Three things about this week.
One, it starts us off with a signature that is going to rally our victorious spirit.
This week begins with a signature that helps us to strategize for a win for all.
Number two, it is going to bring us some rude and startling conversations that are going to wake
us up to something that we need to know about now.
And number three, this is the high holy days of spooky season.
We have Sowan, we have Halloween, we have Dia de las Mertos, we have some of the most important holidays,
markers, traditions, ceremonies that help us to remember and to honor the cycles of life
and death and rebirth that we are all a part of. And that is something that this youth-obsessed,
solar-focused culture has a really hard time with. So the more we honor it, the better.
Hello and welcome. This is the Astrology of Week Ahead podcast. I'm your host, your Astro Bestie,
Channie Nicholas. In this episode, we're talking about the week of October 27th,
which I am very jazzed about, if you cannot already tell.
A of all, Sowan is a high holiday for me. B of all, Monday brings us such good astrology and it's
followed up by something that happens on Wednesday, which is equally as fortifying.
And we end up on Sunday with something that is very abundant and very beautiful.
Like Sunday brings us some really beautiful astrology.
Y'all, our holiday store is officially open, and it is our biggest and bestest yet.
We've got an astro planner.
We've got Zodiac mugs, planetary candles and salts, caps, and even washi tapes.
They're so cute.
And we know y'all are going to love all of it.
It's everything you've been asking for and then some.
So head to channey.com to check it all out.
There's something there for everyone, I promise.
So Monday, we've got Mars, the planet of strategy, the planet of cunning, the planet of winning,
the planet of courage.
In its own sign, in the sign of Scorpio, one of its two signs that it rules, here it's very stealth,
here it waits for its prey, here it only exerts energy when it knows it is within striking
distance. So it teaches us how to have patience, how to have strategy, and how to be in the game
long term. This is chess, my friends. There is no checkers here. Mars, the strategist in Scorpio,
makes a trine, a helpful collaboration, a helpful situation, a helpful relationship moment
with Jupiter, the planet of abundance, the planet of blessings, the planet of wisdom,
the planet of growth and optimism.
Jupiter is in one of its strongest signs, cancer.
So it is about the abundance of care.
It is about fertility.
It is about deep hydration and vast nourishment.
So when these two come together, like Mars is just, you know, in it to win it.
And it's going to go for its target, especially in Scorpio.
but Jupiter is quite jolly in cancer. Jupiter is quite, again, full and overflowing in cancer.
So a win for these two or a flowing relationship, a trine between these two in these signs,
is saying that there's a significant advancement for something that is going to be about hydration,
nourishment, care, and facilitating that.
or for helping us to like pick up some steam and do things that are going to be
connective. Jupiter and Cancer is one of the most connective omens that there are. And I know,
it doesn't really feel like that right now. But if we think about what is happening in response
to all of the division and all of the attacks and all of the blatant aggression,
that the state, the states, the many states around the world, are inflicting upon its people,
its natural and opposite reaction is actually an amazing groundswell and an amazing coalition.
And I know it's not enough to impede everything and to stop everything in its tracks right now.
Actually, I do think it is.
Maybe we haven't gotten the strategy yet.
again, enter Mars and hopefully there we go. But I do think that it's very important to focus and to
remember and to keep centered on the ground swell that is happening on the solidarity that is forming.
It takes a while. It is always going to be painful when we're trying to work towards something
quickly because we're trying to stop the hemorrhaging and all of the loss and all of the damage that
is also occurring at the same time. But Jupiter and Cancer, which it has been there since June,
is a mark of an uprising of people against a totalitarian type of regime. So Jupiter and Cancer is
still symbolizing that. And as Mars makes a trine to it and supports it and as it supports Mars,
there's something here that's really important for us to remember about our strategy and about
the ways in which we want to move the tides of people, right? These are both in water signs. Mars is in
Scorpio, Jupiter is in cancer. This is about the flow of water, the flow of feeling, the tides of our
uprisings and how we want to keep propelling it forward. Like, where can we go downstream? Where can we
move with the flow and just keep moving more of our resources and our attention? And our attention.
and our energy along this path.
Speaking of flow and movement on Wednesday, Mercury makes a trine to Neptune.
And that is a really dreamy signature.
That's a signature of having conversations that feel very idealistic and very imaginative.
And it's a really good conversation starter.
So I do like that.
And on the same day, Mars makes a trine to Saturn.
So Saturn is in Pisces.
Jupiter is in cancer and Mars is in Scorpio. These are the three water signs. So there is essentially a
grand water trine taking place in the sky. That's a modern kind of construct or way of seeing things.
And it's very helpful because there's a major thing happening in each of the water signs. So again,
we want to talk about flow. We want to talk about the current of emotion that is happening right now.
we don't do anything unless we feel motivated to do it. I mean, I have to do things that I don't
feel motivated to do. But it's much easier for me to do things that I feel motivated to do. If I feel
connected to you, if I feel like you are connecting to me, if I feel connected to the same cause as what
you are promoting, I am going to show up. And that's what I really want us to tap into this week.
how do we connect to people on a feeling level? How do we not worry about how to be right and how to be
the smartest and how to be the, you know, like we need to understand facts. We need to honor science.
We need to do all of that. And how do we connect with other people on a level of feeling and on a level of like,
hey, come this way. This is going to be good. The party is over here because we're saving democracy and it's
really fun. And how do we, again, funnel that channel that move that current of emotional
energy in a direction that is upholding what is good for all, that is nourishing, that is
hydrating, and that is going to help us to like rising tides move all ships kind of vibe.
That's what this week is really good at. A Mars-trying Saturn is excellent for long-term strategy.
It's like, okay, this is the aim, this is the goal, this is a dream, this is the strategy,
this is the long-term plan, let's go.
And because Jupiter's there supporting it, it's very optimistic and it's very helpful.
This is very, very helpful astrology.
And then to throw a wrench in the works on Wednesday, Mercury makes an opposition to Uranus.
And this destabilizes things.
Now, Mercury has just moved in to Sagittarius.
So Mercury makes that trying to Neptune, dreamy, poetic, imaginative conversations,
healing conversations, wonderful, wonderful.
And then moves into Sajj where things get a little hijacked by long-winded theories and adventures.
But, and also, Mercury makes an opposition to Uranus.
And this is where we get a rude conversation.
Rude is not bad.
You know what I mean?
Like, oh, that's so rude because you told me the truth.
Like you called me out.
it's that kind of vibe, but it also might be like breaking news, which I don't want, I really,
unless it's good breaking news. So there's that kind of feeling of like a disturbance in the
force field on Wednesday. And there's going to be a reoccurrence of that on November 4th. So
November 4th is a very surprising day. We're hoping for an amazing surprise. It's going to kind of
unsettle the status quo, and we're hoping that that is a very positive sign, even if it is a
very disruptive one. Anywho, let's stick to this week. On Thursday, the 30th, Mercury then makes
a sextile to Pluto. Really good for more comms. It's going to help us to integrate the disturbing,
the awakening, the loud conversations that we were having on Wednesday or the loud, like breaking news.
that was happening on Wednesday, it's going to be digested and composted and integrated on Thursday.
And then on Sunday, we have a Venus square Jupiter, which is a really gorgeous signature.
I really love it.
It's Venus in its own sign, Venus and Libra, Square Jupiter in Cancer.
Again, Jupiter is in a sign that it does extraordinarily well in.
Venus is in a sign that it does extraordinarily.
well in. And these two are the good doers, the do-gooders, the bringers of lovely things of the
zodiac. And when they're both in signs that they do really well in, it's really lovely.
It's a square. So it's a little bit of friction. So it's a little bit of like, ooh, we might
overdo it at the party. But I'm okay with that. It's a really good signature to rally people,
to bring them together, to talk about justice, to talk about balance, to talk about peace, to talk about
liberation. You can't have peace without liberation. You can't have peace without justice.
Everyone needs to get fed and have their needs met and have equal rights. That kind of vibe.
It is really good for that. And also, if you are in celebration, if you are in ritual on this day,
if you are honoring your ancestors, if you are doing that kind of ceremony,
that kind of work. It's also just really beautiful because it is about connection, it is about
relationship. And because Jupiter is in cancer, there's something here about family and about lineage,
about healing the lineage in our family, about honoring the lineages of our family, about all of it,
about how we weigh all of that together. And Venus is at the end of Libra here. So I talked about this
last week, but the end of Libra is very much about the consensus of all things. It is very much about
weighing the totality of all things against each other. So when we're looking at the scales of balance
and imbalance and Venus at the end, you know, of these degrees of Libra are going to be very
conscientious and very focused on that. So, you know, it's a good day to make sure that when
you're at the party, you're like, hey, do you guys have a voting plan? Are you all going to the,
how are you voting, if that's part of what your city is up to? Who knows where you are? But certainly
if you're in New York, we will be talking about that at the party, at the ritual, before, after,
during Monday, Tuesday of next week. I'll see you there. I will be on the streets, absolutely,
most likely, asking people if they know where their polling station is. So, it's a
It is a really good time to think about how we get involved as a way to honor the dead, as a way to
honor the lineages we're from, as a way to honor those who came before us that got us everything
that we enjoy now. It's not just by accident. People lived these principles and died by them.
And that should never, ever, ever, ever, ever be taken for granted. And this is a time where we can
really do some of that work spiritually, politically, practically, practically in all ways.
This next question is about how someone can find the right career for them using astrology.
This is the thing about astrology and your chart.
We can answer any question that you have about any single area of your life using your chart.
and this is how you do it. You look at the area of your chart that is concerned with that area of your life.
Every area of your life falls into a different house in your chart. So if you want to look at career,
I want to look at your 10th house and I want to look at your midheaven. I want to understand,
is there any planets around your midheaven? Are there any planets in your 10th house? What sign is your
midheaven in? That's like the, you know, highest point in the sky.
in traditional astrology or in whole sign houses, it can be in a lot of different places.
If you're using Placidus as a house system, it will be your 10th house cusp.
Both are good. Both are helpful. But I want to know what is happening with your mid-heaven.
What sign is it in? Are there any planets that are connected to it?
Then I want to know your 10th house. Are there any planets in there? If not, then I want to look at the sign that your 10th house is
occupied by in is in your 10th house. If you don't have any planets in your 10th house or by your
midheaven, I want to look at the planet or planets that rule these two places or parts of
your chart. So a lot of you will also have your midheaven in your 10th house and it'll be the same
thing. So that makes it easier. So say your 10th house is Scorpio and there's no planets in your 10th
house. We want to look at like, well, how does Scorpio as a sign impact the way you would do a
career? It might be about doing something that is a little bit secret. It might be about doing
something that is about power. It might be about doing something that seems a little bit like
more occult or about the mysteries in life. Those might be some things, just off the top of my
head, something intense, something emotionally cathartic, composting, all of those things.
But I want to see where your Mars is. Your Mars rules your 10th house if it's Scorpio.
Say your 10th house is Pisces, then I want to look at your Jupiter. Your Jupiter rules your 10th
house if your 10th house is Pisces or Saj and so on and so forth. So then you want to see
where that planet is because that planet pulls the 10th house with it.
into the place that it's in. For example, say your Mars, say you have a 10th house at Scorpio,
and your Mars is sitting in your third house. That means it pulls the career into third house
arenas of life. So the third house can be writing. It can be siblings. It can be daily life and
local life and neighborhoods. So what might that look like? Well, it's Mars. I also want to look at the
quality of the planet. Mars is a fighter. Mars is a strategist. Mars is a piercer. Mars is a swordsmith.
Mars works with iron, right? It's the metal. It works with heat. So if you told me that you owned a piercing
shop with your sibling, I'd be like, yes, Mars ruled 10th house in the third house of siblings.
Mars is the piercer, you know, or a tattoo artist or an acupuncturist.
Obviously, I'm just rattling off things. But you're starting to look at like how all of these
different components might work together and facilitate something together, facilitate an answer
for you. I've said this in other places, but the ruler of my 10th house,
is, so if I want to look at career significations, the ruler of my 10th house is in my 11th house.
So I have to do something that is connected to community.
There are also planets in my 10th house.
So I also can go off of those and those planets are about teaching and they're about healing
and they're about all the other stuff that you might associate with some of the work that I do.
And they're about wisdom traditions and all of that philosophy.
But the ruler of my 10th house if I want more information is in my 11th house.
So I have to do something that is within for community.
It's really important to me.
So the work that the company, the Chani app does in association with my wife's nonprofit
free from.org is very, very essential to me because there's a component of my work that
has to give back to community.
We do a lot of mutual aid initiatives through our company and the money goes to survivors of
gender-based violence through the organization Free From.org. You can check it out there. You can check it out on channing.com. But that kind of
community work and mutual aid work is really essential for me for my career. It's not what I do in and of itself.
like I'm known as being an astrologer.
But that's another component.
I have to be working in a way that's helping community or facilitating community or responding
to being part of communal needs.
Like that is essential for me.
And Mars rules my 10th house.
So I'm a little bit of a fighter, you know?
I'm a little bit of a like, well, I'll say the thing that people are going to get mad at me
about.
I also say things that people really like.
So it's not just that.
But, you know, it's not not a part of my situation.
I tend to, you know, take on kind of dicey, what other people might think of as dicey topics or situations in public because I have to.
My 10th house is ruled by Mars.
Like, I've got to be in the fight in some way, shape, or form.
And then there's all this other stuff in my chart that's about healing and, you know, doing all the other things that are like nice and.
lovely and soothing to people. But you're going to meet my Mars if you meet me in public. In some way,
shape, or form, if you meet my work, you're going to feel some of the Mars. That's the edge that I've
got to work with. Anyways, that's just me. We can talk about a million different examples, but what is
the planet that rules your 10th house? I would start there. And then if you have planets in your 10th
house, like, what are those planets? Is your son in the 10th house? Well, that means you're kind of
got to be a celebrity. Like, you got to shine out in the world. Is your Venus?
in the 10th house? Well, that means that you've got to bring through some kind of beauty. You've got to
bring some kind of justice. You've got to bring through some art. You've got to bring through some
creativity. Maybe you're in style. Maybe you're in fashion. Maybe you need to be known for those things.
What sign is it in? Is it Gemini? Do you need to be writing? Do you need to be speaking? Do you need to be
thinking? So you just start to put all these components together. If you have the Chani app, which I hope you do,
I want you to go and read about any planets you have in the 10th house just to start.
I also want you to go and read the description of your midheaven just to start, see if you have any planets near the midheaven or in connection with the midheaven to start.
And then I want you to think about, well, what sign is my 10th house?
What sign is my midheaven?
And then go read about the planets that rule those signs.
Leo is ruled by the sun.
Cancer is ruled by the moon.
Mercury is the ruler of Virgo and of Gemini.
I know I flipped that.
Libra and Taurus are ruled by Venus.
Saj and Pisces are ruled by Jupiter.
And then Capricorn and Aquarius are ruled by Saturn.
So then you just want to go and then read about those planets in your chart.
And those planets have been written in the Chani app in a way that's going to talk about your career.
So once you locate what planet rules your 10th house.
and also rules your mid-heaven, notice that they've been written in a way that most likely
would be like, oh, in the world, in your public life, in your work life, in your career life,
you do ABC.
Okay, yeah, I hope that was helpful.
Come back next week.
We're going to talk about the big, startling astrology and a giant, big old full moon
in tourists that are happening one after the other.
We have a Mars opposing Uranus.
It is an earthquake.
It is a shake-up.
It is a big change that's happening on November 4th.
And then that full moon in Taurus is on November 5th.
So it feels like Tuesday, Wednesday of next week or big days, feels like there's some kind of big thing happening.
So we'll see how it goes.
And we will work as hard as we need to to make sure that justice has a chance in every single area of our life always from now.
until forever. I'm sending you so much love, so many blessings. I hope you have the most
gorgeous weekend, however you celebrate, whatever you celebrate, I hope it is fulfilling. I hope
it is phenomenal. I hope it is honoring of whatever is important in your life. Bye for now.
