astrology. Like when you look at the year, when you lay it all out, what happens this week leaps off the page in a
really good way. It helps us to center love and connection and pleasure and beauty. And I think it also
acts like a protective amulet for us as we go into eclipse season and the upcoming Mars retrograde.
And to be able to receive these charms, we need to be open to the ways in which we are being awakened through our relationships and in regards to our inter-connectivity.
This astrology also signals a global shift.
And I hope it spells out an awakening and an outpouring of solidarity when it comes.
to matters of justice the world over.
This is the astrology of the week ahead,
and I'm your host, Channey Nicholas.
In this podcast, we look at the astrology of the upcoming week
and how it will be landing for all of us collectively.
For a more personalized reading
that dives into the ways that this week's astrology will play out for you,

So the reason why I'm talking about,
love and justice is the fact that Venus and the Sun are meeting up at the same point,
29 degrees of Libra this week. We call it a Venus Kazimi. And it's a really special Venus
Kazimi. It's happening in Libra, which is the sign that Venus rules. And there's such an emphasis
on the planet when it's in its own sign. And Venus is all about love and relationship.
and justice and balance and equality. And traditionally, Venus symbolizes women and fems and the
feminine principle. So it's special that Venus is going to be Kazimi, Conjunct the Sun. It's special
that this is happening in Libra because that is the sign that Venus rules. But it's also really
special because this is the first time in like a hundred or so years that Venus is not making this
conjunction at this time of year in Scorpio. So this is the cool thing about Venus. Venus is a wild planet.
A lot of you have probably heard of the Venus pentagram. And what that is, in very simplistic terms,
is that Venus makes conjunctions with the sun at roughly the same place in the zodiac when Venus is both direct,
which is what it is now, and retrograde.
So Venus has been making conjunctions with the sun around this time of year,
but they've been in Scorpio, the same place, roughly,
it changes a couple degrees-ish every time it makes a conjunction.
And so when you draw the conjunctions together,
when you map them out on a circle, say,
and you connect the dots, it is a five,
pointed star. It is a pentagram. This is wild. And Venus makes those points at roughly the same
place in the zodiac. It goes around and does that. And then when Venus is retrograde, it does the same thing
in roughly the same place in the zodiac. So Venus is the planet of art and beauty. And in its cycle,
with the sun, it maps out the most precise.
Five-pointed star. That's part of perhaps why it was known as the planet of beauty, besides the fact that it's also like a jewel in the sky at some points in its cycle. It's so bright and so vivid. So Venus and the sun have been meeting up around this time, but in Scorpio for 100 years. So now this is the first time that Venus and the sun are meeting up in Libra. And it's the planet's rulership. So it seems.
to be signifying a shift that has something to do with equality, something to do with justice,
something to do with love and friendship and connection, and maybe even something to do with
women. Now, if you're interested in this Venus cycle, I highly recommend that you check out the work
of Ariel Goodman and Nick Dagan Best. Both of them are experts on Venus and its cycles and have
done extensive research that is really quite fascinating. They were both guests on Chris Brennan's
astrology podcast talking about all of this and then some. Both of those podcast episodes really
helped me to connect a lot of the dots regarding this Venus Kazimi. I highly recommend also
checking out Chris Brennan's astrology podcast. It is fantastic. All right. So everything is Venus this
week. Almost not everything, but a lot is Venus this week, which are all the
these themes. Love, friendship, community, connection, art, justice, equality. And then everything's
going to change really abruptly on Sunday, like total 180. So we've got this for a very limited time.
October 17th, that's a Monday. The sun is going to make a trine to Mars. Mars is about to station
retrograde. So more on that next week. But these are the last couple of really nice moments that we can
have with Mars. This is a call to action. This is the stoking of the fire of our courage.
On Tuesday, the 18th, Venus makes the same thing, makes the same aspect, a trine to Mars.
This is really helpful again for pursuits of justice, for making friendships, for making
connections, for like taking the initiative to reach out and be like, hi, you're cool. I love your
shoes or hey you're my really good friend we haven't talked in too long what's going on like let's
make a connection so use that energy to make the connections that you most want to make then on
wednesday the sun and venus do this wild thing where they both square Pluto this is a
deep overhaul of relationship issues it's almost like a purification on the way to the ceremony
You know how when you're going into a big process of renewal, you take some time to prep.
You might fast or you might pray or you might do some kind of spiritual exercise before going
into the actual event.
That's kind of what Wednesday is like.
So you might run into some kind of heftier power struggles or relationship situations that you
know need to be transformed.
Do not skip this step.
definitely do the prep work here. It's also like, you know, soaking your feet before you get a
pedicure kind of thing. It's like making things a little bit more tender for the whole renewal
process that is about to happen. And then the Venus Kazimi occurs on Saturday at 2.17 p.m. Pacific
time, so it could be the 23rd, depending on your time zone. Saturday, the 22nd of October or Sunday the
23rd of October, again, depending on your time zone. This is the first Venus Kazimi happening in
Libra for a very long time. It is the mark of some new thing, new realization, new relationship
dynamic, new way of being. If you have something like a planet, especially at 29 degrees of
Libra, this could be a very special moment for you, a special week for you. It's going to
be lit up with Venus's charms. You can look in the transit section of the Chani app to see if you're
getting any transits from the sun and Venus. It will highlight them under short-term transits.
One thing to note is that Venus was loved so much because Venus was thought of as this light,
as something really bright in the night sky. One of the ancient names of Venus is the torchbearer.
it is that torch of love. It is that lighthouse that love can become, that friendship is,
that connection is in our life. In the stormiest of nights, we can witness that there's
something out there that is waiting for us, that is warm, that is full of good feeling that we can
return to. And so Venus symbolizes that. So take note if Venus is conjunct anything in your
chart as it does this Kazimi is 28, 29 degrees of Libra especially.
Also on Saturday, Saturn Stations Direct.
This is good news.
It's also really interesting because Saturn is a planet that is exalted in Libra.
And there's a relationship between Saturn and Venus.
You can think of it as commitment and how commitment helps to shape relationships.
So we can think of this Kazimi as having.
an extra potency when we're able to commit to the relationships we know we need to in this moment.
And having the Venus Kazimi happen at the same time as Saturn stationing direct really drives home
this message that love is our responsibility. It is ours to protect. It is ours to cultivate.
It is also our protection. It is our greatest wealth.
It is our greatest power and our most beautiful gift to share.
If there was one thing that we were to focus on this week, given this astrology,
I think it's to be the best friend we can to ourselves and the rest of the world.
And that is the protective amulet we want to take into eclipse season.
Speaking of eclipse season, on Sunday, a couple hours after the Venus Kazimi,
Venus enters Scorpio and then the sun enters Scorpio at 3.36 a.m. Pacific time on Sunday the 23rd.
Scorpio's season is the beginning of eclipse season. Totally different chapter. Totally different dynamic.
Eclipse season is all about shadows and what was hidden coming to light. And it is some deep work that we'll be doing.
I will talk all about it next week. The first eclipse is,
is on Tuesday the 25th of October and Mars stations retrograde on October 30th.
Again, I feel like this week's astrology is an amulet of protection to bring with us through
eclipse season. Not that eclipse season is bad, but it is a period of time that can feel quite
tumultuous. And when you add in a Mars retrograde, we know that there's some hijinks happening in the
cosmos and whatever kind of buffer we can create, the better. And I think that friendship and
connection and relationship is our greatest buffer amulet protection. That ability to love and be loved
is, I think, the entire reason why we're here. It could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what
it's about. Thank you all so much for writing to us, for being in communication with us, for letting
us know just how this app is working for you and how you use it. I want to share a recent app store
review entitled Excellent by Asra. The Chani app content has been supportive to me and my studies.
I find the more I learn, the more deeply I appreciate the information available. Whether
dabbling for fun or using as a means to connect deeply to one's path. It's perfect. Five stars.
All right, y'all, sending you all the Kazimi blessings. In this week's content, we've got a
Kazimi ritual, guided meditation, journal prompts, alter suggestions, all the things that you might
need. Bye for now.
