Starting point is 00:00:00 A listener production. Welcome to this very special bonus episode of the Aunty Donna podcast. Now, it is sponsored by someone in particular. You might not be able to tell because, you know us, we like to keep things subtle. But please enjoy it regardless and have a bit of a laugh on the way through it, too. Hello and welcome to a bonus episode of the Auntie Donna podcast. Congratulations to all the grand finalists of the major Aussie sports, whether that's Aussie rules or league, whatever you celebrate, congratulations on a great season. And I want to welcome our listeners to this bonus episode. You know for a long time that we've
Starting point is 00:01:01 enjoyed KFC and we've been... We've talked about KFC in the past on the podcast. We even did a whole, I would say almost neo-noir style investigation onto a particular item that we're very excited to have back in our lives. Well we've been levelling at these guys to sponsors for maybe 400 episodes plus, and then they finally come to the party, and that is the people at Kentucky Fried Chicken. And then he's back to Kentucky Fried Chicken. It was just KFC for a while, but I see on the bucket that they've supplied us, firstly,
Starting point is 00:01:37 they've supplied us with a few buckets of chicken and chips. Yes, our dear listeners, our dear consumers who are at home, there are two juicy, delicious, scented, well, you know, scented... Boxes of chicken. Well, buckets, buckets. You mean because the buckets are at the centre of the table and also they have a delicious scent. Yes, the delicious scent.
Starting point is 00:02:01 So we, we, you know, there were people who were like, hey, KFC is sponsoring, well, that's awesome. And then you got to show up to the studio at 10.30 in the morning. It's now 10.32. And a bunch of people we hear from KFC, and they sort of just walked in and put these buckets down in front of us. And now, I think what's most exciting about these buckets of chicken that is in front of us. And now, now I think what's most exciting about these buckets of chicken that is in front of us is that the buckets of chicken are not the regular original recipe. Now I know a lot of you are probably thinking original recipe that's the the variety I'm going to get,
Starting point is 00:02:38 but no for a limited time KFC has reintroduced the hot and spicy variety of chicken. They do this. We talked about it. We've talked about it. But they love, KFC's favourite thing to do is to tempt us with a tasty delicious treat. Yeah, and that's their fried chicken. It's quite, they remind me of my cat, quite withholding with their affections for hot and spicy.
Starting point is 00:03:03 But I think that's good, and I want to say I'm so excited for this limited time. Oh yeah. I'll be definitely, even outside of, you know, the sponsorship, there is a sponsorship here I think we should all... We're on the take. This is, I just want to be clear here, this is a sponsored podcast. But I do want to say... Of KFC Chicken.
Starting point is 00:03:24 All I have to do is talk about the hot and spicy. I don't have to say what I'm about to say, which is I think during this limited run of hot and spicy, I'll be going to KFC in my own time, on my own dime, and I'll be having some hot and spicy chicken. On your own time and your own dime? On my own time and my own dime, I'll be enjoying the delicious hot and spicy chicken of KFC. And I don't need to say that And I don't need to say that. I don't have to say that.
Starting point is 00:03:46 I have eaten KFC before they approached us as a sponsor. I had eaten KFC before. I enjoy KFC as a shame-free treat from time to time often. I love KFC. Do you know the way I use it? I use it with my friends and family as a way to bring us together. Yes.
Starting point is 00:04:05 Because it's a great way, hey, a sport event's on or maybe a christening or, you know, we're celebrating a birthday. I'll say, come round for some KFC. Yes. I eat my KFC the way I live my life. Shame free. All this talk is making me think, I might duck out for some KFC after this. Well you don't need to. We have eight buckets of KFC here. They delivered to us an amount
Starting point is 00:04:33 of chicken that we will eat and it's going to be delicious. I don't want to talk for everyone here at the SCA offices, of course we're at Listener SCA, but they are out the window. The staffers are out the window. Where's the salivating? Salivating, licking their lips. They can't wait for us to wrap up this podcast because I think they might get a few pieces of chicken. Like rabid, shame-free dogs. They are just howling at the door. Well, I can't blame them.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Neither can I. There is delicious, crispy, hot and spicy chicken on this table, Broden. I've just talked before about how it's a way to bring friends together. And I think we're going to make some new friends today. Yeah, we're bringing the whole office together in a party, guilt free, to enjoy some spicy, crispy, crunchy, fresh chicken from the Colonel himself. Two representatives of the Colonel came this morning and dropped off this chicken and by God did it. It's finger lickin' good.
Starting point is 00:05:31 It is and I don't care. I love it. Can I say some concerns I might have and can you address them? Some Colonel Cerns? Some Colonel's of concern. Let's go into that segment that we've planned for today. Kernel CERNs, which are Zach's Kern CERNs, about... Yeah, please. Just the general...
Starting point is 00:05:54 But there's nothing wrong with... No, no, I think we're gonna find an issue because I think everything's great. Now, I ask every listener right now just to engage in this discussion in good faith. If I ask a hypothetical question, don't turn off. Just wait until you hear the answer because I think you might be surprised. I don't want you leaving this podcast thinking any of these Colonel-serns have not been addressed.
Starting point is 00:06:19 And you are of course our Kern-serners. Kern-serners. I'd stop now. But it's like Colonel and listeners. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I reckon list. Kern listeners. I'd stop now. But it's like Kern listeners. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I reckon we'll probably hit the ceiling on that.
Starting point is 00:06:30 All right. Kern listeners, hold on. We're going to get straight into these Kern Cerns. Now as a Kern-sumer of... Zach. Kern-tucky fried chicken. Kentucky fried chicken. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Because you've looped back. But that's the Kern-al in Kentucky sort of coming together. Oh, it could be Kentucky Cerns. I don't understand that. Well, because the ken. Yeah. Uh, I'd... Can Cern-Tucky.
Starting point is 00:06:55 It doesn't quite work for me. Yeah, I don't like it. All right, fine. Fine. Just stick to what we wrote. We didn't write any of this. My... I just came in this morning and there was someone with eight buckets of chicken here.
Starting point is 00:07:07 Delicious. Oh, and I was like, you beauty. And can I just say... Oh, that's what I said. Do you remember when I walked in? Yeah, yeah, yeah. They said, we've got some kernel for you. We've got some Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Starting point is 00:07:16 And I said, you beauty. You did say that. And it is, it is good. Oh yeah. And they've got the full range here. There's a breast. Oh, you got your breast. There's a leg. Yeah, I saw a thigh in there earlier. Oh yeah. And they've got the full range here. There's a breast. Oh you've got a leg. Yeah, I saw a thigh in there earlier.
Starting point is 00:07:29 And two large chips. In fact, I think I see two breasts on top of this bucket. Broden. That's white meat for a US audience. Broden. I'm worried that the chicken, a Kentucky Fried Chicken, is the chicken sauced? I only want chicken that's sauced in Australia. This is sauced in Australia.
Starting point is 00:07:50 That's Australian-sauced chicken? Are you saying sauced as in like the marinade, like the sauce that's put on it beforehand? Yes, as well. Or that too? But no, I want the sauce of my, the sauce, S-O-U-R-C-E-D. SAUCEDE-D. The source. Well, the source, I want the source of my chicken.
Starting point is 00:08:11 S-O-U-R-C-E. Yes. To be Australian. Well, I can tell you right now, it's sourced and sourced in Australia. So what I mean by that is S-O, S-O-U-R-C-E-D and S-A-U-S-E-D. Yeah. Source. Broden's looking at me like I'm way wrong on that second S. S-A-U-S-E-D.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Oh no, no, no, not S. Source. As in sauce, as in... C, isn't it? Sauce. For like tomato sauce. S, A, U, C, E. S, A, U, C. Oh, okay. I'm 80% on it being a C.
Starting point is 00:08:58 Yeah, I'm pretty confident, but I'm not 100%. I'm at about a 95. No, you're 100% right. You're 100% right. I can't spell, but I'm not 100%. I'm at about a 95. No, you're 100% right. You're 100% right. I can't spell, but I can eat KFC. I struggled to spell. And I love it. I struggled to spell audibly because it's very much the usual for me. Oh yeah, I can't.
Starting point is 00:09:16 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I struggled to spell. That's one of the things I can do. Give me two numbers. I know, yeah, you're amazing at a... Give me two numbers. You're an incredible speller. And give me a maths thing to do.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Oh yeah. Give just any two numbers. I know, yeah, you're amazing at a... Give me two numbers. You're an incredible speller. And give me a maths thing to do. Oh yeah. Give just any two numbers. Yeah. One and three. Spaghetti. Fuck. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:32 But ask me to spell something. Spell sourced. Which one? No, that's the challenge. All right, give me in a sentence. Australian sourced chicken. Yeah. KFC's chicken is sourced in Australia.
Starting point is 00:09:46 Well, I'm not going to be wrong. Oh, you can't... No, there's one. There is one that we are thinking of. Is there any chance that I spell one out and you're going to say correct? Honestly. Yeah, a 50% chance. I think it's even lower because I think were I to get the one that you are thinking of...
Starting point is 00:10:06 What are you scared of, man? Why are you... I'm scared to be wrong on this platform in front of our friends at KFC. The only thing you should be scared of are ghouls because they haunt you at night. But maybe if you brought the ghouls some chicken, it would bring them together, as I do with my friends and family. Yeah, don't get out of spelling. Absolutely, I will.
Starting point is 00:10:24 I'm going to go with the original one that we were talking about. I'm going to go with sourced locally sourced. Spell that. S O U R C E D. Mark. That's correct. That's correct. Right.
Starting point is 00:10:40 Congratulations. And it's a shame you had to be such a dick about that. Yeah, you really, you were an arse about that whole thing. You stretched it out if you just went with your gut. I feel bad. I want to bring you guys back together. How can I do that? Well, there's one way to do that for me.
Starting point is 00:10:54 A delicious bucket of KFC hot and spicy chicken. And we've got one right here. Two. Lucky. Can I see if you could address any more of my Colonel Cerns? Yes. Oh, you're just going Colonel Cerns now. Because he said Kern C more of my kernel cerns? Yes. Yes. Oh, you're just going kernel cerns now.
Starting point is 00:11:06 Because he said kern cerns. Kern cerns. Mine, probably my biggest kern cern. Kernal cerns. I don't like to eat chicken that's cooked in large batches. Uh, well, they're cooked in medium. No, no, no, no, no, no. No small batch. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:11:25 No small batch. They're cooked in small batches. It even says it on the bucket in front of us. Well, they are. That's the thing about it. I remember. They're, it's funny these are your concerns because it's freshly prepared. It's Australian-sourced chicken and it's cooked in small batches.
Starting point is 00:11:42 It is. It's only about from memory. It's a handful of pieces from memory. Well, it's a small batch. Yeah, maybe 10, 12 pieces. Whatever constitutes a small batch, it's that amount. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:54 Legally, legally, it's a small batch. Legally? The legal definition of a small batch. Can I ask? I've got another concern. Yeah? This is related to the chips. Uh-huh. I don't like... They're cooked fresh. Oh yeah, are they cooked fresh? Yes. But I bet they're not made from real potatoes. No, they absolutely are made from real potatoes. Of course they are.
Starting point is 00:12:20 I don't want, I don't want to know the seasoning. It's secret seasoning. Well, that's good because it is a secret seasoning. As is the 11 Herbs and Spices, but this is the hot and spicy version. Can I just jump in? There's one more spice on there. Chili. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:40 Can I jump in? Yes. I love KFC. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you know what I want to thank the Colonel for? It's not getting rid of those, the wet ones. The refresher towels. Oh yeah. You think that was the Colonel's prerogative?
Starting point is 00:12:52 You think that came in in his time? What? You think the wet ones... What are you talking about? ...was the Colonel's prerogative? I think he liked a nice clean wet mouth. I think the wet ones came in after the Colonel was no longer running the company. He may have still been a spokesperson and a board member.
Starting point is 00:13:13 I want to fact check that. We can't. But what I can say is there's a reason they love it in the US. There's a reason they love it on Christmas in Japan. There's a reason in Australia it's the way to bring friends and family together. Oh, I have the fondest memories. So in... Indulge Me, if you will. Let's go back to... I'm ready to indulge.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Yeah, yeah, yeah. With some KFC. And a memory... How about my earliest memory of Hot and Spicy? How about that? Okay. So, where I grew up, Werribee. Ever heard of it? Oh no. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Real shithole. Great couple of KFCs though. One on Wotton Street in the main town. Shining lights. Yep. Two in the Werribee Plaza. Oh! Within a five minute walking distance.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Sounds like my kind of shopping center. Oh yeah. Hahaha. Because of the abundance of KFC. Oh absolutely. Now called Pacific Werribee. Little more classier now. Why is it called that?
Starting point is 00:14:22 Uh, rebranding. But that didn't take away the two KFCs. No, no, no. No, there are still two KFCs. And good. And both great. Good. And one of my earliest memories, quite genuinely of Hot and Spicy, Aunty Rose taking me down to Werribee Plaza to see a movie, some sort of fiction, some sort of fiction flick.
Starting point is 00:14:46 I don't know, whatever it was that was happening on screen was not based on reality. Enjoying this chicken afterwards is going to be non-fiction for me. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. That's going to be, you could put that down in the history books. Tell me which piece you might pick. What piece are you most excited to? Yeah, what would you go, what was your gut? Oh, I think I'm going to dig into a hot and spicy drumstick. Should we go through the pieces available?
Starting point is 00:15:08 I want to finish your story. We'll finish your story and then we'll... Oh, we just ate some hot and spicy. Oh, nice. So... Did you like it? Yeah, it was sick. Let me tell you, I'm definitely eyeing off this breast piece here.
Starting point is 00:15:20 That's a breast there. Look, me, me, me, me, I'm like, I am more of a Kylo Ren than I am a Ray Skywalker. The dark. You prefer the rear side of the chicken. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm biting into that juicy thigh. Sure. You know, because I love the succulent meat.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Those viewing the video, Mark, which one of which one of those are we have a beautiful? Right here at the top. Oh great. You'll get stuck into that good on you. Oh, I'm just gonna go straight in bones and all It's how I eat my KFC. Yeah, I'm gonna eat there. I suck the bones dry There's definitely a more sort of fleshy part of the breast Oh, I'll be consuming that. And it looks delicious. And then enjoying that crispy breading on the afterwards. How about you, Broden? Oh yeah, how about you?
Starting point is 00:16:14 Whatever one it is, much like the consumers of KFC, it's going to bring joy. Whichever one I land on. So you'll just throw that hand in. Willy nilly. Any one of those pieces of chicken, knowing you're going to have a great time. Correct. I'm going to throw the pieces at you, at both of you, and I want you to rate that cut of chicken. That's so hard because they're all number one in my opinion.
Starting point is 00:16:33 I know, I know. This is going to be a hard task. I'll put my hand up. Great. Great. So I'm going to throw them at you. You tell me, right? Let's start with the classic.
Starting point is 00:16:41 Is it an out of 10? Let's start with the absolute. In order. I was going to say out of 10, but then what out of 10 and in order? I'll do in order, you do out of 10. Oh, that is a perfect way to execute this and come together. Unfortunately, they're all 10 out of 10. It's just degrees of 10 out of 10.
Starting point is 00:16:57 Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right. Let's start with the absolute classic, something everyone, a cut that everyone is familiar with, the drum. How many cuts are there Over I think there's no way to actually know in a million or so. Yeah, you could cut a chicken It's how many ways is there to skinny? Chip a chicken how many ways are there to cut a chicken is the phrase? Yeah. Yeah But there is a couple of classics that we should go through and let's start with the absolute number one
Starting point is 00:17:24 The now musicians out there are gonna be very familiar with this one, the drumstick. Ten. Yes, great ten out of ten and where do you rank it in the list of? You know when I was younger I loved the ability to eat it you know it almost comes with its own cutlery the bone of of that comes with its own cutlery. Such a good point, Zach. Yeah. But I think it is number four. Not for any other reason. I love a drumstick.
Starting point is 00:17:51 I love the convenience. Not for any other reason than I just know what's coming. And we're getting into spoiler territory there for any vegans. Does that make sense? No. I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have said that. I had that thought and I was like, don't say it.
Starting point is 00:18:07 But then it just... Mark, what's number three? So the next one, let's go. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's pay. Let's pick it back up. Number three, man. Hey, this is fun.
Starting point is 00:18:17 I'm having fun. Oh, yeah. Number three, the... No, well, number two, the rib. The rib. Oh, the breast. No, well number two, the rib. The rib. Oh, the breast. No, no, different to the breast. The rib lives either side of the breast and you get.
Starting point is 00:18:31 10. Absolutely, I know why it's a 10 for me. Where do you rate the rib? Is the rib a cut? Absolutely the rib is a cut. I could find you a delicious rib, fucking right now. Different to the breast. Yes, the breast lives in the center. The rib on right now. Different to the breast. Yes.
Starting point is 00:18:45 The breast lives in the center. The rib on either side. What I like about the rib is you get a little bit of the, it lives in that sort of, did any of you watch the acolyte? It's the Jedi. Oh, right. That live with a little bit of dark
Starting point is 00:19:01 and a little bit of light, a little bit of this and a little bit of that. That and a little bit of this and a little bit of light, a little bit of this and a little bit of that, that and this and a little bit of this, that is the red band, it's very very nice, a little bit of this and a little bit of that, and a little bit of this and a little bit of that, and a little bit of this and a little bit of that, five, six, seven, eight. I love the rib, it's a very nice piece, it's the breast you get to when you cut up the chuck put it in your tummy and have a little suck it was your turn again what do I have? go!
Starting point is 00:19:40 KFC have it with my friends bringing everyone together again even though the chicken is the best I've ever had Okay, I can I feel confident I can do it now. Yep. Yeah Enjoy It's very joyful. The mood is sounding so excited about our KFC hot and spicy. Being available for a limited time. So 10 out of 10? 10.
Starting point is 00:20:13 When I ranked the chicken drumstick at four, I thought there were four pieces. How many pieces are there? You have to let me run this through my mind. It's all right. Take your time. Take your time. I'll just sit here thinking about which piece of chicken I'm going to eat. I don't want to, um, I don't want to, uh, I want to do this correctly.
Starting point is 00:20:40 There are five, there are five cuts. I don't think it's a big deal, Zach. Like, I think it's- Yeah, it's fine, man. I don't want to go on the record with my chicken cuts in the wrong order. I'm happy to move on from this idea. We're publishing a podcast here. That will be on the record. There's only three more cuts to get through.
Starting point is 00:20:58 Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm over the pin. I really like that. Can I redo my chicken leg? Oh, no. Please, can I put it back to a five, down to a five? Please, please, please, please. I really like that. Can I redo my chicken leg? Oh no. Please. Can I put it back to a five down to a five? Please, please, please, please.
Starting point is 00:21:10 I don't know what I'm going to put below. Well, Zach, what would the Colonel do? The Colonel would, I mean, the Colonel is a successful businessman. The Colonel would put his foot down and he would say, um, let's deal with this issue and let's make it happen. Often in times of crisis, in times of trouble, I ask myself, what would the Colonel do? And the answer to me often is get some mates around, get a bucket of KFC chicken. Turn your phone on silent.
Starting point is 00:21:36 Turn your phone on silent. Phones on silent everybody. I'm so sorry, it's my dad calling. Probably to say, sorry I missed your call. Can we talk about this later over lunch? Yeah. Probably to say, sorry I missed your call. Can we talk about this later over lunch? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I'm getting him around.
Starting point is 00:21:50 Oh. We're coming together. Yeah, let him know. Let him know when you talk to him next. Can you call him back now and just say, maybe we could meet up for some KFC to talk this through? All right. So Mark's going to call Charlie.
Starting point is 00:22:01 And we'll get back to that ranking maybe. Oh, I'm happy to. No, no, it's, it's important. Dad, dad, you're live on the Auntie Donna podcast. We're talking KFC. Dad, how many, what? I want your help and you will talk. You've got to get me later.
Starting point is 00:22:20 Don't worry about it. Are you in trouble? Well, the TV, I want to get this bloody TV going. What? Well, I've got a new TV part. Yeah. And then I've got to punch in a few things. Nothing's working.
Starting point is 00:22:38 That's fine. Can you tell that story to me again? But can you just mention at the top that you've just had some delicious KFC and now you can't get the TV working? I just had some nice, real delicious KFC, yeah. Oh yeah? I did. And what? Oh yeah. I did. And now I'm trying to get this bloody TV going. And it's too complicated. Ah, well look Dad.
Starting point is 00:23:05 Just give me a bit of hot and spicy. Look, yeah, look, I might have to call you back because it sounds to me like you're having a hot and spicy issue with the TV. Potentially like the hot and spicy chicken. The hot and spicy just not working for me. Yeah, the TV's not working, but the chicken from KFC you had was hot and spicy, correct? Oh, 100%. Yeah, great.
Starting point is 00:23:39 Asking what was the best bit about it. And I love it. And what were the best bits about it? What was the best bit? It was nice and crunchy. And I love it. And what were the best bits about it? Oh, it was a bit of a crunch. Yes. Yes. A crunchy like the issue you're having with the TV. But the TV is not crunchy.
Starting point is 00:23:54 It's not bloody working at all. Well, ask is it a smart TV? Is it a smart TV? Is it? The chicken's all right. I'm worried about the bloody TV now. All right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But we just got to get back to the chicken for one second.
Starting point is 00:24:09 I don't care about the chicken anymore. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no so we can fix the TV, but in the meantime, I'm going to get back to this delicious KFC chicken. Look, don't worry about the TV. We'll get back to the TV, but I'm eating this lovely chicken at the moment. Nice and crunchy and nice and spicy. And where's it from? From KFC. Oh yeah, of course.
Starting point is 00:24:42 That sounds, that's classic. KFC. Where is it from? Where are you, alright or what? No, look, Dad, I love you. Alright, see you later. I'll ask him to say I love you back. Please say I love you back. We're live.
Starting point is 00:24:55 I love you too, mate. That's beautiful. Thanks, mate. Alright, alright. I love you, like I love KFC and I will talk to you a little bit later, Dad. Okay, buddy. See you later. Bye.
Starting point is 00:25:06 You brought everyone together. What a crazy coincidence that he was having an issue with his TV, but had just been enjoying KFC chicken much like us right here. And he said he loves you back. How did that make you feel? Oh man. It made me feel like, you know that feeling when you get a warm bucket of KFC hot and spicy chicken? Yeah, I do.
Starting point is 00:25:26 That joy- Authentic feeling. That just beautiful, crispy, crunchy, spicy. That's how my dad makes me feel. Crispy, crunchy, spicy. When he tells me he loves me, I feel crispy, I feel crunchy, and I feel a little bit spicy. But we're Sicilian, I'm a fangu! But you do appreciate a good fried chicken. Yes I do.
Starting point is 00:25:48 Now let's get back to these cuts. This is the best chicken I've ever had. I just want to ask, I understand, I've put in the case, I understand if I have to leave it at four, can I find out now what the results are? Can I put the leg down to five? You know what, you know, after I hear, I've softened. Uh huh. After hearing my dad say he loves me, after getting to reminisce about,
Starting point is 00:26:14 because I have lots of memories, my dad and KFC. Yeah. Don't we all? Don't we all? I in particular loved eating KFC chips with my mum. Friday nights for us, that was takeout night. And you better believe it was often going to KFC. Oh, of course.
Starting point is 00:26:31 Yeah. Love KFC. One of the best options. After a big drive home from the city, you know what? Let's all get KFC. I used to love a KFC dinner, you know, in that sort of setting on a Sunday night. So yeah, I'll allow it. Cause I think that's what, I think that's what the Colonel would have done.
Starting point is 00:26:45 Thank you so much. So I'll put Chicken Leg at number five. Just saying, Lynne, it's probably best to add an extra little five minutes here in case things need to be removed and you need to bump up the episode. So I reckon we keep going. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, great. I would love to at least get my chicken piece rating on the record so I'm happy to keep going and you know the people at KFC maybe they're going to get a bonus five minutes.
Starting point is 00:27:12 And for the consumer as well. Well you're always getting bang for buck at KFC. Yes, bang for buck, buck, buck as they I think believe that's their slogan. No it is. Maybe it should be. Their slogan is it's finger looking good that you can see on their slogan. No, it is. Well, it should. Maybe it should be. It's finger-licking good. Maybe it should be. You can see on their buckets. Now. That's because, of course,
Starting point is 00:27:28 you've probably got some of those 11 herbs and spices sort of remaining on your fingers. And I certainly, before I use that wet wipe, I'll lick my fingers. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll lick those fingers just to get that delicious urban spice. Yeah. Can I can I hear a bit of that? Yeah, it didn't really make a sound, but he didn't do it. No, no, no, but it's cause he's a gentle creature.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Yeah. He's a soft gentle. Let's see if we can get a sound there going. I mean, very lightly. And these are good microphones. Mostly breathing that I'm hearing. And that'll, that'll, that'll do it. I reckon well Yeah, but if I was up if I was to be fair what he wants a kiss
Starting point is 00:28:09 That's not how I look my fingers and to be fair. It's so good. I'm not making noises I'm just going but I think just for this I think Mmm. Oh, that's good chicken. Yeah, but that's that's performative and when I'm eating KFC chicken I'm my true authentic self. And I just lick my fingers like this. He's doing the Noah Bombach version. Noah Bombach version of the licking the, yeah. Whether it's marriage story or one of the other ones.
Starting point is 00:28:38 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh yeah. That's his involvement in the Barbie film. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's my goal in life is in the same way that Noel von Bach has explored divorce from many different perspectives. I hope to one day have a series of films exploring enjoying eating KFC, enjoying serving KFC, enjoying working at a KFC.
Starting point is 00:29:01 Well, I hope your dream comes true. Fingers crossed. I know Laura Dern is interested in my serving KFC. Well I hope your dream comes true. Fingers crossed I know Laura Dern is interested in my serving KFC film. Wow that I can't wait to see it at the movies. She's a huge star of the silver screen. She serves. Jurassic Park. So we've done the drumstick. We've done the rib. So drumstick number five. Yeah, rib, rib. Number two. Number two. All 10 out of 10s.
Starting point is 00:29:31 Oh, yeah, I've given these both a 10. A five. Number five, it's a ranking here. Yeah, yeah. That five, that number, you know, you could might as well just say this. I'm making a ranking of my the best foods ever. Ever. So yes, it might be number five in my cuts of chicken, but the KFC chicken
Starting point is 00:29:51 drumstick is my number five favourite food ever. Well, that's a 10 for me. 10 out of 10. It's a three. Number three. Number three. Yeah. Great.
Starting point is 00:30:03 That's the wing. The time, that tiny little drumstick right at the end of that wing is such a delicious little morsel. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's everything the drumstick wants to be. Some would say they're even a little wicked. Well that's a story for another time. Yeah, definitely Alphabas favourite cut.
Starting point is 00:30:22 The wicked witch of the West. From the Wicked Witch. Next piece of chicken. The next piece of chicken is going to be the thigh. Now controversial choice. Yeah. 10. Wow. 10 out of 10.
Starting point is 00:30:35 Yeah. And I agree with that. Yeah. I'm going to put that at number four. I'm a white meat kind of guy when it comes to KFC chicken. If it were a slow cooked sort of a slow cooked dish at home I might incorporate thigh but for the KFC chicken it's the number four. Well now let's move on to the final and rudest piece of chicken, the breast.
Starting point is 00:31:02 Tough time, tough call. That's a 10 for me. So you're giving that one a 10? Turn that dial up a little bit of a reference to one of my favourite comedy films. Turn that dial up to 11 because the chicken breast is 11. Spinal tap. That was a spinal tap reference. Turn that dial up to 11. And of course I've revealed all my other rankings.
Starting point is 00:31:28 That's very clear. The chicken breast is my number one piece of chicken. I love the white meat. I think it contrasts beautifully with the crunch and the spice of a hot and spicy or even just the flavors of the 11 herbs and spices original recipe. Yeah. Um, I just think a juicy breast piece of chicken is like nothing else. I just, I agree with both of you on your rankings, on your passion, on everything you've had to say about KFC up until this point, if I'm being honest.
Starting point is 00:32:05 Well, well, that's the end of this episode, isn't it? Yeah. I think we've done enough of this, yappin'. It's time to just get off this and have some lunch. Yes. Stop using our mouths for talking. A secondary purpose for the mouth, because the main purpose of the mouth is for eating.
Starting point is 00:32:23 Transferring the food into energy through our body. Get that delicious KFC into my proverbial gullet. Who by the way, who by the way, it's probably worth mentioning, are the sponsors of today's episode. I don't think like, cause I know we came in here to talk. Yeah, I was going to do this anyway I know we came in here to talk. Yeah, I was going to do this anyway. We're going to do this anyway. Yeah, this was, this was, we called KFC. We said, look, we're going to be doing this podcast.
Starting point is 00:32:53 This sort of straight coming in during our time off. Insert into the middle of a bunch. I'm going to have short hair for one video and then it's going to go back to love for a couple of months. They were like, we want to get on. They were like, if you're already going to do that, for one video and then it's going to go back to long for a couple of months. They were like, we want to get on, they were like, if you're already going to do that, we want to get on that wave. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:11 And once again, too much talking, not enough having chicken for lunch. So let's wrap up this podcast so we can stop doing what you just described, talking, and start doing what I'm interested in doing, which is eating this chicken. God. And I can't wait. And what are you interested in?, which is eating this chicken. God. And I can't wait. And what are you interested in? Are you interested in wrapping up this podcast? We need to wrap up this podcast immediately. To stop yappin' like little doggies and start eating like, uh, well,
Starting point is 00:33:40 little doggies eat too, but we'll be eating like kings. We'll be eating like, like, yeah, like royalty. And you're worth noting as well if you see the visuals, Zach has comedically put one of the buckets on his head. I am wearing the bucket on my head. Yes. I am, I am wearing the bucket on my head for the video, but not for the audio. For the audio, I don't want to distract from the chicken.
Starting point is 00:34:02 And in fact, I'm enjoying all of this talking that we're doing. But have you thought, I've been thinking, this mouth, this mouth was not, you know, these boots are made for walking and that's just what they'll do. One of these days these boots are going to walk all over you. What if we change the lyrics to something like, this mouth was made for talking, but that's not what it's going to do. After this podcast, this mouth is going to eat some KFC chicken. Good, goodbye.
Starting point is 00:34:35 Good night. Good night and good luck. You've been listening to the Aunty Donna podcast. Thanks for joining us for another RIP episode brought to you by Aunty Donna Club dot com. See you next week!
