our website, channey nicholas.com. In this episode, we are looking at the astrology of the week of
July 18th. In terms of the tone of the week, this one does a 180. Like, the beginning of the week
will hurt our feelings. It is all about subterranean power dynamics coming to the surface. The
astrology signals a time for really deep conversations, the need to tackle tough subjects,
and the desire to get down to the bottom of things, to get to the truth of the matter.
In fact, for the researchers in the crowd, this is really good astrology that will help you get
that very obscure deep cut.
this is astrology that wants to help us uncover what has been long buried. If that is an emotion,
it will most likely be a little challenging to our ego, to our systems, to our reality. But again,
this is the moment to have that conversation that has been waiting to happen for a long time.
And I just want to say that the challenging astrology really only happens on Monday and Tuesday.
Monday, Mercury makes an opposition to Pluto.
And that's where these hidden facts or deeper truths come to the surface.
On a collective level, we might be noticing more conversations about power and abuses of power
and the power structures that we live within.
It's really helpful to have conversations about our agency during astrology.
this really it's always really good to have conversations about our agency but in moments like this
it can feel easy to be consumed by something larger than us and to feel a loss of control or a loss
of power and so to re-center what we do have power over and where our personal power actually
resides can be really transformative because this kind of astrology and also Tuesday's
brings up the topics of power dynamics,
interpersonal, communal, global, etc.
On Tuesday, the sun makes the same opposition to Pluto that Mercury does on Monday.
And this shines the light into the caves of power,
into the power structures of our world.
And it can feel a little bit like a moment of,
this is my personal power and that is the structural power systems that I live within.
So again, it is a really good moment to center our awareness on what we have agency around
and also to understand what is coming to light about the power dynamics in our interpersonal
relationships, in our world, in our communities, in our workplaces and beyond.
What does it mean to share power?
What does it mean to use our power in ways that can be transformational?
What does it mean to be awake to our own power and to not dismiss it and not degrade it and to actually own it and work with it?
That's what the beginning of the week's astrology poses in terms of questions to meditate on.
And then there's a whole other thing that happens.
A little later in the week, but there is a bridge between the beginning of the week and the end of the week.
On Tuesday, Mercury changes signs.
It moves from cancer into Leo.
And as soon as that happens, it leaves that opposition with Pluto.
And it starts to enter into a trine with Jupiter, which is one of the nicest things that can happen.
And it is totally opposite from what just occurs.
heard. So again, the beginning of the week brings us into the depths. It wants to help us to unpack
this subterranean underlying context that is impacting our relationships and our communications and
ourselves and the world. It wants to get into the nitty gritty, dirty details of what is happening
between us. And then Mercury moves in to Leo, where it is bold and confident.
and looking for triumphant leadership.
And it moves into the most affirming relationship it can move into
with the most affirming, optimistic planet it can come into contact with, Jupiter.
And this signals a moment of really good news and bold ideas and conversations
that help us to expand our sense of self and what is possible for us.
So we go from the depths of the underworld, wanting to unpack all of the subterranean
underlying reasons for doing what we do, into the bright, bold light of day,
into unknown spaces and towards far off horizons.
And when I look at that cycle of events, it reminds me of the healing journey.
It's kind of what happens.
We go into the underworld.
We go into those places that are unknown within us.
And we encounter something that is powerful and we encounter something that is scary.
We encounter something that evokes a really strong emotion from us.
We unpack it.
We understand it.
We incorporate it.
We are transformed by it when we are not afraid to look at it.
And then from that place, I don't know about you, but I usually feel a sense of relief and then a sense of self-expansion.
And that's kind of the trajectory of Mercury this week, the messenger.
So through the astrology, I feel like we're going to go through a similar type of cycle as above so below.
Beginning of the week, we unearth something that might be a little scary.
It might be a little evocative.
it might be a little intense and evoke some big emotions.
But in doing so, in unpacking that, in processing it, and coming to terms with it,
we also get the gold.
We get that psychological gold.
We get to come up triumphant and experience that Mercury-Trine Jupiter moment.
So let's talk about that for a second.
Mercury trines Jupiter on Saturday the 23rd.
But on Friday the 22nd, the sun enters Leo.
At 107 p.m. Pacific time, the sun will enter Leo and Leo season will begin.
The sun rules Leo, so it's super strong.
And because Mercury is in Leo right now, once the sun moves into Leo,
Mercury is all the more kind of amped up and able to do its job.
So as Mercury moves into a trine with Jupiter, we are more open to good news. We are more open to a positive frame of mind.
We are also more prone to be able to give and receive information that feels in alignment with abundance and generativity and also a sense of openness and inclusion.
That's Jupiter.
Jupiter's like, yeah, let everybody in.
It's great.
Everyone should have some.
And remember, Mercury just came from an opposition to Pluto,
which is much more skeptical and also can be a little bit paranoid and is definitely
concerned with what's happening below the surface and not necessarily trusting things.
But then Mercury moves into a situation where it's incredibly trusting, again, very inclusive.
and very abundance mindset in terms of its outlook and the communications it's putting forth.
So in a nutshell, the beginning of the week is going to be deep and intense.
And by the weekend, we are all set to party.
We are all set to have a good time.
We are all set to light up the stages of our life and let the good times roll.
And there's something to be said here for the relief that comes.
comes after the deep internal investigations and our willingness to grapple with the truth of the
situation. That is the beginning of the week. And then the end of the week feels like the after
party. So I'm all here for it. It's quick astrology. It's not stuff that is going to last forever.
It really is just speaking about the week mostly. Next week we get into some
tricky terrain. So I really, really, really encourage us to enjoy this first little part of Leo
season. This weekend is some of the better moments that Leo season has to bring. So go forth,
prosper, party, have a good time, take care of yourselves and each other. And as always,
share whatever abundance comes to you. Once again, we wanted to thank you.
thank everyone for leaving a review of the Chani app in the App Store. It's no small thing to take a
minute out of your day to do so. So we're also moved and so grateful that you do. I wanted to share
a recent review with you. It is titled Clear and Explanatory Astrology. So many astrologers
rave on about planets, houses, transits, sex styles, blah, de blah. And so many of us get lost in the
lingo. I find Chani excellent because she carefully explains as she navigates the astrological
changes each week. I'm new to the Chani premium subscription and loving my individual birth chart
readings. It's revolutionary that Chani and her team have found a way to do this for us on an app.
I have had personal face-to-face astrology readings on and off for 30 years. And I'm really impressed with
the Chani app. If you're questioning this, my recommendation is to go for it. She's the queen and she's
fun. Thanks, Channy. Sending you lots of love, many, many blessings. Bye for now.
