Starting point is 00:00:00 If you're listening to this, you did it. We made it. I don't know if we are better or worse for having done so, but the eclipses have happened. There are no more for the next six months. This week promises a little bit of a break. Hello and welcome. This is the Astrology of the Week Ahead podcast. I'm your host and hopeful Astro Bestie, Channie Nicholas. Let's get into this week's astrology. That's what we do here. We're talking about the week of October 7th. So, we just had the last eclipse of eclipse season and the last eclipse that we are going to have in Libra near the South Node for like a couple decades. So we've wrapped something. We've wrapped something. up or we're in the process of wrapping something up. We're probably in that process for sure,
Starting point is 00:01:01 for sure, until we move into Scorpio season. But just to say that the actual events of the eclipses are over is a little bit of a relief. Now, eclipses and their impact will last for a couple of months and the impact of them we don't really fully know until a couple of months out. Some people say like six months for a solar eclipse. It's not like the eclipse happens every day. It's just that the event happens, the eclipse happens. We have to look and see what happened in correlation with the event, what events occurred alongside that astronomical event, and then how do those events get unpacked over the next six months. But we're talking about this week. And this week begins pretty well. I like the beginning of this week.
Starting point is 00:01:58 Now, obviously, this week begins with the date October 7th, which is a very tender date. It is a date that will ring out through all of recorded history because it was a date that began some incredible incredibly, incredibly devastating, demoralizing, horrific times. I talked a lot about that the last couple of weeks in this podcast because I think it's really important to name the things that go on. And I also know like we are in that section of time where we're going to be reflecting back on what has been going on for the past year and for the past eight or so decades in Palestine, in regards to what is occurring in Gaza. I'm recording this in August, so I don't really know what's happening in October except for the astrology.
Starting point is 00:03:01 But I do know that the reverberations of what started in October of 2023 will be felt for the rest of our lives. For sure, for sure. And this being the first anniversary of it, I'm sure the airwaves will just be. a flood with all kinds of sentiments from all the different sides. So barring that and having that in mind and knowing that last week's eclipse was very much connected to that because the first eclipse near the South Node in Libra occurred in October of 2023. And now the last one occurs in October of 24. So that's one of the parameters. That's one of the paradigms that we're looking at this moment through. And then there's just the astrology plain and simple.
Starting point is 00:03:50 And Tuesday, the 8th of October is actually really nice. So that makes me hopeful. That gives me a little bit of a boost. Venus makes a trine to Mars. Very helpful. It's a kind of like get up and go kind of signature in terms of building cohesion. building social connections, building possibly movements, building towards something that we can all get involved with. And on the same day, Mercury makes a very helpful trying to Jupiter. And Jupiter is in Mercury's sign. So this is good. We like this. It's big ideas. It's expansive conversations. And it's enthusiastic engagement in and regarding our dialogue. So it's like, And finally a non-combative moment of dialogue.
Starting point is 00:04:48 I'm not saying it won't change this week, but I'm just saying this moment, the beginning of the week actually has a signature for good, healthy exchanges and mind-opening conversations. And there's something here that's like activating social connection. So I like this. And then on Wednesday, Jupiter stations retrograde. It does so every year. It does so for about five months. It's not a big deal that Jupiter's retrograde per se because it retrogrades for so long.
Starting point is 00:05:23 But Jupiter is in Gemini, which it has a hard time in. And then adding that it's retrograde, it might mean that, well, A, Jupiter's pulling focus in the sky, which, again, I like because Jupiter is the planet of abundance and goodwill and philosophy and what we have faith in. And then on the other side of it, it's in Gemini. It struggles a bit there. So faith and law and courts and morality and goodwill and what we have faith in, we struggle a little bit when Jupiter is in Gemini. Not always. Like, you know, I'm in August of 2024 when I'm recording this and there's a lot of enthusiasm and Jupiter's in Gemini. So it's not like every single day. But when it stations retrograde, it might signal a moment of like a reconfiguring something around those topics. So this might be a time of just like some doubt, some rethinking as Jupiter begins,
Starting point is 00:06:26 its deeper retrograde. And then it's also, we can look at it again in a different way, the part of your chart that contains Gemini gets reviewed, right? Like the placements that are in Gemini that you've got, if Jupiter is going back and forth over them, they get a kind of. couple of connections with Jupiter, which is nice. So I'm never mad at a Jupiter retrograde, to be honest, because it's still Jupiter. It's still going to try to bring about the best possible outcome. It's just that we got to review, like, what is the philosophy we're under? What is the law we're
Starting point is 00:07:01 under? Who's judging this situation? Like, what are the boundaries that we're working within? like what do we all believe in how do we get each other around that central kind of idea or that way of seeing something and again mercury just trined jupiter so there's this feeling of like hold on jupiter's making a point right now so our philosophy our law our courts our way of kind of making a judgment about something what we believe in all of that is being is like is getting pronounced because Jupiter's slowing down. And then Mercury, the translator, the communicator, it's making this trying aspect to it on Tuesday again. So yes, it is like big, bold ideas and conversations that open our mind and that help us to think expansively. And it's also saying, oh, wait, we need to look at this.
Starting point is 00:08:02 We need to look at this thing that Jupiter's doing. Jupiter's slowing down. And so we're having really important conversations right now about, again, law, philosophy, what are the things that we believe in, what do we have faith in, and why in, like, reviewing that a little bit. On Friday, Pluto stations direct, so then we shift to Pluto pulling focus. And the interesting thing is that Mercury then makes a square to Pluto, so then Mercury is translating something challenging about Pluto's stations. Now Pluto's stationing direct in Capricorn. So from the 11th of October to November 19th, these are the last days. This is the last month that Pluto will be in Capricorn in our lifetime. So Pluto's stationing direct is like, okay, what is rotting in our systems of power and what
Starting point is 00:09:03 structures will not hold anymore? So Jupiter is the planet of, faith and law and again like morality if you will what we believe in and Pluto is a planet of power and death rebirth alchemical transformations symbolically and otherwise and as it stations it's like okay I'm just cleaning up this last little piece here because I'm just spending the last couple of weeks in Capricorn that I will for 248 years ish. And so we're closing up a big cycle. You know, you can think of it from 2008 to now. That's Pluto's span of time in Capricorn and its totality. And again, these are the last couple weeks of this transit. The United States has Pluto and Capricorn. So it's going through
Starting point is 00:09:59 its very first Pluto return, which means that we have to reckon with the roots of things. We have to reckon with what is underneath the surface. That's what a Pluto transit is about. It's about saying what is laying underneath? What is subterranean? What has not been dealt with? What do we need to get down to? So the United States is a country is going through that. But also, obviously, in your personal chart, there might be a piece of that, especially if you have something in the late degrees of aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn, like 28, 29 degrees of those signs. And even if you have something at zero degrees of Taurus, Leo, Aquarius, or Scorpio, Pluto will get back into that place at the beginning of November, but, you know, it's a little bit like splitting hairs. It's
Starting point is 00:10:56 right there. So this Pluto Station direct is pooling focus on the structures because it's in Capricorn and the like maybe old traditional structures because that's what Capricorn does. It's like this is traditionally what we do. This is what we always do. And when Pluto comes through this sign, it's a bit of a wrecking ball in a way. Think about what happened in 2008 to our economic structures. Is there something happening at this time that is like rhyming with that or signaling something about that? Sometimes when Pluto pulls focus like this, you'll actually see 2008 in the headlines. or you'll see like a literal resurfacing of something that happened when Pluto first entered this sign. Then on Sunday, again, Mercury is making a square with Pluto.
Starting point is 00:11:49 And so it's translating part of this. So we're going to have conversations about this and conversations that are unearthing something that has been subterranean. So maybe that's on the world stage, sure. And maybe it's in our personal life. Sure. And then Mercury just moves into Scorpio. So it's all depth and it's all intensity. And it's all like, let's cut out the chitter-chatter and the small talk and get right to it. So we just move into that kind of vibe. And also on Sunday, the sun makes a glorious, expansive, jubilant, confidence-boasting, trine to Jupiter. And that's how we end everything. So really, all in all, if I was just,
Starting point is 00:12:32 just going to give you the top level of this week. Tuesday is great conversations and really helpful activation of social connections and social networks and social cohesion. And on Sunday, there's some deep talks and maybe some hard talks and maybe some good talks. And then there's just this boost of energy and boost of confidence and boost of like, we can do it. So I like that. It's good. It's sunny. It's Sunday. It's what we're supposed to do. Have the hard talk feel boosted by your power to do so and by your confidence in your ability to do things that are challenging. It's another way we can look at it. Y'all, thank you so much for continuing to leave us reviews in the app store. It means the world to us. It really changes so much. It really is one of the things that people look to to see if they even.
Starting point is 00:13:32 want to try us out. So for folks that have no idea who we are and what we do here, it just, it makes all the difference. I wanted to leave you with this review. It's called Spot On. I have had the app for many years now, and I love the way the days and weeks and years are captured, the playful yet deep wording and astrology infused with intentions, feelings, thoughts, prompts, and guides. All right, y'all, that's it. That's my read. It's not eclipse season anymore, so good. We don't need to go like so, so, so, so, so deep because we have. And obviously, we will. Come back next week. We've got a surprise for you that actually will land in the app very soon. So check us out at the end of this week at the beginning of next week. We've got something of a gift for you. go. Next week, we've got a full moon in Aries. So I'm sure that'll be calm and chill and no big deal because, you know, Aries doesn't ever want to make a scene or anything. Anyways,
Starting point is 00:14:43 we'll talk about that. Then come back. Until then, take amazing care of yourselves, love up on each other, get together on Tuesday, have cute moments with the people that fill you up and make you feel like anything and everything is possible, because together it actually is. Bye for now.
