I think it'll probably be, my expectation is I think it'll probably be okay.
I'm not expecting it to be like crazy, super good.
I just think it'll be okay.
But I could be wrong.
It could be crazy, super good.
I guess we're about to find out.
I think this is a game that like I would play it for the story.
So if the combat's at least to six, I would take it.
That'd be fine.
All right, let's see it.
Likely mature.
Ever get that feeling that someone is watching you, even if you're like to play alone?
No matter the play style you decide on, it's all about immersion.
Yeah, okay. Stop here.
We did our best to create the world which feels real.
Uh-huh.
There's one more thing we have to do.
June 21st.
Wait, that's today.
The gameplay reveal event.
Okay, this is it.
This is right now.
It's happening.
At this very moment.
Hi, everyone.
And welcome to the blood of Dawnwater.
her gameplay reveal event.
My name is Dominica.
I'm the community lead
here at Rebel Walls
and I am joined by a familiar face
content creator, streamer,
YouTuber and my co-host
for today, Lionheart.
Thank you so much, Dominica.
And hello everybody.
How's the volume?
You are joining us here live.
I think it's a little bit.
I turned it up a bit.
Rebel Wall Studio once again
and this time on the first day
of the astronomical summer.
Astronomical...
Dominic, you guys really do think
about these stream dates, don't you?
Yeah, I think...
Wait what?
makes it a bit more fun, you know.
We are going to talk about magic today, among other topics.
And what's a better occasion than the summer solstice?
This is supposed to be the day when our connection to magic is the strongest,
and we have all these different rituals and celebrations connected to it,
and to the sun and light in general.
That's true.
I thought the church sorted all this stuff out a few hundred years ago.
They still bringing this up?
I want to thank all of you for joining us live today, whether you're watching along in our own stream,
or with one of the wonderful content creators who decided to co-stream this event.
That's me.
Welcome in everybody.
That's me.
Hi.
But perhaps this is the first time that you have seen anything related to the Blood of Dawn Wall.
You should play the trailer.
So, Dominica, how about we catch them up?
Of course.
Just play the trailer.
The Blood of Don Walker is the first chapter of a brand new role playing saga created by us here at Rebel Wolves.
And it's a dark fantasy, narrative-driven, epic adventure.
I mean, that sounds good.
You know, and it's...
Appealing to me.
...twist, and it's...
Yeah, it's great.
It is going to be quite the game.
And if you didn't see the previous stream,
perhaps you can check out the YouTube channel as well.
The Dormwalker YouTube channel has all the information from the previous stream.
You will be able to learn more about the world
and also like the main concepts of the game as well.
But that was last time.
Dominico, we know why everybody's here today.
So they're just going to show, they're going to get right into it.
I like that.
We have a lot to show you and a lot to talk about.
So why don't we just jump straight into it?
No, no, no, no.
We have to tease them at least a little.
Of course, we're going to drag it out.
We are going to show you some gameplay, but we've got to pull it back just a tiny bit.
Let's give them.
That's good.
You're going to stall a little bit.
Yeah, okay.
So first straight out of the gate, it is that gameplay.
Great.
Yes.
You'll see 19, 20 minutes of gameplay in total.
We are going to show you a fragment of a quest,
but we'll be focusing on the gameplay features,
and not on the story, not to spoil anything for you.
You'll see two examples of how we can approach that one quest.
First, from the perspective, with Kuan as a human,
with his sword fighting skills and magic, of course.
And then during the night,
he's a vampire.
some vampiric abilities at his disposal.
Looks like you're going to get to see a little bit of everything.
And what you're going to see, all of it is taken in engine, right?
Yes, we recorded it on PC, on a build from last week, actually.
Okay.
We want to show you what the game looks like right now.
And yes, you'll see some glitches and imperfections,
but this is not the final product, of course.
Oh.
You know, we'll be entering the beta stage of the stage of the,
development soon, so you can, we have a lot of polishing still to do.
Is the volume well?
Next iterations of animations, lighting, visuals in general, and optimization, of course.
Of course, but I think it's really refreshing that we're going to get to see where the game
really is right now, rather than where maybe it might be if we weren't using the engine.
I think it's really good and deserves some props for that.
I think that's really, really cool.
But of course, we are not just going to give you gameplay
and send you off into the night.
That would be crazy.
We have some very, very talented devs here at Revelwolves,
and what we're going to do is we're going to get some insight from them.
They're going to dive deeper into all of this content,
all of the footage you're going to see.
We're probably watch the gameplay and then see...
I don't know if I'll watch the whole thing.
And of course, the combat as well.
Yeah.
But there is more.
It would not be a Rebel Wolf stream
without an extra special performance, right?
It will be super special.
I cannot wait for you guys to see it,
but that's not all.
True, it just keeps coming.
In the last couple of weeks,
we've been hosting a Q&A
over in the Discord
for the Blood of Dorm Walker
and Dominica and I
are going to do our very best
to answer as many of those questions
as we can throughout the course of the stream.
We will also have some people
checking in on the live chats,
so do get some questions there.
You never know.
They might just make it through to us.
Yeah, okay, so without further ado, let's see some gameplay of the blood of Don Walker.
Here we go.
And for those of you wondering, yes, it will be available in 4K on YouTube right afterwards.
Okay, take it away.
Let's get it.
So this is the gameplay.
Oh, actual gameplay footage, okay, so it's not like a weird vertical slice tech demo thing.
At least that's what they say.
Hello, my name is Daniel Sadovsky and I'm DHSI.
the design director at Rebel Wolves.
I'd like to welcome you to the Blood of Dawn Walker summer gameplay video.
Our game is a story-driven, open-world dark fantasy RPG set in medieval Europe.
The game is currently in pre-Beta stage.
And what we are going to show you is just a part of one of the mid-game quests.
It's a really cool story involving legendary swords and a haunted omshouse.
But today, we'll focus on showcasing our gameplay systems.
All right, let's get it.
We're starting on the outskirts of Svatro, the game's largest city and the capital of Vail Sangora.
From here, we could head anywhere the eye can see, explore ancient ruins or sabotage vampire
blood transports.
But it's not just about where or when you go.
It's also about how you approach the main quest and shape the story, making each play-through
uniquely your own.
For now, we're following the road.
Rowan is on his way to the city's cathedral, chasing leads about a powerful weapon set to be hidden in its crypts.
This looks good so far.
But first, we'll have to deal with some bandits who camped out by the main road.
Oh, okay, so we're gonna get combat immediately.
Traveling through Vail Sangora is never boring.
The world is dense with quests, random encounters, and locations steep in lore.
This will be a great opportunity to show you our combat system.
Our goal is to make the player feel like a real swordmaster who closed the player who closed
Wait, how's this work?
We'll begin this fight by using acrid dust to stun one of the enemies.
Now, when you attack, you choose one of all directions.
So it's like, kingdom come.
Left or right.
Yeah.
In order to hit the opponent where he's enabled a parry.
You see that?
Similarly, when defending, you have to take note of the enemy's intent and the direction of the attack.
Right, right, yeah.
On the left side of the screen, just above Cohen's health, you have activation charges that will be filled in,
with each successful attack, Block and Perry.
Once they are full, you can use one of the active abilities,
which allow you to take a more tactical approach to fighting.
Wait, he just cut his head off?
He started the fight by throwing some acrid dust.
And now let's cast burning blood.
It's a hex which boils the enemy's blood and burns their skin.
That sounds pretty bad.
...dial damage over time.
So it's a dot.
Damn, he just goes arm right off.
Time to finish this fight.
Let's use the final activation charge
to cast the artery attack, which...
Oh!
Which actually decapitated the last opponent.
Our hero quickly dispatched the bandits,
so let's loot a few items.
That's pretty good.
They've left behind and open the inventory.
First of all, let's replenish our health by eating something.
And then take a closer look at this cool-looking weapon we just picked up.
Yeah, all right, let's see it.
The chopper.
Ah, it has better stats than our...
current weapon so let's equip it right now okay he's got it we've also leveled up so let's use this
opportunity to spend the newly acquired skill point in one of cohen's skill this seems like a pretty
traditional skills in the blood of don walker there's like 50 games that have this
three trees pretty simple one for human one for vampire and one shirt between the two
we also have an active abilities panel we can use it to unlock additional abilities to use during
Yes, it's not really innovative, it's fine.
Not everything has to be.
The health bar is not regenerating.
You need to find consumables like the one we've just eaten.
The hexes we've just used also consume some of Cohen's health.
That makes sense.
He's using his blood.
The way our magic system works, there's always a price to pay for manipulating reality.
But we can make its sting a bit less.
Let's level up the frugal witchcraft skill, so next time we'll cast a hex, it'll consume fewer
of Cohen's health points.
Okay, that makes sense.
Now that we've wrapped up the encounter with the bandits, we can be on our way to get inside the city.
Right now, Cohen hasn't done enough to ruffle the vampire lord's feathers, so the gods will just wave us through.
But the more damage you cause, the more suspicious and aggressive they'll become.
So when you play the game yourself, you'll have to decide whether you want to challenge the vampires openly,
or lay low until you're ready to strike and surprise them.
Okay.
I think visually this looks pretty good.
Like this isn't like next generation's super hyper-realism.
But this is good.
This is the rich district of the city.
Silver Christ.
It passes the base test, you know?
Noistadt and the middens.
Passes the vibe check.
Yeah.
Each of the boroughs has its own feel and character.
The lighting's dull.
I think it has that.
I think it's supposed to be like that.
Like, I mean,
This definitely isn't like a high fantasy.
Looming high over the city is Brances's castle.
Graveberg.
He took it over when he slaughtered the human ruler of the valley, Skender,
as shown in the trailer we shared with you earlier in January this year.
That was the bald guy.
In order to complete the main quest and save your family,
you'll have to storm the castle, alone or with help of friendly NPCs.
We could do it right now if we wanted.
So is it like a persona?
But it would be super challenging.
Persona or like metaphor, it has like 22 days left.
I wonder if the whole game's going to be like that or some things.
Like a calendar-based gameplay, right?
The cathedral is really close.
There's plenty of other places to see and things to do here.
That's a big fucking area.
A couple of inns, a medic, a blacksmith, an armorer and other merchants.
Yeah, sure.
I mean, every game's like this, okay?
You can see that not only the vampires came out of the
shadows this creature on the right is called an uriash look around especially at night and you'll
learn humans have lots to fear not just the vampires so you got other demons and shit like that
other bad boys the tower seems quite it towers the town's dead and here we can see guards pounding
on some poor guy's doors yeah like i feel like games like oblivion are the that's really the
pinnacle of this type of uh it's just one of many different community scenes
we're implementing in the game.
Watch them closely when you play.
As they might point you to new quests
and hidden treasures or signal changes
in the game's world.
I haven't played that enough.
Ouch.
Okay.
That's Skyrim?
I haven't played Skyrim.
I only played Oblivion.
I played Skyrim for five minutes and I said,
I'm wasting time.
I could be playing Wow right now when I quit.
Oh shit.
Okay.
That's like the Notre Dame Cathedral, right?
We are at the Cathedral gates.
Again, since Cohen isn't wanted by the vampire regime, and it's daytime, we can simply walk inside.
Oh, it's a cinematic.
I think I'll kill somebody in church?
So this is, yeah, this is actually in game.
This looks decent.
They can learn about Jesus.
The baptism of a newborn is a solemn moment.
Doubly so.
A new life joins our flock, bringing happiness to its parents and to the congregants.
obligation.
This is why we had this

Yeah
We took care of this a long time ago
I was about to say amen
Oh
Okay, watching 1080P. It's the highest quality.
Hmm. Don't I know you from somewhere, young man?
Lasley or maybe?
I'm sorry, but you must be mistaken.
Am I? Perhaps. Perhaps.
My memory isn't what it used to be.
Dialogue seems okay.
I'll take your confession.
Ooh. Very well. Do it.
Thank you. But I have no need for confession.
Damn.
But you deem your conscience clear?
But you just killed three people.
You just...
I wouldn't get that far.
I'm sure you're a busy man.
But I thought I just killed three people.
So why I appreciate the offer, I feel that my soul shouldn't be your priority.
I won't press the matter.
This is good, yeah.
You are quite correct.
I have many other duties to attend.
He busy.
But please remember that in order to be saved,
we all need to repent.
myself included
I hope we can speak again soon
good day to you
uh Cohen
how do you know is
wait do you say his name
what we saw right here was just one of many
cutscenes we recorded for the game
which smoothly transitioned into a dialogue scene
yeah that looked good we use cutscenes to highlight key scenes
or showcase interesting bits of lore
like this blood baptism
creepy
Isn't it?
The core feature of the blood of Don Walker is the dual gameplay loop.
Okay.
Remember, Cohen may be a human during the day, but he turns into a vampire at night.
I do the same thing.
And has a different set of skills at his disposal.
And this is just one variable that affects our quests.
Depending on when you tackle a particular quest, what choices you've made earlier,
whom you befriended, or whom you've angered, your gameplay and story experience.
will be very, very different.
So each quest is a complex structure with multiple possible paths leading to the end goal.
Okay.
We maximize players' freedom and agency, offering you a narrative sandbox to play in.
I love games to do that.
I wonder what secrets may be concealed up there just beyond Cohen's reach.
Yeah.
And how do we get there?
Climb up the pillar.
It's impossible to do during the day, but come night, it's an entirely different story.
Oh.
Let us explain what we mean by taking our...
taking our current quest as an example. During the day, we got inside the cathedral without any problems,
since it's open for all to see and Cohen doesn't yet stand out from the crowd. Yeah. The scaffolds,
though, are outside of his reach. But climbing them won't be a problem for the vampire,
who has many more exploration abilities at his disposal. So now he's in demon mode. Bear in mind,
Cohen has not completed the quest yet. What's more, there are still a few clues to
be found in order to solve this story.
Oh shit, there's two moves.
It's worth mentioning that narrative sandbox also means that we may completely abandon
this quest and follow a different path to defeat Brenzis.
For today, we're focusing on the gameplay part, so let's see how we could tackle this particular
quest during the night.
We're starting right after dusk as a vampire on the rooftops of Svartrow.
Right now we have 22 days left to complete this goal.
This counter is always displayed.
and you'll be warned each time it's pushed forward.
That would make sense.
So you have to be aware of the time,
and it's more of a resource you'll be spending than a racing clock.
We'll see.
Yeah, I didn't like that in metaphor.
As a vampire, you'll see and experience the world
from a different perspective.
You can travel quickly and easily access places
beyond the reach of regular humans.
Let us show you what we mean.
This is shadows.
It was tightly organized, right?
A unique vampiric ability.
allowing Cohen to jump to almost any place within his reach.
Now, let's take a good look around using the focus mode.
So what's this? Oh, you can see the blood.
This ability highlights objects of interest and loot.
That's a dead guy.
And there is something right here.
Loot him.
This time it's just some items to grab, but on other occasions, who knows,
you might come across a hidden quest.
Wow.
Looks like our health is quite low.
This is because as a vampire, your health bar also represents your hunger level,
and you start each night first thing for blood.
Remember, you have to quench this appetite in order to make full use of your vampire abilities.
So you have to kill somebody?
And drain in your monstrous nature around NPCs.
Otherwise, you may end up draining someone important,
which may lead to unpredictable consequences.
Oh, shit.
We'd better feed them.
Maybe on someone who is standing all alone.
Why don't we kill like a homeless person?
Yeah, it's like a drunk homeless person.
Get him.
And use voracious bite ability.
Okay.
Unless you lose control due to hunger, you get to decide how much blood to drink.
Oh.
You can drain just a bit and knock your victim unconscious.
Or go all the way and kill them.
Damn.
And if you're adamant, you don't want to hurt innocent humans,
you can drink from animals and some other creatures.
Damn!
Finally, we are at the cathedral, but it seems to be closed for the night.
That's cool.
And the entrance gate is well guarded.
Let's find another way in.
Okay.
Just teleport up to the top.
Wouldn't they be kind of, I mean, would they be worried about like a vampire walking up to the church or like would they?
Okay, like not really though.
They don't really, they're not paid enough for that.
They don't care.
Shadow Step is not the only vampiric ability you're going to learn during your play-through.
Cohen can also use plane shift to scale walls and even ceilings smoothly.
And so would that stress people out? Yeah, it did. People ran away.
This will allow us to explore every nook and cranny of the cathedral.
Okay. It feels like playing at night, it's just better.
You know? Like, yeah, this is way better.
Oh, what's this?
What's this?
Damn, he's in a...
Boyer is Xanthi.
Just go kill him.
What is she doing?
Is that a ritual for the blood guards?
Oh.
Get on a chandelier.
They're covering out the old paintings.
They don't want Jesus to see it.
Lookers must have left it.
Seems that the cathedral complex is quite big.
What for the blood god? That's what they said.
The entrance to the crypt could be any one.
to the crypt could be anywhere.
So far, this looks good.
I'm just standing around.
What are you guys saying?
This was a scene investigation,
a mechanic we used to zoom in on and showcase key clips.
Yeah, this is good.
This time, we had a chance to learn more about the vampire's plans.
Looks like they're keen to cover up the old frescoes,
so that's something we could take a look at.
This way, we could learn more about the cathedral's past.
That's dope, yeah, this is good.
Looks like we aren't alone here.
Underneath us, there's a group of blood guards.
Soldiers hooked up on vampire blood, which makes them stronger.
Oh shit.
And one of Brinces' vampire allies.
It's Zanthi, the oldest vampire in Vail Sangora.
Should we kill her?
And quite a powerful lady.
Just go down there, kill her.
Let's descend and check what's going on.
Wait, we're just going to show up?
Wait, wait, he just walks in?
Oh, no, no, no, my. He's hiding.
She better be hot.
God damn it.
Don't think I don't see you skulking in the shadows.
Oh damn.
Come out.
You're interfering with my task.
Who are you?
It doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter.
Very well.
I don't have time for interruptions.
She's told me.
Let us dispose of him.
Oh shit.
Cohen is using his claws to attack when in Vampire.
vampire form.
Oh, damn, Wolverine!
Blood guards are dual wielding opponents.
Their attacks are pretty strong.
Of course, even when fighting with
Klaus, combat is still directional.
Don't worry,
Cohen can still use his sword as a
vampire. This has, uh, the
recovering health
has like a blood-borne type mechanic
of like the rally mechanic.
When he takes damage, you'll see.
Only after defeating all three of the blood guards,
Zanthi beams Cohen worthy of a challenge,
and she descends to face him.
Yeah, watch.
She uses her blood control powers to cast a multitude of attacks,
like her blood whips that hit Cohen from left and right.
It's not doing any damage.
Zanthi is protected by a powerful vampire ability.
Yeah.
Once her stamina runs out,
Cohen will have an opportunity to strike and deal some damage.
Damn, she got no help.
Zanthi is quick to counter attack,
and she will also try to restore her blood.
Oh.
Meanwhile, look at the indicator just to kill that.
and stamina. It's a timer for the boiling blood skill that you've seen in the CGI trailer.
So if we don't hurry, the timer goes down to zero and Cohen will eventually explode.
And we're dead. Remember, we are only midgame here and Zanthi is one of the games most punishing
enemies. Defeating her right here and right now is very much possible, but it would be hellishly difficult,
A fun challenge for hardcore players.
Damn.
You have to like one-shotter.
And we are back and I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did.
Now, I've been lucky enough to see this footage.
That was pretty good.
I feel like I get excited over something different every single time I see.
Super dark.
Yeah, no, the game is dark in general.
Okay, you know me too well.
Okay, so what's your favorite part so far?
So far, I think the day and night side.
The main place is basically Witcher 3, but maybe a little bit better.
Feel so different with I complete in the day.
I could be walking into the cathedral.
Yeah.
No problem.
I meet suspicious priest man.
Flores, isn't it?
That's it, suspicious priest man.
He's more fluidity in combat.
I can't walk through the doors.
I have to jump through the rafters.
I'll turn this down a little bit.
They're just yapping right now.
But it's a little bit improved Witcher 3 combat.
Yeah, I mean, Witcher 3 just came.
I mean, it came out 10 years ago, right?
And so, like, you'd expect to see a little bit of an improvement.
But overall, I mean, like, if I saw this and the game came out, would I play this game?
I think I would still play the game because I think that the story is interesting.
So I would probably try it out for that reason.
It just seems like I feel like they're doing a couple of things that I feel like if you're willing to do this,
you're probably kind of good at telling stories, kind of how they, like, they basically perverted a number of,
like, you know, Catholic, fucking, what's the called, like, I guess, like, traditions.
And, like, turned them into, like, vampire things, which I thought was kind of interesting and cool.
So I could assume, like, maybe this would be good, right?
And rituals, yeah, like, that seems kind of interesting.
And so somebody willing to do that, maybe it could be well-designed or interesting.
Ideal's doctrines, yeah, exactly.
It looks really dark.
Of course, you're shooting the back on your camera, super dark.
Yeah, no doubt.
I mean, I think that's the case too.
If the game goes hard in the dark fantasy, I'll absolutely buy the game.
I'm worried about the 22 days left thing.
Well, the thing is, like, in games like persona, I'm speaking secondhand, and in games like metaphor, I played a lot.
The calendars are not a problem if they have a little bit of leeway to them, right?
But the issue is that, like, sometimes calendar events and, like, calendar games, you have to, like, regiment and plan out and triage every second.
every moment of your time.
And I think whenever you have to do that,
that's really frustrating
and it makes the game less fun to play.
So which one is this going to be?
I don't think we really know right now,
but that's kind of the way that I see it,
is that I hope that's what happens,
but I guess we're going to have to wait and find out.
Let's see, you need to have a week or so of extra time.
Yeah, at least like four days, right?
And so, yeah, I mean, overall,
I mean, it can be stressful.
Yeah, and it also has to, it'll force you into, like, gameplay.
Like, it's one of the things I never really liked about Majora's Mask.
Is that, like, I didn't like that it forced you into gameplay with Majora's Mask.
So do it early.
You got no problem afterwards.
Well, no, because, like, then that could advance some other part of the story,
or then there could be another activity that has some sort of calendar lockdown for it.
But overall, I mean, will it be optional?
Yeah, I mean, we can go back and look at, like, all this other stuff.
But I basically just wanted to watch the gameplay reveal.
it looked good
I think that it looks promising for sure
so we're going to have to wait and see
kind of what happens right
I was about the same of drawers mask
yeah exactly
just finished my first playthrough of metaphor
90 hours only missed two quests halfway through the Coliseum
didn't miss much yeah yeah
and what's this here like I said six out of ten at best
I think that this game will have
six to seven out of ten combat
eight to nine narrative
probably seven to eight graphics
and I would say probably like an 8 to 9 overall.
Like this game does look like it'll be an 8 to 9 level overall game,
but I guess we're just going to have to wait and see.
But that's generally the way that I feel about it.
The gameplay trailer looks pretty good.
They're probably going to go through a bunch of questionnaires,
and based off of like the way they were talking about it,
it's going to go, this is going to go on for like forever, right?
And so I don't want to look at everything right now.
But yeah, that's about it.
And 22 days seems like a lot of time, though.
Well, I mean, I played metaphor.
and like you would have like 40 days sometimes but like things would take like three days just for you to get to like one location so you would think that it's a long time but it's actually not as long as you would imagine so yeah
