Astrology of the Week Ahead with Chani Nicholas - The Week of September 26th, 2022: The New Moon in Libra occurs, Venus enters Libra, and Mercury stations direct opposite Neptune
Episode Date: September 26, 2022In this podcast, New York Times bestselling author and astrologer Chani Nicholas discusses the astrology of the week and what it might mean for us all. The astrology of the week of September 26th, 202...2, brings a mix of clarity and conundrum. On Monday, the New Moon in Libra occurs opposite Jupiter, ushering in a beautiful new beginning in the part of your chart that contains the scales. On Thursday, Venus enters its home sign of Libra, inviting ease into our relationships, and then on Saturday, it goes on to oppose Jupiter, initiating an appetite for beauty, parties, and good times. To close out the week, Mercury stations direct in an opposition to Neptune. While the end of Mercury’s retrograde is usually a relief, here, the planet of communication pulls focus on confusion and illusion. So things could get messy — and topsy-turvy. But if we work with the rest of the astrology, it can help us through with a little more grace. Okay, y'all, the TLDR of this week is that it begins with a new moon in Libra that is gorgeous.
It is big picture.
It is filled with confidence and abundance.
It is a great new moon to work with in some specific ways, which we'll get to in a second.
And at the end of the week, we have Mercury stationing direct in a very messy situation.
So we begin the week with something quite positive with a new beginning and with a lot of energy for that new beginning to take place.
And then we end the week in a little bit of a conundrum.
Because this Mercury Station Direct might be the hardest moment of the Mercury retrograde in general.
So yes, Mercury is stationing direct.
Yes, this is good news.
And yes, it's complicated.
It's more complicated than that.
Hello and welcome.
This is the Astrology of the Week Ahead podcast, and I am your host, Chani, Nicholas.
In this podcast, we look at the astrology of the upcoming week and how it will be landing for all of us collectively.
For a more personalized reading that dives into the ways that this week's astrology will play out
you. Download the Chani app for iPhone. Okay, let's talk about this astrology beat by beat.
On Sunday, the 25th of September, the new moon occurs. And it occurs at 255 p.m. Pacific time,
which is why I'm mentioning it now, because our content switches out at noon Pacific time on Sundays.
So we wanted to make sure we talked about this new moon because it is.
so good. So if you're like in Australia, this is happening on Monday morning. So 255 p.m. Pacific
Time. Do the math for your time zone. But just know that this is a new moon that is happening in an
opposition with Jupiter, which makes it a very plentiful new beginning in the part of your chart
that contains Libra. We go into what this.
means for you in great detail in your reading for this week. But just to note that this is a new moon
that is so good for implementing a change because this is happening in a cardinal sign, Libra,
it is a sign that knows how to initiate new things. And it is a new moon. So this is a great time
to feel like you have the permission to do something.
different or to do something that you do a lot, but to do it in a new way.
Bearing in mind that Mercury is still very much retrograde.
So it's a six in one, half dozen in the other.
This is a great new moon to work with.
And Mercury is in a moment where it is slow, slow, slow.
So it's still got some pretty hefty review to do.
So it's not like we want to begin the biggest thing of our life this week, but it is a really good new moon to work with if we want to make some kind of change.
Then on Monday, September 26th, we have two really positive things happening.
So Venus and Jupiter are the good doers of the zodiac.
They are the planets that bring about beauty and abundance and relationship and connection and all good things.
Mercury and Venus, Mercury is retrograde.
Mercury and Venus are making a conjunction in Virgo.
And the sun and Jupiter are making that exact opposition.
So it feels like we're reviewing something, some kind of relationship dynamic.
Mercury's backed up into Venus and Venus has moved forward into Mercury retrograde.
and they're having a conversation about the details and minutia of what makes connection possible.
And then the sun and Jupiter are in this opposition, which really bolsters confidence.
So it's interesting because it's kind of like there is a focus on the micro, that's the Mercury Venus and Virgo moment,
and at the same time, a focus on the macro.
that's the sun, Jupiter moment. And what it reminds me of or what it makes me think of is the need
for both in all of our relationships and in every aspect of our life. We need to know what we
individually need, what's going on for us individually, as well as keeping the big picture in mind.
And so it feels like on the heels of that new moon, we get.
get this really beautiful moment that helps us to focus on the small things that bring us
pleasure and beauty and connection while still feeling a connection to or a relationship with
the whole or the bigger picture. And a reminder of why both are important. We are in Libra season.
This moment is all about balance. That's just Monday. So Tuesday,
We've got Mercury still retrograde making a very helpful, empowering trine to Pluto,
and Mars in Gemini making a really helpful trine to Saturn.
Mercury, Trine Pluto is excellent for excavating the truth,
for digging deep into a subject, for getting to the bottom of things with some ease.
And Mars, Trine Saturn,
is excellent at understanding how to take our energy and our drive and focus it towards a long-term goal.
How do we take that anger?
How do we take our rage?
How do we take our frustration and channel it towards something that is going to eventually help to change the structures?
that are so unjust in our society.
That's one way we could interpret the Mars-Sahdern moment.
And then on the 29th on Thursday, Venus enters Libra, which is its home sign.
Venus loves to be in Libra.
This is a kind of glorious moment for the planet of connection and beauty and pleasure and art.
and connection.
So Venus will be in Libra from September 29th through to October 23rd.
And this is a special little pocket of time.
It's going to carry us right into the next eclipse season.
It's going to give us an incredibly potent Venus Kazimi, where Venus and the sun come together.
So I'd love for you to mark down October 20th.
as a very important day for art and beauty and culture building and relationship building and
romance and romance anyone in anything in your life. And you can use that day to woo whatever
project person experience in life that you hope to live out. Okay. So that's Venus in Libra.
It promotes a greater ease in regards to our relationships. And it promotes a
greater sense of connection in our life. So we can work with these next couple of weeks to be like,
where is it easy, what relationships work, where do I find balance between self and other?
Then on Saturday, October 1st, we are officially in spooky season. We have a Venus opposing
Jupiter. This is a huge appetite.
for a party, for social connections, for beauty, for pleasure, for love, for romance, for good
times. Venus and Jupiter together want to have a good time. In an opposition, there's not necessarily
a lot of perspective when you're in an opposition with Jupiter. Jupiter's like, do more. It'll be
better. Have more. It'll be great. If you like it a little bit, have a lot of it. So we might
overdue, but, you know, that's part of the process of coming back into balance is going to an
extreme every once in a while. Just bear in mind that on October 2nd, on Sunday, October 2nd,
Mercury is stationing direct. Like I said in the beginning of this, yeah, that's good news. That's great.
We love Mercury stationing direct. This is the thing. When a planet stations direct,
it's in a moment where it is going super slow, right? So the planet is moving super slow. So it pulls focus.
And as it's stationing direct, the things that it stands for, so communication, sales, getting the message across, clarity, directions, etc., are heightened. All of those subjects are heightened.
The problem is that this Mercury Retrograde is stationing direct in an opposition to Neptune.
It's not exact, but it's within a very close range.
And so it feels extra.
And the confusion of Mercury Retrograde feels a little bit more potent now.
And it remains such for the next couple of days.
So yes, Mercury is direct, but I just want you to like keep a little cocky
on board. Remember things, you know, are actually larger than they appear in the rearview mirror.
And not everything has worked itself out yet. We actually have a kind of fogginess around until October 10th,
although it will lessen every day, I think, from the second to the 10th. So this first, second,
third, fourth, fifth of October, still be like with your Mercury retrograde frame of mind on.
Double, triple check your data. Make sure your bases are covered, et cetera.
Thank you all so much for leaving reviews in the app store. They help us. They mean the world to us.
I wanted to share one with you by Monica Bonica Fonica.
In a world where everything feels a little more haywire upside down.

major or otherwise.
Thank you for keeping us sane.
We owe you Chani and team for blessing us and translating the stars for us.
And finally, the graphics.
Could they be any more gorgeous?
I really don't think so.
you all. All right, y'all, that is the rundown for the week. There's a lot of good stuff to work
with here, like a lot. And Mercury retrograde mayhem is thrown in the mix. So we will take the good
with the weird and we will find a way to work it out. If you are a subscriber to the Chani app,
we have a new moon ritual, altar suggestions, journal prompts and guided meditation for you.
many lots of love and many new moon blessings.
