That's what we're doing today.
It's so much fun to do a bonus die.
Well, usually there's only one episode per week.
Well, what do you call the second episode?

Welcome to the bonus episode
And welcome to the fourth
Bonus episode
Zach! Zach!
No!
We're on a time crunch.
We're doing a bonus episode this week
And what are we doing it for?
We're doing it to promote a film that I've made.
What?
Controversial.
I've made a movie.
Wow, okay
And I'd like you
Feature length?
Well
Yeah, how long is it?
I lie.
I lie.
Me and Broda made a movie.
Zach and I have made a film together.
And it's our baby.
It's our baby.
We did all of the VFX.
We did all of the...
On tour, we had our laptops out every day.
We wrote the script.
Well, that's not true.
No.
And none of that was true.
because it wasn't us that made the movie.
No.
It was you, the audience.
Well, it will be you, the audience.
I thought I made the movie.
When you buy,
when you put,
get a board game because who made the movie?
Mark made the movie.
Well, not a movie per se.
This is so disrespectful.
Such a disrespectful way to start to say that everyone in this room made the movie
other than me.
Well, in a way.
In a way, we all made the movie.
That is true.
That is true
Because
Tell us about the movie
Mark
I didn't know the movie
I saw the movie
I watched the movie
Yes Mark
I went to a live screening
Of the movie
It's not a movie
Mark has
When people say
Well Broden's been making
His shit solo show
And Zach's been making
His wonderful solo show
You see what I did
They're all
It's a lot
It's a wave reviews for both
Like
We got one each
We got one a piece
We got one
Good one
Middling one
yeah but when you when we're off people go what what's mark been doing and i've been saying things
like uh oh you don't even want to know it's been crazy there's 40 episodes that i did last year or
you're like you can hear down says someone screaming it's like you don't and i was like well this
probably going to be out in a few weeks yeah so i'm like well wait till this thing comes out no you've
been working on a project now for what is like 18 months we've been onto uh mark has been
chipping away on his little laptop he's made an exciting project it's his
passion project tell us about it it's a and i know you hate doing this but it's important to do
because i think most of our audience would love to see it but i know you hate self promotion but this is
important to do mark it's tough tell them it is go go go quick quick it's a movie it's a movie it's a
it's um it the only thing it makes it a movie is that it is one hour long uh which i don't think
makes it a movie officially um what makes drasic park it's a it's a it's a lost it's a
It's a, it's a, so you know, you guys seen, have you seen Hug the Sun?
Yes.
Yes.
So in Hug the Sun, there's a character that I play called The Shadow Man.
Oh yeah, we know the Shadow Man.
He's incredibly viral.
And yeah, well, this is what's so crazy about the Shadow Man is that we made, um, we made, uh, well, Ben and Xavier made Hug the Sun in what, 20, 21?
It was 20, 20, 20, right?
And then four, five years later after that comes out,
the shadow man clip starts going a bit viral.
And someone in our office said,
oh, we should make more Shadow Man stuff.
And the only thing that I thought would be good without, you know,
kind of repeating itself and would offer something new,
but still has a hand in what made Hug the Sun so special
was the idea that if Hugging the Sun is a found footage show
that was made in 1992.
In 1991 in Australia,
there was a spooky video board game for children called Nightmare.
I remember that game.
It's a real gaming.
You could play.
You'd put in a VHS.
Yes.
You'd play along this board game.
Yes.
It was also known as Atmosphere.
I remember Atmuseum.
There was a VHS version of Atmospheric.
Then there was a DVD version of Atmospheric.
I remember both.
I remember these.
I remember these.
I remember these.
So what's this got to do with Shadow?
Do you know the answer is?
Doing a fucking job.
Yeah, that was really good.
This is nice.
I do struggle with this.
I thought I'd be fine.
You just say it.
Just say it.
It's good.
You just say what it is.
And then I've watched it.
He's watched it.
We can do all the like it was really good.
But like the way I led you there, that was.
Yeah, it was incredible.
It was awesome.
So in this alternate world of Hug the Sun, the actor who played Shadow Man in 1992,
then went, I'm going to make my own expansion tape to the nightmare video.
board game.
Right.
He went and he did it and then he disappeared.
30 years ago, he disappeared.
And the tape that you're watching is a found footage tape made in 1995 that was thought
to be lost till time until today.
Well, that sounds incredibly fucked.
Yeah, it is.
Oh, it's truly fucked.
It's fantastic.
It's not just comedy.
It's a real peek inside the mind of Mark Bonano.
The dark twisted mind.
The dark twisted.
Tim Burton.
That's a teaser for a later podcast that we're banged.
Very later.
Now, Mark, the nightmare game was this, just like, did you get to make?
I love this radio.
Yeah.
Oh, wait, okay, okay.
Yeah.
This is such a huge thing in 1992 and I remember it being so big.
Did you get to meet?
Well, like, have you met the nightmare people?
Well, yeah, no, we spoke to the creators of nightmare.
They had a company called a couple of cowboys.
Wow, good name.
And these are some real.
fucking cool dudes.
These are,
these are dudes who have spent kind of their life making,
uh,
stuff intended for a younger audience,
like intended for kids that in my opinion doesn't like,
um,
uh,
yeah,
panda or,
or,
play off the idea that,
you know,
kids are stupid and we'll accept any old shit.
It's,
uh,
you know,
the tapes genuinely used to scare the shit out of me as a kid,
right?
And,
uh,
and so I've always just really,
really loved that game.
I don't know,
you guys remember but i would say that over the years i've often brought up nightmare and and
reference the gatekeeper and i love i love nightmare yeah i'm coming to like a coffin right yeah
the vhs has been a coffin it's great as well yeah kind of yeah there was like a coffin shape
we do a lot of rude stuff um now this video you've made family friendly no um no great i've
a follow question on that yeah so i'm watching this film you've made is it do i is it just watch the
film and go home?
To a degree, there's, what I will say is that the film itself is, is 50% of the project.
Wow.
So the film project you've made is 50% of the experience.
Yeah.
And I, and it's, leave it at that.
Leave it at that.
And it's also worth mentioning, um, that it's fairly unwatchable.
Oh, no, it's fucking great.
No.
It's great.
It's out there.
Like, it's not a traditional film and there's like the countdown and everything.
Yeah, there's a go with it.
I would say you've got to come in with a sort of, it's not like, it's not a comedy
sketch.
Yeah.
But I think it's much more watchable and great than you're saying.
Like I get the, I get the pretense.
Yeah, yeah.
But I would also say, like, warning.
Yeah, yeah.
But it is great.
Just go in with an over mind.
Not to talk it up.
I would say it's better than obsession and backrooms combined.
Well, okay.
That's crazy.
I would say it's better than Shoshang Redemption.
It's better than, it's the greatest.
piece of media
in your opinion
where can we watch it
uh you can watch it
it's exclusive
on uh on grouse house tv
but you can join up for five bucks and watch it
you join up for five bucks uh
Australian so like one dollar US
yeah yeah yeah it's uh it's good shit
like 80 pesos oh 80 pesos that's
it's important to say mark 80 pesos 80 pesos 80 pesos 80 pesos to watch it on
grasshouse TV uh on grasshouse TV um uh exclusive on on that on that platform and
you know, it's a bit of fun.
And I would encourage you if you are just watching it without,
because you can play it to the board game.
I would say that as an outsider,
if I think a lot of Australians back home,
go back to your mom and dad's house,
go into your old cupboard,
go into dad's shed,
see if you can find your old nightmare board game.
Ask your older sibling,
older cousins if you're younger,
if they have it.
I reckon I have a nightmare somewhere at home.
Yeah, yeah.
Find it and play along.
That would be the best way to experience.
But it's also,
Yeah.
But also it's fine if you don't know that at all.
Yeah, if you don't know that at all, there's still, you know,
and I would just, there's a lot of time screen.
So there's a lot of times when you'll just see a clock counting up.
You know, go on your phone.
Yeah, double screen.
During that time, enjoy the presence of your loved one or partner or pets during that time.
And then when the Shadow Man's speaking, you know, re-engage with the,
or anytime you hear.
hear anything a little bit different you know just pay attention to the screen but you don't have
to watch all the time screens um uh but you know i uh fuck i'm so bad at this i was just gonna
close it out i'm so bad at this but you're so good at making a fucked film that the film is 50%
of the project yeah and i like genuinely i think most people be very very excited to get involved
with this you could go and enjoy it now literally now uh and can i say on behalf of zach
Tom and Lucy
that we've watched you working on this for 18 months
and we're very excited to let the world see it
I think they're going to love it
and I think they're going to cream their
I think they're going to cream their strudal
I think it's it's it's it's it's
I think the thing to not
it's not just a comedy but it is a comedy
it's just I think they're going to have a great time
it's very it's uh I think
I've said stuff to you about it
Yeah, but I feel like I don't want to frame it too much that way,
but I just think it's a really great way to play and experiment.
And I think people are going to have a really wild time.
And to close us out, Mark is singing the fifth bonus episode song.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, y'all.
