Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. The American public is used to be. being entertained. We're a consumption society. So what Trump figured out is entertain them and they'll never question you. Starting point is 00:01:48 And on this week's episode, I'm talking to Olympian, World Cup champion, and podcast host, Ashlyn Harris. My worth is not wrapped up in... how many things I've won, because what I came to realize is I valued winning so much that once it was over, I got the blues, and I was like, this is it. For me, it's the pursuit of greatness. It's the journey. It's the people. It's the failures.
Starting point is 00:02:14 It's the heartache. Listen to The Bright Side on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Jamel Hill, host of the Sports and Sports. Politics podcast, Spolitics. And on the latest episode of Spolitics, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries joins me for a candid conversation about the state of the Democratic Party. What do Republicans say to you privately that they won't say publicly?
Starting point is 00:02:39 Many of them are in fear of their political lives. We continue to say to them, you were elected to defend your constituents and there's life after Congress. Make sure to listen to this episode of Spolitics on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey everyone. Welcome back to Bachelor Happy Hour. I'm Serena and I am here minus Joe today for a girl chat episode. We are joined by the lovely April. And April is not only from the first season of the Golden Bachelor, but is one of the first ever golden contestants to be down on the beaches for Bachelor in Paradise this season. Hi, April. Hi. I haven't been on for a long time. So I'd like to pretend that it's not a big deal, but it is. It is a big deal. And you know why it's also a big deal is because last time you were on, I was very sick and you were just here with Joe. And now Joe is not here and you're just here
Starting point is 00:03:37 with me. So you're getting some of our only solo episodes, which makes sense. So how are you doing? Good? Everybody's good over there. You've everything's good. Everything's wonderful. We're in New York. We're loving watching this season. We thought episode three was so fantastic. I'm in New York. I'm outside Nyack. Did you really? Oh my gosh. We're in West Chelsea. Oh, my God. Okay. Yeah. So I'm like, I'm going to try to get some work going out here and my family's out here. So my daughter went to UM and meets, you know, down in Miami, the Gables. And lo and behold, she meets a New Yorker and the rest is history. So, yeah. So I'm here. I'm in New York. How long have you been in New York? Not long enough to not get lost. I actually. get lost every time I go out. And last night there was a big rainstorm and I'm like, oh my God, I hope I get home all right. But yeah, but I love it. It has a great energy, great vibe. And I needed this. You know, Ralph had passed away. My partner of 23, 24 years. And I was stuck. And then I have two
Starting point is 00:04:48 grandchildren, a seven-year-old and a four-year-old little girl. So my accountant said, you know, you spent $10,000 in airfare in the last year. I went, oh, okay, I got to, I got to go to my family. I'm Italian. Yeah, you got to be near your family. Joe's Italian too. I get it. Yeah. All right. Let's backtrack. So you got the call and they said, April, we're interested in you coming to Bachelor in Paradise. What was your initial reaction? Literally, I had, we had had some issues with the Asking group and all of that. Yeah. So you guys were like so close. So for those listening, Askin was April, Susan, Kathy, and Nancy, right?
Starting point is 00:05:34 And we had a very public falling out. And I really felt that that hurt me with Bachelor Nation. And then, you know, I did a lot of introspection and what the first show did for me. And it did a couple things. It let me know I wasn't over grieving. And it let me know that I still had trauma. from early teen with bullying that I had to work through. So I took that experience, you know, and I kind of, I felt like I got ostracized,
Starting point is 00:06:06 kind of like pushed aside. And I don't know if that probably just my heart, my little girl heart, like, oh, my God, they don't like me anymore. And so then I went in and said, what is this about me? Why is, why did I react the way I did, first of all, not me. I'm never mean. And second of all, I am intuitive and I just want to love everybody. And when I don't feel that way, my first response is, you know, it's either fight, flight, play dead, you know, or fawn. I do fawn really well, but you can't fawn girls very well. So anyhow, well, you could bet I don't. So I just backed out, you know, and I did my work. So I came back this time completely. different person. I am a all of myself. All my selves are coming out in this show. I hope you enjoy it. I hope my daughter's not upset. No. So going to the beach, I'm assuming you knew that Kathy would likely be
Starting point is 00:07:09 there. Where was your relationship with Kathy going to Paradise? Well, it was, it was, she was afraid when she saw me. And I just put my arms around her and I said, I love you. I'll take responsibility. you affected areas of my life. And I just had to decide, do I love Bachelor, number one? And do I know, I know Kathy very well. And do I know her issues? And I think some of her issues reflected my issues, the truth. And number two, I had to decide if I loved her just for who she was.
Starting point is 00:07:45 Yeah. So I walked up and just said that. You know, I said, you know, I was, you know, let. Things happen personally. I had healing to do. And I said, I love you no matter what. When I decide, I love you. I love you. So no matter what she says now, I'm just going to go, so we're good. But she was a little bit, in fact, I just talked to her last week. And she goes, I'm so happy. We're good friends. I love you. And I was like, so that's put to sleep forever. Even Susan was on the line. And then Nancy and I never had a problem. Nancy's a sweetheart. And Susan, gone on the line and sent me a beautiful text too. So it's all good. It's all good. And I think we all learned. Also, when you are on a show like that, it, you know, it changes your who you think you are or what you think you are. That's what I got out of it. I got out of a better April. Yeah. Now I'm ready to, you know, rip, roar and kick some butt. And I feel like going on the
Starting point is 00:08:47 Bachelor or The Bachelorette is such a learning experience for everyone. Like you learned so much about yourself and then you have that yeah if you want if you're open to it and then you have that break and then going back on paradise is like this fresh start this new beginning i'm a different person on this show i think people are going to be but actually i'm the real person on this show the other person was guarded worried and you know the commotion and and all of that i really didn't know how to handle it this time i didn't care how to handle it i just like I'm out there. My inner child's running amok, my sexy self's running amok, my religious self is my spiritual
Starting point is 00:09:29 self is running amok. So you're going to see a lot of different facets of April, but it'll be fun. I had a blast. I'm so grateful. Would you say you went in feeling just like your best self, excited? Right. Yeah, I went in and someone from California who knows everybody there, she says, we know who know who you are i want you to flow you just flow above it like you're watching it but you're
Starting point is 00:09:57 you're in it but you're still connected to your true self and that's what i did i stayed connected i i used my mind a little bit more than letting my reactions there were no reactions from me because i was the watcher it's like watching a netflix and and you're just like that's not me that's me that's what i feel so well we see you come in, you look gorgeous, you're with all the other goldens, you're coming on on a boat. Everyone's so excited to see you. And we've heard from some of the contestants, Wells, Jesse, that you guys really brought the energy and you brought the party. What was that first day in Paradise like? Yeah, the show before that, you know, was really traumatic for the young kids. And I call them young
Starting point is 00:10:41 kids. I don't know why, because they're like my babies. I introduced myself as their fairy godmother. And I still feel that way about them. I mean, I absolutely adore them. But they were emotionally high-strung, much more than the goldens. I think, of course, losing a bathing suit top is not the same as burying a husband. You know, so, so, you know, we have, wisdom is important. So, but they were very upset about, you know, the breakup and the rose ceremony that they had witnessed before. and we came in and we were just like calm but funny.
Starting point is 00:11:22 I think we offered all of them. The men and the women offered everybody a safety grounding space. And the facility where we stayed was gorgeous. We were treated well, of course. And it was a safe place for me, at least. And I think the kids really, the kids, I know they're going to kill me. my babies um absolutely sucked it up that first and some of them said and i can't remember which one but some of them said we were a little worried but yeah you guys are like have more energy and
Starting point is 00:11:58 you know you're more pistols than we are of course they were pistols in another way you know they have their little thongs on and i'm like oh god i'm gonna that butt's perfect i am like I think I'll leave this to wrong on. I think I'll just leave it. Well, you guys came in, too. Like, obviously, you're so excited to arrive. And you came in right after a really, really dramatic rose ceremony. Did you know when you got there?
Starting point is 00:12:27 Could you feel maybe, like, the energy was off where the contestants telling you, like, guess what happened last night? Yeah, they started to tell us and their eyes were red. And, like, actually, we were strangers. I don't really know. I hadn't really been in touch with them. So I didn't know the girls like some people did. And they just poured it all out. And I'm like, and I'm a therapist.
Starting point is 00:12:50 So I'm like, whoa, this is going to be a lot here. I got like, now I know why I'm here. Now I'm like, my purpose. Ladies, let me get a drink first. I'll circle back. We can do a therapy session. Yeah. We're going to talk about this and we're going to pull it apart.
Starting point is 00:13:07 And one person that I did know about and I got to room with. was cat. And when I saw cat on other seasons, it was a completely different, and a cat than I know now. And I roomed with her and we spent times talking intimately about our families, our trauma, our heartbreaks, our insecurities. We did angel cards. We did meditation. We did counting. We did breathing. And she's a lovely person. She's, I, I, I, I, I, I, hope everyone hears that and gives her kudos. And I think when you're young, you react a lot. I sometimes react. I reset a lot. I reset every day. I am not perfect. But they're young. They're experiencing things. But she's just a lovely human being. And I just even two nights ago,
Starting point is 00:14:08 I talked to her mom. And so I said, well, I'm the other mom. Thank you for sharing this lovely woman with me, this young woman. And then my daughter sent Kat a text and said, I'm going to share my mom with you. So I hope the relationship continues that we, I'm there for her. I know I'm going to, I don't know when I, since I've been on The Bachelor, I cry a lot. Me too. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:14:35 I'm way more emotional since being, or I'm way more maybe just in tune with my emotions and comfortable expressing that. I just love Kat and I just think that you guys definitely have a special bond and it shows even in this first episode upon your first meeting. I think we look different than we are. I think Kat and I work really hard to be okay. Yeah. But what we really need to know is we're okay anyhow. You know, this is just the icing. This isn't the cake. And her cake is beautifully baked. Yeah. Well, it sounds like you two both had similar experiences. after, you know, being on the show, having your difficulties, you know, doing a lot of work and coming back on for this second chance at love. So I would imagine you could relate to each
Starting point is 00:15:21 other a lot. Yeah. And then, then I was in the whole area, the whole hallway with all the young girls. I thought I had a lot of bathing suits. And they have the best makeup. I'm like, and I'm like, they taught me things. And then when I put clothes on, they would tell me what to wear. No, not that dress. No, that dress. And then they go, I want that dress. I want to wear that dress. And I said, okay, you know, whatever.
Starting point is 00:15:48 And then one put oils all over me. And it was so funny. But they were all darling. They were all, I mean, I was a guidance counselor, a dean of schools. I was a high school teacher. And I can honestly say these are good, good young people. And the guys were adorable. No, it's really.
Starting point is 00:16:09 a great cast you love Sean yeah well we're not there quite yet April I know but I love Sean I do love Sean and Jonathan I love a lot of them I mean the guys were all respectful up to they there was a line of difference between how they talked to each other and how they talked when we were around and that meant a lot to me to see those manners very nice that's important My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Well, wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot.
Starting point is 00:16:55 He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him
Starting point is 00:17:16 because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. All right, West West, West, Prop here from Hood Politics with Prop Podcasts. You already know our get-down. If you grew up in our urban areas, a comfort of struggle, you understand politics much more than you giving credit for.
Starting point is 00:17:40 Feds taking over American cities, government hop-out boys, hopping out the van, snatching up your theo in them, two wars that was supposed to be solved in 24 hours. Jerry just out here, mandering all over the place, the turfs, and of course, the Epstein of it all.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Well, this week we decided to shoot our shot, and boy, did we pull up from the logo, to see if we could get somebody to come tap in with us, and the one and only Jamil Hill pulled up from the Spolitics podcast to keep it a whole century. Because in America, what sells in politics are narratives and storylines. It's like we treat politics like we treat sports, which is part of the reason why we're in the situation we're in right now.
Starting point is 00:18:18 Listen to the hood politics with prop podcasts on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hi, my name is Enya Yumanzoor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh my God, perfect. And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble.
Starting point is 00:18:47 Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Open your free iHeartRadio app. Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs that mimic military basic training. These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life, emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs. Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him. the next six months. The first night was so overwhelming and you don't know who's next to you. And we didn't know what to expect in the morning. Nobody tells you anything.
Starting point is 00:19:47 Listen to shock incarceration on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Jemail Hill, host of the Sports and Politics and on the latest episode of Politics, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries joins me for a candid conversation about the state of the Democratic Party. What do Republicans say to you?
Starting point is 00:20:08 privately that they won't say publicly. Many of them are in fear of their political lives, and that's been part of the challenge, but we continue to say to them, you were elected to defend your constituents, to stand up for your constituents, and there's life after Congress, and you should
Starting point is 00:20:24 be willing to actually want to be able to look back on your time in the House of Representatives, knowing that you can keep your head held high because you did the right thing. Donald Trump is gone in three and a half years, but their legacy or their failure to stand up to the extremism and the unprecedented assault on
Starting point is 00:20:44 America as we know it will be with them forever. Make sure to listen to Spolitics on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Let's get into a little bit of the drama before we tackle your connections on the beach. The biggest drama in this episode is definitely Bailey and Jeremy's relationship. We see Andrew Spencer comes down and he takes Bailey on a date and there's a lot of drama and controversy around that Jeremy is not happy. What was your take on the situation?
Starting point is 00:21:26 I actually was just hoping that everybody would give everyone a fair chance. but there were people in the show that I could see were mating up immediately. Like, they really liked each other. And I think, I don't know, but I think it sounds like it's the real deal. So we'll have to just wait and see how long that goes. But I didn't know really what to do. And I just thought, I was just a watcher, honestly, of that. I didn't get involved.
Starting point is 00:22:00 I never give advice unless people ask me, because really people don't want advice. They just want to be listened to. That saves a lot of problems, too, let me tell you, and personality and relationships. They don't want it, don't give it, just listen. So it'll be interesting for the world to see how this plays out. And I'm not going to say anymore because it's crazy.
Starting point is 00:22:33 All right. Well, we will leave it there because it is pretty crazy. And I feel like there's more to come with the Bailey and the Jeremy of it all. Let's dive into your connection. You are the first golden kiss that we see. You have a little smooch in the pool with sweet Jack. And you said, you're like, I want to kiss someone. I'm here to kiss someone. And you got it, girl. I don't kiss anybody. I don't go out. I don't meet anybody. I don't really date. I mean, people go, how could that be? I go, because they just don't. I don't know where it's, it's different today, you know, I don't know. I don't know. So, yeah, I kissed him. He was really sweet guy. In fact, he really needs a wife because every time I saw him, I had to tell him to go change his
Starting point is 00:23:20 shirt. He had food on one of his sleeves. I don't know you'll ever catch it, but this guy is like a little wandering teddy bear, just like, I don't know if it's, a couple drinks. He's lost. I don't think so. I think that's his real personality. He's just, he reminds me of someone who's just kind of lost. Like, you know, you tell your husband, pick out that shirt, make sure you remember this.
Starting point is 00:23:44 Did you get gas? Oh, okay. So I kind of nurtured him. And he is a sweetheart. A lot to be said for Jack. I think he's much deeper than he will be projected on the show. Okay. Well, I mean, if he needs a wife, he's on the right show to find one. Yes, he is. And I think he's a sweetheart. And then he's very sensitive too. Like if you do say something derogatory or even
Starting point is 00:24:16 in a joking matter, he takes it. So he's like, oh, my God. He's like, you know, out and about, he's now, you know, we're all out and doing our thing. And he's just a little marshmallow. That's all. How was the kiss? Was it giving more friendship vibes? Was there chemistry? Actually, I really like him a lot. And like I said, I think he's like his bark is much bigger than he is. And I think he's a sweetheart.
Starting point is 00:24:47 And so was it, I think every woman and man, I don't know about men. Sometimes I think men just want to get laid. I don't know. But most women have a type. So I do have a particular type. And that's all. What's your type? What's your type?
Starting point is 00:25:06 My type is I really like European men. I'm Italian. I like short Italian with a little bit of chutzpah that can keep me in my place. But let me roam a little knowing I'm never going to cheat. I'm never going to lie. And they get a kick out of me. I mean, you know, if I walk in with bunny ears on Easter morning, they don't think I'm stupid. they think it's charmingly ridiculous it is ridiculous but i do it everywhere but it's also charming
Starting point is 00:25:33 right and i if you like that yes some people don't like that uh and i am um a strong personality so i need someone when they walk in the room the waters kind of part like i love that so that i because i need to know who's behind me i can never know who's in front of me but if i know i got someone behind me that has my back but still going to let me he knows i'm coming home with him he knows i don't cheat he knows it's all good but i just flit and flight i'm a fairy yeah well we'll have to keep watching the season to see if jack's your guy i'm not going to say any can't say anything yet i'm not saying anything because i kissed a few others so oh well we do see later that night um you have the Secrets Challenge.
Starting point is 00:26:28 What did you think of that game? I loved it. I thought it was hilarious to watch. And can you tell us what your secret was? Okay, first of all, the funny thing about it is the younger people's secrets were small and insignificant. It was prom night and we broke into, you know, you know, old house and, you know, drank Boone's wine, you know?
Starting point is 00:26:52 And we're just like, oh, shit. Our secrets are a lot bigger. And then when Dale, I like the one with Dale when he said he had a private social media account for his feet. That was funny. That was really charming and cute. But that's harmless. Totally. Ours were a little more a lot.
Starting point is 00:27:13 Yeah. They were real secrets. Yeah. I don't think I'm going to tell them mine. But, yeah, they really could be legal. issue you know i mean you don't know you don't know um is there a seven year law is there this is there that you know and kathy and i were sitting next to each other and we made a vow we will never ever tell our secret and then kathy let her arm up i go kathy oh my god what did you do
Starting point is 00:27:42 so we'll see with i was shocked when she announced her secret words. I still talk to her all the time and go, what were you thinking? I think Kathy is very instantaneous. That's what makes her funny. It's what makes her charming. She's very funny. And I loved that she shared that it was her secret. April disagrees. She's shaking her head. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly and now I'm seriously suspicious. Well, wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's It's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot.

What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number,
Starting point is 00:30:47 own you. Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs that mimic military basic training. These programs aimed to provide a shock of prison life, emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs. Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months. The first night was so overwhelming. And, And you don't know who's next to you. And we didn't know what to expect in the morning. Nobody tells you anything.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Jamil Hill, host of the Sports and Politics Podcasts Politics. And on the latest episode of Politics, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries joins me for a candid conversation about the state of the Democratic Party. What do Republicans say to you privately that they won't say publicly? many of them are in fear of their political lives and that's been part of the challenge but we continue to say to them you were elected to defend your constituents to stand up for your constituents and there's life after congress and you should be willing to actually want to be able to look back on your time in the house of representatives knowing that you can keep your head held high because
Starting point is 00:32:08 you did the right thing Donald Trump is gone in three and a half years but their legacy or their failure to stand up to the extremism and the unprecedented assault on America as we know it will be with them forever. Make sure to listen to Spolitics on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. We see at the end of the challenge, though, that Kim, Captain Kim, gets a little flirty with you. He's giving you a shoulder massage. She's whispering in your ear.
Starting point is 00:32:44 Was that unexpected or did you get a feeling? Yeah, and I really do want to know him. I was attracted to his look. I didn't really know anything about his personality at that point, obviously. And he was very, very, very doting over me at that time, at that time, which kind of led me to believe that he was really interested and that kind of, for me, it was a door opening when someone comes up and rubbed your shoulders. I think at one point I had like a something was bothered on my leg.
Starting point is 00:33:22 He rubbed my leg and for me. And, um, but he's an interesting character. He's an interesting character. So, um, and then, you know, it's a little different when you're on camera. You know that trying to find somebody than when you're just out doing yourself. So, um, it was there. any guys going into Paradise that you were saying, oh, I really hope this guy's here. I really want to meet this person.
Starting point is 00:33:51 Any of the producers. You want the crew. I love the crew. There's one man, and I want to do make it pop up. I came in and he said, and I don't know who he is. He's tall and he's older. And he said to me, do us good, April, we love you. And that was so comforting to me.
Starting point is 00:34:15 I don't know his name, but I would love to thank him for his support. But everybody was great. But, I mean, for him, he comes out from the camera. I just want to let you know, do us well, April. We love you. And I was like, and still at home. We see Kathy gets an advantage after the challenge, after spilling her secret, and she gets to go to the VIP suite with Keith.
Starting point is 00:34:39 Were they kind of hitting it off day one? Yeah, they really were. They had it all sewn up, which that's the way life is. That's the way love works. I mean, that's what this game's about. People pair off and you're looking like, how did that even happen? I didn't even get, you know, my foot in the door there. So he is a wonderful guy. I can't speak highly of, I mean, I really, he's raised daughters on his own. He knows about women. He knows how crazy we can be in our emotions. He can handle us with poor. boys, and he gives very good insight, very, very down to earth, probably one of the most intuitive men there that really knew and was watching the room. And I admire that. I love that. That's a great quality. Right. He's seeing what's happening, and he's going like this and this. So, yeah, Kathy, you know, Kathy's everywhere. She snatched him up. Yeah, she's like, she went right in there. And I, and then she was like, you know, you're not mad at us with me. I'm like, no, no, no, no, no. And to Leslie, you're not mad. I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, no. But yeah, she did. Well, so they go off to their private VIP suite for a date. You guys are all just hanging out by the pool. Then there seemed to be some drama with Jonathan and Jill. Did you see that? Yeah, I did. And I got so upset.
Starting point is 00:36:11 Because by this time, I'm favoring Jonathan. Right. Unfortunately. He's your man. Yeah, he's my man. He's my son. I mean, I love him. I'm like, go to go to the death for him.
Starting point is 00:36:22 And they just didn't, I don't, a lot of people don't understand Jonathan. A lot of the girls, because after all of these things happened, they were like, yeah, that's just the way he is. or yeah, he doesn't, I don't even know why he's here or this, and he says he's, I don't know, like I was hearing all this chatter since I'm in the girls hall, you know, and I'm new. I don't know him very much, but yeah, I don't know what, how he approaches women, you know, I don't, I don't know I'm not in that part of his life. And he, um, he can piss people, women off. yes I always can see I get the cats and the Jonathan do you see this I'm a therapist
Starting point is 00:37:15 yeah he's he's had a few like misses yeah and he's putting himself out there and I see that he seems to be trying right but I mean I see if I could talk to him privately are you really putting yourself in there there's times I look like I'm putting myself out there and I'm not right my soul is not my heart's not I'm not in it for whatever billion one reasons and um I think he's adorable he dresses well he looks cute he's polite he's and these girls were like yeah interesting April's going to fight him she's like don't say I know I really want to help you know and you know one thing about and I've heard this about myself too when you hear the same story about yourself or the same comment from different people who don't know you that they're not
Starting point is 00:38:13 together it's usually correct okay so there's some weight to the comments i think so i would like to investigate that further well he is still on the beach so far he seems like he might be at a little bit of risk but we'll have to see what happens in episode four um did you go to the premier party in LA? Oh my God. Okay. That was completely more relaxed for me. We went out afterwards. We went to this sleazy little bar, which I love sleazy bars. That's my favorite place. Like a dirty little you know, hangout. And we danced all night. We had fun. I stayed with Leslie. Leslie and I are close. and they were wonderful. I'm a music person.
Starting point is 00:39:01 So if you, if Barry White comes on or Stevie Wonder or Earth, Wind and Fire, anybody, I like them all. I mean, I like them all. But, I mean, especially something from our generation, I'll grab your hand and I'm good dancing. That's it. And then we become more intimate because we're touching, we're looking at each other, we're laughing, we're trying to get in step with each other. and I love them. I mean, I had a blast.
Starting point is 00:39:31 I had so much fun. That was the best thing I've done in a year. I just... Oh, that's amazing. It's such a great way to celebrate the show starting. And the girls were all wonderful. Everybody was there. In fact, I got to talk to Kat's mom.
Starting point is 00:39:46 Kat took me aside and she goes, I want to do FaceTime with my mom. I want you to meet my mom. So we had a lovely conversation. And so I just, I had a blast because the pressure was off. Right. It was just like, let's just have fun. And the girls were relaxed. And my hair didn't come out that great.
Starting point is 00:40:08 But that's all right. It was all right. It was okay. I'm sure you looked beautiful. Were you so happy that you didn't have to sleep in bunk beds this season? Yeah. I mean, I would have, though. I'm not from money at all.
Starting point is 00:40:21 So I grew up without air conditioning. on a chicken farm. And, you know, my feet probably had chicken poop and duck poop on them at the bottom of them all the time. And a gravel, you know, you had to like toughen up your feet to walk on the gravel in the driveway. It was really old school. So I, I would have made it. I'm fine. I can dig in. You know, I can dig it. I was like there. Whatever you wanted to bring to me, Bachelor, bring it on. Bring it on. Make my day. Okay. I'm in to win the game. of life that's what i'm that's my that's my anytime something goes wrong i go this is a test and i'm going to win the game of life so that's what i do so yes i could have made it but yes i'm glad it it was air conditioning but then cat likes to keep the air conditioning real low oh she likes to be a little warm in the room yeah and so i no i like it warm she like to keep it well then high is that what i'm saying she likes it cold right she likes it cold right she likes it I like it warm because I'm from Florida, you know, I spent 20 some years there.
Starting point is 00:41:28 So I'm like, shivering all night. And she goes, I know, it's no, no, no. And I would sneak in and I think she knew I would like hit it a little bit. I was very polite. I didn't know on it. And oh, those girls, they're clothes and they're so glamorous. Everyone's so beautiful this season. God.
Starting point is 00:41:48 I wanted to like just take makeup lessons from them. I know. It looks so fun. Everyone looks beautiful. The AC definitely helps that. April, we are only three episodes into the season. We have lots to go. We hope to see a lot more of you. Can you finish us off by teasing what viewers can expect for the rest of the season? Okay. Well, you might see a unicorn. You may see me jump into the wild and just do a little bit of animalistic things. you may see me I was raised in a very strict religious thank God my mother is dead
Starting point is 00:42:29 and my grandma my aunt Jenny's going to kill me I did something that you guys know what it's called with a lemon or something did you do like a body shot oh that's what it's called oh god
Starting point is 00:42:47 yeah okay they pray for somebody and then what else I mean, then I get frisky. So, and I do, I do express my feelings. And that is interesting to see how that turns out. It's a cliffhanger.
Starting point is 00:43:07 Even in my mind. It's a cliffhanger. Amazing. What happened? What happened? What happened? There's so much going on. I mean, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:43:19 Well, I'm on the edge of my seat to watch. you be vulnerable. I'm on the edge of my seat to see you take a body shot. And thank you so much for coming on today for taking the time to chat with us. Oh, yes. Oh, and I had a little baby bird while I was there too. Oh, a pet. I'll tell you that. Yeah, so I have a little baby bird. Whole other story. Okay. We'll have to have you back on to share that way. Thank you so much. I love you guys. I love Bachelor Nation. I'm grateful to be back. And I can't say enough the entire group, everybody in that show was wonderful. And I'll hold it as one of my dearest memories forever and ever, which I hope it's a long time.
