi guys
I can
I can leave
whenever we need
but like I I don't know I travel a lot too so I'm just like I just feel I can leave whenever we need. You're not just.
But like, I don't know.
I travel a lot too.
So I'm just like, I just feel sympathetic for that part of life.
Because we don't have, as we get more successful,
our personal time gets little and little and little. So we have to take advantage of being present with that moment, right?
Right.
Dude, balancing is tough.
Dude, it is.
That's what I'm saying.
It's tough, but when you get it going,
your life just becomes way more meaningful and fun.
So how do you guys balance?
How do you get it so you guys are feeling good when you get on that stage?
I haven't cracked the code yet.
I'm moving in the right direction, but definitely haven't cracked the code.
Yeah, what do you got? What do like moving in the right direction but like definitely haven't cracked the code. Yeah, what do you got?
What do you got
for the right direction?
I mean,
I think it's just like
getting used to
all these changes
and putting
the scenery
so to speak
in its right place.
Like enjoying it,
appreciating it,
being really grateful for it
which I am
but also like
trying to
stay grounded so that I, i you know can stay healthy as
a human and have have some semblance of balance in life and that kind of thing and um you know
focus on writing you know that that's the tough thing for me like i wrote a lot when i was alone
a lot you know it was like years and years where I was just like chill and spent a lot of time alone. And that's when I wrote a lot of music. And
now it's, it's definitely way more challenging. Yeah. It's gotta be. Yeah. Especially if you
need to be alone to write music. Yeah. Yeah. And everyone's different with how they do
that. You know, what about you, Peter? Are you, do you need to be alone to write music
or you can write with anybody? It's like, it's uh most for the most part need to be alone
you know because i feel like the the big thing about when you write a song is that you kind of
want to like sing out all these like weird ideas and you know you don't want anyone like directly
next to you to like hear all these ideas or like all these weird vocal things that you're trying
to figure out yeah and so like it's better when nobody's around so that way you could just do
your thing and not have anyone you know anyone feel like you're being judged.
Yeah, but you don't get that time anymore.
No.
That sucks, dude.
Well, I think hopefully we're heading in the right direction
and just need to adjust and figure out how to manage our time
and make time for that.
Yeah, I think it's important because this is all new. i mean i'm not at y'all's level successfully but like i'm moving
up in the ladder too and i feel like everything is new it's different like how you guys in your
30s are you guys 20 i'm i turned 30 you just turned 30 28 20 hell yeah so we in the prime baby
we're ready to go where you at? I'm 33 that's a good number
I like it
30's been so wonderful to me
when I stop giving a fuck about what everyone else thinks
I think that just happened when you're 30
you're not insecure anymore
were you like that too in your 20's or what?
yeah
your 20's
your psyche is in such a weird
transitive place.
I've noticed that a lot of people kind of just start getting grounded in themselves in their 30s.
And I've definitely been looking forward to that.
What about you, P?
I mean, you're the businessman in this group.
You're running the ship in a way, dog.
I know about you, dog.
The last time we met, we knew nothing about it.
We met each other in a parking lot.
Now I did some research.
See what's up? Right. I'm in now. So you're like the day-to-day person right well that's you know in not like not completely you know well like used to be like when the band was like just
starting up i mean there's certain things they do that are day-to-day you know like the social
media social media yeah that's all of you yeah let's fucking go dog that's a fucking 12 hour job in itself
it would be much more difficult
if I didn't have amazing content
to work with
big shout out to our crew and everybody
who does such a great job in the video world
it's gotta be like
we were talking about this
when you guys got the bus
fuck yeah
but it was seven
right then all of a sudden like yeah we need this we need a camera guy and we need this and coach
has got to be with him is that his name the dude who just showed up yeah i fucking like that guy
too i'm sorry on instagram oh yeah he's funny dude and like but you're putting him on it would
be great for the show oh yeah i was thinking that if y'all said no, I was going to hit Coach. Because I thought
he'd have great stories
because now,
you built a family around you
and you put them to work.
You're doing all these live streams.
Right.
And he's being the video director
of your live streams.
Yeah.
And it's like,
you've got your best homies.
How important is it,
family,
to be on the road with you?
Super important.
Yeah, right.
I think, like what we
were talking about before and like the stress of the whole thing and like the weirdness that could
get in your head and stuff like that having your your homies your family around you while while
doing it is like it's make or break it's everything you know and everyone's friendly i'm looking at
all your photos you're like reading like kerouac in the fucking front. You're writing songs in the back.
You can tell everyone's smiling.
It's not a job.
For a beginning of success, a lot of people start getting anxiety.
Like, oh, fuck.
This is how it's going to be.
And other people, when they're with their family, they kind of adjust to, I guess, just being present.
And it's not even the people on the bus and the crew. It's like, I feel like we have a lot of people
who just are close friends and family
who fly out to a lot of shows.
And that's really huge for us too.
Yeah.
Like Kalinsky's flying out to every show.
And Greg Knight, especially.
Yeah, and DC Ani.
And I see Dave and Betty's been flying out every time too.
They're flying a lot too.
They're taking care of you.
I mean, this is a big step, bro.
This is just the beginning.
I know it's just the beginning.
But just drink water.
You guys, you're drinking water right now.
My man.
Let's go.
I thought you were drinking a fat carton of oat milk.
Keeps me running, man.
No, but I'm really, I'm like,'m like damn this guy's just mind is straight on the
presentness um but that's the thing it's like music meet your present when you're
writing music right that's when you feel like you're most present yeah i mean when it's happening
yeah yeah definitely what about like the pre the setup like i think a band's like you who have to
like change the set list every night and like stress out about that what the fuck? Like, Connecticut, fuck, we played there last year.
Fuck, we can't do that.
This is like I think your life is right now.
Yeah.
Is that something?
It's not inaccurate.
It's not inaccurate?
No, it's kind of like the nature of the beast.
Yeah, so what's your game plan?
People are starting to come to my shows more than just once.
Right.
Trying to do different shit.
What's your game?
What's your mind state when it comes to set lists regionally?
Well,
I,
you know,
I kind of like go in there
and I just saw like,
you know,
check what we played last time.
You know,
write down whatever
we didn't play last time.
Oh,
that's good.
And whatever else
we didn't play the night before.
And then,
you know,
then we'll kind of go in there
and,
you know,
mix it up a little bit
we've got a good little like it's kind of changed throughout time right now we've got a good little
committee happening right there's like a like a thread with uh peter coach and i coach like
writes them out these days fucking love this guy yeah this guy it's kind of different every show
great handwriting sometimes like sometimes he just like throws out some ideas peter usually kind of like does the the the you know prerequisite recon of like all right here's the batch of like
shit that's on the table yeah that's fun for me to do you like doing it yeah it's like it's like
you know it's like statistics you know yeah yeah it doesn't it doesn't take that value no no so
what's the what's the philosophy of when you could play a song again? I don't know.
You know, there's like, yeah, I'm trying to assess the dogma of that whole thing.
Me too.
Where it feels.
I mean, ultimately, at the end of the day, what we strive to be doing is playing what we feel like playing.
Yeah.
You know?
Right. Like, if we really want to play a song
four nights in a row,
then I think we should do that.
I usually don't feel like doing that.
I think most of the time,
he'll do the statistics stuff
and I'll go through and be like,
usually there's like,
I don't feel like playing like that.
I feel like playing that.
And then we kind of move from that.
It's like a gut thing.
You know what I mean?
And when you follow your guy's gut, normally it goes well, right? I think so. Yeah. I'd say from that it's like a gut thing yeah you know what i mean and when you follow you guys gut normally it goes well right i think so yeah i'd say the times it's like we like a set
list ends up being really weird it's like when we've when i like thought about it too much yeah
like give me an example like when did you overthink the set list for what show you know
it's it's been you got an idea you know no it's we i remember like like a couple years ago
anytime there was like a like a like a big show you know like something like we're like two weeks
in advance we're like all right like what are we gonna play at this show i feel like maybe like
early goose maybe like early goose misses were like or at least yeah or like that felt like a
little bit like so like we were playing like two months out right i was just like, ah. By the time you get to the show, it's like.
I think of that Wall Street show.
Yeah.
What's that?
It's like a theater that was, you know,
it's an old theater that reopened in Connecticut,
like our, you know, sort of Norwalk
or, you know, sort of hometown maybe
that, you know, reopened in like 2018.
We played a show there
and it was cool
it was a really big room
for us at the time
and
brought out
a bunch of our
home people
and stuff like that
and I remember
weeks leading up to it
we were like
alright this set
what are we going to say
what's it going to be
and then we got there
and it was just like
I don't really feel like
doing this
and we did it anyway
and it was kind of
whack vibe.
Yeah.
And I was like.
You walk out there kicking a rock or something.
Yeah.
I really just feel like playing this song, and we didn't.
And I was like, oh, we should have just played that song.
You know, it was a valuable lesson to be learned.
Yeah, exactly.
I agree.
Yeah.
I think every band has to go through that.
Yeah.
What are the growing pains of growing like this?
I think it's just a lot of making sure
that you have good communication all the
time. There's a lot of people
and a lot of moving parts all happening
at the same time and all growing together.
It's just making
sure that everybody feels like they can
communicate openly, honestly,
and making sure that we're receptive
to that.
There's a lot going on.
That's super hard.
Yeah.
Yeah.
How do you do that while you're focusing on music?
Yeah.
I mean, like things are moving so fast and, you know, I mean, the band is changing really
fast and like everything's changing really fast and it's really easy for shit to just
be happening and communication not be happening at the rate it needs to be happening.
So then there's these moments
where things kind of swell up,
whether it's in the band
or the whole team,
whatever it is,
and we realize,
oh, wow,
we need to take a minute here
and really work through all this
and talk it all out.
Because I feel like communication
has to be the biggest part of this,
no matter what.
Between you guys, your brothers,
I mean, you guys are thick and thin,
and then new people
who keep on coming into that core.
Like, I think about the Grateful Dead.
They always had, like,
40 or 50 people around them.
Like, what the fuck?
It's like, everyone's like,
or if it's Bobby's, like, you know,
like, it's just crazy.
Like, girls and managers
and managers' friends,
like, how do you, like,
know who our family, you know? Right. You gotta stick' friends. How do you know who are family?
Right.
You got to stick to the oat milk.
You got to stick to the oat milk.
Keep it solid.
What's the most...
You guys are in love?
Yeah.
You guys in love?
Oh, I think men with each other.
I love each other, right?
You still like each other, right?
Yeah. I have a partner. You guys have partners? I don men with each other. I love each other, right? Still like each other, right? Yeah, yeah.
I have a partner.
You guys have partners?
I don't have a partner.
What about the girl that was in that Instagram photo?
You guys wearing the same shirt?
Yeah, yeah.
That's your girl?
Well, yeah, you know, we're hanging out.
Oh, yeah, dude.
Let it go, Pete.
Yeah.
She's hot, dog.
Oh, thanks, man.
She's a beautiful girl.
And those shirts are cool.
That's your idea?
Yeah, with collaboration with her, yeah.
Good, man.
Yeah, super fun to do.
So you guys got girls.
How do you feel like it's guilty to have a loan?
Like you're talking about not having enough loan time.
So the loan time you have, it feels like you've got to give it to your girls.
So is there pressure in your head to like, I need to be by myself?
Or do your girls make you feel like you could be by yourself?
That's like a thing, you know, a communication thing. Um, she's, she's super
cool. You know, she's like, I, I don't, I give her a whole mess of credit because I don't think
there's a lot of people that really, um, are suited for, you know, being with someone in this kind of situation.
She really is.
She really is just very easygoing and laid back and kind of independent and does her thing.
And when we're able to be together,
I mean, she also comes to a lot of shows,
which is awesome.
It's awesome.
Yeah, so it's good.
It works.
What about you?
How are you doing, Pete, out there?
So far, so good.
Hell yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
There's a lot of encouragement for the other person to do what they need to do
and what they love to do.
So that is like a breath of fresh air for me
because I feel like that wasn't always the case in, you know, past relationships.
And it feels very like, you know, two independent people.
Yeah.
Which is awesome.
Yeah.
That's great.
I mean, that's so important because like it's hard for me.
I need to have alone time.
Yeah.
And like especially when you're always just stimulated with people everyone wanting to be around you or things you gotta do
I think it's gotta be hard to
think about yourself sometimes
you got a thing?
nah
I'm chilling
alright
who are your idols?
road dogs, out of road dogs
out of road dogs?
like people who crush it on the road?
that's like a whole
different
McCartney dude
that's a whole different
yeah
McCartney a road dog?
yeah he played lots of shows
wings
yeah
but like they
at a certain point
they were like
we're not playing shows
the Beatles
the Beatles stopped
playing shows
right
McCartney was still
slinging it?
he always played shows
he never stopped
oh wow
he was always
he was always playing shows
and mad respect to anybody especially him because he's he's in such great shape He never stopped. He was always playing shows.
Mad respect to anybody,
especially him because he's in such great shape.
He's still got a great voice.
He still can play.
Anybody who's that age who could still rip it,
they did something right.
Did you watch that Rick Rubin McCartney thing?
I've been hearing about that. I just watched it.
What did you love about it?
It's incredible. I watched the first two episodes,
and it's basically Rick and Paul breaking down songs
in kind of like a studio vibe.
So Rick's got a mixer, and he's bringing stuff up,
bringing stuff down.
He's like, how'd you do this?
How'd you get this sound?
And Paul is just going into stories,
and it's shot in all black and white.
It's really incredible.
What did you learn about songwriting from it? I learned that there's so much.
Paul talks a lot about him and John
when they were writing songs together.
And they were just bringing ideas into the studio.
And an hour and a half later, it was recorded and out.
It was out two weeks later. You know what I mean don't overthink like he didn't even have full songs
and he came in the studio sometimes and they would just they would like you know figure out some
things and i learned that um uh george martin producer had a lot to do with a lot of the
writing and arranging of everything else besides pretty much all the instruments.
So he was a big factor in every early Beatles recording for sure.
And those guys don't know a lot about music theory,
and you don't need to know a lot about music theory.
Paul McCartney does a little piano lesson,
in which case he shows you how to play a C major chord.
And he's like, look, then you just move it up.
Then move it up again.
Move it up again.
Move it up again. It's like, that's all the chords you need move it up then move it up again move it up again move it up again it's like
that's all the chords you need
you could write a perfectly
good song
with just these
oh my god
that's so simple
like why do we
overthink music
I don't know
that's really surprising
because there's
there's a lot of
I don't
there's a lot of
technical proficiency
in their writing
you know
they're like
they're going lots of places
a lot of cool stuff
I could see
like they're just like you know discovering and arriving at these places but a lot of it seems
like like you know calculated or or like you know this this just makes sense it's just like you know
intricate changes and like pretty sophisticated yeah from a technical standpoint like the stones
i'm like yeah those guys are just fucking sending it but like it's so true. It's so true how they write because they don't write together too.
Oh, really?
Mick does the 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. sessions,
and Keith does the 8 to 4 a.m.
So they never write together.
So Keith would just put down some stuff,
and then Mick would get in there.
Yeah, or vice versa.
Oh, wow.
Mick's team writes a tune.
Are you talking about now or back in the day? I think that was happening for Bridges of wow. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If the next team writes a tune, then they're going to... Are you talking about now or like back in the day?
I think that was happening for Bridges of Babylon.
My buddy was the engineer.
Wow.
He'd have to do like 16-hour days because they wanted 8 a.m., 5 a.m., wherever he was running.
Is that like a beef thing or is that just like a time thing?
Yeah, yeah.
They don't work together good.
Wow.
Yeah, it's insane.
That is insane.
But, you know, I interviewed Chuck Lavelle, too.
He's like Uncle Chuck. You know, he's been in like Allman Brothers, Rolling Stones, and like, you know i interviewed chuck lavelle too he's like uncle chuck you know he's been in like all my brothers rolling stones and like you know he will never
talk shit but chuck lavelle chuck lavelle who am i thinking of piano player chuck liddell
chuck liddell's all right my dude chuck liddell dude yeah yeah yeah yeah killer yeah but that's
crazy dude like talking to those
old heads like that
and how like
what's your songwriting process
do you guys bring each
song to the table
or do you guys work together
like who writes the lyrics
like what is all that
interestingly
like a month ago
or a few weeks ago
like
yeah we worked on a song
together
on like Rick's Back Porch
which is
as like
as like a
it just like
it was like
kind of the first time that we've...
Peter
joined the band, and
we were just thrown in the fire.
We already had...
Goose had
Spafford opening dates booked
in January of
2018 before Peter
joined the band.
It was a crazy tectonic period, and I hit him up, and he joined the band and then like you know things were just like it was a crazy tectonic
period and i hit him up and like he joined the band so like we've got it feels like we've just
been going this whole time you know right when you joined yeah yeah holy shit dude yeah that's
insane yeah it was it was it's yeah and we kind of just like haven't stopped i think um peter like
the missing link dog well i you, it's a combination of everybody.
So when you haven't stopped,
so you're writing,
you've basically been writing all the lyrics,
writing a lot of the stuff for the band.
We both write songs.
But in the beginning, before Peter was rocking,
when you guys came in,
so how did you guys adjust,
hand off the songwriting and stuff?
Was it planned or like,
hey, I got this song.
To what he was just talking about, that was kind of the first time that we've like ever sat down
with like really really raw ideas i mean like and honestly we were we were kind of just practicing
for this other thing and it wasn't even like let's hang out and write it just kind of happened
and that was like kind of the first time so basically you know it's it's been a lot of like
you know i bring a song table he brings a song to the table. We kind of work out, figure out how we're going to do it and execute it together,
which has been like, there's been a lot of synergy there from the get-go,
which is why it clicked from the beginning in terms of how...
Tell me about this process. You guys are now in the room together.
Was it like come natural? Like, hey, we're writing a song together.
Jeff had a date that night, I think, and so it it was pretty short-lived actually jeff was like we gotta go
i was like all right man well remember this remember this part of it that's what i wrote
man i want 30 okay that blows up remember i'm the songwriter here on this one no but um man i i was
writing tunes in nashville um vince herman and i did uh we wrote 20 songs in uh three days with 15
different writers so there's four writers in the room every two hours and you switch you write a
full song in two hours it was such a thrill to do yeah i've heard about that it's gotta be a headache
with the songwriting you guys are a band wild dude it was crazy vince herman is this is insane
person dude you ever kick it with vinny? No. From Leftover Salmon?
No.
Knowledgeable, dude.
He's been in the scene.
He's just like, he moved to Nashville.
If you ever get a chance to do a festival, pick his brain.
He's here.
He's here tonight.
Oh, dude, let's kick it with Vince Herman tonight.
All right.
All right.
I know you guys, you're busy people.
A couple more questions.
Sure.
And then we'll...
So what's the song you write about together?
Co-Clab. What's it about? I didn't get there. It's just some music. Oh, just some music. Yeah, yeah. I don't's the song you write about together? Co-Clab.
What's it about?
I didn't get there.
It's just some music.
Oh, it's just some music.
Yeah, yeah.
I don't know any lyrics yet,
but...
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
What about like...
What are you guys
talking about right now
in your lyrics
for your new tunes?
Well, I'm talking about
a lot of like...
I guess my parents
are going through a divorce.
Oh, shit.
So talking about that mostly, you know.
Were you guys close?
Oh, yeah.
I mean, all, you know, my whole life I felt like growing up was like really, you know, beautiful.
It was just like they made like a great home for me, you know.
And, you know, it's hard to like realize like when you're, you know, older. Like, oh, yeah. Parents are people too, you know, and just like, and it's, you know, it's hard to like, realize like when you're,
you know,
older,
like,
oh yeah,
parents are people too,
you know.
They have a relationship.
They have a relationship.
They're not just your mom and dad.
Exactly.
They have,
they have their own goals and wants and needs
and everything like that.
So,
you know,
it's just,
it's been hard like,
taking like,
getting both sides,
you know,
and,
and,
it's, went into a lot of my writing
yeah what'd you learn about relationships from it a lot yeah definitely a lot you know i think
i think like communication is so important yeah it makes me really value that. And just being like, I don't know, giving space and communicating.
That's everything.
Yeah.
Isn't it crazy?
Being present is a lot harder than you think it is.
Yeah.
It's like everyone's like, oh, be present.
Well, what the fuck?
How do you know when you're truly present?
When you're listening and you're understanding what the universe is.
Usually you don't realize when you're being fully present.
No.
You don't actually think about anything else, and you don't even realize that you're understanding what the universe is usually you don't realize when you're being fully present no you don't actually think about anything else
and you don't even realize that you're doing that
yeah because when you're thinking about being present
you're living in the past
because you're not present
the biggest
thing that prevents that
I think is there's so much shit
and it's unique to all of us
but there's so many different things
that can make someone shut down.
You know, like, you know,
you don't really realize
and like different levels of shutting down,
but, you know, certain situations
or certain, I don't know,
all kinds of dynamics and stuff like that.
You just, you know, shut down on,
even if it's a little bit,
then that's, you know, biting your presence.
Yeah.
And it's gotta be hard when maybe you're burnt out,
just did a big run of shows, you come home, and you're like, baby.
I got nothing.
I got nothing for you.
My brain is fried.
Yeah.
And they're understanding about that now?
They get it?
Or is it still hard for them to get?
Yeah.
You know, yeah.
I don't know.
It's hard, dude.
Yeah.
It's a human. Like, we, I don't know. It's hard. Yeah. I don't, that's a human, like we're all human.
Right.
It's like the same thing of being, not being conscious that your parents might
were tiffing when we were kids because we're like in love with the whole idea
of family, you know, like everything happened.
Like when we take a step back, I think it's just getting older too.
It's like, you don't dread the little things.
You take a step back, take the microscope away and like try to see things
for what it is right right it's like uh you told me about your your dad right yeah yeah and that
must be hard and like as you get older how do you how are you learning about that idea from earlier
oh you know to your question before like it's it's getting easier to write about.
That one, I couldn't really write about it.
I was like, oh, I should obviously write a song about this.
And it was whack every time.
So it's kind of like, I don't know.
That was a big one.
And it's sort of, I guess, in recent years,
has gotten closer to the surface.
It was pretty far from the surface previously.
So, yeah, I mean, I don't know.
It's an ongoing thing.
I haven't, still, same deal.
I haven't cracked the code.
You will, though, if you're thinking about cracking the code.
Some people just distract themselves with fucking drugs
and oat milk and the whole thing. Well, the oat milk, yeah. No, but about cracking the code. Some people just distract themselves with fucking drugs and oat milk.
Well, the oat milk, yeah.
No, but that's the thing.
We're finally being aware that we don't have enough time in the day
to not distract ourselves with anything that doesn't matter.
So keep rocking, boys.
I fucking love it.
And I'm proud of you.
It's like you know i i feel i feel
horrible that was a expressing my um my anxieties about my family on y'all when you just rolled into
the show in connecticut when we did the first interview you were yeah i that's why i went to
therapy i like i was like that was the the month before i started going to therapy about why I was all fucked up.
Gotcha.
So I was very curious about that.
I really respected that.
I obviously didn't expect it, but it was honestly refreshing to just talk openly and freely and fearlessly about stuff like that.
I think everyone could use a little more of that.
It's uncomfortable and like,
you know,
it's difficult,
but we all kind of need to just be real about this stuff.
You know?
Yeah.
That leads to my next question.
Are you depressed?
I'm just kidding.
No,
we're done.
We're done.
Stay tuned for next time.
No,
I really
appreciate your company and you know I know we don't
really know each other and I just want to
say from an outsider looking in
that I'm just fucking proud and it's a lot
of work and it's got to be stressful
it's got to be just fucking
you have to be everywhere and think
10 steps ahead sometimes
you're doing a great job so keep rocking
we appreciate you man
thanks for being on the show one last question I know we didn't talk about this last time but 10 steps ahead sometimes is saying you're doing a great job. So keep rocking, boys. We appreciate you, man. Thank you so much for having us.
Thanks for being on the show.
One last question.
I know we didn't talk about this last time,
but when it's all said and done,
what do you want to be remembered by?
Oh, man.
It's kind of loaded, right?
Yeah.
Kind of a loaded question.
It's the end of the show.
Like, you know, when I'm out?
Yeah, when you're out.
I don't know, man.
That's up to them.
Do you think about death? Yeah, when you're out. I don't know, man. That's up to them. You think about death?
Yeah.
What's your take on death?
You know, there's like, there's, recently actually, I've kind of been thinking about it a lot.
This year in particular.
Same, me too.
Yeah, I don't know what it was.
Like this winter and stuff like that, it was really on my mind a whole lot.
like this winter and stuff like that.
It was really on my mind a whole lot.
And, you know, kind of observing these like two sides,
like the human in me is obviously scared of it.
But I think ultimately,
I think I'm more scared of like the experience of dying than death.
It's like, I'm not scared to like go to the next.
I'm not scared to go through the door. Yeah.
It's walking there.
Yeah.
Just like two minutes of like, I got like shot. I'm like, holy go through the door. Yeah. I just like, yeah, just like the, like,
like two minutes of like,
I got like shot.
I'm like,
holy shit.
That's right.
That's where,
like,
I always think about plane crash.
Like it takes a minute.
Right. That's my biggest fear of dying.
Yeah.
It's going to take a minute for me to die,
to hit something.
Right.
You know,
like that walk,
like you're talking about.
I must,
that's,
I think that's,
I don't know,
like as you get older
like i i interview people with cancer and stuff and interview people like who are dying that's
like when i want to i've been taking interviews at like funeral or like not funerals but old people
have homes and stuff yeah and just trying to hear their stories and get all their stories out but
it's like i need to ask them about death and it's like
it's um they're more acceptable of the walk now as you get older i think we're just realizing that we're not 20 year old punks and we could right put like i get ass reflex now that's just the
beginning of the walk to death i don't want to fuck with anything else you know yeah yeah it's
my thought of on it has really kind of been
changing recently like i've really been i think realizing how profound of a spiritual experience
it must be it's gotta be you know um i don't know y'all ever take dmt i have not i think that's like
the closest thing because they shoot that shit out of your brain to make you not feel whatever's happening.
Yeah.
That's the other thing.
Like, you know, I don't know.
It depends on how, you know,
deep down the spiritual rabbit hole you want to get.
But like the, you know, that moment of like, oh my God,
I just got chopped in half and I'm going to be alive for another two minutes
and like just look at my guts or whatever.
Like I think, think yeah right that
sounds like it sucks but i i kind of also suspect that from the spiritual level like you're like
kind of already out of your body at that point yeah and like you're not you're not really like
yeah you're right it's kind of it's probably like a pretty weird experience but yeah your mental
thoughts in that point are probably not it's not like you're feeling it yeah yeah you're definitely
not i don't think you're feeling it I just think about people
When they had wars with big old swords
And shit
Can you imagine that shit?
That is the scariest shit
Alright boy get out there
With a big old sword
Like a big line charging the next line
Are we that soft?
Which is like watching Netflix
These dudes used to get in a field and just go at it
That's crazy
yeah
first of all like why
I don't know
I just can't wrap my head around like
unless it was for a really good reason
I can't wrap my head around
like I actually wanted to like
religion
kill people
it's not
control
like that's like
that's such a
up and close killing
oh yeah
where like you see
like that's
that's the worst about
watching these like
Saving Private Ryan's and shit
is like the eyeballs like seeing like you stare dude that's the worst about watching these Saving Private Ryan's and shit, is the eyeballs.
Oh, God.
Seeing, you stare.
Dude, that movie fucked me up when I was a kid.
Dude, the guy getting stabbed in the heart.
It fucked me up.
And you see, I was like, ugh.
It fucked me up, too, dude.
It was big time.
I saw that when I was really young.
I was like, whoa.
Yeah.
That's when maybe, then I see all the blood, like Lord of the, what's that movie on HBO?
Game of Thrones.
Game of Thrones and shit.
Game of Thrones, yeah yeah it's like god
fuck thank god so cheers to cheers to like our only worry is set list
so much to be grateful for uh guys jesus keep rocking thanks so much i love you i'll be ruining
you on and uh you know all my dave dc on is i i'm just so Keep going Love you too bro Love you bro
Have a good day
Love you man
Now
A message from the UN
The white line was so thin
I'm sinking in
This blow wasn't real
Not that I can feel
Gave me the wrong kind
Yeah, I sure fucking mind
That wasn't cool
As I sit here and drool
Look just the same
They're not the same
Come in small plastic bags
This work looks like a hang
One gets you up
But now I'm just stuck
This isn't fun
It just fucking sucks
Don't let the wooks get you high
It's probably ketamine
Before you snort that line
It could be ketamine.
I can't feel my legs, ketamine.
I'm on the floor super high, fuck ketamine.
Fuck ketamine. Fuck Ketamine.
Don't do it, man.
Fuck Ketamine.
And there you have it.
Thank you, Goose.
Hell yeah.
Rick and Pete, giving your boy Frasco another shot at that.
I know your fan base was pissed about the first interview.
See, I don't look at the fan pages, groups.
You know, I'm insecure that they're all talking shit about interviews I do.
But I overheard a couple of things people said about how some of the fans of the Goose band
didn't like my first interview so i hope that was
a better one for you but um that's it guys i hope you had fun we said it all for this week um i know

and I'm like, damn, I'm getting old.
Because I don't want to,
because I'm not at the festival,
I'll just want to drink all day,
and I can't because I have to gig,
and I don't want to roll in there

venue and I don't think I've sold that many tickets before in Charleston.
Maybe it'll sell out.
But if not, it's a great place to see the band.
It's on the beach, and if you're not from Charleston
and don't know what the Windjammer is, it's a fun venue.

festival ass. Gross. All right. I love you. I'll see you next week. Who's on the show next week?
Oh, damn. Yeah. Dave from Chromio. That's gonna be a fun one.
That was a great interview.
I liked him.
He's super smart.
He's got like a PhD in French literature from Columbia.
I'm like, whoa, this guy's way too smart for me.
But I think we had a good conversation about everything.
And I think you're gonna really like that one.
