Well, high executive produced Chernobyl, which is a story story about the city of Pripyat and the fallout from the 1987, you know, a nuclear reactor explosion and the stories of those people

in that area in the Soviet Union. And while I was making that show, while I was making that show, I would often try to unwind by playing video games. All right. Oh yeah. And one of the video games I was playing with a little game called Last of Us. Oh yeah. Oh yeah.

And I remember being a bone away. Oh yeah. Yeah. Great. The writing of the person we have mentioned, but also by Neil Druckman. And I was blown away and that's when I decided that I would do a new series, not about Chernobyl. They wanted me to do a season two of Chernobyl. Well, yeah, where is there to go?

And we can't do that. Where is there to go? I think, well, yeah, do you do the fallout? How do you do a show about a, how do you do? How do you do? It's just equal. About a place where literally everyone leaves that place. When we talked about it, I mean, we got together. We, HVO were really gracious. They paid for office. On box office.

Two weeks of a writer's room to just sort of see if we could break up. Well, that's right. Yeah, that's the void. Yeah, go. And we did like right. Yeah, that's the void. Yeah, go. And we did like this. We had the room booked out at the studio. I got the black and shrimp pass. Oh yeah, oh yeah. Oh yeah, for many names. For many names, black and shrimp pass,

you gotta get that in the room. Did we go down the norms straight away? Or did we go, or did we get norms? I feel like on day one, we got norms like take out. Yeah, we got it. We got it. We got it. We got those big foil. Got those t-shirts. No, it was because we saw a show with the Largo. Oh, we saw Largo. Yeah. So Largo. The comedy show. Yeah, Judd Apatow. Judd Apatow was there with

Thomas, his friends doing stand up. I ran into Todd, director of Joker. I've worked with him. Oh, Todd, Todd Phillips. And we made a joke. And we made a joke. And we made a joke. I said, Todd, you're so serious now. And he said, well, speak for yourself.

I'm not blowing up Russian town. Yeah, and he said to me, yeah, we'll wait till you see the sequel to Joker. Then tell me if I'm taking myself seriously. It's a musical with a lady Gege. And this is her. He said to me as well after that. I don't know if you remember Craig.

I was at the same person. Oh, you were at norms. By then I was at norms. He said to me, I get a hot cakes, maybe a side of coffee, maybe hash brown sausage. Oh yeah. So were you at norms as well at this point?

I was at norms that morning. I remember I got my car parked in Valet. Yeah, I said I'm gonna go into norms and I'll be back in maybe an hour. So you were at norms, you were at norms. I was still at Largo. Yeah, I'm talking a Todd at this point. Todd Phillips.

Right. And why did Todd say? He says to me, he says, are you doing a season two of Chernobyl? Oh, you're doing a season two of Chernobyl? Oh, he knew, oh, he knew. Well, he knew we were working on it. Cool, cool.

Right. And I said, sure, yeah, we're working on it. And I told him at the time, because at the time we were thinking, what if Chernobyl blew up again, what if, what if it blew up again? And we had a group of people coming in to see what was happening. You know, how they do that sometimes. And it blew up again. Sure, sure.

And, well, that never happened. Yeah. No, no, but we thought what if it happened? I think it's fun sometimes when you're writing to explore every idea. Oh, you got it. Regardless of how silly it may seem. Yeah. Oh, yeah.

Sure, noble blowing up again. I mean, my pitch for the sequel was about a pop star who was very morally and ethically a sound. Oh, yeah. I wanted to make this, this, this sequel share noble. Sure. Sure. sure. I had I had that idea and at the moment you decided to do sure noble I pitched the what if version of Chernobyl that's when we split off yeah, yeah, I pitched that we split I pitched that

I mean well yeah, that's the moment. All right, that happened. That happened earlier in the day. There was rings. And there were two crags. I pitched the idea for share noble to Todd Phillips. In New York, we went down to Katz's, got a salary soda and the hot pot. Was he making Joker 2 there? He was talking about it. He actually was in pre-proud.rod i said to him how do you do

sequel about a about a joker about someone who's the silly you know a prankster sure you know when you're a little bit and he said a musical with lady good uh well you gotta go to cancels because it's an institution it's an institution you get the brisket hot dog, brisket, salad, soda, just a side of fries or something. I never made that trip. I never made that trip because we were so different at that point. We split. We split sliding doors with Greta Paltrow. So you made that trip with him?

Were you still the same Craig Mason at that point? I was a drag Mason at that point? I was pregnant at that point. I we split at a point a little bit later. We're an I hop. Oh, actually, yeah, and Glendale. Oh, yeah, and Glendale. Oh, yeah. Three months later and I wanted a burger and they were doing I hop. Obviously, I hop stands for International House of Tank. He's part of the time. They were doing the promotion. I hop. That stood for International House of Burgers. That was just a promotion. You can get a chicken burger, you can get a beef burger,

turkey burger if you're watching your calorie intake. They're a cheap burger? That cheap burger? Sure, sure, sure. Impossible beef burger. Yeah, beyond, they're doing gion now. Burgers, the vegans. You gotta get beyond burger now.

Have you been to never say die? Oh yeah, all burgers never say die. And several like'm not vegans. You gotta get beyond burger now. And you've been to never say die. Yeah, so he comes, he rides all the way over because he's on Foxlot at the moment. I'm on Fox. What are you working on? Well, this is, we'll see at this point, right? So you were still working on your season two of Chernobyl. Yeah, my version of it. Sure noble.

Yeah. Share goes noble. My version had already been cut. And I remember thinking. I guessed. Yeah, it was good. Sure noble again. I was already at this point talking to Neil Druckmann

about working on last of us. Sure. This was something I was really excited about. Yeah. You didn't think to do last of us for another two, three weeks. No, I was caught up in the Cuckman controversy. I thought he was a Cuck. Oh yeah.

And at the time, I thought, if I work with a Cuck, he'll fuck my wife and I'll have to watch. Oh, yeah. So then you realize that it's the other way, right? If I work with a cook, he'll fuck my wife and I'll have to watch. So then you realize that it's the other way, right? I realized that everyone calling Druckman a Cuckman was a Cuckman. Right, so this is actually something they called him because he took a bold narrative choice in the second game. Yeah. Okay.

So you were deciding between Craig Mason. Craig Mason, but you were telling me when you split off from this Craig Mason. Yeah, sure. So I was an I hop and Glendale. Yeah, as were you. I was like, I'm going to try. At this point, you're one Craig Mason. Yeah, and I was like, you know what?

I'm going to try the I hop burger. Oh, yeah. And this Craig Mason said, I'm going to stick with blueberry pancakes. Yeah, and with the blueberry syrup. And I went on to make a show called anti-Donna's coffee cafe. It was about three Australians, a fish out of water. Also, you never made last of them.

Oh, I made last of them. No, well, well, the anti-Donna's coffee cafe is an adaptation of the video game last of it. In his, in this, I got a question. It, again, there was a split. There was a split. You went in love to get the Craig and the you Went down a more traditional path. I'm like the story. You went to I have got pancakes. Yeah

Is that make sense? Well, he went to I hop I went to I hop I got I got the blueberry pancake You I got the blueberry pancake. I put the blueberry I got the blueberry pancake. I put the blueberry. maybe I got the sushi. What's that sushi? Oh, it's over fish. You got silverfish. Yeah, I got sushi that day. Yeah. You got to understand, we're like three months different at this point.

Oh yeah. So you both went to I have, I never went to that I have. Oh yeah. So you both went to IOP. I never went to that IOP. Oh yeah. There's like a sliding doors. Here's my question. When we split. Yeah.

Do we become two people in the one world or are we multiverse? Is it like, I can't break us to a very serious and fatigue side there is there to say I don't know I don't care Well, well into two is it like I can't decide there's only two is it a cloning? I would say it's apparitions and I would like and so oh yeah, oh yeah, I have a thought. That thought manifests itself in another Craig Mason. There are over 5000 Craig Mason. Craig.

I think it's more fun to see Craig Mason, doing a scene from memory from the show. I agree, it's what I want to see. No, no, but I'm going to do a show, my show.
