Astrology of the Week Ahead with Chani Nicholas - The Week of May 29th: A big and bountiful Full Moon in Sagittarius
Episode Date: May 29, 2023Episode 128 In this podcast, New York Times bestselling author and astrologer Chani Nicholas discusses the astrology of the week and what it might mean for us all. The astrology of the week of May ...29th, 2023, urges us to go big, and probably not go home. On Thursday, Jupiter (the planet of abundance) meets up with the North Node (a place where eclipses happen and appetites tend to go unchecked), so there’s a risk of overdoing it. On Friday, Venus (the planet of love) trines Neptune (the planet of illusion), creating a romantic moment that’s great for enjoying beauty and connecting with the people we love. On Saturday, there’s a Full Moon in Sagittarius, which is a beautiful invitation to explore and get adventurous. And because Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius, the influence of this Full Moon will be even more potent. Later that same day, Mercury (the planet of communication) conjoins Uranus (the planet of disruption), encouraging us to have loud conversations that get to the truth of the matter. It’s a bold and liberating week. So have fun, then rest deeply. This week is going to urge us to go big and probably not go home.
Hello and welcome.
This is the astrology of the week ahead podcast.
I'm your host, Chani, Nicholas.

on. And in this episode, we're going to talk about the week of May 29th. This is a full moon week.
That means that all week we're building towards a kind of crescendo, big moment. For those of you that
tend to really get impacted by the full moon, just keep that in mind because more than likely
over the course of the end of the week, like into the weekend, we're going to
be feeling this kind of urginging energy. And for some of us, that leaves us agitated and irritated
because it makes it harder to sleep because there's this big light in the sky that's not usually there
or it's only there once a month. Anyways, it's a full moon. So make sure that you just like keep that
in mind. I like a lot about this full moon. A, it's not an eclipse, so that's great. We just came out of
eclipse season. The last full moon was an eclipse and that is never a lovely situation. But this full moon
is not an eclipse and it does feel like it's got something that's really poignant attached to it.
Two things. This is a full moon in Sagittarius, which is always lively. It's always enthusiastic.
It always like starts out the gate, just running full blast, full tilt towards the horizon.
So it's definitely a full moon that encourages our adventurous spirit.
It encourages us to kind of like burst forth onto the scene in some way, shape, or form.
But the ruler of this full moon, which is Jupiter, is doing something really interesting.
Now, if I just lost you there, like ruler of the full moon, what do you,
talking about. Every sign has a planet that is in charge of that sign. Or every sign has a planet
that is a planet that no matter where it goes or what it does tells us what is going to happen
in that part of our chart or in that part of the sky. So whenever there's a new or full moon,
we always look to the planet that is in charge of that sign to see what that planet is doing. Or
we do a lot of the times. It can give us info. It's kind of like behind the scenes info
in terms of like what else this lunation is going to do or what we could use it for, what we
could expect. What is it mirroring back to us? And this week, Jupiter, the planet that is in
charge of Sagittarius or that does well in Sagittarius or has its domicile in Sagittarius,
Jupiter is making a conjunction. So it's passing over what we call the North Node, which is a place
where eclipse has happened. So this full moon is not an eclipse, but there is something in the air that
feels significant like an eclipse. The North Node, where Jupiter is going to be, is a place that we
associate with greed. We associate it with a big desire, and we associate it with a wanting and a
grasping almost, like a reaching for something. In a lot of different astrologies, it's seen as
the hungry head of the dragon that eats the sun or the moon during an eclipse. And so we can think of
it as that like voracious appetite, that part of us that's always going for more or that kind of
energy that's never, never, never satiated. So we always want to counter stuff when we know it's
around the North Node. And the way we can counter it is by not giving into greed and just knowing,
like, I'm probably not going to feel satiated. Like, wherever your North Node is in your chart,
which I highly recommend you go and read about on the Chani app because the team did an
incredible job putting together the information, the artwork, all of the stuff about the
nodes in your chart. I highly recommend you go and read.
about your North Node because it is the place in your life, wherever your North Node is in your chart,
it is the place in your life where you will feel an insatiable appetite for something.
And it's good to know that because it is a point of agitation.
And yes, it is a inclination or it does tell us what we are inclined to keep going for and what we're driven about.
And that's great. Having drive is wonderful. But if our drive is unconscious or if the ambition that's kind of like compelling us to go forward or propelling us to go forward isn't checked with a conscious practice of saying like, okay, like whatever the best is for everybody concerned, I will also be.
happy with, like, I'm going to go for the thing, and I'm also going to trust in a greater intelligence
than just my own desire for things. If we don't have that, then we get in trouble, and we can go
down a road of just, like, grasping, grasping, grasping. In modern astrology, there's a lot of talk
about the North Node being where we're going in this lifetime, which, if that's your philosophy,
great. It's not my philosophy, but I understand it in as much as if that's where I'm driven
towards, if that's like, if the location of my North Node tells me what I'm hungry for, what I'm
greedy about, what I can get carried away about, and what I'm probably going to be propelled
into achieving, then there's a way in which the reeds are kind of similar. I just come at it from a
more traditional standpoint, which is to say like, hey, this is, this is, this is, this.
is a big hungry dragon like you know watch it make sure you understand it so all that to say as jupiter
moves over the north node this week there's going to be an emphasis on all things jupiterian
and jupiter is the planet of abundance and jupiter is the planet of bringing forth good things and
it's in tourists right now so it's really focused on the material it's focused on how we work with
our resources. It's focused on our relationship with the Earth. And because the North Node is this
kind of like volatile, you know, energy that can leave us wanting and desiring. And Jupiter can
gas us up. Literally, it's the gas giant. It's the biggest planet in our solar system. So it's like
big plus big in a sign that is about enjoying the comforts of life and enjoying the material.
realm. And I hope that this amplifies our need to take care of the planet and of this earth. And also,
I see the red flag that this could be a moment of exceptional greed, right? If we're grasping and if it's
in the sign torus and if it's about the material and if Jupiter just wants more, then, you know,
that could be a thing that we see in the headlines, something about environmentalism,
which we should have in the headlines all the time because, hey, it's our big looming crisis
that we must address and we have to completely change the ways in which we relate to the planet
and its resources to ourselves, to our bodies, our labor, each other's labor, everything to do
with the material realm, all of it, tons of work to do there. This week seems to amplify some of
that stuff. Now, on a personal level, this is interesting because it amplifies the message of Jupiter's
transit through Taurus, which means it amplifies some of the qualities that you're going to be
channeling or living out over the course of this next year, because over the course the next year,
Jupiter is moving through Taurus. So if you go to the Chani app, if you're already in there,
Then listen to your reading this week.
We talk a lot about what Jupiter and Taurus means for you specifically.
And this week might give you a little heads up in terms of what kind of expansion, what kind of abundance.
And hopefully what kind of growth is in store for you or is being reflected back to you that you are undergoing at this moment.
So really good to know where Jupiter is in your chart or where it's transiting through in your chart right now.
Also good to know where your needle, your birth Jupiter is, the Jupiter and your birth chart.
And take note if they're doing anything together.
What I mean by that is you can go to the transit section of the Chani app and see if Jupiter's making any transits to any of your planets.
Anyways, you can also just read your Jupiter and Taurus horoscope on chanee.com.
or again, in the app under the current sky.
And that'll give you an inkling about it.
I'm saying all this because I want you to watch for what's happening this week
in that area of your life, the area of your life that corresponds with the house Jupiter's moving through.
Because as Jupiter touches this or transits this point,
there's something here that can make a mark.
there's an event or an inkling or a desire or a situation that occurs that could have the kind of weight that an eclipse has.
Not totally, but, you know, like this is a big deal.
Jupiter will transit over the nodes, over the North Node once a year, mostly.
And Jupiter and the North Node being together in Taurus and, you know,
doing this little conjunction thing is important. It's a marker of sorts. Okay, long way to say
this full moon feels even bigger because its ruler is Jupiter. Jupiter's big and it's making a conjunction
to the North Node, which is always going to really like encourage more of. Okay. So Jupiter in the
North Node make a conjunction on Thursday. So we're moving towards that. The beginning of the week doesn't
have like a ton, ton of astrology. But that Jupiter North Node thing is going to be the first,
the first runner up, the first up to bat. On Friday, we've got a Venus trine Neptune,
which I love, very romantic. It's a lot of flow. It's a lot of sweetness. It's a lot of honey.
It's a really good time to make those efforts to be in connection with the
people that you love and the beauty that you want more of in your life. It's a great time to
bring that into your world. It's a beautiful date night. Date yourself, date with a love,
a platonic date. Doesn't matter. It's very sweet, romantic, loving, ideal. Use it, work with it.
Love up on your people. Okay. Then on Saturday, the full moon in Sagittarius occurs. It's happening at
842 Pacific Time. So if you are in a much later time zone, that will be Sunday. But we'll all be
feeling the swell of it on Saturday. For those of you in this area of the world, it will be big
and bright and beautiful and peeking on Saturday nights. So, you know, it's an invitation to go
explore, get adventurous, go wow, go crazy, all of that stuff. And note that there's also something
quite turbulent that's happening on Sunday. And the turbulence has to do with a conversation that
we have or some kind of information that comes through. So it's definitely a really active weekend with
the full moon. And then on Sunday with this kind of turbulent astrology, the turbulence, though,
could be really groundbreaking. That's what turbulence does, right? It kind of breaks new ground.
And things that are groundbreaking can be really exciting. It can also be really last.
and really kind of wild.
And so there is this like feeling of wildness that goes throughout the week.
The thing I'm talking about on Sunday is Mercury and Uranus are making a conjunction.
And that's always really good for conversations that get right to the truth,
for saying something, communicating something with a lot of volume.
It's a very loud sentiment.
And it's happening in Taurus, which is where, again, Jupiter and the North Node came together.
And I'd say, you know, the North Node is loud.
ish. It's got that feeling of things being disrupted or disruptive. And you know, all this is
happening in Taurus. Taurus is a very mellow sign. So that might even it all out a little bit.
But it's a full moon week and it's a fiery full moon and it wants us to gallop towards what we hold
to be true. That's the other thing here. Jupiter is about our moral compass. Jupiter is like,
This is what I believe. This is what my philosophy is. This is what my spiritual life is. This is maybe even what my religion is. And these are the reasons why. Philosophically, this is what it is. And that is being amplified this week. And then a full moon in Sagittarius, which again is about faith and philosophy and all of those things I just listed. And then with the Mercury Uranus, that's all about truth. That's all about the truth bursting.
through our conversations and all of our communication channels. And it's about something getting
disrupted. So there is this seeking for something. There's this seeking for truth. There's a seeking
for what is aligned with our own sense of morality. There is something here that's also kind of galvanized
into action because it's a full moon in Saj and Saj and Saj is just a bunch of wild horses running free.
So do with that what you will. I hope it is a really encouraging full moon. If Saj and Jupiter do anything,
it is to cheerlead and to encourage and to lead with optimism. So may that be what's amplified this week.
And any and all truth that comes to the surface, I hope it's liberating because what else will we here to do?
you and I are here to get free, to live in honesty, and to do the things that we feel are the right
thing to do. And I do think that this astrology calls for that. Also, take care of yourself.
It's a full moon week, weekend, have fun, and then, you know, do the deep rest thing that you need.
Thank you all so much for leaving us reviews of the app in the app store. It really helps us to know how the app impacts
you, how you work with it, and we read every single one. This one is called Gratitude. It's by
Anna Louisa. I wanted to share it with you. Though astrology has always intrigued me, for some time
it felt too big and confusing to delve into very deeply. The Chani app has lifted the veil.
The explanation of my chart, weekly readings, and resources have me feeling seen in ways
I've only felt seen by those who love me the most.
It is with almost uncanny regularity that the astrology of the week ahead, which I often
listen to midweek, has recounted my actual lived experiences, soothed my tender heart,
or exalted my accomplishments.
This is next level affirmation of what we as a collective are feeling, doing, and being.
Thank you, Chani, and team for your gifts.
sending you lots of love many many many full moon blessings i'll see you back here next week
for more bye for now
