Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello and good afternoon, my lovely, lovely friends. Hope you're all doing fantastic today. I'm a slight bit congested. I don't know if you could tell. I can feel it. I can't really hear it, though, which is interesting. Mostly congested because I left the windows open, because the weather here has just been gorgeous,
Starting point is 00:00:20 and by here, I mean Minnesota. As a lot of you know if you've been listening, I moved from Kansas to Minnesota this past couple months. Past few months ago. past a few months ago, that's not really a way to say that. Anyways, moved from Kansas to Minnesota, and one of the biggest reasons is weather, because starting at the middle of August up here in southern Minnesota,
Starting point is 00:00:42 it starts to cool down really fast, so fast that overnight last night, the temperature was 49 degrees Fahrenheit. For those that use the metric system, that's around 9.4 Celsius. It's very, very chilly here, which is so lovely, because down in Kansas, further south, it's not.
Starting point is 00:01:03 Okay, I just looked it up, and I guess I lied a little bit. It actually is still pretty chilly down in Kansas. It's currently 52 down there. But this week it's going to hit the 80s again down there, and this week here the high is going to be 73 the entire week, I think, which is around 22.7 Celsius for those that, again, use the metric system. My point here is, I love this weather. We're creeping very quickly into that,
Starting point is 00:01:28 weather and I am here for it. Anyways, today we have some glitch stories. That was just a fun intro. I just wanted to talk to you all about this because I love the weather here. I'm very happy. I think that's what I wanted to portray because I love this weather. I love the fall. The fall is where I'm at, yo.
Starting point is 00:01:46 My brain is in autumn at all times, I swear. Enjoy the glitch stories. Have a great day. Talk to again soon. Bye. I have a strange story that I've been thinking about submitting for a little a while. And then when you did your community post asking for stories, I figured now was the time. Hopefully you get enough stories to keep making awesome videos, as I don't think I could get through
Starting point is 00:02:19 my day without listening to your voice. That's not me trying to flatter you. That's just me saying that I need the strange and scary stories that you do to get me through my incredibly boring job. Sorry, let's get on to my story. I want to start by saying that, much like, other people that send in their stories. This whole thing does make me feel like I'm crazy, but I swear on everything that had happened, and it still chills me to the core when I think about it. It was back in the summer of 2018, I think. My dad, bless his heart, is a bit of a Luddite. He uses his phone for phone calls and to send about a dozen texts a week. The most complex thing he does with it is his email to his old army buddies every once in a while and that's about it.
Starting point is 00:03:11 He uses paper maps and directions that he prints from Google Maps on his computer. He used to use MapQuest printouts, but he has since upgraded. Because of what he does for work, he does a lot of driving to and from certain places, and he ends up in places where there isn't much in ways of cell signal. So he likes to keep things basic. He and I are very close. and since my mom passed away back in 2015, we have always made sure to keep in touch,
Starting point is 00:03:41 and when he drove to a job, he would always let me know when he left home and when he got to the location. On this particular day, he was on a long drive heading back to his house from a job site, way out past the state forest. For context, this stretch of highway was known for having pretty much no cell signal for about 35 to 40 minutes along the stretch.
Starting point is 00:04:05 You drive through it, and your cell phone becomes an expensive brick. And then, when you get closer to civilization, it all comes back through. Now, that was back in 2018-ish, so it may be different now, but back then it was a pain. I was at home probably doing something mindless, as I usually did when I wasn't in class or working, when my phone rang. I glanced at the screen and saw that it was my dad. My first thought was, huh, he must have been speeding because there's no way he's gotten home yet. In fact, based on the time, I assumed that he would have been in the dead zone.
Starting point is 00:04:47 I answered with the normal, hey dad, what's up? What I heard on the other end was not my dad, though. Not clearly, anyway. It was like his voice but heavily distorted, like he was talking through a broken speaker. There was a low guttural hum underneath it, too, and the connection was terrible. Crackling in and out? But the call did stay connected.
Starting point is 00:05:15 I said hello again, a little louder, thinking he had called me before he got service back. And then through the static, I heard some garbled sounds, but was able to make out a very faint... Hey, where are you? But what was weird was that it wasn't my dad's voice. It was my... voice. It was bizarre because I hadn't said that, so I knew it wasn't like an audio echo or something like that. I then asked, Dad, are you there? Are you okay? Getting a bit concerned about whatever this call was. Then I heard another sound, something that sounded like my voice once again, but this time it
Starting point is 00:05:56 said, happy birthday, in an excited tone. That was really freaky because again, it was my voice. and it was nowhere near either one of our birthdays. At that point the call hung up and my phone seriously just rebooted. The screen went black, and then the Samsung logo popped back up on the screen like I had held the power button and turned it off and then on again. When my phone finally booted back up, I tried to call my dad back, but it went straight to voicemail.
Starting point is 00:06:30 I tried again, but same thing. I was panicking a little bit, but was thinking that maybe it was just a tech glitch or something, but that really didn't explain why I had heard my own voice, saying happy birthday or where are you? I took a few deep breaths and just figured that he would call me as soon as he could. About 30 minutes later, I was actually surprised when my dad pulled into my driveway. He jumped out of his car and made his way to my door looking frantic.
Starting point is 00:07:01 I met him at the door and he was hugging me, asking me if I was. was okay and what was wrong. I told him that I was fine, that nothing was wrong, and I asked him what he was talking about. This is where things got even more freaky. Apparently 30 minutes prior to him pulling up, at the exact time that I got that garbled call where I heard my own voice and the static, he had gotten a call from me. He said that he had answered and all I could hear was the static, but then he heard the sound of me bawling my eyes out.
Starting point is 00:07:37 He heard me crying really hard, and I wouldn't respond to anything he was saying. I was just crying. I told him that I hadn't called him, that he had called me, that I got a call and could hear myself talking in the background. We talked about this for a few moments, and we actually checked our calls to show each other the call logs.
Starting point is 00:08:00 What was crazy was that both phones had an incoming and outgoing call at the exact same time. Like we had both called each other at that same time and gotten a call at the same time. So we were both technically correct. We had somehow called each other and gotten calls from the other person at the same time, but neither of us had actually made a phone call.
Starting point is 00:08:26 We both were pretty freaked out about the whole thing, trying to figure out what the hell was going on, but we had nothing. He couldn't remember if his phone had rebooted after the call ended because he was freaking out thinking something terrible had happened, so when it hung up, he tossed his phone into the cup holder and wasn't paying attention to it afterwards. So I can't account for whether or not that happened. Thankfully, we were both okay, and we just ended up having dinner together after the event. But it was super creepy.
Starting point is 00:09:00 The only explanation I could think of for this was something. some kind of tech glitch. But I don't know of any technical glitch that would have two phones nowhere near each other, calling each other at the same time, and then both users hearing a completely different phone call. I don't think this was some kind of glitch in the phones. I'm thinking it was more a glitch in the Matrix of some sort. Lazzang sur-joled, puissance-moyane for 15 minutes. We're like it's their dojo

Starting point is 00:10:17 Via Rae. The voice that I am sure will be looked at as boring by some people. But I figured I would post it just in case someone found it as bizarre as I did. It happened a few years ago. I was living in my first grown-up apartment, freshly out of school and broke
Starting point is 00:10:40 A.F. The story involves probably my prized possession, something that I spent way too much money on and absolutely adored. That item would be a hoodie about a certain YouTube channel that doesn't exist anymore. The hoodie itself being half black and half white, and that should tell many people everything they need to know about said hoodie. It was way too much money, money I didn't really have, but it was something I loved and I wanted my piece of history, so I bought it.
Starting point is 00:11:13 I wore that hoodie way too much. It was also sentimental because I actually bought said hoodie with money that my grandmother had given me for my birthday, literally three months before she passed away. So my point is, I loved that hoodie for multiple reasons. I know this is a lot of context, but it's somewhat, importance to the whole thing. One day, during lunch, I was eating one of my favorite foods, a local restaurant's coconut chicken curry, literally my favorite thing in the world.
Starting point is 00:11:51 I was also wearing my hoodie because I always wore the hoodie when the weather was cooler outside. Some of you may have put together the issues with this whole thing. White cloth, curry, so forth, and so on. Anyway, my dumb ass ended up spilling some of the curry on the hoodie. Those of you that like curry probably know that most curries contain turmeric, and turmeric is that fun spice that makes yellow mustard so yellow. And it stains everything and anything that it touches.
Starting point is 00:12:25 I was freaking out, because there was now a two-inch large yellow stain on the white half of my most prized possession. I freaked out, pulled it off, and did everything I could to scrub the stain out. I thought I got it, but I decided to wash it and run it through the dryer to be absolutely certain. Come to find out, this was the dumbest thing I could have ever done. Apparently, heat will actually set turmeric stains. If you don't let the item air dry.
Starting point is 00:13:01 So by washing and drying my first thing, hoodie so quickly, I made that yellow circle a permanent addition. I ended up hanging the hoodie up and keeping it in my closet, right at the front so I could always see it, but I didn't want to damage it more than I already had. The big yellow stain always taunted me when I looked at the hoodie. I got to the point where I ended up moving it closer to the back so I didn't have to look at it after a couple of months, and eventually it did as all things do, left my mind entirely and I had moved on with my life.
Starting point is 00:13:35 I had bought another hoodie and started wearing it more when I could, but I really didn't think about the stained one much because it wasn't always in front of me. The next year, which would have been around four months after the incident occurred with the curry, my lease was up on my apartment, and I was going to move in with one of my friends a bit further into town. It was a move up, so I won't. was excited. The only thing I wasn't looking forward to was packing everything up in boxes. Thankfully, it was just me, so it wasn't like I had a whole lot to pack.
Starting point is 00:14:14 I got to my bedroom and started packing up all my clothes when I got to my closet. I was pulling all my shirts and jackets out and got to my prized half-black, half-white hoodie. I was immediately reminded that there was a massive yellow stain on the front of it, and that was why I didn't wear it anymore. Then I got that pang you get when you get reminded of something upsetting. I grabbed the hoodie from the hanger and started looking at the white half to see where the stain was, and I was genuinely surprised. There was no stain.
Starting point is 00:14:51 I was shocked. I combed over every single bit of the white. I turned it inside out. I stretched the fabric a bit trying to see if it was. was still there in the deeper parts of the cloth, but there was nothing. No yellow stain whatsoever. The hoodie was pristine. The white half was perfectly and immaculately white.
Starting point is 00:15:16 There wasn't even a shadow of the stain, no faint yellow, no outline, nothing. It was as if the whole thing never even happened. I stood there just staring at the damn hoodie, my brain doing that full reboot. I'm sure that I had that buffering circle on my face while I tried to piece together what I was looking at and what I knew to be true. Termaric stains do not fade, especially when it's set into white fabrics, so there was no possible way for this stain to have just vanished with time. Not to mention a few months sitting in the closet wouldn't have been enough to fade. I actually used the flashlight on my phone to live.
Starting point is 00:16:00 look closer at all of the white, and there was absolutely nothing whatsoever. I know that this sounds ridiculous, and again, not creepy like the other stories that you get, but this was such a strange occurrence for me. I loved this hoodie more than anything else I have ever owned, and I was so upset that it had gotten stained. I was broken-hearted that I had damaged something so treasured. Which was why I actually put it away, because I was thinking that I didn't want to damage it any more than I already had. It was the strangest thing to be looking at that hoodie and not see a stain, but I was elated that it was back to perfect.
Starting point is 00:16:48 I still have the hoodie, stained free and still in near perfect condition. I wear it from time to time, but never while eating curry or anything with tomato or chocolate. I pretty much don't wear it while eating. That's the better way to put it. So has anyone else ever had an item they had go through a miraculous fix like this? Anything similar that has left you wondering if you had witnessed reality bending? I considered sending in a picture of the hoodie, but then I realized that I would just be sending you a picture of a plain,
Starting point is 00:17:22 unstained hoodie, so that would be silly. Anyway, thank you for reading. And I hope everyone has a lovely day. I've got a glitch for you that has bothered me for over a decade. This all happened back in 2009. My buddy Mark and I went to college together. We were inseparable and had been for most of our lives. We lived in the same dorms, had pretty much the same classes.
Starting point is 00:18:00 We were just two normal dudes that had pretty much grown up as brothers, even though we were completely unrelated. and this was a super weird thing that happened to both of us. Neither of us has a good answer for what happened. It was a normal day back in college. We had a break between our morning classes and the afternoon classes, which was always nice because the afternoon class was incredibly lecture-heavy and boring. We usually had about an hour in between them,
Starting point is 00:18:32 and I would sit in the food hall and either get something to eat or take a a very short nap. I was there with Mark, as always, and he was wanting to get something to eat, but he realized that he had forgotten his student ID in the dorm room. He asked if he could borrow mine to get something from the dining hall. Our IDs were pretty generic. Plain picture, school logo, plain background.
Starting point is 00:18:57 It wasn't a huge deal, and he'd used my card before, and I really don't think the school cared, as long as the stuff was paid for. I was face down on the table that morning, feeling tired, and I told him to go ahead and just grab it from my bag. I heard him reach over and unzipped the front pocket, and then grab it, said thanks, and then he walked off. I figured he would be back in a couple of minutes, ten at most, and then just drop my ID back off before we headed off to the lecture. After 20 or so minutes, Mark still wasn't back yet. and I was getting annoyed, thinking that we had to get to class pretty soon.
Starting point is 00:19:40 So he needed to hurry. I sat there until literally the last minute that I could and Mark still hadn't returned. I said screw it and decided I would just get the ID in class. Maybe he'd already gone to class after realizing that he had taken too long. So I got into the lecture hall and sat in my normal seat and waited for Mark to walk in. but he didn't. I watched the door in all the seats and waited for him, and he didn't show up to class. I was a bit worried, thinking maybe something had happened to him, because he was pretty good about showing up to class.
Starting point is 00:20:21 And I had just seen him, and he seemed fine. Class went as normal, Mark never showed up, and as annoyed as I was. I just again assumed that something may have come up, as odd as that. would have been with a couple of minutes he would have taken to walk to get food. At the end of the day, I went back to the dorm room and started on some of my classwork. After about ten minutes, the door opens, and in comes Mark. He said hey, and then mentioned that he'd been looking for me, smacking my ID down on my desk. I say thanks and then ask where the hell he had been all day.
Starting point is 00:21:00 and this is where things went from annoying to straight up weird. He asked what I meant, and then said that he was wondering where I had been. I started on him saying that I had waited for him in the cafeteria as long as I could, and then I asked why he didn't show up to the lecture. He tells me that he did show up to the lecture, and that he had been trying to get my ID to me, but that I hadn't shown up for class.
Starting point is 00:21:30 I told him that I was in the lecture, and even pulled out my notebook full of notes. He looked at me like I was crazy and then silently reached into his own bag and pulled out his own notebook. We both looked at the other's notes, and sure enough, we pretty much had written the same thing. There was a bit more interrogation, but none of the answers made sense. He said that he went to get food, and then went back to the same thing. the table and I wasn't there. He assumed I had gone to class, so he sat down, ate quickly, and then made a mad dash to the lecture hall. He said that when he got there, my seat was empty, and I never walked in. I told him my perspective. He never came back to the table. I was in class
Starting point is 00:22:21 and he never showed up. Yet we both had the same notes about the same lecture, both writing down the same important information that the professor had told us to write down. Now, one could look at this and think that this was some kind of prank being played by Mark, that he could have not shown up for class, gotten the notes from another student, and then did this to play the trick on me. Sure, but I don't get the prank, because there was no payoff. On the other end, we both logged into the online class system to look, and we both proved that we had been marked as present for the class.
Starting point is 00:23:01 The system was archaic being 2009, but it showed attendance and grades, and that was all we needed. It was bizarre. Neither of us saw the other one, but we were both there. It was like we both existed in the same place, but in different, I don't know, existences, realities. It was so bizarre, and neither he nor I understand. how we could occupy the same space, but not see each other.
Starting point is 00:23:34 Obviously, nothing really came of this. I got my ID back, we both had our notes and were present in class, and nothing else weird happened. But I figured it was weird enough to share with you. I actually brought this up to Mark before I sent this in, and he laughed and said, oh yeah, that half day where we existed in different universes for a bit. and really that's the best way I can think to explain it. We both existed.
Starting point is 00:24:03 We were both there in the same place, but neither of us existed to the other person. Like we were in separate realities, but the same reality. I don't know how to better describe it. Hopefully you understand what I meant. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this one because it still causes me a lot of confusion. Hi, Raven. I often listen to your stories on YouTube, and I enjoy them a lot. Makes ironing way less boring. It's a pleasure. I don't know if this story qualifies, you be the judge.
Starting point is 00:24:49 Some information, I live in a nursing home for my mental health. Now, this mental health issue is an anxiety disorder, so I'm not out of touch with reality. I am on medication, but not strong medication that would make me forget things. or alter my views of reality. The anxiety has gotten a lot better, and I certainly wasn't in a state of panic when this happened. I had not been feeling well the day prior and had eaten somewhat less, and after that slept for a long time,
Starting point is 00:25:22 so I did feel somewhat unreeling groggy, but was able to hold a conversation, do my usual stuff, etc. The reason I mentioned the nursing home is because this means I have a small studio, bed slash living room, and a bathroom. I had planned a conversation with someone about quitting smoking with hypnosis and meditation, and a diet, especially aimed at the underlying factors that make you smoke. I got a WhatsApp message from this person asking if the time we set was still good for me. I replied that I needed to find my microphone as the one on my webcam doesn't work.
Starting point is 00:26:05 So I go into a large closet that I have in my studio. It holds my washing machine and above that some shelves. I knew which shelf it should be on and there was a big box there full of cartstock, etc. for making cards. I lifted it out. Stuff fell on my head. It was a high shelf. And I cursed some. I put the box on my countertop, which is next to the closet, rummaged around for a bit,
Starting point is 00:26:32 found some stuff that I've forgotten was there. and found the microphone and its box. The microphone wasn't in the box. Now, I don't remember where I placed the microphone, but I would say that on the countertop, as it is the closest. I put the box back, and then I look on the counter.
Starting point is 00:26:51 No microphone. I checked my dresser, my bookcase, my table, even lifted up towels that were on the bed waiting to be put away. No microphone. A nurse came in. I explained what was going, on, and she took the box back out of the closet, didn't find the microphone, and then she helped me look.
Starting point is 00:27:12 No microphone. After she left, I kept looking, and then took a break for lunch. In the meantime, I had messaged the person I had the appointment with to say that I had a glitch in the Matrix situation, explained it, and then apologized for messing up his or her schedule. After lunch, I again took the box out of the closet, felt around, looked around, no microphone. I checked lower shelves, checked the bottom of the closet, nothing. I checked my room. It looked even in the fruit bowl that's on the shelf above my countertop.
Starting point is 00:27:52 No microphone. The box, yes. The microphone? No. Someone said that I would probably find it in a weird place. later, so I don't know if this is a real glitch, but for now, it really looks like it. I took the microphone out of the closet, and now it's nowhere to be found. So maybe me in a parallel universe has two of them.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Thank you for reading, and if you do read this, thanks to everyone else for listening. Hey, Raven. So, out of the few stories I have, this one is the most insane. Everything started on a first date. Me and my now ex had traveled 45 minutes to this mountain for a hike. Everything seemed normal at first. The view was beautiful, nothing out of the ordinary. But when we started going down with the sunrise, something changed.
Starting point is 00:28:58 It wasn't just that it was crowded and then everyone cleared out, but the forest got quieter. You couldn't even really hear the bugs anymore, and all of the trees started to wobble. It was as if they weren't material. I thought I was dehydrated or hallucinating when my ex had asked me if I'd seen it. We were both witnessing the same thing.
Starting point is 00:29:24 It was like water in the sky or watching a television glitch out. I'd never seen the wind move anything like that. The forest almost looked like it was pulling apart and then moving back and forth. We went back to the car and just thought it was super strange. I felt something big behind us, and I saw a bit of a shadow figure, but shrugged it off and didn't really see what it was.
Starting point is 00:29:54 Not 20 minutes later, we were going down the highway, and I had my first and only UFO sighting. Before that, I didn't really look into aliens or go looking for that experience, but it was the most ridiculous aircraft I have ever seen. It was floating in the sky super fast, bright, white, and blue, not making a sound, and the shape was weird like a disc. It disappeared into the sky, and it was so bizarre not to be able to track where it went.
Starting point is 00:30:26 I love meteor showers also, and it was way bigger than any star or comet I had ever seen. I thought people that saw UFOs could possibly take it for a helicopter or a big drone, but to this day I've never seen anything like what that was again. The craziest part was, I decided to Google and see if anyone had made a news report or something. I didn't find anything on that night, but I found articles from years prior where someone else had also seen a UFO over the same mountain. Now, I listened to people's stories of sightings with openness, because that was the weirdest night of my life. Hello, Raven.
Starting point is 00:31:19 I've been listening to your content for what feels like forever now, and it always amazes me that so many people have these experiences that I thought I was the only one experiencing. I'm not sure if this would be considered a glitch, but I will share it anyway. It was sometime around late 2019, early 2020, before the great disaster happened. I was staying in Greece at the time as a pro athlete. I'm from California, I should add. This glitch happened during one of my off days. Two weeks prior, I had bought myself a Nintendo Switch. I wanted to play the popular Zelda game at the time, so I was really excited to play it.
Starting point is 00:32:04 The store that I bought it from was far from the apartment I was staying in, so I wouldn't get any opportunities to go back in case something was wrong with it. And unfortunately, there was. When I had gotten home and turned on the switch, the screen flashed white and a loud static noise started blaring. It was really grating to my ears. No matter how many times I pressed the off button, nothing worked. The noise just kept blaring. It got so bad that I stuffed it under a bunch of my clothes just to block out the noise. Within the two weeks of that day and the day of the glitch,
Starting point is 00:32:43 I would occasionally check the switch out of hope that it would work. Nothing. The same static. Now, back on the day of the glitch, I had gone to a kiosk that was near my apartment to see if maybe they had a phone charger since I had broken mine that day. I motioned the cashier to my charge report, and he shook his head. An annoyed, I decided to buy myself a bag of chips and noticed some batteries. Now any normal person would have just moved on, but I could not stop looking at them.
Starting point is 00:33:17 They were just normal AA batteries, but I had this really intense ringing in my ear followed by this urge in the back of my head, telling me to buy them. I didn't need them, so I managed to. to break my gaze and continued on my search. After walking to many different shops and kiosks in the area with no luck, I had told myself that I'll just have to let my coach know next time I go to practice, and then headed back home. On the way back was that first kiosk, with the AA batteries.
Starting point is 00:33:51 Out of curiosity, I went back to see if I would feel that sensation again. I joked to myself that it would be hilarious if I found a charger there, and to my surprise, there were no batteries, but a phone charger. I was absolutely stunned. I tried to ask the cashier if he had gotten the phone charger while I was gone. In Broken English, she explained that they were always there. I was so confused. One, the first time I went to the kiosk, the cashier confirmed there were no chargers.
Starting point is 00:34:25 Two, the AA batteries are nowhere to be found. I was happy that I lucked out, but it was really strange that a joke to myself came true. I heard that same ringing again as I left the kiosk. Only the ringing started to sound like the static noise that my switch made. As another joke, I muttered out loud, If the universe or God is real, my switch will be fixed when I get home. The ringing stopped in that moment. The rest of the walk home, I kept replaying what happened at the moment.
Starting point is 00:34:58 the kiosk over and over, and about what I said about the universe slash God. Was it real? There's no way my switch would be magically fixed. It was still crapped out last night. These were all the thoughts rushing through my head as I entered my apartment. I immediately went to my switch. I plugged it in and waited for a while and that felt like an eternity for the power to charge, at least enough for it to turn on. And turn on? It did. Not only did it turn on, but it was working completely fine. Not a single static noise.
Starting point is 00:35:37 No white screen? It was fixed. I just sat there completely in awe at what just happened. But then I had a question. One that I've still been pondering as someone who's agnostic. Was it the universe or God that answered my wish? As many times as I have tried to test it, nothing has happened, so I'm just left to wonder.
Starting point is 00:36:12 Hello Raven. My story starts back in the 80s. It was my ninth birthday, and my parents threw me a big party. We didn't have much money growing up, so this was my first and only birthday party that I remember having as a child. I got the usual trinkets and toys, but the big surprise gift was a 10-speed Huffy bike. It was the coolest bike I had ever seen. In my family, we got hand-me-downs or shared, and this was a brand new one in all mine.
Starting point is 00:36:43 It had pink tires and a pastel purple frame, a pastel green seat, and it looked like paint was splashed all over it. It was the 80s, after all. About the next day, my family was going to my aunt's house for a family barbecue, and I begged to bring my new bike. After some resistance from my mom and dad, I finally got a yes. When we got to my aunt's house, my dad got my bike out of the back of the truck and I was ready to ride. My mom told me that all my cousins were across the street at the park, and my siblings and I should go join them. I can ride my bike later as it was still early on, and I had time later. I reluctantly agreed and brought my bike into my aunt's fenced and yard and parked it to where it could be seen from the porch where the adults were.
Starting point is 00:37:32 We all played at the park for about two hours, before we heard my aunt yelling from across, the street that food was done. When we ran back to the house, I noticed that my bike wasn't where I left it. I asked all the adults if they had moved it, but no one had touched it. I was devastated. Everyone assumed that someone had stolen it. We couldn't find it anywhere, and bike theft happened in that area. I couldn't believe it as I didn't even get to ride it.
Starting point is 00:38:03 Fast forward to three years later, my aunt no longer lives in the house. in that house across the street from the park. Instead, my mom's close friend lives there with her three small kids. Since I was 12, I would babysit them whenever I didn't have school for extra money. I was playing with them at the park when I heard their mom yelling, calling us back to the house. She was home now and wanted to take me home so she could unwind. When I got to the gate, I saw it, my bike. It was sitting exactly where I left it three years ago.
Starting point is 00:38:37 still brand new. It didn't even have dust on it like it had been stored somewhere. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was like it had time jumped to three years later. So that's my biggest glitch in the Matrix story. Thanks for listening as I really enjoy your channel.
Starting point is 00:38:59 I listen every day on my two-hour commute to and from work. I'll submit more stuff, but this is my first time, so I won't. overload you. It's never too early to plan your summer story in Europe with WestJet, from rolling countryside to cobblestone streets. Begin your next chapter. Book your seat at westjet.com or call your travel agent.
Starting point is 00:39:28 WestJet, where your story takes off. Salutations, Raven. So this is a glitch story that I have not told to a single soul. It's a story in two parts separated by 12 years. Part 1 The Year is 1991 And I'm 14 years old And on a church trip in Navar Beach, Florida
Starting point is 00:39:51 My youth group had been invited by For Him A popular contemporary Christian musical group at the time To be the backup choir For a song that they were recording I can't remember the song and it's not important I'm no longer the gung-ho believer I once was but at the time it was very exciting for me to be on this trip.
Starting point is 00:40:15 Being on the beach, we, of course, did all of the beach vacation things, swimming, building sand castles, walking on the beach, etc. It was during a walk on the beach with some friends from my youth group one evening, where the first part of this story happened. We were walking, talking, laughing, and being immature like teens tend to be. We passed this elderly couple, and the man looks at me with a strange look on his face. We keep walking, and then I feel a tap on the back of my right shoulder. I turn around, and the man from the couple we passed is sitting there.
Starting point is 00:40:57 He says, I need to tell you something. You need to drink the whiskey from Jordan. That's it. That's all he said. Then he turned around, rejoined his partner, and I never saw him again. Of course, my friends and I start laughing and saying how weird that was. Also, I was a very hardcore Christian at the time, and the idea that I would ever drink whiskey was laughable. Maybe I should mention that I was a Southern Baptist, which, if you know much about the denomination, you know why the idea of alcohol consumption is absurd. Well, flash forward 12 years for part two.
Starting point is 00:41:37 The year is 2003. I'm now a member of the Army National Guard as a fuel truck driver. I'm at Camp Cedar, somewhere in Iraq very shortly after Operation Iraqi Freedom had commenced. Our job was to drive tanker trucks full of JP8, diesel, from our supply area in Kuwait to various fuel bladders all throughout Iraq. Tanks, trucks, and anything that required fuel would get it from these bladders that we filled. My job consisted of a lot of driving, and we were always on alert. Fuel trucks were a big target for obvious reasons. On one mission, we had pulled our convoy off to the side of the road because a truck had a flat.
Starting point is 00:42:25 We pulled security while the flat was fixed. This was a fairly common occurrence. Every time we pulled over, locals would come up to us trying to sell us anything from Iraqi money, Flags, Rolex watches, which I assumed were fake, but found out later they were actually stolen from the Rolex store in Baghdad. They were real, and people were selling them for $20 U.S. dollars. I'm such an idiot for not buying some, but I digress. One of the items that they often tried to sell was whiskey. Drinking was strictly prohibited for soldiers over there.
Starting point is 00:43:03 If you were caught with it, things would get very bad for you. Anyway, I had long escaped the Southern Baptist spell of my youth, and I was no longer opposed to drinking. I asked to see the bottle the guy was selling, and I saw that it was made in Jordan, whiskey being illegal in Iraq. Seeing that flashed me back to the guy that stopped me on the beach 12 years earlier who told me to drink the whiskey from Jordan. I immediately bought the bottle. It was sealed, so I wasn't concerned with being poisoned or whatnot. Now, I'm not proud of this, and I certainly do not condone this behavior, but I open the bottle up, and my buddy and I drank the entire bottle when we got back on the road.
Starting point is 00:43:49 Needless to say, we ended up being quite snockered. As a result of our imbiving, we've started to fall back a bit in the convoy. Then, from my peripheral, a man appears out in the desert, and proceeds to fire an RPG, rocket-propelled grenade, at our truck. The projectiles skimmed off the hood of our truck, making sparks as it sizzled by, and then hit the open desert on our other side and exploded. We instantly sobered up, and the MPs at the rear of the convoy took out the threat.
Starting point is 00:44:24 Later that night, back at camp, my buddy and I had started talking about the incident. He brought up the fact that if we had not been drunk, we would have been further up the convoy, and if we had been further up, the RPG would have gone directly into the driver's side door, most likely killing us both. Basically, being drunk on that whiskey is what saved both of our lives that day. So whoever that old man was back in 1991, who told me to drink the whiskey from Jordan, thanks. I thought you were weird at the time, but I guess it's true that God works in a mysterious way.
Starting point is 00:45:06 Love the stories, Raven, and love the channel. Keep them coming. Hey, Raven, I have an update to an experience I submitted some months ago called Braced for Impact. It was about tires squealing behind me while at a traffic light, and seeing a gray car sliding toward my vehicle's passenger side, and then seeing debris flying through the air. I gripped my steering wheel and braced for the impact, which never came. Afterwards, when I looked around, there was no gray car, no debris. It was very strange.
Starting point is 00:45:51 On the drive home, I noticed several unusual things. But the weirdest was a road that I had never seen before, even though I'd lived in that area for years. I didn't drive down at the time because I was already freaked out enough. Well, I recently got my nerve up, and when the opportunity arose, I turned down the road that I didn't recognize. I honestly thought it would be an ordinary place. It wasn't. At first, there were fields in a few houses.
Starting point is 00:46:24 Pretty normal. As I drove on, the houses began to look strange with very unusual architecture. Then I noticed there were no people visible. It was close to 6 p.m. and somebody should have been arriving home from work. There were no children playing. Nobody was tending a garden or cutting grass. There were no dogs anywhere and no animals in the fields.
Starting point is 00:46:49 I don't think the birds were even singing. It was so quiet. I kept going. There were more houses, but still no people. The road turned and I followed it and more of the same. It turned again and I ended up back at the main road where I had turned off. I decided to get out of there. It was too eerie.
Starting point is 00:47:11 like an abandoned movie set or something. As soon as I reached the main road, there was traffic and people again. Later, I looked up the mysterious road online, and pretty much all of the houses were built in the early 2000s. One house dated to the 1950s. I don't plan to drive over there again. It just doesn't feel right. There are lots of strange things in this matrix,
Starting point is 00:47:39 and I guess that particular rule. road is just one more of them. I adore listening to your stories. Watching your videos has been a bedtime tradition for me. I have to watch or I can't fall asleep, so I have to thank you for your content. Thank you very much for that. I've been a hardcore skeptic when it comes to glitches in the Matrix stories until this happened to me.
Starting point is 00:48:14 Now I'm not sure what to believe. My story's really short and not scary at all. Honestly, it's kind of boring, but it's been in the back of my mind constantly since it happened to me. For a little bit of background, I have three daughters, 13, 4, and 2 years old. And they're constantly running around playing, and the objects that I have hung on any of my walls will regularly get knocked down as they run like a stampede to the entire house 24 by 7. I bought a life-sized skeleton for a Halloween decoration about five years ago, and I instantly hung it up on my wall in the bedroom to mess with the kids,
Starting point is 00:48:55 and needless to say, they loved it all season. Right after Halloween, I had taken it down, and my kids were beyond unhappy with me for packing bones away with the rest of the Halloween decorations. I caved and hung it right back up, and it's been in the same spot all year long, and has been there for over five years. The kids would decorate and dress the skeleton for whatever, holiday was coming up.
Starting point is 00:49:23 One day I was the only person home and I was cleaning up, so my children could simply destroy it all again the second they came in the door. I was standing in front of the skeleton, and I bent over to pick something up off the floor, and as soon as I did, I felt something fall onto my back extremely hard. I wasn't expecting it, so once I was hit, it's like my brain quit working for at least 30 seconds. I turned around and noticed it was the skeleton that had fallen off the wall, and it thumped me in the head and back.
Starting point is 00:49:58 I was confused. Once my brain came back to Earth, I picked him up and thought the command hook that he was hung on must have broken or come off the wall without looking at it. I just went to grab the new one. Once I came back in with the new hook, I looked up where the hook was and noticed that it was still there in place. like it had been for years. I picked up the skeleton and lifted it to put him back on to the hook,
Starting point is 00:50:26 and that's when I lost it. The hook was still in place, but it was upside down. Trying to find some logical explanation I went to pull off the hook to see if it was loose and maybe one of the kids were trying to mess with me, and it didn't go as planned. I pulled the hook, and a chunk of my drywall came off with the hook. So, that hook was not manipulated in any way at any time. I don't want to think about what could have happened.
Starting point is 00:50:58 So, I haven't mentioned this to anyone else out of fear that people will think I'm crazy. But I know what happened. I saw it with my own eyes in my face. Something that is supposed to be impossible happened, and it will probably haunt my thoughts for the rest of my life. I enjoy the stories that you bring to us. us. It was because of my own personal glitch that I began listening to you and others. I haven't submitted this one to anyone else, but I will submit another one in another email that happened to me
Starting point is 00:51:40 today. I have a favorite beer bottle opener that I special ordered from Belgium. I have a favorite brand of imported beer and the bottle opener is in the shape of the label that's on the actual bottle. The opener is made of metal, slightly curved, and measured. measures 4 inches by 2 inches, with a slot opening that acts as the bottle opener. I keep it hanging on a red plastic coated wire with an easy reach from the knob of the glass door cabinet to the right of my sink. One day I reached up to get it to open up a bottle of beer and it was gone. Now, being metal, it's a bit heavy and being rather large, I didn't immediately think that one of my cats had knocked it down to play with it.
Starting point is 00:52:28 it. But those rascals are always surprising me with their antics. So I searched all over the countertop and the floor and didn't find it. I must have absentmindedly hung it on another knob, I thought. I searched each and every cabinet knob on the top cabinets and even the bottom ones. It was nowhere to be seen. After an exhaustive search, I came to the conclusion that I must have had a rain fart the day before and actually threw it away instead of the bottle cap. It's too bad because the garbage had already gone. I was very upset and mad at myself for being so careless. I tried online to find another one for sale, but to no avail.
Starting point is 00:53:18 I'll fast forward a couple of months, where I was standing to the left of my sink where the counter forms a corner with the stove to the left of the corner. It's where I do most of my food prep, and the first cabinets to the left of my sink is the spice cabinet. I must use that cabinet at least twice a day in preparing lunch and later on dinner. As I reached up to take the knob to open the door, I saw the bottle opener hanging there. It was just hanging there right in front of me, in plain view. I was so shocked. I thought that I was seeing things, but it was just hanging there.
Starting point is 00:53:56 It was there. No way could it have been there all this time. No way could I not have seen it there as many times a day that I use that cabinet. I reached up and took it into my hands, and it was the same bottle opener, with the same slightly bent, red-coated wire. I'm somewhat of a loner and live alone, and no one had been in my house for several months, and especially not since the opener went missing. I was stunned, but relieved that I had my old friend back.
Starting point is 00:54:31 I carefully placed it back in its usual place with the admonition that it should never scare me like that again. So where had it been all that time? Anyone care to guess? As promised, Raven, this is the second of my glitches that just happened to me today. My old external non-blue-tooth speaker from my laptop started buzzing a lot, so I replaced them with a brand new, smaller, compact, Bluetooth speaker. I already had one, but I use it with my iPad. The speaker came with a short charging cord that had a USB plug to plug into my laptop,
Starting point is 00:55:19 and from day one, I hated it. It would never work right, and I became frustrated with constantly trying to get the speaker in my laptop in sync. It was hit and miss most of the time. I finally came to the conclusion that it was because of the same. the charger being plugged into the laptop, so I ordered another longer charger that I could plug into my power strip. In the meantime, I used my older Bluetooth iPad speaker and was thrilled to see that it worked just fine. When I got the new charger, I just kept using it with my older Bluetooth speaker and was very happy with the results. No more frustrations. I sit in an overstuffed
Starting point is 00:56:03 chair with a large roomy arms upon which I can comfortably sit my laptop and the speaker. I was thrilled that the charger plugged into the right side end of the speaker and trailed right off the back end of the chair arm down to my power cord. For two weeks my nighttime routine has been to turn my laptop off, and when the speaker announces that my laptop has been disconnected, I reach over to the right end of the speaker and press the off button. The Bluetooth indicator light is at the left end of the speaker and it goes out. Well, now here's the shocker. This morning when I powered up my laptop, I reached to turn on my speaker only to find that the on-off button was now located on the left end of the speaker, and the Bluetooth indicator light was located on the right end of the speaker. The
Starting point is 00:56:52 charger cord is now snaked behind the speaker from its connection on the left end of the speaker. I noticed the difference right away. I had used it enough that it had already become a habit of turning the speaker on and off, so I knew that it had been the other way around for a couple of weeks now. As I thought about it, I remembered that, before I used it on the laptop, the speaker had been connected to my iPad over on the TV stand, and that's when I realized that the configuration the speaker was now in was its original configuration when it sat on the TV stand. Power cord and on-off button was on the left.
Starting point is 00:57:32 left, and the Bluetooth indicator light was on the right end. So, for the last two weeks, the speaker had been in an alternate configuration, completely opposite from today's. It still sounds the same, and I'm not going to complain about the change, but I'm still trying to figure it out. I guess I'll just chalk it up to the Matrix. Hi, Raven. Thanks for taking the time to read my story.
Starting point is 00:58:09 I just had the corkiest experience. We use 100% cotton flannel sheets throughout the year. I usually buy two sets when they're on sale, about $27 for a full or queen size. I take the two top sheets and sew them into a duvet cover. These duvet covers tend to last much longer than the fitted sheets. This way I end up with two new sets of sheets and pillowcases for around $60. Duvet covers are quite expensive.
Starting point is 00:58:43 Because they're all cotton flannel, some of the pillow cases wrinkle tight at the ends, which drives me crazy. About every third wash, I ironed the top part of the pillowcase to smooth them out. While I was ironing, I decided to tackle some freshly washed, badly wrinkled kitchen towels as well. After I finished, I took them to the kitchen to fold and put them away. Our glass top stove is a great space for folding towels. I try to keep up with laundry, but I'm not the best at sticking to a schedule. Since a bunch of towels had been dirty, leaving the towel drawer sparse, a week earlier I had moved the sink rags from the drawer below to the towel drawer.
Starting point is 00:59:27 Here's where things get strange. I emptied the towel drawer onto the counter that meets the stove. This included the rags, then proceeded to fold. the towels, then put them back in their drawer. But when I went to put the sink rags away, they were gone. They weren't in the drawer, on the stovetop, the open counter, the floor, or the ironing board. They were nowhere to be found. Finally, I decided to check the drawer under the towels.
Starting point is 00:59:58 This meant moving a stool with my foot, which would make noise. I won't touch the stool and then handle the clean towel rags. I was certain that I hadn't already done this because the stool makes a distinct noise when sliding on the floor and my husband was sleeping. Somehow, the universe had put them away. They were in their proper spot. One minute they were on the back of the stove,
Starting point is 01:00:23 and when I wasn't looking, they vanished. Not to sound flippant, but I thanked the universe for putting them away and then requested to witness something disappear the next time the universe intervenes. When that happens, you'll be the first to know. I used to think these events were ghostly acts until I started listening to your podcast.
Starting point is 01:00:46 Not sure if this falls under paranormal, glitches, parallel universe, or something else. But I do know for the first time I have unequivocal proof that these strange things really happen. Even if I can't prove it to others, I now know. Raven, stay awesome.
Starting point is 01:01:03 you have a unique and very cool show. Hope all is well for you and patience in your new home, and I really enjoyed that scary humanoid episode. Thank you very much. I drive for DoorDash. On Saturday night, I was in a town to the northwest of mine, so I could take advantage of the live promo there since my zone wasn't paying well.
Starting point is 01:01:33 I got an order that said clear as day it had a distance of 11.4 miles total. The restaurant was less than a mile away. The delivery was going back to my low-paying zone, but I figured I would call it a night afterwards. The mileage to dollar ratio was half-decent. My boyfriend, who was in and out of sleep, asked me which restaurant I was going to. I said DJ's lounge. We recognized the building as we had eaten there before, but it was under a different name.
Starting point is 01:02:07 Strangely, upon navigating back to the app to start the pickup, it turned out that it was actually. actually for the ice cream place a few buildings down in the same plaza. Confused, I thought that was that. But how would I have recognized the name DJ's Lounge if I had never heard of it? I proceeded to find the ice cream place and picked up the order. I'm very directionally intelligent, so I mostly use GPS for fuel efficiency options, checking destinations and to run it in the background so I don't get distracted from the task. Thanks a lot, ADHD.
Starting point is 01:02:44 Weirdly, the destination was now five miles west of where I had seen it under the order when I accepted it. The driving distance had also changed from something that was supposed to be 10.5 remaining miles to 18 remaining miles. It would mean that I'd have to drive further west and take the turnpike down to get to this new location. Mega confused, I called Dasher support to verify
Starting point is 01:03:09 because I thought I was going crazy. The virtual phone concierge said that the customer had contacted me and asked that I deliver elsewhere. If this was true, I hadn't seen it, because I was driving. A few minutes later, I got a real-life agent and told them about my confusion and the supposed delivery move. They checked their side and told me that the delivery was indeed for the ice cream place and that I was never offered anything for DJ's lounge. Further, the customer had not requested that I drop it off somewhere else. I was relieved that I was on the right track,
Starting point is 01:03:48 but none of this explained what I had seen earlier when I accepted the order. I'm a healthy 31-year-old woman with a solid photographic memory. I could have sworn that I had seen an order for 11.4 miles that goes to a town east of where I ended up. Following this craziness, at least the customer was friendly and now I have a reason to visit that plaza in the town again. Hi, Raven, I've watched your show a couple of times and I really enjoy it. Thank you. I have a story of a tiny glitch. I live in Australia, I do a lot of shopping and thrift stores, and I like to look for unusual things.
Starting point is 01:04:38 One off kind of stuff. One day I found a really unusual belt for just a few dollars. I was so happy with it. It was made of black stretch woven elastic, about one and a half inches wide. It had a really nice buckle slash clasp made of heavy metal in the shape of a bow, in a dark antique brass color.
Starting point is 01:05:02 About a year or so after I bought it, I went to wear it one day, and when I looked in the drawer, I was really, really shocked to find that there were two of them. It freaked me out so much. I took a photo of them and sent it to a friend. I've never warned it again, and I thought I had thrown it out as I've moved a couple of times, but I went to look the other day and found it, but only one.
Starting point is 01:05:29 Of course, try as I might, I can't find the photo that I sent to my friend. Anyway, thanks for reading, and keep up the good work. Hi, Raven. At first, thank you so much for your work. I absolutely love listening to your content as I doze off to sleep. especially the glitch in the matrix stories. I find your voice incredibly soothing. I'm probably your biggest fan in Botswana.
Starting point is 01:06:01 That's awesome, probably. My story isn't a massive glitch, but it's something that's stuck with me for over 20 years. And I still think about it quite often. This happened around 2003 when I was about 10 years old. In my childhood home, we had a radio that I loved to play with. My parents weren't strict, so they looked. Let me mess around with gadgets in the house.
Starting point is 01:06:26 This particular radio could play cassette tapes. For anyone who doesn't know, a cassette tape was a magnetic tape used to store and play audio. They were pretty popular back then. There was one tape that my mom especially loved. She would always play it while doing household chores. And because of that, I practically memorized all the songs on it. She played that thing so much that I knew the track order by heart. One day I was playing around with the radio, like usual, and put in my mom's favorite cassette.
Starting point is 01:07:00 But this time something strange happened. Instead of the usual song I was expecting, it played a remix of that very song. Something I had never heard before. I sat there in complete shock, just listening. It had the same lyrics, but the melody was different, and it had an additional singer featured in the song. like a professionally done remix. When it ended, I rewound the tape, as you had to back then, to try and play it again. But this time it played the normal original version.
Starting point is 01:07:35 I tried several times to get the remix to play again, but no luck. It was gone. I told my mom about it, but she just brushed it off and didn't think much of it. But to this day, I've never forgotten that moment. I still wonder what happened. Did I momentarily slip into another version of reality where the cassette was different? Was it some kind of audio glitch that never repeated? I'll probably never know, but it's one of those strange childhood memories that just won't let go.
