week of May 23rd, 2022. Before we get in to the week's astrology, however, let's situate ourselves
within this year. We have just come through Eclipse C-E.
and Mercury is still retrograde. What do those two things mean? Eclipse season is always rocky and
turbulent and usually comes bearing at least one or two major beginnings and endings or
disruptions. So that is now in the rear view mirror, but only just. And mercury still being retrograde
means that we are still very much in the process of review, restructure, rethinking,
reworking, and revising things. Mercury's retrograde always teaches us about what is not
working and how it needs to be fixed or what not to do next time around. It's like a really good
research period that costs us. You know, like we've got to make the mistakes to figure out what it is
that doesn't do us any good, but making the mistakes and figuring out what was broken already
is always a little painful. So we're still in that process. Mercury will station direct on June
3rd. So we're not in the clear technically until then. Bearing all of that in mind,
this week has some really exciting astrology. It's encouraging, it's enthusiastic. Let's get into
exactly how it unfolds. All right. On the 23rd, on Monday, May 23rd, the sun in Gemini will make a very
optimistic sextile to Jupiter. This does help the week get off to a good start. It feels buoyant.
It feels abundant. And it feels like there's a lot to do, a lot to learn, a lot to communicate,
and a lot of places to go that are quite enthralling. Also,
on Monday, Mercury Retrograde, makes a very helpful sex style to Mars. So in terms of Mercury's
retrograde, this is a review, a backtracking, a looking backward that is helpful. It is a piece of
information or data that can be incredibly insightful and also defining. On the 24th, on May 24th,
Tuesday, we have Venus making a very helpful sex style to Saturn. So you can tell all of the
astrology so far is very helpful. This sex style between Venus and Saturn is really good for shaping
things that are aesthetically pleasing. So it's really great for the creative process. This is a
moment where beauty comes into form. And it's also a great moment for commitments in relationships. It's
like a green light on, yes, this looks like a good agreement and I can commit to this person or this
situation. But the most exciting moment on Tuesday, May 24th, is that Mars, planet of action and drive
and energy is moving into one of its home signs, Aries. Mars in Ares is full of fuel. It is ready to
rumble. It is charging forward headfirst into a new direction. Of course, this energy, again,
is not that helpful during a mercury retrograde, but it really is emboldening. And so it's going to
rally our courage in the part of our chart that contains Ares. I go into this in great detail
in your reading in the workshop section of the app for subscribers to the Chani app.
This is the last good place that Mars is going to be in for a very long time.
Mars is going to be retrograde for the last part of the year.
But after this, it's going to go into Taurus, which is a sign that has a really hard time in.
And then it's going to be in Gemini for seven months, aka 7,000 years.
And then it's going to go into cancer after that, which it also has a hard time in.
So this is the last really great Mars moment.
What do we do with really great Mars moment?
we get ahead. Again, we've got to wait until Mercury Station's direct, but this is the time to
stoke our fires, to get our courage up, to figure out the ways in which we are going to go forward
when the green light comes. But more importantly, at this moment, Jupiter is also in Ares,
a once in 12 or so year occurrence. It's rare for Jupiter and Mars to be to get.
in Ares is a particular type of potency because Jupiter magnifies everything. It also brings abundance
and it also brings optimism. So where Mars can get cantankerous and even excessively forceful,
Jupiter will tend to temper that tendency. Not only that, but for the next couple of days,
Venus is also here. So both of the benefics are with Mars. So the 24th. So the 24th,
fourth, 25th, 26th, and part of the 28th is a really nice pocket of time for the part of your chart
that contains Aries because it has the ruler of Ares there and it has both Benifics there.
And it is just this moment of getting to understand what the next iteration of your self-development
could be. This is a moment that is really emboldening.
in a positive way. Sometimes we're, you know, egged on or cheered on to do something that isn't that
great. But with both of the benefices here, it does feel like we're being cheered on to do something
that has a kind of good for all sentiment at the heart of it. On May 25th, Mercury retrograde
makes a trine to Pluto. Again, a very helpful little piece of astrology for this retrograde. We're
still backtracking. We are still reviewing. We're still figuring out where we went wrong before.
But with this trying to Pluto, we get help by going deep into the problem or deep into the issue or doing
some kind of subterranean deep dive and pulling up a piece of info, intel data that has been long
buried. On the 26th, things get a little dicier. Venus, planet of love and connection and beauty.
makes a square to Pluto, planet of subterranean underworld power struggle, power themes, and power
plays. This is a day that can be really challenging for all Venus issues and Venus people. So Venusian
issues are relationships, beauty, art, culture, and creating things that feel beautiful, feel
wonderful, feel delightful, and are pleasing in some way, shape, or form.
When Venus goes through a rough spot, things don't usually feel so good for that moment because
Venus is in charge of making things or helping things feel good.
So here we have some kind of relationship, interpersonal exchange happening that demands that we go
deeper and we grapple with feelings that are quite challenging and also demand a really stark
kind of honesty in order for the situation to become eventually transformative, which is
ultimately, I think, what Pluto is helping us to get at. On the 28th, however, Venus moves in
to Taurus. And now Venus is in its own sign and also Mars is in its own sign. These are not long
lasting transits, but they're very, very helpful in the ways that they can be helpful. Venus in a good
sign is very helpful for relationships, for creating situations that are delightful, that are
beautiful, that are sensually pleasing. Mars in its own sign is really good for figuring out how we
are going to win whatever battle we are in. And the theme of being victorious is definitely
amplified come the end of the week and throughout the next couple of weeks,
and throughout the next year as Jupiter adventures through Aries.
But in particular, on May 29th, there is a conjunction between Mars and Jupiter.
And this is the only time it's going to happen while Jupiter is in Aries because Jupiter rules Ares.
It is a moment that feels really supercharged.
Now, let's just take one other look at this.
Mars is not a friend of Jupiter. So it might not be great for Jupiter
Jupiter can only help out Mars. And Jupiter is in Mars's territory. So it's
kind of like you're at somebody's house and they come home and they can offer you what they have.
What Mars has isn't generally like the things that Jupiter wants because they're on different teams.
They have different aims. Mars is to cut through everything and win at all costs, and Jupiter is to
include everyone and have a good time and be the great benefic and offer a lot of optimism and
abundance. So they have very different aims, but when they come together, it can be quite
explosive as it magnifies the desire to go fast and furious and far and also wide because it's
Jupiter. So again, it feels turbocharged, but Mercury is very retrograde. So what do we do with
excess energy when it floods our system? We have to channel it in some way, but we don't necessarily
want to let it have its way with us. It's like we have everything we need in order to go at a great
speed, but there's so many potholes in the road and the conditions are not good, so we can't
go as fast as we could. So what do we do with this? Well, because this is happening in Aries,
and because Aries is about the self, and it is about our own individuation, if you will, and
definitely about our own independence and our own drive, we can use this week's astrology to
help us connect with that part of ourselves, to help us understand what the next level of our self
development is. And I know that that is such an overused term, and I almost don't want to use it at
all. But there is something about our own courage to meet the test or to meet the moment as it's
happening in our life as we need to in this time in our life with a new found resolution and an
energy and an enthusiasm. And if we don't have an enthusiasm, at least a deep and unwavering
commitment to being bold. What does that mean for you? What would it take from you to do so?
what would it give to you to do so?
What would it mean for you to do so?
In your life, in your own way, in this moment.
I think that that is the great offering of this week's astrology.
All right, y'all, that is the reading for the week.
I hope it's helpful.
I'll see you back here next week.
Sending lots of love.
Many, many blessings.
Bye for now.
