Are you ready for an unforgettable, unbelievably chaotic and dramatic week?
Me either.
Hi, this is the astrology of the week ahead podcast.
I'm your Astro Bestie, Channing Nicholas, just reading the stars with you and also feeling
overwhelmed and also feeling interested in how it'll all turn out.
I don't know. I'm just at the point now where I'm like, okay, this is the ride we're on.
This is the ship we're in. We are here. And every week feels like it's going to be some new, big,
adventure, if you will. This week, we have a big, huge, chaotic full moon in Leo.
So it's chaotic because it's sitting in an exact, exact, like within a degree square to Uranus.
Uranus is a planet of upheaval and change and awakenings and truth telling.
And it really can spur us into action because things get jostled around.
it does feel like earthquake shaking us awake type of energy.
So there's definitely something here that's loud because it's a full moon in Leo.
And Leo knows how to what?
Get attention.
It knows how to be cute.
It knows how to be charming.
It knows how to be alluring.
It knows how to both project light and stand in the best light possible.
I mean, it's very talented.
It is a sign that,
will get attention. So a full moon in Leo is like, hey, let's pay attention to something. Now,
it's a full moon in Leo in this exact square to Uranus. So it feels like a moment of like
extreme situations that are built to last. This is happening in fixed signs. Fixed signs are
sturdy and they're confident and they're steady in a way. So they don't break from, they don't
change. They don't leave the movie early, even if it's horrendous. They stick it out. You know what I
mean? So there's something that is lively and there's something that is yes about change,
but change in a fixed type of way. It's going to cause a lot of friction.
And again, it's going to be loud.
Uranus is loud and fire signs are loud.
So the moon, the full moon being in Leo, the fire sign, right?
Because it's ruled by the sun, which is of just a big ball of fire.
And square Uranus, the planet that is like a jackhammer.
Like, it's just really loud.
And so if like the jackhammer earthquakey energy is fixed, then it's going to like drill down into a certain scenario.
situation and like make a point. So Leo is definitely about leaders and it's about our own leadership,
right? It's about coming into our own sense of leadership. It's about waking up to our own
leadership. And then on a collective level, I'm sure that like every day from now until God knows
when the leaders of the world, leaders in the world will pull some pranks. And,
maybe do an about face or maybe do something that is loud and disruptive and chaotic. But it is
also calling us all to be the leaders that we need to be in our own life. Because we can sit around
and have a lot of opinions and complaints about how people are leading a nation, a city,
a company, a school, a whatever. Then that might be very yes, like on point and,
great point and we do something about that. And then it's how we lead in our own life and lead
in our own selves and lead in each and every moment that matters. That's the only place we have
control and it's the only place we have power. And that's what Leo teaches us. Because Leo is
about leadership. It's about being a leader. It's about being the one who's, you know, shining and
pulling focus. So beat by beat, this is how.
how the astrology goes. On Sunday, just on the 9th of February, we had the Mercury Sun Kazimi,
which is a moment of insight. And that Kazimi is square Uranus. So on Monday, Mercury makes a square
to Uranus and gives us some kind of breakthrough or unsettling news or some kind of
announcement that upsets the status quo or upsets our plans or changes everything. And again,
on Tuesday, the sun makes that same square to Uranus. Because the sun and Mercury are together
and they're making the square, but it's exact Monday and Tuesday. Monday with Mercury,
Tuesday with the sun. And then the 12th, Wednesday is the full moon. So we're just from Sunday
the 9th through to the 12th, we're just in this like,
really electric moment where it feels like everything is really alive, like there is a very
wild windstorm of communications, of announcements, of breakthroughs, of maybe some truths being
revealed, punctuated by the full moon, pulling focus in a very dramatic way.
Now, the last time we had something happen in Leo that was really important was Mars
stationing retrograde.
Mars stationed retrograde on December 6th.
And not sure if you remember 7,000 years ago, which was December 6th, that's how it feels
at this point.
But that's when Luigi Mangione entered the scene.
And all of the things that transpired with him happened.
And it was a lot of things, obviously.
I was really kind of like wowed by the astrology because it was Mars stationing or retrograde
in Leo, a really flashy sign.
And Mars is a planet that punctuates and that punctures.
and that is about violence and is about something harsh, right, or challenging or life-threatening.
So the situation that occurred was what it was and also the flurry of attention that he got and the kind of like mythic nature that his story took on.
and the ways in which everyone was very enraptured by how beautiful he is and how magnetic and how dramatic
and how dramatic the story was and all those things. So that was the last thing that was really
big that happened in Leo. This is the next thing. Now, it's not as big because we have a full moon,
like astrologically speaking. It's not as rare, I should say, because we have a full moon in Leo once a year.
But that was a big thing, and this is a loud thing, we should say. I could say, I'm going to say.
This is a loud event happening in Leo. It's not a soft event happening in Leo. And of course, the moon goes through, has been through Leo since Mars Station retrograde there. But a full moon happening there in an exact square to Uranus is definitely making sure that we pay attention to what is happening because it's going to be loud.
It's like, look at me.
That's the kind of vibe that this moment has.
So I don't know if there'll be something that circles back to what was occurring in the beginning of December, either in our personal lives or in our collective situation stories, the unfolding events of the world, or if this will be like another moment that just feels really magnified for all of us.
But it does look like the circus is back in town.
The drama is dramaing.
and the people that like to pull focus will be.
And it's about how we want to pull focus
and what we want to pull focus towards
and how we want to shift attention.
On Friday, the 14th of February,
heart, heart, heart, heart, heart emoji.
Mercury will move into the very poetic,
very delusional sign of Pisces.
No offense, Pisces.
But Mercury is said to be in not only its,
detriment here, but also its fall. So this is not good for facts and data, like,
like Sunday and maybe even Monday and Tuesday are, we could say. Like we go from like really
clinical, scientific, intellectual communications into poetry. So we're into myths, we're into
poetry, love it. We're into the dreamscape. We're into very like David Lynchian type of
communications with Mercury in Pisces.
Okay. I'm going to transition now. I'm going to transition to the part of the program that is about like
ask me anything. And I want to talk about a question that came in about this Mars retrograde. And I want to
say this, for the next month, four weeks, Mars is basically hanging out at the same degree. And the degree is
17-ish degrees of cancer. Mars is going to slow all the way down. It's going to station
direct next week on February 23rd. But it's basically just hanging out at this 17th degree
of cancer for four weeks. Y'all, that's bananas. And this is what happens when Mars stations
when it changes signs.
But if you have something, 16, 17, 18, 19 degrees of cancer,
but really like 17, 18, 16, 17, 18, let's put it on those three degrees.
You're going to feel this.
And, you know, a lot of you won't have it anything there.
But if you do, please go check your.
chart on the Chani app or on channey.com and see if you have a planet or a point or anything
around this degree because Mars is just going to be sitting there. It's just going to be
grinding its high heel into that planet or point. And it's really important for us to do some
really good excavation work, to do some digging work, to do some poking around work.
in terms of whatever Mars is sitting on.
Now, you don't have to have anything at 17 degrees of cancer because 17 degrees of cancer
falls in everybody's chart somewhere.
It might be an empty space, but it's still there.
It's still in a certain part of your chart.
So for Ares rising, that's the fourth house of home and family,
Taurus Rising, that's the third house of communications, daily rituals, siblings,
and extended family and good friends that feel like siblings.
For Gemini Rising, it's the second house of money, assets, resources, how you make a living,
what you do with your stuff.
Cancer Rising, it's your first house of body and self.
Leo Rising, it's your 12th house of behind the scenes stuff, hidden enemies.
I know that sounds weird, but it really is like the hidden enemies either in yourself,
like in your own psyche, like your own self-sabotures.
Or, you know, I don't love to talk about this kind of stuff,
but people that don't have like goodwill for you.
We need to understand when and where that's true.
Sometimes when something happens significant in our 12th house,
we can be like, oh, I thought that was we were, but we were not.
Okay, good to know.
Then we get to Virgo Rising.
That's, this is Mars stationing, just sitting in your 11th house of friends and groups
and associations.
Libre Rising, this is your 10th House of Career, Public Rules, Reputations, How the World Sees
You. Then we've got Scorpio Rising. This is your ninth house of long-term plans. What is
meaningful to you? Publishing, teaching, learning, spirituality, your dream life. Please,
pay attention to your dreams. Please, Scorpio Rising, pay attention to your dreams.
Saj Rising, this is about eighth House of Grants, Funding.
taxes, debts, loans, pay attention to all that financial stuff and just know that if something
is sticky there, it will move, but it might take a couple of weeks. It's also your eighth house
of grief and realizing what it is we still have yet to grief. We all have grief. It's the
human condition. Capricorn, seventh house of relationships. Commitments, committed partnerships.
Business, platonic, personal, romantic, doesn't matter.
whoever you're committed to. It's where Mars is just hanging out there. Aquarius rising. We've got your
sixth house health. Really want you to pay attention to your health, inflammation, anything that feels
like too riled up in your system, we've got to like bring it down, but also work and work life
and stress and managing and being of service, managing all that. Then we've got Pisces rising.
This is your fifth house of children, the children in your life, any children you might work with.
also reproductive health and well-being, really caring for that part of your body, self
situations, and also your creative projects. So whatever I just named there for you, I want you to
think about these things. Mars is just going to be hanging out at this place. So you might have a
planet there. You might not. Doesn't matter. It's happening somewhere in your chart.
Over the next four weeks, we're going to have to like meditate on something, right? We're being held in
place somewhere in our life. Not everywhere. There's all these other things going on.
There's all, like again, there's all this other activity this week. It has nothing to do with the
Mars retrograde. But in the area of your chart that contains cancer, we're being held in
place somewhere for good reason. It's not because the universe or our life wants us to suffer.
It's because we're supposed to dig deeply into something and understand it on an emotional level,
understand the security issues that come up because of it, understand what it is we're supposed to
be pivoting around, what it is we're supposed to be transforming, alchemizing, moving through,
doing something difficult in regards to, but difficult that is important to do.
Like, okay, it's difficult, fine.
It will be really good once it's done.
It'll be really good to have done it.
it will be really important to have been in this process. Because it's cancer, again, it's sensitive.
It brings us down to our deepest core issues about fitting in, about being part of a family,
about belonging. Belonging is the word I really want to use. Cancer is about belonging. Who do we
belong to? Who loves us? Who's going to nurture us? Who's going to feed me? Who's going to close me?
Who's going to house me? How am I going to get these needs met? And so it's about how we can
reparent ourselves in this area of our life or within these relationships or within this
context. It's about how we can do the hard and necessary thing that's going to grow us into
some kind of next version of our own parenthood, our own parenting. Like imagine your life
if you were the absolute best parent of yourself. What would you feel like? What would life be like?
Life is harrowing. The world is harrowing. And if you met all of that stuff out there every day,
knowing that you have met your own needs, what kind of parent and boss and coworker and neighbor and citizen and family member and family member and friend and comrade and anything, any label that you have, what kind of person would you be in all of those relationships?
that's part of this goal.
And I will say this again, until I am blue in the face or until June, the hard things that we do right now in the area of our chart that contains cancer or in regards to the area of our life that connects with the part of our chart that Mars is retrograding through.
We're going to be so happy we did that work come June.
Because come June, the opposite thing happens.
as hard as this is right now, come June, we're going to get a lot of blessings. And I think it's tied to
the tough stuff that we do right now. So I go into great depth in this, in your year head reading.
We'll talk about it a lot next week, both here and also in terms of your individual readings.
So I hope that those are helpful.
And also for now, the full moon in Leo dominates, reminding us that where this full moon happens also is a part of our chart that we are meant to shine into, that we are meant to illuminate.
So when you listen to your reading for this week, think about the part of your chart that this full moon is happening in and how you are in your life over the span of your life learning how to shine in this area.
And this woman is going to give you and me a breakthrough about it.
So we're going to tune in from Sunday all the way to Thursday because there's going to be something that we're going to be like, whoa, I didn't never thought of it that way.
And that's what we want.
We want to think about something in a different way.
We want to have a paradigm shift or something that changes our mind that helps us to think about something in a more radically free way.
because if anything, Uranus wants us to be free, wants us to be able to think outside the box,
act outside the box, be outside the box of conformity.
And that's, you know, good for Leo because it's quite shiny out there.
All right, y'all, I'm sending you lots of love, many blessings.
I will see you back here next time.
Bye for now.
