Please welcome from Jen's season of the Bachelorette.
Brad.
Hey, Brad.
Hey, guys.
How are you?
Welcome.
Welcome.
You're looking at a lot of meet you guys.
We're so happy to meet you.
I just saw all those record albums.
Yep.
I know.
If people could see it, they're actually stored on the wall.
Oh, yeah.
It's amazing.
I got a nice case there.
I'm missing a couple back here.
I got to fill those in.
I see that.
I've got a couple records.
I'm just too lazy to put more of those plastic ones.
like work you know really it's like when i come home i don't want to do more work you know i love that i love
that you don't that you have albums that you have an actual turntable that you play them on yeah i you know
they're coming back my friend calls me a hipster for doing that and i did not but at some point i just
got a i just got to i just got to lean into i just say it sounds crisper you know on the turn
so did you just start this or has this been an ongoing probably two years ago okay yeah just
you know i like really like music and then it's nice to kind of
I'm not a collector of anything, so now I can collect these.
Now you can talk about something, too.
My son is a collector of music.
He's got like, I don't know, 2,000 CDs, some ungodly.
Yeah, he's crazy.
He loves music.
When you realize how much money you're actually putting into it?
No, I don't put a dime into it.
He buys his own.
I slowed down big time.
Yeah, or you pay $10 a month and store your music on your phone now.
There you go.
And I do that too.
All right.
So now, before we get into anything else, I have one of the question for you.
I don't know where it is, but Susan's from Philly and you're from, is it manmime?
Pennsylvania? Yep, yep. So I grew up in near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. So a really small town, a lot of mountains, a lot of farms, a lot of cows and animals. So I live in Mannheim, which is in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Yeah, probably about 45, 50 minutes from me. Yeah, so it's like 20 minutes from Lancaster City. So I lived in Lancaster for a little bit, but yeah, definitely. And then just one more question. Yeah, you people can't see, but you have on an Orioles.
Who is that the Baltimore Orioles?
Yes, it is.
Well, you're from Philadelphia, so how do you explain that?
He's not from Philadelphia.
I mean, you're from Pennsylvania.
Yeah.
So where I grew up is like five minutes from the Maryland border.
My parents were from Baltimore.
My dad's like, I failed geography.
Kathy, Pittsburgh is also Pennsylvania.
Yeah, Pittsburgh, but the Steelers, not a big Steelers fan.
Are you an Eagles fan?
Ravens.
I was happy, though, for the Eagles, though.
Yes, we deserve it.
I have a lot of friends who are Eagles fans.
and, you know, the stigma around the Eagles fans.
I put that aside this, this playoffs.
Yeah, that's scary.
It's good and bad, though.
You know.
I like when they grease the polls, to tell you the truth.
Yeah.
Like what fool is going to fall this time?
They try.
Okay.
Other than following your favorite sports teams and collecting albums that you go on your wall,
what else is going on your life?
Tell us, what are you doing, dating, living, working, you know, give us the rundown.
It's hanging out, you know.
Hanging out.
So I work as a.
I'm working a little bit of HR and safety for a mechanical solutions company, industrial solutions.
So we do like anything metal, a lot of welders, a lot of machine shops.
Are you like the OSHA person that makes sure they're, my son does that.
Oh, really?
Yes, exactly.
Yes, that's what I'm to school for.
He does it for a company here in Austin.
Oh, you sound like a good guy.
My son's a great guy.
Because you have the same job, right?
Well, you have to adore being the safety guy.
It's tough out there.
You don't get a lot of friends easily that way.
I know.
You know what?
So tell me what's different since coming off the show?
A little more attention.
You know, I like to consider myself a pretty private guy.
And now when I go out and it's just, it's cool, though.
I can't, like, it's fun, especially if I got my friends with me.
Yeah.
Go out or something and seeing people who watch the show.
It's like very much fan bases.
I'm sure you got it.
How long did you stay on the show?
A day.
What?
You went home the first day?
Uh-huh.
How did you feel when, can I even ask that?
How did you feel?
When I got sent home?
Yeah.
It was like ripping a band-aid off.
So it wasn't too bad.
I think it happened so quick that it was, yeah, I mean, you guys know the experience.
It's a little out of the norm.
So, and definitely like a, again, I've never, I've flown like twice before going out there.
So going across the country and just.
Was that big?
Yeah.
Really?
You don't like the fly?
L.A. and I don't like to fly now.
I've gotten over it, though.
Going across the country definitely help.
And then as soon as gets sent home right away and I come back and just like,
all right, let's calm down.
Then I pick up my phone and it's blowing up.
Oh, yeah.
I'm like, oh, my God, I thought it would be quiet.
I could just kind of continue going on with life.
And then I actually, the first thing I did, I flew into Baltimore.
My parents picked me up in the morning.
And we were like, well, let's go.
get some lunch and get a beer. It was a Saturday.
And I had a fishing rod in my back seat.
And it was stuck to like a weighted vest, if you know what I mean?
Like a running vest? Yes, yes.
And it was an 80 pound vest. And I was like, whatever. I'm just going to move both of these.
And when I moved the vest, the fishing hook, it was like a three pump stuck into my leg.
And sitting there for 20 minutes, like deep in my leg.
And me and my parents, I'm yelling at my parents back and forth because there's a hook in my
leg. And eventually we got it clicked out. And I went to the emergency room.
Oh my God. Because it's stuck inside of my leg. I couldn't pull it out. And then it was just when they announced the potential cast. So, and especially being from a small town, I'm sitting in an emergency room a couple days after they announced the cast. And this girl's just kind of looking at me, the nurse. And I'm like, and my mom said she looked across and there were people looking at their phones and looking at me.
Right. And I get back there and she's like, you the guy? I could be any. I don't know what you're talking about. She's like. I could be.
you're definitely the guy and I'm like yeah who's asking right and uh thankfully I had a friend
who works there she was a nurse and she came back she's like I told them all to leave you alone they
were talking oh so where do you live now a manhine pennsylvania oh you are in you're back
in yeah but I grew up in near Gettysburg yeah oh okay okay and your family where do your
parents live still in near Gettysburg this one again she's like the biggest bachelor nation
fan now so oh yeah she's she's she was in at first
she wasn't when i told her potentially i'd be going on she was like and then eventually she like
really got deep into it and she's like she watched golden she could be cool i she might have i
think she did she's she's she's a reality tv fan at heart anyway so yeah yeah i think she's
of course she watches all right well we're gonna we're gonna be asking you some questions we're
gonna dig a little deeper we're gonna yeah so bachelor nation can get to know you better and they can
get some of your fabulous advice but first the first thing we do is
start with a question of the day. Susan, go for it. And that is, what do you think is the most
important thing about yourself to showcase on a first date? For me, it's definitely a sense of
humor. And that's always, I feel like a cop out when I say that. But it's a big important thing for me,
because I'm always firing off jokes. And I think I need someone to laugh at it, you know, to give me some
validation there. But I'd say it's a sense of humor just because it can show how
unserious somebody can be, especially in a first date, that's nerves are high on those.
Like, I try to go in pretty calm, but if you care about it, you're going to be nervous anyway.
Like, anything you care about, you're going to be nervous for.
The gift of laughter is the best. It makes it more comfortable once you get it out, you know,
and you laugh together, then it's easy.
You get the nerves down, and especially showing that you can be unserious in a pretty
serious situations too because life's always going to be super serious no matter what you do
things are going to go wrong and having the ability to like why do you have to be angry about
stuff all the time yeah wow my boyfriend's professor is way too friendly and now i'm seriously
suspicious oh wait a minute sam maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit well dakota
it's back to school week on the okay story time podcast so we'll find out soon this person writes
My boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot.
He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Now, hold up.
Isn't that against school policy?
That sounds totally inappropriate.
Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age.
And it's even more likely that they're cheating.
He insists there's nothing between them.
I mean, do you believe him?
Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet.
So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his person?
professor or not. To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart

I was like, I need to find my prince charming.
Like, it was never a princess.
Like, that never entered into my mind.
But, you know, as I learned, sometimes life gives you things wrapped in a package that you didn't expect it.
And that was just, you know, and honestly, it took me a long time to be okay with myself.
Make sure to listen to this week's episode of Spolitics on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this.
Attention passengers.
The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane.
Think you could do it?
It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this, do this, pull that, turn this.
It's just, I can do it my eyes close.
I'm Mani.
I'm Noah.
This is Devin.
And on our new show, No Such Thing, we get to the bottom of questions like these.
Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence.
Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize that they lack expertise.
And then, as we try the whole thing out for real.
Wait, what?
Oh, that's the run right.
I'm looking at this thing.
Listen to No Such Thing on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.

Hola, it's HoneyGerman.
And my podcast,
Grasas Come Again, is back.
This season, we're going even deeper
into the world of music and entertainment
with raw and honest conversations
with some of your favorite Latin artists and celebrities.
You didn't have to audition?
No, I didn't audition.
I haven't audition in, like, over 25 years.
Oh, wow.
That's a real G-talk right there.
Oh, yeah.
We've got some of the biggest actors,
musicians, content creators,
and culture shifters sharing their real stories
of failure and success.
You were destined to be a start.
We talk all about what's viral and trending
with a little bit of chisement, a lot of laughs,
and those amazing vibras you've come to expect.
And, of course, we'll explore deeper topics
dealing with identity, struggles,
and all the issues affecting our Latin community.
You feel like you get a little whitewash
because you have to do the code switching?
I won't say whitewash because at the end of the day, you know, I'm me.
Yeah?
But the whole pretending and code, you know, it takes a toll on you.
Listen to the new season of God,
that says come again as part of my culture podcast network on the iHeart radio app apple podcast
or wherever you get your podcast what impresses you on a first date i'm sorry kathia
oh that's a good question uh probably the same thing but i mean just someone i like to see someone
who's caring at first you know that's a big thing for me is just someone how can you tell if they're
caring though um first date that's that's a good question
question. That's tough. I can answer that if they ask questions about you. Yeah, that's true.
They seem interested. Yes. I think us men have to work on that a little bit at answering asking
questions back. I've been getting good at like putting that in my head. Let me tell you. Yeah, you should.
You should because that's one of our pet peeves. That's one of them. Yeah. I think the main thing is like I'm
just trying to advertise myself to impress the girl. Right. That doesn't work that way. You got to let them do the same thing back.
a little bit, you know.
Kathy and I are thinking about doing a business.
I'm serious.
I wonder how many men would sign up that we could school them on how to take a
selfie and what not to do.
And what to do on a first day.
On a first day,
the conversation,
you always ask something about them.
If you asked me out on a date,
which,
you know,
would be insane.
But let's just play this game for a minute.
If you and I went out on a date and all you did was quote unquote
market yourself to me,
so I'd be thinking all this guy does.
just talk about himself. I'm out. Right. Yeah, because it seems just self-centered.
And then you school somebody and they ask too many questions and it's like, whoa, back off.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You just tell you. And whatever you do, Brett, if you're, if you're on social media,
if you're on dating apps, please, please, Brett, do not. And we're going to give you the free advice
here. We're not going to charge you up from our first book. No dead fish. No dead fish. No
I've heard that. Keep your shirt on. No bathroom pictures. Do not, do not hold a dead fish in one hand.
and you know your naked body and even if it was the trophy fish just don't know and it's like
because you know like only the guys will see that and be like hell yeah and the guys are looking
unless you want to date a guy and then we're going to have a whole other conversation here
yeah that is what it is but all right so you you I read up a little bit on you and you are a funny
guy the fact that you shaved your eyebrows off when you were a kid let me just let me assure you
they've completely grown back
you have got no problem there but the other thing that i um somebody asked you about paradise so the first
question i have to ask you is would you go to paradise um yeah i mean at this point yeah i mean i'm
pretty free so and and they said uh i finally caught up and watched a couple episodes yeah beer and
swim trunks in the beach that's what you said beer and swim trunk i literally wrote that down you said
Bairn's Swim Swim Trunks all you need for Batswam Paras.
So that's all you need is beer and swim trunks.
Who do you want to see there?
Oh, there's so many.
Like, I, oh, don't start with that.
If you guys have talked to Hakeem.
Yeah, I love Huckie.
He asked this question all the time.
Sometimes he'll call me and just, you know, we'll talk about this.
And he's big on like putting it out there.
I love that.
That's good for him.
And I kind of answered him the one time.
It's like, whoever's,
there like i don't want to single anybody out for the reason of like you know i was
wanted to let things naturally happen but there's also from the point of
you can't do any wrong if with anybody that goes there right it's about a chemistry though
yeah and you don't know well enough yet and and and but they're like i was like if i'm lucky to
come off that beach with anybody i'm thinking i'm doing pretty dang well so so tell me have your
uh dms blown up like women are more forward i feel they are yeah
They did. They did. They definitely blew up, like, especially after it aired.
Like, it was an influx.
Did you go out with any of them?
No.
Why?
It was weird. It was a weird time for me because it's like there was from just calm and normal to having all this attention at one time.
And I really didn't know how to handle that.
So I'm like, I'm just going to sit back and let things kind of, the bullets fly by and figure it out later.
Are you dating anyone now?
We're checking our DMs every day.
We got enough.
Oh, no, come on, Susan, we got 30-year-olds who wanted a date.
Just come on.
I'm sure.
Yeah, not happening.
I'm not meeting anybody now, currently.
No, not at all.
Well, so it sounds like Paradise would be perfect.
Are you picky?
Is that why?
No, I would say I'm picky, but I think everybody is.
But I'm picky in the sense where, like, if I try to dial my type down, it's kind of difficult.
Like, I do have a weakness for a tall brunette woman.
I just do.
Well, Susan, you and I
Hurry up, shrinking.
Barking up the right tree, but I also am like, well, I do
How tall are you, Brad?
6-3.
Oh, you see, you're tall.
Yeah, but all the other guys this season were way taller.
There's so many tall guys this season.
On Jen season?
Yeah, yeah.
It was awful.
I thought I'd be the tall guy.
I walk in there and there's like 6-5, 6.
Same with, I can tell you, Joan season on the Golden Bachelorette.
Same thing with her.
The guys are giants.
It's crazy.
They're picking some prospects out here.
It's nice.
Yeah.
As someone who's 5-8, I appreciate the hype.
That's a good height, too.
Yeah.
Great height.
Yeah.
Yeah, because we shrink.
Right.
It's awful.
It's awful.
It's awful.
So, you used to play football and college.
Tell us about that.
Where'd you go to college?
I went to Millersville University.
Oh, I know, Wintersville.
Mm-hmm.
In the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
Yep.
Yep.
Did you like being in playing football?
Did you like that?
Yeah, loved it.
So I did, athletics was always a big part of me growing up.
So I started baseball when I was five and wrestling and football when I was seven.
And just that was always the thing.
So my dad was a big football fan and just.
Do you feel like people are intimidated by your size?
Like you're an athlete.
You're a big strong guy.
Sometimes I think so.
Like I'll notice if I'm out at a bar or something with my friends and someone
accidentally pours a drink on me or not.
knocks my drink out of my hand.
And they're like, oh, my God, I'm so sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm just kidding.
Hey, let me get you another beer.
I'm really sorry.
I'm going to drink a beer.
I'm going to get anything.
And they're just like, I'm fine.
I'm not going to feel anything.
It's good if I did.
Yeah, there's some time.
There's some intimidation.
So beer is your drink a choice I'm hearing.
I do enjoy a good beer.
What's your favorite beer?
Yeah.
A cold one, I think.
It has to be cold cold.
A Miller light.
I've been drinking quite a bit.
bit of a million like. Oh, you're not into the bushy beer
sound. I don't like the bougie beers
either. I don't. I like
my boozy coffees. I'll get
a bougie coffee every once in a while, but boozy
beer. I mean, uh, crap beer's okay.
You just can't drink a lot.
It hurts. It does.
A corona with some lime, but
I like the little seven ounces.
Oh, yeah. Stay cold all the way down.
And that good lime. I like a good lime.
I like a good vodka soda too, though.
Oh, now we're talking.
Kathy's a little lime beer on the vodka
soda or tequila and soda and lime
I'm a wine girl, I'll tell you the truth
you know what I'm I've been on tequila for like the last year
but I'm just now going back to vodka again
who knows all right
I like an in a soda I don't like vodka straight I don't like
tequila straight that much I like whiskey
what is your background
like your family heritage
heritage uh German Irish and
Scottish oh and they were just in Scotland
how was it oh they were yes I was it
I lived in Scotland.
It was beautiful.
I really want to go.
I have to make the news to you, Brett.
You want to go to Scotland?
Yeah.
You're going to have to get on an airplane.
Oh, it's a long place.
My brother lives in Germany.
He lives in Hamburg.
And you haven't been?
No, I actually just talked to him on the weekend.
And I asked him because he's been there for three years now because his girlfriend is German and she lives over there.
So he moved over for her.
And I was like, hey, how's the German learning going?
And he's like, I'm just kind of stopped.
You know, he's like, he's trying to pick up some.
But he said they speak so much English over there that he just, he's not a talker anyway.
So he's just like, I don't speak German.
And does he understand it yet?
I mean, I think that's what he said.
The hardest part is to understand it instead of speaking it.
He can get delayed what he wants.
But when he hears it back, he's just the slagging.
No clue. No clue what they're saying.
Yeah.
Okay.
So I have to ask you a question, Brett.
You wouldn't know this, but back in the day, I was a much bigger person than I am now.
I pushed the scales like 200 pounds.
I was a big girl.
And you are a football player and you're a guy.
But I think Bachelor Nation people were really happy to see the diversity.
What is that, what was the experience like and what's the response been like?
Yeah, that was interesting, you know, but I don't fit the normal mode.
I knew that going into it.
I even kind of said to everybody, like, hey, I'm an offense alignment,
and we got a lot of receivers and running back and quarterbacks on the show, you know.
And point guards.
Yeah.
For basketball, yeah.
Don't mess with me, bitches.
Right.
There's a lot of attention from that.
It doesn't really bother me, though.
I mean, I've always been a large guy.
So, you know, I'm like going to the gym and lifting heavy things that a lot of people can't do.
So, but yeah, yeah, a lot of attention.
for that um positive retention i'm hoping though yeah for the most part yeah yeah i mean there's
there's people are arguing over whether i'm like a bodybuilder or not a bodybuilder a power lifter or something
like taking steroids and yeah yeah well and uh yeah some people were arguing over my body type
and i was like whatever i'll let them argue like everyone talking about me you know what breck said
you guys listen i don't care just pour me a beer i really can't that's what i'm like just
give me another beer and i'll be good he's got such a kind face he's
So sweet. I know. You're like a teddy bear. Okay. I get that a lot. Yeah. I try to keep, I don't
because you have a great smile, but you have a great smile in an easy demeanor. That's why.
Thank you. You never know what somebody else's day. Do one nice thing for somebody. Say one
nice thing a day. You don't know what kind of day that person's happening. Yeah. My dad kind of
pushed that into me as a kid, just helping like make friends with someone you wouldn't normally
go out of your way to be friends with. Just never know how it's, unless you learn a lot from that.
My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Well, wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon.
This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot.
It's even more likely that they're cheating.
He insists there's nothing between them.
I mean, do you believe him?
Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet.
So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not?

What do Republicans say to you privately that they won't say publicly?
Many of them are in fear of their political lives, and that's been part of the challenge.
But we continue to say to them, you were elected to defend your constituents, to stand up
for your constituents.
And there's life after Congress.
And you should be willing to actually want to be able to look back on your.
your time in the House of Representatives knowing that you can keep your head held high because
you did the right thing. Donald Trump is gone in three and a half years. But their legacy or their
failure to stand up to the extremism and the unprecedented assault on America as we know it will be
with them forever. Make sure to listen to Spolitics on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or

Attention passengers.
The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane.
Think you could do it?
It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help
of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this.
Do this.
Pull that.
Turn this.

All right. Let's get into our fan questions for today.
Brett, we answer fan questions and we want you to join in and give some sage advice.
I'm going to read this question and you're going to help us dish out the advice, okay?
Okay.
All right, here we go.
Anonymous asks, OMG, I need your help.
A year ago, my best friend finally broke up with her shitty boyfriend that she was with for three years.
context, we're both 26 now. She still is yet to even remotely move on and it's finally gotten
to a point where I need to seriously step in. I let her grieve the relationship. They broke up
because he cheated and healed for the first six months. It's one thing to not really want a serious
relationship, but she won't even explore the idea of someone else. I'm honestly worried because I don't
want her to think about going back to him as even an option. How do I help her get back out there
and at least get comfortable with dating and keeping her eyes open.
I don't want to rush her, but I feel like if I let her, she'll never get back out there.
Wow.
And it's way past six months.
Do you want us to give her your phone number?
I guess so.
I mean, I can at least coach her through this, you know.
She's the right age.
As a friend, you've got to be a good friend.
Yeah.
And that is being a good friend.
Okay, there we go.
How old are you, Brad?
Yeah.
How old are you, Brad?
29.
Oh, she's 26.
Perfect.
There we go.
Just, yeah, have her call me.
All right.
No, seriously, though, she's being a good friend by reaching out and help.
She wants some help.
What does she do?
What would you do?
Yeah, I think it's very tough.
She said they dated for three years.
Yeah.
And he cheated on her.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's a delicate.
It's a fine line there because, you know, it's a delicate situation where you're like,
I haven't been in those shoes before, but I've seen that happen.
And first off, can I swear?
Yes, yes.
Fuck that guy.
I say it all the time.
But you got to tell your friend like, fuck him.
But you have to be delicate because there's a three-year relationship.
But it's six months.
Yeah, I know, but it's like people, yeah, you got to be tough love, but be comforting after that.
You know, like, hey, just lay it all out there.
You don't have to be shy about it and just said, look, what he did sucks.
You can't go back to him because he's just going to, you know,
use that again. He already betrayed your once. I don't care if he's changed, but he already
messed you over once. We've got to find something else because there's better people out there who
won't do that to me. And you're worth more than that, right? I love that. I love what you just
said, but also I would say to my best friend, I would say, you know, lying here and moping and just
feeling horrible, do you realize you're giving away all your power to him? He doesn't deserve it. He doesn't
deserve it. He doesn't deserve
your bright light that you're letting
him extinguish your bright light. Don't let him do
that. And also anonymous
you're saying I don't
want to rush her. You are not
rushing her. Six months is
plenty of time to mourn.
Now it's time to get it. You have to take that
first step. Yeah. Yeah. That's the hard one
but you let, hey, at least go on
one shitty date where the guy doesn't ask you any
questions and really talk about.
And then you'll be like, all right. Now we're
See, that's the problem.
She, I'm guessing, it's funny, you said that, Brad,
because I'm guessing she thought this was her guy.
She already had picked out her wedding gown and what style engagement when she's
crushed.
She's crushed.
And so exactly what you're saying, she's probably exactly saying that to herself,
oh, you know, I don't want to go back out there, men are shit.
You know, they lie, they cheat, they steal.
You know, I don't want a shitty date.
That's probably exactly what she's saying.
Right.
And that's a weird age, too, like 23 to 26.
It's like, you just.
left college, you probably like, well, I got, I got my guy now and we're going to carry on
my life's beginning, yes, yeah. But you don't realize it's like 26th is a great age of there.
I'm only three years removed from it. But some good problems out there. She's got to start
loving herself again and not blaming herself and no how shallow that asshole is. Oh, yeah.
Fuck that guy. Send his address. And I would just hope that that guy, it happens to him.
Yeah. They sit back and laugh. But never take them.
Does it? You think it does, Brad?
I feel like, yeah, I mean, I feel like especially because the kind of people you attract doing that kind of stuff, that if someone's openly willing to do that with you, I mean, who knows.
Oh, see, I don't, I think exactly the opposite. I think, I don't know where this is coming from, but I just feel like men who cheat typically have really nice, decent girlfriends.
And that's who they pick because they want to be cared for and take.
care of and they then they're going to cheat on them it's the bitchy girls who guys don't
don't know if i'm right or wrong it just feels you might make sense yeah it does seem to happen
to well the bitchy girls would be like i'm going to flick you like a flyer out of here yeah the
bitchy girls would you know he wouldn't dare do it he wouldn't dare do it no it's too great
so is the lesson here to be a bitch if you're a girl i guess so you've got to have a little bit
of being it my mom is my mom is very sweet and i love her to death she's got it in her oh yeah
She's got a little bit.
I mean, I've seen her when she has to be the top dog.
Well, yeah.
We are women.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, if you guys would just learn to follow the leader, us being the leaders.
Right.
We've got to follow the line and then life will be easier.
Oh, God.
All right.
All right.
All right.
All right.
Now, we're going to play a little game.
We're going to ask some fun questions.
And this is so the listeners will really get to know you.
ready what would be the name of your autobiography dumb luck i like it why tell me why i you know
i just find myself in in pretty decent situations here for no good reason so i think it's a lot of
your attitude towards life is why it helps you know yeah so i try to like i said give out some
kindness but i get rewarded here and there like i just found myself on on the bachelorette when i wasn't
even searching for that.
So how did you get on there?
How did that happen?
My best friend, so him and his wife watch it religiously, like all, all, every season.
And one day he asked me for a picture and my email.
And I, I'm like, all right.
He did it.
He just submitted me.
And then, you know, I completely forgot about it.
Then one day, you know, I get a call.
I'm like, the hell is this.
And then.
Were you mad?
No, I just thought, I completely forgot.
And I was laughing because I'm like, I can't believe that this is happening.
It was so excited.
You don't regret doing it?
No, not at all.
No, I think I know the answer to this question, but who is someone that inspires you?
Yeah, probably my parents, both of them.
He did a good job.
Oh, I wouldn't.
But I just looking back, my dad taught me, has taught me, and I make fun of them for a lot of stupid lessons in my life that I think when I was watching football games with him, he would just look over and I was like five to seven.
would say something that would stick in my brain.
Now I have used to this information.
But you talk a lot of good lessons.
And my mom taught me you can be kind and still be a bitch.
Yep.
Wait,
I want to know what's one of the best lessons your dad taught you?
One of the good ones was just kind of like I said earlier being kind of people
because you never know the effect it's going to have.
Okay.
And kind of going out of your way to be friends with people.
Maybe that are having a tough time and, you know, like maybe someone that would be considered
a nerd.
or a band kid or maybe they are really into academics
or they're just getting bullied a lot.
They're not in the cool crowd.
Yeah.
You know, being in athletics,
I was in a small school.
So I got to rub shoulders with a lot of people.
But just I think the biggest thing for me coming off the show
was seeing comments from people that I knew
and maybe wouldn't consider a friend,
but acquaintances or rub shoulders with and knew them briefly
and saying nice things about me.
Happy for you.
It's like, oh, it made me realize how just being tied to someone,
in a small moment can impact them for,
and they don't have to say this thing about me.
Okay, wait, did you ever get in trouble?
Did your dad ever have to, like, discipline you?
Your mom?
I was a dickhead when I was a kid.
Yeah?
What did you do?
Give me an example.
Didn't clean your ears of.
I mean, I shaved my eyebrows off, so you know how I was.
Why did you do that?
Oh, it was, I was in fifth grade,
and it was the day before picture day, which is the worst.
Oh, my God.
And so we lived in an A-frame house in the mountains.
So we had one bathroom.
and that was in my parents' room.
And the night before, like, I was like,
I just thought, for whatever reason, I had a unibrow.
I didn't, but I didn't know how to shave.
So I just threw shaving cream all over my forehead and just started going at it.
And then I realized I nicked, like, too far on this side.
So then I tried to even it out.
And until I had, like, maybe.
It looked really weird.
Oh, look bad.
And, and I remember why she didn't see me right away.
I hit it that night.
And I went, I went to school thinking I would know him.
would notice and everybody was like what is wrong what is wrong with your face have my hood up and
i remember crying during the day because everyone like all my friends were like what an idiot what are you
doing do you do and i came back and i thought i thought my dad would be just pissed at me he laughed
oh he started crying in front of him because he was laughing his ass off at me just took me for a walk
we went we went to the park and he was just talking oh you have a good family we'll grow back in
in a couple of weeks and my mom thought it was hilarious
And we've got student IDs then, and she kept it.
She has it in their door.
I would definitely.
I love your parents.
It would be a big picture in the house.
I mean, that is so good.
Okay, what is your idea of a dream vacation?
Anywhere where he doesn't have to get on an airplane.
Can I teleport?
If I can teleport.
How about a boat?
Do you like cruising?
I don't know.
No, I don't need boats either.
I don't like boats either.
I like boats on a lake.
So me and my friends go to, if you're familiar with the Poconos in Pennsylvania.
So we go up there once a year.
I've got two separate friend groups.
So we do that.
That's your dream vacation.
That's your dream, like?
Yeah.
Anywhere in the world, you want to go to the mountains and the Poconos in your hometown, the same state?
Yeah, I'm a simple guy.
At least get up to New York to the Catskills.
I mean, you give me a kayak and a beer and I'm in heaven.
Come to Austin, Brett.
I've got a two-man.
kayak on Lake Austin, I'll kayak with you.
I've heard great things about
Austin. Oh, man. You will go
kayaking. I was surprised.
All right.
I didn't grow up here. I didn't grow up here. I grew up in Massachusetts
but I like Boston.
I've been in Boston. That's one from right outside of Boston.
It's cold. Yeah. It is a little cold.
It's very cold. Okay, given all the
music albums on your wall,
what was your favorite band or musician when you were in high school?
High school.
Oh. Or currently. So long ago.
currently right now my favorite band is a band called camp that is c a amp and they're like a little mountain music a little banjo i just got a good heary voice oh wait a minute okay did you you're too young when i was do you like jug band music junk band jug band jug oh yeah yeah like a little mountain you do you remember like jim queskin is yeah do you ever heard that name jim queskin i was back of my day he was a job oh he was great music i like jim music i like jim queskin i like jim queskin i've ever heard that name jim queskin i don't know the name but i know junk music i like
Like I grew up on Johnny Cash, Johnny Cash and those guys.
So I really like Johnny Cash and his, it was a good mixture.
Like, you know.
Who's your modern?
Who's your favorite country modern artist?
Oh.
Pop country.
Pop country.
I'm not.
I'm not the big of pop country.
People aren't into pop country.
Yeah, I'm not really into pop country.
I'm okay with it.
It gets the job done, you know, if you're drinking a beer or something.
But I do like Luke Combs if we're talking pop country.
Okay.
People compare to that I look like him.
Yeah.
You resemble him a little bit.
Oh, no, you're better looking than Luke Coe.
Thank you.
I think he's a great guy, though, but just in case it gets back to him.
Oh, I'm sure there's a guy by the name of Charles Wesley Godwin that I really like.
Oh, I have to listen to him.
He's a West Virginia guy, he's a West Virginia guy, he's got some good, some good music.
All right, Godwin.
He's got a love song.
I'm a sucker for a love song.
Oh, please.
But he's got a good bit of those.
I almost said hopeless, Kathy.
I almost said hopeful.
Godwin is his last name?
Yep.
Yep.
Okay.
G-O-W-W-G-D-W-N?
Yep, that's him.
Got it.
So I don't know if you had a chance to get close with any of the men on the show,
but if you had to pick three guys from your season and you were going to be on a deserted island,
who would they be?
Are we talking for entertainment or survival?
That's up to you.
That's up to you.
I'm taking Hakeem either way.
and I know he's going to watch this
I would do I love Hakeem
so I'm bringing Hakeem
but to he
to keep your spirits up right
yeah I don't and maybe to keep me grounded
you know
and just from the fact that he'll
out talk me too
but it's entertaining it's good stuff
he has good points but I don't know how much
he's going to help survive
you're going to help
Can he pour you a beer though if you can find a beer
yeah
he's got the effort though
I'll give him that he would try
man
you know
I think of bringing Spencer
I'm a big Spencer fan
okay
Spencer's got a good attitude
Spencer's got a good
he's got the enthusiasm
he's got the kindness
a good kind of heart
but I've also seen him
when he's pushed to not being happy
he's able to snap back
well that's like being Italian
I mean yeah
yeah
all right we need one more
I'm gonna upset somebody with
but you know whatever you do it's always gonna you could say wait brett you could say just just give you
an out here you could say you know i can't really pick a third guy so instead i'm going to trade one
guy for susan and kathy take that i can do that yeah yeah let's do that you're welcome you're welcome
you lock it in but i'm going to make you get on an airplane baby all right you know what i'm
i'm over it i've gotten over it the way in was like the first flight out to l.a was kind of where i was like
well, I'm going to die.
Oh, no, no.
And then the way back, it was a little easier.
And then the second flight out for the tell all, that was like, I'm an expert now.
I know.
There you go.
It's the same thing.
I didn't drink anything.
I didn't eat anything.
I didn't use the bathroom.
Did you sleep?
Nope.
I can't sleep in like, I can't sleep on cars or planes or anything like that.
I'm not a good sleeper.
I just sat there.
Well, while Brett is thinking about trains, planes, and what is it?
Trains, planes, and trains, planes.
Oh, shoot, I can't remember.
No, there's a line.
Trains, planes, and, well, I blew that one.
I can't remember.
And since I blew that one, we're just going to end it here.
Planes, trains, and automobiles.
Thank you.
I had came to me.
Planes, trains, and I.
You've never heard that?
I've heard that.
Wait, before we wrapped up, I've one more.
Okay.
I want to know his ideal first date.
Hmm.
she has to be upright
she has to be verbal
do you like the city girl
she wants to drink a beer
yeah
she doesn't have to though
that's okay
no I mean if she's drinking
you'd like a beer
yeah yeah yeah if I'm
I would like a beer definitely
um
oof
I'm so bad at the first date thing
I'll be asked
and when I get there it's good
you know I can just be me
and be cool
but planning it is one of the
Call us,
Susan,
we got to wrap this episode
but you and I are going to get on the phone later
and we are going to plan a date for you, Brett,
we're going to make it happen.
We can't go wrong with the brewery,
maybe some darts.
I've learned that I'm okay at darts.
I like that.
You know,
like to like to like mine.
The axe throwing.
That works.
Yeah.
Something to do that you just don't think about
you're doing.
Just talk at the same time, you know?
Yeah.
Because when you're just getting down,
like if it's dinner,
That's great, but you're just, it's just.
You don't have to dinner, but it's conversation, you know.
You can't be afraid of conversation.
You just can't be.
Okay.
I don't think, yes.
I'm just afraid I'm going to say something stupid.
All right.
Well, thanks, really.
Thank you, Brett.
We had not met before, but you are as lovely and funny and kind as we heard you were.
