Starting point is 00:00:00 Big week for Leo's, wild week for Gemini's, massive week for Capricorns, and kind of a glitchy week for cancer. Hello and welcome. This is the astrology of the week ahead podcast. I'm your host, your Astro Bestie. Channing Nicholas, in this episode, we are talking about the wild, wild week of June 29th. There is a year's worth of astrology in just Monday alone. Monday Mercury Stations retrograde. It's going to be retrograde for most of July. For like the next three weeks, Mercury is going to be retrograding through cancer. This is a sign that's really
Starting point is 00:00:43 nostalgic. This is a sign that loves memories, that loves memorabilia, that loves to collect things and keep them forever in its little pincers. This is a mercury retrograde where we are going to be in a process of remembering how we felt way back when. Something's going to happen now that's going to remind us of how we felt then. And this is the deal. Each emotion that we have needs to do its thing. Each emotion that we have needs to be expressed. Because when it's expressed, it gets to live its little thing out and then it dissipates. Each emotion that is repressed gets weirder and makes you weirder and gets wonkier and makes life feel wonkier and eventually explodes. And so this Mercur retrograde is a reflection
Starting point is 00:01:49 on how we allow ourselves to feel the emotions that are present, let them roll through and the wisdom there within. We don't have to act on every emotion. Feelings are not facts. We all know all the little sayings, all the little ditties about our emotional life. But this is a really good time to reflect on how emotionally intelligent are we, given the hardest emotional situations that we might find ourselves in. I'm not saying it's going to be full of emotionally challenging conversations. Just that's one of the top. There's something about memory here and reflecting on like, when was the first time I felt like this? When was the first time this happened?
Starting point is 00:02:34 Or there's something here about wanting to be cognizant of something that is coming back up to the surface for me to rethink. Mercury retrogrades are always important times to reevaluate the systems and how they're working in our life. So cancer is a memory keeper. I want to think about how am I working through my memories? Like sometimes I realize, like, I've been really putting that person on a pedestal, and they don't deserve it at all. But I'm remembering something from a former iteration of myself that put them up on a pedestal, and I don't need to do that anymore.
Starting point is 00:03:20 It could be one of those mercury retrogrades. So Mercury is stationing retrograde on Monday, the 20. 9th of June the same day as there's a full moon in Capricorn. Big huge full moon in sturdy, reliable, responsible, goal-oriented Capricorn. This is a very high functioning full moon. This is a full moon that when it's happening is catching Jupiter just at the very edge of cancer right before it slides into Leo on the same day as the full moon. and Mercury Station's retrograde, Jupiter changes signs. We're having a once in 12 year. What happened to you 12 years ago? What happened to you back in 2014? It was going on for you in
Starting point is 00:04:11 2014. We're going back to that Jupiter in Leo moment, like particularly July of 2014 all the way to June, July of 2015. That was the last time Jupiter was in Leo. So what was the big growth that you went through back then? This is a new different, but, you know, rhymes with new iteration of that growth cycle. So obviously, giant for Leo placements. Huge for Leo risings. Eventually huge for Leo Rizings. Eventually huge for Leo Sun. Leo Moon. Leo Venus. Leo Mercury. Leo anything. So who's having their Jupiter return? Do you have Jupiter in Leo? This is the beginning of your Jupiter return. Any placements in Leo will be beefed up, will be extra bouncy, will be full of hot air, lots of pizzazz, many disco balls spinning, many, many, many, many, many, many,
Starting point is 00:05:18 spot lights lighting you up. Wherever Leo is in your chart, we all have Leo somewhere in our chart. This is where Jupiter will be blessing us, trying to bless us, work with Jupiter so that it can bless you in the area of your life that contains Leo. The interesting thing about this Jupiter and Leo transit is that soon in July, the South node will come through Leo and then in August we're going to have eclipses in Leo near the South node. So there's a very, this is a very different type of Jupiter in Leo transit. We'll talk a lot about it once we get into those months, but as much as we grow with Jupiter and Leo, there will be a cleaning out and a clearing out. So we want to think about it as like, okay, abundance. And then we'll be.
Starting point is 00:06:10 weeding the garden and then abundance and then weeding the garden. Abundance and then being specific about what we keep and what we release. So it's not just like big huge overgrown all the time every six months, a couple times, you know, actually more than that. It'll be like a steady kind of grooming and like cleaning out as we go along. So there'll be a boost and then a clearing, and then a boost and then a clearing, I think. I think that's how it's going to go. We'll see. Okay, so that is just Monday, and that's not even all of Monday. On Monday, also, Mars squares the nodes, which feels like, ooh, ooh, a little bumpy, a little, a little chitter-chattery. Mars is in Gemini about to make a conjunction with Uranus, a very, very loud, disruptive conjunction on July 3rd slash 4th.
Starting point is 00:07:07 I don't know if you know of anything going on on July 4th that might be loud and disruptive, but I do. The astrology is saying fireworks. You know what I'm saying? I don't know if they're planned fireworks or not, but it feels, looks like, sounds like, smells like there's some big disruptive energy at the end of this week. I will be burrowed deep in a hole somewhere with my loved ones. That's all I'm saying. Now, still staying with Monday. because I didn't really get into the full moon on Monday. But obviously Monday is a very action-packed day. It's like Jupiter changing signs is a major event. It happens once a year, but it's a major tone shift. Jupiter has been in cancer trying to give us protection via neighboring and Hearness and Doiakat and being
Starting point is 00:08:00 connected to one another, being in solidarity with one another, showing up for one another. and now it's changing signs. It's moving in to Leo. So that is going to be a very big tone shift for the world. It does add a lot more heat to the already very inflamed situation. There's a lot of fire and air happening right now. And that is fun or wild or full of movement, maybe all of the above, sometimes, you know, take a little of this, a little of that, but it's very much in flux. Like fire and air doesn't exist here where I can hold it. It's, you know, it's moving around. It is what we breathe. It is obviously fire is, you know, I can't touch it. I can't hold it. But it's energy. It's energy, it's movement. Elementally speaking, it's action.
Starting point is 00:08:57 And air circulates things. And so there's a lot of energy swirling. around up here. It's not very deep and embodied and grounded and emotionally centered. You know what I'm saying? So there's a lot of commotion now. Astrologically speaking, elementally speaking, feels like a lot is at play. There's not a lot that's grounded or steady or reliable or known. We're in a different time, a time of great change because everything's shifting like the winds. They just change like a fire, just like it's moving one way. And then all of a sudden, a gust of wind comes. And it changes course.
Starting point is 00:09:38 And that's what this summer, that's what this June, July and definitely into August, is giving. It's giving a lot of windy, gusty, fiery signals, signs. So we're changing tone and temperament. Now, just to go back to the full moon, That's just a small piece. I said it was a giant, huge, massive moment for Capricorn. And it is. Every time we have a full moon, especially if you're Capricorn rising, then it's in your
Starting point is 00:10:10 first house. It's a moment for you. It's a spotlight kind of moment. This Capricorn full moon, like all, are really good to be like, what does my body need? Well, how do I need to take care of myself? Because the moon doesn't do that in Capricorn, so we need to adjust for that. So the moon in Capricorn is like, okay, I need extra resources. The moon and Capricorn needs extra nourishment and nurturance and love and sweetness and care and rest.
Starting point is 00:10:37 And also this full moon is sitting in a square to Saturn. So it feels like there is a consequence here or there's a hard line here or there's a need to make a commitment or put down a boundary here. Again, a lot is changing. Today, Jupiter is changing signs. So in the midst of the change and also Mercury's stationing retrograde, in the midst of some of the confusion, in the midst of some of the got my hairs crossed, signals crossed, wires crossed, where do you need to draw the line? Where do you need to be like, you know what? This is all I can do.
Starting point is 00:11:17 I can do this, but I can't do that. So I'm just going to draw the line here. Where do you need to put a stake in the ground and be like this and no more? this is how I'm going to take care of myself. I can't do everything. Can't do everything. It's a marathon. I don't need to do everything. What are the essentials? Where are the miscommunications? Where might things get dropped? Signals get missed. And what is this change that's taking place? Now, where is Leo in my chart? Go listen to your reading in the Chani app. I talk all about it. And then on Friday the 3rd and into the weekend, definitely July 4th, we have Mars and Uranus making a
Starting point is 00:12:01 conjunction. Now, this is textbook explosive astrology. This is textbook disruptive astrology. This is textbook calamity, made a mistake, accidents happen, kind of astrology. This is astrology. Mars and Uranus and Gemini that was present during the founding of this nation. In one of the astrology charts for the USA, there is Mars and Uranus and Gemini. This is also astrology that was present at the beginning of the Civil War. Yeah, Mars was in Gemini with Uranus and Gemini. So this country, I'm not saying that you're in this country with me, but this country that it's a pain in the ass for every other country, especially right now, but basically is always,
Starting point is 00:12:55 you know, meddling everywhere. This country has a special relationship to a Mars-Urinus conjunction in Gemini specifically. It's like, you know, kind of wild, rare, weird setup. So I don't know what's going to happen. I'm recording this in May. I don't know what's going on beginning of July. I might sound so out of touch by the time you hear this because I'm having to record it so far in the past because we were on summer vacation and we had a staff retreat and, you know, I just sometimes I have to get ahead. So I don't know. But from this vantage point, that looks like I'm going to do the opposite of explosive. I'm going to do the opposite of outward disruptive chaos just for chaos's sake. I am going to do the systems update. I am going to do,
Starting point is 00:13:46 and I talked about this last week, the reordering of my world. What is my world order? Like, who is in my world? What is my world existing of? And what do I need to do to update the ways in which I'm working in this system? Like, what is my new world order? As of now, as of this year, as of maybe 2025. But, like, things have changed socially for me.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Have they not for you? Things have changed for me in terms of like, this is where I put my energy socially. This is who I talk to. This is how I can move the needle in my sphere. This is my sphere of influence. And this is how I can spend my intellectual energy. This is how I can speak. This is who I can talk to. This is who I can be in community with. This is who I can be in conversation with. This is how I can reorder things so that I can start to feel like I am in a network that is trying to reinvent, reinvigorate, reconstruct the world so that it might have room for all of us in it and give the dignity that all of us deserve. I say that because, again, I know I've said this so many times,
Starting point is 00:15:05 but again, just in case you're new here, hi, welcome, thanks for coming. The last time Uranus was in Gemini was World War II, NATO. It was a reordering of the world. It was a different social structure that we, as a world, created. And so this is a signal for a new world order externally, globally, but also internally and communally. So as Mars and Uranus make that conjunction, maybe it'll just be loud internally. I don't know. Sometimes the most obviously disruptive astrological marks don't line up with something that is externally disruptive, beyond what will already be disruptive. Like I said last week, fireworks that I'm sure to be going off from here to kingdom come.
Starting point is 00:15:55 And then Mars goes on to do some really cute things. Mars then makes a sex style to Neptune and a trine to Pluto, which could be very helpful, again, for being like, okay, socially, this is how we're moving. This is who I want to hang out with. This is how I want to party this weekend. This is what I want to do that's going to feel supportive. This is who I want to align with because they have the same hopes and dreams as I do. This is who I want to be in community with because they seem really committed to the kind of transformation that I am, socially, collectively speaking.
Starting point is 00:16:31 So that feels helpful and also like big. It just feels like, you know, Mars is this fast moving. planet is in touch with all of these big, slow-moving planets this weekend. So again, the full moon feels consequential because it's in a square to Saturn and it feels like, whoa, that's heavy. And then the end of the week feels like, okay, there's a lot of conversation. There's a lot of energy. There's a lot of movement. There's a lot going on that could feel really wild and like a really wild turn of events, a really kind of shocking change, and then it starts to put all of these different pieces in place. And that's the thing about July, man. July is some astrology for the ages.
Starting point is 00:17:21 All of the slow-moving planets line up in what we call, like, in modern astrology, a basket, which is honestly, like, in a lot of ways really positive. And it's all these really slow-moving planets, aka they take so long to come into relationship with one another, just two. And you've got like all of them lined up. And so it feels like a wild month, July feels like a lot is moving, a lot of shifting. It feels like a lot is getting connected to. Like we're connecting a lot of different pieces. There's a lot of support available. And let's just take it like one week at a time, because I got to break it all down because it's like big picture and then small little micro steps along the way. There's a gnarly full moon at the end of July, but we'll get to that later.
Starting point is 00:18:15 Or go listen to your monthly reading because I think that full moon at the end of July is going to feel like an eclipse. And then August is eclipse season. Anywho, we're in July by the end of this week and it looks wild. It looks wild. It looks wild. It looks wild. But there's a lot of room for us to make a lot of advancements. Again, how do we reorder our internal world, our local world, so that we can be part of reordering the larger world? AI is not inevitable. Data centers in our backyard are not inevitable. We fight like hell to make sure our health and well-being, and the planet's health and well-being is inevitable. that justice is inevitable. That is what we want to center as inevitable. All right. Now it's time for a
Starting point is 00:19:12 question from the audience. Hi, Chani. Thank you so much for everything you do and for creating these voice notes. It's so fun to send this. My question today, I was curious about migration and astrology. My parents came to the United States from the Caribbean many years ago, and my mom doesn't have an accurate birth certificate. So I'm curious if there's somewhere I can look in my chart that speak to like their journey and just having like immigrant parents or immigrant lineage. Thanks so much. Great question. And just to say like most of us have migrated somewhere. Most of us, unless you're indigenous to the place that you're living in, have had to flee or we're part of subtler colonialism or some kind of in between or a mix thereof. So most of us have, you know,
Starting point is 00:20:03 something in the chart that's going to tell us. And also if we're indigenous to the place that we are, we've also probably been moved around. And there's that story as well. So there's always a story of the family, the lineage in the chart. The first place I look is the fourth house. That is the place of home, family, foundation, lineage, parents, grandparents, ancestry, and our origins. You also want to look at the I-C. In whole-signed houses, traditional astrology, the I-C doesn't always have to be in the fourth house. So those are the two things I look at.
Starting point is 00:20:39 I want to look at any planets in the fourth house or around the I-C. I want to look at the signs of the fourth house and or the I-C and see what planets rule those places and then read about those planets, study. those planets. Planets in the fourth house and or by the IC are also going to tell us a really important tale of the family's journey, of the family's relationship to land, of the family's relationship to belonging, of your relationship to the family's relationship to belonging or not belonging, placement or displacement, location and dislocation, feeling safety, having to flee because it's not safe. All of these stories will be there. Then I also want to look at the
Starting point is 00:21:28 moon because the moon is our past, the body of the person that birthed us, the body of the person that birthed them, and on and on and on. It is our emotional memory. It is what gets passed down to us. Emotional baggage, emotional memory, emotional lineage, good, bad, all of it, connected, collected together. And so those are some places that I would start. Also in traditional astrology, a lot of times the father is the fourth house and the mother is the 10th house. You might want to look at the 10th house as well to look at her story or a story connected to the other parent there. And then, you know, because we don't all have one mom, one dad. like my daughter has two moms. And so there's like a way of looking at the chart where it's like
Starting point is 00:22:18 her birth mom will be the one we'd look to maybe the 10th house for and then me, her fourth house. You know, like we can look in different ways depending on the family's configuration. But definitely fourth house, definitely I see. You look at the 10th house for the birthing parent and see if that is a connection. And then some astrologers, you know, do it the opposite. They look at the mother as belonging to the fourth or the birthing parent as belonging to the fourth or the one who gives birth to us, whether or not we're considered them a parent as belonging to the fourth, some to the tenth. So we can kind of like play around with that and see what works. But definitely the I see because that's like the deepest, darkest part of the chart.
Starting point is 00:23:03 It's connected to our origin story. And then again, the moon. Start there. Read about the planets that, again, rule those parts of the chart. read about the moon and any planets in the fourth house are next to the I-C. We'll give you some indication of the tone, the tenor, the feeling, the story, the thing that you've been handed down in terms of emotional residue about the family journey. And then there's also reason to look at the 12th house in terms of inheritances, psychological and
Starting point is 00:23:42 otherwise. And also the eighth house, those are literal physical inheritances. And also there's, you know, like connection to, again, like what we receive from people that pass on. But start with the fourth, start with the IC, start with the moon, and then see where that gets you. See what kind of information. Like what are the planets? What do they represent? Uranus is disruption. Mars is a severing. Saturn is confronting a limit. imitation, a boundary, a block, a being locked out. Pluto is a death, rebirth. You know, there's different stories associated with each planet. So see which ones are lingering or which ones rule that part of the chart and see if that helps. All right, y'all, thank you for your questions.
Starting point is 00:24:31 Keep sending them in. You can record them on the Chani app. There's a little voice app note thing there where you can be like, hey, I want to know more about this. I want to know what you want to know. I can help you make the most of this glorious, gorgeous tool that only human to human can we learn. I do not believe that AI can teach us astrology. And if it can, it's only because it's stolen everything from human astrologers, like me and like all your other favorite astrologers, it just rips us all off, takes it all, hooveres it all up, and then gets delirious. about it and gets delusional about it and then gives you the wrong information. But astrology is an ancient art that is passed from person to person to person to person,
Starting point is 00:25:20 not from robot to person. Anyways, I love you. Thank you so much for joining. Thank you for being here. Thank you for downloading the Chani app and for telling people about it. Thank you for watching this little thing on YouTube, if that's where you are, or listening to it, wherever you get your podcasts. Next week, we have a Mercury Kazimi.
Starting point is 00:25:40 So some clarity. Come back. We'll talk all about how to make some magic with it amidst all the chaos. Bye for you.
