Astrology of the Week Ahead with Chani Nicholas - The Week of May 13th, 2024: Double-cazimi magic and a planetary pileup in Taurus
Episode Date: May 13, 2024Episode 178 In this podcast, New York Times bestselling author and astrologer Chani Nicholas discusses the astrology of the week and what it might mean for us all. The astrology of the week of May 13t...h, 2024, is lively, lucky, and largely concentrated in Taurus. On Monday, there is a Uranus cazimi (aka conjunction between the Sun and the planet of disruption) in the sign of the bull, which makes it an excellent moment to take stock of our abundance and channel it into upgrading and dismantling outmoded systems. Later that day, Venus (the planet of love) sextiles Saturn (the planet of boundaries) in the same sign, bringing longevity and structure to our innovations. On Wednesday, Mercury (the planet of communication) also moves into the fixed earth sign and goes on to square Pluto (the planet of transformation) on Friday, unearthing hidden truths through deep conversations. On Saturday, Venus conjoins Uranus, encouraging us to seek fresh modes of pleasure and connection. Then there’s another cazimi in Taurus, between the Sun and Jupiter (the planet of expansion), which heralds new opportunities, wisdom, and growth. Finally, on Sunday, Mars (the warrior planet) amps up our energy levels as it joins the North Node in Aries. It’s a lot. But it’s a great time to revel in the strength and beauty that Taurus is known for. This episode was recorded on 03/13/2024. Hello and welcome. This is the Astrology of the Week Ahead podcast. I'm your host,
Channey Nicholas. And in this week's episode, we are talking about the week of May 13th.
In this podcast, we look at the astrology of the upcoming week and how it will be landing for all of us collectively.
For a more personalized reading that dives into the ways that this week's astrology will play out for you, download the Chaniup.
This week is lively and also lucky.
There are two really important things that are occurring this week.
I need you to pay attention.
On Monday the 13th of May, we are having a Uranus Kazimi.
It means the sun and Uranus are coming together to make a conjunction.
It means that something that is associated with Uranus, which is freedom, which is a little upheaval,
which is definitely about invention and upgrading our systems is going to be fortified by the light
and the heat and the warmth and the life-giving force of the sun. And the same thing happens
a couple of days later. On May 18th, Jupiter and the sun come together. This is a very lucky
combination. This is a really good signature for opportunities, also for optimism, for expansion.
for wisdom, for being able to be generous and to mark our life with a kind of generosity and generativity.
So, big week, it's all happening in Taurus, the part of your chart that contains Taurus, check the Chani app, check your weekly reading, is getting this big infusion.
Now, last week we had a new moon in Taurus.
Venus is in Taurus. And also this week, Mercury is moving into Taurus. So it's just like a packed
little house right now. And it's going to end this week, or a lot of it is going to shift next week.
So this is the last week for us to make magic in the part of our chart, again, that contains
Taurus. So it's really important that you go listen to your reading. Or you could read your
horoscope for Jupiter and Taurus. You could read your horoscope for Uranus. You could read your horoscope for
Uranus and Torres. You could read your horoscope for Venus and Taurus. And as of Wednesday the 15th,
when Mercury moves into Taurus, you could also read your horoscope for Mercury and Taurus on either
chani.com or on the Chani app under the current sky section of the app. Okay, because all that will
give you like a little hint and a little nod and a little wink and a little like understanding
of why that part of your life is so important.
Now, one of the things to say is that Jupiter's leaving Taurus next week. It's bye-bye, gone,
not to come back here for another 12-ish years. So the fact that it's making a Kazimi now is really
essential. And next week, it makes a conjunction with Venus, which is so, so sweet and so-so-good.
So you'll hear me talking last week, this week, and next week about things that you're beginning
in this part of your chart in your weekly reading.
And also on this podcast, you'll hear me talking about these moments that keep happening in the
same part of our chart.
And when you listen to something, you know, and it gets reiterated three times within a month,
you're like, oh my God, why does you keep talking about this?
But I'm talking about it because it's a fleeting moment.
Now, if we're starting things in Taurus, if we're beginning something,
if we're dropping a seed in the very fertile ground of this Earth Sun,
then we want it to be enduring and long-lasting. This is not something that we want to rush through. This is not something we will expect immediate results from. These are seeds that we're planting that are about our sturdiness, our steadfastness, and our ability to plod along a certain path while paying attention to the signs and the signals that we see that something is growing.
or at least at the beginning, while being very steeped in our faith that things are happening
underground that we can't necessarily see or know right now, but we trust the process.
If tourists can teach us anything besides enjoying really great naps and snacks,
it's that we want to trust the process and we want to move at the pace of the natural world,
whatever that is.
Sometimes it's fast, sometimes it's slow, but it is about trust.
trusting the pace of what is naturally occurring. Okay, Monday is really good for doing something
differently. I want us to think about our resources, what we've got at hand already, not what we need
to go out and get, not what we need to buy, not what we need to put on ourselves. It's about the
resources we inherently have and that are already at our disposal. How can we use those
resources in a different, more innovative, more unique type of way. How can we feel or attain a little
bit more freedom given what we've already got to work with? Capitalism will teach us that we need
to go buy something else, that we need to get more of, that we need different of, that we need, need, need, need, need, need.
Nature teaches us that we have, that we're good, that we could just like pause for a minute and enjoy what we've
got. And if we're going to innovate or if we're going to work in a way that is a little bit of a
systems upgrade with whatever we've got, I want us to think along the lines of, I don't need
anything that I don't already have. I want to have a mind frame that says, I'm so abundant right now
in talent and time, hopefully, and in connection. I'm so abundant already in. I'm so abundant already in
community and friendship. I'm so abundant already in heart and in soul and in desire to bring good
into the world. I'm so abundant already. How can I from this place move with greater elegance or
eloquence? How can I upgrade the ways in which I'm working with the resources I've already got
so that there is a seamlessness to it, so that there is an intelligence to it, so that it is
like there's a plan here. I'm not wasting anything. I'm not taking anything for granted,
and I'm working with everything that I've got. Also on Monday, Venus makes a little sex style
with Saturn, which is very cute and very helpful, and it also signals that there's something
here that is sturdying. This is why. Venus is in Taurus.
Uranus is in Taurus, the Sun is in Taurus, Jupiter is in Taurus. On Wednesday, Mercury will move into Taurus.
And because Venus is in charge of everything in Taurus, and it's making a sexile a very helpful aspect to Saturn, which is a grounding, boundaryed kind of signature.
It means that even though there's upheaval and even though there's change and there's innovation, it's being done in a thoughtful and thorough kind of way.
or there's a type of grounding to it.
Or whatever innovations you're thinking of doing, whatever changes you know you're in need of making,
do them slowly and thoroughly.
There is no need to rush.
If things go quickly naturally, great.
But we don't need to push anything here.
We're going to allow things to unfold.
And we're going to be awakened to the changes and the revelations and the knowledge of how
we need to do something differently, how we need to break from tradition and work with the resources
that we've got in ways that feel exciting and spark new ways to work creatively. Wednesday,
Mercury moves in to Taurus immediately makes us square with Pluto. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday,
when Mercury makes the official square to Pluto, we're going to be in some very deep conversations.
We're probably going to be in some deep conversations about what we're changing, about the freedom that we're needing, and about the ways in which we want to work with what we've got.
It's just going to be another week where the midsection of the week is going to bring us into conversations that are unearthing truths that we didn't know we needed to hear, but here we are.
So very therapeutic in terms of what it is we're talking about, who it is we're talking to,
or maybe who we need to go process what we've just learned with.
On the 18th, this is the big day, one of the big days of 2024, I think.
We've got Venus making a conjunction to Uranus.
So in one way, this is about seeking pleasure in a different way.
about being freer with the ways in which we want to connect with others.
It's about being freer within the ways we seek things that are beautiful and pleasurable.
And it's about experimenting with the style of something or experimenting with the ways we engage.
It's also a day that could bring up on a global kind of scale issues that impact women, especially, LGBTQIA, queer community especially.
and anything to do with the arts and artists.
Because this is loud astrology in a lot of ways because it's a Venus-conjunct Uranus.
This is something that might be breaking through onto the scene or into the headlines.
And crossing my fingers that it's something that is prosperous and helpful and good
because at the same time, Jupiter is making its conjunction with the sun.
We call it a Kazimi.
And it is a mark of something auspicious.
It is a mark of optimism, abundance, wisdom, and expansion being fortified.
So the 18th is a breakthrough day.
It's a little unstable because of that Venus-Urinus conjunction.
But the breakthrough, again, Venus is ruling everything that's happening in Taurus.
The breakthrough seems to be leading to something good or the thing that we're planting,
the seed that we're planting for greater abundance is also,
connected to some kind of awakening or breakthrough or truth-telling or the change that is necessary
now. This week talks a lot about change and opportunity. And we're not going to get to the growth
that we need to get to unless we're willing to change, unless we're willing to be broken open,
unless we're willing to free ourselves from the tyranny of comfort and likability. And we need to
to be radically honest with who we are and what we want and what we value. If the 18th is about
anything, it's about being radically honest about what we value, how to center it in all of our
relationships, and then the prosperity and the abundance and the generosity that comes from doing so.
We don't want to be in fake relationships. At least I don't want to be in fake relationships.
I want to be in relationships that center what I value so that I attract the people.
people that value the same things and we can move with greater efficiency and a greater sense of
abundance towards creating a more fair and just and far less harmful world. Ultimately, that is what
I'm always talking about here and everywhere else. But I do think that this week's astrology
is resonating with that. What do we need to do differently? What do we need to break from in terms of
tradition and how does doing so lead us into a greater sense of what is possible for not only
us but our entire world. And then on Sunday, this will happen as the next edition of this podcast
comes out. But on Sunday, I just want to mention Mars and the North Node are coming together in
Ares. And it is pretty high octane astrology. It does send out a red flag for me because Mars,
is so hype in Ares, it's in its own sign. And because the North Node amplifies whatever
touches it, it's an amplification of courage, energy, but maybe also an aggressive type of
quality in something. So I just want us to couch whatever happens this weekend with some of
this patience and slow growth that I'm talking about.
For a lot of you, you're probably going to find that Sunday, for some reason, you've got extra
energy to burn. So channel it in a way that feels productive and feels like it's getting
your endorphins going and that it feels like you're engaged with activity that is really
helpful to your entire system.

Thank you, Chani and team.
All right, y'all.
Next week, we have the Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Taurus.
Right before Venus and Jupiter move into Gemini.
We also have Gemini season.
The sun is moving into Gemini on Monday the 20th.
So huge shift.
This is the last moment of such a concentration in Taurus.
As of next week, there's going to be a lot of commotion.
there's going to be a lot of information. There's going to be a lot of lively conversations.
So work with this slow, steady energy this week or work in a slow, steady way this week.
And next week, we have that really special rare Venus, Jupiter conjunction and Taurus right before
everything shifts. And we also have a full moon in Sagittarius. So it's a wild week next week. A lot
is going on. Come back. We'll talk all about it. We'll talk about how we can work with that Venus, Jupiter,
gorgeous signature, the full moon, all the chaos of Gemini season. Jupiter moving into Gemini
and Venus, it's a lot. It's going to be, there's going to be distractions to say the least.
I'm sending you lots of love, many, many, many blessings. I hope you make the most of these
Kazimis and then some. Bye for now.
