Starting point is 00:00:00 My intention for this week, in light of the astrology that we're going to go through, is to ask questions, is to stay curious and to keep wondering what it is that I might be missing. To keep wondering what it is that I might be misunderstanding, misconstruing or making up a narrative about. because there's a lot that's floating through the ethers that might hurt our feelings. That might feel like hostility or fighting words or like we're fired up in a way that isn't quite helpful. So I want to stay with what's actually happening. What meaning am I making of it? And is that the most helpful way to engage with this situation? And if that sounds like good advice to you, you can take it too.
Starting point is 00:01:07 Hello and welcome. This is the Astrology of the Week Ahead podcast. And I'm your host, Channy Nicholas. In this podcast, we look at the astrology of the upcoming week and how it will be landing for all of us collectively. For a more personalized reading that dives into the ways that this week's astrology will play out for you, download the Chani app for iPhone. In this episode, we are looking at the astrology of the week of November 28th. All right. So this isn't like major era-defining astrology at all.
Starting point is 00:01:53 It is going to go by pretty quick. So I want you to just know that these are little moments that ripple out. But they're not like eclipses or major configurations. However, it feels like something very important. is being articulated through these little minor bumps in the road and through these little moments. And what's being articulated or brought to the surface is connected to something that is much deeper. And one of the key ingredients of 2022 is astrology. So Mars is retrograde. It has been retrograde since October 30th. And Mars retrograde is a big deal because Mars is a hard planet. It's
Starting point is 00:02:40 an important planet. There's room and reason for every single thing in the sky. Everything is as important as the next. And Mars is like, okay, I'll help you forge your own path. I will help you to be an individual. I will help you to gather your courage and be victorious and fight the fight that you need to out in the world. But I'll also cause damage and bring ruckus and cause a all kinds of chaos when I'm out of control. Mars can harm or it can help depending on how we work with it. And Mars retrogrades bring big lessons to the surface about how we work with our power, our agency, our anger, and our fire, how we direct it. Now, a textbook manifestation of Mars retrograding through Gemini is about the proliferate. of words and sentiments that cause damage that are violent and that create separation.
Starting point is 00:03:49 And we've had a lot of that kind of rhetoric happening in the public sphere, in the public square, i.e. social media since October 30th, of course, for decades, eons, thousands of years, but it definitely feels like it's picked up and magnified over this past little watch. And this astrology this week is focused on some of the impacts of Mars's retrograde. So there's the collective experience that we're having, and then there's the individual experience that we have. And what's happening this week is both Mercury, the microphone, the megaphone, the messenger, the interpreter, and Venus, the planet of relationships and connection are making an opposition with Mars. And that's exactly what it sounds like. When we are in an oppositional situation, we're at odds with something.
Starting point is 00:04:49 So Mercury is going to pick up on these conversations that are challenging. And Venus is going to have us in our feelings about what might be harsh or harmful or feel like separation in a place where we want to bond. On a collective level, this feels like it inflames something. And on a personal level, it might be something that lands in our life as big lessons in relationships and how to have conversations about things that are challenging, especially because they impact our sense of being able to bond. What do you do when you feel a bond or a source of love connection relationship is threatened? by an adversarial moment or by a moment where you feel at odds with someone that you love, that you count on, that you're in community with, that you rely on for a lot of different things. We are social beings and coming up against the things that separate us are challenging and also so
Starting point is 00:06:01 necessary. So again, remaining curious. That's the positive spin on Mars. is retrograding through Gemini. How can we stay curious about the hard things that come up? How can we stay curious about conflicts when they happen? How can we stay curious about how to manage a situation, how to contain a potential damaging moment?
Starting point is 00:06:30 How can we stay curious about any and all anti-inflammatory approaches and in this week, that's especially about relationships. So if I can stay curious, I can stay out of assumptions and possibly in solution in regards to what that oppositional thing might be or feel like or show up as. So on Monday, we've actually got some really lovely astrology on Monday. Lovely is, you know, a word that I'm taking some liberty with. But it's Mars, trining Saturn. So it feels like there's a lot we can get done.
Starting point is 00:07:10 It feels like there is some ambition in the tank, some drive, some fuel to work with, and that it can be really constructive. On the same day, the moon is also in Aquarius, the sign that Saturn is in. And so there is a moon-s Saturn conjunction. So it does feel like we're aware of the boundaries. We're aware of the heft of the moment. we are aware of the impact and we've got the ability to do something with it. It is not like a carefree, freewheeling good time moment, but it is a moment where we're like, okay, I can get something challenging done.
Starting point is 00:07:53 Tuesday and Wednesday is when Mercury and then Venus make that opposition to Mars. So those moments do feel particularly heated or prickly or, like opportunities to stay curious about what's going on and why people are saying what they're saying or why we're feeling a threat. Like, is something a threat? I think that's a really good question to ask during Mars retrograde. Is this actually a threat? Am I safe or unsafe? And if I'm safe and I'm still feeling threatened, why? If I'm actually in a safe situation and container, but I'm feeling threatened by someone that doesn't have any power over me or isn't actually out to harm me. What part of me is feeling threatened and how can I hold that part, address that part, work with that part so that I can diffuse the alarm system that's going off in me?
Starting point is 00:08:53 I'm not saying that all alarm systems should be diffused. Some of them are very legit. All of this is up to you and very situation. based, but again, when it's not an actual threat, but our system is reading it as a threat, what's going on and how can we stay curious and open and spacious in that moment so that we can best deal with the scenario? Okay, Thursday feels like a momentary miniature mercury retrograde. So again, it feels like there's a little bit of hostility in the air or a little bit of challenge
Starting point is 00:09:29 in the air, and then it feels like we go right to confusion. So I don't like the mix. I wouldn't pick it, but here we are. This is what we've got to work with. It's here for a reason. So I just want you to treat the end of the week, mid to end of the week, like a mini Mercury retrograde double, triple check that everyone's got everything they need and that everyone understands what is needing to be understood. Also on Thursday, there's a little Venus, sextile Saturn, which is cute. It can help to maybe solidify something after. a situation that's been challenging. And then on Saturday, Neptune stations direct pulling focus on Neptuneian things, which are confusing, also can be intoxicating, can be very ungrounding, and can be very creative. And then on the same day, Venus makes a square to Neptune, which is a blissful foray into fairyland, which, yay, we love that, but also, If it's mixed in with stuff that feels like sloppy and hard to read and confusing,
Starting point is 00:10:40 then it can just further this sense of getting lost. So what I recommend is taking the week bit by bit, moment by moment, staying really curious, asking all the questions, when something feels confusing, stop, when something feels like, this is related to something totally different. stop and question it. Go through all of the scenarios, ask as many questions as you can when it's appropriate, and see what information you can gather. Go information gathering. And when things feel like, I'm not sure I was understood there, or I'm not sure I'm being clear even, pause, stop, clarify, make sure everybody has the information that they need. And then over the weekend, I hope it
Starting point is 00:11:29 is a wonderful bliss out. I hope that it feels like a moment of much-needed escape. But if relationship issues feel really mucky and muddy and strange, this is not going to help that. This is going to further that. So again, if things feel weird and wonky with the loves of your life, get curious, ask some questions, be brave, tell them how you're feeling. Risk. something for the sake of the strength of your unions. How can you prioritize the well-being of your relationships and ask questions, reach out to people, get clarity when you start to spiral out into narratives about what someone's behavior meant.
Starting point is 00:12:20 Ask. This is how I read the situation. Is that really what was going on? This is what was going on for me. Am I making stuff up? Whatever your thing is, however you can kind of. kind of advocate for yourself. I highly recommend that you do.
Starting point is 00:12:33 And then also like see a lot of art, go to the spa, take a bath, be in luxurious, pleasurable scenarios. Neptune is stationing direct. So that can be wonderful for rom-coms, fantasy novels, and feeling like you're getting the great escape that you need. And after a week with a lot of oppositions to Mars, we're going to want that. All right, y'all, thanks so much for leaving us for views in the app stores. I wanted to read you one.
Starting point is 00:13:09 It's called Affirmations and Meditations by Orpheus 8. I love listening to the week ahead forecast and appreciate all of the transit updates. But the affirmation section has really saved me in the darkest of times. Thank you, Chani and team for giving me such a powerfully inspirational tool that speaks to me so specifically. You are a light and a guide when this. things get murky. All right, y'all. Sending you lots of love, many blessings. Stay curious, ask the questions. See what narratives and stories that you're assuming could actually be incorrect and that you could interrupt and enjoy a new story, a truer story. Bye for now.
