Just wanted to pop in here to say that my silly self apparently got so enamored with all the snow we got here in southern Minnesota last week that I got brain freeze and forgot that I have a job to do. And that part of that job is putting out new episodes of the podcast. You noticed there was a huge gap last week in the conference. I am so sorry about that. Apparently I put together an episode of my dreams or something and just forgot that I
Starting point is 00:01:30 needed to put it up on Spotify and such. So here it is. Sorry about that. Yeah. Hopefully you guys are doing well. Hopefully you're all having a good winter or summer if you're on the other part of the world. That's not winter right now.
Starting point is 00:01:45 Pretty good winter here. Like I said, a lot of snow, a lot of cold. So that's pretty much the entire sales pitch for this place. Um, all that said, enjoy the stories. I will leave you to enjoy them and stop talking. Bye. I have a strange story. It disturbed me for so long the more I thought about it,
Starting point is 00:02:13 and I've never really told the whole story to anyone. I want to say that I've never had unstable states of mind or hallucinations, and I was not on any drugs from the dentist, and I don't know what to make of this story. When I was in first grade, we were all sitting at our circular tables, taking turns reading a book. Suddenly, a voice came over the loudspeaker and called me to the office to be checked out. Nothing wrong yet. I'm just going to the dentist. My dad was here to take me and my sister, and he told me that I would probably be back before school was over,
Starting point is 00:02:51 so I didn't need to bring my things with me. So I go to the dentist and just got a cleaning. And I know for a fact that I wasn't put under with any kind of drugs because I've only had that happen once at the dentist, and it was when I got my wisdom teeth out as an adult. This time was just a routine cleaning, nothing more. But it did take a little longer than anticipated. So, when we got back to my school, classes had been dismissed. The buses to take kids home had all departed. There were no cars in the pickup line.
Starting point is 00:03:28 because I remember us pulling right up to the entrance. It was after hours at Nursery Road Elementary. I walked into the front office to tell the administrators that I'm just here to get my bag before walking back to the classroom. Again, let me be very clear that there weren't even many teachers or staff at the school at this point. The halls were quiet.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Each door was wide open from janitors, coming in to clean the empty classrooms, most with the lights turned off. I remember thinking that it was kind of cool being at the school like this when it was so quiet, when I'm the only kid there. So I hope you understand the scope of my shock as I turned the corner to my classroom to be met with
Starting point is 00:04:19 a full classroom of kids, still sitting at their circular tables, still reading the same book. seemingly everything and everyone was in the exact same place they were in when I had left hours before, as if I had only gone to the bathroom for a few minutes. I don't remember a lot from being seven years old, but when something happens to you that makes the alarm bells in your mind starts sounding, your brain starts recording everything.
Starting point is 00:04:52 I remember the next ten minutes perfectly, and the first thing I remember thinking when I turned that corner was the obvious. What? Why are you all still here? Followed by, why are you still reading? But then I had the thought that really perplexed me. Why didn't I hear anyone until I approached the door? The halls were completely silent. The doors were all open.
Starting point is 00:05:21 I suspect from janitor's cleaning, including my class. and nothing seemed strange to me when approaching. But a room full of kids reading with a teacher, and I didn't hear a single peep. Even if they were reading quietly, I think it's possible you would sense the presence of an entire classroom as you approach them. Oh, good. You're just in time. It's almost your turn to read. Ms. Mayburn and I... Come on, hurry up. We're almost done with this chapter. Stunned by confusion, my body entered its autopilot, mode and I did what I was told slowly.
Starting point is 00:05:58 I'm sitting at the table and just looking at everyone trying to make sense of what is happening. As the kids read on, suddenly the classroom is every bit as audible as any other day. There's no way that I wouldn't have heard it. I try to interrupt several times. Ms. Mayburn, I'm only here to... It's rude to interrupt your classmates. You can ask questions when we're done. She was acting uncharacteristic to her.
Starting point is 00:06:25 herself. She was brushing me off in a way that seemed deliberate and slighted. But I was seven and had no procedure on how to handle this situation or articulate my anxiety. Finally, it's my turn to read. I really have to go, Ms. Stop disrupting reading time, please. Once we're done with this chapter, we can move on. So I began reading. I don't remember what book it was. Probably a magic treehouse book or something, we read a lot of those. I just remember feeling like something was really wrong. Like I shouldn't be here. Even though this was my classroom, it wasn't making sense.
Starting point is 00:07:09 What do I know? I'm just a dumb kid. But some instinctual, on a primal level feeling, was telling me to get out. Suddenly I feel someone sharply grabbed my arm and pull me. What are you doing? It was my older sister. You were only supposed to get your bag. We've been waiting outside for you forever.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Forever. How long had I been in here? I thought that to myself. An annoyed, she rushes me out of the room, but not before I caught a look on Ms. Mayburn's face. It was blank, checked out. Not really cold or menacing, but just completely vacant before springing back to life. with her cheery sardonic tone. Why didn't you say so?
Starting point is 00:07:57 Take care. We'll see you tomorrow. Before then sitting back down and directing the next child to begin reading. And that was it. Just some weird story that's stuck in my mind for about 15 years. I don't know what to make of it. I told myself what they tell the kids in the movies. It was just my overactive imagination.
Starting point is 00:08:20 Kids see things. they don't know what's going on. My sister from time to time would bring up the story and tease me about it, always finishing with, he must have just loved to read when he was younger, before laughing. I always didn't know what to say, but I also thought that it was strange
Starting point is 00:08:40 why she thought that story was so interesting for her. Why didn't she ever think it was weird that the whole class was still reading with me? Was she not surprised to see ever, everyone like I was? Did I miss something? Maybe I really was just an ignorant kid and didn't realize all the detention students or kids of parents who were late were gathered there? Well, one day when I was 23, I was introducing my sister to my new girlfriend at the time, and as she was telling so many embarrassing stories as she could, she told the one about that day. The same way that she always did, and I said,
Starting point is 00:09:21 What is it about that story that you find so funny? Don't you think it was weird? Confused and scoffing, she says, Uh, yeah, it was weird to see my little brother sitting in an empty classroom reading all by himself after school hours. Today, I went to pick up my daughter from school and bring her to her father's house. On the way there, I knew that I needed to go to the bank after I dropped her off. And she asked if we could get coffee before I dropped her off. dropped her off and then the errand of going to the bank slipped my mind, and after I dropped her off, I went home.
Starting point is 00:10:08 Within five minutes of me being home, I remembered, oh, crap, I need to go to the bank to withdraw money to pay my rent. So I grabbed my keys and purse and left home again to go to the bank. As I walk up to the teller with my withdrawal slip, she's looking at me with a very confused look. Then, when I hand her the slip and my ID, she almost jumped back and her face was even more confused looking. She glanced at me and then my ID, and then back at me. I was almost thinking she didn't think that my ID looked like me, and she said, I'm sorry, but weren't you just here for this transaction? I laughed and said, no, I certainly wasn't.
Starting point is 00:10:56 I just caught here. She processed the withdrawal, and all the while it seemed like she thought I was messing with her, like one of those videos you see on the internet with identical twins. I don't have a twin. Should I ask to see the security footage? Do you think they'll show me, or think I'm crazy? If I had gone at the time I had planned to go and had not forgotten, I would have, in fact, just been there.
Starting point is 00:11:24 And even weirder, later in the day while working my bartending job, a woman asked if I lived in the city that I live in, and said, I swear I saw you gardening earlier. I always see you in your garden. But I don't live in her neighborhood. So what is going on? I don't remember when this was exactly, but it was pre-pandemic. I'm sure I posted about it on my dream-width blog, but I don't feel like going through the years of blog posts to find it. But I'm pretty sure I was living at the apartment before my current one when this happened, because I didn't move here until after the pandemic had started.
Starting point is 00:12:20 Another relevant bit. I have a friend that I visit semi-regularly who lives at the same building as one of my previous apartments, not the one from my clothing glitch story. I use public transit and I frequently stay over late into the night. The night this glitch happened, I had walked to a bus stop on line 72 by what I think was a gas station, if I remember correctly. And while waiting there, this older woman who I thought might have been a drug addict for reasons that are hard to describe even to myself, certain kind of drug addicts just have a distinct vibe to them, you know. She started bothering me.
Starting point is 00:13:00 I think it started with wanting a light for her cigarette. I don't smoke or drink or do any kind of recreational drugs apart from caffeine, but I don't really recall the details. I just know that I was bothered enough that I left the bus stop and started walking to the next bus stop. It was night, but there was enough light from streetlights that I memorized her appearance easily enough. And also, I kept looking back to make sure that she wasn't following me.
Starting point is 00:13:30 I could still hear her at the bus stop even after walking for about six or seven minutes, because she was still standing under the streetlight, and my vision is much more acute than it seems to be for most people. On a clear day, I can see individual leaves on trees at the horizon. I also have good enough night vision that, as a kid, I never understood people's fear of the dark until I realized that other people can't really see in the dark as well as I can. I assure you this is all still relevant. When I got on the bus,
Starting point is 00:14:05 I looked back one last time and saw that she was still there, likely one of those kinds of people that hangs out at bus stops despite not needing the bus. Though she was far enough away that I wasn't entirely sure it was her, she wasn't on the bus when I got on. Now for the glitch. The bus gets going and stops three stops away. The door opens, and the exact same woman from the previous bus stop got on and walked right by me. Same face, same hair, same clothes, same everything, which was impossible.
Starting point is 00:14:45 Maybe Usain Bolt could have run that distance in that short of a time and hidden it from me by running along one of the side roads, if that area had had a side road to do that on, which it didn't. one would have to walk or run a whole city block back, find the nearest side road, go up that side road until a point well past the stop the bus had stopped at, and then run back towards the bus. Again, maybe Usain Bolt could do it, but this woman had to have been in her late 50s or 60s,
Starting point is 00:15:18 was a smoker and probably did other drugs. She was giving no sign at all of having as much walked a little too fast. I mean, even if I was somehow wrong about her having been at the first bus stop still when the bus had stopped at that stop, I think even most people with average eyesight doing as I had done would have known she was still there, at least long enough that she could not possibly have run even to the bus stop I got on without them spotting her, much less three full stops ahead of me. either the woman teleported, there was a glitch in the Matrix,
Starting point is 00:15:59 or she's got an identical twin sister with identical fashion sense, who aged identically to her sister and just so happened to get on the same bus line that her sister had been at a stop for, like a mile or two down the road from her. And none of those are very satisfying or likely answers. Occam's razor is stumped by this one, as am I. I welcome any other possible explanations for this. And just a note, I have no history of visual hallucinations, and have only experienced an auditory hallucination once in my life.
Starting point is 00:16:36 I do have mental illnesses, but those are just depression and anxiety, and again, no drugs or alcohol. Even if I was tempted by alcohol's numbing properties, it always smells to me like raw sewage. Hi, Raven. This may be a glitch, or it may just be a weird situation. with a perfectly reasonable explanation that I cannot comprehend, even after nearly three decades.
Starting point is 00:17:11 At the time, I worked in a town about half an hour away from my home. The drive was a straight shot on a very busy highway, but I don't like busy highways with bumper-to-bumper traffic. My job was very stressful, and I needed a relaxing morning routine, so I took a back-country road to work, every day. The ride was quiet. Almost no traffic in the country view was calm and peaceful.
Starting point is 00:17:41 Except this one day. Now, a little more background is in order. It was the early 90s. There were no cell phones. I believe the internet was slowly making its way into schools and homes, but it was in its infancy stages. I'm making this point to show that there was nothing I could do about the situation that I encountered.
Starting point is 00:18:03 nor was there any way really to find out what happened. So I'm on my pleasant country road when I drive up behind a car stopped in front of me, with the driver door open and no one in the driver's seat. There was also a car stopped in the road on the opposing lane. Same thing, driver door open, no one in the driver's seat. I got out of my car and walked up to the front of the car in my lane, expecting to find two people bent down, checking on a hurt animal, that maybe one of them had hit,
Starting point is 00:18:35 but there were no people and there was no animal. And no trace of the road that any kind of accident had occurred. And amazingly, both cars were still running. I gazed over the woods on both sides of the road to see where the people had gone. The trees on both side were only a few years old, spaced out fairly evenly in the ground cleared of brush. I say this, because I could see far back into the woods on both. sides. There were no houses, no people, no commotion of any kind. If I had owned a cell phone,
Starting point is 00:19:11 I would have called 911. If computers had been anything more than word processing machines, maybe I could have researched the news the next day, but as things were, there was no way for me to figure out what was going on. As astounding as the situation was, getting to work was the uppermost in my mind. I realized that there was enough room for me to drive into the left lane and pass the car in front of me without hitting the car in the other lane, and that's what I did. I resumed my drive to work. But I'm as perplexed today as I was then. Short of alien abduction, what would cause two people to leave their cars running on a road, doors wide open? Even if there was some sort of emergency, you would logically pull your car over, turn off the engine, and shut your
Starting point is 00:20:04 tour. By the way, this happened in Georgia. It'd be interesting to know if anyone listening to your podcast ever witnessed or heard about a similar incident. Hello, Raven. I consider myself a pretty level-headed, yet open-minded individual. I stumbled upon your channel and find it so fascinating that so many people have Glitch in the Matrix experiences. Although I must admit that my skeptical side is always looking for logical explanations. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, trust me. Recently, I had my own Glitch in the Matrix experience, and it has made me question life and the world that we live in. It's such a small, mundane, yet unexplainable experience, and yet has raised so many profound questions about the true nature of
Starting point is 00:21:04 existence. Here's my experience. At the end of November 2024, myself and a friend went to a local mall. I rarely go there but was in search of a new dress to wear for my friend's son's destination wedding in Hawaii. Resort casual, the invitation stated. I tried on many dresses. I made the mistake of wearing earrings. As you slipped on and off the clothing over your head, there's always the chance of losing an earring, so being as cautious as possible, I would check that the backing on my earrings were firmly in place every once in a while, and touched my earrings to make sure they were both in place on a regular basis.
Starting point is 00:21:51 Well, making a long story short, I did not find a suitable dress and exhausted my search for the day. As my friend and I left the mall and approached the car, I slipped my purse, which was sitting cross-bottes. over my head to take it off. It was then that I felt to catch one of my earrings and it popped off. My friend and I searched the lot but didn't see my earring anywhere. It was a pearl earring with a gold surround. I checked my clothing to make sure it wasn't on me anywhere, wishful thinking. We searched a wide radius and I turned on my phone's flashlight to look under cars and around
Starting point is 00:22:29 tires. It was nowhere to be found. It was early afternoon and still bright, and you would think that the white of the pearl would be easier to spot against the dark asphalt parking lot. We searched a very large area around where I stood. An unreasonable radius, really, because I wanted to find that earring. My friend eventually suggested that perhaps I should just retrace my steps in case I lost that earring earlier and didn't realize it. I felt it catching that lot, but what did I have to lose? I went back to the dressing room to look around and asked the sales clerk if anyone turned in an earring
Starting point is 00:23:09 and looked down and around as I retraced my steps to the car. It was lost. My daughter coincidentally needed something from the mall the next day and said we could search again if I joined her. I did. We searched the lot area again, but still no earring. I chalked it up as lost and gone. Now, here is the unexplainable part. This past summer, August 2025, eight months after I lost that earring.
Starting point is 00:23:43 I woke up to find my pearl earring with its backing in place, sitting on top of my tall dresser. Flabbergasted and confused, I asked my husband why there was a pearl earring on the dresser. He told me that he had reorganized a drawer and found a pearl earring at the bottom of the dresser drawer. I couldn't believe it. I picked up my earring and went to my small heart-shaped ceramic earring container. There inside was its match, which I had thrown back into my earring container because I didn't have the heart to throw it out. I just couldn't explain it. At first I thought, perhaps, it got stuck in my clothes and went through the laundry and got caught on his clothes, which ended up in his drawer.
Starting point is 00:24:30 it sounds quite unlikely for an earring to survive all that. Plus, I did check my clothing thoroughly and even shook out each garment I was wearing when I got home when I first lost the earring. No earring. Besides, if that was the case, how is it that the backing was still on the earring? I've told this baffling experience to many friends, and they suggest that perhaps I didn't put on both earrings. I tell them, no, I put on both, and have to be it. never forgotten to put on an earring. I know that I put on both.
Starting point is 00:25:05 I did check them several times during the time I was out. Another friend suggested that perhaps my husband found a replacement earring for my lost earring. I mentioned this to him and he found the notion ludicrous. I agree. I know him and it's not something that he would do. Besides the fact that my earring is decades old, he would be hard pressed to find a duplicate style to match these.
Starting point is 00:25:30 days. So, I do chalk it up to something unexplainable, a glitch in the Matrix. If I think really hard about it, this is probably my second such experience. My first experience was probably 20 years before the term glitch in the Matrix was ever popularized. In that particular case, my husband and daughter were also witness to it. But that'll be for another day. Life, is indeed strange. Hello, Raven. I started listening to your glitch stories about one to two years back. I sleep listening to it and find your voice really calm and soothing.
Starting point is 00:26:22 Thank you very much. This story began a couple of months ago, and I've been meaning to share it with you ever since. What's strange is that just when I was about to write it to you, the glitch reversed. Turns out I was only halfway through it before it made the full circle. Let me explain. At the time, things between me and my boyfriend were fine, just a little rough.
Starting point is 00:26:48 He's the adventurous outdoorsy type. Boats, fishing, hiking, will I'm more of a homebody. Our disagreements were usually about weekends. He wanted to explore, and I wanted to stay in. One night, we were driving home from dinner. As we turned toward our neighborhood, something immediately felt off. There used to be a 7-Eleven gas station on that corner, but that night, it was a Circle K. I pointed it out, and he just looked at me and said, it's always been a Circle K.
Starting point is 00:27:23 I brush it off, thinking maybe I was remembering it wrong. But from that day forward, things started to shift. He wasn't pushing me to go fishing or hiking anymore. Instead, he wanted to stay home, cook together, binge movies. rub my feet, bring me flowers just because. He was sweeter, funnier, more affectionate, and even planned an all-paid birthday vacation to a place I've been wanting to go for a while. He would start the laundry, pick up his socks, all the little things he never used to do.
Starting point is 00:28:01 For a while, I thought maybe he had just changed, like maybe our rough patch made him realize something. But then I noticed something eerie. He didn't remember parts of our relationship the same way that I did. I remember meeting at a hookah lounge while he swore that it was a karaoke night. I remember trips to Vegas in Florida during COVID, and he only remembered Vegas. All of our photos from the Florida trip were gone as well. It was only me at those places in Florida in my pictures on Instagram. That's when it hit me.
Starting point is 00:28:38 This wasn't just a personality shift. It was like I was living with the same person, but from another timeline. I was ready to write to you about how a small gas station glitch changed my boyfriend completely until one night it flipped back. We were driving down that same road and Circle K was gone. The 7-Eleven was back. I pointed it out again and he said, when was there ever a Circle K, it's always been a 7-Eleven.
Starting point is 00:29:11 And just like that, he was back to his old self. Same memories, same habits, same arguments about weekends. I tried to convince myself that it was all coincidence, maybe my imagination. But then it all started happening again. Every time that gas station is a Circle K, life feels easier. He's loving, peaceful, and everything flows. Every time it's a 7-Eleven, things go back to the way they were, normal, messy, and imperfect.
Starting point is 00:29:43 Now, whenever we drive past that corner, I hold my breath and cross my fingers, hoping to see the Circle K sign glowing in red. Because in that world, everything seems perfect. And I can't help but wonder, how do I make it stay that way forever? Hi, Raven. Thank you for having this channel. I now fell asleep so fast listening to you. I was suffering from insomnia, but thanks to you, it's now history. Thank you, Vanessa, I appreciate that. It was 2003.
Starting point is 00:30:25 My husband and I drove to a neighboring town to have a swearing-in ceremony for us becoming U.S. citizens. It was an exciting day. One of my friends decided to come with us there to share this solemn day with us. She was actually driving us. My other friend, who as my co-worker, came there to surprise us. I had no idea she was coming, and it was a wonderful surprise. As soon as we arrived to the venue, I had my back turned to the building where we were supposed to enter, and I had a deja vu experience.
Starting point is 00:30:59 I knew exactly how this building looked, and I knew that it was surrounded by big trees on the right side, and on the left side there were greenery vines hanging from a tall wall. I was shocked when I turned around and faced the building to confirm my deja vu, and it actually made me slightly dizzy. We finished the ceremony and we're standing in the parking lot. The friend that drove us asked if we should head back to our town and have lunch there or stay in this town and have lunch. My co-worker apologized and said that she needed to head back to work.
Starting point is 00:31:35 It took us a good 15 minutes standing there to decide, and then I almost heard an audible voice say, stay here. So I spoke. We're staying. We had a nice lunch and explored the neighboring town, and then we got a call from my coworker. She said there was a huge accident on her way to town with multiple casualties.
Starting point is 00:31:58 It took her a long time to get home, and it happened right in front of her. I froze. Would that have been us if I did not hear that voice to see? day? Were we just saved by a guardian angel? I may never know, but I am eternally grateful. Good morning, Raven. I believe this will be my second story submitted to you. A while ago, I submitted the story about Rio, my dog, going missing on a live camera through the ring app. Thank you for sharing that with your channel. Thank you for sending it in.
Starting point is 00:32:42 I've been wanting to submit this one for a very long time. But with my work and family matters, it's hard to find time to do so, but today is the day. Also, please excuse any typos or grammar errors as English is not my first language. Now, you're fine. So this happened at a young age, and I would like to say that I was between seven and eight years old. And then the second part of the story, most likely 11 to 12 years old. It was a regular morning when I was around seven or eight, and I got up and I remember dreaming of someone that I, I had no idea who it was. She seems older, and she was sitting on my mother's couch, just talking to me, but I had no clue
Starting point is 00:33:26 who she was. I don't recall the conversation in the dream, but I remember looking at her big hoops on her earrings, her hair in a ponytail, and she wore a brown tight shirt that hugged her chest and a golden chain on her neck. She definitely seemed way older than someone I would play with at the age of seven or so. After waking up, I couldn't figure out who that woman was. I remember thinking that, and I kept asking myself, who was that woman? But then, as a regular kid, I just let it go and blamed it on an odd dream, and then went on with my day.
Starting point is 00:34:06 Then, several years later, and I want to say that I was in my preteen years, my mom and dad had several homes for rental back in the Caribbean, where all this happened. I lived there most of my life. So my parents rented one of the homes to a family of three. It was a woman with a daughter and the woman's sister. They were originally from a different part of the country. I lived in the rural area with my parents, and this family came from the capital. Approximately two and a half hours of a trip from my city.
Starting point is 00:34:41 I met them briefly one day, as I was on my way to school. Back then, no one introduced each other because, first of all, I was a kid, and it didn't seem important to be introduced to anyone. Second, I also think it was mostly a cultural thing. Some people are just rude. Anyway, I would pass every day by their home because I live in the last house, so in order to get out of the street, I had to pass by their house. One morning, I bumped into the daughter. She was 15, and as mentioned before, I was around 11 or so. She seemed nice, and she and I became good friends, since we had the same schedule going to school, we would walk together.
Starting point is 00:35:25 Her name was Gracie. My mom did notice that I was hanging out a little too much with that girl who was a few years older than me, and she also learned that she was telling me inappropriate things about her family and her new boyfriend in town. How did my mom come to know these things? Well, I'll never know. But people always gossip a lot in small towns, so I blame it on the town itself. The gossips were not wrong, though.
Starting point is 00:35:54 She indeed was telling me secrets about her family and how her aunt was a witch, and that they had something evil that was after them. She made me swear that if I ever said anything about it, that something bad would happen to me and my family. I guess pretty much a curse. I never told a soul about her secrets. I mean, not that I can recall it at this point because it was so long ago, but I definitely remember it was some evil stuff that they had going on in their house. I then learned that they were moving again, but right before they were gone from our street.
Starting point is 00:36:30 One day, she came by the house in the afternoon, my mother wasn't home. At this point, my mom had forbid me from hanging out with her because she was way too old, and she carried herself like an older woman, not a 15-year-old. She did seem and act older, and I noticed how much makeup she would add to her face. And how she would go to her boyfriend's house and lock themselves together in the room. She would tell me about her make-out sessions after school. I guess my mother was right about that. You know, not letting me hang out with her.
Starting point is 00:37:04 Those things were not appropriate for an 11-year-old kid. Anyway, not to drag it too much as a little bit of that. at this point, but you may know where this is going. She came by that afternoon and she sat in front of me, and I came in from the kitchen, and she was sitting on my mom's couch. She was talking, and then it hit me. She was that woman that I saw in my dream years ago. Same clothes, same ponytail, same hoops.
Starting point is 00:37:32 She was her. And of course, I freaked out. That's when I told her, I know you. I know you. We already met. This already happened, I said. It felt surreal, and then she says, Oh, that's okay.
Starting point is 00:37:50 That means we were meant to meet. I remember that she said something else regarding the supernatural, but I can't recall the rest because, again, this was so long ago. I do remember how much I panicked, and how scared I became of things like this. I doubted her secrets at some point, but after the dreaming confirmation and seeing her in person years later, this took away most of the doubt.
Starting point is 00:38:17 We live in a weird world. I would like to call the human experience at this point, like some of your other viewers have mentioned to you before. This happened, and honestly, I don't have any idea what the point was of it. Like, seriously, what was the point of dreaming of someone you've never met and then years later that dream coming true?
Starting point is 00:38:39 I find it a bit stupid and frustrating because I don't think I learned anything from it. I mean, I guess I doubt less of the supernatural and the glitches, but that's it. What was the moral of this story? A 15-year-old girl who had a boyfriend and a family with some supernatural secrets? Like, what do I do with that in this life? Well, that was it. I'm sorry if I dragged on for a little too little too little. long, but if anyone has any answers to my questions, feel free to share. This happened to me the same
Starting point is 00:39:26 day as I'm writing this, so this is fresh in my mind. I wanted to share this with you all because perhaps someone else has gone through something similar. Right now, I don't know anyone who has experienced the same as I just did, and I feel a bit confused, to be honest. As a backstory, I bought over a decade ago a messenger bag from a thrift store. It was a brand bag from a Finnish brand, Marimeco. Marimeco items are really expensive, especially back when I was living from one paycheck to another, and I could have never been able to afford any one of their items.
Starting point is 00:40:10 So I was happy to discover the beige-colored Marameco bag with only four euros. Usually even the used bags are from 40 euros on, up to 300. The brand is iconic in Finland and has become trendy again in recent years among teenagers, and young adults, who have especially discovered their tote bags and messenger bags. After serving me really well for the last decade, my poor Merameco bag was in such a poor condition that a pen that I always carried with, with me came through from a hole on the bottom of the bag. It had tears and holes all over.
Starting point is 00:40:53 The snap fastener was about to come off at any moment, and its strap was starting to tear off from its seams. So, I had no other option than to go look for a new bag. I didn't want to buy anything expensive, because I'm still on a hunt for a new Marameco bag from a thrift store or from an online auction with a reasonable price tag. but I couldn't go without a messenger bag of some sort. After searching for weeks, because I'm picky,
Starting point is 00:41:24 I located a simple black messenger bag from a cheap store selling mainly junk. It's not the prettiest bag, but it fits my needs. It seems to be able to withhold rain, and what's best is that it's covered with zipper pockets. I'm a classic woman in a way that I always have so many little things with me, from tissues to small emergency bags and scissors and a small hand towel for public restrooms, and having a lot of pockets on a bag is like winning a little lottery. When I got back home with a new bag, I decorated it with pins, a reflector, and a keychain.
Starting point is 00:42:05 I thought it looked cute, but when I used it for the first time, I realized that I actually want to have a big keychain for the main pocket zipper that I'll be using the most. I like to get a good hold on a zipper, so I always have something hanging on them. Even my wallet zipper has a small keychain to help me open it. Lucky me, I'm a little critter-loving keychains, especially big ones. Mascots, figurines, pom-poms, you name it. I remembered that I have a black, fluffy heart keychain.
Starting point is 00:42:40 I've not used it more than a few times, many, many years ago before I stored it away. to wait for a better bag, so it was almost brand new still. It's still as soft and shiny as the day that I bought it. It's relatively big, around the size of my palms, so I figured that it would be the perfect choice for this new bag. The colors matched too.
Starting point is 00:43:05 I fastened the big fluffy heart on my bag because I didn't want it to fall off and get lost. They don't sell them anymore, you know. Then I headed out to a nearby kiosk to pick up a parcel that had arrived today, as I had to order some items for my mother, as she can't really use online stores or pickup services like these due to her age. To pick the parcel, you need to show a pickup code to the cashier at the kiosk from your phone. Before entering the kiosk, I went to take my phone out to have it ready to be scanned when it's my turn.
Starting point is 00:43:42 But the fluffy heart-shaped keychain had wrapped itself, around the messenger bag's strap. While entangling it to get my bag open so that I can get my phone out, I thought to myself that this was perhaps not a good idea, and maybe I needed a different kind of keychain, something on a shorter chain and easier to grab, like a pom-pom or a flat reflector or something. I managed to untangle the keychain,
Starting point is 00:44:11 get my phone out, and receive the parcel. I put the parcel into my backpack, as it was way too big for my messenger bag, and made a quick stop at a nearby convenience store before heading home. The day was sunny, and as my windows are facing south, I keep curtains closed during sunny weather to avoid my apartment heating up too much, as we have no air conditioners or ceiling fans in this country. This means that while the day outside is sunny and bright, as today in mid-August, my apartment is,
Starting point is 00:44:43 is dim, even during the day. As I got back home and stopped to take off my shoes, I noticed a black bundle on the floor in the dimness of my apartment, further away in the apartment, in the hallway. A small, round, solid black object. I stared at it, wondering for a second if I had somehow dropped socks or underwear on the floor, while knowing for certain that the thing was definitely not there when I left home 15 minutes earlier.
Starting point is 00:45:16 I turned on the lights to see better, and when I got close to it, I kid you not, it was my fluffy black heart keychain, the very same that I had just untangled from my bag's strap 10 minutes ago in front of the kiosk. Shocked and not believing what I was seeing, I took a look at my bag, and sure enough, the keychain's chain was empty. Only the keychain's fastener was hanging from. my bag. It was indeed the very same fluffy heart on my floor. Mysteriously, having arrived at my apartment before me while freeing itself from its chain, I picked the black heart from my floor
Starting point is 00:46:00 in disbelief, muttering out loud that this couldn't be real. I inspected the heart better to see what had it happened. How had it even come off? And it looked like the little string which connected the heart to the keychain fastener, had just been removed without touching anything in the process. I went over the heart, and there was no spot on its fluffy fabric where the string would have been originally glued to. I found no holes from its seams where the string would have come apart. It was a completely solid, complete keychain, albeit now looking like it had always been a stuffed toy. And on my bag, the keychain fastener was hanging with a little string attached to it, which looked like someone had just tied a black string around it neatly for no reason.
Starting point is 00:46:50 There was nothing wrong with them either. So, the keychain just disconnected itself from the chain, without anything breaking. I went over at multiple times trying to find a ripped seam, but there just isn't one. There isn't even a tiny chain. There isn't even a tiny, spot where the soft fluffy fabric would be coarse or damaged to give a hint of possible glue. It's not even dirty or dusty. It's still brand new, like when I attached it to my bag, but now only looking and feeling like a soft heart-shaped plushy. I have no idea how a keychain broke itself free without breaking itself in the process
Starting point is 00:47:32 and made its way to my home floor a while before me. Winnard had just been tangled around my bag's strap a few minutes earlier. First, I thought, after I gathered myself from the initial shock, that perhaps I did drop it. Perhaps the keychain did indeed break apart from its chain, and some kind of spirits or glitch returned it to me, so I wouldn't be sad, but I don't know. The only thing I do know is that the fluffy heart keychain just came off from its holder without any evidence that it was ever, even on a keychain in the first place. There's no way for me to reattach it back to the keychain, unless I buy super glue and hope for the best.
Starting point is 00:48:19 So, I guess I do indeed need the new keychain for the zipper. Perhaps a non-glitching pom-pom this time. So my work consists of reviewing pathology reports. I review biopsies and diagnosis, and if things are being literally reported the way they should, making sure all the patient information is correct. Then I proceed to add the procedure codes and the diagnosis code. As I was coding my cases,
Starting point is 00:49:00 I encountered one that the report clearly stated that it was an enlarged lymph node on the neck. So I proceed to add the biopsies, the diagnosis, etc. And I'm typing my diagnosis, which would be R59.1 for local. enlarged lymph node. So before closing the account, I would go and double-check everything, and the next thing I know is that my diagnosis isn't correct. I see that the code that I entered is not for localized, but for generalized instead. So then I went online to see why there had been a switch, if it's always been like that.
Starting point is 00:49:39 R59.1 for localized and R59.0 for generalized. Mind you, I've been doing this for over 10 years, so when a new code comes in, our system does notify. I'm also aware that every October new diagnosis codes and procedure codes are edited, added, or deleted. Anyway, I went and checked and researched if anyone else had the same issue or if the book itself changed the code. But no, it's always been like this. There were no changes that were made. I called my colleagues and discussed it, and they weren't sure. They didn't contradict me, but did not agree entirely, either, with the code.
Starting point is 00:50:23 They felt a bit odd about it, too. I didn't pursue it further because I was going to be seen somewhat weird. Plus, they would probably say, just code it and go on to the next chart. I know this is pretty mundane, and I'm not trying to take it out of proportion. But it hurts my brain like crazy because it is, wrong. It looks wrong. I meant from a coder perspective.
Starting point is 00:50:51 We all do this all day long and we just know. I have always used this code since it's a pretty common code. I just feel odd about it and there's nothing I can do but accept it and embrace that it changed. If there are any coders out there in the medical field that feel the same way about this, or remember the same as me, please feel free to say something. I can't be the only one recalling this wrong. Can I? Hey, Raven, I've got a glitch for you that literally just happened today.
Starting point is 00:51:32 So, you know, it's a really hot day here in Australia. And every morning around 8.30, I walk my little mate, Charlie the Chug. He's half chihuahua, half pug. And he absolutely loves his morning walks before it gets too hot. We do our usual loop through this forest trail, and it leads out onto this, kind of a random street with this big twisted tree. Well, today that tree was like something out of a Tim Burton movie. Just full of crows.
Starting point is 00:52:03 Like a whole murder of them. Maybe a hundred all perched up there making a racket. And I actually love the sound of crows, so I'm kind of fascinated and loving every second of it. But I could tell they were agitated, not happy at all. So I looked around to see. what was going on and I spot this one crow down on the ground behind the fence in this little wildlife reserve area. It looked hurt. Its feathers looked dull, not the beautiful shiny black
Starting point is 00:52:35 they should be. And it looked skinny like it had been there for a few days. I just felt really bad for it and wanted to help it, so I started calling the wildlife rescue folks, but no one was answering. I figured, okay, I'll just run home real quick, drop Charlie off, grab a box and some gloves, and maybe some food for the crow, and come right back. I was literally gone for like three minutes. But when I got back, every single crow was gone. The whole tree was empty, and even the hurt crow had just vanished. It was the weirdest thing. I looked in the bush on the ground for ages, even making crow sounds and everything. I mean, yeah, they could have just flown away, but not the hurt one.
Starting point is 00:53:25 It felt like a total glitch in the Matrix, like the crows had some special powers they can't show when someone's looking. I still have no idea what happened, but wherever that crow went, I do hope it's okay. Catch you on the flip side, your Aussie mate, Chrissy. Hey, Raven, long time fan. I have two glitch in the Matrix Tales for you. but they're both kind of long, so I'll split them into two different submissions. The one in this submission is just odd to me, but I still think about it a lot.
Starting point is 00:54:09 Back around 2009 or so, I was living in an apartment a little bigger than a motel room. I was new to the place, newly on disability payments and quite poor. I knew exactly everything I owned, which wasn't a lot. This is relevant. I had a very limited wardrobe at the time, too. My closet was mostly empty. Where this becomes relevant is that, one day, I went to get something from my closet,
Starting point is 00:54:40 and there was something new in there that I had never seen before. A purple, tie-dye, sleeveless top. Keep in mind, I was very poor then and had little to my name. I couldn't even remember the last time I had gone clothes shopping, or any shopping other than groceries. But here was a top that I had never seen before and in my size. I run a bit on the large side. I didn't live with anyone else at the time,
Starting point is 00:55:10 had nobody who would visit me, and I didn't buy it. I could not tell you then or now where I would have even have gone to buy such a thing if I could have afforded it. I have thought about this top, which I still have and still occasionally, wear ever since then, because the only explanation I can think of, aside from something weird like Pixies giving me gifts for some reason, is possibly a reverse burglar? I.e., someone breaking into my apartment just to give me a piece of new clothing and leaving no signs of a break in. But it gets weirder. Years later, one strap on the top tour making it
Starting point is 00:55:51 unwarable. I put it aside intending to repair it at some point because I was still poor and couldn't afford to find a new one. I forgot about it for years and then moved into my current apartment. I had moved twice before that, since the apartment I found it in. When I put the top in a box, it was still torn, and when I took it out of the box to set it aside again, it was still torn. Then, like a year later, I picked it up again with the intention to finally repair it, and it wasn't torn. It wasn't that I had repaired it and forgotten about it, or that someone had repaired it for me. I mean, it showed no signs at all of ever having been damaged. But I knew it had been, and recently, because I was really bummed out about not being able to wear it,
Starting point is 00:56:44 but was struggling with my mental health too much to try to repair it. I should note that I do always try to find the most rational answers to questions, and I don't do any kind of drugs. I have nothing against them, they're just not for me. And my mental health issues are just depression and anxiety, nothing that would cause hallucinations or blacking out while shopping. Even if I had blackouts, I literally did not have the money for new clothes when I got it. and to this day I still have no idea what shop one could even get such a top from.
Starting point is 00:57:21 Anyway, that's the tamer of my two experiences. The other one is super creepy. Peace out. Hey, Raven. Me and my mom always listen to your podcast. It's nice and relaxing, but that's beside the point. I'm 11, almost 12. Beta club, academic team.
Starting point is 00:57:51 But even though I'm young, My brother was with me when this happened. I don't know if anyone else has a price less as a grocery store, but I do. And me and my brother had to use the bathroom while my stepdad was shopping. He said okay. And me being excessively cautious and an anxious mess, I had my brother come into the women's restroom with me. I'm a transgender masculine, so gender dysphoria sucked.
Starting point is 00:58:22 Anyway. There was a changing room. and there for babies. After that separate room, there was the stalls with no doors, so I locked the door to the room and made sure that no one could come in. I finished using the restroom and washed my hands when I hear a voice calling me in my brother's name, specifically my stepdad's voice. Freaked out, I keep my brother close while I finish washing my hands.
Starting point is 00:58:49 I gripped his hands and I asked him if he heard that, and he said that he did. We walk out, and we go and find our dad and ask him why he called for us, but what he said left a chill down my spine. He said that he didn't say anything while we were in there, and he said something about how he didn't remember letting us go in there. This is just one of the glitches that has happened to me. Hell, one time me, my brother, and my biological father saw a plane suspended in mid-air. But I still don't use that restroom in there anymore for,
Starting point is 00:59:24 Very good reasons. Hi, Raven. I love your channel and always look forward to new drops. Well, thank you. I'm a big believer in the glitch stuff, and I subscribe to the law of assumption and the belief that our consciousness and thoughts create our reality. I've lost things in the past and told myself that I'll find them, and I've seen them appear out of nowhere.
Starting point is 00:59:56 I've had a couple of glitch and strange experiences in the past, and I might send those in two, but this one was one of the most noticeable ones. A couple of months ago, I was watching a reality TV show with my sister. It was kind of big the whole summer, Love Island. And after the season ended, I remember the hosts saying the reunion would air on August 25th. I didn't think much about it because there was still a while to go before then, and this is where the glitch starts. Every time my sister and I would talk about the reunion,
Starting point is 01:00:31 I would always say it's coming out the 25th, and every time my sister would correct me and tell me that it's coming out the 22nd. She corrected me enough times that I eventually looked it up and saw with my eyes that the reunion would air August 22nd. I have a visual memory, so after I look at something and process it, it's pretty much in my head. I thought that it was weird, but I assumed the reason why I thought it was the 25th. was because it's easier to remember. Then one morning we were together and the reunion came up again. This time I remembered that it was the 22nd, after I had been mistaking it, and finally updated my memory of it.
Starting point is 01:01:17 That's when my sister looked at me annoyed and said, I don't understand why you keep saying that. It's on the 25th. I got so annoyed because she'd literally been correcting me for the past couple of weeks. I saw the date with my eyes on several sites and on the official social media channels. It was the 22nd, but now she was telling me it was the original date that I thought it was. I looked it up again, and now everything said the 25th. I actually felt crazy, and my sister just thought that I couldn't remember right and wouldn't hear the strangeness of what had just happened. I looked it up to see if the dates had been changed, but no, it had always been August 25th.
Starting point is 01:02:06 I think what probably happened was that I was originally in the reality where it was on the 25th, and for one reason or another, I was knocked into the 22nd reality, and because I kept saying it was the 25th, it eventually brought me back to the 25th. This was a light-hearted glitch, so it didn't spook me too much. Just made me question my sanity. Hi, Raven. Long-time glitch listener first time submitting to you. While I feel a bit creeped out by my experience, I'm glad that I have something to send you.
Starting point is 01:02:54 So, to preface, my whole life I have felt connected to spirits or ghosts. When I was young, I had a medium tell me things that no one else knew. which was kind of a life-altering experience. I was raised as a Christian, but I no longer identify as one. I see myself as spiritual due to past experiences and being through some 12-step programs. Believing in a higher power is kind of a must in those. When I was young, my mom tells me frequently
Starting point is 01:03:28 that I used to communicate with ghosts. I would speak to seemingly nothing and see things that others didn't. I had what I considered an imaginary friend my whole childhood, but it was just one girl, a year older than me, with jet black long hair. I can't remember her name, but she felt so real to me, like a guide. My late great-granddad's birthday was October 30th. He would have been 92, and my late cats, who's passed two years ago, birthday is on Halloween. He would have been 17. So this year to combat the grief, I went out to my mom's house for Halloween, and I brought my cat too, a 14-year-old Maine Coon.
Starting point is 01:04:15 Since he's diabetic and needs insulin injections, so my house was completely empty. I live alone with my cat and was recently gifted a security camera due to a stalker X, creepy neighbors, and a bad landlord. My visit went well. I handed out candy to trick-or-treaters, spent the night, and returned the next day around 4 p.m. But when I go to unlock my front door, it's not latched. It just pushes open. I check the handle, which is the only lock that I have on the door, and it's not locked.
Starting point is 01:04:52 My stomach drops. I've already had my landlord let someone go into my home without notice, and he makes me uncomfortable. I instantly go to check the camera history. I never got any notifications last night, but I see a video from the previous night. There was motion detected. Around 6 p.m., there's a short 16-second video that was captured. But when I hit the playback, there's absolutely nothing. I rewatched the clip about half a dozen times, focusing on different areas each time, but there is nothing.
Starting point is 01:05:29 No motion, no movement, no one in my home. The door didn't move at all. Not even a dust particle flying by. I rewatch the next video from earlier in the day, which shows me leaving the house around noon. I watched myself slam the door shut. It's definitely latched without a doubt. How hard I closed the door would have latched the handle. It should not have pushed open like it did.
Starting point is 01:05:57 I have no clue. how my door just pushed open, or what motion my camera picked up. The two birthdays of my deceased loved ones add to the uneasy factor. While I do still feel a connection to something indescribable, it does leave me feeling a bit unsettled. I don't know whether this was a glitch, or maybe a ghost playing tricks on me. I do have a sense within me that Halloween is a day when the veil is thinned, so...
Starting point is 01:06:28 It was. So that was this week's collection of Glitch in the Matrix Stories on the As the Raven Dreams podcast. I hope you enjoyed this collection of glitchy goodness.
