Episode Date: June 24, 2024Episode 184 In this podcast, New York Times bestselling author and astrologer Chani Nicholas discusses the astrology of the week and what it might mean for us all. The astrology of the week of June 24...th, 2024, prompts celebration and evaluation as we settle into Cancer season. On Wednesday, Venus (the planet of beauty) squares the lunar nodes, calling us to refine the shared spaces we hold for love and justice. Later that day, Mercury (the messenger planet) trines Saturn (the planet of boundaries), infusing our manifestation practices and long-term plans with pragmatism. On Friday, Venus sextiles Mars (the planet of action) and spurs us toward the relationships and creative projects that bring us joy. Then on Saturday, Saturn stations retrograde and asks us to review the structures we’ve been building since March 2023. Finally, Mercury sextiles Uranus on Saturday, catalyzing reinvention in our communications and thought processes. Overall, this week buzzes with possibility. This episode was recorded on 05/27/2024. Hello and welcome.
This is the Astrology of the Week Ahead podcast.
I'm your host, Chani, Nicholas.
And in this episode, we're talking about the week of June 24th.
In this podcast, we look at the astrology of the upcoming week
and how it will be landing for all of us collectively.
For a more personalized reading that dives into the ways that this week's astrology
will play out for you, download the Chani app.
Okay, y'all, we just had that full moon in Capricorn over the last weekend.
The full moon was on Friday.
And we just had the solstice.
And so there's just been this big energetic shift.
We've just moved into a new season.
So I want you to take a moment and think about what happened over the course of last Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
And if you felt like there was, or if there was any big significant shift or change, or even a
smaller but significant change, maybe in your focus, maybe in your energy level, maybe just in
the way that you're approaching things, you might have felt a little bit of an unsticking.
You know, like there's those moments where like, okay, I think I've digested something.
I think I've gotten through a hurdle.
something has cleared itself out of my system or maybe even of my life.
Now that full moon was the first of two full moons in Capricorn. We're going to have one three weeks
from now, a monthish from now. So know that the area of your chart that contains Capricorn
is getting that like one, two situation with again one and then two full moons. So there's something
being amplified in that part of your chart, the part of your chart that contains Capricorn.
And this week, we are like settling into this new season. There are some things going on this week,
but there's nothing significant in the kind of scope of 2024 happening this week. So it's a little
bit more of an astrologically mild week. It doesn't mean that things won't happen to you and your
life that won't be significant. Because it's important. It's important.
to remember that there's the stuff going on in the sky that you and I talk about here. And then
there's how this stuff in the sky is connected to your own personal astrological chart. And that's
when you go and look at the transit section of the Chani app because maybe there's not a giant
significant thing happening right now, but like in the sky for all of us, but there could be
something happening for you personally. So this is a kind of collect.
reading, if you will, and quite often you'll notice that it will align with things in your life.
And then there's your very personal reading, which, again, the transit section of the app goes into
great detail about. Okay. So this week we're settling into cancer season. We still have the sun.
We still have Venus. We still have Mercury and Cancer. So we're still talking about what is nurturing,
what is nourishing and how to create systems of care, how we create a life based on care.
How do we care for ourselves?
How do we end up feeling well nourished and like we are getting our needs met so that we can
show up in the world with a full cup, if you will, or with a little extra to give in some way,
shape or form. I don't want to be perfectionist about this. There's no right or wrong way to do it.
But this is what cancer season is such a good reminder of. So the first little piece of astrology that we
have this week happens on Wednesday. In Venus, the Mercury did this last week, but Venus will do
this this week and the sun will do it next week. Venus goes over the point in cancer that makes a
square to the north and south node. The north and south node are the places where eclipses
happened. Happened and happened. So we had eclipses in the end of March and April,
and we will have eclipses again at the end of September and October. And whatever is
happening this week is related possibly to what was going on in March, April for you, or what
will go on again at the end of September, October for you.
or for us collectively. So when things do this, when, you know, planets cross over the nodes,
especially, but even when they square them, we might think of how this moment is connected to other
points in time, and the points in time being the last eclipse and the next eclipse. And then on
Saturday, the moon will go over the north node. So it does feel like there's something going on
this week. There's conversations this week or there are relationship dynamics this week that, again,
and are about a bigger scope of things that are happening in our life.
So what does this mean for you, for us?
Venus is the planet of relationship and beauty and art and culture making,
but it's also a planet about justice and fairness and equality,
because you can't have a relationship without that.
So there will be some kind of conversation.
Now, Venus, again, is in cancer.
So this might have to do with care.
This might have to do with parenting.
this might have to do with anything that is about bonding.
And if we're looking at the world stage, Venus can also represent women, can represent
LGBTQ folks, can represent stylists, artists can represent folks that are concerned with
and that work towards, again, creating justice or creating spaces where justice can happen.
So as Venus makes us square to the nodes, that is going to be amplified.
Those messages are going to be amplified.
And on a personal level, we might have a little relationship, stumbling block situation,
something happens that, again, might be tied to a longer story for us.
So it's not the end of it, but it is a kind of chapter in a story about a relationship
issue that we're working through. Also on Wednesday, we've got Mercury making a trine to Saturn,
which is really, really, really great for making long-term plans and for solidifying a communication,
being like, okay, let's definitely finish this conversation on Wednesday. Let's get it done.
Let's get it down on paper. Let's get the lay of the land clear and concise. And it's also a really nice time for
talking about and thinking about what it is we're wanting to manifest, especially in regards to
our dreams. Saturn is pulling focus this week. It's the other thing that's happening this week
because it's stationing retrograde on Saturday. And Saturn right now is in Pisces. So on the world stage,
we might hear about things that have to do with water, waterways, something about oceans,
something about, again, any kind of water issue. And in our personal life, because Saturn is the
planet of making things real and can be thought of as a planet of manifestation or, again,
bringing things into form and structure, it gives things a structure. And because it's in Pisces,
and it's stationing retrograde, this is a really good time to review what it is we're doing
in that area of our life. So listen to your reading this week.
for the week of June 24th and listen to what I talk about in regards to where Saturn is. It's a review
of the structures we've been building in our life since March of 2023. And the review is really
important because, you know, when we're trying to create something and bring something into form,
it's important to review the form that we're working on because maybe the form and the function
don't actually go together and we have to adjust the form a little bit. So that's
it remains functional in our life. And on Wednesday, we're talking about something that we're
wanting to bring into form and structure. It's a good day to have a conversation about what it is
we're wanting to bring into reality. Then on Friday, Venus and Mars make a little sex style
with each other, which is exciting and fun, and I love it for a Friday because it is adventurous
in a way. I mean, Venus is in cancer and Mars isn't tourists, so it's also quite cuddly.
So maybe we get adventurous about our snacks and our naps. But and also, this is about something
getting stimulated between the principles of creating beauty and connection and taking action
and making sure that we move boldly in a direction that's going to also like satisfy our needs.
because Mars right now is in Venus's sign. So Mars struggles in Venus's sign, but in this moment,
they really help each other out. So it's like a good little flirtatious moment with life.
So I think it's a really good moment to take action to initiate relationships and to initiate creative
projects and to initiate having fun and enjoying yourself. It's Friday. It's Venus's Day. Let us celebrate.
Then on Saturday, Saturn stations retrograde and Mercury makes a sex style with Uranus.
So again, the Saturn stationing retrograde of it all is going to pull focus on the area of our
chart and therefore the area of our life where Pisces lives, right? So if Pisces is in your
fifth house of creative self-expression, then Saturn is going to be pulling focus in that area of your
life and saying, what have you built here? Do you like it? Is this the structure you want to work within?
Is this a good plan? How do we want to keep manifesting the shape of this thing? Bringing this thing
into form and structure. So just think about like reviewing the blueprints of something in your life.
And you can also, in a general sense, just think about what it is you started to get more serious about
in March of 2023 because that's also a piece of this.
So in that area of 2023, what was it that started to take shape? What did you start to get serious about?
What did you start to feel like, oh, this is mine to feel responsible for? This is mine to be dedicated and committed to.
It's a really good time to re-reviewing your commitments. Again, your commitment to manifesting a dream.
Maybe that's in a relationship. Maybe that's in regards to your health and wellness.
Maybe that's in regards to your friendships and building community.
Maybe it's in regards to something that you want to do personally.
Listen to your reading.
Figure out where this is happening in your life.
In general, this is a time where because there's so much happening in water signs,
we want to think about how we feel about what we're trying to make a reality.
Because if we don't feel emotionally compelled to do it, if we don't feel excited about it,
if we don't feel moved by it, if we don't feel illuminated by it, if we don't feel ecstatic
about it at some point, if we don't feel exhilarated at the thought of making that thing a reality,
it probably doesn't have the emotional energy that it needs to. And if that's the case,
we might want to rethink why we're trying to make that thing happen. And maybe it just needs a little
bit of an adjustment, which is what retrogrades are so good for helping us do. And
Saturn is going to be retrograde for like five months. So it's not every day we're going to do this.
But on the day at stations retrograde, it's good to, you know, dedicate or the week or that kind of time frame.
It's good to think like, okay, this is an important thing for me to readjust or think about reshaping.
Again, going back to the blueprints of what it is we're planning on, we're bringing about, we're working towards, and making sure that the structures are sound.
and the structures can't be sound if we're not thrilled about the inevitability of this thing
coming about. So check your emotional responses to it and see what adjustments you need to make,
maybe internally or externally, in order to be like, ah, yes, this feels energetically thrilling
to be working on. And it's not that every single thing we do working towards it is going to be
thrilling, but the idea of being part of making it happen, making it happen with your world,
with the world, with life, right? Like, it's not just you making it happen. It's you and your life
are coming together as co-conspirators and co-creators and all the other people that are going to
help you bring this about and you're conspiring to do this thing. The idea of all of that,
I think, needs to be thrilling in order for it to be manifested in a way. It's a way.
that feels worthwhile, right? Like, I don't want to work on stuff that I'm not excited about doing.
It's a bummer. And you know when you're working on something, you're like, I shouldn't be doing this.
This isn't mine. Even if it's like a good thing to do, it's got to feel like, oh, this is mine to be part of.
This is mine to work on with other people. This is mine to bring about with the collective, for the collective.
This is like, I'm part of this. Like, this hasn't even begun yet. But the, I'm,
idea of it, just the thought of it, I like my hair stand up. I feel good. I feel like, yeah,
that's something I want to get out of bed and do and work towards a little bit at a time.
That's also what this week is really good for. And I go into a lot of detail about that
in your weekly reading again. Thank you all so much for leaving us reviews in the app store.
It means the world to us because it really does mean so much and it does make such a difference
for our company, for this app.
I wanted to leave you with this review.
It's called Acupuncture Shoutout.
I really enjoyed the Q2 Scorpio Rising Reading, especially the part about acupuncture.
As an acupuncturist of 25 years, I loved the way that you described a tiny needle releasing stuck chi
and how it may hurt for a second, but that ultimately it's so helpful for your health.
I know a lot of people listen to you, so thank you for the shoutout.
I appreciate how accurate your readings are.
I enjoy listening to your soothing voice as well as an oversensitive Scorpio rising in a relationship
with an oversensitive Scorpio with a cancer moon.
We're both working on it.
Your calm voice helps me get through the challenging patches in my relationship.
and keep my eyes on the big picture.
All right, y'all.
Next week, we have a really, really, really lovely new moon in cancer.
Always love a new moon in cancer.
This one just so happens to be sitting with Venus, which is extra lovely, and gives it a little juz, a little glam team glow up.
So we love that.
We're going to be working with it.
Come back and we'll talk all about it.
Until then, I'm sending you lots of love.
many, many, many, many, many blessings. Take really good care of yourself and each other. Bye for now.
