Starting point is 00:00:00 Three things about this week. A of all, we're going to feel a little disoriented at the beginning of it. B, or number two, we are going to get some major, major clarity. Like, everything is going to be okay kind of news. And three, or C, we're going to get some good news. There is going to be a message that is going to cheer us on this week. Hello and welcome. This is the Astrology of the Week Ahead podcast. I'm your host, Chani Nicholas, your Astro Bestie. And in this episode, we are talking about the week of September 8th.
Starting point is 00:00:47 Y'all, we are in between eclipses. Okay? We are in between major jumpstarts. Last week there was an eclipse, actually on September 6th. 7th, there was an eclipse. So if you're listening to this on September 8th, then you are, you know, fully charged with eclipse energy. Some of you will be listening to this on September 7th if you're on the Chani app. So you might be listening to this in the midst of the eclipse. Eclipses are very exciting, electrifying wild card kinds of times. The exciting part isn't
Starting point is 00:01:24 always good. Sometimes it's really good. Sometimes it's really emotional, especially when it's a total lunar eclipse in Pisces, which is what happened on September 7th. And as we begin this week, we know we're beginning it on the heels of a full moon slash full moon that was a lunar eclipse. So we might feel a little disoriented. We might be a little like I slept for 12 hours, but I feel like I slept for two, or I didn't sleep at all and I feel wired, or I just feel different than I usually do. So if you're a little groggy at the beginning of the week, yes, please take care of yourself as always. And if you feel a little wired in a way that is unsettling or ungrounded, take note of that. The energy is not going to last
Starting point is 00:02:18 forever. These energy surges have a tendency to also crash. So just know, like, okay, if I'm wired in one way or if I'm uninspired in another way, it will change quickly enough. It's just this kind of extreme moment coming off of a full moon slash a total lunar eclipse on Sunday the 7th of September. There was a total lunar eclipse. So again, that is like big news. And it generally tends to reveal something that we have been harboring in our are unconscious. So sometimes we're startled by ourselves. It's not even like the world or life events have to start a lot. Sometimes we scare ourselves just by noticing our own shadow, kind of literally. So we're starting the week in a moment like, okay, we've already peaked,
Starting point is 00:03:15 right? We are starting in a place where we're not necessarily as energized as we are when we're going up the ramp, we're coming down from the ramp. So just to know that. And also, this week holds within it a very, very important and clarifying message for us. So on Wednesday, what happens is the sun and the south node come together. The sun is right now in Virgo. That's where the next eclipse is going to take place. So Mercury is the ruler of Virgo. So everything that's happening right now in Virgo is extra well situated because Mercury is in its own sign. So the sun and the South node, the place where the next eclipse will happen, come together on Wednesday. And then on Thursday, Mercury and the South Node come together. Now, this is a very interesting astrology because on
Starting point is 00:04:13 Saturday, Mercury in the Sun and the South node all come together. And this is called a Kazimi, but it's a Kazimi happening on the South Node, which means there is an outpouring of information. On Wednesday, there might be an outpouring of energy. So I do want us to take note of what drains us energetically. Again, we're coming off of a full moon. We're coming off of a lunar eclipse. We're coming off of the first eclipse in a series of two. We know that the energy is a little unsteady. By Wednesday, there might be, again, a little bit of a drop in our ability to shine. or to feel shiny, which is good to note because if that's true, we just need to rest a little or crawl under the couch or, you know, like get a little shade. We need a little cooling down time
Starting point is 00:05:00 possibly. On Thursday, it looks like there's a lot of information that gets put out. And then by Friday, we have this really supercharged moment of like receiving information data that is going to change things for us. And it's super positive because the sun and Mercury are in a sextile to Jupiter. And they're sitting with the South Node, which isn't positive and it isn't negative. It just means that it's amplified in a way of like a lot of information is rushing out. There seems to be something really helpful about the information that we're getting. And Mercury's in its own sign. So it's a very clarifying moment for the details of things and for things working out. In betwixt, eclipses, right? So there's all of this unsettled energy, there's all of this disruption,
Starting point is 00:05:52 there's all of this like big movement happening with the eclipses. And then on Friday and on Saturday, we get this clarifying, hopeful little moment of like, oh wait, if I do it like this, it's going to be so much better. I'm so glad I stopped and talked to that person. I'm so glad I went back to make sure I was reading all my emails. I'm so glad. I'm so glad. I picked up that book again that has been staring at me for weeks now. And I finally picked it up and opened it and read the perfect thing. I'm so glad I had that conversation with a friend. I'm so glad I picked up the phone when so-and-so called me because I usually don't because phone calls are weird. But this time I did. And it just so happened that I had the conversation
Starting point is 00:06:35 that's going to change everything for me. I might be being a little hyperbolic, but I'm telling you clarity and good news in the midst of eclipse season is exceptionally helpful. And that is the main point of this week. Saturday is the exact Mercury Sun conjunction, aka the Kazimi. That is the day we want to write things down. We want to take note of like our big, broad, bold ideas, especially about the details of the things we're thinking about. We want to take note of the people that put meetings on our calendars, that DM us, that email us. Again, don't DM. me. I don't. I can't. It's my DMs are a disaster. I can't look at those. But you get the gist. Let's make sure that we're reaching out to each other in a way that's going to actually be
Starting point is 00:07:22 helpful and is going to land and take note of who's reaching out. Take note of the ideas that are swirling around. Take note of the downloads. Stop, drop, write down the things. Get your pen and paper out. Get your notes app out. Get something to record. Voice memo yourself. Like, oh, I have this big idea. Send the person the text right away. Send the person the email right away. Tell the person that's like the keeper of your ideas. If you have that kind of a relationship with somebody, tell the person that's like a good idea generator, a good ideator with you. This is the moment. This is the little capsule of time where we're like, woof, all this eclipse energy that's like beginning, ending, starting, stopping, big rushes of things shifting and changing. And then the clarity drops in
Starting point is 00:08:06 Saturday, really like Friday, Saturday, probably a little bit of Sunday, drops in and we get the answer or an answer to a piece of it that helps everything else roll out really well. We love a Mercury in Virgo moment. It is a cleaning crew. All the stuff that's going on, a lot of it's messy, a lot of it's contentious, a lot of it's situated in a moment of like, whoof, what's going to happen? and then Mercury and Virgo rolls into town is like this, this and this, put that there, this goes here, this means this, that's not spelled right. Let's categorize, let's organize, so that there can be a flow of useful and productive energy, aka, let's make some magic by having everything ordered, therefore everything can do its job, therefore everything works,
Starting point is 00:09:01 therefore there is a flow of energy, therefore other things can come in because nothing is cluttering the aisle. We want channels to be open so that we can move with the changes that are occurring right now because they are. All right. This is the question that I got from the audience this week that I wanted to answer. The question is, what if I have a place? planet in its own sign, like Mercury in Virgo or Venus in Libra or the Sun in Leo, but it's unaspected by any other planet. What does it mean? It's a great question. It's also really rare if you do my kind of astrology, which is whole sign houses or traditional astrology using whole sign houses. And this is why. If you have, say, Mercury and Virgo, and you also have, like, say your
Starting point is 00:10:06 mercury in Virgo is at one degree of Virgo, and you have Saturn at 28 degrees of Pisces. They're not within a 10-degree orb opposition, but they are in a whole sign opposition. So say if you have Mercury and Virgo, in order for it to be unaspected by my standards, you'd have to have nothing in Pisces. You'd have to have nothing in an Earth sign, nothing in a water sign, nothing in a mutable sign. You'd have to have no planets in any of those signs. And that is rare. It does happen, but it is pretty rare. So if you have a planet in a sign in its own domicile and it's not making any aspects to any other planets. Make sure that you're looking at it by element. So any other earth, air, or water, or fire signs, because they would be making a whole sign aspect to that planet
Starting point is 00:11:04 in my estimation. Make sure that modality-wise, there's no configuration. That would be a square or an opposition. Again, just by sign, not by degree. And make sure that there's nothing else in a complementary element, like if it's a water sign that you have nothing else than an air sign. If it's an earth sign, you have nothing else in a water sign or an earth sign. If it's a fire sign, you have nothing else in an air sign. Like, is the planet truly alone? Because most of the time it won't be. But if it truly is alone, truly does an aspect an angle in your chart. Think of the ascendant, the midheaven, the descendant, the icy. Think of all those. Think about the nodes, like doesn't aspect anything, anything, anything, anywhere, then it's going to be like
Starting point is 00:11:56 a real lone wolf. Like, it's going to bring you good things, but it might not feel like those good things are connected to the other things in your life. It might be like, oh yeah, I've got this pocket of good over here, but it doesn't seem to make a difference to these other aspects of my life. Or this thing is just so good that I mostly just go over to that room in my house. I don't even venture out to the other places because I like it over there. so much. Depends on the planet. Depends on the house. Depends on the person. That's you and how you want to work with it. But you'll have to kind of like draw it out and connect it to other things in a more conscious way. All right. Y'all, come back next week. We've got the second and final
Starting point is 00:12:38 eclipse in eclipse season. It is an eclipse in Virgo. It is in an exact opposition to Saturn. It is a clean your house, do your homework, do your chores, make sure it works. Kind of eclipse. So get everything in order this week when and where it's possible to do so because you will be very happy that you did next week. I'll see you back here. Then thank you so much for joining. Bye for now.
