Three things about this week.
Thing one, you are going to take action to go do something really fun.
Thing two, you are going to have a conversation that is exceptionally disruptive or revealing.
You are going to be searching for the truth.
And you're going to want to be free enough to talk about it.
Thing three, you are beginning an entirely new chapter in your life.
Hello and welcome. This is the astrology of the week ahead podcast. I am your host and your astro bestie
hopeful, Channy Nicholas. And in this episode, we are talking about the astrology for the week of May
19th. And do I regret to tell you that we are in another game-changing 2025 week? I don't know if I
regret it. You know, we'll see. But here we are. This is where we are. The
This is what we're doing.
We are doing Saturn moving into Aries this week.
It is massive.
Not since the mid to late 90s has Saturn been in Aries.
And a lot of you are saying, I was born then.
And yes, welcome.
This is also going to be the beginning of your Saturn return if you have Saturn
and Ares.
More on that later.
For all of us, we are going to be experiencing a transit that we haven't experienced
in about three decades, which is a big deal.
Because three decades ago, I was alive very much, but I was a very, very, very different person.
For the rest of us, this is a transit that we will be going through for the next three years.
There'll be a little bit of a stopgap in between Saturn moving from Pisces into Ares and then Aries back into Pisces and then Pisces back into Ares.
but this is the opening chapter this week brings us that. And it's big. It's massive because
Neptune also just moved in to Aries at the end of March. So this is going to be,
especially the next three months, we're talking like the last couple of days of May,
but June, July, and August, those are the three months of the year that Saturn will be in
Aries with Neptune. And those are going to be the game-changing months in terms of the part of your
chart that contains Aries. And collectively, it's a game-changing period of time for us because
the Aries is, we could say, exacerbated. Which if we're going to talk about Aries being
kind of like up-leveled, then we're going to talk about us needing a lot of courage or a lot of courage
being stirred up. It's going to be about taking a lot of action. It's going to be full of
impatience, full of friction, full of emergence. Aries is in the northern hemisphere a time,
aries season is a time when the sun enters the spring equinox. The sun gives us the spring
equinox that aligns of zero degrees of tropical Aries. And that means that life is pushing through
the frozen Earth.
Think of a crocus pushing through the frozen earth.
Hey, I just need to interrupt programming for one second to say, thank you.
Listen, we launched the breakthrough course 28 days ago,
and the response from you has been absolutely overwhelming.
I am so grateful for all of the emails and the DMs
and even the in real life, IRL exchanges that I've had with so many of you,
about the ways in which this course has impacted you.
And I've met people at the beginning of the course.
I've heard from people in the middle of the course.
I've heard from people at the end of the course.
And the results are honestly just mind-blowing and beyond anything I could have hoped for
or dreamt for.
And to be honest, when I put the course out, I was nervous.
I was nervous for a lot of different reasons.
I was nervous because this is something that is like really personal for me.
it's not something that helps me to hide behind the astrology. I have to be really like,
I had to be really like open and honest and vulnerable about what kind of practices I do.
And to guide everyone through a 28 day journey, I was like, I hope this works. I hope it works for you.
It works for me. This is the way that I, you know, try to help myself through some of the places where I've gotten the most stuck and have had the hardest time in my life.
And so I wanted to offer this gift to you. I was really nervous and it was really worth it. It's really
worth it to do things that are scary and to just try, to try new things. And that's what this
course is really about. It's about helping you to move the stuck energy in your life in a new way or to
try a new thing to help you move through the places that you're stuck, move through the obstacles that
you're facing because I know you can because I know I can. And I know that we just need each other
to help each other through these tough spots. And so I wanted to offer you, you, the people that
have been with me, you, the folks that receive the work, you, the folks that are curious about
what astrology is and like how it can help. And honestly, I wanted to do something to support
all of the people, all of the different communities in the world in my life that.
that I am in connection with and that I just know of that are doing so much for the planet right now,
that are doing so much for their communities that you, you who do so many things for your family,
for your town, for your community, for the orgs you work with or want to start up,
and all of the different millions of ways that you show up in the world and for the world right now,
I wanted to offer you something to support you in that journey.
So thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for trying this out with me.
The breakthrough course is always and forever a free course.
It's always and forever going to be on the Channie app.
You can do it once.
You can do it 200 times.
You can do the parts of it that you like.
You can forget about the parts that you don't like.
Although if you don't like those parts, maybe there's a reason for it.
I don't know.
That's up to you.
It's between you and your therapist and your goddess and whoever else you, you know, answer to.
But thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
We haven't seen anything.
winter, there are no signs of life, and then all of a sudden things start to come up.
Even though it's still cold, it's still weird, it's still March, it's not March now. But you
know what I mean? When the sun enters Aries, it's like, is spring really going to come?
And Aries has to change seasons from the dead of winter in the northern hemisphere to the emergence
of spring. That is the energy that Aries brings with it. So any planets in Aries has that feeling of like,
I don't care what's in my way. I'm busting through it. I don't care if you tell me it's been winter
forever. I'm changing it. It's now going to be spring. So having Neptune and as of this week,
also Saturn in Aries gives us this feeling of like, I've waited long enough. Do not tell me no
or go ahead and tell me no. I'm just going to use it as fuel to make sure it's a yes. I am going to make it
happen, and I'm going to make it happen faster than anybody ever has in the history of doing this
thing. Now, Saturn is a planet that loves to be slow. It loves a long-term gratification. It is not
an Insta anything. It is not instant gratification. It is not Insta-gram. It is not any of it.
It is old. It is wise. It is Crone energy. It is Grandpa energy. It is crotchy. It is crotchy.
it is about being a hermit. It is about being able to still ourselves and deal with the obstacles at hand
through being in the struggle long term. Again, very different from Aries. Aries is a style. It's a sign.
But Saturn is a kind of function. And Saturn's function is to teach us about age and wisdom and aging
and the beauty of aging and the importance of aging and the importance of aging and the importance of
doing things beyond our time, right? So I should do things that will benefit generations that I will
never meet because I'll die first. I should do things with a hundred years from now in mind.
I should do things with generations and generations and generations in mind after me that I will
never meet. That's Saturnian. Aries is, let's get it now, let's do it now. It's about now. It's
about this moment, it is now or never. Let's go. So the planet of slowness and of time and of patience
and of stopping us is going to be in this sign of go, go, go. So it's the sign of Saturn's fall.
So Saturn struggles with it. So all of our discipline and our ways of doing things, like this is
the way we do this thing. This is how this thing operates.
this is the structure of something, all of that is going to be malfunctioning.
So we're going to have to learn how to build in a different way.
We're going to have to deal with frustration.
We're going to have to deal with failing systems and failing structures because Saturn
and Ares is signaling a time where the things that we've usually relied upon,
we cannot rely upon anymore, L.O.L.
like any semblance of normalcy. But maybe we shouldn't want things to remain the same.
Maybe we should want more. Maybe we should dream for bigger. Maybe we should dream for a more
inclusive, more holistically good kind of society, kind of world. That is what Neptune is going
to help us with, I hope. Now, Neptune and Saturn are also doing things that are very different.
Neptune wants to erode, Saturn wants to erect. So Saturn's already in a sign that has a hard time
building things. And then it's going to be with a planet, especially in 2025 and 2026, it's going to
be with a planet very close to a planet that wants to disintegrate everything. So again,
the structures we can normally rely on will not be functioning as per usual. We are the ones
that are going to save each other and ourselves. No one is coming to save us. No one is coming to save us.
That is what I think this signature says to us, loud and clear, both Saturn and Ares and Saturn and Neptune
together in Aries. Now, for you personally, this is a whole big deal because Neptune has just moved
into the part of your chart that contains Ares, and now Saturn is going to move in there.
And that means there's such a big emphasis on the part of your chart that contains areas,
again, especially for the end of May, June, July, and August, because Saturn will move back
into Pisces in September. So we have a three-month run at understanding the kind of discipline
and hard work and also frustration that we have to learn how to cope with and deal with in the area
of our chart that contains Aries.
I'm going to tell you something, though, I don't care what it'll be, A, an uphill battle.
That's fine.
That's what Saturn teaches us.
But B, we are going to get some phenomenal work done in the part of our chart that contains Aries.
I promise you.
Again, it's not going to be smooth sailing.
It's not Jupiter we're talking about.
It's not Venus we're talking about.
It is Saturn plus Nebula.
we're to learn to embrace mess. And we are going to learn how to rely on our own agency and strength
and power. And we're going to learn how to do that in unison with other people. And we're going to
learn how to take appropriate action. Action that will help us long term live out our life's purpose.
fight for the things that are ours to fight for. Because if Aries teaches us something, it's that.
The most courageous people I know have brilliant Aries placements. It doesn't mean that you can't
be amazingly courageous without an Aries placement at all. We all have Aries somewhere in our chart.
Maybe you've got a really prominent Mars, though, I would say. But I'm just saying like it is a standout
quality. If someone has something really prominent in Aries, you feel it. They will light a fire under
your ass. You know what I'm saying? So this is our invitation to light that fire under our own ass.
I mean it. Where do you need to do that? Do it. Do it now. Do it all year. Do the breakthrough course.
It'll help you. It's free in the Chani app. Go to the Grow tab. It's a 28-day course that I promise you
will light a fire under your ass. It will help you to do that for yourself. It will help you have
a huge breakthrough. And doing something this week that helps you to shift things is going to be very
helpful because Saturn moving into Aries is a massive shift for us personally and collectively. I promise you.
Okay, that is my opening soapbox monologue about Saturn in Aries. Now let's get into the nitty-gritty
of the week. Remember, Saturn doesn't move into Ares until the 24th of May. But it is by far one of the
biggest moments, most important moments of 2025 at large. All right. On Tuesday, the sun at the very end of
Taurus makes a sex style with Saturn at the very end of Pisces. And it's cute. It's a good, like,
little structural reminder. Now, the beginning of the week,
Saturn's at the very, very, very, very, very, very tail end of Pisces, which might have us a little
tired. The planet is tired. It's at the end, end, end, end, end. So we might be like a little
exhausted about something. We may also, very likely, I know I will be finishing something that we're
going to actually have to go back to September, October, November, December, probably January,
into a little bit of next year. But we're going to do as much as we can to finish something up
this week. And then we're going to put it down for a couple of months and go back to it in September
and really finish it in September. And again, that's going to be connected to the part of your
choice that contains Pisces. And then when Saturn moves into Aries, it's like, boom, whole new
energy, whole new Boston town in the part of your chart that contains Aries. So on Tuesday, we also
move in to Gemini season. Happy Gemini's season. Happy birthday, Geminize. We love you.
Please be nice to us. Big chaos coming for Gemini's this year. Why? Because Uranus, planet of
disruption and upheaval is moving into Gemini in July. More on that later or go listen to
the year ahead forecast that we did on down to Astro because we go into detail about Uranus.
in Gemini there. Okay, and more on that later. So, happy birthday, Gemini's. We love you.
Very chitter-chattery energy. There's a feeling of like, ooh, let's get curious. Let's have fun.
Let's do a million things. I'm done with this one thing. Let's like flitter around. And there's a
gorgeous new moon in Gemini happening next week that I really want you to come back to hear about next week.
Okay. On Thursday, this is where we get fun and flirty. Also, it's Gemini season, so it's just always
fun and flirty. And I mean flirty in like platonic ways or not whatever you want it to be, but it doesn't
have to be romantic. You know what I mean? It's like just like being flirty with life, like feeling it,
feeling yourself. Okay, on Thursday, Venus, planet of love and pleasure makes a trine to Mars. Venus is
an Aries. Mars is in Leah. This is hot sauce. You know what I'm saying? This is about.
seeking out something beautiful and pleasurable and cute and fun and friendly, but like still a little
spicy. This is about going out and making a good time happen. It's on you. Take action. Venus is in
Aries. Go find your fun. Go find your pleasure. Do not let them steal your joy. Make the movement
irresistible. Also on Thursday, the sun makes a sex style to Neptune and then quickly by Saturday
makes a trine to Pluto. And this is what happens when planets move into Ares now. They hit up
Neptune and then they hit up Pluto. And this is really lovely, I think. Like a sex style to Neptune
makes something really exciting that is a little like delirious. It's going to give us a little lift.
it's going to give us just enough disassociation to be like, ooh, anything's possible.
Like the world is so heavy. We've got so many problems that are so obvious, would you say?
Yes, I would agree with that. And we need a little bit of Neptune sometimes to just lift us up out of the bog and the fog and the
situations that are so serious and so severe to remind us of the power of our imagination.
So I do feel like this beginning of Gemini season just has a lot going for it.
There's a lot of, again, energy that helps us to move around, get curious about new possibilities,
and get really creative and imaginative.
And by Saturday, as the sun makes a trine to Pluto, it's about the power of our conversations,
the power of us collectively, the power of our social.
The sun is in Gemini. Pluto is an Aquarius. These are both signs about friendships and people
and twinning and having that kind of conversation that's going to be like, oh, yeah, wow,
I never saw it that way. Oh, and also this. Oh, yes. And that makes me think of this and also this.
And it's deep and it's cathartic and it, again, helps us to tap into the power of our relationships.
I saw something recently, and someone was talking about the fact that everyone asked them,
what can I do?
Like, the world is an absolute disaster.
What can I personally do?
And this person was like, that's the problem, is that we used to say, what can we do?
Because we used to understand that we have collective power, if we're part of a union,
if we're part of a community, if we're part of a fill in the blank.
But now we think it's like up to us individually when it's not at all. It's about us getting
connected into a collective, into a group, into a union of people or into some sort of unionizing
force. And I mean that in all the different ways. How do we create union amongst each other
so that we know we are never fighting alone. We can't fight things alone. I mean, we can do our
own singular part, but it has to be connected to a network of people.
And it just feels like this beginning of Gemini season reminds us of that.
It's about our collective, connective tissue and how we build like that, how we build
horizontally and we move in that way.
Speaking of having important conversations and saying things that are revolutionary, perhaps,
also on Saturday, just before Saturn moves into Aries,
Mercury makes a conjunction with Uranus. This is about saying something upsetting, saying something
that is absolutely true, and absolutely flips a table, and is also absolutely important to say.
It's about saying something loud and it is about saying something disruptive and it is about
not giving a fuck, to be honest. So there might be something that really breaks in the news.
remember Saturn's changing signs this day. So it's already a day of like being on the precipice of
one thing before we're entering a new thing. And at the same time, Mercury is just a microphone,
just picking up whatever it's closest to. And when it's close to Uranus, especially in Taurus,
I don't know, maybe there's going to be some kind of news about stock markets and money and
the way the financial systems of the world are happening right now because it's so chaotic.
Uranus is also at the end of Taurus, which is giving us this extra volatility in terms of our financial
stability instability. I mean, there's certain fascists in power that are really making that
instability happen. I'm just saying the sky is mirroring a moment of material instability as Uranus
gets to the end of Taurus, meaning it's like really bringing home the message of things becoming
unstable on a material level. So because Mercury is meeting up with Uranus, perhaps we're getting a
message about that, a message about the markets, a message about the economy. But for you personally,
it's about bringing home a message that is going to awaken something, shift something,
change something, or it's about how you get free. Uranus is always about freedom. So if it's
at the microphone, in your own personal life, especially if Torres is a really important sign
for you, like if it's your rising or your mid-heaven or your 10th house or your sun or your moon
or the planet that rose your ascendant, then there could be something that you are saying
that is going to get you free of something. Like, I've taken on all these things, but actually,
in actuality, I can't. I need to give it away. Or this is my literal truth and I'm saying it
to free myself up. I have to be honest. I do think that a mercury uranus is going to give us
just absolute honesty. Just be kind when you're in your delivery of it if you are the person
saying something. And then Saturn moves into Ares. Again, hasn't been there since the mid to late 90s.
Big effing deal. We're also going to look to see what we're circling back to that happen in the
mid to late 90s because there will start to be mirroring things that happen then that are happening
now. Obviously, they'll be updated, upgraded, 2.0, but they will be mirroring that time.
So Saturn moves into Aries. This is a big deal for the part of your chart that contains Aries.
I have got you so covered. Let me tell you, in your readings this week in the Chani app,
I go into great detail. There's also a reading about what
Saturn and Ares means for you in the year ahead reading for this quarter, which is Q2.
The reading for Q2 has a Saturn and Ares reading in it for you. And this week's weekly reading
also goes into great depth about the beginning of Saturn and Ares for you. And then one last
little piece of astrology on Sunday, Mercury, Planet of Communication, moves into Gemini.
sign of communication, sign that it rules. Mercury is super strong now. And it makes a sexile to
Saturn. Again, newly in Aries. They haven't done this kind of setup since the mid to late 90s.
So this is a conversation that might feel new and it's really exciting and it's going to be
about the structures of things. So you might even start to hatch some new plans on Sunday.
Who knows? You will tell me. All right. This week's
question comes from a listener who wants to know what does Saturn and Aries mean for me as a
Taurus. So I'm going to do a little thing here. I'm going to do a little 12 sign very short reading,
like tiny little synopsis. Again, I've given you a full reading in the Chani app this week,
but I want you to think about this for your rising.
sign. This is why I want you to think about your rising sign when you think about Saturn and
Ares. A of all, your rising sign tells me what house, what area of life Ares is for you.
If you go by your sun sign, all I know is that Saturn is either connected to your sun or not. So you
can think about your sun sign when I'm talking, but I want you to think more holistically. Or
if you think about your rising sign, you're going to get a more holistic understanding of the
area of life that Saturn is impacting for the next three years, you guys. Three years. Like,
it might connect to your son for a moment or a couple of moments, but it will be in one area of
your chart for three years. So again, it's a fuller understanding of what Saturn and
Aries is free if you think about this in your rising sun. Okay, let's go. Aries Rising. Saturn is here
to help you suit up. This is about your own personal boundaries. This is about taking your energy
seriously. This is about taking your drive seriously. This is about taking your life seriously.
This is about understanding you have this much energy every day. What do you want to do with it?
How do you want to harness it? This is about you becoming a more serious person about the things
that require you to be. Don't become self-serious, please.
Taurus rising.
Okay, Saturn is moving into your 12th house.
This is about taking your healing seriously.
Your healing journey needs to become a serious topic for you to consider.
Also, I need you to spend some very important productive time in the healing caves,
in the writing caves, in the studios, in the dark rooms, in the libraries, in the offices,
is anywhere where you can shut the door and be like, I am giving myself this time and this space
to do this serious thing. Gemini Rising. Saturn is moving into your 11th house of friends
and groups and associations. I need you to understand what groups you need to commit to,
take seriously, what part of your activism you're going to commit to, what part of your
friendships you need to show up for, and where you need to have better.
boundaries in groups and with groups. Cancer rising, this is about taking your public reputation,
your reputation, a all, seriously. It's about taking your contributions to the world. Seriously.
It's about doing something that is going to require you to be disciplined and work really diligently
over the next three years seriously and that you are going to do so in order to be
seriously satisfied with what it is you put out.
like what is your magnum opus that's going to take about three years to complete or put out or from start to finish.
Do focus on that.
Leo Rising, this is about doing something disciplined in the area of your life that has to do with your spiritual life,
publishing something, traveling, education, and teaching.
Dedicate yourself to studying something in depth over the next three years that is,
is going to help you to understand the meaning of your life.
I mean, that's a heavy-handed way to say it, but that's what it is.
Or study something that's going to help you long term.
Virgo Rising, this is about paying your debts, paying your taxes,
making sure that you are taking seriously your understanding of debts, taxes, loans,
and also of how to apply for grants, of how to be in collaborative,
situations of how to be a collaborator. It's also a time to take seriously your mental health and
well-being, whatever that means for you. This is a time for you to be able to do the work necessary
to confront your fears to transform your relationship to them and therefore transforming your
relationship to your life. If we transform our relationship to our fears, we are so in touch
with our agency and our power. It is everything. And that's what you can do over the next three years.
Libra Rising. This is about you and your commitments, your relationships, your commitment issues,
your partner's commitment issues, who you want to partner with, why you want to partner with
them, taking responsibility in the partnerships you're a part of and building something that
is difficult but meaningful over the next three years in your partnerships.
Scorpio Rising, this is about dedicating yourself to doing something that is going to help the systems
of your life. I want you to think about your wellness, your health, your routines, but also your
domestic life, like taking your chores seriously. I know that's a weird thing to say,
but I think over the next three years, you're going to come to understand how important it is
to be very disciplined about your well-being, to be very disciplined.
about protecting your health, about protecting your time, and how to take your power back from
anything that you've been giving it to, especially as it pertains to your labor, whether that's your
domestic labor, like labor, you know, we don't get paid for what we have to do, or your labor
at work. Now, I don't want you to be precious about this. I hope that you find something really
meaningful and satisfying to work really hard at over the next three years that is going to help you
feel like you've built something of value. So I don't want you to not work, obviously. But I do want
you to think about how to value your contributions and how you might tend to devalue the work and the
labor that you do. Sagittarius Rising. This is about taking your creative,
agency and your creative power and your creative visions, seriously. What do you want to make
happen? What do you want to create? What do you want to bring into being with your creative
energy over the next three years? Commit to that and you will fly. You will grow. You will
be lit up, I'm telling you. Capricorn Rising. This is about taking your needs, your foundational
needs, especially for home and family and foundation, seriously. This is about dedicating yourself
to building whatever home base you need, whether that's like on the road or in one place,
whatever kind of family you feel like you need right now. It's time to take seriously what it is
you need to set up in your life in order to feel like you have a place to return to. It's also a
transit that anchors you. It sends an anchor down into the depths. And it's a period of time over the next
three years where you're going to be like, oh, my parents are getting older, I'm getting older.
This shifts the family set up somewhat. And it's just time for that. It just, it happens to the best
of us. We all get older. Aquarius Rising, this is about taking your time seriously. Each and
every day you have 24 hours. That's it.
it. That's all. What do you want to do with them? Can you take your daily life and your daily
routines seriously? If you do, what do you want to accomplish a little bit, a little bit every day
over the next three years? And if you did so, would you feel excessively satisfied? Or,
set another way, dedicate yourself to something that you do a little bit every day that over
the course of the next three years is going to lead to immense satisfaction. Picey's
rising, this is about your money. This is about how you make a living. If you don't have a job,
it's about your resources, it's about your finances, it's about your money, it's about putting down
boundaries with it. It's about taking responsibility for your financial life. It's about taking
responsibility for your material well-being. And it's about really like owning your agency too,
to whatever degree you, you know, we all have it within the system. But saying like, these are
resources. This is how I'm going to value them. How do you devalue your resources? How do you
devalue your work? This is about taking seriously your money, your resources, and if you do work,
taking seriously your livelihood and what you want to do over the next three years to build your
money, to build your wealth, to build your material life, and also to build your business,
if you have one, or your relationship with your work, whatever that is for you.
All right, yeah, I hope that's helpful.
You can return back to this.
And again, I just have so much more available for you on the Chani app in your readings
if you want to join me there for more info.
I am sending you so much love. Come back next week. I want to talk about the new moon in Gemini.
The last new moon in Gemini with Jupiter co-present and Mercury, the ruler of the new moon, is also there.
It's so good. It's the last one for like 12 years that we have with Jupiter there.
So I want to talk about how to really work with it. All right. I'll see you back here.
Then until then, sending you all the love. Bye for you.
