Starting point is 00:00:00 Three things about this week. It's going to get really messy. We're going to lose things. We're going to get things wrong. We're going to forget things. Starting point is 00:00:55 Get it all here. Enjoy. Pass it on to your friends or anyone you think. think might have some need for this kind of support right now. Hello and welcome. This is the astrology of the week ahead. I'm your host, your Astro Bestie in these eclipsing times. My name is Channie Nicholas. Hi. Thank you for being here. Welcome, welcome, welcome. Come in, sit down, get a snack, get a drink. We have the second of the two eclipses of eclipse season happening. this week right away, right at the top of the week on Tuesday, we have a lunar eclipse in
Starting point is 00:01:36 Virgo. A couple things as we move towards that eclipse. One is that on Monday, Venus, one of the most helpful planets in our solar system, in our little astrological paradigm, Venus, the planet of love and relationship and beauty and art and justice is currently in Pisces and it reaches what we call its exaltation degree. What does that mean? Well, it means that it's at the pinnacle of the pinnacle of its brightest shining, most useful, glorious moment. That's why every single degree of the zodiac matters. Because you never know when the planet is going to connect to their exalted degree. I mean, you do know, but it's not, you know, there's stuff about the sky that's very messy, but there are these things that astrologers have worked with for thousands of years that are very specific to the exact degree of where every planet could be, at least the traditional planets.
Starting point is 00:02:42 Okay. So on Monday, Venus gets to its exalted degree. That means that justice might be a little bit more attainable. It means that delight might be a little bit more attainable, beauty, relationship, connection. I've said this for weeks now. I'll probably say it every single moment of my recording life. But the thing that will save us, as the skies are telling us, the things that will save us right now are our relationships to each other. The thing that saves us right now, the glorious good in the sky. And I'm telling you, it's leaving this week. One of them is leaving this week on Friday. Venus will leave its exaltation, sign, and degree. on Friday, it'll move into Ares where it is ousted, where it is in its exile. So things will change by Friday for sure. But in the beginning of the week, we know that the beneficial astrological omens are saying, connect with one another. Extend yourself out in a compassionate way to one another. You are your neighbor. Your neighbor is you. And also make art. Make art. Make art. glorious make art that makes your movement so attractive and so alluring and so delightful to be a part of that people want to come and take part in whatever it is you're doing.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Be the honey that the bees are attracted to. I don't know if that's saying really works because bees make honey. Anyways, you know what I'm saying. Venus is at its exaltation mark on Monday. And you know what really pisses me off when there's excellent astrology right next. to really difficult astrology. So Venus at its gorgeous, most beautiful point on Monday, Mars then moves into Pisces. Okay, fine. Mars is in Pisces. And it's sitting opposite of this eclipse. So we have gorgeous Venusian exaltation degree. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Love it, love it, love it, love it. Joy, joy, joy, happy, happy, happy, relationships, love, beauty, pleasure. And then Tuesday we have a lunar eclipse in Virgo near the south node. Very important distinction.
Starting point is 00:05:08 An eclipse in Virgo is always going to focus on the details and the data and the exact words and the exact phrase and the exact ways in which we need to line everything up. When it is a south node eclipse in Virgo, like this one, there is a loss of that thing. And so, you know, There is a loss of data. There is a loss of details. There is a loss of words. There is a loss of correct information. Something needs to go. What I have been encouraging us to meditate on is that we need to let go of perfectionism. Venus is at its exaltation degree on Monday saying, you can be right or you could be connected to people. You could be right or you could enjoy yourself. It's the question. Like sometimes we need to be like, no, this is correct and this is not. But do I personally need to be
Starting point is 00:06:07 right or is being right and needing to have everyone do everything perfectly around me helping me? Is it building solidarity? Is it building a movement that is attractive to all? Or is it distancing me? Is it isolating me? Is it making me dehumanize others and dehumanize myself? Venus at its exaltation degree on Monday is saying, what kind of relationships do you want to build? Because this is what we can do right now. It's fleeting. It's a fleeting moment. It's gorgeous. And then on Tuesday, the lunar eclipse in Virgo is saying, look, we're losing. a lot of things that we need. We're losing reason. We're losing a shared reality. We're losing any kind of helpful journalism or we've lost it or we're losing the reality, right? We're losing
Starting point is 00:07:08 something that we actually really need. And so what do we need to let go of in order to regain the things that we need to recall from the dark dungeons of the dictators that want to steal the facts and data from us so that we don't know who we are. We don't know what our rights are and we don't know what a constitution is and we don't know that we are actually all connected. The lunar eclipse in Virgo is our invitation to focus less on perfection and more on how to serve this moment. Less on perfection and more how to show up as someone who can work with what there is right now. Less on perfection. and more on connection.
Starting point is 00:07:56 That's my suggestion. Because not only is there a lunar eclipse near the south node in Virgo, but the ruler of this eclipse is Mercury. And Mercury is in its detriment and its fall. And it's also retrograde. Doesn't that sound like a not a good situation, even if you don't know what I'm talking about? It's in a place where it struggles the most.
Starting point is 00:08:20 It's in a sign where it struggles the most to have facts. and data correctly ordered and aligned. It's like a scrambled sentence. It can be poetic and gorgeous, but it doesn't actually tell me when to turn left and how far to go down that road. But it tells me about the sunset and the smell of the flowers. And it's like, oh, that's amazing. But it's actually no, the information I need right now. So it's in that sign. And then it's also retrograde. Mercury's retrograde a lot of the time. So it's not an out of the ordinary thing. But when we, need it online, we want it to be functioning. And right now it's in the sign and at the speed at which it slows things down and it makes everyday data, information, conversations and
Starting point is 00:09:08 communications more challenging. But we're already getting that from the South Node Eclipse in Virgo. So it's a doubling up of that. So what do we do? When communications are a muck and they are threatening our ability to get from A to B and do the things we need to do. We have to ask for help. We have to check our sources. We have to be like, did you see the thing? Did I do that okay? Can I ask your advice? I need to source some accurate information. Sometimes I am so moved by people online that I've followed for a long time that get online and say, I actually don't know what to say about this. This thing is happening halfway around the world and I'm very concerned about it and I actually can't find any good source of information around it. I don't know what to say.
Starting point is 00:10:04 I don't know what the right thing to do is because we all feel this pressure to be perfect and to know what to say and when to say it and with great speed and great conviction. I fall into that trap. night and day, let me tell you, especially because I'm reading time all the time. And it's such a good reminder when I see someone model that and demonstrate that just to say, hey, I care. I also don't know what the right thing to do right now is. I think modeling that kind of approach when necessary right now is going to be very, very helpful. and it's going to remind us all that we don't know, right?
Starting point is 00:10:48 We're in eclipse season. We're in this moment in history where things are moving really fast. And we don't know. We don't know where we're going. We don't know what it all means. We have to get really low to the ground and be like, what am I hearing? What is the vibration? What is the thing that's moving and how can I move with it?
Starting point is 00:11:10 but we're not going to know the exact answers of how to do it or where to go. And we're going to have to piece everything together as we go, right? This is nothing new. We know this. Saturn and Neptune have already made their conjunction. We already went through the eclipse in Aquarius. I'm recording this in January. I have no idea what's happening come the beginning of March.
Starting point is 00:11:34 I just know that February up until this point, up until these first couple of days of March are so consequential. So everything that has transpired in February and in these first couple of days of March are key, key to understanding like, okay, what reality are we in now? Because eclipse season speed things up. They're like quantum leaps. And so again, we want to be low to the ground. We don't want to be, you know, flying around up there, spun out on our doom scrolling and on information that is incorrect and all of the chatter and all of the energy that's really just zooming around. We need to stay low to the ground, stay as grounded as possible, and just think, how can I be most effective in this moment? What would be the greatest service
Starting point is 00:12:30 I could offer just this moment, not forever and not, you know, for the whole year or my whole let just this moment. How can I be? What's the, what's, what does this moment need from me? And what do I have to offer it? And where's the Venn diagram of that? Where's the intersection of that? And that's what I've got. And then I do it again and again and again. Because if Virgo teaches us something, it teaches us how to work hard, work in a way where we deeply honor the craft of what we're doing, the skill of how we do it and developing those skills. and then being of service with those skills. That's the whole point.
Starting point is 00:13:12 How can I work in a way that's going to better the situation? Help it run. Help it be effective. Generally, that's not me being right all the time. And if I am right and you're wrong, is it necessary for me to say it right now? Maybe. I don't know, but oftentimes it's not. or when things are really, really strung out and amped up, maybe it's not the time.
Starting point is 00:13:44 But to be of service to the moment and be like, what is this moment calling for from me? And how can I just offer it freely and then see what that brings about? So that's Tuesday. Wednesday, we've got help. Venus makes a sex style to Uranus. It's not massive astrology, but on its way out of Pisces. Thank you for being there through eclipse season. It's saying, like, let's experiment with how we connect with one another.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Let's experiment with how we show up for one another. Let's take a risk and say like, hey, I'm here. Do you need anything? And also, like, get creative with how you enjoy life and remember to dance and to connect on that level, too. Connect with your creativity. On Thursday, the sun makes a trine to Jupiter. Now, this is really nice, and this is embedded in the eclipse. So there is help.
Starting point is 00:14:39 There is loss that we have to deal with. There is collapse of systems of information that we are dealing with right now. I'm pretty sure, just from the look of things. And there's also help. And the help is about care, because it's a train from Jupiter. Jupiter right now is in cancer. And cancer is like, feed people, nourish them. Feed yourself.
Starting point is 00:14:58 Nourish yourself. Take care. Little babies. What's the part of you and your neighbors that you need to care for? That you need to be like, here's some water, have some hydration. Here's some nourishment. Here's some energy that is about me just stopping to care about how you are and how I am and how we're doing. That's what builds confidence right now. And then on Friday, Venus enters Aries. And it speeds me things up. There's a lot of fire and air in the skies this year. It's not all there yet. We're moving ever more towards it. By the time we get to late June, July, it's going to be all out. And a lot of
Starting point is 00:15:46 fire and air is really exciting, but it's not grounded. So we have to practice being the ground for the very wild days that we are in and just how fast things move. When everything's fire and air when there's a lot in fire and air, things move fast. It's like there's a fire and then there's wind and then all of a sudden the fire's everywhere. And so we want to learn how to contain, right? Contain things, a slow controlled burn instead of a wildfire kind of feeling. On Saturday we get some clarity. On Saturday, there's a Mercury Kazimi, the Sun and Mercury meet up and it gives us a moment of like, oh, I didn't understand you before. I didn't see that. I didn't I didn't hear it. I didn't know that on Saturday we get an aha moment. And so as the confusion is
Starting point is 00:16:39 like swirling around us all week, we know that on Saturday we're going to get some kind of answer. And that answer is going to act like a little life raft for the rest of the Mercury retrograde. And then Mercury is also going to go on to Trine Jupiter. And so there's good news with that clarity or that clarity helps us to open up to an understanding that we didn't quite get before. It's going to help to expand our horizons and our awareness. That happens specifically on Sunday. Also from Saturday to Sunday, we've got Venus, newly and Aries, bumping into Neptune on Saturday, and Saturn on Sunday.
Starting point is 00:17:20 That will bring clarity. It'll bring a little confusion and then a little clarity or a lot of clarity. We're going to want to be swept up by some sort of great creative impulse and watch some rom-coms on Saturday. Great idea. Great way to spend the day. Art, films, anything that helps you to have a meaningful and purposeful escape. We all need a little escape.
Starting point is 00:17:47 It's a take-me-away Calgon kind of moment. And then on Sunday, as Venus makes that conjunction to Saturn, we get a little like, oh, But this is the reality. Maybe I overindulged yesterday and now I'm paying the price. But and also Mercury makes that trine to Jupiter. So we do end the week on some good news. We do. We do. It's a rocking, rolling roller coaster of a week because it is an eclipse week. And it's not just any eclipse. It is a full moon eclipse. It is a lunar eclipse. It is big. What we need to do is to remember it's not about being perfect. It's not about wanting other people to be perfect or do life perfectly or do their activism or they're organizing perfectly or their art perfectly or their parenting
Starting point is 00:18:35 perfectly or anything perfectly because we can't do it perfectly. No one can. It's a setup. It's a pyramid scheme. It's on purpose. We can't spend our life policing each other and wanting everything to be exactly as we think it should be if we want liberation, if we want to move, if we want to create the world anew, we can't demand perfection from ourselves or each other. We can demand accountability. That's different. We can grow. We can allow ourselves to mess up and learn and be accountable and try it again. We can move through those cycles, but we can't We can't be perfect. We can't.
Starting point is 00:19:24 It's a lie. And I don't even think Virgo wants perfection. I'm going to say that and I can hear the audience gasp. I mean, Virgo wants things to work in the most exquisite and elegant way. And maybe you call that perfection, but I just call it efficiency. Efficiency is elegant and that is Virgo. Virgo understands the efficiency of nature. Nothing is wasted. Isn't that a relief just to think about? Think about a system where nothing is wasted. There's no gluttony. There's no waste. Everything has a purpose. Everything is put to use. Everything is composted and repurposed. Everything has a place. And there's a place for everything and everyone.
Starting point is 00:20:20 And that is the organization that Virgo deeply desires and that I hope we allow ourselves to kind of marinate in because this is a South Node Eclipse and so we need to let go of stuff. We need to let go of our expectations of being perfect. Also cleaning out the clutter is a really good idea on South Node Eclipse. I will just say, stay grounded, stay service oriented. Think about what you can offer the moment, what you have, what you can offer what would be most effective, what would be most grounding, and see what happens. But just know that, you know, by this time, things are very different than they were in January,
Starting point is 00:21:03 right? I'm recording in January. So I'm just imagining coming to the end of this first week of March and being like, what is my life going to be like at that point? I don't know. I don't know. we're going to say goodbye to some things. We're going to say hello to other things. We also need to be skilled at grieving. We need to be skilled at working with loss and understanding what collapses and what remains and what grows and what needs to decompose. Like we need to just grapple with all those feelings. And during eclipse season, we do because it's a shadowy time, the shadow rears its head. The shadow reveals itself. The shadow is like, hey, I'm part of you. This is the part that you need to reckon with. So whatever it is that you're loosening your grip around,
Starting point is 00:21:57 whatever it is that you're grieving, whatever it is that you are fully accepting has gone now is is how you spend the eclipse. It's part of the eclipse process. We're in this great, you know, moment of change. And the area of your life that contains Virgo, the area of your chart that contains Virgo and the part of your life that it represents is going to be massively impacted. So go listen to your reading for the week. Go listen to your reading for the month of March. I talk a great deal in both places about it. Hopefully I say something a little different in each one, but you never know. But you need to look into. to you, where is this happening? What am I supposed to be cleansing? What am I supposed to be doing a
Starting point is 00:22:47 ritual around? And I'm not saying you do rituals on eclipses, but the eclipse itself is a ritual. And the ritual is I'm letting it go. I'm releasing my expectations about this being perfect or a certain way. And I'm going to tell you, I talk and talk and talk and talk about all of this stuff. And I still have to do all of it. I am right there with you. I'm not like an expert at being a human through eclipse season. I'm going to have to be remembering all the things that I blab on and on and on and on and on about. So I'm never trying to say like, I've got it all figured out and you guys need to learn how to do this.
Starting point is 00:23:27 I'm talking to myself. Really, literally, I'm in a room with nobody else in it. I'm literally talking to myself. But I really am talking to myself in regards to how we move through this moment. because I'll forget and I'll kick and scream and be like, why is it like this, though? Then I have to remember because it is just like it is. It is. It is.
Starting point is 00:23:49 It is. Hold space for the feeling and let it move through you. Okay. Now it's time for a question from our audience. Thank you so much for leaving us your recordings in the Chiani app. You can do that. Please leave us your questions via a recording in the app. Hi, Johnny.
Starting point is 00:24:06 I have a question about elements in regards to your planets and your chart. So for instance, my chart is primarily all air and fire. I only have two earth signs, my Virgo Rising and Neptune and Capricorn. And I have one water sign, Pluto and Scorpio. Everything else is air and fire. And so I'm very curious about the elements and planets and like how that could also be represented in a person and within the astrology, any advice about the elements would be great. Thanks. Great question. It's really important when you just have one of something. Like you said you had Neptune and Capricoran, which is like,
Starting point is 00:24:49 okay, you do. That is a planet in an Earth sign, but it's a transpersonal planet. It's not a personal planet. But if you have a Virgo rising, that becomes everything. That becomes the personal point at which you express the element of Earth, being practical, being grounded, being, you know, work-oriented, being pragmatic, all of that, being able to, like, put things in their place and make things work. I don't know if you have, like, a node in a, in a water sign, perhaps, but you, I think you mentioned Pluto and Scorpio. Yes, again, it is a planet. It's a transpersonal planet. So it counts, but it's really more generational than personal. So that means that there is an emphasis on ideas, air, on communication air, and on creativity, fire, and
Starting point is 00:25:45 excitement, fire. And air and fire love each other, right? I was just talking about that in this episode. Air and fire love each other because they wind each other up. And it's very exciting. It's very effervescent. It's bubbly. it's steamy. It's like, you know, it's got like big, big, big, big fire energy because the wind
Starting point is 00:26:07 comes through and, you know, makes the fire just go wild. And so it's ungrounded. And it is not necessarily good at maintaining like connections and bonds. I'm not saying you're not good at being in relationships. But what I'm saying is that we need wetness. We need like a, a, something that helps us to create a stickiness, a wetness, to help things be cohesive and, and like connect, right? If you just think elementally, if everything's fire and air, it's great. It's exciting. It's beautiful.
Starting point is 00:26:45 It's alluring. It's, again, creative. It's inspired. It's action-oriented. It's like, go, go, go, go, go. And we love that in our very extroverted youth-obsessed kind of culture, so that, you know, it does really well in this paradigm that we live in. And the earth, you know, it grounds us. It slows us down. It reminds us how to appreciate what is here and just like being in the body. And water helps us to connect. It helps us to share things with one another. Share our feeling. Share our self. It helps us to emote. It helps us to build bonds. And so when you don't have any of an element, like,
Starting point is 00:27:31 I actually don't have any personal planet in air. And all I do is communicate. So it's not like I'm bad at communicating, but I'm not great at being fully logical. I'm not great at having perspective sometimes. I got a lot of the other elements and a lot of that fire, water stuff can be really feeling. I can get really swept away with my feelings. And I got a lot of Earth and so I can get, you know, really like heavy. And so I don't have a lot of the air that helps me gain perspective.
Starting point is 00:28:09 I have a very strong mercury, though. And my very strong mercury helps me do this work. So I also, like the elements are one thing. And then we also have to understand the conditions of the planets. Because if you have a really strong moon, of course, the moon is strongest in an earth or a water sign. But if you have a really well-placed moon, people are going to feel really. reflected by you. Like there's, and if you have a really well-placed Venus, like if you have Venus and Libre or something, that's going to, you know, go out and make up a jillion friends way more than me.
Starting point is 00:28:42 Like, that's going to be very socially connected. So it all depends on there's, the elements are one thing. There's a lack of water. So things can get dry and hot. And there's a lack of earth. so things can get like can can get a little too heated get you know like there's there's moisture with air and there's there's heat with fire obviously so we just want to think about where you might be lacking and it's not like you don't feel and it's not like you can't manifest things or you can't be grounded but you might immediately go to inspiration and you might immediately go to your ideas and you might immediately go up into your head and up into your creative energy and get really excited and forget maybe about the body or forget maybe about how to be
Starting point is 00:29:33 in a more kind of grounded slower stance. And again, it depends on where all the other stuff is in your chart and what else is really prominent. I have to really look at where the planets are, like what houses they're in and how they're placed and how they're talking to each other. Because even having a Virgo rising, it's Earth, so it's really good. It helps you a lot. It helps you be really practical and hardworking. But it is a plan, it is a sign that's ruled by Mercury. And Mercury is about communication. So even there, it's like it is mentally focused in a way.
Starting point is 00:30:06 It wants to be practical with its application of what it knows, but it's still pretty chatty and intellectual. All right, y'all, I hope that was helpful. Please keep sending in your questions. Look, next week is not as action-packed. Mars and Pisces will be connecting to the north nose. So there is like this little reverberation of eclipse season. And the Mars of it all will be a little amped up, which, you know, is always like a little bit of a red flag. But we are going to work on digesting and reflecting upon what has just happened and laying a little groundwork for what is coming next. But I just want us to know.
Starting point is 00:30:47 No, we got through eclipse season. If you're listening to this at the end of the week, I don't want to speak too soon. But if we're at the end of the week, we've got through eclipse season. And it is time to integrate all that was unpacked and revealed and is now present in our conscious awareness. Because that's what happens. What is unconscious becomes conscious during eclipse season. And we're like, hey, didn't know. Now I do.
Starting point is 00:31:14 Okay. Great. Sending you lots of love. Many, many blessings. Bye for now.
