he is he's like the super boss like he's infinitely harder than anything else in the game uh like he has like three times as much health he probably does three times as much damage like he just instantly kills anybody so like moenia well he's kind of like i mean i'm trying to think of a boss that like would really make sense because like moenia has bosses that are like kind of as hard as her but like not even like eishan uh no i mean i i would say something like like a kewlex or something like that in like super mario RPG or um let me think if there's another really good example well i mean there's a dragon in like metaphor uh like the regicide mode right the like super hard mode dragon there's definitely that um yeah red dragon of metaphor yeah that's what i would say

yeah like fatalis fatalis is another good example yeah this is equivalently like this is the fatalis radon's way easier well redon is the end of the get Redon is the end of the... What do you call it? Can I leave this area? I don't think I can. Redon is the end of the game, basically, right? And so because Redon's the end of the game,

it would make sense that he's the hardest boss. But what I'm saying is that, like, in a lot of games, not a lot of games, but in some games, there's, like, bosses that are, like, really, really, like, extremely hard, but you don't have to fight them. And I think Melania is a good example of that. And I think Simon is very clearly, like, this game's version of that.

He's Erling Shen. I don't think Erling Shen is that much... I think him and Wu Kong is the end bosses are about the same, honestly. Oh, there's another... I don't even know where the hell I am. Did you go out of the last boss database to the last phase of this kill?

He does it without scaling, it's very epic. No, I saw, like, a clip of it. Like, that was the only thing that I had seen is, like, the red phase. Because that's why I was, like, kind of worried whenever he died because I was like oh well because I remember seeing like a clip of like somebody doing like the guy

was like spinning and like doing paris really fast and I was like oh okay well you know that must be the last boss right that must be Simon and it said it too and so it was obvious it was him but um did you see old Lumiere's old Lumier's Axeong? Yeah yeah I did

Verso Journal and Forgotten Battlefield I think I got that I'm pretty sure I did But yeah, I do really think this is basically, uh, it's, it, this is, I mean, it's really incredible to me that something like this was created with 30 people. Like, I mean, if you told me this was made by a thousand people, I would say, yeah, for sure. Like, I mean, I'm not even kidding. Uh, yeah, I mean, that's insane. And it's $50, too, which is also what's so crazy about it. And like you have like What it reminded me a little bit of is like all these like little islands and everything

It reminded me kind of like of like a lost art Is remember how like they had like all those like kind of like random like islands that you could go to And some of them had like a bunch of content to them And other ones were just like basically nothing And uh or just like a small area Yeah the islands exactly And I did all those like when it came out I need more out of this studio man

Yeah I mean this is I think this has been though like I think this game definitely like the last big game that I think was on this level was probably Balders Gate 3

and then before that was Elbin Ring and Bald haircut yeah yeah like I don't know it's gonna be crazy if there's another game that comes out that it's like on this level

favorite boss I don't know I'd have to really think about that I don't know I think the painter's was really cool Like, I don't know. Like, some of the bosses I was able to, almost all of the bosses, like, again,

like, whenever I play games like this, I'm pretty good at, like, building characters. And because I'm really good at building characters, it makes it to where I don't have to deal with as much. Oh, I actually never went here. I don't have to deal with as much mechanics because I can just effectively ignore everything. And so, yeah, it's like small things like this, right?

For example. Where it's just like, this is just a small, random area in the game. And there's not really a lot to it. But, like, having things like this, I think does make a big difference. Did you fight Golgher at the second time? Yeah, I beat her. I mean, the thing is, like, I could have beat Simon by parrying him, too. It just would have taken probably three more hours.

Right? I mean, like, that's the truth. I mean, it's a really hard fight. I mean, that's, let's be honest, it's really hard. And so, uh, yeah. Three weeks. maybe, right? But, I mean, I was able to beat Golgha and the Dragon flawless whenever I finally beat them. And so I think it's just like a lock-in situation. Less epic than two-shotting him.

Well, I, to me, like, in a lot of these games, I think what I really enjoy. And I do think the scaling for the game kind of got kind of extreme. And if I was going to criticize one thing, I would say that the number scaling, it went like this. and I feel like that kind of made it hard to balance. And so maybe like, you know, if they... Because like you were hit... Like you were damage capping if you used roulette in like the first act, right?

Almost. I'm pretty sure you were. And with like a virtuoso stance with Mayo. And so... Imagine if there wasn't a cheater picdo. Yeah, that would have been insane. Pain and power should have been later. I actually think that it should have been... I think in general damage caps and games are silly

because I feel like it makes it less exciting whenever you get a really big number if you know that you can only hit a ceiling. That's just my opinion, right? And I'm trying to think about... What's one of that? They use painted power as a difficulty setting? Well, like, but it's not really a difficulty setting, right?

Where, like, you're going from doing you know 10,000 damage to a million damage. Like that's like a 10x, right? I mean, that's a huge, huge difference between the two things. And so I wouldn't really say it's like a formal difficulty increase in like a way that's like natural. Yeah, 100x. Yeah, exactly, right? And so it's just like that's, it's a bit too much, I would say,

for it to be like a difficulty slider. I know what you're saying, and I see what you're saying. but um yeah like i i would say that probably would be the one thing that i i would say probably could have been different or i'd want to see them do differently is like the way numbers would scale knocking damage cap is a jrpg trope well in a lot of jrpgs there isn't there's always a damage cap right it's usually like 999 or like it's either like one under 10 000 or one under 1,000 right like 9,999 is this a 10999? a 10-10 game to you?

Unequivocally, yes. Without even a second of hesitation. This is a 10-of-10 game. Like, if I was going to recommend, like, if I was going to say, like, if somebody's going to play one game this year, like, you want to play one game, this is that game. Is there's all money? Yeah, yeah. I see just winning so much in Game Awards? Yeah, I think so, too. That's on the music.

I mean, I think that the game, like, in general, was a 10 with pretty much everything, right? I think the music was really good. I think that the gameplay was really good. The story was really good. Graphics were incredible. Like, everything was really good. Do you get any merchandise? Yeah, I'll probably get an SGA plushy.

I think so. I think that'd be a... That'd be nice. Yeah, voice acting was good. Yeah, it was really weird to, like, watch this game and, like, play this game after I played Assassin's Creed Shadows, just with how much of a dramatic difference it was. in terms of like difficulty and everything

and like not even that not even difficulty but just like design and like quality right I mean it was just a completely different universe you know like lunae pillow yeah maybe right yeah I could a lunay body pillow exactly would you say this game of the best boss fights ever I mean I don't like doing ever right

because it really just depends on what you what you like but um I think it had incredibly incredibly good boss fights but I think like basically the game was really really well tuned until act three and I think that the tuning after that was kind of like it wasn't as good and that would be probably the main thing

like especially like everything oops music complimented it well too yeah yeah sure but like you guys see what I'm saying right where it's like Jesus fucker didn't die. Act 3 was straightforward. Well, it was, but like what my point is is that

like act 3 was very straightforward and that was good. But the problem is that a lot of people probably would go and do side content and then they would over level it. Like even for me, like when I fought Renoir, like I don't think he even cast any spells in the second phase. He didn't even do anything. And so like and like obviously like the player

and there's a certain degree where it's like, I think you should be able to do that, but I don't think that, I think like you should be able to go off the beaten path would be really, really good. Mova to no damage cat, Twix enemy health, randomizer makes this game so fucking fun. Yeah, exactly, right?

So many things to do with the enemy can't really respond to. Did you find the white never on it gives Luna? Yeah, I killed him. Yep, killed his ass. Did you kill the crows? I shot every single. single one of them. I did. I was like, is this going to work? And then the guy popped up. I was like, yeah, I thought so. No, I did a lot of that stuff off stream. I didn't even really plan on doing

any more this on stream, but since I showed it yesterday and people were pretty excited, I said, fuck it. Like, I'll, uh, I'll stream the rest of the game. You skipped one phase you witness where Simon dispels your complete party, so you have to rely on your reserve team. Yes, I know that. That's why I skipped it. Because, like, I don't know how to play those characters at all. Like, I don't have have them geared at all and so like yeah i i knew that was going to happen that's why i did that that was the like that's working as intended you had no choice yeah i i didn't have those characters geared up so i had to do that he saw it yeah exactly it was surprised if like you weren't getting do simon on stream so i sent you can't twitter dm about it yeah i i think i got it like i haven't

looked at like a lot of i get so many fucking dms sometimes drives me crazy so yeah hope for dLC but no i I do appreciate it, man. Yeah, I mean, like, and honestly, I forgot, like, why I was, oh, yeah, I just, I wanted to play other games in general, right? And, like, that was really the main reason why I took a break and I stopped. Is that, like, yeah, I just wanted to play other things. And, like, I thought today, like, today would be perfect to finish this because tomorrow is Night Rain, and we're going to play Night Rain a lot. And so, like, I was like, okay, this is perfect.

Like, I'm going to do this. I'm going to beat this game. It's going to be finished. I can do new game plus if I want to. And, uh, yeah, maps incredible. Yeah, it is. It really is incredible. Nightmareth Randos. Yeah, hopefully we'll, hopefully we'll cue into Sun Raku again. Simon gets 100 million HP on New Game Plus. Yeah, I mean, that makes sense. Like, I mean, the game is, uh, it's really challenging, right? I mean, I, yeah, it's, it's really hard. Like, I remember, I actually struggled a lot, um, with New Game Plus 3 or 4, Wu Kong. Like, it took, me probably like three hours to beat the boss, even though I had beat him other times before,

because I was at like, I just couldn't trade with him and out heal him. And so I had to actually like play perfectly for a long period of time. You played Wukong three times? Uh, no, four, uh, because you have to go through, it's the base game and then a plus one, two, and three in order to, uh, to unlock Wukong stance in the base game. Who beat in Kazan? No, I have not beaten Kazan. I haven't played Kazan, honestly. The other game I've been playing off stream has been tainted grail Avalon. I've been doing that a lot.

That's, I think, right now, my favorite game to play. Kazan has an annoying difficulty. I don't like the way that Kazan is... I don't like the fact that the bosses have relatively easy attack patterns, but they have very difficult health pools. And it feels like you're kind of... Like, you're executing, like, dodging pretty easy to dodge, like three and four hit combos and then it's just a battle of attrition of you executing this thing

enough times and so like because i think kazan is a base game is incredible like i i it's and it's a it's an incredible game period right it's a great game i'd recommend it but um like and also this is a thing like for me personally like on stream i don't like playing games where like i'm going to spend like three hours on a loss like i just i don't want to do that And so, uh, I don't like Kazan. I need more weapons. Yeah, I mean, I have a great sword, so I, that was enough for me. What are you looking for? Just exploring. Um, I'm just running around and just talking about the game.

With your theory and the writers clan that Claya mentioned in the story? I don't know. Probably just like some, uh, I don't know, actually. I mean, they could take it like 50 different ways. With like the way they wrote this story, I feel like the way that I would understand it, would probably be like totally different. Yeah, it's impossible to know. But yeah, definitely game of the year. I hope that everybody liked the play-through,

and I did the whole thing. I forgot the last time I played through an entire game on stream. It's been probably, you know, probably a really long time. I mean, I guess Schedule 1. And we've got Eldon Ring tomorrow, which is going to be fucking awesome. I'm super excited for that.

It's going to be fucking amazing. and um yeah i loved it yeah exactly right final fantasy yeah eventually i'll play final fantasy again like uh i don't know like maybe play final fantasy seven or something like that but you know i feel like you know if this this is i mean this is the game this is the game of the year game bro like you got to beat the game right you didn't do simon i just did i was able to cheese a lot of it so uh like i i feel like i didn't really do any of the end game fights right I didn't do anything. I just basically was able to build a, what do you call it, a team.

Like, I didn't have to dodge or do anything. But, yeah, anyway, gentlemen, I do really appreciate it. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you guys. And I will be bet this game can easily take half the awards. Yeah, I don't think they're really good at every single award. I feel like that would be kind of like kind of boring to watch.
