Starting point is 00:00:00 Get our legends, I'm off into another rip episode of the Anti-Donna podcast. This week we have the movie podcast where Broughton Mark and Zach took all things movies and cinema. If you're loving the Anti-Donna pod, you can get access to the video and a whole bunch of bonus episodes by heading over to anti-Donnaclub.com. You listen to the only proper podcast The greatest fucking podcast in the world Burden, my Kentucky sometimes and guess We hope you enjoy the part of my podcast Hello everyone, thanks for listening
Starting point is 00:00:33 Just before we start the comedic podcast Just wanted to get everyone across the fact Zach went to make a coffee with a coffee pod machine just out of shot. And also worth mentioning in the dark, it's quite dark where we are. Yeah, we are away from all the lights. Because of the Patreon video that we shoot for the Patreon,
Starting point is 00:00:55 all the lights and our fancy film lights, so the coffee area is in the dark. That's clear. Now, he's accidentally made a hot chocolate instead of... Because there were hot chocolate pods. The guy didn't know existed until I came here, looked at my coffee and said, this looks like chocolate.
Starting point is 00:01:14 It's nice, but it's morning. And, you know, I said, I'm a millennial sweet. It's made out coffee. It's enough morning. You need your coffee in the morning. So just morning and you're morning for your coffee So just be aware that Zach may have a weird energy
Starting point is 00:01:29 It's because he's had a hot chocolate for breakfast and when have I ever not had a weird energy? Well, you know different to your usual energy. All right. We ready? Yep Welcome to the movie podcast podcast where where we talk all things, movies and cinema. And we are all, I think the beautiful thing about this podcast if you are listening for the first time is we all have different tastes in films, Broden loves action films, like Godzilla, God of Kings.
Starting point is 00:02:00 King of monsters. Now you're like, is that what is that? God of kings. He's the God of the kings. His king of monsters. No. No, I'm pretty sure. Godzilla.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Godzilla, right? The movie, I'm just, we can just agree on that. His king monster. His king monster, yes. I'll admit that he is king monster. He's God of. He's King Monster. Yes, I'll admit that he is King Monster. He's God of the King Monsters. Sure. And what they're saying with that title,
Starting point is 00:02:29 he's God of all the kings. Because I mean, who's the better king, who's the better king than the King Monster? Those kings are old men. This one is a monster king. Yeah. So he's God of the kings. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:43 It stars early edition. Oh yes, yes. Early edition. Early edition. The Stranger Things. And football coach. Early edition football coach. We're just going to talk about our favorite movies. Yeah, like God of Kings.
Starting point is 00:02:59 Yes. Absolutely. Was it called Godzilla or was it just called God of Kings? God of Kings. I didn't say it. was it just called God of Kings? God of... I didn't say it. Have you guys seen God of Kings? God of Kings? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:11 No, with the lizard, with God of Kings. No, that's Godzilla God of Kings. God of Kings is the one with Gerard Butler and it's about Egypt. Oh yes, yes, yes. Similar title, but it's the one about all the kings of Egypt. Yes, God of kings. Yes Have you seen the one where it's only 300 Soldiers fighting off the Persians the Greeks the Greeks the Greeks. Have you seen her that movie called a bunch of boys? Hmm a bunch of boys. I didn't say a bunch of boys
Starting point is 00:03:42 But they're incredible a bunch of boys a bunch of boys. I didn't say a bunch of boys. But they go. Incredible. A bunch of boys. A bunch of boys is fantastic. Movie that I didn't say. I didn't see it though. Jackson Ida's real breakthrough. A bunch of boys. Yeah. You need to get into world cinema. You need to get into the films of Akira Kaua's.
Starting point is 00:03:59 He made run. What's that mean? Well, run was, have you seen Star Battles? No. So, Star Battles is a big movie from George. And Star Battles is, in the art, like, the aeroplane fighters in the sky. Oh, George made that. Star Battles.
Starting point is 00:04:19 But Ron. So many Star Battles movies now since Disney bought them. Ron is Disney by Star Battles. Yeah. And you know what Star Battles is? Yeah. How many star battles movies now since Disney bought them? Run is Disney by Star Battle. Yeah, I knew they bought Star Wars. We did they buy Star Battles as well. Yeah, yeah. Am I talking about the same thing?
Starting point is 00:04:31 The Star Wars is George Lucas' film. You said George made the Star Battle. George, he's just George, he's a part of it. Star Battles. You not seen Star Battles? No, no. What Star Batt battles are there? That's very anti to the concept of the podcast.
Starting point is 00:04:49 Is that a hot chocolate? Is that a chocolate so he's fucking lost it? I'd have my fucking coffee, I would have been stinking. Brody knew I did God of Kings. And he was like, we hadn't started the podcast. He was like, God, that's not the name of the film anyway. Let's get into this silly name. You need to cut, sack down immediately, start of the point. It's my favorite movie.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Yeah, yeah. Anyway, Star Battles from George. It's the sad story of Ray and she lives on tattooing. But then when Darth Maul tries to catch her, she has to go and be taught by a little wizard alien voiced by the lady from 12 years of slave. And it's there. Sarah Paulson? No, Lupita Nyunga.
Starting point is 00:05:43 All right. And it's there that she discovers that she is a Jedi. Mm. It's a bit, they got Star Battle. Got some of them mixed up. No, it's just Star Battles. No, Star Wars. Star Wars does exist in this universe. No, there's Star Wars.
Starting point is 00:05:58 I just said, right, he's gone back. He's gone back. I think you're mistaken. He's gone Star Battle. He's back on the concept. Star Battle. Um, have you seen the, He's gone back. I think you're mistaken. He's gone. He's back on the concept. He's back on the concept. Um, have you seen the, but what I'm trying to say is all the, all the nerds that look, star battles is everything.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Well, they haven't seen the films of Akira Kow's who had spied it with his film Run. I don't know what you, I don't know. Run is a four hour epic about samurai. Have you seen the 13th samurai? Also by Kara Kels. Run? Yeah. Is it June? You're doing run? No.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Oh, June. Oh, I love June. June is fantastic. That was a really high concept, beautiful sci-fi. Yeah, June. June. I didn't care for the sequel July. Yeah, that's coming out soon I think yeah, oh July is gonna be great. Yeah, yeah, fuck better. We love movies. We do love movies We love movies. We're talking about them one of my favorite ones has
Starting point is 00:07:02 Ryan Gosling in it. Yeah. And he plays a man, he's in a car, driving. Oh, you're driving? Have you seen driving? I'm driving his good. I remember driving Gosling film though. Have you seen, it was a bit of an indie film, Lars and the Sextal? Oh yeah, Lars and the Sextal is a great one.
Starting point is 00:07:20 It's about, he plays a weird dude, right? Yeah. And he gets a Sextal in the mail. mail and you think he would just fall for a relationship with it, but he just fucks him for the whole move. It reminds me because I first saw Gosling in a film made by Disney about two schools joining together to play football, called racial football. I love racial football. The one's racial football.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Denzel Washington, racial football. The one's racial football. Densel Washington. Oh, racial football. Oh, racial football. And he gets into a car accident. Yeah. Yeah, but he's fine. But he's fine. Have you seen all the movies I love that talk about racism, but where they don't point the finger at any white people?
Starting point is 00:07:59 Like, it's just a general vague racism. Is the one about the moon? Have you seen the moon one? It had the three, the amazing, it had Kevin Costner and the three. Oh yeah, yeah, it was about the moon. Computers used to be people did, you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:14 Ah! Ah! Ah! And I was like, thank God that's the title because they were calling the people computers. Yeah, yeah. Because they do computing.
Starting point is 00:08:22 Yeah. There's one People did computer didn't you know computers used to be people didn't you know I love Kevin Costner. Oh, I love Kevin Costner I think discovered that racism existed in the middle of that He just like no, they're like oh, we're not allowed to use this toilet I said what's this and like it's a thing called racism. And he's like, no, no, I won't have it. And they're like, thank you, Kevin Kostner.
Starting point is 00:08:54 I am crazy. I love Kevin Kostner, one of my favorite actors of the early 90s. His baseball movie where he builds a field in his backyard. Yeah, I know that one. Called Corn City. Corn City. Corn City?
Starting point is 00:09:09 Yeah. He starts with the baseball field but the plan is to make a whole city in the corn. Yeah. Because the voices say, build a city in the corn. It's a good investment. So he builds Corn City. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:22 But first he goes on a road trip with Darth Vader. What? He goes on a road trip with Darth Vader. What? He goes on a road trip with Darth Vader and then he builds corn city. Right, right. So it's best for me. My favorite movie from him is Water. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:36 Oh, Water's great. In brackets, let's go swim in. Let's go swim in. Let's go swim in. That's where a movie about the whole world is water. It's a water world and it's called water. Let's go swimming. Let's go swimming.
Starting point is 00:09:48 Darth Vader was in a movie that I absolutely love by an incredible director, the daughter of the man that made the godfather. Oh, yeah. And have you seen all the kids ain't fucked and now they're dead? Yeah, yeah, yeah. All the kids ain't done. All the kids ain't done no fucks and now they're dead. Oh, yeah. yeah. All the kids ain't done no fucks and now they're dead.
Starting point is 00:10:06 Oh, yeah. All the kids ain't done no fucks and now they're dead. Yeah, all the kids ain't done no fucks. All the kids ain't done no fucks and now they're dead. Because James L. Jones, sorry, Darth Vader. He's in that, first time I saw him was in the story of Lazy Kids. Have you seen Lazy Kids? No.
Starting point is 00:10:22 The kids are, they go and play baseball every day. Oh, I've not seen Lazy Kids. It's about... it's about... it's an... Stulge at the look at the 50s where these kids go and play baseball in a sand lullaby. Yeah, sand... sand pit boys. Oh, they had different name in Australia. Oh, yeah, they've had changed things. I always knew it was sand pit boys.
Starting point is 00:10:39 I knew it was Lazy Kids. Yeah, I... I love that film. I love those early 90s ones. Yeah, but I spread the ones about the kids like, little cunts, I've been saying little cunts. On the bed they walk around, they'll falf. Yeah, with the little fucking cunts. I was more of a fan of that one.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Little fuck with. I was more of a fan of duck. Duck. Duck boys. Duck boys. Duck boys was good. Duck boys was good. Charlie Sheen taught them to play hockey.
Starting point is 00:11:06 I thought, when I was a kid, I thought, because of Billionaire Duck. Billionaire Duck? The cartoon about the billionaire duck who swims in the golf coins. Oh, yeah. I thought it was going to be about Billionaire Duck. He's so rich.
Starting point is 00:11:22 That duck. Those 90 films, 90s films. So rich. Especially comic. Those 90 films, 90 films. So rich. Especially comic book films about kids like, have you guys seen Marat Dad's gone? Marat Dad's gone. Yeah. About the turtles.
Starting point is 00:11:35 Oh, Marat Dad's gone. The under ground. Yeah. Marat Dad's gone. I love my Rat Dad's gone. Yeah. Yeah. Speaking of rich, my favorite movie is a kid who is entitled Cunt. He had his
Starting point is 00:11:49 own McDonald's. Do you remember that? I remember entitled Cunt. He was also when the burglars are coming. Yeah, yeah, yeah, got to set them traps. All the sea pool. Now I'm in the burglar town. Now, uh-oh. Yeah, yeah, that's a great one. Yeah, because they come to hear me. The burglar's are coming. In the first one, and then in the second one,
Starting point is 00:12:12 he goes to burglar town. But then the third one's great. I haven't seen it. Oh, you haven't seen same thing again, but different kid. I don't see gold. Yeah, same thing again, but different kid. I would have thought they would have just called it, I'm in Berglotown now, I'll too.
Starting point is 00:12:27 No, no, no, no. No, no, no. No kid at home. Yeah. I like same thing, but different kids. I think we can talk about Australian films. Oh, I love the street, I agree. Oh, yeah.

Yeah, yeah, oh, who killed the girls? Who killed the girls? Where the girls in the cliff? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Or my personal favorite Australian film,
Starting point is 00:12:50 an absolute classic, The House. It's about a boy, a man whose house is getting taken from the airport, and he goes, The house. And he talks about how he's like, to use as a castle, but to me it's my house. Yeah, yeah. I really like a fishing chip shop.
Starting point is 00:13:08 Ain't you worried? Yeah, I really like fishing chip shop. That's one of my favorite. I love that. I love that, like, more serious ones though. Like, have you seen? Oh, barrel boys. Yeah, barrel more, all barrel boys.
Starting point is 00:13:24 Do you know the first film in Australia? Yeah true history of Mr. Murderer I'm true history of Mr. Murderer. Wow, but they've only got 18 minutes of the footage That was an hour and 20 long film but now it's only 18 minutes that I've got left. Have you guys seen similar, similar,
Starting point is 00:13:50 similar, very hard hitting? It's probably the film that started the crime Australia genre. Yeah. Disney's Animal Kingdom. Bend Mendelssohn. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's about Ben Mendelssohn, Joel Edgerton. And they all go for a trip to the nature themed. They go on a safari.
Starting point is 00:14:10 They go on the mountain. Yeah, yeah. They go to India. There's an India section. And they go to the forest. Yeah. They go to India. The... Yeah. Yeah. They go to India.

My favorite Tony Collette film was gotta be shh, don't tell anyone Bruce Willis is dead. Yeah, and that was the title of the movie, because they never wanted to. Well, the idea was, it was about spreading the word to not give away the ending.
Starting point is 00:15:55 But that's, Sharma Lone, he had a whole series of them, because then his next film was like, shh, don't tell anyone that Samuel Ajax is the bad guy. Yeah. And then shh, don't tell anyone that Samuel Jackson's the bad guy. Mm, yeah. And then shh, don't tell anyone that the village is in now times. No, I'm sorry for no, that he also made don't tell mum the baby cities. Yeah, that's it, I'm not showing.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Is originally that was the twist. Originally that was a real name for a movie. Originally that was just partying, doing it going about their stuff. And then they were like, and you're like, how is the baby city letting them letting them get away. Yeah, when you're a kid. Did you ever watch don't Honey, I killed the kids? And they found out about it after the success of Devil Toys and then DreamWorks made a bugs life. Not a very creative name. No, because DreamWorks also, they were trying to do the Disney things.

Top 250 movies. I'll read you the IMDB top 250 movies. Well, why don't we play it as like a bit of a quiz?
Starting point is 00:23:45 Yeah. You tell us the plot and we try to guess the way we do it. Right. Well, it's about a man who's sentenced to a crime that he potentially did not commit and the friends he makes in prison, including Morgan Freeman's red. Oh, oh, I know this one.

Starting point is 00:25:24 The fifth film is about 12 jurors, very angry jurors. You got to stop giving away the title? 12 angry jurors. 12 jurors, very angry jurors. Oh. Why didn't you give it away the title? It's real, just read the description. That's what it's about.
Starting point is 00:25:45 Sorry. Tell us the movie title. The next one I'll use. I do love 12 jurors, 12 very angry jurors. The next is about World War II and a list in World War II. Oh, yeah. Shinla's Ark. Shinla's Ark.
