Three things about this week.
If you have Saturn in Pisces, as of this week, your Saturn return is officially done,
done, done, done, done.
If you have Saturn in Aries, your Saturn return is officially on, on, on, on.
And maybe it's the weirdest Saturn return in history, in recent history.
That's for sure.
If your Pisces in general, especially Pisces rising, you're about to get a lot of relief.
if you are in Aries, especially in Aries Rising, or Cancer, or Libra, or Capricorn, rising especially,
schools in session.
I don't know if that's more than three, but that's a lot.
Hello and welcome.
This is the astrology of the week ahead podcast.
I'm your host, your Astro Bestie Channy Nicholas.
In this episode, we are talking about the absolutely consequential week of February 9th.
Sorry to say, but let's start with the good news. Venus is moving into Pisces. That is the sign of
its exaltation. That means that there is goodness that comes through our friendships, through our
connections, through our solidarity and any effort towards solidarity. That is one of the marks
of protection, abundance, and fortune in the skies right now. And it's moving steadily towards a
trine with Jupiter, who is also exalted in cancer. And that is a mark that care is our greatest
currency. That is a mark of uprisings of people because they care, especially in the face of tyranny.
Because Saturn is moving into Ares. And that spells out a significant situation that we have to
contend with. So our protection and our luck and our charms and the magic that the skies hold right now.
And the skies do hold this mark of significant abundance with both of the benefics, both of the good
planets in their signs of exaltation, meaning we hold this up high. And their signs of exaltation
both have to do with compassion, Pisces and care cancer, both signs are water signs. They are about
connecting to each other. They are about the emotional realm, the feeling realm. We are moved
through our emotions. We are moved to reach out to one another when we feel something, right? So the
initiation of feeling cancer, Jupiter and cancer is saying, go ahead, feel something. Don't numb out.
I know the world is really wild right now, but your invitation to good luck and being in the good
graces of whatever it is you believe is out there comes through opening yourself up to feeling.
And there's this beautiful flow between Venus and Jupiter right now.
And again, that flow is wanting to bring us something good.
It's wanting to bring us benefit.
It's wanting to bring us sweetness and delight and abundance.
and we get there through connecting, through solidarity, through relationships, through sharing the
bounty that we have, and showing up in big ways and saying, you matter to me.
My neighbors matter to me.
My community matters to me.
Everybody that is in my local life and world matters to me, a great deal.
And I can have compassion and love and want good things for people.
that I disagree with, that don't do life in the same way as me. I can still want good things for you.
And then, therefore, I have a better sense of life and myself and good things also flow to me.
So I just want to state that from the get. As of Tuesday, the 10th, Venus moves into Pisces.
This is a gorgeous omen for Pisces, especially Pisces Rising. It's a gorgeous omen for any of the mutable
signs. Gemini, Virgo, Saj. This is super cute. We love Venus in Pisces. It is an invitation to connect. It's an
invitation to remember how transformative, how important art and beauty and culture making is,
especially in the face of tyranny, especially in the face of fascism, especially in the face of
things that look really tough to figure out how to fight against. That's when we need art. That's
when we need artists and that is Venus. And when Venus is exalted, it's saying the art, the beauty,
the connection, it's ever closer to you or it's easier. It's more authentically present. So please
imbue your life and your conscious awareness with it. As much news as you take in, take in beauty,
take in the work of activists and thinkers and creators of all kinds that have lived through
situations like this that have lived through the endings and the collapses of all kinds.
Take in their work, take in their poetry, taking in their beauty. Mercury is in the very poetic
sign of Pisces, even if it's not logical. Even if facts and data are kind of hard to come by
right now, we can still soak up the beauty and the abundance of gorgeous art that we have been
left that we are the recipients of, that we have inherited from generations and generations and
generations of artists. Okay. Enough with the lecture. We also have on Wednesday, Mercury in messy Pisces,
poetic Pisces, watercolor, connect the dots, not really Pisces. Mercury is in its fall and its
detriment or exile in Pisces. So these are not linear times. These conversations are not
easy, but on Wednesday, also on Wednesday, and on Wednesday, it makes a conjunction to the North
note. It heightens all of that. It heightens maybe the confusion, but it also heightens the
poetics. It heightens the misinformation, perhaps, and it also heightens our ability to have
conversations that connect us. It heightens all the kind of conversations that we have,
and because they're happening when Mercury is in the sign of its detriment and fall,
It's not logical. It's not one plus one equals two. It's a different kind of theory. So we have to
like be open-minded and also watch that we've got the facts and the data that we need because they
might be hyper-missing. All of this is going on while Saturn is at the end, end, end, end,
and end of Pisces finishing up something really massive in our personal lives and in our
collective lives. Saturn will not be back in Pisces for a good three decades. It takes 28 years. It takes 28
ears to go around the sun-ish. So Saturn is officially gone. Pisces, you can be like been cute,
not really. I learned a lot. I'm ready to move on. You might feel like a weight has lifted in your
personal life. Venus is with you. Venus is one of your rulers. And Saturn has left the building
as of Friday. Aries, however, and cancer and Libra and Capricor.
You know, schools in session, like I said.
This is about being on time, being responsible, being committed, being the person who's like,
okay, well, the buck stops with me.
Okay, well, I'm going to take responsibility for the things I said yes to.
Okay, well, it's going to be hard, but it's going to be worth it.
Your choices are everything now, especially those rising signs.
But if you're in Aries, well, if you're any of those signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn,
Saturn's coming for you for the next two and a half years.
But I promise you this.
Saturn is one of the most transformative transits you can go through.
Why?
Because it makes things real.
And when I know, oh, this is a microphone, I can talk into it and it will amplify my voice,
then I know how to use it.
If I want this to be a sandwich, I'm in trouble because I'm going to be really mad when it's not.
but if I understand what it is, Saturn, this is what it is, this is the reality, this is the time,
this is the space, this is how much you've got to work with, when I understand that,
then I know what I can do with it and what I can't do with it.
So it is a reality check, but I promise you once you accept it, it will transform your life
because you will no longer waste energy on things that you can't change.
Work with what you can change.
do something difficult. This is a time to be like, I'm going to do that difficult thing. It might take me a
couple years, like three, two, three years. Fine. I'm going to do it. Or maybe even longer. It's wanting
to apply yourself to something that is going to be satisfying long term. That's the most important
thing you can do right now, especially Aries, especially Ares rising. And then on Sunday,
we have the sun making a square to Uranus. It's very disruptive. And look,
We've got an eclipse right around the corner.
Next week, we have a solar eclipse and Aquarius.
It's going to be carrying this signature with it.
We've got Saturn's just moved into Aries.
This is massive astrology.
I haven't even really gotten into it yet.
Neptune is also at zero degrees of Ares.
They're going to meet up on the 20th of February exactly.
But they're in it.
We're in it.
They're traveling so close together right now.
So it's nothing new.
But as soon as Saturn moves into Aries,
it's very heated. And then we have an eclipse next week, which means we get catapulted into a new
reality. Things change really quickly. And I know things feel like they change really quickly every day,
but I promise you, eclipse season just speeds things up. What we need to do right now is stay
exceptionally hydrated and resourced, well fed and well slept. We need to have all of our
on board because we want to catch the little moments where we can shift things. We want to catch
little moments where we're like, oh, wait, there's an opening here. There's always an opening
to shift things. There's always an opening for change. Now, Saturn and Neptune coming together.
I've talked a lot about this over the year ahead videos, in your monthly readings on the Chani app,
and your weekly readings on the Chani app on social media. But just to be a lot of,
to say it again here, Saturn is reality, form, and structure. Neptune is a force that comes
along and erodes reality form and structure, dismantles it. Like a wave upon a rock, it eventually
turns it to sand. So the known reality that we've been able to, in some way, shape, or form
kind of depend on or rely on, like even if we don't like it, we know, like, this is the way the
system works, this is a signal like it doesn't work like that anymore. Yes, because of petty tyrants,
because of fascists, because of this leader, that leader, because of this toddler in charge or
that one, it's not fair, it's not right, but we know things have been dissolving for a while now.
These planets have been moving closer and closer and closer and closer and closer together,
and they've been traveling together for a while now.
it's not new, new, but this is the actual kiss. This is the actual mark. This is the actual,
like, well, now it's happened. So we get to look at February as one of these markers on the calendar,
red circle, red circle, red flag, et cetera, caution tape, all the things, and say,
what reality do we need to face? And I'm not trying to put this on us because it's like we're facing
all the realities all the time.
What else can we face, really?
But the mark here is like, oh, there's something that comes along now and dissolves a structure
that we've relied upon, dissolves a structure or a system or a way of doing things or a code
of conduct that we could at least expect.
Now it's like, well, a lot of that is just gone by the wayside.
So where are we now? And like I said last week and I've said a million times over, everything's in play.
This is not, there's no end. Like they, whoever they are, they don't win. We are co-creating this reality all the time.
So if some things have dissolved, what then can be rebuilt? If some things have dissolved,
where are the openings? If some things have dissolved, what does that leave space?
for something new to emerge something new will emerge we will emerge out of this i promise you but we've got to be
deeply deeply deeply deeply deeply committed to being in the process of the disillusionment of the dissolving
and then of the realization of what space is open so that we can move with the creative energy of what
else wants to be birthed through this shift and through this change. So, you know, we're in it. This is it.
This is it. I don't, I think we know what it is. I think we're, you know, I'm recording this in
January, but I feel like, yeah, that's, unfortunately, that fits the archetypes of this
quite well. How do we do life here on the planet together? What are we going to do? Each one of us,
has a choice in terms of how we interact with each other, with ourselves, with our life,
with our resources, with the day at hand. And that's all we can do. Just one step at a time.
Remember, the skies are also imbued with the beauty of Jupiter and Venus in their exaltation.
That's really rare. That can only happen once every 12 years when Jupiter is in cancer.
And only if at the same time, Venus is in Pisces.
So there is this gorgeous thread of goodness that's running throughout everything.
And it is about Venus, our connections.
It is about Jupiter and cancer.
Our ability to flood the streets when we need to.
Our ability to care for each other in the biggest ways possible.
like care for everybody in ways that are ginormous in ways that you've never done before and just
see what happens, see what comes from overdoing it.
Just for now, obviously, I don't want you to run yourself ragged or dry.
I do want you to be resourced and hydrated and all that kind of stuff.
But overwhelm your own self with care as well.
Just see what happens when you focus there.
you have to find something to be engaged in right now.
That's what I think the remedy to this astrology is.
How can you be of service to your neighbors, to your street, to your city, to your local life, to your community?
Be of service and see what flows from that.
I promise you, promise you, promise you.
It will bring about so much good.
And it will help to channel the anxiety, the fear, the frustration.
the worry, the anguish, any of it, all of it. I promise you. And eclipses are coming. So we want to be
engaged with really meaningful actions. And that is the antidote to despair. Action is the antidote
to despair. And so we could also say activism in any way, shape or form, is the antidote to despair.
act locally think big heartedly okay now we have a question from the audience thank you so much for
sending in your questions hi chani thank you so much for everything that you do um and everything
you put out into the world there's so much goodness there and i'm so grateful my astro question is
My self-node is in my first house.
And I think of the self-node as what we are tasked with releasing throughout our life.
But my rising sign is sort of the guiding point on my chart.
And I'm just not sure how to reconcile these two things being in the same house.
Amazing.
Love this and love to talk about the nodes, especially as we move into eclipse season.
So the South node to me is a point of emptying out.
It's a point of release, which I think is what you said.
And it's a point of letting go.
It's actually a mark of a really kind of spiritual, if you will, understanding of life,
meaning we can't hold on to anything.
We can't hold on to youth, that's for sure.
We can't hold on to accolades.
We shouldn't hold on to disparate.
Like we lose everything in life.
We lose our life.
None of us will make it out of here alive.
That's the South Node.
South Node is like, well, what is death?
How do we contemplate it?
There's that technique.
I can't remember what it's called.
It's a technique of releasing everything before you die.
So like going through your house and cleaning out everything so that your children or your relatives
or your friends don't have to do it.
And so you go through and you like, I don't need this.
I don't need this. I don't need this. What do I actually need? I actually need very little.
It's the antidote to accumulation. So the south end is this feeling of like, I don't need to be
clutching onto that. So when people have their south node in their first house, that becomes part
of your persona and your orientation is someone who's like, ah, it's okay. I'll just let it go.
I'll let it go. I'll release it. Now, it all depends on what style. This is in. It all
depends on what sign this is in. Everyone does it in a different way. But when I've met people with
I have people, I have very close people with the South Node in the first house. And what I love about
them is there is this kind of feeling of like, I'm good. You know, like I'm good. I'm resource.
You can have it. I don't need to hold on to it in at least one or two areas of themselves in their
life. That's part of their persona. It actually makes for kind of a like cool vibe.
because there's a relaxedness there or there's at least the sense of someone not needing to clutch
onto or not wanting to devour everything because that's the North Node.
The North Node is this hungry head of the dragon and the South Node is the tail of the dragon
that sweeps everything away, sweeps everything off the table.
So part of having South Node in your first house can feel like you're losing things all the time.
It can feel like a loss of self, can feel like a loss of identity, can feel like it's hard
to attain things as a sense of self, as a person, as like, am I supposed to be more achievement
oriented? That kind of stuff could go through your head. But it also has this other quality
of, again, being a little bit more open, a little bit more willing to let things go. Now, of course,
that can be a problem too, because if you're just letting everything go, then the question is,
well, why? Don't you, do you care enough to try to hold on to something? Do you care
up, can you actually admit to yourself what is the thing that you want to fight for? Or is it too
hard for you to say, actually, I want that. I'm going to go for it. I'm going to be committed to
it. I'm driven to do that thing. It can be, it's like a thing you have to work around.
And so there's a sense of like being a little bit more at ease or a little bit not carefree,
but other people might read you as kind of carefree or cool or like, you know, unattached a little,
like easy.
I'm easy.
I'm breezy.
I don't care.
Whatever.
But the question is, don't you?
Why don't you?
What do you care about?
You know, like, what is it that you actually want to put some money on the table for, so to
speak?
What do you want to throw your hat in the ring for and actually like stick with it?
So that's the kind of thing you've always got to deal with.
I do always think, though, when I see the note.
in the first house, because it means that the other note is in the other house in the seventh house,
that there's this, you know, there's this eclipse energy that you're walking around with.
So there's also this feeling of like, ooh, exciting things happening and possibly life events
kind of eclipsing you, sense of self sometimes, or you feeling like an eclipse-ish kind of
energy to other people.
There's that vibe of like, ooh, the light's about to go out.
Am I going to be obscuring something?
something going to be obscuring me? Will I be covered up? Will other people be covered up by me?
There can be that kind of feeling because I don't know where your sun and moon are. So I don't know
where in the eclipse cycle you were born if you were born close to or not close to an eclipse.
But that can also be at play, again, depending on where the lights are. But there can be this
feeling of being a little eclipsey, meaning there's something flashing. There's something exciting.
and because the South Note is ever present in your kind of sense of self and in your motivation,
you are motivated, I would say, I'd ask you, are you motivated to be a little bit more like,
go with the flow?
That's all right.
Nothing really bothers me.
I'm good.
And then the question is, are you, though?
Not to like seed paranoia, but it's a good question to be with.
Like, is it okay for me to just let this go?
And if the answer is yes, great.
But if the answer is like, maybe I'm afraid to care about this, then that's the thing to kind of ponder.
You didn't tell me that that was your problem, so I don't know if it is.
But other people with the South Node in the first house might resonate with that.
Where is your South Node?
You can always check the Channy app to find out where it is and read the description of your South Node.
That is the place where you want to give things away.
That is the place where you want to release things.
That is a place where you'll naturally be like, oh, here, I got a lot of it.
or feel like, why am I always losing? Why can't I build here? And then you want to remedy it with
being like, how can I be generous and give stuff so that there is a channel for things to flow out in this
area of my life, but the good things don't flow out. All right. Sending you a lot to love. Look,
next week, we have a very wild solar eclipse in Aquarius. It's the first eclipse in Aquarius that
we've had near the North Node in a couple of decades. And it is sitting in a square de Uranus.
So, you know, it has a lot to say. It's also sitting with Mars. So it feels like a very important eclipse.
It feels a little volatile. I'll be honest. We've got to really dig into that care aspect, that Venus, Jupiter aspect in the sky right now.
Care for self, care for others. Keep those connections really strong and flowing.
Keep the goodness flowing. Keep the opportunities flowing. Keep the generosity flowing, flowing, flowing,
because we're going to need each other.
We need each other all the time, but we're really going to need each other now and especially
next week.
Sending you so much love, so many blessings.
Thank you for joining me, for trusting me with this analysis, thus far at least.
All right.
Bye for now.
