Andy Frasco's World Saving Podcast - Nick & Andy

Episode Date: October 27, 2026

This episode is brought to you by JamCut.IO (https://jamcut.io/). If you're a musician and you're tired of making clips all the time, check these guys out! Andy's back and he's reading French love poe...ms in Central Park now, we guess. Nick has some concerns. The boys reunite to talk about Andy's New York reset, grieving the loss of his friend Clark, and finding a life outside the party. They also get into the absurd economics of playing Red Rocks, why music managers need a new pay structure, and Andy's plan to write 100 songs before making a record with the band. Plus: Elizabeth Holmes, tour nightmares, recurring Billy Strings dreams, and whether reading in a bar makes you an asshole.

Starting point is 00:00:00 We don't have to both clap. And we're live. Andy Frasco's World Saving Podcast. It is I, Andy Frasco, back from my hiatus. Welcome back, everyone. I'm proud to be here. More of a low atus. Nick's been holding it the fuck down over here, huh?
Starting point is 00:00:20 Like a weightlifter or something. Oh, my God. How's it going, Nick? Good. Was it a hiatus or a low atus or both? That was a little bit of both, you know? Yeah. I had to go into the trenches.
Starting point is 00:00:33 I was like, I re-listened that podcast we did last time. I'm like, damn, I sound sad as fuck. I mean, you were sad as fuck. I was strung out. And I was strung out, you know? Oh, you were? I didn't know about that. I was strung out.
Starting point is 00:00:46 I'm like, finally back on the straight and arrow. No, I'm not doing blow anymore. I'm like barely drinking. I'm like watching movies. I went to the Nathan Fielder documentary last. Don't. Don't. I'm seeing it later today probably.
Starting point is 00:00:59 Don't spoil it. my bro it is the most magical piece of art I've ever seen my god damn life dude I'm so fired up about this movie I love that guy his shit is so good sometimes and it's so uncomfortable that I can't watch it sometimes you know what I'm talking about oh my god
Starting point is 00:01:16 well that sort of thing it was like I'm squirm makes me squirm yeah I went with my new assistant and uh she are you got a new assistant I got a new assistant and I got a new uh yeah we're not gonna talk about that.
Starting point is 00:01:32 But yeah, I got a new assistant. She's awesome. And we went to the movie and she's like, she gets on my ass when I'm like talking. But I'm like, I was like, I felt like, you know, I'm like, oh my God. Oh, no. Oh, Jesus.
Starting point is 00:01:47 I'm like going through all these emotions. I couldn't stop my fucking mouth. Everyone's like laughing. I'm like, oh my. Because it's so funny too. Like Nathan Fielder did. It's so suspenseful. So funny.
Starting point is 00:02:00 so heartfelt and so psychopathic. These fucking people are psycho-mother-fucking pathic, dude. He's kind of a psychopath too, but like in a good way. Who, Nathan? Yeah. Oh, yeah. He taught me a lot about how I should interview. He is so dry.
Starting point is 00:02:19 It was like a lesson in interviewing. He can get people to like just say it. He gets them to say it without leading him to it, but he is leading him to it, but he's not, but you know what I mean? Oh, dude. Well, it's also like being direct, but being direct enough where they're not threatened by the question. You have to kind of like... It's not too blunt.
Starting point is 00:02:39 Yeah, you know, me and you, we got the tism where we just say, are you dumb? Have you done ketamine? Are you psychopath? Are you sociopath? Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's kind of fun to be like that, too, though. It's better than being a complete pussy and not doing either. Yeah, you're right.
Starting point is 00:02:55 How's it going up there? Oh, my God. Denver right now, not to be a... guy in his 40s talking about the weather but it is the best weather ever right now. Bro, New York too. I am walking around the streets.
Starting point is 00:03:07 I am, I clip, I didn't even realize I jumped and clacked my toes. You know those things? I just like was so excited. I clicked the back of my heels. What? Bro, I could do that?
Starting point is 00:03:22 I didn't think I could do that either, dude. Have you heard that song I recall Central Park and Fall? No. You should go on a walk and listen to it. It's like an old classic jazz standard. I'm moving to like the middle of central park. That's what you said.
Starting point is 00:03:40 That's going to be sick, dude. Oh, dude. I'm like, I am in love with New York City. Dude, the Westman's so nice everywhere. I can't believe it. It's like payback for summer. Summer was awful. This is a brutal summer.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Oh, God. It's been so hot everywhere. So hot. So hot. So hot. So hot. So hot. It felt like in the bad way.
Starting point is 00:04:00 Yeah. What are you doing this weekend? What do you got on tap? What are you going to do? You got shows? I got asked to go to the Baltimore Ravens game. Ooh, who they playing? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Oh, you're going to Baltimore. You're not going to, it's not like in New York. That's probably like two hours away. And then I fly to New York. I'll see you. Yeah, Monday from New York, but yeah. Hold on. I can't stop thinking about this chick from Nathan Filter's documentary.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Psycho. Do you know anything about her? Yeah, I do, because I kind of watched the other day. documentary I used to read about, I like to read articles about people like that too. I mean, she's like basically like a psych, a sociopath, but she like convinced all these people to invest in her blood testing business, right? And then it failed. Yeah. It made me like, the documentary made me feel like, oh, I feel sorry for her and I feel bad for her with all these manipulating people. But then right after I went to HBO and watched that inventor, I'm like, oh, this girl's
Starting point is 00:04:54 fucking playing everybody. I mean, there's the thing where they could. just everyone can be bad. Oh yeah, we're... You know what I'm saying? Like, this is kind of a thing that I think it's been happening. It's not on you. It's not like your problem.
Starting point is 00:05:08 This is a thing that happens a lot like an internet argument. Some bad guy will do something. And then like they like use this straw man or like this other guy to compare and they're like, he's even worse. But it's like there doesn't always have to be a good guy. It can just be two bad guys fucking each other over.
Starting point is 00:05:20 I know. I realize... It's clearly what the government is. Oh my God. Have we talked since those reptilian people have been walking around in the fucking White House? I don't know about this.
Starting point is 00:05:31 Check out that girl, that Dell girl. Really? Dell? Brother. This girl, Sandra Dell or Nancy Dell? Oh, Nancy Dell, I think. Odell, Odell. The one that's doing the kids.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Look what she looks like, dog. Okay, hold on. Oh, no, you're talking about the one giving away the accounts for Dell. For Del, Michael Dell's wife. Yeah. They're doing the Trump accounts where every kid gets like 25K or something.
Starting point is 00:06:06 Right. I saw her. She looks. I don't want to make fun of her looks though. My light's being weird here. Hold on. It's not about the looks. It's her eyes.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Her eyes are so far away. And her like how her throat goes. I'm like becoming conspiracy theories ever since I moved to New York. I've been hanging out in the parks and you've seen all these people. You're like, how can there be this many people in the world? This can't be real. I am becoming the person that you make fun of, Nick. I have been reading books in the park.
Starting point is 00:06:35 No, I like that. Look what I'm reading. Actually, that's, okay, now I'm making fun to you. Now that I see what book it is. I thought it was going to be like. I'm reaching fucking French love poems in the park. They're drinking coffees. I agree.
Starting point is 00:06:49 I think reading in a coffee shop or a park, cool. Reading in a bar I'm kind of out on, which I know makes me kind of a dick. but there's something I'm out on that too Okay I'll put it this way It seems performative At a bar
Starting point is 00:07:01 It can be If you're a woman I'm okay with it Because you could be doing it So no men come up and talk to you Yeah Which is understandable Which I know sounds pandering
Starting point is 00:07:11 But I do think that way Every guy that has a book in the bar I'm like Eh It's like the same guy That's like waiting With acoustic guitar In the dorm room
Starting point is 00:07:21 To play Dave Matthews When a girl walks by It's the same guy Just grown up You know It's like you don't need a fedora and a book. Yeah, yeah. Chill out, Tom Hamilton.
Starting point is 00:07:33 I like that we like him and we're still just making fun of him. Dude, he asked me to be on his serious X-M Grateful Dead show. That'd be sick. I mean, the thing about that guy is like, he can take a joke. He's not a little bitch. One thing I appreciate about Tom Hamilton, he's not a little bitch. But anyway, back to your thing. I think reading the park's pretty dope, but that book is hilarious.
Starting point is 00:07:52 That looks performative. I know you're probably enjoying it. It does look performative. It's a little baby book I put in my pocket. It's called French love poems. Oh, hello. Oh, let me just grab my book here. I'm growing weary.
Starting point is 00:08:05 I'm turning such into a West Village piece of shit, dude. Yes, I'm 40 and single. Why? Hello. Hello, no, I don't have a job during the day. I hang out in the books and read and pretend to know I have no French. I'm on sabbatical right now. I'm finding myself in the parks of Central.
Starting point is 00:08:27 I'm on sabbatical from being self-employed. Yeah, I'm on sabbatical because I... I got the best of me. Exactly. I'm on tour because life's really hard, especially when you do hard drugs every single night. Man, so tough drinking a whole bottle of Jameson at night and waking up at 2 p.m. God, it's tough on me.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Why have I grown so weary in this time? I guess I'll have another bag, please, sir. One more bag for the boys. One more bag for the West Village boy, reading the poems in the park. Yes, I know I'm in Raleigh, and I have no clue what's in it, but I'll take one more bag for me
Starting point is 00:09:07 and the gentleman, please, and the fellas. Why am I so tired? Oh, my God. Why do I feel like I want to just beat myself up every day? Oh, yeah, you're up to 7 a.m. Trying to jerk off. These French love poems will help settle me down. And remind me how single I am.
Starting point is 00:09:23 You know what's really been helping me? Like figuring out and get back into a schedule. You know, like when you're a musician and you just like you get, you start absorbing, kissing your ass about like, I'm a vagabond,
Starting point is 00:09:38 I'll stay up till floor making music. And then you wake up at 4 p.m. And you just feel like a piece of shit. There is a thing about waking up by 4 p.m. Even if you worked second shift, it's still like I did. I'm not talking about Yacht Club, but I worked the door again.
Starting point is 00:09:53 And it's like, Yeah, you, you like sleep in because you worked late as fuck, but like, it's like, you just still feel like shit. It's like the sun's going down in two, especially this time of year. The sun goes down in like two hours. Yeah, and it comes up early, right? No, it stays. There's just less daylight, period.
Starting point is 00:10:12 Like, we don't have that. You're like, we don't have that in California, bro. The sun's always out in L.A. It never runs in Southern California. They ain't writing French poems in the park in L.A., that's for sure. No, what are they reading in L.A., you think? How to win friends and influence people? Yeah, they're reading.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Yeah. My shit's fucking. Yeah, the... My shit's fucked up. Hold on. Keep talking. The Haley, whatever. What's her name?
Starting point is 00:10:40 Who's the girl from that documentary? Oh, Elizabeth Holmes? Yeah. How to Become a Psychopath. How to Become a Sociopath by Elizabeth Holmes. Yeah. How to Win a. friends and influence people and rip people off.
Starting point is 00:10:54 How to pretend you're someone's friends until they totally take everything from you by Elizabeth Holmes. Her voice. It's so creepy. I gotta be honest though. She's talking. There's something about her, man. You know she goes crazy on it too.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Dude, she probably rides it crazy. I've talked to you in so long. Either that. She either goes crazy on it or she's awful. There's no in between. But this guy she's with, he talks about like saying oh we have i'm not gonna i'm not i'm not saying anything yeah because i don't see that but you're not the guy she's with it's not it's not the indian business man
Starting point is 00:11:30 no she did like some psychopathic narcissists who i'll just tell you one thing well they attract each other they attract each other big time she's into people taking care of her what she isn't i'm just out here alone in the in the park of read french poems doc these these french poems will heal me well in my son it's a piece of shit for doing this. Because it's not performative either. I'm just trying to get better at poems. I will argue, I'm not a big poem guy,
Starting point is 00:12:00 but I will argue that Central Park is kind of like the least performative place to do it because there's so many people there. Yeah. You can't really, you can't stick out. There's going to be 10 crazier people than you within eyesight. Yeah. Like, I don't pull out the book in the subway. Subway takes.
Starting point is 00:12:22 Hello, everybody. My subway take is everyone should be reading French poems. I'm Jewish, by the way. I have my headphones in and I'm Jewish, by the way. Hello. I don't even know why that's funny. Free the Upper West Side. Damn, that's so good.
Starting point is 00:12:46 Free Williamsburg. Free Williamsburg. No, but it's funny, man. I was there when they had the Palestine When they had the Palestine rally when Nanyahu was there Did you lay low? No, I was in the streets
Starting point is 00:13:02 I'm a Jew but I'm Fuck you guys Fuck you! No, I'm kidding I put my afro down Slick it down No, I was in the streets of them I thought it was you know
Starting point is 00:13:14 Put on a Yeah, yeah That's funny You put on 76th Jersey That's so funny dude How corny is that shit? I don't know He's corny.
Starting point is 00:13:26 I love the guy, but he is a wine mom. I found out I was just in a LeBron spell. Yeah, it happens. I've been in one since I was 23 years old or whatever. I mean, he has me completely. I am so happy. The Lakers look so fun and happy and happy, dude. They look fun.
Starting point is 00:13:42 Someone likes the Lakers now. I wonder why. Because LeBron's gone. No. But you know. Why? Because they're all a certain race now. Oh, yes.
Starting point is 00:13:54 What do they call them? They call them the VFW? Yeah, they call them the VFW. It was like a Vietnam Veterans Rally. That's so good. One thing that's really changed my life of how I control anxiety and how I control going through my day-to-day of partying and playing really hard every night
Starting point is 00:14:17 and going into back to being a normal person during the day. I've been doing this thing called contrast therapy, where basically I go in a sauna for 45 minutes. I do 15 minute intervals three times, and then I'll do a cold plunge between two to three minutes every other time. And through that, I've seen my dopamine level dramatically grow. I have been the happiest I've been for a long time. And it's all because of OTHER Ship.
Starting point is 00:14:48 Othership is a New York and Toronto-based company that gave me a safe space to find myself again with their amazing saunas, their amazing cold plunges and amazing community. I started journaling again. They gave me the opportunity to journal in the saunas. They gave me the opportunity to get deeper into my mind and get more comfort in the idea of being okay with myself. What I love about it, the community that other ship has brought me has really opened my mind that I don't need to go to the bars every night anymore. I could go and talk to people outside of a social community that required alcohol or party.
Starting point is 00:15:31 And I could go in there and feel healthy and talk to people and communicate. And that's one thing that othership has brought to my life that has changed my life. So if you're in the New York area, you should definitely try out othership. They got a great app, great community, and Toronto too. I know a lot of people listen to this podcast in Toronto too But I go every day and it has changed the way I perceived life It's changed the way I find happiness in the mundane parts of the day So go check out othership
Starting point is 00:16:05 I guarantee you you will not regret it All right back to the interview Have you been with a French person? No I was with I went We played in France and that was Americans. One of the most romantic
Starting point is 00:16:20 lovemaking I ever ever had in my life. The best part about it, we would make love and then after she'd roll me a cigarette in the bed. And we'd have coffee and I'd be rolling smoking cigarettes and my belly's out. I'm like, she didn't care.
Starting point is 00:16:38 That's the most friend thing I ever heard of us. We'd smoke cigarettes and talked about what it's like to be a musician. And then she shoot me on my way. Perfect. your favorite it was fucking awesome
Starting point is 00:16:50 that is like the most French thing I've maybe ever heard in my life but next thing you just see some Germans coming in the invading on the far distance out of the window you see you're like you're like boots going
Starting point is 00:16:58 exactly we surrender uh German I love Germans too I like everybody pretty much we're going we're going back to China I saw that dude
Starting point is 00:17:13 it's Macau right which is kind of like Vegas isn't it yeah have you played They asked me last minute, so I threw a fucking crazy number out there. I threw a number that I was like, oh? And they said yes.
Starting point is 00:17:29 They got the bag in China, huh? Or is it like an American company in China? It's Venetian Hotel in China. But they got the bag. Isn't Macau like Las Vegas, but even crazier? Yeah. So we're taking some of these boys who've never been to China ever in their life. Never been outside of America.
Starting point is 00:17:46 Dude, Cooney's going to be a god over there He's going to walk by some shop And there's going to be like an old drawing of him On a banner You know what I'm talking about? Like with a hat on He just looks like an Asian version of him He's like some ancient god of like
Starting point is 00:18:02 Verility or something The bear god Bear God I saw him go night Yeah, how is that? I seen Coenny happens Sam's been coming out You're basically just a trivia artist now
Starting point is 00:18:16 Yeah, that's fine. It pays better than music. I fucking bet. I bet you being a doorman pays more than music. It paid this. You want to hear a sad fact? Yes, please. About music and pay in the music business. Okay, so I played Red Rocks. I'm not going to say with who. Recently.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Who? And I worked at... Thievery Corporation. This isn't their fault, though. This is just how much they pay. I got paid the same of one... I got paid the same as one night working the door. I did for my Red Rocks gig. At Red Rocks?
Starting point is 00:18:54 But they pay pretty good at Yacht Club, to be fair. But still, isn't that great? I mean, that's such a reflection of the music industry, though, more than like... Speaking of a revolution, we need to have a music revolution. There we go, like the 60s. Did you hear my idea about what I pitched to Relics for us? No, I don't think I heard this. About doing a, like, you know, a barbershop type of TV show where me and you interview
Starting point is 00:19:18 five people one musician one manager one crew guy one booking agent and it's all different people and we fucking we call it everybody eats
Starting point is 00:19:31 or maybe like a journalist too or like a respected fan even like a journalist a fan we'd have to vet the fans a little bit that'd be fun to get one insane look in there though yeah we'll get Billy and like one of his insane fans
Starting point is 00:19:44 Cody we'll get Rick we get Rick from Goose in like one of the fucking femme flock girls or something. Oh my God. She's just staring at him. She was Elizabeth Holmes eyes. Just staring at him the whole time.
Starting point is 00:19:59 It was set. It was set three of your four day residency that I felt that the jams were a little different. What were you feeling that night? I don't know. I was hungry. Me and you were like, how much money you make? Yeah. So Rick, so tell me about your bank account.
Starting point is 00:20:17 What's going on? Yeah. Yeah. Your house is sick and I love your studio. Are you pretty liquid right now? Why would I deceive you? I don't know. I don't know. I... I know. You fall for stuff though.
Starting point is 00:20:30 I fall for girls with big eyes. Yeah. I like girls with crazy-ass eyes. There's a reason for that. Why? What is it? It's attached to a crazy-ass motherfucker. You know what. Oh, like the sex is crazy?
Starting point is 00:20:45 They bounce on it. Yeah. They bounce on a crazy style. Yeah. Front back, you know, all the different ways. Do you think it is, or is, I don't know? Do you think that's the thing with dudes, too? Can some women in the comments, please tell us if guys have crazy?
Starting point is 00:21:01 I heard there's a thing called jerk, jerk nails. Have you heard of jerk nails? No, tell me. It's like a thing I've seen online of women, like we have crazy eyes. They have a thing called jerk nails where it's a guy that has way too, like, manicured nails. They're like dickheads. jerk oh oh oh actually what are you thinking of something else
Starting point is 00:21:22 jerk nails yeah I felt like you know like just jerking off I didn't think about that that's funny uh yeah so it's like called like it kind of makes sense because they're probably like very like self-involved yeah what do you think you definitely know we don't have jerk nails I have like shitty I have gross nails but I jerk off mine are too I stopped I stopped jerking off
Starting point is 00:21:42 it's probably why you're in a better mood I think no I'm like I'm putting myself Your skin looks bad. You look way younger than last. You look like three or four years younger than the last time we did one of these. Isn't it crazy you stop doing drugs and all of a sudden you're healthy again? What? Wait,
Starting point is 00:22:01 you know what else I've been taken? I've been taking, you should take this, Nick, because you're an insomniac. I've been taking magnesium glycerine. Same. I have these little strips I put on my tongue. Dude, I sleep full now. I don't wake up groggy anymore. I better.
Starting point is 00:22:18 I definitely honks you a little bit, you know, so that's good. Okay, so this is what I'm thinking. You play into the pod. I can't hear you over the cheering. Hold on, hold on the cheering. Oh, sorry, sorry. Can you? Yeah, it's longer than the old one.
Starting point is 00:22:33 Okay, go ahead. You plan for the pot. So we're going to do like sidebar stuff. So it's going to be under all the same umbrella, World Saving podcast. Mm-hmm. Me and you will do our big interviews when we get the Portugal's, the stuff.
Starting point is 00:22:45 The hunter. But then we're going to do a sidebar interview where you interview whoever you want to interview and then I could do some solo things like Yeah, there's a jazz guy I want to have on
Starting point is 00:22:55 Yeah, like do it I think we just make this more feel like a network I'm going to change it not to saying Andy Fraz's World Saving Podcast It's just going to say World Saving Podcast And then our network
Starting point is 00:23:05 And then we fucking We push it out Yeah, yeah yeah It is a lot of words Andy Frasco's World Saving podcast I'm just kidding It's also you know I'm kidding dude
Starting point is 00:23:15 No, but like in retrospect, now that I'm sober, enough, sober-ish. Okay, yeah. I've been smoking weed again, dude. Sober-er. I know. I like smoking weed. I like Pot-Had-A-N-Dy. Pot-Head-Andy's like who you were when I first met you, if you remember.
Starting point is 00:23:29 Dude, I have- You remember that? Yes. I'm bad. You weren't doing blow at all. Blow's dirty and nasty. Say no to blow. It is. It is.
Starting point is 00:23:40 It is. It is. It is a real, it's bad for you. Yeah. I feel so much better. A little tooth-ke-old. every now and then, but don't let it take over your life. No, it should be like, uh, you know.
Starting point is 00:23:48 I feel so much better. Like, I feel healthier. Like, I feel healthier. Yeah. It really rips up your dopamine. Dude. Between that and all how much you jerk off, you had nothing left. You're like a big crater in Mexico.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Oh, man. They killed the dinosaurs. What's it called? I can't remember the one of them. You know what I've been thinking? Nick, you're totally right. Between the blow and the jerking off, I probably had nothing in me. That's why I was so sad.
Starting point is 00:24:12 And stage. You probably blow off a lot of, well, I don't know if that. gives you dope. I don't really know how that works. No, I think it was like I was reversing dopamine because I was not giving myself it. I was just giving the crowd it. Yeah, I interviewed Kanika. She was talking about how like you and other people get off stage and you're like immediately on your phone and we're like, yeah, they have to be like that. It's like, there's nothing left.
Starting point is 00:24:32 We're talking about in a positive way, not a negative way. We're saying like, yeah, it's actually good to do that. And you don't have to like, it's like you're at work. It's like on your lunch break. You don't like sit there and talk to everybody. You go off the side and read your French poems. All bad. Page four. Read me another one.
Starting point is 00:24:50 Povets palapant, Sous on me lave. Ooh. Jeboza do somemente seyu. What do you think I'm saying right now? I don't know. Let's try to do a French lesson here. Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:25:04 Pavrettes, palpitants, suma lever. Je, base, do sama seyuze. I can hear you typing. I know. I'm kidding. I thought doing that as a job. joke. I have no clue what that shit means. Her poor eyelids
Starting point is 00:25:20 fluttered under my lips as I kissed your eyes. How romantic is that? Now that's good. When you're talking about little boys' torsos, I'm kind of out. Yeah, me too. I already did Catholic school. I feel so bad because I had to do this China gig. I had to cancel on Bayless. I know. I was going to make a lot of money that week.
Starting point is 00:25:43 I was like, fuck! They're rescheduling it to... Oh, okay, cool. Next couple months. I was like, there goes Christmas. There goes Julie's Christmas present this year. I'm kidding. Well, now that we got money back in the...
Starting point is 00:25:53 I was getting stressed because, like, I'm taking six months off. I know. I got to, like, lock the fucking... I got to not spend... Jeremy Salk is my business manager right now. And he... The first week in New York, I was spending fucking money. Oh, he can see like your personal spending, too.
Starting point is 00:26:11 He has an alert every time I use my credit card. He's a little bit. He's like, Andy, why are you spending $500 at La Labo? I'm like, because I'm sad. Yeah, that's weird. I was going to say La Labo before you did. Yeah, the problem with Jeremy is he's never been sad before, so he doesn't get retail therapy.
Starting point is 00:26:29 He's just never, ever been sad in his life. Have you ever seen him? Dude, I've never seen him. Actually, I've seen him sad once. Jeremy, it's like every day time you hang out with him, it's like his first day in a new school. Yeah, it's true. Who's that?
Starting point is 00:26:45 It's so crazy. Cool, cool. You know what I mean? It's so crazy. Jeremy Salkins are business manager. He's killing. He's doing way better than these fucking business managers that take 4%. He's good at it.
Starting point is 00:26:57 He's so good at it. He's been doing it for years. He saved me so much. He's saved me so much money so far. He's probably saved me at least $50,000 so far. Holy shit. Well, somebody else will get that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Moving on. Exactly. La Labo. Labo. Lollabo. And Rolex. Um, you know, but, uh, yeah, I was, I was going to say something about, I'm cutting out back to the revolution first. Yeah. I'm cutting out anyone who's trying to take gross percentages besides booking agency. Well, they actually create value, so. Because they actually make money. But I'm talking. Manors, anything. They're not getting gross. They're not getting gross anymore. Anything that's not quantifiable. Lawyers aren't getting gross anymore. No one's getting gross. If no one's making money in the music industry, then. Everyone has to be on a profit share
Starting point is 00:27:48 And if you don't like it Quit being a manager Well someone's got to put their foot down For everyone else to start doing it That's true And I'm finally putting my foot down Like when Pearl Jam went up against Ticketmaster And then nothing changed
Starting point is 00:28:03 Yeah exactly Remember they did that It's like I'm going to put my foot down And everyone's like I'm put my foot down I was like Shut the fuck up Andy
Starting point is 00:28:14 You're 40 we'll just replace you. Yeah. Dale the C-Dubs will do it. We are back. We are fucking back. Weed Andy. Dude, I have a gig with a 9.30 load in on Sunday.
Starting point is 00:28:36 What do you think of that? 9.30 in the morning. I'm playing a brunch. It's like a special brunch thing it does. It'll be fun. Dude, Nick, you know what you need to do? You need to do the... You need to go play for the gospel church.
Starting point is 00:28:49 I know, but I just like, I'm not... I feel bad going there. I'm not religious. Neither is any of our homies who are doing it. I know, I don't like love it. It's like, I kind of did that back home. And I just feel bad. You can make a thousand bucks a night, a day.
Starting point is 00:29:02 You'd be done by 11. The horn players get paid less, but I just feel so bad, like, ethically doing that. I know it's weird and they don't care, but like, I do. I can't be like, I'm not religious. I'm atheist. I'm not. And then like, be like, I make gospel. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:29:19 You get it what I'm saying? Yeah. Also, they already have, they also have a full horn section already, so whatever. but I said that about the single I did with Keneke. I'm not a country Christian artist, but I'm writing. You're not thinking about Christianity, in it? No, but I'm taking country philosophy. Country philosophy is like just songwriting.
Starting point is 00:29:42 It's like, I don't know. Like, what's different about it? I like, oh, me and me and Keneke were talking about in the other interview how you guys are Dolly Parton and the new Dolly Parton Kenny Rogers. But you're Dolly. Dude, she's got a bigger dick than I do. She could beat the fuck out of you, dude. Honestly, before we, before we filmed all our music videos for this, we got in a little fight, and this is the first time I had,
Starting point is 00:30:09 I had to express my feelings about why I'm angry to her, and I was so scared to. What was the fight about? I'm trying to conceptualize, like, what you guys would have gotten a fight about. Well, I, I was flying everyone. in to Charleston to do this thing. And she was, and I, and now that I hear her side of it, I'm like, I get it. Like, everyone's trying to fucking have Kanika for everything.
Starting point is 00:30:35 But, you know, this is a personal, this is us. We've, this made our career, dance around my grave, made our careers, you know, like, made us who we are. That's true. So this is our next, next moment to just kind of grow it even more. And it's bigger and it's more involved. Yeah, so I guess I didn't say how important this. this music video is because I flew in Alleycrawl.
Starting point is 00:30:56 I flew in Quinn, our videographer. I flew in everyone so we can make a music video and yada yada and she almost had to bail on me to go to Baltimore last minute. And we communicated about it. I'm like, Keneke, like, we got to just be in this together. Like, this is our chance to really take this thing
Starting point is 00:31:13 to the next step. I like that about you. We are. So I don't take lightly that you've been working your ass off on this podcast. and when this check comes in, you will be compensated. Okay, I didn't ask for anything
Starting point is 00:31:27 just everybody listening knows, okay? No, but I'm saying that as we're in this together, Nicholas. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think I did a good job. It made me better at interviewing, which was good, interviewing without you. It's a lot of eating. When you first came in,
Starting point is 00:31:42 like sit on the chair when I was interviewing, I was intimidated. It takes a minute to fucking, well, it's the same thing you're saying. It made you a better interview by yourself. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I was really good by myself, and then it takes a little bit, it's just adjusting, you know? You're reversing the, you're reversing the roles.
Starting point is 00:32:00 Yeah, the one thing that helped is I had already been, like, doing a lot of research for the guest anyway, so, like, I already had that muscle. Yeah, I mean, you're, you help me, you're my, you're my, you're my, you're one of my brains. Who's your other brain? Cooney? Um, who is one of my other, oh, it used to be Beau, but we fired him. Oh, did you know that? No, that's been a while, I thought. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:24 I thought he quit, though, but whatever. It doesn't matter. Fired, quit, all the same shit. I think he got fired and he wasn't like, no. You know what I mean? Well, yeah, when I say fired. Yeah, he's working for the... He's working for the...
Starting point is 00:32:39 Yeah, when I say fired, it's more of like, if you're over it, let's just move on. And if you can't tell me... Yeah, they have a life span of bands. Yeah. Well, it's not even that. I think there is like a life span. You see very few bands that have like the same manager,
Starting point is 00:32:54 tour manager, like Umphreys does, but like, it's pretty normal to shuffle in and out tour managers every three or four years. Like, you know, you get burnt out seeing the same people every day and shit. Well,
Starting point is 00:33:04 also it's the hardest job. No one realizes how, that's the hardest fucking job on the planet. The fact that they make less than actual managers is insane. See? Yeah. Yeah. I know.
Starting point is 00:33:18 Just the workload of, like, think about like, not even Bo. Just think about anything. tour managers actual day on the road and compare it to I picked up my kid at daycare I checked four emails I didn't respond to one for three days I I have 15 bands that are all giving me 15 percent and I'm kind of doing a 30 percent job for all of them I'm not talking about anybody
Starting point is 00:33:39 specific year by the way if you think I'm talking about you that's on you um if you think if you think I'm making fun of you then there's something in the back of your mind I just like if you compare like the workload kind of a scam it is a scam remember I I forgot I said that in that interview and you've reposted it I'm like oh fuck
Starting point is 00:34:03 other gross thing yeah some of these managers are gonna fucking hear that but they need to hear it I mean no one said it public no one works on gross you said it public yeah I didn't make that clip by the way they didn't just cohab me on it no but like you were right I'm like I do know a lot about this industry
Starting point is 00:34:20 Yeah, you do. Yeah. That's like the thing I think you're best at, maybe. Yeah, that's why I'm taking the power back. That and reading French poems and pretty good singer, and you can sing us, write a song. Are you better song writer? That means I don't know.
Starting point is 00:34:37 That means I don't know. I know that. Genesee pa. You should just learn French, dude. Let's go on Duolingo and get good enough that we can do a whole podcast at another language. I love that idea. if you could be any
Starting point is 00:34:50 French like superhero or like French like historical figure Any French historical figure I mean let's go through some there's a Brie Antoinette
Starting point is 00:35:04 snobby bitch got killed for it but she does have the very funny one of the most famous quotes ever which is kind of badass where they're like the people don't have bread and she's so rich she goes let them eat cake that's kind of sick That's too sick
Starting point is 00:35:18 Napoleon's a badass, obviously Napoleon's a badass Lost at Waterloo but whatever Who else? Charles de Gaulle He got a whole ass airport named after him Yeah What was naming French historical figures The Pink Panther I was shit
Starting point is 00:35:36 I was thinking I thought Charlie Chaplin was French But he's he's British He's British yeah Who else is French I'm going to Google that Famous French people
Starting point is 00:35:54 Ratatoui Ratatoui great Yeah fictional people count For sure Napoleon Oh Joan of Arc She's a badass She's a bad bitch
Starting point is 00:36:03 She got burned at the steak She got burned at the steak for that shit Oh no shit You know King Louis Oh yeah he was a big I mean he's got cities In America named after him
Starting point is 00:36:12 Wasn't he a piece of shit though Yeah I mean any royalty From back then's a piece of shit but he's still famous. Ooh, what about Gustav Eiffel, the guy who, the Eiffel Tower. Oh, here we go. Now we got writers, Claude Monet. Fuck yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:26 Yeah, he's an artist, but yeah. Coco Chanel. I love Coco Chanel. Well, you might want to Google a little bit about her at the bottom of her Wikipedia before you say you love her, especially if you're Jewish. Oh, what she do? What she do? She kind of helped, she worked with the Nazis a little bit on some stuff, but I don't know
Starting point is 00:36:41 if it was because she wanted to or she'd like force her to. Hold on. Was that the girl? World War II. During World War II. Yeah, but the Enlorious Bastards, that actress, that played, was she playing Coco Chanel? No, Cocoa Chanel was like a fashion person.
Starting point is 00:36:56 I don't think that was a real person in Inglorious Bastards. Edith Piaf. What about Claude Debussy? One of my favorite, he's one of my favorite composers ever. Prilute in the Afternoon of Fame. Famous French musician, I'm going to put that. Prelude in the Afternoon. I'm all about French.
Starting point is 00:37:15 Ever since this revolution, I'm all about French. You should listen to French. Oh, Jacques Sbrel. I like Jacques Bresble. They have some cool, like, the French, the French used to death punk. Napoleon, King Louis, Claude Monet, Def Punk. There's got to be some shitty other pop artists, right? They make Eiffel 65. David Gouda.
Starting point is 00:37:37 David Guida. He's a DJ. DJ. He's like, oof, oaf, o'f. Pop icons. Francault. Charles Cheney? I don't know them.
Starting point is 00:37:49 Me either. I don't know a lot of these French people, to be honest. I mean, they're probably just a little naming people at this point. Ooh, Charles. French people have the best music. I love, like, a clarinet. They use the accordion better than anybody ever. Yeah, they do it better than the Italians do.
Starting point is 00:38:07 Yeah. They do food better than the Italians, too, but anybody won't say that. I don't want anyone to say that. You know why? Because of the butter. Oh, the butter. I had a French grandmother. Did you know that about me?
Starting point is 00:38:19 No. My grandma, my dad's mom is from France. You are a melting pot of white. Of just a pure, it's just this white, that white, and that white. All making the whitest thing that's ever. You're the most purebred white man I've ever met in my life. Yeah, it's not all one country, but it's all one race, baby. She was from Versailles.
Starting point is 00:38:39 Verraille. So that's why my dad's middle name is Andre. Isn't that funny? Wow, I didn't know that. Daniel Dre Daniel Dre I forgot about Dre Yeah I got a Scottish
Starting point is 00:38:52 An English An American And a French Grandparent Nice Anglo-Saxon bitch What are you gonna do today Oh yeah you're going to Baltimore
Starting point is 00:39:02 I'm gonna walk I got to I'm gonna go hang out I am I'm gonna go My friends invited me To they want to They want to show me around
Starting point is 00:39:13 My new area West Adius So you haven't moved there yet. I move in November 7th. Okay. But I didn't realize how, like, I've never rented before. That sounds really dumb. No, just I've never had an apartment.
Starting point is 00:39:31 And they were like, done the application thing. Yeah, it sounds like pretentious. I've never rented. But, you know, because I've always just, like, bought things for just like a real state thing, not like just to live in. So it's been kind of fun, like, picking a couch that I actually want to live in. I got a second bedroom for you. Yeah, the jerk pad.
Starting point is 00:39:56 Yeah, I can't wait to come there. Maybe in like, after your almond brother's store. Yeah. Christmas in New York. It's New York. Start spreading the news. I did it my way. Man, Todd Glass would be so pissed if I stole that song from him.
Starting point is 00:40:15 Oh, man. He's coming, uh, I think he's coming to Denver soon. I did, uh, show? I don't know. Some,
Starting point is 00:40:22 he's doing his, uh, his, his, his, musical thing. But I'm also coming to, I'm being Denver
Starting point is 00:40:28 one week a month. Yeah, you gotta come to Denver sometimes. I'm coming in one week a month. That's a lot for you. Yeah. I mean, I'm,
Starting point is 00:40:37 I mean, I'm, I got to make, I got to make a hundred, I got to write 100 songs in, by eight, by May.
Starting point is 00:40:45 What? yeah so i'm doing yeah i'm gonna write i'm going back to basics i'm going to write songs without but not like fully record them and shit just like have the like the like the like i'm gonna write a hundred songs then pick
Starting point is 00:41:01 yeah you know i'm only touring yeah i'm only touring in the summer oh that's gonna write a hundred songs and then in the fall I'm doing only 30 shows next year and then to do. How are they going to make money?
Starting point is 00:41:20 Those 30 shows pay for the year. Oh, it's like baller ass 30 shows. Yeah. We're talking quality, not quantity. Yeah, and then I could, then we're going to go in the cat. We're going to find a cabin in the woods in like Woodstock or Vermont and make a record. I've never made a record with the band before. I want to come and do that with you.
Starting point is 00:41:45 I'm not in the band. You want to come and write with me? You know me, I love writing. That's why. I'm not good at lyrics, but I like writing the music part. I need that. I'm going back to basics. I'm not going back to Nashville.
Starting point is 00:41:58 I'm going to go back to... That gets kind of played out. Everyone's doing that too, and it's making all music sound kind of homogenous. Yeah, a little sterile. Just everything's starting to sound the same. There's like eight guys writing everything. And I realized, like, my best stuff was when I just wrote it by myself. There's something to be said for that.
Starting point is 00:42:18 You got Cooney too And you got fucking I got Cooney, I got Ganser We got a whole fucking band Yeah We got I got You know Sam's really good at composing
Starting point is 00:42:29 Yeah He's not touching the fucking lyrics Is he scared to me We can edit this out No no Keep it in Keep it in Okay
Starting point is 00:42:39 Because he comes to trivia sometimes Is he just a nervous guy He always acts Like he's nervous To come talk to me You know why? No I told him that you were my number one call.
Starting point is 00:42:53 Yeah, but he's still in the band. I know, but I said if Nick, if Nick danced, he would have been in this band. Nick didn't say no, he would have been in this band. Remember when I pitched you when Ernie, we were... Dude, if I was doing the podcast and the band, though, we would hate each other, I think. I know.
Starting point is 00:43:10 I think it's like a very mature thing we did, because it would have watered down the podcast. I like sitting in I like play I'm up in when someone can do it but I also like don't think I could
Starting point is 00:43:22 tour like you guys do I mean not just like the partying and like I don't know man being around 10 other guys every day like I wonder if like you have the same thing
Starting point is 00:43:31 with this new band half the band doesn't party I do think it would be different I do have PTSD from that 2021 tour where I opened and that was you know what I mean
Starting point is 00:43:42 yeah that was hell dude or what about the fucking PTSD PTSD from the Europe tour Yeah, but the thing that That bounced that out was I was like in Europe And it was like cool And like you know what I mean
Starting point is 00:43:52 I wasn't in like Albuquerque Oh God that that that tour was so crazy The tour not the Europe one is fun It was hard but Europe's hard The other tour where you opened the whole tour That was a brutal thing And I think I just have that in my mind From Andy Frasco like tour like ugh
Starting point is 00:44:10 You know what I mean? Yeah yeah yeah And that would be like crazy Yeah Europe is Europe And then it's like Remember that one drive we did from Austin to Phoenix and the van couldn't go over 35 miles an hour. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:44:20 And it was so hot. It was like 95 degrees. And like we just, oh my, there's, I would rather, I think, be broken down than only be able to go 35.
Starting point is 00:44:27 It's like when you're in a dream and you can't run and you're like trying to run and you're like can't. That's one thing too without being all blowed out and fucking, I'm dreaming again. Those dreams like those slow molasses walking dreams are happening a lot. Do you have a recurring dreams? Yeah, I've been having these reoccurring dream with Billy strings in them.
Starting point is 00:44:52 It's weird. What's happening? I don't know. It's like we're just talking or he asks me to come sit in. I just can't make it to the show because I can't get there. I can't find my file in.
Starting point is 00:45:06 I can't find my file. I would sit in, but I can't find my fiddle anywhere. Speaking of fiddle, vote for... Where is my fiddle? Speaking of fiddle, vote for Allie Crawl for Baby of the Year. Oh, man. Man, she really wants to win that thing.
Starting point is 00:45:21 Her baby is so cute in that picture, though. He's like, it looks like he knows something. He's like, yeah, he does. He's like, I know something you don't know. Yeah, he's in the green room in the fucking Frasco green room, sucking tit while I'm smoking cigs outside. He watches me. Go get him, boys.
Starting point is 00:45:38 Yeah, well, he's like, you're taking me, you're taking, you're flying my mom and me out to fucking, a chima coffee, Illinois. And a nanny. and a nanae. I had to fly a nanny out. That's why I couldn't take her to China this year. I just couldn't.
Starting point is 00:45:55 She was 10 days. She wanted to. I'm like, it's probably not, I can't, we can't do that. I think she would want to. And then day three,
Starting point is 00:46:01 she'd be like, I miss my baba, miss my baby. Yeah. We brought her on a tour, the last tour, we brought her for five nights. She did good.
Starting point is 00:46:10 She slept in the bus. I mean, she's a bad bitch. It's not that. That's not that part of it. I think if it's like, probably wants to be around her child. I think she's also,
Starting point is 00:46:18 like getting, she loves her schedule. Like, she only has to do 30 shows with me. I only put her on the big stuff. She has a great life. And her husband's hot. She does. And her husband's hot. And her husband is so hot. He's so handsome, dude. Dude, he is so fucking handsome.
Starting point is 00:46:35 It's, like, annoying. And he's, like, cool and normal. He's very regulated emotionally. Yeah, it kind of pisses me off that he's so hot. Yeah, he's a good boy. You know what's crazy about New York? I women just come up to you and flirt with you
Starting point is 00:46:51 women come up to you and flirt with you I don't think of what happened to me No because I think there's just a lot It's, you never know Because I have swag It's like six to one women out here Damn, it's like nursing school It was like I'll be at a bar and someone would say
Starting point is 00:47:08 Hey what are you doing? Can I have a beer with you? I'm like, yeah, sure I'm very lonely in this place filled with people It's weird how lonely New York is Yeah and that's why I love it it. Like, I walk around, you know, I only get recognized maybe once or twice a day now, which is fucking awesome. Pretty good. I walk around just, I, Nick, I'm walking seven to eight miles a day. It's good for your body. You feel great afterwards, huh? I look, I look decent, right?
Starting point is 00:47:34 Yeah, you look healthier than last time. Oh, God. Yeah. To be fair, your best friend just died, so, like, you get a pass. Yeah. Rest of peace, Clark. We love you. Clark. I wonder how many musicians are on O-Zempic. I don't know. A lot of them are like already Cokehead skinny anyway. Should I go on OZempic? No, you're not fat enough. I'm not fat.
Starting point is 00:48:00 I feel a little chubby sometimes. There's a thing where people lose weight too fast on it and they get that Ozimic droop. Yeah. No, it's crazy. Ever since I stopped like drinking so much and doing blow and drinking all night, I lost 15 pounds.
Starting point is 00:48:15 Yeah, there's a lot of calories. and beer in a shot. Sugar. Beer is actually really bad for you. The best is like vodka soda, tequila soda. Yeah, and well, you know, because bars don't close
Starting point is 00:48:27 till 6 a.m. here, I'll just stay at the, when I'm blowed out, I'll just stay at the bars. If they're open until 6th, why do they even close? Some law. Some rules. Oh, it's like a thing. It's like a cabaret law.
Starting point is 00:48:38 You could open again at 8 or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, okay, that makes sense. That's crazy, though. All right. All right, I got to go. Yeah, I mean, we did it 55 minutes. We're running out of steam.
Starting point is 00:48:50 We're back. Guys, we're back. Nick, I got to applaud Nick one more time. While I was going through my sadness of Clark dying, he helped the fort down. Midwest. We're going north, sir. We're going north. Nick, thank you for fucking holding the fort down while Mr. Sadboy had to figure out who the fuck he was.
Starting point is 00:49:09 Now he knows who the fuck he is. Andy fucking Frasco. Can I just tell you one funny thing that we were talking about at Yacht Club? But what if I just showed up to trivia one week, which is full Botox, like insane celebrity. Like, where you like a cat? And then no one says anything about it. And that's what I use all this money from YouTube for.
Starting point is 00:49:27 Yeah, Nick got YouTube money and just injected it all in his face. We're also doing a Patreon. And you'll hear, don't worry, Nick, it's not just all about music. You're going to be in there, too. But if it is, I don't care, is my point. We'll figure out. But no, there's going to be, there's going to be podcast shit on there, too. It's just he said mainly focused on music.
Starting point is 00:49:45 The joke was he thought I'd be offended. I was like, have you met me? Yeah. Hold my beer. Yeah. All right. Love you guys. Goodbye.
