Starting point is 00:00:00 I want you to think back to 2017. I want you to think back to the beginning of the year, like about this time of the year in 2017. What was the most important lesson you were learning then? Especially about your own creative power and potency, how you were engaging with it, how you were learning to express it, and what you were learning about your relationships, about your work relationships, your friendships, your relationship to yourself, to your own creativity, and to your own agency. Back in 2017, this time of year, we had a Venus retrograde in Aries that retrograded back into Pisces. And this week, we are going through, we are entering into the exact same Venus retrograde. It is going to station retrograde on March 1st in Ares. And because it is almost exactly in the same part of the
Starting point is 00:01:13 sky, in the same part of the zodiac, as it was in 2017, will last for the same amount of time. is almost the exact same days of the month as it was in 2017. We can use the template of that year, of what we learned about ourselves, about our activism, about our collective power then, and think about how we have grown eight years wiser, eight years stronger, eight years more resilient, eight years more resourced, eight years more deeply in our friendships, hopefully, in our communities, in our collective organizing, and how we can show up for this moment, given everything
Starting point is 00:02:08 we learned back then, all that we've done to grow ourselves and become wiser. and all we're being called to do now. That is, I think you'll agree, eerily similar to that moment. Different, but definitely rhyming with, definitely mirroring what happened this time of year back then. Hello and welcome. This is the Astrology of the Week Ahead podcast.
Starting point is 00:02:43 I'm your host and your Astro Bestie. Channie, Nicholas, and in this episode, we are talking about the week of February 24th. And this week has a new moon in it. There's a new moon on Thursday the 27th. It's in Pisces. It's pretty cute, I got to say. But the absolute standout, bar none, important moment is the fact that on March 1st, Venus is stationing retrograde. Venus is stationing retrograde in Ares. This is a fire sign. That means that it is performative, it is bold, it is in your face, it is warm, it is fiery, it is maybe very hot, depends, and it is pulling focus.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Now, I do want to say that Mars has just, especially if you're listening to this on Sunday the 23rd, it is just stationing direct. Mars stations direct on February 23rd. Now, Mars is the ruler of Ares. Stay with me here. And Venus is stationing retrograde in Ares. Now, Mars just stationed direct. So they are passing the baton of this year of important retrogrades. Mars and Venus retrogrades are just standout moments. Mars is a planet of conflict and war and agitation and courage and heroes and anti-heroes and all kinds of villains. Chaotic good, chaotic evil, you know, Mars gets attention because it pokes at us and it crosses
Starting point is 00:04:34 boundaries and it crosses the line and it definitely spurs us into action. That's Mars. Mars is a planet of conflict. Venus is the planet of cohesion. It's a planet of connection. It is a planet of love and relationships and creativity and pleasure. Mars is not about pleasure. Mars is grueling. Mars is being on the battlefield. So when Mars is retrograde, its themes pull focus. The beginning of the year has been gruesome. It's been really, really, really hard for a lot of people in a lot of different ways, for a lot of different reasons, but we can boil it all down to one reason, which is the fact that our humanity and our human rights and everything that protects us as a collective, as a community of any kind, is being attacked and systematically dismantled. So everything that
Starting point is 00:05:34 keeps us safe, Mars is retrograding through cancer, the sign of safety and the sign of taking care of everything that was structurally, systemically trying to at least sort of keep us safe in some kind of way is being attacked. I'm recording this a couple weeks in the past. I'm recording this on February 10th, so I'm not too far away. But from where I'm sitting, that's what's going on. Now, Mars Stationing Direct is a major moment. Mars, again, again, if you're listening to this on February 23rd, is just stationing direct. And it is going to sit at 17 degrees of cancer until like March 9th. And then it's just going to move to 18 degrees. It's basically just going to go a couple of degrees for a couple of weeks. It's still moving very,
Starting point is 00:06:22 very slow. I think last week I said it was sitting at 17 degrees of cancer for five weeks, and that was a mistake. I said that down to Astro or other podcasts. So forgive me. It sits at 17 degrees of cancer for three and a half weeks, almost four. So it has been at 17 degrees of cancer. It will be at 17 degrees of cancer for the next couple weeks. Regardless, Mars is still pulling focus. So Mars, the planet of conflict and agitation and really being a pain in our ass and a thorn in our side. But also like getting us to do something, right? Like what is Mars provoking? Now, Venus stationing retrograde in Mars's sign is a really loud declaration of Venusian themes. So it's Venus, planet of being nice, playing nice, social cohesion, justice, fairness, relationship, balance, beauty, joy, pleasure, love.
Starting point is 00:07:23 But in Mars's sign, in Aries, Venus is fierce. Venus is bold. Venus gets attention. And Venus is a table flipper. Venus is a chandelier swinger. Venus is going to have fun and is going to experience pleasure and promote pleasure in a very antithetical to what status quo wants kind of way. It is the vibe of being a contrarian. So that is what is going to start to pull focus now. It is still about collectivism. It is still about how we come together or how we are inhibited from coming together, what is pulling us apart. But because Venus Retrograde does connect to unions of people, I'm talking labor unions, I'm talking teachers unions, I'm talking marriage unions, I'm talking any kind of union and just the concept of union. That's what is going to be pulling focus now.
Starting point is 00:08:31 And probably already is. By the time you listen to this, Venus will be, you know, slowing down. Again, has been in its pre-retrograd shadow phase for a little bit now since the end of January. So obviously it's not new. But my hope, my prayer, my commitment is that this Venus retrograde, starting on March 1st, will be retrograde all of March into April, is going to be one for the books and is going to be one that says, hey, 2017, I see what you did. I got the notes. I read the notes, read the footnotes. This is what went well. This is what didn't. This is what we learned. This what we didn't know back then. This is what we've learned since then. And this is how we're going to approach this now. Obviously, I hope it's obvious. I mean, I hope it's not existent by the time
Starting point is 00:09:32 you're listening to this. But again, I doubt it because I'm only two weeks behind you. But it's obvious that we are living through in the United States a coup. And we are living in a moment where white supremacy is taken the reins and has taken control. And we are in a situation where if we don't act fiercely and quickly and definitively to protect ourselves our human rights, our rights of our fellows, and if we do not move as a collective in a very, very defiant and in a very agitating to the ruling class kind of way, we are going to be in such trouble. We are going to lose everything. I'm not being hyperbolic. So we find ourselves in a much more serious situation than we did in 2017. Obviously, these two things.
Starting point is 00:10:51 are connected politically. These moments are connected. Astrologically, they just so happen to be connected. Obviously, if we would have been able to make a definitive change back then, we wouldn't have gotten to this place. But we did. We're here. We're in reality. This is the reality. We have to accept where we are so that we can locate ourselves in the reality of it and say, what agency do I have here, what are the different choices we can make now? How can we make sure that this story doesn't get worse? How can we make sure that we are learning our lessons and doing everything we need to do to inhibit the absolute collapse of anything that was good about the systems and the structures we were living within before? And then how do we bring new energy? And then how do we bring new
Starting point is 00:11:48 energy and innovative solutions to what was never working anyways. Because we know that authoritarianism and fascism and white nationalism and all of these things can only infiltrate when there's something that isn't being addressed anyways. So all of that is not your singular responsibility to take on. And it is not mine. That is how the myth of exceptionalism and the myth of imperialism and the myth of rugged individualism gets us. We think, oh, well, I've got to be able to do something. No, it's we've got to be able to do something. So can you, have you, what can we do to help you and me and us?
Starting point is 00:12:46 find our political home, find our cultural home, find a home of friendship, find if you want it a home of worship, if you need it an artistic home, what kind of collectives are you a part of, what kind of book clubs can we start, what can we do to gather with others to remind ourselves each and every day we are responsible to one another, we need one another, we are the solution to one another's ailments and our collective dumpster fire situation that we are living through right now. No matter what country you're in, I think what we have come to see, no, fully realize is that this threat that the United States is experiencing to itself is also threatening all of these
Starting point is 00:13:41 other countries, depending on the day, depending on the whims of the fascist in charge, we are threatening, we are destabilizing the country, the government, is doing all of these things to create further and further insecurity. So, no matter what country you're in, I think this Venus retrograde is saying, hey, unions are a really good idea. I'm not saying all unions work in a way that is really great. But I'm saying the concept of being in union, in community, in all of that with one another, is important as a means of fighting what is trying to keep us separated and isolated and what is trying to use us as a weapon to do their war and their bidding and their work for them.
Starting point is 00:14:37 So Venus is stationing retrograde. this week in Aries. I'm hoping it's loud and brilliant and beautiful. It's also an invitation to be very performative again, very demonstrative in our worship of beauty and in regards to culture making. Art, in this circumstance, Venus and Ares, art is a weapon. It is a tool to dismantle supremacy. It always has been, and it always will be, and that is why they always try to defund the arts. It is something that is so potent and so powerful.
Starting point is 00:15:26 And Venus reminds us of that. Venus is a planet of art and beauty and of relationship, and that's not just like little compartments that aren't related to one another. Art connects us to one another. art connects us to the human experience. When we are fully engaged with really deep and profound and thoughtful and critical works of art, we are deeply engaged with not only our own humanity and experience, but also the realities of people that we live amongst or that are far away from us, but that we can relate to because of the beauty and the sweetness or the intoxication or
Starting point is 00:16:08 the melody or the colors or the something that the art is delivering us. Like the art brings us in. The art connects to us. The art says, yes, come in. This will be great. And then delivers us the message. And so it is a tool. If you don't like the word weapon, fine. It's in Aries right now. So, you know, but it definitely is a tool for deconstructing the things that keep us separate. So please, please, please make your art. Get into collectives that are making art. How can we gather and express and sing and dance and graffiti and put on public displays of what is most valuable and what is most important to us? The whole journey of a Venus retrograde is a really profound one.
Starting point is 00:17:05 Because much like a mercury retrograde, it is about an underworld experience. So right now, Venus is a beautiful, bright light in the night sky before it stations retrograde, as it's stationing retrograde. It's this gorgeous diamond in the sky. It really is just breathtaking. And then eventually, it'll get so close to the sun that it will be invisible. And so the ancients thought that the goddess inana was Venus in ancient Mesopotamia Sumer, and that she was being called into the underworld by her sister Oreschka gal. And so the planet would disappear from the night sky and then eventually reappear as it was stationing around the time, roughly, that it's stationing direct, as a bright, beautiful
Starting point is 00:17:58 morning star. So they were like, oh, well, she goes into the underworld. She has a transformational experience. and then she comes back up as a triumphant morning star. And there's different myths around the world and different understandings of Venus as an evening star and Venus as a morning star. And there's a lot of different ways in which we can view this. It's very interesting to understand what type of Venus you have.
Starting point is 00:18:24 Is it an evening star? Is it a morning star? Is it on your team? Do you have a day chart or a night chart? You can find all that out in the Chani app. But this is the deal. We're being called at this point in the Inanna myth. It says the great goddess puts her ear to the great below because she hears the call.
Starting point is 00:18:47 She hears a call and all great journey myths where there's a main character that goes in a big journey, especially into an underworld. They get called into that underworld. And they keyed the call. That's their job. This is our job. Our job is to heed the call. What are you being called to do, to make, to create, to put into the world? And you might not know right now. You know, when we get the call, we just like, huh, oh gosh, should I go to that place? Should I take that job? Should I go for coffee with that person? Should I? Should I? I don't know. If it's something that's calling you, I don't really think you have a choice, actually. Because if we don't do it, you know, generally I think we miss it. We miss something that we're
Starting point is 00:19:40 supposed to grow into. So a lot of you will feel this call. And all we're supposed to do at this point in the journey is put our ear down to the ground and say, ah, yes, that's the call. This is where I'm supposed to go. And then eventually through the retrograde, we go. We go down into this place. We go down into our own journey. In the myths, Inana goes down into the underworld. And she goes to the seven gates of the underworld. There are seven planets, seven visible planets to the naked eye. She goes down into the underworld and she meets her sister who's writhing in pain in the underworld. and her sister, we can think psychologically, is just the other part of her. Anana is the all-knowing, all-beautiful queen of heaven and earth.
Starting point is 00:20:35 I mean, gorgeous. She's like fully realized. Everybody loves her. And she has a sister that everybody forgot about and everybody's afraid of and is the goddess of the underworld. And she doesn't get to party and she doesn't get to be this gorgeous, beautiful, adorned. And there's always the other side, right? There's always the shadow side.
Starting point is 00:20:55 There's the light and there's a shadow always. And so the two sisters are really two sides of our conscious awareness. In internal family systems, we would think of this as like different parts, parts work. There's the part of me that gets left in the back rooms that I don't want anybody to know about. And then there's the part of me that's like, I present to the world because it gets attention. It gets me love. And so the Inana myth, she goes down into the underworld and she meets her sister. And her sister fixes the eye on her and that's it for Anana.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Anana is no more. Anana meets that moment. But before Anana goes down into the underworld, she says to her trusty sidekick, listen, if I don't come back in three days, send for me because I don't know if I can trust my sister. So after three days of Anana, who is no more, not coming back, her trusty sidekick goes and petitions all the gods. And finally, finally, one of the gods helps her. And it's one of her fathers.
Starting point is 00:22:07 And he fashions these two little creatures from the dirt underneath his fingernails. And they turn into like little flies and they are able to skirt past all the guards and they go into the underworld and they find. find her and they see Inana, they see her corpse. And they also see Oreschka gal, her sister. And her sister is moaning in pain. She's writhing in pain. She's saying, oh, oh, oh, my insides. Oh, oh, my outsides. Oh, my back. My hips. You know, it's like, it's the whole thing. And they start mirroring her. They say, oh, oh, oh, your insides. Oh, oh, your outsides. Oh, oh, your belly. Oh, oh, your back. And the fact that they are showing her compassion, the fact that they are mirroring back to her her own pain, snaps her out of it, kind of snaps her awake.
Starting point is 00:23:05 And she says, who are you? I'll grant you whatever you want, like she's indebted to them. And so they say, oh, well, we only want one thing. and that's Inana to be returned. And so she sprinkles the waters of life and the food of life upon Inana, and she's reborn. And they ascend up through the seven gates. And so this is the myth, right? This is the whole like descent.
Starting point is 00:23:37 We can see the beautiful, bright Venus. Then she goes retrograde. It goes retrograde. We can't see Venus anymore. And then all of a sudden we can see Venus again. And that is, we could think of it as Venus rising up out of her own journey of meeting her shadow self, of meeting and bonding with the part of her that feels betrayed and alone and neglected and unloved and ugly and stuffed in some kind of secret, you know, cave that nobody wants to ever go visit. So it's the meeting of ourselves.
Starting point is 00:24:13 It's that union. It's getting down to the heart of something. And the beginning of the Venus retrograde is the call to the journey, hearing the call and saying yes to the call. And then there's a point in the Venus retrograde cycle where Venus and the Sun come together. It's a Kazimi. You hear me say that word a lot if you listen to this podcast. It's a very special moment.
Starting point is 00:24:38 We can think of it maybe as the moment of Venus being reborn, of Venus, the me, the creatures, being like we want Inana to come back to life. Of that moment of her being infused with the waters of life and the food of life and the stuff of life and she gets the energy she needs, the goddess comes back. And that is a very important date. That date is March 22nd. And then Venus retrograde ends on April 12th. So we have March 1st, March 22nd, and 18th.
Starting point is 00:25:17 April 12th, circle those dates in your calendar. It doesn't mean that anything dramatic needs to happen or should happen on those dates, but that's the beginning, the middle, and the end, roughly of this journey. We can think of the pre-retrograd shadow period and the post-rettegrad shadow period, and that extends the whole thing out quite a bit. But if you want to just look at the dates of the retrograde, where the planet is stationing, going in, starting to pull back, starting to go down, metaphorically speaking, of Venus and the sun coming together of the planet being re-infused, reinvigorated with the light and the warmth and the medicine that it needs to get itself together and come up, back up to break ground again.
Starting point is 00:26:05 And then April 12th, not being the exact moment that you'll be able to see Venus in the morning, but the moment where Venus starts to move forward again, starts to pivot and do a different thing, do a different story. So those are the dates that are really important. And again, the journey begins this week. So we don't want to project too much onto it. It's not going to be the exact same thing as it was in 2017. We're in a different timeline.
Starting point is 00:26:35 Similar though, again, looks like, feels like, sounds like, definitely echoes a lot of stuff. but is perhaps, I think, a lot more advanced and a lot more serious, which means we need to be more serious, more committed, and more determined. So here we are, the beginning of the Venus retrograde. Now, that's not the only thing that's happening this week on Tuesday. So Monday, Tuesday, we're going to get some news. We're going to get a certain type of answer. We're going to get like a yes, a no, there's going to be a lot of clarity that occurs on Tuesday. On Thursday, we've got the new moon. Mercury makes a sex style to Uranus.
Starting point is 00:27:19 It's a very innovative, creative day. It's helpful in terms of our communications. It's also the new moon in Pisces. Gorgeous little moment. Now, the North Node is in Pisces. Eclipses are coming, but this is not an eclipse, but it's sharing a sign with the node, which is where eclipses happen. not close enough to be an actual eclipse. But it's happening in the part of your chart where
Starting point is 00:27:47 eclipses have just happened in September of 2024 and will happen again in September of 2025. So I want you to think about when you listen to your reading this week on the Chani app where this new moon is happening, it does have that eclipsy, fateful type of energy to it. And so there is something that's connected to an event that maybe occurred last September, but is definitely going to occur again this September. So it's like, um, six months from now, what's the thing? You know, this is a new moon. It's a new beginning. And six months from now, it's going to be a full moon in Pisces, and it will also be an eclipse that will feel quite charged. So it does seem like there's something really important to pay attention to that is beginning this week
Starting point is 00:28:35 in the area of your chart that contains Pisces. On Saturday, Mercury, there's a lot of Mercury movement this week. Mercury makes a conjunction to the North Node, the place where eclipses happen. So again, between Thursday and Saturday, well, no, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, there's a lot of very important conversations that, again, are talking about something that might not happen for another six months or might be beginning now, but we'll take about six months to fully come into understanding and to obviousness, if you will. So pay attention to what you're hearing, what you're saying, what you're planning.
Starting point is 00:29:14 And then by Sunday, Mercury makes a conjunction with Neptune. And it gets wishy-washy. It gets too good to be true, possibly. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. If it sounds confusing, it's not just you. If you're like, that doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense. You're not missing. You're missing. Something is being not presented. Something is missing. It's not you,
Starting point is 00:29:39 though. You know what I mean? So get all the details. Don't try to do anything that seems like it doesn't add up. Don't pay an amount of money, time, energy, talent if the equation seems really off. Also on Sunday, the sun makes a square to Jupiter, which is a sign. that's baked into the new moon. New moon is in Pisces. It's ruled by Jupiter. It's squaring Jupiter. Jupiter right now is in Gemini. So it's not the strongest sign it could be in. But there is like a bouncy confidence boost that we get to at the end of the week. But again, it's really the Venus retrograde. I mean, this is important. It's an important new moon because it's signaling something that's going to occur eventually and it's signaling conversations that seem really important. that are coming into form and structure and like, hmm, this is, it's not quite happening right now,
Starting point is 00:30:41 but it's important to pay attention to down the road. So the areas of our chart that contain Pisces and Ares are very charged right now for a couple of reasons. There's a lot going on in these two areas of our chart. both Venus retrograde, Neptune, and Saturn. So it's more than both. All three of these planets are going to move back and forth between Pisces and Ares. So there's a tie in in regards to these two areas of your chart. I talk about it in your readings this week. They're being connected by more than one thing. This week they're being connected by separate. This week, they're being
Starting point is 00:31:25 connected by separate activities, but Venus will eventually retrograde from Ares back up into Pisces. Neptune will move from Pisces into Aries and then back into Pisces and then back into Ares. Saturn will do the same thing between this year and next year. So on a small scale they're connected this week, on a medium scale, they're connected through the Venus retrograde of the next 40-ish days. and in a larger scale they're connected between 2025 and 2026, these areas of your chart. And they're right side by each. They're side by side. So again, I go into that this week.
Starting point is 00:32:02 You can think of those areas of your chart as being really important and being important in terms of how they're connected. But right now it's about the things that are going on. But eventually it'll be like the Venus connects them and then the Neptune connects them and then the Saturn connects them. So it'll be, Saturn will be the structure that connects them. Neptune will be the dream that connects them, the dream that you have for both areas of your chart. And Venus will be about the relationships, about the values that you have in both areas of these of your chart, of these areas of your life. And also any of the creative, artistic expression that you
Starting point is 00:32:42 might be doing, or, again, the relationships that you might be having in these areas of your life that you know to be really important to pay attention to right now. Okay, now comes the part of the podcast where I answer your questions. You can ask me anything. If you're listening to this on YouTube, you can write a question down below the video. You can also write in and ask us anything anytime you want. Okay, so I got a question about rising signs and why are rising signs important. What is it that they mean. So there's a lot of different ways to look at this, but this is one of the things that is so important to understand. If you were to go outside and look to the eastern horizon, right this second in the exact place that you're in, there will be a specific sign or part of the
Starting point is 00:33:44 sky that is rising up over the eastern horizon. That is your rising sign. And it is happening because of exactly the time it is, this moment, and exactly where you are on Earth. Because at this moment, 3,000 miles away from you go any direction, well, east or west, left or, you know, this way or that way, 3,000 miles to the east or to the west of you, there's a totally different sign at this very moment, not the same time of day, but this very moment, right? Not 3 o'clock Eastern time or and 3 o'clock Pacific time. But at this moment, which is maybe 3 o'clock Pacific time, but 6 o'clock Eastern standard time, different parts of the sky are rising up over the eastern horizon because we're seeing the sky differently. On the west coast, it is still mid-afternoon,
Starting point is 00:34:45 but on the east coast, it's getting into evening. So the sky looks different. The sun's in a different place because the sky's in a different place. So the rising sign locates us in time and space. It is the most sensitive, personal part of your chart because it changes so quickly. Think about how the sun moves through the sky during the day. The sun's here and then, oh, it's up here and then, oh, it's setting. That's because that's the rotation, obviously, of the earth, but from our vantage point, it looks like the rotation of the sky. Well, that's, think of the sun being in one specific sign. That sign is moving that fast throughout the day. That means that there's a new sign popping up over the eastern horizon every couple of hours or so. Some signs do. Some signs
Starting point is 00:35:37 take longer to rise up than others. So that means that if I know your rising sign, and you tell me what sun sign you are, I know what part of the sky the sun was in when you were born. Because I know how far apart those signs are. And so therefore, I know what house your son was in when you were born. If I know your sun's sign and your rising sign, I know a lot about you. so be careful what you tell me when you meet me on the street. People tell me all this stuff and I'm like, okay, now I know a lot about you. If you tell me what your rising sign is and what your Venus is or your moon is or anything else in your chart, I know where it is because I use whole sign houses.
Starting point is 00:36:21 So it's a way of looking at the sky. And I know how many signs apart they are. Therefore I know how many houses apart there. Therefore, I know where everything is in your chart. I know how they're talking to each other. because the rising sign tells me what was happening in the rest of the sky. It tells me how the sky is set up. If Libra is rising, Aries is setting because they are opposite signs.
Starting point is 00:36:51 So you tell me you're an Aries sun, but a Libra rising, I know that you were born around the time of sunset. And then if you tell me you have a cancer moon, well, I know it's in the 10th house, right? at the top of the chart because that's where cancer is relative to an Ares rising. So the rising sign sets up the entire chart. That's why I do rising sign readings because it's telling you where things are happening. Not if they're happening next to a planet in your chart, but what domain of your chart they're happening in, what house they're happening in. Without knowing your rising sign, it's really hard to know what house.
Starting point is 00:37:33 everything else is in. You could guess and you can use your sun sign as your rising sign, but you've got to understand if you're reading or listening to your sun sign horoscope, you're using your sun sign as the rising sign. That's how important rising signs are. It's a place to view the rest of the sky from. Your astrology, any moment in time's astrology chart, anything's, anyone's astrology chart, is a snapshot of the sky the moment that thing or that person comes into being. And that snapshot is taken because of where we're standing on the earth, where we're situated on the earth, and what time it is, meaning it gives us the rising sign and then gives us everything else in the sky, where everything else was. So if you know what
Starting point is 00:38:27 your rising sign is and I have access to an ephemorous, a list of the planets. Well, then I know everything about you. I know where all your stuff is. And I can tell a great deal about your life. Not because you're a cancer rising and therefore you're moody. I mean, that might be true, but that's not what this tool is capable of. If you tell me you're a Leo rising, fine, you need attention. We'll just, that's the floor. But then you tell me your Scorpio son and I'm like, oh, okay, you're flamboyant and like you need to be acknowledged by the world and you need to find some way to receive that kind of attention and get a, don't be adored, Leo rising. But your son being in Scorpio means it's in the fourth house. You need home and family and
Starting point is 00:39:21 foundation and feeling rooted to that, which is very different than the Leo. So, the quality, the nature, the ways in which your rising sign expresses itself is something that, yeah, you'll be known for it. It's your motivation for living. It's literally the moment, the time stamp, then the location stamp where you came in as a soul and said, yes, I'm going to live this life. That's your rising sign. That's what your rising sign gives us. It gives us your motivation, your reason for coming and in and saying, okay, I'm going to do this. I'm going to do this physical experience. I'm going to be a human. Let's go. Let's try this weird thing out. Your rising sign gives us that the style that you're motivated to express. It doesn't mean that
Starting point is 00:40:11 you're not your sun sign or you're not your moon sign. We are all the things. We are all the parts of our chart. And it's up to us to figure out how to express it and like what to prioritize and how to make sure that one thing doesn't get too much and the other thing doesn't get enough. you know, we have all of it going on inside of us. That's what makes us interesting and complex. And your rising sign locates me in time and space and lets me know where everything else is. And then the planet that rules your rising sign. So if you're an aries rising, it's Mars, a torus rising, it's Venus, Gemini rising, it's Mercury, cancer rising, it's the moon. Leo rising, it's the sun, Virgo rising, it's Mercury, Libra rising it's Venus,
Starting point is 00:41:01 Scorpio rising, it's Mars in traditional astrology, don't fight me, don't at me. Sagittarius rising, Jupiter, Capricorn rising, Saturn, Aquarius rising, Saturn, again, it's traditional astrology, don't at me. Aquarius rising, I already said Saturn, Pisces rising, Jupiter, that's traditional astrology, don't at me. You can do modern rulerships if you want. But so if I know your rising sign and then I know where the ruler, the planet that rules that rising sign, if I know what sign it's in, I know what the house it's in. I know the place that your life is supposed to go in. I know the direction of your life. What is essential for you. I know where you're supposed to move to in this life. It's a key. Your rising sign is not only like your style and like, you know, a vibe people get from you. And it's not even locating your whole chart, which is so important, locating us in time and space when you were born.
Starting point is 00:41:59 Yes, it's the marker of how you're motivated to live out this life. So important. But it also gives me the planet that tells me the direction your life has to go in for you to feel like you are living out your purpose. And the planet, the nature of the planet, the qualities of that planet are so essentially important. I wrote a whole book about it. It's called You Were Born for This, this little sign back here, because that's how important it is. You have to know your rising sign and the planet that rules it and where that planet is. You don't have to do anything, but I just, you'll get so much out of it if you do.
Starting point is 00:42:39 Okay, I hope that was helpful. I'm sure there's a million other questions that you have about rising signs. So let us know. Where else can I go from here? What else do you want to know? Now, before I go, I wanted to let you know about this little product that we put together this year for the first time ever, maybe for the last time ever, we put together a year book for you. This book has readings for every single sign in it. So it is an incredible gift that you can give anybody. And it talks about all of the major movements of the planets as it is. as it impacts each and every sign. So you can read it to all your friends. You can tell your mom
Starting point is 00:43:27 why she's having such a hard time. But also, you can look at all of the different parts of your chart. You can look at your sun sign. You can look at your moon sign. You can look at your Venus sign. You can look at your Mars sign. You can look at your ascendant. Please look at your ascendant. And see how all of the major transits are impacting you. So like when Saturn goes into Aries and Neptune has already entered Ares by late May when Saturn goes there. What does it mean for you? As a Capricorn sun or as a Virgo rising or as a Pisces moon, we tell you it's all in here. We've never done anything this extensive, this deep, this detailed. This book will be relevant for years and years and years to come. Fortunately or unfortunately, I don't know yet. We'll see.
Starting point is 00:44:19 Because these major planetary shifts that we talk about, at least that's what a lot of the book is, these major planetary shifts are lasting for so long. Like Saturn moving into Aries is like a two and a half year thing. But Neptune moving into Aries is like a decade and a half. Pluto having just moved it. Like this is all going to impact us for a long time to come. So 2025 is a year of major change. Who knew? And again, in celebration of Women's History Month, this was written by a woman. This is edited by a woman. This is like, this is a woman owned business. This is a queer own business. This is a small business. And the people that pack these and ship them to you are survivors of gender-based violence. And they get paid a living wage of 38, 46 an hour. Yes, $38.46 an hour. and that's who's shipping them to you. So in support of Women's History Month, support small businesses, support businesses that are doing something a little bit different like ours and like gifted.
Starting point is 00:45:35 If you want to go buy some really phenomenal products, head over to gifted by freefrem.org. And we get none of those proceeds. 100% of those proceeds, go to them. You can also go to our shop little page on our website, chani.com, and gifted's products are there. And we make zero dollars. All of the money goes to the survivor entrepreneurs that make those products. So there's a lot of different ways to support women, queer folks, trans folks, migrant folks, folks of all kinds that are, you know, really having quite a women's history month.
Starting point is 00:46:14 I'm sure by the time you listen to this. but you will not regret getting this little yearbook because she's just like a bestie, you know, and she's going to be a bestie for quite some time. But it's something we'll be able to look back on and be like, oh, that's what they were talking about. That's what they meant when they wrote that. I didn't quite understand it in 2025, but by 2008, I really, it clicked in. All right, y'all, I'm sending you so much love.
Starting point is 00:46:43 I am sending us all. Venus and Aries, power, strength, style. Venus and Aries has so much style. It is the diva marker. Maybe all learn to just make such phenomenally potent statements, artistic, just like moments of beauty that are so awe-inspiring and captivating that it calls other people to join our. movements and to be friends and to like get through this thing together.
Starting point is 00:47:19 May this Venus and Retrograde take all of what we've learned from 2017's Venus Retrograde. And may we compile it, compost what didn't work, distill it down, take the wisdom from it and move with a great amount of confidence and ferocity. into this Venus retrograde. I heard myself say Venus in retrograde. Now I was like, oh, cringe. It's not Venus in retrograde. It's Venus retrograde.
Starting point is 00:47:52 So, there you go. Anyways, I'm sending you all the love, all the blessings if you're still listening to this. Bye for now.
