With the first eclipse of eclipse season, barely out of view, this week brings a couple of unforeseen twists and turns.

This is a year for you to get free, to shake things up and to do things differently.

We're talking about the week of May 2nd.
Now, we just had our very first eclipse on April 30th.
It was the first eclipse of 2022.
It was the first eclipse of eclipse season.
The next eclipse will occur on May 15th slash 16th,
depending on your time zone.
So this week is that in-between moment,
in between eclipses. You can think of it as a week to integrate the lessons of the first eclipse
and to prepare a little for the next eclipse, but and also this week and its astrology
may be a little more derailing than helpful in that pursuit. Why? Well, because on May 5th,
the sun will make a conjunction with Uranus. This is a once-a-year transit, so reliably this happens
every year. And we know that when it happens, the sun is shining the light on the most
disruptive planet that we've got in our little solar system. Now, disruptions can be really
important, really helpful. They can also be alarming and disconcerning. And because Uranus can feel
like an earthquake, like something that is supposed to be solid is shaking and unrelationalizing
unreliable underneath us, it can bring up a lot of fear or discomfort. When we're experiencing
turbulence, we don't know how things are going to land or how bumpy it's going to get.
And more often than not, it ends up being not that bad. It ends up being a little jostling,
and it ends up being something that maybe even knocked something else in our life back in place,
like our senses.
Like we can be woken up by this kind of transit.
Breakthroughs are often associated with this type of astrology.
So that's what's happening.
Officially it's happening on the 5th.
We'll probably be feeling it though throughout the week and kind of coming to a head
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and then kind of fading out for the rest of the week.
So that's the main theme is how to get free.
in our life, how to have more space. Also, how to work with our resources differently. This very much,
as we've been talking about for a while now, pertains to the resources of the earth and how we
interact with them. But the resources in our life, our time, our energy, our talents, ourselves,
our bodies, like, how are we working with the things that we have in a way that feels sustainable
and like it still has sweetness in it.
This is your life.
You have a finite amount of time on this planet.
What are you doing with the things that you've been blessed to have?
What are you doing with the resources that you have access to?
And is there a way to work with your life that is going to be far less taxing, far more enjoyable?
and that is going to center some sweetness and pleasure and the power of relaxation.
Because this is happening in Taurus.
And that is Taurus's sweet spot.
It's how to be productive and still take time to enjoy every single last little droplet of any and everything that is delightful.
So that is probably going to be the biggest thing that stands out for us, astrologically speaking.
We're in between eclipses.
Eclipses tend to be times that are quite pivotal in our life.
They are like corners that we turn or like different chapters that happen during the year.
And it's not necessarily always about what happens on the day of the eclipse,
but it really is the whole time frame of eclipse season.
So the last bit of April and really the first half of May is this cornerstone in the year that is marked by these eclipses and the changes that they bring.
The beginnings and endings that happen here.
The pivotal decisions that are being made during them are what you'll look back to.
So definitely like do some journaling.
We've got journal prompts in the workshop section of the app that pertain to these eclipses.
and this moment in the year.
And the cool thing about journaling and the app is that you can go back and look at your entries.
And of course, you can always just use the journal prompts to journal by hand in your journal.
But definitely mark it and look back at this time frame at the end of the year to see what these eclipses did for you,
how they shaped your route forward, your path, and how they shaped your decision.
making process. All right. Let's look at the week day by day, because there are a couple of other
really important pieces to it. I just don't think they'll stand out as much as that sun,
Uranus conjunction. Okay, on Monday, May 2nd, Venus leaves Pisces, sad face, cry emoji,
tear rolling down my cheek. It moves into Aries, which is really great for the part of our chart
that contains Ares.
And I just want to say that the part of our chart that contains Ares is about to get a huge
boost from Jupiter.
Jupiter will also move into Aries on May 10th.
So Venus is going there first, laying down some flowers for Jupiter's entrance.
For the part of our chart that contains Aries, this Venus transit is really good.
In general, for like the total astrological climate, Venus and Pisces is, you know, one of the
sweetest signatures that you can have. But I'm very excited to talk this week in your weekly reading
about what this Venus and then this Jupiter transit through Ares is going to mean for you and your
charts specifically. So May 2nd, Venus moves into Ares. It makes us a little bit more impatient with
building relationships. So make sure you remember that relationships and bonding and connections
take time, but it might also help everyone become a lot more adventurous about how we initiate relationships.
It's a lot of initiating energy and it all pertains to art and beauty and desire and other people.
On Tuesday, May 3rd, Jupiter makes a really helpful sex style to Pluto.
This engenders growth in a way that is deep and possibly even cathartic.
it feels really powerful. So the part of your chart that contains Pisces is getting a really nice
infusion of something that is less dreamy and floaty like Jupiter and Pisces can be and a lot more
kind of profound and deep and even helpful in terms of attaining something, which again, Jupiter and Pisces
is not really about attaining anything. It's really about opening up to the great source of
oneness that is all of life. Then on Wednesday, May 4th, Mars makes a sex style to Uranus. This definitely can
spur some good surfing. Mars is in Pisces, so it's not necessarily incredibly direct, but it can get a lot
done if we are willing to go with the flow. And this is like an innovative flow, a flow that helps us to
get more creative with whatever it is we're doing. And it's a very uranium kind of moment because
on the fifth, on Thursday, really Wednesday night, depending on your time zone, the sun makes
the conjunction to Uranus. So we know that the midweek portion is going to be a little bit more
wild, a little bit disruptive, or at least it helps to awaken us to the possibilities that are in
front of us if we can take the necessary risks and the well-thought-out risks that are being presented
to us. It's a lot about freedom and how to move with more freedom through our life. Okay, then also on the
5th, Mercury makes a lovely little sex style to Venus. This might help to smooth things over if stuff
gets rocky. Then on the 7th, the sun makes a sextile to Mars. Again, this feels like energy.
it feels like movement. It feels like we want to get things done. But in a way that's very harmonious. The sun is in Taurus, Mars is in Pisces. The most shocking part of the week is definitely midweek, Wednesday, Thursday with that sun Uranus conjunction. I also want to say next week is some big astrology. Not only does Jupiter change signs on May 10th, which is huge news. It's huge news for all of your Ares placements.
If you're Ares rising, if you have planets in the beginning part of Ares especially,
but anyone who has anything in Aries mid-heaven, descendant, I see, D.C., planets, whatever,
it's big, big news.
And it's big news for us all in general because there's a huge shift in tone.
Jupiter is all about growth and abundance and unfolding and opening up and saying yes to something.
And Jupiter is moving from one part of our chart, that part of our chart that contains Pisces,
to the part of our chart that contains Ares. Everyone has Ares somewhere in their chart.
It doesn't mean that you have to have a planet there. You have Aries in a house in your chart.
Charts are not lists. They're circles. They're a whole circle snapshot of the sky. Every single
sign is in every single person's chart. Having a planet in a sign is different than having a sign in a house or having every sign in your chart.
which I promise you, you do. Okay, so there is a huge tonal shift that's coming and it's all about
growth and opportunity and bringing some kind of openness, maybe even abundance into a new part of
your life. We'll talk about that also in this week's reading and we'll focus on it a lot in next
week's reading. Not only that, but also on May 10th, the same day that Jupiter enters Ares,
Mercury Station's retrograde. So we are about to go into another.
Mercury retrograde. It will be from May 10th to June 3rd. It will be in Gemini. It'll start in Gemini and it'll move back into Taurus.
So, you know, eclipse season is also Mercury retrograde and all of the mayhem that it brings. So the next eclipse will definitely be a lot more complicated than the one we just had.
And this week, with that disruptive sun uranus moment and the fact that Mercury is getting ready to station retrograde, there's definitely some complications.
So go slow, be methodical, and think about the ways in which you can do things differently with a more innovative approach and in a way that feels less taxing and more streamlined.
Mercury retrogrades point out what has never worked, what has been broken for a while,
or what is completely unsustainable.
The problems that get pointed out to you now are not because Mercury's stationing retrograde.
They are because they've been problems, and Mercury's helping you understand how problematic
things are during its retrograde.
So if you can think of it like that, it's not like Mercury's trying to do something to you.
Mercury retrograde is just revealing the things that get jammed in the system and will cause
bigger problems down the road if we don't deal with them right now.
So your prayer slash affirmation can be, I give thanks for all of the things that Mercury
retrograde is going to teach me about how to create better systems and how to fix what is broken
and not try to fix what isn't broken.
Before I go, I wanted to again say thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has left an app review.
They are so helpful for us and they're also a highlight in our week.
This week I wanted to read you one by Ashley, S-R-N-I-T-H.
I'm not sure how you say that.
But the review is I use this app and Channies Weekly Podcast slash reading.
to plan out and structure my week.
I've been a subscriber for about a year and will never not be one.
Chani has taught me so much invaluable information and change the way I see the world
through the lens of astrology and mindfulness.
Thank you so much for your commitment to teaching this information in a pleasant
and concise way.
We also got a ton of feedback about how happy everyone is that there are transcripts available
in the app. In this audio player, there's that button that you just have to press that says transcripts,
and you get a transcript of what I'm saying right now. We hope it and everything else in the app is
helpful to you. Sending you so much love, many, many blessings, take good care of yourselves and each other.
Bye for now.
