Before we get in to this week's episode that I recorded weeks ago, I wanted to address what happened on June 24th when the Supreme Court overturned Roeby Wade, ending 50 years of federal abortion rights in the United States.
This is a major blow to our human rights.
This decision will disproportionately impact folks that are already systemically oppressed.
This moment is not surprising, but it is incredibly alarming.
And this week's astrology still boasts of a beautiful new moon and cancer, which I talk all
about in this week's episode.
And in light of this week's news, it feels especially poignant.
Because cancer is a sign that teaches us how to protect.
and nourish what is most vulnerable.
It teaches us how to bond with one another
and how that bond between us keeps us safe.
We are each other's safety nets,
and I hope that this new moon helps to awaken us to that reality.
I urge us all to get involved in the ways that we feel called to,
and I wanted to let you know that if you want to fund abortion access,
for survivors of gender-based violence,
you can go to freefrom.org and click on the button, donate.
Every single dollar will go directly to survivors seeking abortions.
Okay, now for this week's episode.
The new moon on June 28th is one of the best new moons of the year to work with.
This new moon is imbued with qualities of optimism and growth and expansion, as well as nourishment and sustenance and care.
And it is the kind of combination that isn't easy to come by all the time in astrology.
In general, new moons are really good times for setting intentions, initiating new projects,
and recommitting to all that we want to bring in to the world.
And doing so is no joke.
It takes a lot of time and energy and effort and heart and soul.
And so we might as well start the projects that we can under the best conditions possible.
And this new moon offers us just that.
This is the astrology of the week ahead.
And I'm your host, Channy Nicholas.
In this podcast, we look at the world.
the astrology of the upcoming week and how it will be landing for all of us collectively.

In this episode, we're looking at the week of June 27th.
Now, before we get going, for those of you that are new to astrology or you're just kind of figuring out how to work with it, there's a couple of different things that astrology does.
It can tell us an extraordinary amount about ourselves and our life purpose.
And that we get through understanding our birth chart.
So if you go to the Chani app and you look at the birth chart section of the app, it'll tell you all about your life chart.
life's purpose, why you came here, what you're talented at, what your difficulties are, where your
growth edges are, where your gifts are, and what to do with them. And that is just the most invaluable
tool ever. Astrology can tell you a lot about your relationships and about the timing of your life,
and you can look for the timing of your life under transits and get to know what is going on for
you personally. And then there's just like the layout of the year, the kind of cosmic weather
conditions that we are all living under collectively. And that's what we talk about in this
podcast. And it's such an incredible life hack for lack of a better way to say it. When we look at
the astrology of the moment of the week, of the day, of the month, of the year, we're looking at
the weather conditions, the patterns that we're living under. And if I look at, you know, the weather
for the day and it's raining, I might want to take an umbrella. Maybe I like walking the rain and I
won't, but I might want to wear like, you know, the shoes that are going to cover my feet.
If it's really hot outside, I'm going to want to bring water and I'm going to want to bring a
hat. And that's what we're talking about here. We're talking about the astrological weather
conditions of the moment. And sometimes astrology tells us when to pause, when to review,
when to brace ourselves, when things are going to be emotionally challenging, and when they're
most likely to be really good. And this week, again, tells us that we're under a fleeting,
very short moment that's really good for initiating things. It's really good for beginning,
new ventures. And that's just data. You can work with that however you want. I want you to have the
information so that you can work with it in the best way possible for you in this moment in your life.
There's no right or wrong way to work with this information. It's just information. And the more
you start to attune yourself to it, the more guidance you'll get from it, the more you'll realize what
works for you? What doesn't? When is a good time for you to move? When is a good time for you to pause and
reflect? And why? And the reason why new moons are good times to begin with is because there is no
light that the moon has at the moment. It is renewing its cycle with the sun. And the days after the new
moon, from the new moon to the full moon, the moon builds in light. And so we can think about all of our
intentions and all of our goals and all of the energy that we put into something at the new moon
building with the light of the moon. So you can think of it as riding an energetic wave with the
moon. You get it at the beginning and you get to use or work with or benefit from it building
in light every day. And of course, the growth cycle of something is much longer than the two weeks
in between a new and a full moon. And you can even think about the fact that if you plant seeds at
the new moon, say in this instance, it's the cancer new moon, that in six months from now,
there'll be a full moon in cancer. And so you can think about planting seeds now that will come to
full fruition about six months from now. And that's because now you're having a new moon in cancer
in a certain area of your chart.
And in six months from now, you'll have a full moon in cancer in the same area in your chart.
And full moons speak to peak experiences.
So as you work with this new moon this week, I want you to think about where it's happening
in your chart.
And you can listen to your reading on the Chani app for this week.
You can also read your new moon horoscope on the homepage of the Chani app.
And it'll tell you what areas.
of your life it's happening in. And think about that area. And if you are starting anything here,
what you might hope for it to grow into about six months from now. And you don't have to know all of
the exact ways in which you'd hope it to grow, but just thinking like, okay, if this is the
intention that I'm planting, if this is the action that I'm taking, what might I hope for it to
become about six months from now? As one of the iterative.
of its growth cycle. So one of the reasons why this new moon is so good is because it's in cancer.
The moon loves to be in cancer, so it's always going to be strong there. Mercury is no longer
retrograde, so that is lovely. And on the same day as the new moon, Venus is making a sex style
with Jupiter, which is just about the best thing that Venus can do. Venus's signature move in
traditional astrology is a sex style. So it's one of the most powerful things that Venus can do.
And because Venus and Jupiter are the two planets that are known, at least on the Chani app as the
do-good duo, the two planets that want to bring about goodness, sweetness, growth, expansion,
connection, pleasure, love, relationship, et cetera, when they get together in a positive
relationship like a sex style, like they are on the new moon, it's just extra good. And Jupiter is making a
square to this new moon, which is also trying to tease out the growth and the opportunities
and a kind of sense of abundance. Because it's a square, it might make our emotions a little bit more
heightened than normal, but heightened emotions aren't necessarily a bad thing, right? They're just
a big feeling. And if you think about manifesting and the ways in which manifesting,
something works, we actually need big feelings. We need big desire if we're going to bring something
into being. And on that note, I just want to say that what I see a lot of people doing, and I just
want to say people is also me. I'm pointing the figure at myself. What I see a lot of us doing, what I see
myself do a lot and my friends and people I know, is that quite often we want something and we say,
yes, I'm going to go after this thing. I'm going to manifest this thing. I'm going to bring
this thing into being. I'm going to create this thing. I want this thing. I'm going for this thing.
And then I go and do all these other things that make that desire impossible to achieve,
to manifest, to create. And I see us all the time choosing everything else but the thing we want.
And there's a million reasons for that. But I just want to say that if you feel like I'm talking to you,
I'm literally talking to you.
And I would highly suggest that you work with this new moon in a way that helps you to focus in
on the thing that you most want to nourish and nurture in your life.
And you learn to say no to the things that get in the way of that.
Is it hard?
Yes.
Can we have everything all the time and never have to go away?
without and get everything we want. No, it's just not possible. And because Jupiter is squaring this new
moon, we might feel a little like our attention is everywhere. And so one of the red flags of this
is that we want too much all the time. And one of the key principles to bringing something into being
is to saying no to anything that will interrupt that process of becoming. So what do you
need to say no to in order to say yes to the thing that you so desire. So the new moon and
cancer occurs on June 28th at 7.52 p.m. Pacific time. So if you're in a later time zone,
that might be June 29th. And Venus makes that sex style to Jupiter at 8.52 p.m. Pacific time on
June 28th. And we'll be feeling that Venus, Jupiter, sex style throughout the first part of the week.
And this really lovely astrology imbues the first part of the week. I will just make a little note here
that Neptune does station retrograde on the 28th way earlier in the day about 12.55 a.m. Pacific time.
So that does color things a little bit. But I do think that the
imagination and creativity and ability to help us fantasize that Neptune brings can aid in the
ways in which we work with this new moon. But again, I think what's really important is to
hold the boundaries that we need. Anything that grows that comes into being is within a
boundaryed incubator. There's a lot that we're keeping out in order to foster this new life.
So thinking about the containers that you need to create and honor and the boundaries that you need to set in order to hold space for this desire or intention or new beginning.
And then another theme that's happening throughout the week is on Monday, Mars in Ares makes a very helpful sex style to Saturn on Monday, which helps us go the distance and get things done.
but by Friday, Mars is making a square to Pluto.
And this is really contentious.
It's a very powerful aspect, and it is asking us to tap into what our personal power and agency is and how we want to direct it and use it.
And it could very well bring up some interpersonal power dynamics that get a little dicey.
And we might notice this in our personal lives, or we might notice it in the collective.
either in our social lives or in the world at large.
But it does feel like something is broiling under the surface.
And with Mars and Ares, it doesn't stay under the surface for long.
It actually breaks the surface and has some fisciness to it.
Things could feel very annoying or annoyed or aggravated or frayed in some way, shape, or form.
But it is a deeply entrenched power to.
dynamic that we're sorting through or up against or looking at or seeing out in the world.
So our work is always to see how that plays out internally and externally and seeing if there's
anything to do about it or if it is something to observe in the moment and just take note of.
And then on Saturday, Mercury does this weird thing where it makes a very helpful trying to
Saturn and a very confusing, unhelpful square to Neptune.
What this means in short is that there's some good plans and some good work that we can do, but quickly it turns to mush.
And because it's happening on a weekend, I'm just going to go with the interpretation that Saturday and Sunday are good days to just go with the flow, have not very many set plans or expectations about how things are going to go.
and just to allow things to fall apart if they fall apart to get messy, if they get messy,
to feel like, well, I guess we're not going to do that.
And pivot at a moment's notice because it does feel like a mini mercury retrograde.
It doesn't last for long, but it does move through this weekend.
And it might be nice just to like be very unfazed by things coming and going or never showing up at all.
All right, y'all, that is the reading. Before we go, I just wanted to read a app review that someone left. We love and appreciate anyone, everyone who leaves a review in the app store. And I just wanted to share this one with you. This one is by I see, said Marie, weekly support that I now can't imagine living without. I have been a premium subscriber to the Chani app for a couple of months now. And I can't imagine life without.
