Astrology of the Week Ahead with Chani Nicholas - The Week of June 3rd, 2024: An energizing New Moon in Gemini — with many chatty neighbors
Episode Date: June 3, 2024Episode 181 In this podcast, New York Times bestselling author and astrologer Chani Nicholas discusses the astrology of the week and what it might mean for us all. The astrology of the week of June ...3rd, 2024, illuminates the bunny trails we are most excited to follow. On Monday, Mercury (the messenger planet) moves into its home sign of Gemini, signaling a flurry of curiosity, diversion, and conversation. It then goes on to trine Pluto (the planet of underworld journeys) and helps to unearth information buried deep below the surface. On Tuesday, Mercury conjoins Jupiter (the planet of plenty) in Gemini, calling us to revel in life’s little flashes of genius. Also on Tuesday, Venus (the planet of love) joins the Sun in Gemini for a cazimi, spotlighting the sweetness in our communications and fascinations. On Thursday, the New Moon in Gemini prompts us to both relish in our blessings and better integrate them into our lives. Then on Saturday, Venus forms a square to Saturn (the planet of boundaries), cautioning us to practice discernment in this moment of abundance. Also on Saturday, Mars (the planet of action) enters Taurus, slowing its pace and nudging us to go after our long-term goals. Finally, on Sunday, the Sun forms a square to Saturn, reminding us of the consequences of our choices and instructing us to reconcile our big ideas with what is actually useful. In all, this week is the perfect time to balance our bounty (and megadose of energy) with intentionality. This episode was recorded on 3/13/2024. Okay, I'm going to try to do an analogy.
You know that moment in the movie where, like, it's a big game and the kid gets the ball
finally and they're like running or whatever down the field thing and they're so close
to making the goal and then all of a sudden they get sideswiped by the other team?
Something like that.
That is what this week's new moon is like.
I'm telling you this could be the best new moon of the year,
except for that one thing that stops everything from happening.
In this podcast, we look at the astrology of the upcoming week
and how it will be landing for all of us collectively.

will play out for you, download the Chaniap.
Hello and welcome. This is the Astrology of the Week Ahead podcast, and I'm your host,
Chani Nicholas. That sounded like such a bummer and a downer. And I'm going to say this.
It's not not, but it isn't totally. You know what I mean? This week's new moon is happening
in Gemini. It's happening on the 6th of June on Thursday. And it's so good. It's so good for so many
reasons. So that is true. And then there is this thing that is like looming over it. That thing is
Saturn, obviously. This thing that's like looming over it and it's like you didn't do your homework and
you think you're going to get away with things and you think you're going to just sneak through
everything and you think that blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. There is this energy of like the critic that comes
in from on high. And
it's not for nothing. Like it's not just because life is mean and everything's against us. I mean,
sometimes it feels like that, but that's not obviously true. It's because there's something here that
needs to be tightened up. There's a decision to be made. And I think that that's what this new
moon is all about. There's so many options. There's so much to be curious about. There's so many
things flying through space. This is like the peakness of Gemini season. Maybe there's never been a more
Gemini season than this year. That's not true. But this year is one of those once in 12 year
situations where Jupiter is in Gemini. This week, Mercury rolls into Gemini on the third of June on
Monday. Mercury is a ruler of Gemini. So that means that like everything,
Gemini-ish just got turned all the way up, which means curiosity, which means diversion,
which means going in a million different directions all at once, which means getting distracted
times a million, which means conversations galore and not quite sure what the real truth will be,
but I'll give you an interesting story. It's about journalists, it's about journalism,
It's about seeking out the best questions to get the most interesting answers about than to ask different questions about.
It's just like this game of forever inquiring about what it is we want to know.
So there's a lot flying through the air.
It's an air sign.
It's a mutable sign.
It just disperses knowledge out into the world and keeps everything going.
It's a lot of mental energy.
Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, moves in to Gemini on Monday and immediately trines Pluto.
This is really phenomenal because it gives us access to information that's buried deep below the surface in a really easy way.
And we might even see headlines on Monday about something just like coming up for air, like literally, Gemini.
but it is like something that has been buried deep below has all of a sudden like a very seamless
way of escaping and coming up to the surface and getting broadcast.
It's a great day for deep conversations and it's a great day for getting down to the bottom of
things. It's a great day for doing research and getting those answers that you want to get
really easily. Then on the fourth, on Tuesday, Mercury makes a conjunction with Jupiter.
I don't know if you know anybody with Mercury Conjunct Jupiter or if you are somebody with Mercury Conjunct Jupiter.
But people with Mercury Conjunct Jupiter are high on their own supply.
People with Mercury Conjunct Jupiter are like, oh my God, I've got the best idea.
If you think I'm talking about you, go look at your chart.
Go see if you have Mercury Conjunct Jupiter because you probably do or opposing it or squaring it, maybe trining it.
But I feel like the conjunction is like this special sauce of getting thrills out of one's big ideas.
And it's not necessarily, depending on the sign, but it's not necessarily about following through with anything.
It's just about kind of getting gassed up on your own ideating on anything.
It doesn't even matter kind of what it is.
It's just like big light bulbs always going off.
And then we're kind of off to the races.
and then, especially in Gemini, we get distracted and we're like on to another thing.
But this is our minds alight with big, broad, expansive ideas.
I don't know if we'll ever get there.
Not the point.
It's just like the fun of conceiving, really, is Mercury Jupiter and in Gemini especially.
The thing about Jupiter and Gemini is it will overdo tidbits.
So you might never get to the point of the story.
If you think I'm talking about you, go check.
and see if you have Jupiter and Gemini. The end is not the point. The millions of distractions and all of the
little pieces, all of the little, you know, points of data are the point. And so we can get really
flooded with info. But again, it's going to be a fun time. Also on Tuesday, there's a Venus
Kazimi in Gemini, which means the sun and Venus come together at the same time that Mercury and
Jupiter are coming together. And Mercury rules all of this. So there is this quality
of something being fortified. And again, that something is relating, that something is
communicating, that something is being fascinated and curious and getting into the like little tiny
segments and situations that thrill us intellectually. So Tuesday is this day that looks
really auspicious. It's really, really, really beautiful. And then on Thursday, two days
later is the new moon and it's imbued with all of that it is marked with all of this sweetness and abundance
and this flourishing conversation and these flourishing relationships and this like easy breezy flirty kind of vibe
now what i didn't say is that all of that stuff that happens on tuesday all of that sweetness
all of that bounty all of that goodness all of those conversations all of those wild and really
fun distractions that's all being squared by saturn
And the new moon happens on the six.
It's again imbued with, it's got Venus sitting right there.
It's so beautiful.
But then on Saturday and Sunday, Venus first square Saturn and then the sun square Saturn.
So the beauty is there, but it is being overshadowed?
Maybe.
Maybe not.
Maybe it's not being overshadowed.
It's being clarified by Saturn.
And that's kind of what I want to go into.
to you here. I want to parse this out. Okay, great. Blessings abound. But what are we going to do with them?
What is our responsibility once we receive them? How have we learned to construct containers or
to create homes or to have systems so that when the bounty comes, when the blessings come, when the
relationships come, when the good stuff comes, we have somewhere for it to land, somewhere for it to settle into,
somewhere for it to explore in our lives and in ourselves.
I give a lot of astrology readings.
I have given many an astrology reading.
And this is one thing that I notice a lot.
It's not always true, but it's true a good amount of the time.
People with major signatures in their chart of ease and of blessings and of gifts
don't always know how to work with them.
Don't always know how to take them seriously.
Don't always know how to value them or to shepherd them into the world or to parent them or to, you know, create something with them.
Just because we have something gorgeous in our chart or just because something gorgeous is going on in the astrology in the moment doesn't mean that we have built the skills or the capacity.
to do the thing with them that will help them to actually become more grounded and ever
present in our life and feed more good things. So the most important thing for us to always remember
is that discipline and practice help us to once they come and we never know when they're going
to harness the gifts we are blessed with, harness the blessings that fall upon us.
us for no other reason than we're just lucky. This is not like a meritocracy. We don't like,
you know, earn points and, and have a good life. Like, obviously, you look around the world and
nothing has guaranteed anybody. And this is true for us. Any of our privileges or any of our
good fortune, like, okay, you could make a case for that something's in your chart, but
somebody with just as good of even better chart somewhere else in the world has to contend
with war and being ravaged by all the things, state sanctioned violence, et cetera.
So we want to look at these moments and say, okay, this is a blessing and it's a teaching
about how to take the blessings, how to take the gifts, how to take the offerings that come to
me seriously. Because what we don't want to do is dismiss things. And what we don't want to do is let
our own stuff get in the way of using what we've been gifted with. We don't want to let self-pity
get in the way of being of service and being of use in the world. And so I do think that this
Saturnian heftiness to this beautiful moment,
is saying, here's some good stuff. What are you going to do with it? I would like a plan. I would like
some homework. I would like a detailed, you know, outline of what this is going to be. So there's
these two things happening this week. There's the beauty and I want us to recognize the beauty
and there's the need to be discerning. And if that's what's what's,
Saturn is going to give us, then what a actual gift. The gift of discernment is everything.
And that's exactly what all of this Gemini energy needs, especially with Jupiter and Gemini.
And this is an ongoing saga throughout the rest of the year and into 2025, this Jupiter Saturn
Square that is happening. Jupiter and Gemini doesn't know the forest for the trees or the trees for
the forest. It's just like, again, flooded with a lot of data and is kind of consumed with
all of the little tiny pieces. Jupiter is the traditional ruler of Saj and Pysseus,
which is more of a oneness, right? Saj is moving towards an aim and Pisces is kind of encompassing
everything. But Gemini is about identifying each of the little tiny little segments of a
situation. So instead of going towards the ultimate truth, we can get waylaid by all of the different
stories that we've got to contend with. And so all year, this need for discernment and this need
to be able to say like, okay, here's all of the stuff. How do we whittle it down? How do we bring it
into some kind of shape. How do we bring it into some kind of useful point and end? There's got to be an
end to the story. We got to get on with things, Jupiter and Gemini. So that's the story with this new moon.
And, you know, Saturday and Sunday might give us a couple reality checks because that's the nature
of Saturn. It might curb us a little. So the beginning of the week starts out freewheeling and
fanciful and a lot of fun. Although again, there's this thing. It's like, oh, I've got invited to this
amazing party, but I've got this huge deadline that I've got to also attend to. That's the vibe of the
week. What are you going to choose? There's no judgment here, but there's consequences to everything.
Saturn reminds us of our consequences, of the consequences to our choices, better said.
And this is going to be one of those weeks.
There's going to be a lot of opportunity. There's going to be a lot of different ways to go.
There's going to be a lot of big ideas. But what is actually useful and what is your actual reality
and what can you actually say yes to? And what do you actually need to hone in and focus on?
The other thing is that Saturn is ruled by Jupiter and Jupiter is in Gemini. So it makes this all a little harder.
Saturn is a little less discerning now. So for us,
to take that piece on is, I think, really helpful.
Know what your goals are.
Know what you want to focus on.
If it doesn't fit into that, at this point in the year, don't feature it.
Try it out.
See what happens.
It's a lot about delayed gratification.
I want to thank you personally for leaving us reviews in the app store.
They make a massive difference just for our company in general.
And they also lift our spirits.
We send around an email every Friday with the latest app reviews that really just kind of like make our week and make all of the work we all as a team put in to the app.
So thank you, thank you, thank you.
I wanted to leave you with this one.
It's called Best Money I have ever accidentally spent.
Girl, this is the app.
Channy knows what she's talking about and it's wild.
I was using the free version of this app and got a taste of the premium version.
And I guess the stars aligned and I accidentally approved the purchase of a year membership.
Worth it.
I use the meditations multiple times a week and love all the information the app gives for the full year.
Pleased to say the next year, I bought the app on purpose.
The only other thing I didn't mention is that Mars moves into Doris on Saturday.
I wince because Mars will next Tuesday go on.
to square Pluto. And those are definitely going to be themes of deep underworld battles. So that's a
different note that's happening in the sky. And we won't really start to get into it or feel it
until the very end of this week. But definitely the beginning of next week. So come back and we will
talk about that then. Until then, I'm sending you a lot of new moon blessings. And I want you to know that the
gift of discernment is the best gift that this new moon can give you. And again, discernment might be
a little harder to come by than normal. So you've got to be able to rely on the part of you that is
the most skilled at editing and also work on developing it. I will too. All right. Bye for now.
