Starting point is 00:01:33 We always say that trust your girlfriends. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, everyone? I'm Ago Vodam. My next guest, it's Will Ferrell. My dad gave me the best advice ever.
Starting point is 00:01:59 He goes, just give it a shot. But if you ever reach a point, where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be.
Starting point is 00:02:18 Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, I'm Kristen Davis, and I want to know, are you a Charlotte? Hi, everybody. We are back for part two with Megan Trainer. We are talking about episode 406, Baby Talk is Cheap. We're going to discuss it some more with the fantastic Megan Trainer.
Starting point is 00:02:49 All right. So this is called Baby Talk is cheap. And it's interesting because basically the basic premise is do actions speak louder than words and relationships? And I think they do. What do you think? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:01 People can talk and talk and talk. It doesn't mean anything, really. Yeah. I mean, it's interesting to have a conversation, right? Yeah. But really you have to see what they're going to do. Yeah, because then you build resentment. And I had this with my husband over Christmas.
Starting point is 00:03:15 Like, over one, every year he would go, I'm going to be better at Christmas, I promise, with helping me wrap all the gifts. Oh. And he didn't for three years straight. And I was like, you talk a big talk, my dude. But like, when are you going to start helping me? And then this year he finally did. Oh, I'm so glad. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:03:30 You're so hot. Can I tell you there's going to be a day where your kids are going to help you? and it's going to be awesome. Yeah. My older helps me wrap for my younger. And what a relief. That's so nice. Because as a single parent for Christmas,
Starting point is 00:03:43 man, it's so stress. Yeah. Like even with my husband, we were up to like two buildings. I know. And then you're exhausted for Christmas. Yeah. It's hard.
Starting point is 00:03:50 And they're like up at five. I know. But my older gets pretty excited about it. You know, which is really nice. So she's down there like, you know, trying to help out. It's so cute. But I'm glad that he stepped up
Starting point is 00:04:02 and wrapped some presents. That's a really good. That's really good. Okay. So this is when we're, this is when we're trying to make an email. Yep. Carrie.
Starting point is 00:04:12 Carrie is trying to write her first email, you guys. It's 2001. This is what my generation lived through. A life before email and a life after email. It's hard to even remember this. But it's insane to think about. Not to mention text. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:28 Not to mention dating apps. Not to mention all of it. Right. Like Google was new. Crazy. Crazy. Email was new. You know, Carrie's like, I don't understand.
Starting point is 00:04:38 She gets on the computer and it says that Aden's online and she ducks because she thinks he might be able to see her. Yeah. It is the cutest. AIM. This is like AIM or like instant messaging. Instant messaging. I was like, she can see he's on his email? Like what?
Starting point is 00:04:52 Right. Because it would alert like, yeah. Yeah. The olden days. I remember being in my house. I bought a house after the first season of the show. And it was dial up time, right? And I remember buying my computer and plugging it in.
Starting point is 00:05:09 And you would just sit there and try and it would be like, like a fax machine. Like it would make the crazy noise. And you'd just be like, please, please work. And I would just be sitting there for hours. Like, who can I call to make this work? Because someone would be trying to send me something like some agent or somebody would say, like I'm going to send you X, where Z.
Starting point is 00:05:27 And you'd just be trying like, please. Let the Internet gods help me. Yeah. And I know it was crazy. down and now it's all so second nature. Yeah. And we don't know what we would do without it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:38 My manager's like right now. She's trapped in her emails. They all are. Everybody is. Yep. I know. I know. And I mean, I get it.
Starting point is 00:05:46 But then also like part of me I just feel like let's leave our computers behind and go out into the woods. I always yell at my manager's like, will you go home? Like it is 7.30. It's hard. I know. But they have to work hard. Everybody has to work hard.
Starting point is 00:05:59 There's no real hours anymore either. That's what the. the computer did. Big time, big time. I know, and our phones, not to mention the actual computer. So anyway, Carrie,
Starting point is 00:06:09 Carrie's calling Aiden. He doesn't pick up. She leaves a message. She hangs up. She hangs up. And then I make her go, Charlotte makes her go to the African dance class.
Starting point is 00:06:17 I loved it. It was really cute. It was so cute. And anytime we had any dancing, even if it was like a casual something, we would have this choreographer come in because Sarah and I are so anxious about any dancing. Yeah, so we had a choreographer.
Starting point is 00:06:31 Thank you. Thank you. You guys were trying so, you were trying so hard. I was trying because that Charlotte, right? Charlotte tries everything so hard. Carrie's like just going to hop up and down. She's adorable though. She's got a thing on her head.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Like, I mean, that I do remember. So I have like just little visions in my memory of the real life, but I don't remember the storylines, right? Like I couldn't have told you. I remember African dancing, but I couldn't have told you what we were talking about. You know what I'm saying? But I remember it was really fun. It was really, really fun.
Starting point is 00:06:56 It was fun. They start, there's like a phase where at one phase I go tap dancing. Charlotte tap dances. I had to learn that. Like Charlotte plays tennis. I had to learn that. Like there's a lot of things Charlotte likes to do that I had to learn. But it was a good time.
Starting point is 00:07:11 You know what I mean? It's part of the fun of being an actor, right? Oh, oh. And then we're talking about the internet. And I just say, I say that they're shopping. And Carrie's like, no, shopping is my cardio. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was the best friend line.
Starting point is 00:07:25 It was really good. It was so good and so true. No, no, no. That's my cardio. Right. But little does she know. whole world is about to open up to us. About to click.
Starting point is 00:07:34 Can shop 24-7. Insane. So it's a problem. Very, very dangerous. Very, very dangerous. And then she writes, she writes the email to Aden and it really reminded me of what comes later in our lives of, and just like that when she's sending him the heart postcards. It's funny because like back in the old, we have the whole throwing the pebbles at the window,
Starting point is 00:07:56 which also comes back later. And then they're writing each other. she writes him an email that she obsesses over, but all she writes says, I miss you. But then later on, she's going to do, when they're apart,
Starting point is 00:08:07 she's going to do little postcards where she just puts a heart and mails it. Like they have certain through lines that I think are so sweet. So sweet. I know. Couldn't work out. It's sad.
Starting point is 00:08:21 And then, so she's stressing. But I like to see Carrie stressing about Aiden more than I'd like to see her stressing about big. Yeah. somehow it's she needs to earn it you know I feel like she needs to earn
Starting point is 00:08:33 his attention again you know and she does which is great because I do also think when I watch them their chemistry is so great so good so good yeah those are two actors when they work together I'm like they're very much in love and I'm like oh they're acting
Starting point is 00:08:49 no but I mean yeah it's incredible yeah right they're not they're not they were in other things you know Sarah was married to Matthew but they really work. They really work. And they're good friends, which is nice in life.
Starting point is 00:09:02 Like, it was always a great working relationship. So this is when we decide that we would like to have a baby, but then we have this group of people that we've never seen before, but that I run into shopping, which is kind of funny
Starting point is 00:09:13 that have the three kids that are like a handful. And Charlotte breaks my heart every time because that's what I feel like when I see other people with, like, everything and you're like, yeah, I'm also like totally perfect. And we're great. And you should come over.
Starting point is 00:09:26 And nothing's hard. And we got that. And I'm like, oh, that pressure. Yeah. I think that's the worst. I think that's why I'm more vulnerable and honest being like, we're falling apart, you know? I think that's true. We need so help me, you know?
Starting point is 00:09:37 No, I think that's great because I think that the facade and trying to keep up the facade is exhausting. And that's what Instagram is. And it's too hard. Exactly. I agree. I'm telling you right now, I do not post the hard stuff. And one week, we had strep throat while shooting a music video. I had the strep throat while my son had a crazy infection.
Starting point is 00:09:54 And my other son had diarrhea and pink eye. Oh my God. And it was a mess. And I was just like, could we have a break? No, that's the reality. Yeah, that's fully the reality. Yeah. One time when my daughter was little, I was going to be a judge on Project Runway.
Starting point is 00:10:07 And I was excited to do it. I was like, you know, she was teething and whatever. So the night before I had to go, I was up all night. She was laying on me, you know, when they have to lay on you to go back to sleep. And I went and talking about comments. I remember seeing a comment. I don't know if it was social media or whatever. I don't know what time that was.
Starting point is 00:10:25 but and it said because my eyes were looked a little crazy and they were like wow I didn't know Kristen had a crazy eye and I was like but I was up all night with my toddler like laying on me yeah but you can't yeah they don't know yeah you're like you're like you're like you're like we're like we're like we're like we're like we're like we're yeah because it's important to say stuff like that though I think that's really working mom's refreshing yeah because the facade is nonsense yeah and I don't know how or why people try to keep it up. Yeah. You know? I mean, my thing is I don't put my kids on there just because I want to protect them
Starting point is 00:11:03 because I've watched some of my friends with the stuff and I feel worried. But if I did, I would want to put the real thing. But I don't. But then I, you know, whatever. So I don't put anything. But I don't know if that,
Starting point is 00:11:14 like sometimes I don't even know if my followers know I have kids. I have no idea. Yeah. A win is a win. A win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep.
Starting point is 00:11:27 That's me. Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media. Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined. And now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show. This is a place for raw, unfiltered conversations with some of your favorite athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard, but celebrated. One week, I'll take you behind the scenes of the biggest moments in sports and entertainment. And the next, we'll talk about life, mental health, personal health, personal health, personal.
Starting point is 00:11:59 purpose and even music. The Clifford Show isn't just a podcast. It's a space for honest conversations, stories that don't always get told, and for people who are chasing something bigger. So if you've ever supported me or you're just chasing down a dream, this is right where you need to be.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Listen to the Clifford show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok. There's two golden rules that any man should live by. Rule one, never mess with a country girl. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never mess with her friends either. We always say that trust your girlfriends.
Starting point is 00:12:45 I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of The Girlfriends, Oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist. I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care. So they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed. I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves.
Starting point is 00:13:13 Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. This week on the Sports Slice podcast, it's all about the NFL draft. And we've got a special guest. The director of the NFL's East West Shrine Bowl,
Starting point is 00:13:34 Eric Galko, joins the Sports Slice. podcast to break down what really matters when evaluating draft prospects. From hidden traits teams look for to the biggest mistakes franchises make to the players flying under the radar. This is the insight you won't hear anywhere else. If you want to understand the draft like an insider, you don't want to miss this episode. Listen to the Sports Slice Podcast on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Slical Life 12 and TikTok podcast network on TikTok. In 2023, former bachelor star Clayton Eckerd found himself at the center of a paternity scandal.
Starting point is 00:14:12 The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth. You doctored this particular test twice in so much, correct? I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case. I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for. Some lights the greatest disinfected. They would uncover a disturbing pattern.
Starting point is 00:14:38 Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg, a lesbian, Michael Marantini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trap. Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences. Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news at Americopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges.
Starting point is 00:15:00 This isn't over until justice is served in Arizona. Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's interesting the tray of it all because I can't tell if he really wants the kids because he's so. Yeah, I can't tell either. Right? He's so kind of like veiled. Like he doesn't seem excited really. Not like Charlotte is.
Starting point is 00:15:32 Right? And I think that's also why I. And then we get, we don't have sex after the people come over with the kids, which I do understand. And then I ordered this rattle, which I remember this part. And it's kind of sad, you know. But then he's kind of sweet about it. Yeah. Like he forgot.
Starting point is 00:15:51 He ordered this rattle. And then he writes this incredibly sweet thing about, you know, we had each other. Then we had you. And then we had everything. Yeah, no. He goes back and forth from me a lot. So I'm like, I forgive you. You're perfect.
Starting point is 00:16:06 And I'm like, what are you doing? Yeah. Right. So they're really sweet. and that episode just made me really sad for Charlotte because I was craving kids you know, I know that feeling and a lot of people don't have that feeling at all
Starting point is 00:16:18 and then I think about couples who are madly in love and one really wants kids and one really doesn't. And it's like how do you even go anywhere from there? I don't know how you go anywhere from there because I feel like wanting kids or not wanting kids is like a sacred thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:34 And you shouldn't try to push anybody but I feel like when I watch with Trey because intellectually I know well he didn't really you know, because he doesn't hang in there, right? So we know that he didn't really. But also he can't, even when he's saying super sweet things, you don't get a feeling, his feelings don't come out. Which I think is also partly why Harry is so much better for Charlotte,
Starting point is 00:16:54 which we haven't gotten to yet. But, you know, he's a good soul. You know how he feels. You know, it's present. It's vivid. Whereas Trey just talks about it. And Charlotte is always in this wondering kind of a, does he mean it?
Starting point is 00:17:07 You know, sad. It's kind of sad. You played that so well. Thank you. I feel like I also was in that state of like what's happening. What does he want? Like it was all very relatable. Not in real life with Kyle, obviously, but like the not knowing.
Starting point is 00:17:27 I feel like that was the time of life where like I didn't really know what I wanted either. And Charlotte wanted what she wanted, but it was kind of like this mirage. It wasn't really like a real visceral. And she was trying, I feel like she was trying to. rejected on a tray. Yeah. And it didn't really work, but I think that's also so relatable. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:44 People do this all the time. Yeah. You know? Yeah. It's hard. It's hard to know. And then we have this crazy baby talk situation with Samantha. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:17:53 It was so good. Is it? Yeah. It's hilarious. Is it? Every part of Samantha scenes are hilarious where she was talking about the fake nipples and like having them out and seeing if it works. I have forgotten about that.
Starting point is 00:18:04 When she starts making out with the guy and those were real things. Yep. Stop it. Yes. When she starts making out with the guy and I'm like, what's she going to do with the nipples? And she reaches in like, like it was choreographed, dude. Like I want to know how she planned that scene out. Just so smoothly and was like, boom, bam, I'm here.
Starting point is 00:18:23 That's true. It was great. It was smooth. You're absolutely right. It was smooth. But also it's funny because I remember that they were real and that we were all like, what on earth? Like, you know what I mean? But like when Miranda puts them on and walks to the bird, like it's quite something.
Starting point is 00:18:37 They're gorgeous. Yeah. I know it's weird though. It's kind of odd. And I don't know what happened to them. Like that was a thing you could buy. That's crazy. I know.
Starting point is 00:18:45 I know. And I remember we, I feel like the lady who came up with the idea and marketed it like came to the set. And we chatted with her. We were all kind of like. I think so. But it was also really odd to, you mean,
Starting point is 00:18:59 like really odd. Congrats on your nipple invention. Really odd, right? But like when they put them on, it looks quite amazing. I don't think I would want to walk around like that though. Oh, yeah. So I'm like every day, especially since my boob job, I can't feel really well around there, which is so sad.
Starting point is 00:19:17 So I'm always like, we got to cover these up in case they're popping and I don't even know, you know. Totally. That's interesting. It's very interesting. I've never had a boob job, contrary to whatever people say online. I have no idea. Like they think of had boob job. I don't even know.
Starting point is 00:19:32 But I've never had a boob job. But it would be strange not to be able to feel. I don't like it. Do you think it'll come back? prevented it by like massaging it. So now I'm sad. But will it come back? I hope so.
Starting point is 00:19:42 A lot of like people who worked with me after like PT or lymphatic drainage are like, oh no. And I'm like, you look worried. But I'll figure it out. I feel like the nerves can grow back. I don't know for sure. We should find out. We should find out. Let's find out.
Starting point is 00:19:57 Someone right into us. Help on. Okay. And then wait. Now we're to Miranda. Man, I'd fully, fully forgotten about this storyline. And also, isn't that actor? little bit odd.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Yeah. The running guy? Yeah. The whole thing was all odd. It's kind of odd. This is so Miranda. It's very, very, very, Miranda.
Starting point is 00:20:15 She's so adorable when she goes to run. I know. What is that? The way she runs too. I don't know. I think that is, I think she's trying to look like professional dirtyy mean. So cute.
Starting point is 00:20:26 Because I don't think she's really a runner, right? Because previously we haven't really seen Miranda. Like Charlotte's always the one who's running. And I would always try to really run. Like right or whatever. Yeah. You were an athlete. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:37 Not really, but thank you. She's so cute, though. She's so cute. And then she meets this guy and he says like, oh, we should run together and she doesn't know if it means anything. And then they're at home having sex because, of course, back in the olden days, everyone just like went home and had sex really quickly. I know. It seems like, I know. It's interesting, right?
Starting point is 00:20:54 She's stinky. I didn't enter my mind, but I know exactly what you're saying. But it didn't even enter my mind. Oh, her sweating after the merit, running a man on? Didn't enter my mind. Didn't not enter my mind. You didn't think about it when he was going down on her. butt and you're like,
Starting point is 00:21:07 stinky sweat butt. 100% did not enter my mind. We call that swath. That's gross. That's really gross. Yeah. And then he licked it up. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:21:16 I didn't even enter my mind. But I did think, I'll tell you what I did think about. So then we have the scene where she asks us about it, where Miranda is like throwing it out to all of us. Like, is that weird? And Charlotte, who am I, Charlotte. And I'm like, well, you know, we do it. And everyone's like, what? I remember people have talked to me about that.
Starting point is 00:21:36 over the years occasionally, they'll be like, oh, remember that time when Charlotte was like, yeah. And I was like, no, I don't really remember that. You know, so he's kind of embarrassing. It was shocking because, like, everyone went up. And it was about, because he wanted her to eat his butt. In the end, yeah. In the end.
Starting point is 00:21:50 Yeah, and she does not want to want to do it. Right. Which I haven't participated in either. And I don't think men are very hairy. Well, I can't even think about it. And dirty. So, yeah, but the best was sweet Charlotte at the end being like, well, yeah, I do everything
Starting point is 00:22:08 because I just want to be the best at everything. And so, of course I would. I know, I know. I do like it when we throw a little curved ball. Yeah. You know what I mean? We're like, oh, of course you would. I think it's good. I think it's good because it is surprising
Starting point is 00:22:19 and I love it when the girls are surprised. That's great writing. I agree. I agree totally. I agree totally. So, wait, did we cover the Aiden and the end? The end was so good with Aiden. Even like the DP, who is now the director.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Yes. For folks at home watching, not knowing what a DP is, because I had a lot of music videos. Director of photography. Director of photography. So they, like, make everything visually so pleasing. Right. Down to lighting, down to what camera, what lens. Yep.
Starting point is 00:22:46 So for that person to go to director to, like, that makes so much sense because I remember when she flies to the door, like, the way her fabric literally is flying, she looks like a fairy princess. Yeah. To go get her man, the man of her dreams. And, like, the door opens and she jumps. And I was like, please jump, jump, jump, jump, jump. Slomo is so good. So magic. So mo.
Starting point is 00:23:07 Yeah. So much. But also when she first sees him. The lighting in general is really good. Yes. And I do feel like when you get a DP who then wants to direct, they're going to come to things visually, you know, first, right? That's so nice. Their strong storytelling.
Starting point is 00:23:23 Yeah. And it's really, really good. It's really, really good. I did really like it. It did really like it. A win is a win. A win. A win is a win.
Starting point is 00:23:37 I don't care what I'm saying. Yep. That's me, Cliver Taylor the fourth.
