Starting point is 00:00:00 I think that Wetney thinks that she is a like Bethany-Frank style business shark and that she's just misunderstood. She keeps getting sober and then not getting sober. She keeps starting businesses that are failing. It's just like this repetitive sort of 16-year-old that you're like, you better figure it out before it's, you know, time to go to school. Otherwise, this might end in drug addiction. Welcome to Bad TV. I'm Pat. I'm Ruby.
Starting point is 00:01:05 Hi, Pat. How are you? I'm doing great. Kaelin's not here. And Dylan is taking some time off in enjoying the family. Did I get that right, Ruby? You certainly did. I would like to say I was part of that enjoyment for a few days.
Starting point is 00:01:21 And it was quite magical. Yeah, spending time with your dad, right? Yeah, everybody was on their best behavior. You know, we all got along. And I don't mean that facetiously. It was great. Yeah, you guys, your family dynamic, it's quite a duality. Your mom is a Jewish woman that works in the entertainment industry,
Starting point is 00:01:45 and your dad is a gun-toting normie that lives up in the hills. Yeah, Normie is loose, but I would say, those are accurate descriptions of them both, you know? Mm-hmm. All right, well, we're here to talk about Salt Lake City. By the way, we will be back in person this week to cover everything you love. Traders, Love is Blind, Boston, Real Housewives of Orange County, below deck, the new season. I've watched the episode, the first episode.
Starting point is 00:02:17 It just gets you right into it. It's going to be an amazing season. we have already some characters, but you'll be there for it. Anyway, Salt Lake City. Ruby, why don't you give us your wives out of the gate here? What was your thoughts on the, what was your wives rating on this episode? Wives for the actual housewives are very, very high. I hated the editing of this.
Starting point is 00:02:46 I listened to part of it because I was in a different room when this started. I was annoyed that I had to come back and say, like, I don't want to be required to pay attention to what we're flashing back to. Then we're having conversations about what happened. And we seem to have the footage of what took place, but we won't show it. I'm back on the plane like last season. If this is going to be a massive thing that we talk about for three episodes, but we never get to see miss me with it. Okay. that aside, I love watching.
Starting point is 00:03:23 I could watch a big brother 24-hour style camera of each of these women, mainly Lisa lining her lips for three and a half hours. Brittany, again, I'll do it as much as I want. Exactly. She's 13 years old. She's being targeted. She's going to double down. I collectively between the two wasn't my favorite.
Starting point is 00:03:43 No, I would also watch them watch paint dry. So I'm going to go 88 wives. Yeah, it's a great season. And to address the first part of your wives, I believe you were referring to the who said what and when. And they did do some decent cutbacks to what Kauai said about each individual cast member. And truth be told, what took place was a lot of, I guess it would be Kaui being goaded into a conversation that she did not start.
Starting point is 00:04:19 So Bronwyn would say, Meredith Marks can be quite a bitch on fire. What do you think, Kauai? And Kaui would say, well, I kind of agree with that. Yeah, she can be a scary person. And then Bronwyn would go and say, you know, Kau had quite a few things to say about Meredith Marks. And so two things can be true or once. Yes, Kauai did say things about Meredith Marks, but she was brought into the conversation
Starting point is 00:04:46 and asks about her thoughts on it. So there was quite a bit of that taking place. And yeah, so hopefully Andy at the end of the season, when they do a five-part reunion on this, does go, hey, Bronwyn, don't you think you kind of pulled her into that conversation? But he won't do that because he's a puss bag. Wow. Yeah, no, he won't at all.
Starting point is 00:05:09 And neither will any of them, because I don't think they're as observant as that. But, yeah, I agree. That's a very, very good point. Okay, I'm going to center my wives on Mary Cosby, and I know probably the little patties and the baddies are sick and me talking about this. But I have a theory that Mary Cosby is going to be used very sparsely this season. So, excuse the very, very old cultural reference here. But there was a show way before you were born called Three's Company. And in that show, there were three main cast members.
Starting point is 00:05:46 Jack Tripper, Chrissy, and Jan. And the actress that played Chrissy was a woman called Suzanne Summers. And after about season one or two, she said,
Starting point is 00:05:59 hey, why am I not getting paid as much as the actor John Ritter, who plays Jack Tripper? And the network said, sweetie, it's because you're a woman
Starting point is 00:06:09 or something. She said, well, you know what, fuck you, because I'm doing just a good job as him. Anyway,
Starting point is 00:06:14 they had a, a disagreement. And somehow, they ended up for contractual reasons saying, you know, you still have to do the show, and we'll ruin you if you don't abide by your contract or something like that. So at the end of every single episode for an entire season, she would show up in the credits for 20 seconds, calling the other two cast members to check in.
Starting point is 00:06:39 It was the most bizarre thing watching it as a little kid. Wow. Yeah. So if you notice, Mary Cosby is just doing check-ins with Angie. She's literally just catching in, catching up with the action. And that's exactly where I want her with this season. I don't want her near this cast. Forgive me for being a jerk. I love the episode. I'm going to give it 32 wives. Great. And I just want to say, can I take it a step further? Don't check in. Don't. Go. Go completely. the zany hilarious sort of like little girl we i don't know that we're getting that ever again and even if we do it's too riddled with uh the sirens are on point it's too riddled with crime and sadness now for me to really enjoy her zaniness so i think i'm okay sort of um blessing her on her way hopefully she doesn't uh hurt more people with her cult that has again as you and i have both
Starting point is 00:07:39 shared uh caused a lot of pain for a lot of people and um 32 wives. Here we go. 32 wives. All right. Let's kick it off. We're in San Francisco. The city of many names. The city by the bay, the city of love, the city of gray. I know it by only one name. The city that hates people from Los Angeles. Ruby, I don't know how much you've spent time in San Francisco, but there is a clear disdain for people from Los Angeles that visit up there. They smell it on us when we go up there. It makes sense. We're from the same state, but we're geographically so far away from them. We're the entertainment business people. They're the tech people.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Have you ever noticed that? Yeah. I can also say perhaps I contribute to this because San Francisco is the one place in this country aside from like for safety reasons. I guess there are a few places I couldn't live, but for just and I guess you know San Francisco might be one of them depending on who you ask. It's literally the one place I won't live. Been there repeatedly. Been there with people from there. Been there with people who live there. I really don't mean to insult anybody, and I'm sure people feel this way about New York and L.A., both of the cities from which I dwell. Hate, hate, hate, freezing cold all the time, whatever the Mark Twain quote is.
Starting point is 00:08:56 The Marine layer burns off at 2.30, then it's just gray. It's sad. The outdoor activities unparalleled. Get up there and then get right back down, in my opinion. Also, okay, you got this beautiful bay. who wants to stare at a fucking prison? Right. Ding, ding, Pat.
Starting point is 00:09:19 I agree. So good job on real estate with Ruby and Pat this week, and you can tune in for more later. Well, we're going to have a Netflix show. Great. On real estate, yeah. We're going to have one of Mo's daughters co-hosts with us. All right, well, Bronwyn calls her mom, Muzzy,
Starting point is 00:09:35 and she shows off the hotel, and it turns out they're waiting on her hand and foot. They're providing her with as many Dr. Pepper, she can drink. And I'd like to tell Bronwyn, because she's been rich way too long to kind of not understand this. They love how you think you love them. But they really love running gout balls as Amex card over and over again. That's what they really love. They don't love you.
Starting point is 00:10:01 No, they don't at all. But thank you. Down in Utah, the guys and I dig a city called Solace. Grooviest kids, that's why we never get. It.
