Starting point is 00:00:00 Three things about this week. One, we get a little bit of a break. Two, we're going to have some really important, helpful, cheerleading conversations midweek. And three, we're going to work on a relationship issue or two. Hello and welcome. This is the astrology of the week ahead podcast. I'm your host, your Astro Bestie Channy Nicholas. In this episode, we are talking about the astrology for the week of September 29th. All right, y'all, I want you to go back and I want you to think about who you were, what you were doing, what was going on, how you were approaching an issue at the end of August, just one month ago. And I want you to think about all the things that have transpired over September. What kind of month was it? How active was it? What did it teach you to let go of? What
Starting point is 00:00:58 did it teach you to welcome in? What did it teach you that you were hungry for? What did it teach you you you were desiring? What did it teach you about being in the flow of the moment, allowing things to come in and then also allowing things to go out? What began, what ended. September was our eclipse season. We had an eclipse September 7th and September 21st. Now it's over. The sun has changed signs. we are no longer in eclipse season, and we are departing from September as a month in and of itself. Not that that has anything to do with the astrology, but because we see things in months and we agree on that time frame, however ridiculous it is, we can think about what was I doing the end of August?
Starting point is 00:01:45 How was I moving through the world? What was I thinking about? How was I, again, viewing a problem or an opportunity or my life or my situation? What has changed? What did eclipse season teach me? What did it move from me? What did it get unstuck? What did it help me to realize I was not taking seriously enough?
Starting point is 00:02:08 This week, only two things happen. Midweek, we have Mercury, Planet of Communication, talking to Jupiter, planet of opportunity and wisdom and justice. Mercury is in the sign of the scales. Mercury is in Libra, it very much wants to talk about what is fair. You might notice that this week you're having conversations about what is fair and what is unfair, what is just, what is unjust, what is liberation and what is anything but liberation. This week is steeped in political jargon, conversations, and ways of viewing the world. Very important for us to see how we are
Starting point is 00:02:53 framing everything. And I think this week wants us. to have those kinds of conversations. And then in general, this week brings you some cheerleading. This week wants to encourage the best ideas to come forth. This week is all about saying, yes, totally. Oh my gosh, yes. And we can also do this. We can do that.
Starting point is 00:03:15 And this will be so good. This is a very encouraging week. So take note of who is encouraging you. Who cheerleads you? Like who eggs you on for better? and worse. And who is never really trying to hype you up? And why? Why is that? Who do you hype up? And who do you not? And why? Why is that? Is there some kind of good message that you need to put out on Wednesday? Is there something that you need to talk about that is really optimistic on Wednesday? Please tell us, we need it. What is the good news that you are
Starting point is 00:03:51 part of bringing? Or what is the good news that you're receiving midweek? What is the good news? we're hearing. Now, this is a square. So this is a moment of friction, but it does create action. So Mercury only ever translates whatever it is in touch with. When Mercury is in touch with Jupiter, it goes big. The ideas are big. The concepts are big. There's a lot of excitement in terms of what we're thinking about. It's not always the most grounded. But because Jupiter is in such a good sign right now, because Jupiter is in cancer, these are conversations about, again, justice and balance. What is fair? What is unfair? And how do we get everybody fed? How do we get everybody nurtured and nourished? What is it that everybody needs in order to be able to exist,
Starting point is 00:04:37 to live, to thrive, really? So these are important conversations in terms of what it is we are wanting to tend to or who it is we're wanting to tend to. So take note of who says what to you this week, how they say it, when they say it, what they're saying, take note of what you can say midweek to encourage the best of everyone involved to come forth. That is so important. We are all always, I know you're not going to hate this word because I do too now, influencing each other. We really are. Go to dinner with somebody and they, you know, tell you a story that sticks with you that makes you feel something. Then all of a sudden you're retelling it all week. What are the stories that we're telling?
Starting point is 00:05:24 telling each other? What are the stories we're telling ourselves? Are they encouraging of the best of us to come forth to change the situation that we're in if we don't like it? I don't know about you, but there's a lot of things that I'd like to change right about now. And so what are the stories we're telling that can encourage the best most effective change and the best of us to come forth? Then on Saturday, Venus, now in Virgo, meaning relationship issues, but also enjoying ourselves might be a little bit more of a struggle than it is normally. Venus is a planet of pleasure. And in Virgo, Venus is what we call fallen. And so pleasures and joys and sweetness and connection aren't centered necessarily
Starting point is 00:06:19 with Venus in Virgo. Because Venus in Virgo is focused on. working, on getting it right, on figuring out how to do the thing. In Virgo, any planet is going to be more focused on critiquing what isn't working and on systematizing everything, which to Venus is very joyful with Venus and Virgo to categorize everything and systemize everything and correct things and make sure that everything is in its place. That is joyful to Venus and Virgo. Might not be everybody else. But if you have Venus and Virgo, there's a way in which making sure that everything is working is actually fun and can be quite joyous. It's about how streamlined everything can be so that everything is efficient. That is what is beautiful. I'm thinking about nature and you look
Starting point is 00:07:18 at the ways in which something functions like a tree and a certain type of ant. And and a certain type of fungus and a certain type of mushroom and a certain type of bird and a certain type of squirrel and how they're all part of a system ecosystem, how they all work together. That is eloquence. That is beauty. That is magic. That is nature. That is Virgo.
Starting point is 00:07:42 So Venus and Virgo really loves to focus on the details. Venus coming up to the South Node, the South Node is an emptying out point. So it is a need to let go of perfection that is not serving us. it is good to honor the systems that help us do our work in the best way possible. It's not good to value perfection. Like there is a symmetry and there is a kind of perfection in nature, right? Because everything has its place. But everything's also odd and unique and strange and wonderful and, you know,
Starting point is 00:08:19 nothing's about getting it right. It's about knowing one's purpose and being. in the purpose and doing one's function and doing one's purpose. Like mushrooms are not peacocks. They're mushrooms. They do their mushroom thing. Peacocks are not elephants. They do their peacock thing. So when Virgo goes over towards wanting everything to be perfect or trying to make everything perfect, that's when there's a type of malfunctioning happening. Because we can aim towards a beautiful ecosystem where everything has a place and everything's working and everything is humming along. But perfectionism is a different thing. Perfectionism is, we could say, white supremacy.
Starting point is 00:09:02 Perfectionism is a tool to keep us down. Perfectionism is not real. There's nothing that is like perfect in that sense or it's not supposed to be sterile and clinical and perfect in a way that there is no edge to it and there's no grain to it. So Venus and Virgo can, want perfectionism from each other. And I think that that's what gets in the way of a lot of our movements. It gets in a way of a lot of our communities. It gets in a way of a lot of our building of power with each other is when we're trying to make sure that everybody we're organizing with or everybody we're at the party with or everybody we're at the action with is doing things perfectly. It's not going to happen. And that's not reflective of nature and that's
Starting point is 00:09:47 not a reality. That is a policing of each other and ultimately of ourselves, most likely. And so Venus and Virgo can stand for this or can symbolize this desire to have everything right and controlled and perfect in a relationship or in terms of our relationships or in terms of our ability to build with each other as friends, as colleagues, as comrades, as whatever we are to each other. And so Venus moving towards the South node, I think is an opportunity for us on one level to remember that we're never going to build power together if we're expecting everybody to show up in the way that we think they should show up in the way that we think is perfect, because that's only our own idea, to say things in the perfect way, to act in the perfect
Starting point is 00:10:39 way to be all homogenous, to be all the same thing. That's boring. I don't want a movement like that. I don't want a life like that. I don't want a community like that. But in order for us to have a kind of solidarity, which is what Venus stands for, it's about union and togetherness, in order for us to do that, we have to be really okay with people annoying us, with people saying absurd things, with people doing things that you're like, why do you, oh my God, I cannot believe. with people like getting under our skin, with people exasperating us, with people showing up in their peopledom. And people is us, too.
Starting point is 00:11:16 People is me. People is you. So we're going to be annoying. We're going to be wrong. They're going to be annoying. They're going to be wrong. And all of that has to be okay. We have to let go of needing people to be exactly as we think they should be.
Starting point is 00:11:29 I'm not saying we let go of all standards and that we, you know, don't address things that are dangerous and harmful and all of that. I'm not saying that. I'm saying that in order for us to really do anything in this world, to make a move, to gather each other, to move towards something that could be just because Venus is the ruler of the scales, is the ruler of Libra, we have to let go of the desire for ourselves or anybody else to show up in the perfect way. because Venus is in a sign of its fall and it's near the South node, the red flag for me in this week,
Starting point is 00:12:12 collectively speaking, is anything to do with women's issues, queer folks, trans folks, etc. Anybody who's marginalized because of their gender under patriarchy, because Venus is already in this fallen role and then near the South node, there is this like signature of like, oh, God, what's going to happen? this week with us, you know, with all of us. What's the thing? And then also, again, encouragingly, what is the thing that's going to happen between us all that's like, okay, we're not perfect, but we're ready. We're not perfect, but we are what we've got. We're not perfect, but here we are together and we're going to do this messy and perfect, beautiful, gorgeous
Starting point is 00:12:56 thing that is going to remind us how lucky we are to have one another. this week I wanted to answer the question. This is really a question that somebody wrote in with. I have Venus and Virgo. Does that mean that all the good Venus transits are going to be days where I am unlucky? No. Who told you that? Why would you think that? There's no such thing as being unlucky. There might be such a thing as being lucky, though. But look, you can take my chart as an example. I don't have any planets in their rulerships. I don't have any planets in the signs that they rule. I don't have any planets. in the signs of their exaltation. I do have planets in their fall. I do have planets in their exile.
Starting point is 00:13:41 So I don't have any of the like, quote unquote, good lucky signatures. And I do have quite a bit of the hard ones. And this is what I know. And I have three planets in signs that they struggle in out of seven traditional planets. Okay. So that's a lot. That's almost half of my planets are in signs that they struggle in. Did I struggle a lot in my life? Yeah, I did. I wouldn't wish my childhood on anybody. And I'm very grateful for everything that I've been through and I've learned. And it has made me the person that I am. And I know how to do things that I wouldn't have to have done if I would have had a different life and all those things. I am strong. I am like independent. I can do a lot of stuff because of what I lived through. But it wasn't fun. And,
Starting point is 00:14:29 And is that because I have planets in their fall and in their detriment? No. But it does symbolize a struggle. And so my chart is very emblematic of the things that I have personally struggled through and struggled with. And yet, I've also gotten myself here. And I've also seen people with a lot of planets in their best signs, right? In their domicile, in their exaltation. I've seen people with all the good things. And it doesn't mean that they do anything with it. And it doesn't mean that they're happy. In fact, some of the people that I know that struggle the most
Starting point is 00:15:09 have some of the best planetary, some of the luckiest signatures that you can have. So it's not a one-to-one. So I just want to say that. And then if you have Venus and Virgo and there's a good Venus thing that's happening in the sky, it doesn't really have anything to do with your Venus, unless it's literally aspecting it.
Starting point is 00:15:30 So they're actually not equated, if that makes sense. Unless you're like a Libre rising or a Taurus rising, then what Venus is doing in the sky impacts you because of where it's happening in your chart or what planets it's connected to. But because you have this Venus and that Venus in the sky is doing this other thing, they don't mean anything to each other unless they're literally connected, unless they're in like an aspect to one another, unless they're in a sign-based relationship.
Starting point is 00:16:00 So just know that, that your Venus and Virgo is a gateway to gorgeousness if you can stop criticizing yourself and all the people that you're in relationships with, which is not not a tall order. And we all do that because it's a human thing to do, but Venus and Virgo really, really, really, really, really does it. And if you can curb that, you can bring that all the way down, then a lot is available to you. You can get a lot of work done and you can create so many beautiful things.
Starting point is 00:16:33 Venus and Virgo is a crafter. It's a crafter of language and a crafter of academia and a crafter of knowledge and a crafter of wisdom and a crafter of gorgeousness because it's so concerned with the details and it's so dedicated to doing something that is of service and that is of use to other people. And that is beautiful. That really, really is. It's such a gift. So please honor your Venus and Virgo.
Starting point is 00:17:01 She's really like on your side and working and working and working. And to remind that part of yourself that works so hard and is so dedicated to doing things that are going to be of use in the world, just remind that part that that part also deserves rest and love and appreciation. All right. I will see you back here next week. do you know what happens next week? On Monday of all days, there's a full moon in Aries. Yikes, youch. Like, oh my God, that is big. It is prominent. It is loud. So also for you to know, at the end of this week,
Starting point is 00:17:39 we're just moving into a full moon. So you're going to start to feel the swell that's happening at the end of the week, like over the weekend, things could get pretty heightened and dramatic and loud and wild because a full moon in Aries is going to be. be very like in our face. It's very bold. It's very direct. And that's what's going to occur on Monday. So come back and we'll talk about that and more. Bye for now.
