basically what happened was that there was a raid that happened in the guild and give you actually one second sorry a little bit of allergies so basically there's a mode in classic world of warcraft that's called hardcore wow and what hardcore means is that if your character dies you lose your character forever no if ands or buts no takesie backsies no um you know well i I can put in a ticket and they'll restore the character. Your character is gone into the void, reduced to atoms. It is deleted no matter what. If your house burns down, your character's deleted. If your dog pushes the mouse button, your character's deleted and it gets killed. Anything that happens will get your character killed, and Blizzard has a policy of never restoring anybody's characters at all.

It will cause people to DDoS the servers if their character dies.

Let's go check my... So I think streamers should get special privileges whenever it comes to, like, being harassed in game. So, like, if somebody is harassing you because you're a streamer, they should treat you differently, but... And they should, like, make sure that they ban people that harass you. And the reason why...

And let me explain the reason why. Here's the logic. Everybody deserves to have an experience the way that a normal person would experience the game. And so, in the case where a streamer receives special treatment for harassment, this is actually making sure that they don't receive special treatment in order to make sure that they have a normal experience. Because if someone is harassing them and going out of their way to attack them and do stuff, they chose to stream though.

Yeah, but like saying that someone chose to stream, so that means it's okay to harass them. I mean, there's no other logic where that makes sense in the person that does it. Like if you leave a PS5 in your car overnight and somebody steals it out of your car, you're maybe you could say, yeah, you're done for doing it. But like if the guy that stole it gets caught, he's going to get in trouble, right? And like, I mean, really, there's no other logical situation where that logic makes sense. But otherwise, zero tolerance or harassment. Yeah, exactly.

And so that's the only circumstance. Other than that, I mean, I think generally, like, you know, streamers are marketing tools. And so that should be the way that they're viewed. Not necessarily, like, you know, as like better been players or anything like that. but the point that I'm making, like, what we're even talking about this for? Who cares? The point is that, no, they're not going to roll back the servers. They can't roll back the servers. Because if they did, they set a precedent that's a massive problems and causes, that causes like seven other problems on top of that. So, yeah.

Where does freedom of speech become harassment? Wherever the company that makes the video game decides, because your freedom of speech doesn't exist in World of Warcraft. You have to abide by their terms of service and they can terminate your, service for any reason that they want. That's it. That's not even real. And so anyway, basically, you know, all things considered,

this is really sad that it happened. It really sucks for only fangs that this happened. I feel bad for them. And the truth is that, you know, this is hundreds, collectively, thousands of people that are, that have put time into this thousands of hours and everything like that.

Nobody cares about this. Like, investors don't care about this. They care about, like, when the next storm out is coming out. They don't give a fuck about this at all. But, you know, these streamers do. They do. They do. for sure and that sucks it really does like i mean i you know i've never played hardcore wow i never would because i think it's just a massive disrespect to your time because of things like this

but um you know the people that do um it sucks that happened to them and uh it's it's it's really disappointing and i feel bad for him it does so yeah and uh i don't know why i've got about stock prices that yeah it's like it's like who do you what do you think they're doing they're like watching the only fangs raid and like the moment they see the DC see they're like sell it all now quick quick we got to sell before it goes down sell all the blizzard stock

You forget a big chunk of the subs are coming from classic and this will hit the bottom line. No, no. Do you really think that there's a lot of people playing hardcore? Hardcore is one percent of one. percent of the player base of wow like if you actually think this has any sort of an impact on the game and the greater scheme of things you are absolutely fucking stupid no this is a tiny fraction that's why they only have like one or two servers for it it's because nobody plays it uh it's interesting to watch and you have a lot of viewership for it because it's a it's fun to watch people do this but it's not actually a game that people are going to play themselves it's entertaining there's a lot of things to watch and there's a lot of things that you want to play that's it Hardcore is less than 2K players worldwide?

So, like, the only reason why this DDoS is effective is because of its timing and the nature of the way it's a denial of service. It's their fault. You can protect against it? I mean, like, really, do you really think that you can protect against it? I mean, I don't know. And, yeah, you can't.

I think that you can and you can't. Like, there are precautions. that you can take, but if somebody is very dedicated, they can do it in certain circumstances, right? It's to a point. And I think also, I bet if I log in right now to Classic Wow, I would be able to play the game. So really, the servers just went down momentarily because Blizzard used to have massive DDoSing problems. You can just roll back that the servers go down. The problem that that causes is that if you roll back every time the servers go down, you're going to have people that are going to DDoS the servers when they die.

I know it sounds stupid, but that's what will happen. That is what will happen. Like for Classic Wild players, and if you play Classic Wow, like, wait, they're going to commit a felony over Classic Wow? Absolutely. Absolutely, they will.

So yes. Or is their experience? Yes, of course. We can't log in. The servers are still shit. That's not how DDoS works. I don't know how it works. All I know is it's not as simple as you make it out to be.

It's not simple, but the reward is they died and it's over. Yeah, that's it. If the reward is they died and they rolled it back and they're all alive, it isn't really worth doing. The problem is that it creates a precedent that the entire community will hate because now everybody is going to have some sort of secondary reason for why it's okay that their character got rolled back.

And then the narrative will be created that now streamers are getting special treatment and then the entire community will hate them because the classic wild community is toxic and it hates streamers anyway. So like it's a massive mistake. Like Blizzard can't do it. it's a bad marketing decision for them to do it. You know, people need to see the bigger picture. Exactly.

That's it. and showcase Blizzard is a bunch of competency to handle DDoS, which turns out that any hardcore character would be targeted and wiped. Well, yeah, but the thing is that hardcore, wow, isn't as big as these people think it is. It's literally a few thousand people that are playing this game.

So they're not going to, like, reorient and, like, direct a large amount of resources to making those people's experience slightly better. It's just not going to happen. Like, and I understand, like, it should happen, right? It would be fair for it to happen. It's just not going to happen. If Blizzard doesn't make this right somehow, it's going to be really hard to convince anyone to continue playing hardcore moving forward. Good, they never should. It's a stupid game mode. It's not congruent to the way the game's designed. Everything about hardcore is antithetical to the way the wow is designed.

You want to play hardcore wow. Go ahead, play hardcore wow. But you're playing it and you're just making mistakes, right? It's a stupid game mode. Yeah, it is. It is. That's the way it's designed. This is such a dog shit take. It is. sorry, it's not. No, the game is the game's not designed for hardcore. If you take a game and then you turn it into a hardcore game, you're going to have problems.

It's undeniable that you have problems with hardcore wow. If you think that hardcore wow, the game was designed to be like a nobody ever dies type thing, then why do you have mechanics like a living bomb on veil? Well, I'll tell you,

I could go back. If you have DC protection, then you're going to have people that abuse it when they get themselves in bad situations. If you have a disconnect macro, then you're going to have people again that will abuse it. Like,
