Astrology of the Week Ahead with Chani Nicholas - The Week of September 14th, 2026: A relationship deep dive with Venus and Pluto
Episode Date: September 14, 2026Episode 300In this podcast, New York Times best-selling author and astrologer Chani Nicholas discusses the astrology of the week and what it might mean for us all.The astrology of the week of Septembe...r 14th, 2026, gets emotional and intense. When Venus (the planet of love) makes a square to Pluto (the planet of the underworld), we’re asked to peel back the layers of our relationships, confront our deep feelings, and ground into our values. Then Neptune (the planet of dreams) sextiles Pluto, reminding us that our imaginations can help us unlock new ways of relating. And as Chiron (the minor planet of wounds and healing) backtracks into Aries, it highlights the harm of hyperindividualism and encourages us to take our roles as both mentors and mentees seriously. This is the week for cathartic conversations and creative collaborations. Just make sure you honor your boundaries to keep things balanced. This episode covers:The Sun’s sextile to Mars on Monday, September 14thVenus’ square to Pluto on Tuesday, September 15thNeptune’s sextile to Pluto on Tuesday, September 15thChiron’s retrograde into Aries on Thursday, September 17th Mercury’s opposition to Saturn on Friday, September 18thTimestamps:00:00 - Intro02:25 - Preparing for Venus’ retrograde kick-off on October 3rd10:34 - Monday’s Sun–Mars sextile10:50 - Tuesday’s Venus–Pluto square11:28 - Tuesday’s Neptune–Pluto sextile12:28 - Thursday’s Chiron retrograde in Aries ingress14:25 - Friday’s Mercury–Saturn opposition15:38 - Astrology 10121:31 - Weekly wrap-upThis episode was recorded on 08/05/2026.For more, check out your free daily horoscope on the homepage of the CHANI app — now on iOS and Android.Looking for an astrological map, compass, and companion for the coming year? Listener, bestie. In the last episode last week, I started the podcast off by saying,
what relationship dynamics are irking you? Which ones are coming up for review? Which ones seem to be
really persistent and really loud and in your face? Or what feels like, almost like a deja vu? Like,
did this happen already? Did I dream about this? Why am I running into all of these people from my
past. There's something here that we're starting to circle around or that we know we're going to
have to encounter again in our relationships. And all of that is heightened this week. Hello and
welcome. This is the astrology of the week ahead podcast. I'm your astro bestie,
Channing Nicholas. In this episode, we are talking about the astrology for the week of September
14th. Okay, there's nothing major. Like the big, big, big, big, big, big astrology of August
is starting to fade. And next week, when the sun moves into Libra, when we move to the equinox,
oh my God, it's already the equinox next week, we move into the equinox. We're definitely
away from eclipse season. The last eclipse happened while the sun was still in Virgo. The sun is still in
so we're technically like still in it, but we're kind of like in this in between zone from one
big astrological moment and moments that happened in August like game changing huge to other ones
that are going to start to happen in the beginning of October. September is like a little bit of a
breather to be honest. I don't know what's happening. I am recording this in the beginning of August
before all of the eclipses occur. So I don't even know what happened.
during eclipse season. I mean, I'm definitely seeing some, a lot of, okay, that is going to be
changing and that's a huge shift and all of a sudden these things are falling apart and it is
very much blowing up in people's faces and there's a lot of flamboyance. But I'm sure there's
going to be more. And September, this week in September, there's like a couple things that happen.
They're not game changing. They're not life altering. I don't think. But I'm
I know that by October 3rd, when Venus stations retrograde in Scorpio, we are in it.
We are in the underworld.
We are in the underground.
We are going into the depths of our relationship issues.
You better believe it.
And I know that a lot of the foretelling of that work is already happening now.
Why?
Because Venus is in the sign that it's going to station retrograde in.
It's in a place that it's going to retrograde back to.
And this week, on Tuesday, Venus in the intense and deep and cathartic sign of Scorpio is going to square Pluto,
the planet of the underworld.
So I know that our relationship agenda, our relationship curriculum, is really intense this week.
I know that the things that are going to go on in our relationships this week, so says the script.
of the sky is going to be kind of dramatic. And it's definitely going to take us into a process of
catharsis. Now, when we go into these kinds of moments, we want to be like, all right,
what is it that I need to strip down? What do I need to strip away? Like, what is real and what is just
superfluous? What is the truth? What is the truth?
truth that I need to get down to underneath all of these feelings. What is just below the surface?
What is like just if I was going to scratch the, it would be right there. You know, like, what is that
raw feeling? There's a hunger and a desire to Scorpio. And Venus is a planet of values and
relationships. And when our relationships go through difficult moments, we have to ask ourselves,
like, what do I value? What do I value in this relationship? Do they, the people that I'm in
relationship with, value the same thing? And can that values alignment see us through this turbulent
moment? What are the skills I need to develop in order to contend with these really
deeply hidden, subterranean, and sometimes overwhelming feelings because Venus gets into the heart
of a situation. Venus is about our relationships. So anything that happens that feels challenging
to our relationships also feels threatening to our life and to our existence because we need each
other. We are interdependent creatures and species and whether or not we buy into the self-aggrandizing
you know, version of me being exceptional and I can do this all on my own individualistic culture
or not. The fact is that when my relationships are threatened, I'm threatened. And when I have to go
and excavate the meaning of a situation in a relationship, it is destabilizing. But it's
supposed to be because we can't actually get down to the truth of the matter without destabilizing
the ground that we are on. We have to kind of like break the surface of things and be like,
what's under there? So Venus is right now in a Mars ruled sign. Mars is a planet that cuts. It severs,
but it also makes an incision. And because Pluto and Venus,
are coming together in this agitated state, we know that we are being asked to go into the depths
of a dynamic. And because we're headed towards a Venus retrograde that begins and spends a long time
in Scorpio, we know that we are going to be mining the depths for a while. So this is an invitation.
This is the first of many invitations to be like, okay, what goes on underneath here?
And I think we could boil down a lot of our problems, like the world's problems, obviously,
and our own personal problems to our relationship dynamics.
Or we could say if we were to work through our relationship dynamics, we would solve a lot of our problems
because all of it shows up in our relationships because life is just about relationships.
That's the entire meaning of life.
And so all the stuff that comes up in friendships, in our teams, in our group chats, in our organizations, in our workplaces, in our congregations, in our unions, in our anything that we do with groups of other people in our organizing, that's telling of what is happening both on a personal level for us in other areas of our life, but also, of course, on a society.
at a level. As I say here, every single podcast, we live inside systems of supremacy.
And so the origin point for our relationships is a system that is so deeply violent and flawed
and untenable, right? We cannot, like, supremacy cannot be maintained forever. It will topple.
It is not a model, obviously, of collaboration. Collaboration.
collaboration and community can last forever. And if it has an ability to ward off the threats to
it, it's something that can thrive and go on and on and on and on. But supremacy can't. It will
always be toppled. It just will. It always will come to an end. And so this unearthing that's
happening this week and into many weeks into the future, I'm telling you, we are going deep into
this is going to help us to see a lot of that, how we've internalized the harmful systems we live
within, how the injustices we live within, have been brought internally into our relationship
with self and with other. And then also how to interrupt that, how to dismantle it, how to do
relationships differently. I actually really want us to meditate on that question for this week
and into the next many weeks, how do we want to do relationships differently?
If you were going to imagine the best outcome for any relationship, but especially for
difficult relationship dynamics, what would the best outcome be?
Like, given that you are who you are and they are who they are and the situation is what it is,
and yes, things can change and transform, what would, in this reality, what would the best or most
ideal outcome be given the situation, given the dynamic, given the players involved?
I think it's an important exercise to just float around for the next couple of weeks because we are
going to be doing this deep dive process into our relationship dynamics.
And we're only just getting going now.
Like, October is going to be wild, y'all. November is going to be wild. But October especially so,
because that is when Venus is going to be retrograde through Scorpio for three and some weeks.
And that is going to be deep, deep, deep, deep, deep. And so we want to move into that process as sturdy as possible and as like ahead of the game as we can be.
All right. So on Monday, the sun makes a sex style with Mars. Lovely. Great. Energizing. Let's go, go, go. Let's get some things done. Let's be efficient. Let's move the pieces we can move. Simple, small, quick astrology.
Tuesday, Venus in Scorpio, scores Pluto in Aquarius. This is activating our relationship issues and dramas and all of the things that get us to look at.
our core wounds in terms of belonging, feeling disconnected, wanting to reconnect, and all of the things
that we need to process in order to get back onto a kind of equal footing. How do we reset the
scales in our relationships? What are the power dynamics that feel kind of off? Also on Tuesday,
big, big, big astrology happens. And I know I said that big astrology wasn't.
happening right now. But it's kind of like it's so out there that it's hard to feel it in our
everyday lives, I think. Neptune, the planet of dreams and illusions and fantasies is making
a sex style with Pluto. Again, planet of the underworld. And so this is a time to really
understand how transformative and how powerful our imagination is. And that systems of supremacy
and especially like settler colonialism,
want us to be doom scrolling and disaster fantasizing always
because they have such a puny, tiny little imagination
where it's like, I win and everybody else loses.
And if we can imagine ourselves out of that,
it's a massive threat to them and it's also how we'll win.
So that's also what I am encouraging us to do on Tuesday.
On Thursday, Chiron retrogrades back into Aries.
It's been in Taurus for a couple of months, like very short time.
But now it's going to go back into Aries and finish up its transit there.
The part of your chart that contains Aries is going to get one final little visit from
Kairon not to return again for many, many decades.
So this is a finishing up process that you began about seven-ish-ish.
years ago, go listen to your reading for more on what this means for you. I do you think that
Chiron in Ares is about the woundedness that individualism actually does create. And it's
something that is ever apparent and has been ever more apparent over the last like seven,
eight years. And this might be another articulation of that, this last pass through this sign.
It's also, though, about the medicine of courage and taking necessary action because
Kyran is both the wound and it is also the medicine.
It's also the healer.
It's also the teacher and the mentor.
So how are we being asked to grow ourselves into a mentorship role and how are we being
asked to be really good mentees?
Like, how are you somebody's student?
shouldn't we always be someone's student and somebody's mentor, somebody's mentee and somebody's
mentor? Shouldn't we be in like a chain that is like that? Like if you're a couple years older
than someone, you can teach them how to ride a bike. But if someone's a couple years older than you,
they can teach you how to help your parents wash the dishes or something like that. You know,
like shouldn't we always be in this exchange of knowledge depending on where we are? And we keep
upgrading how we're exchanging knowledge as we grow. And then on Friday, we get a yes or a no. We get a
clear, distinct answer. We might also feel like we're hitting a little bit of a wall. Like Friday,
we might be like, I'm done. I don't want to go back to school. I don't want to be back at school.
I don't want to be back at work. I don't necessarily want a clip season, but maybe I want to go back
to the summertime. Friday, we're like, I'm out. I'm out of office early. I'm out for the weekend.
And don't talk to me. Mercury makes an opposition to Saturn. But we also get clarity, right?
Every time that Mercury and Saturn come together, we get some sort of clear articulation.
This is the blueprint. This is the wall. This is the obstacle. This is the yes. This is the no. This is the door.
It's locked. What are you going to do now? Like it's a vibe like, this is final. This is set.
what is the situation that you're contending with at the end of the week that is like,
okay, that's a limit, that's a boundary, how am I going to make that work for me?
How am I going to be like, okay, I'll respect it and put my phone down or maybe toss it into
the sea and just be in vibes, just be viving, just vibes.
All right, y'all, now it's time for a question from the audience.
Hey, Tannie.
I have some friends who are adopted and they don't know.
the time of their birth. How can I make sure that they're included in astrological birth chart readings?
Thank you. Okay, this is a really important question. Astrology is not an accessible craft
necessarily. It has a price of entry that is not fair and it is not equitable because many people,
whether they're adopted or not, don't know their time of birth. And so a lot of people struggle with
this situation with this problem because they want to know more about their astrology,
but how are they ever going to be able to know?
Like maybe people were born where there were no hospitals.
Maybe no one was paying attention to the time of day.
Maybe the people that brought them into the world or that raised them are no longer here.
Maybe they're adopted.
So this is what you can do.
If you know your day of birth, you can always use your sun sign as your rising sign and just
set your Chani app or your chart to sunrise of that day. And you can see the chart through the lens
of your sun. That's a more consistent thing to do or that's a, that's something you can do that's
going to be a little bit more accurate than trying to use your moon for this reason. If your moon is
at the very beginning of a sign or at the very end of a sign, you could actually have the moon
in a different sign because the moon changes signs every two and a half days. So you could be born
on a day when the moon is changing signs. And so you don't want to hang your whole reading off
of the moon if it's at the beginning or the end of a sign if you don't know your time of birth,
because then you're not sure if that's actually your moon. So that's one thing you can do. You can
always put sunrise in to the app or whatever program you're using to,
see your chart through the lens of your sun's sign. The thing that you can do that takes more
money, time, and energy from you is you can go to an astrologer that does something called
rectification. And they are going to take you through a series of questions and a series of trial
and error attempts at figuring out what they think is your birth time. This is, of course,
something that cannot be proved, it cannot be tested, because if you really don't know anything
about your time of birth, but you're very sure about your day of birth, how can you ever really know?
But if you find an astrologer who's really good at rectification, nine times out of 10,
it's going to be so incredibly helpful. My only plea is to make sure that you're basing the rectification
is that you're working with an astrologer who's asking you about events in your life more than your
persona. Because if we're really looking at the timing of events, that is how I think, in my
personal opinion, we're going to get a more accurate understanding of what your time of birth might be.
Because then it's less about a personality test and more about literal times, literal events,
that would have definitely lined up with a major astrological transit in your chart.
Unfortunately, I don't have any astrologers that I can recommend to you that do rectification,
but what I would do is I would like get online, get on social media apps,
whatever ones you use and be like, hey, does anybody know of an amazing astrologer who does
this thing called rectification who finds people's times of birth?
again, it costs money and it takes time and it takes effort. So there's a barrier to entry. So if that doesn't
work for you, please use your son sign if you know your day of birth. That is something that
people also struggle with. Like they might not know the exact day that they were born. And so that
leads to more questions and more research and more need for time to kind of parse through what might be
your actual birthday and time and location.
Thank you so much for the question.
Thank you all so much for joining me on any or all of these podcasts.
I love this community.
I thank you so much for spreading the news about it.
Thank you for sending it to your friends.

All right, y'all. Come back next week. We have a big old full
moon in Ares. It's an equinox moon. We have the equinox and then the full moon. These are big weeks
when we have a change of season, sun entering a new sign, and then either a full or new moon,
really close to that change. It's going to be really potent and really powerful. So come back
and we'll talk about that. And the fact that there's only one quarter of the year left, y'all,
like TikTok is, I thought it was May. Wasn't it just May? What's going on?
I just, I can't even believe it's the Equinox.
Again, what do you want to get done in the next quarter?
What do you want to experience?
How do you want to live out this next season?
Let's talk about it next week.
Sending you so much love, many blessings.
Bye for now.
