On Tuesday, Venus (the planet of love) makes a sextile to Uranus (the planet of disruption), which nudges us to switch things up and explore unexpected pleasure. On Friday, Mercury makes a conjunction with Pluto (the planet of underworld journeys), prompting us to plunge into the roots of a situation and speak from a place of power. Then on Saturday, Mercury moves into Aquarius to help us articulate exactly what the collective needs most. Hello and welcome. This is the astrology of the week ahead podcast. And I'm your host, Chani Nicholas.

In this podcast, we look at the astrology of the upcoming week and how it will be landing for all of us collectively. We're coming down off of that full moon in Leo that was all about self-expression and radical honesty. And this week is a lot less dramatic. There aren't any massive moments. But there are a couple of really helpful ones, and there is one thing that occurs this week that is trying to help us get to the root of something, to the origin of something, to grasp something in a radical way, which is to understand it from the root.

So mostly what's happening this week has to do with Mercury. Mercury is picking up speed. It is finally going to leave Capricorn for the first time in two months because that is where it's stationed retrograde on December 29th of 2022. And this is the first time since the beginning of December that it's not going to be in that part of our chart. So we're going to get to have a different kind of conversation eventually. This week is spent mostly looking at the last couple moves of Mercury in Capricorn. On the 6th of February, on Monday, Mercury makes a really helpful little sex style with Neptune, which encourages some daydreaming, encourages our imagination to come forth, and encourages us to dream up the solutions that we most need.

On Tuesday, we have something that isn't based on Mercury. It's the only thing this week that isn't mercury based. but it's really lovely, so I want to mention it. It's Venus and Pisces making a sex style with Uranus in Taurus, one of the signs that Venus rules. So Tuesday and the beginning of the week is like fantasy, imagination, and unexpected pleasures and little delights to enjoy. It's like, hey, try a different restaurant, go out on that coffee date with that person, try something different. You might, be really surprised at how enjoyable it is. Also on Tuesday, Mercury officially moves out of its post retrograde shadow. So post-retrograde shadow are the degrees, the part of the zodiac that Mercury

retrograded through and now is finally clearing. So this is the part of the year where we are officially, officially, officially, officially clear of any Mercury retrograde shenanigans. But it is also signifying that this is the moment where we're like, okay, we have really wrapped this up. We are headed into brand new territory. And right away on February the 10th, Mercury makes a conjunction with Pluto. And this is Mercury's little farewell party. A Mercury Pluto conjunction is actually a really interesting moment because Pluto is the planet that describes the underworld or describes the resources available to us when we go underneath the surface of things. And Mercury is the most versatile of all the planets. Mercury loves to go anywhere

and everywhere. Mercury is not tied to one state of being. And so as Mercury and Pluto come into a conjunction as they're at the same place in the zodiac, there's something here for us to investigate. Now, Pluto is about, again, the underworld. So it's really great astrology for investigating things, for research, for plunging into the roots of a situation. And it's also a planet that teaches us about power and how it works. So if we're thinking about this personally, then it's related. to what I said in the beginning of this podcast, which is that there's something here in the astrology that's encouraging us to speak from a place of our power and to get curious about

what that feels like, what that looks like, what that sounds like for us, and why it might be hard for us. So this week might offer some help and some assistance in getting us to be located in that place, it also might offer up some very intense conversations and some cathartic revelations. And for some of you, you won't even notice it. This is really mild astrology. We are officially, officially, officially closing the Mercury retrograde chapter. We're officially closing the chapter of Mercury hanging at in Capricorn for so long. But it is quite light astrology compared to a lot of the other things that have just happened and will happen a little later in the year. So it might also feel like a little bit of a break. And we are just coming off of that big Leo full moon.

So we're just kind of like picking up the pieces, doing the things. But if there's going to be something that's going to stand out for us, I think it will be at the end of the week when Mercury and Pluto come together. And we get to unearth something. And we get to grasp something from the root. which is a way of being radical to understand something at its origins. And then on Saturday, the 11th Mercury officially moves into a new sign. Mercury moves into Aquarius. It'll be there until March 3rd, so Mercury is moving really fast now. We might notice that plans come together, that conversations are quicker,

that there's a flurry of conversations happening in our lives now. and there's a lot of action. And I think if anything, this change of sign will signal a kind of new feeling or a freshness. Mercury in an air sign is exceptionally chatty, inquisitive. And Mercury in Aquarius wants to understand the system, how it works, how it benefits the masses, how we can speak to what the collective needs and wants. And while Mercury is in Aquarius, it's going to make a square to Uranus and it's going to conjunct Saturn.
