I think it highlights a great entertainer and storyteller, you know, because you find ways to connect to the crowd and connect the song into people and make it feel they can feel their burden or struggle or their happiness through the song because of how you talk about wrap it up um and i think people actually talk about them yeah you know how much i love to be talking about listen to the lyrics instead of watching the craziness that is the live show with the band, which is awesome.

Yeah. I think there is a level of like people really, I mean, especially with life is easier, like people gravitated into that song. It was awesome. And you got them from the jump, dude. It was like, you didn't have to get wind of over ever. You had them. It's crazy.

We never get standing ovations with my band. So Nick nick's not not having this. I forgot we haven't gave nick attention for a month. I gotta get him on this podcast um But it's good. Yeah, I feel like if we were getting more standing ovations than we ever did with doing the ruckus stuff Well, there's something to be said about uh pulling at people from their heart a little bit more than the entertainment side of like, the craziness, but I think both is important. So I'm excited to see how you add what you just did into the band set.

Insomnia has been going crazy lately. You should take sleeping pills. I don't know. Then you get addicted to sleeping pills. Yeah. My doctor's like these won't get you addicted. I've been taking every night you which one do you have lumen or like Viagra frazzapan or I don't fucking know it's like kind of it's a oh it's like a antidepressant like a benzo I think not antidepressant it's a anxiety

yeah like Xanax yeah fucking benzos bro I've been sleeping way better yeah you sleep deeper huh I sleep deeper I don't wake up every two hours one thing that's been helping me is I've been doing this magnesium. I heard magnesium's good for you. It relaxes your soul. Yeah, do you wake up like kind of groggy though? Yeah, I have dreams. Yeah, but I don't mind that because I can snap out of it.

Really? Yeah. It's hard for me to... I like waking up and going straight to work so it's like my brain's fuzzy. I wake the fuck up though anyway, so like me being groggy is still not that groggy. Because when I wake up, I'm fucking up. It doesn't take me much to get the motor going right that's probably why I'm an insomniac I never really was

Then I got cocky, went to the penny slots, lost it all.

But it was cool. Everyone there was like these like cool, wealthy artists. Like one guy was an art director for all the car companies. One guy was a tech guy, like Tahoe. It was just like a really cool hang.

And then, you know, we're getting fucked up drinking. It was my last day of tour. You'd be proud of me. I only did party stuff twice a week. It's pretty good. Pretty good. It's a good number, actually. Twice a week is good.

The light. The light. So I waited all week, and then I finally partied Sunday after the Tahoe show. Right. And basically, yada yada, it's three in the morning, the guy's like, hey, you wanna go gamble a little bit? I'm like, yeah, I'll gamble with you.

I'm like, I thought we were just gonna do a little blackjack, 25, we go with a high-limit blackjack. Oh no. I'm like, dude, I don't have this much money, I have like 300 bucks in my pocket. Don't worry, we're gonna win. We're gonna stay confident. So we've been 100 bucks.

He was throwing an extra 100 bucks on like the side bets. I don't know that about that. They have like side bets where like 100 bucks wins you 300 bucks if you're over 20. Oh okay, so you can like make side bets, I get it. About different parts of blackjack. Like, oh this is over. And all of a sudden I'm winning. I get it. $2,700 holy shit, and he kept on throwing extra hundreds in there. This guy's super well super cool This guy won't I won't disclose his name. He's like a big fan and I just never knew. And then I'm up 27, then I go down a thousand real quick, like in three minutes. And he kept, he threw me a couple more. And then we're at 17, I got to like 1700. And he's like, we're leaving.

I'm like, he's like, I'm like, and I was like, do I owe you money back for all the time? He's like, nope, just take the money. And we're like, holy shit, this is the best night ever. So it's 4 a.m., you know, nothing good happens. That's an hour? It was like, it happened quick. That happened, it sounded like it took four,

like it was seven in the morning. No, it was like 35 minutes. Oh, that's so. You're betting $100 a hand. Yeah, I guess you're right, yeah, I didn't think about that, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're like, this is scary. Yeah, yeah.

I'm not, my mom, I'm frugal. My mom, I didn't think about that. Yeah. This is scary. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not my mom I'm frugal my mom. I'm my mom says yeah penny slots or bust type thing. I don't gamble. I don't like gambling Yeah, it's kind of it's a sports gaming a little me. Yeah, I'm not good at it But like no one's good, but I like and then I forgot I had the money I think I spent like 600 extra I felt like I had I had the money in my pocket Mm-hmm, or no, I put my money in the backpack and then when I woke like I had I had the money in my pocket. Mm-hmm or no I put my money in the backpack and then when I woke up I Had 800 extra dollars. Why I don't know. Oh my god. That's the best I'm like like finding 200 800 extra chips in my pocket. I'm like, holy shit

But I'm like, I gotta get the fuck out of here because I'll spend all this money that's in my pocket. True, true, true. So you did. So I left and I did the War and Treaty podcast. That was awesome. I saw you when you did. So I left and I did the Warren Treaty podcast. That was awesome. And I matured. I said, I could party for two days. I said, no, going back home, I'm going to sleep. I went to bed at 7 p.m. ready to go prepared.

kind of south of like the line, but then there's, there's all houses east and west of me that burned. Yeah, well Taylor lost his entire studio Standing but they lost like two structures like behind their house like and the main was a I was in there like the two nights before you know looking at all his old guitars and vintage amps and all the shit and Jesus All that and you know, and then a lot of our neighbors just rallied to help dude, you know, like everyone was like How can we help how can we help?

Wearing this shirt. I heard LA's yep Everybody started and then you know, we kind of went into action putting this fun together within a few days all these musicians were like sending stuff and trying to help and so, you know, there's a lot of negative, but watching everybody kind of rally together and support each other is huge too. As a Los Angeles, this support is remind me of the Northridge earthquake. Oh yeah.

Oh yeah. And also it remind me of how the whole country got together after 9-11. Yeah. Yep. And then the other one is like Katrina. Yeah, Katrina. Katrina, yeah. Obviously that disaster had so many horrible things. So I don't really want to compare it to that. But just like one day everything's there and then the next day everyone's displaced, you know? Like so many people had to move I know like all our neighbors and all the other parents in our school like they're all like in different cities now and it's it's crazy I think about the data the most out of all the people who lost their houses because I've lived there

for generations yeah and it's like it's not like a super wealthy people right Chuck's not a lot of resources no And the other reason why it hit so hard here is because Palisades had started like 10 a.m. that morning. Our our fire started like 615 or something p.m. So all those resources were fighting that fire. And then we're way up in the northeast here, you know, and trying and trying to like battle a fire with like 60 mile-hour winds It was crazy like in like they didn't have the resource they didn't have the helicopters the plane right, they barely had enough fire engines to so it was a Toughier man and like a lot of the houses here

From like, you know, first of all, they're from like 50, 60 to a hundred years ago, and they've been passed down generation. There's a lot of like, there's a lot of black families that settled up there in the fifties and sixties, a lot of like old school artists, a lot of jazz musicians, writers. There's like this whole community up there that, you know, I just hope when we rebuild that,

that you don't lose the culture that lives there, you know, which, you know, I just hope when we rebuild that you don't lose the culture. Right.
