Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. I'm Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman, host of the psychology podcast. Here's a clip from an upcoming conversation about how to be a better you. When you think about emotion regulation, you're not going to choose an adaptive strategy which is more effortful to use unless you think there's a good outcome. Avoidance is easier. Ignoring is easier. Denials easier.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Complex problem solving takes effort. Listen to the psychology podcast on the. iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On the latest episode of Next Question with me, Katie Couric, I sat down with Jasmine Crockett, Democratic Representative of Texas. She's holding out the fork for her party in one of the most conservative states in the Union. I think that ultimately, who will become the Democratic nominee for president will be someone
Starting point is 00:00:52 that has been out there and has shown that they won't allow themselves to be punched and just say thank you. Like, they will punch back. Listen to next question with me, Katie Couric on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Why are TSA rules so confusing?
Starting point is 00:01:12 You got a hood of you. I'm take it off. I'm Manny. I'm Noah. This is Devin. And we're best friends and journalists with a new podcast called No Such Thing, where we get to the bottom of questions like that. Why are you screaming? I can't expect what to do. Now, if the rule was the same, go off on me.
Starting point is 00:01:28 I deserve it. You know, lock him up. Listen to No Such Thing on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. No such thing. All right, we are back, Joe. We are back, Joe and Serena. We're ready to recap, recap this episode of the premiere.
Starting point is 00:01:49 The premiere just went down. I have a lot of notes. You have a lot of notes? I have a lot of notes, too. And I'm excited to hear all. all of your thoughts. It was very weird watching the episode without you and then also not talking to you about it after.
Starting point is 00:02:05 Yeah. Okay, so my first note, actually, was the washed up. Caitlin saying washed up bachelor, I was like, that was funny. Talk about that, but we talked about that prior. So, Charity, we also talked about her. I mean, she looked great. Yeah. I already feel like I know so much more about her.
Starting point is 00:02:28 Let's talk about what do you, what do you think about the guys, the guys, limo entrances? I think I think the guys are good. Honestly, I would say like four or five of the limo entrances, I thought were so creative and just things that I hadn't seen before. And I feel like we saw less like very, very gimmicky entrances. Like no one came in on like a clown car or on like a donkey. Do you know what I mean? And, like, usually there's something that's, like, quite extravagant or something that's, like, super, super gimmicky.
Starting point is 00:03:02 And I feel like we didn't really see that. Like, I really... They seemed fast to me. Didn't the limo entrances, like, fly by? Yes, they did. I feel like it was, like, quick montage, but also it was pouring rain and charity looked stunning. Like, one of my favorite Bachelorette premiere outfits of all. time and we can get into fashion a little bit too because you know I want to talk about the fashion
Starting point is 00:03:31 and all the looks but like she looked freezing a little bit you know what I mean she didn't look freezing but more like I would imagine like standing outside in the middle of the night in the rain and a strapless dress probably was not her first choice you I don't know what's crazy is I think I watched um I watched the screener and the episode and I totally didn't realize it was raining What? Joe, they said it. I know. Jesse said it in the beginning of the episode. He's like Bachelor Mansion might look a little different tonight because of the weather. And they had a whole structure belt to cover her, which actually I thought was beautiful. I thought
Starting point is 00:04:12 that like kudos to the art department. Like it looked stunning. I thought they should honestly bring it back like next season. Yeah. Yeah. I have to go back. Wait, you didn't notice at any point. It was like torrential downpoint at one point she was like cozying up to all the guys in a fur shawl and like multiple guys were like i know it's freezing outside i saw brayden's breath at one point because it was so cold yeah no i'm man well i i'm the worst i guess uh you can don't have that in your notes i guess well um any any guys for just like i would say yeah connection wise that that that's that's the out for me my first one would probably be there there was two I thought and this and we're talking I'm just talking just limo entrances but I thought Joey and Aaron were the two that seemed to be the
Starting point is 00:05:08 strongest at the limo yeah I think I would agree with that um I'm trying to think yeah I would agree Aaron B you didn't mean right yeah the Aaron is the one that said made the AAA Ron joke the can't pee the joke. Yeah, and then he serenated her later on with like his piano. And then Joey, okay, wait, can we talk about Joey for a second? Because he described himself as a, what did he say? He's like, I'm a tennis instructing professional or like something along those lines where I'm like, wait, are you a tennis pro or are you just a tennis instructor?
Starting point is 00:05:46 And you're adding the word professional on the end of this title. I think he's a professional He teaches Yeah, yeah, yeah Okay, but does he instruct professional tennis players Or is he just a tennis instructor? He's a tennis instructor That's a professional
Starting point is 00:06:07 Okay, but like what would make you a non-professional tennis instructor Like an unofficial one that's not getting paid? Hmm, I don't know, well, I'm sure Maybe it was just me. Like I don't know if anyone else cared about this but I thought about it for a while. I actually wrote it down. I wrote like tennis pro, tennis instructing pro.
Starting point is 00:06:27 What does that mean? Well, maybe he needs like certain credentials in the tennis world to become a pro. So it probably like for me to go, look, because I want to take tennis lessons. Yeah. I'm sure the price point is high. Like that may be the highest price point for a tennis instructor. He's like the boogey tennis instructor. like he's at the really nice club
Starting point is 00:06:51 to get the pro yeah yeah yeah there you he's like he's like the one that's like teaching the housewives like if you're watching real housewives like Joey's their instructor yeah yeah out in Hawaii
Starting point is 00:07:03 yeah he lives in Hawaii too yeah which like is not a bad place to be living it looks like I like him though he's uh okay wait but like I have a question another thing about Joey honestly I don't know if it was just because
Starting point is 00:07:18 he was like early on in the episode or because they had the connection. But he came out with no tie on. And I was like, dude, what the heck? Like, put on a tie. It's night one on The Bachelor. Like, if there's a night to wear a tie, it's tonight. But then a lot of the guys weren't wearing ties.
Starting point is 00:07:33 And then I was trying to remember if you wore a tie on night one, and I couldn't remember. Not only did I not wear a tie. I didn't even consider wearing a tie. Really? Yeah. I mean, Charis is, like, black tie. And I'm not even a tie girl. Like, I love the look.
Starting point is 00:07:49 of a clean button up with like a suit jacket over top but i'm like come on guys like wear a freaking tie what are you talking about if you're going to do the fed ties aren't even in anymore ties are ties are so out ties are so out since i've never i've never even i've never worn a tie but well last time i've never worn a tie i'm i've worn a tie i've i've worn a tie but not with you yeah we were at my cousin's wedding and you didn't wear a tie there and you didn't wear a tie to your cousin's wedding in the winter too either no and that shirt i wore for your cousin's wedding was beautiful it had lemons on it was a very i'm probably going to bring that shirt to our honeymoon it's very italian you should it was it was lovely i was very skeptical about it originally but you rocked it but i don't know my personal
Starting point is 00:08:33 thing is i think if there's any night to wear a tie that's not your wedding night it's probably night one on the bachelor i don't know there's just a certain level of like formality but well maybe i'm wrong but I immediately wrote down like no tie next to Joey's name and then like all these other guys came out with that ties and I was like never mind he's fine for everyone listening if if if serena and I ever ever get divorced and they make her the bachelorette wear a tie where you better wear a tie you better be showing up with touch show me some respect and put on a tie okay then I have to mention like my favorite this was one of my favorite lines of um the whole episode was Spencer. Do you remember Spencer when he walked up? Oh, how could I forget, Spencer? She's like, when he walks away,
Starting point is 00:09:26 so Spencer's, again, it said, like, kick me in the balls, which made me feel like that. It's kind of like his, like maybe he has a fetish for something like that. That's kind of how I felt. She was like, wow, what a wild card. I was like that that was funny because he is a wild card
Starting point is 00:09:47 and I'm so happy so happy she kept him. You know what I was thinking about? Oh, I'm so happy she kept him too. Like I want to see as much of him as I possibly can. He has one of the most
Starting point is 00:09:58 unique personalities on the show right now. But I was like when I first saw him, I was like, what is going on? Like when he first started speaking to her? And then he said the joke and I was like, okay, like maybe he was just nervous
Starting point is 00:10:13 about this joke and that's why there was such like an awkward delivery, like maybe it was the delivery because I feel like that could have been funnier if it was like delivered differently but also like what is she going to do like actually kick you in the balls? Like I don't really know, whatever.
Starting point is 00:10:30 And then when they're the one-on-one chat by the fireplace I was like, oh no, he's just a bit of like a quirky dude. Yeah, she should have kicked him in the balls. It would have been funny. I was like, I don't know. I didn't want her to kick him in the balls obviously but like that would have been a shocker. like imagine she was just like yeah okay man like let's go yeah yeah great i would i would love
Starting point is 00:10:49 that um okay can i say some of my favorite entrances yeah and i want to hear if you what you thought about them yes okay so i really like john and i loved his fortune cookie entrance do you remember yes i liked him i thought he was good he seemed extremely comfortable as well yeah he was like my standout like from the gecko from that and then i think they made out too Yeah. Yeah, he wasn't my standout, but I liked him. Who else? No? And then I liked the coin flip entrance, which I can't remember right now. It's, it's, oh, wait, that was Aaron. Was that Aaron B? Yeah, Aaron B. Don't, I. You didn't like that. You're a gambler. I thought for sure you would like that entrance. Don't like a, I just feel, I don't like a coin flip. I'm not, I don't, not into the, the coin flip thing. I just feel like it's an easy. Yeah. I feel like it's kind of like an easy pickup. line. I don't know. Do you think they gave him a two-sided coin? I'm like, there's no way you got
Starting point is 00:11:48 this lucky twice. Yeah, it's definitely a two-sided coin, which I wish it wasn't a two-sided coin. The gambler and me wanted to not be a two-sided coin because I wanted to see what would happen. Imagine it was Tails and it was like, all right, just like back in the limo headed home. Never saw him again. Yeah, oh, that would also be very funny. That would make for great TV. If we got, if that happened and a kick in the balls, I'd be like, wow, we are in for a treat. This is a different kind of boucherick, he said. We've got a guy sending himself home after first meeting her, and another dude getting kicked in the balls.
Starting point is 00:12:24 I'm Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman, host of the psychology podcast. Here's a clip from an upcoming conversation about exploring human potential. I was going to schools to try to teach kids these skills, and I get eye rolling from teachers or I get students who would be like, it's easier to punch someone in the face. When you think about emotion regulation, like you're not going to choose an adaptive strategy which is more effortful to use unless you think there's a good outcome as a result of it if it's going to be beneficial to you. Because it's easy to say like go you, go blank yourself,
Starting point is 00:12:56 right? It's easy. It's easy to just drink the extra beer. It's easy to ignore to suppress seeing a colleague who's bothering you and just like walk the other way. Avoidance is easier. Ignoring is easier. Denials is easier. Drinking is easier. Yelling, screaming is easy. complex problem solving, meditating, you know, takes effort. Listen to the psychology podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So in the last month, the Midas Touch Network beat Rogan, Tucker Carlson, Candice Owens, Charlie Kirk, and Ben Shapiro all combined. Conservative podcasts can have a major political impact. But the Myceles brothers, three siblings with a serious media strategy,
Starting point is 00:13:41 are building an alternative to that. On the latest episode of Next Question with Katie Couric, I sat down with the brothers behind the Midas Touch Network to talk about how they built a progressive media powerhouse from the ground up, why audience interaction is the key to political influence and what it takes to fight disinformation at scale, one download at a time.
Starting point is 00:14:03 We should be focusing on the issues that actually occupy a lot of the mental space in Americans' minds, but are filled with conspiracies, and we should fill it with the truth and solutions. Listen to next question with me, Katie Couric on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you.
Starting point is 00:14:36 But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh, my God, perfect. And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Open your free IHeartRadio app. Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. So are those your two standouts?
Starting point is 00:15:00 Yeah, and then I like the plane ticket one too, but like I'm just like, you're never going to make that flight. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I liked him, though. I liked him. I think he's going to stick around for a little bit. I liked him too. I thought it was, again, like something that I hadn't seen before of him being like. And it was a cute story.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Like he was like my parents met on a flight, you know. Like the gesture was very cute and memorable. Who I liked and I thought he was very smooth. And I think she's going to be really into him is Dotton, Doughton. The really tall guy. Yeah. he's the one from Nigeria. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:42 He's, and he's tall, too. I actually wrote this in my notes. The amount of times they were commenting on guys' heights, like start putting their height next to their age. Like, or like start flashing on the screen.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Like, for me, everyone is tall. So when they're like, whoa, he's so tall. I'm like, what does that mean? Like, is that six feet? Is that six, five feet? Like, I need numbers. Also, how about how we got Jesse Palmer's age? So Jesse Palmer host,
Starting point is 00:16:08 44. What? No way. I did not see that. They put his title like he put, they put his title like he was a contestant. Yeah. Jesse Palmer host, 44. I was like, oh, that's funny. It's funny. Wait, that's hilarious.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Do they put Charity's age? Um, I don't know. They may have, but I don't, I don't, I don't remember seeing it. That's hilarious. Yeah. I wonder if they put Occupation host of the Bachelor franchise. Yeah. What do you, what do you think about Charity's brother?
Starting point is 00:16:43 Because I have a, I have a few things. I have a few things to say about this. I feel like I saw like mixed feedback on this. Like some people were like, this was cringy or like this wasn't fair to the guys. I love her brother and I loved every second of it. Honestly, it was kind of cheesy, but like I just thought it was hilarious. And the guy that went up to him and was like, dude, I recognize you. Like, you look so familiar.
Starting point is 00:17:07 I'm like, okay, this man's obviously been like. like stalking Charity's Instagram page on the reg before he showed up here because like when else I guess he was on last season actually I would have I would have what did Charity go to hometown yes yeah yeah she went to home times yeah he was there I would have I would have pointed him out immediately I would have been him instantly I would have and I wouldn't have had a single clue and I would have been chatting with him like he was just another bartender but you have an exceptional gift with like facial recognition yeah do you know what what I mean? But at the same time, did you ever chat with the bartenders when you were on the show?
Starting point is 00:17:44 Not Paradise. Obviously, like, Wells doesn't count. Yeah, no. I don't even remember there being a bartender there when we were first there. But. See, I did. I would chat with, if the bartenders were chatty, I'd be like, oh, how's your night going? Like, yeah, I would have, I would have definitely chat it with them. Yeah, like, if they were like, oh, did you talk to her? Like, what'd you think? Yeah. Sure. I'd be like, yeah, this is, this is everything that happened. I'll Lay all out for you in detail. Yeah, for sure. Like, yeah, and that was, we'll talk about a little because we're going to have Brayden on this episode. Yeah, do you want to give your initial thoughts on him, though? And then we can obviously talk about it more when he comes on.
Starting point is 00:18:24 Yes, I will, and I'll do that right now. But I do want to say about Charity's brother. The one, I don't have an issue with it. Like, it's fun, it's cheesy. The one thing, when he's doing his interviews, it's very hard for me to separate him as her brother and not think he's a contestant. What? Really? Yeah, because when he's could, he can definitely be on the show.
Starting point is 00:18:52 So when he's talking, I'm kind of like, wait a minute. He's like of the same age as the other guys. He's like a good looking guy. Like he looks like someone who would be cast on The Bachelorette. Yeah, so that's what I'm saying. So I had to keep like reminding myself like, oh, yeah, he's her brother. He's not trying to... He's not trying to date her?
Starting point is 00:19:12 He's not trying to date her. I didn't have that issue at all. That's so funny. Because I feel like, I don't know, there was this, like, they felt like they had, like, similar mannerisms and, like, diction and the way they spoke. Like, I don't know. There was something that felt, like, similar to me. So, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:19:33 I guess that's how I looked at it. Also, like, I just remembered that it was her brother. that's funny um yeah okay so brayden um so he's the only one that got caught in the the brother trap yeah so the brother was definitely i personally from watching this so he was talking to her brother the bartender and after his like one-on-one time with charity which went really well um he was just like yeah he was like i'm stoked i personally personally, didn't think he was bragging. I just thought he seemed excited.
Starting point is 00:20:14 Yeah, I think so, too. I mean, I don't think it's the best move to be going around to all the other guys and talking about how you guys kissed. Like, it's just not great etiquette, but it's also night one. And this guy seemed so over the moon, like, so excited that he kissed her and about their connection, like just genuine excitement radiating off of him. And if you think you're talking to one of the bartenders, like, who cares? You know what I mean? Like, he's probably thinking like, yeah, this is just someone that's like a neutral person in this environment that I can like vent to about how
Starting point is 00:20:53 happy I am. Um, so I felt a little bad for him there. But I didn't think he was like, oh yeah, like I got this in the bag. Like there was the level of like a player to him. Like he was just like so happy, which as a woman, to find out, like, oh, I was into this guy and we kissed, and then he went back and couldn't talk about, like, how happy he was and excited about me. Like, that's got to feel really good for charity. You know what I mean? She even said it. She's like, I want to be with someone who wants to make it known that they're with me and is excited about it and isn't scared to, like, share that with people. Like, isn't too cool to express their excitement about me. I loved it. I thought when she gave him the first impression rose, I was like, power. That was
Starting point is 00:21:34 a power move. Yeah, but I will say when he came out with the limo, oh, I don't even know if I want to say I did this. I wrote down
Starting point is 00:21:43 shot dude Braden to like remember and then I wrote down villain question mark. Like something about his intro package or his interaction
Starting point is 00:21:52 with her. I don't know what it was. I was just like, ooh, like something's setting me off here. Okay. That's that
Starting point is 00:21:57 and I think that's a lot of people and I think right now after watching it, he's the guy like all this. And especially we even see like, you know, the preview for the entire season, it seems, it seems like he may be the villain of the season.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Yeah, you think? Yeah. Well, I don't. I personally think. I think he's definitely going to make some waves. Oh, he's definitely going to make some waves because he's already being super outspoken about his connection, which just never goes over well. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:30 But I think with, so there's definitely going to be a feud with him. and Aaron. Aaron B. Yeah. And right now I feel like Aaron's like the, you know, the classier of the two. Like I won't kiss and tell or anything. But I feel like Aaron is going to get too obsessed. Is it the right word?
Starting point is 00:22:54 But he's going to focus. I feel like he's going to end up focusing too much on Braden and Braden and Charity's connection. and it's going to it's going to screw his connection up that's what i think oh i hope not but maybe i love i love a good prediction you don't you didn't you didn't you didn't get any of that i don't know no not really to be honest but okay i don't know but i could see it like they both seem like erin v and brayden seem like very different guys like yeah whether one's going to be right or one's going to be wrong like i'm not sure the situation but like
Starting point is 00:23:33 Like, when I see them both separately, like, I don't, it doesn't scream future best friends to me. So, like, I could see that being the case. I don't think he's going to, yeah, I can't see Brayden having too many, too many friends on this season. I feel like people are already, are already, like, gun in for him, don't you think? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, 100%. Because night one, you're there for so long.
Starting point is 00:24:01 So much happens for the, it gets like. kind of boring like once you've talked to the lead you know you're probably not going to talk to them again you're sitting around with all of these people you've just met it's like hours and hours go by you're tired everyone's just looking for something to do and talk about and something that they have in common with these other people that they've just met that are from all over the US so when one dude starts running his mouth about I've been kissing our girlfriend or whatever you want to call her I've been kissing charity like that's something that they're instantly going to band together and be against.
Starting point is 00:24:37 Do you know what I mean? Like, you've immediately put a target on your back and you've immediately given all these guys something to be like, yo, have you heard Braden? Like, he won't stop talking about how he kissed charity. Like, it's so annoying. It's so frustrating to hear. I don't want to hear that. So, like, I don't necessarily think that Braden was being a jerk.
Starting point is 00:24:51 Like, his energy to me was really just giving, like, joy and excitement. But, like, he's got to reel it in or it's just going to get worse and worse. I'm Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman, host of the psychology podcast. Here's a clip from an upcoming conversation about exploring human potential. I was going to schools to try to teach kids these skills, and I get eye rolling from teachers or I get students who would be like, it's easier to punch someone in the face. When you think about emotion regulation, like you're not going to choose an adaptive strategy which is more effortful to use unless you think there's a good outcome as a result of it,
Starting point is 00:25:30 if it's going to be beneficial to you. Because it's easy to say, like, go blank yourself, right? It's easy. It's easy to just drink the extra beer. It's easy to ignore, to suppress, seeing a colleague who's bothering you and just, like, walk the other way. Avoidance is easier. Ignoring is easier. Denial is easier.
Starting point is 00:25:47 Drinking is easier. Yelling, screaming is easy. Complex problem solving. Meditating. You know, takes effort. Listen to the psychology podcast on the IHartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Starting point is 00:27:29 Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. Well, I'm excited. I'm excited to talk to Braden. So we'll- Me too. I am excited to talk to him. We have a lot of questions. We have a lot of questions, Trim. Oh, yeah. You know, it was another standout guy to me. And Dotton, by the way, is my number one. Like, if I had to choose right now. Yeah. Okay. I'm excited about him. Yeah. If I had to choose right now, I think, I think he's final three. Okay. Xavier. Xavier. Xavier.
Starting point is 00:28:01 Okay, I feel like he kind of flew under the radar a little bit. You think so? I thought he was a standout. Remind me. He's a scientist. He did. Oh, yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:12 He's like knits. He's a scientist. The guy's in great shape. Yes, yes. You're right. You're right. He was a catch. And they made out.
Starting point is 00:28:22 They did. Okay, yeah. I wonder how many kisses there were total. Okay. wait let's make some overall predictions like top four predictions top four all right done yeah okay do you want to go first you go first okay oh fresh i'm just really hoping you went first yeah you i'll go first i'll go first um dotton okay joey okay okay xavier okay and then i'm gonna throw in guy who we didn't see much of him yeah there's always one person i feel like that kind of comes out
Starting point is 00:29:05 of the woodwork we didn't see much of him i handsome guy i got i got to i got to look up uh let me pull up the face the face sheet because i forget his name okay i've got it in front of me maybe i can help you i have it too okay tap to download and it's not downloading oh here we go um Tanner Tanner. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, he's good-looking guy. Those are my four. So my four, to reiterate, I have Doughton, Xavier, Tanner, and Joey. Those are my top four. Okay. I'm going to go, I'm going to go Aaron B. I'm going to go Joey as well. I'm going to go John. John's going to be up there, too. I'm going to agree with that. Definitely. If John's not in top four, I'll be shocked. I love him. I think I literally wrote down John. Love him. Yeah, I did. Um, and, hmm, who's my fourth pick? I feel like, yeah, there's always someone that like kind of sneaks through. There's always a sleeper. There's always a sleeper after the first episode. Where it's like they were like chill night one. You didn't really see them. I'm going to go Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Josh. Which one was Josh? Honestly, I don't remember a lot about him, but like looking at the face sheet, oh, he's the guy. Okay, this is the, you'll remember this. He's the guy that called out her brother that was like, are you wearing a fake mustache? Like, I know, I know you from somewhere. Yeah, no. I don't, I don't agree. You don't agree?
Starting point is 00:30:48 That's fine. That's fine. May, time will tell, you know? Okay. So whoever, whoever. Oh, wait, that's all. Did I pick all J's? No.
Starting point is 00:30:56 Joey, John, Josh, and Aaron B. All right. So this bet's for a fancy dinner. A fancy dinner. Okay. Okay. So whoever will go for a nice dinner and whoever loses us to pay. It's interesting, though.
Starting point is 00:31:13 Which doesn't really work because we're married. Yeah, I know. Neither of us picked Braden who got the first impression, Rose. Yeah, that's true. That is true. I don't know. I just feel like whenever something is that intense that quickly, like, I just feel like even if like there's no drama with him this season and this is like the most drama we're going to see, I feel like it's going to burn out. I just feel like it was like too, too hot too quick. Well, in the season preview, we literally hear him say, I'm going to beat your ass to someone. So. Oh, really? I miss that. Yeah, oh, really? Yeah, yeah. You see the fight. You hear it. You hear it for sure. Oh, okay. So you're like, yeah, like way too hot too quick. Like, yeah. Buddy needs to pull down. Wow, I just sounded a really Canadian there for a second. Buddy needs to cool down. Can we talk about quickly the jumper guy, the guy who wouldn't stop jumping? Yeah, we'll talk about the jumper guy. And then, you know, then I think we could, we'll have Brandon on and get into it. Ask him everything. What about the jumper guy?
Starting point is 00:32:26 Jumping around? Yeah, I don't really have much, like, deep thoughtful insight other than just like, dude, stop jumping. Yeah, the jumper and the wrestler guy. Okay, but I think the wrestler guy was just piggybacking on to the festivities. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. There was a, they actually...
Starting point is 00:32:48 But he's, I guess he's a world record holder, so he's probably like, like, if I was the world record holder in something, Like, if I was the world record holder for, like, the highest jumper, like, maybe I would also be jumping around, too. His name is Chris. We should call him by his name, Chris. Well, on our season, that happened on our season. We had a jumper. Wait, what?
Starting point is 00:33:08 Yeah, and his name was Chris. He was a dunker. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, and I remember that night one, they were like all, they were dunking a basketball. And I remember standing there like, what is going on here? This is so weird. But, yeah, unfortunately, it didn't work.
Starting point is 00:33:24 work out for Chris because he was jumping around and he couldn't stop jumping she didn't choose him any uh what was your favorite look my favorite look of the night i still got to choose my um welcome party look what did you think about the photo i sent you of adrian brodie i liked that suit that's what i'm probably doing i love that this is what i was hoping you were going to pick yeah the beige the beige suit with um with a white shirt but i feel like you should do a white t-shirt underneath a white t-shirt yeah because it's going to be it's going to be partially outside
Starting point is 00:33:56 and it's going to be really hot but you could do like a nice like a nice collared t-shirt underneath yeah I could like not a button up okay well your fashion choices are lovely
Starting point is 00:34:10 but let's talk about the men's fashion choices obviously it's hard to not pick charity as a highlight I mean like she just blew me away with her dress I'm not even like a pink girl really like i personally don't wear a lot of color and i was obsessed with her dress like i thought she looked stunning and i feel like it was different than what a lot of other match sweats wear because i feel like we see a lot of like silver and gold when it comes to the men i want
Starting point is 00:34:34 i want to step in here real quick not only are you not not only are you not a pink girl whenever you get sent anything that's pink you scream about it why did somebody send me why would anyone send me pink look at my page i never wear pink i hate pink so okay Okay, well, it's more, it makes me mad because it's wasteful. Do you know what I mean? Like, it's like, I don't want to, like, I'm just like someone else could have really enjoyed this. And I am getting, like, I'm not going to wear fuchsia. But who knows?
Starting point is 00:35:06 Maybe one day I'll change my mind and then I'll have all of these pink things to wear. Okay, my favorite look of the night is going to go to Aaron B. And that is because A, I thought it was bold of him to wear a tan su. I don't think anyone else was wearing a tan suit. And he had a white shirt underneath, which reminded me of your welcome party rehearsal dinner outfit that you're trying to wear. He wore a pink tie with it.
Starting point is 00:35:33 And I just thought it was different than what everyone wears. I mean, like, a lot of the guys show up in a black or navy suit, which is classic and great. And I love that look, but it definitely made him stand out to me. And on top of that, his tie matched, like, charity's dress. So I thought that was really cute. Like when he stepped out, I was like, oh, my God, they're matching.
Starting point is 00:35:53 Like, this is so cute. And yeah, it was like a bold fashion choice, but I liked it. Not necessarily a bold fashion choice, but like different than I feel like what people lean towards, at least the men. The girl that hates pink, you could still respect pink. I can still respect pink. There is a place in this world for pink. It's just not on my body. Yeah, I respect that.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Okay. All right. I think Carrie Fetman really outdid himself this time, huh? He did. And then my, my fashion choice worst would be the lack of ties. Okay. That was, that would have been my favorite. That would have been your favorite.
Starting point is 00:36:30 So that's okay. We, we don't have to hear my favorite one. I would love to. I would love to. What do you think if you had to think? If you had to, if you could remember all the looks. I think Joey, he wore a black suit with a black shirt underneath. Is that it?
Starting point is 00:36:45 Did I get it right? No way. I love, I love when you pair a suit, but make. it casual looking because i always think that just looks so clean that's like one of my favorite no when i saw well i noticed him because he was the first one that i was like oh he's not wearing a tie that's weird um but i also remember i did really like his outfit and i remember thinking joe would wear this for sure like it's it was very your style yeah yeah and he's got like the curly brown hair like yeah yeah that's um yeah that was my that was my favorite all right uh i think i'm i'm excited
Starting point is 00:37:18 see their looks moving forward into the season because once we get into more like day looks night looks i feel like you see people's styles come out a little bit more yeah i agree okay i think i think that i think we really summed up the entire episode i think they do too i feel like the main the main events for the entrances charity's brother okay wait so do you think it was fair that they had her brother there would you be mad would you be like they tried to trick me No, it was fair It was fair. It was fair. It was quite, it's not like, yeah. And honestly, if anyone said anything that should have warned it for them to get kicked off the show, then they deserve to get kicked off night one, you know?
Starting point is 00:38:05 Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you would have to be a real dummy to go up to the bartender when you're miced up in front of a camera and, like, talk bad about the lead. Like, then you're going home. Yeah. I think it was that girl. It was a girl. It was a girl. on Clayton season. I think it was Clayton season. But she's like, he doesn't like chicken wings or something. Yeah, she was like, I hate him.
Starting point is 00:38:27 Yeah, she was a girl going around being like, I hate him. Claire. Yeah, that was great. That was funny. That was funny. And then she got to send home and it was like, what did you expect, girlfriend?
Starting point is 00:38:37 You're going around saying, like, this is for the best for both of you, you know? Like, you don't want to be here. Like, he found out you hate him. Like, it's just not going to work out. So crazy. I was kind of hoping that something like that was going to happen where like someone went up to the bartender and was saying some outrageous stuff but
Starting point is 00:38:52 honestly i feel like the test just shows that she has a really good group of guys yeah i think so i'm excited i think it's going to be a fun season and i can't i can't wait to interview brayden because right now he's the most polarizing character and i'm excited to to hear his thoughts yeah i'm excited too he's going to be a great first guest for our first week on happy hour yeah and please and I can't forget to say it because I always forget to say it.
