This is an I-Heart podcast.
I'm Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman, host of the psychology podcast.
Here's a clip from an upcoming conversation about how to be a better you.
When you think about emotion regulation, you're not going to choose an adaptive strategy
which is more effortful to use unless you think there's a good outcome.
Avoidance is easier.
Ignoring is easier.
Denials easier.
Complex problem solving takes effort.

I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different.
What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
Answer, a new podcast called Wisecrack, where a comedian finds himself at the center of a chilling true crime story.
Does anyone know what show they've come to see?
It's a story.
It's about the scariest night of my life.
This is Wisecrack, available now.
Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
I just think the process and the journey is so delicious.
That's where all the good stuff is.
You just can't live and die by the end result.
That's comedian Phoebe Robinson.
And yeah, those are the kinds of gems you'll only hear on my podcast, The Bright Side.
I'm your host, Simone Boyce.
I'm talking to the brightest minds in entertainment, health, wellness, and pop culture.
And every week, we're going places.
in our communities, our careers, and ourselves.
So join me every Monday, and let's find The Bright Side together.

What is up, Bachelor, Happy Hour?
Welcome back to another week with me and Michelle.
And it's some big news this week because, Michelle, we are actually celebrating our 150th episode, which is crazy to this.
Wait, what?
I did not know that.
150 episodes.
It's so wild.
I mean, I know you're fairly new.
I didn't start from the very beginning of Happy Hour.
I came in a few months late, but 150 down under our belts.
And, I mean, it's crazy to think that the next time we're celebrating will be 200 episodes.
That's wild to think about.
I mean, I can't even take credit for even, like, a snippet of that four episodes.
It's so crazy, though, because I feel like,
I was thinking about this.
I was talking to somebody like a couple months ago.
They were like, well, when's the 100th episode?
And I'm like, oh, we bypassed that.
Like, I didn't even think about it.
So we, of course, had to celebrate this one.
So thank you to everybody who has been listening.
A huge thank you to anyone who's been here since the very beginning.
One thing I want to say is at Bachelor Live on Sitch because we do meet and greets every night.
We meet fans of Bachelor Nation.
It's been really fun to meet a lot of them.
And so many of them are fans of Happy Hour.
and it's fun to just chat with them.
So thank you all for tuning in each and every week with us.
Yes.
I'm so excited to be back.
We have a lot to cover today.
And we get to bring on our special guest, Hannah Godwin.
I got to spend some time with her this past weekend.
So you ready to get started?
I'm so ready.
Yeah.
It's so funny you saying her last name because I still refer to her as Hannah G.
I mean, that's how everyone I think knew her.
And I actually just messaged her a couple days ago to ask her a question.
And I was like, I truly don't even think I know her full last name until you just said it.
It's funny how that works, though, just like with people going on the show when there's two people, is like that is your name.
Even because we had like Serena P and Serena C, I think, right?
It was the last, I don't know.
It seems like so long ago.
Right?
And even when both people are still not around, you still call Serena P.
Serena P. It's like she could just go by Serena, but I know. Well, that was like me on Ari's season
because there was me, Becca K, and then we had Becca M. And so for the longest time,
even once Becca M was gone, I was like, can I drop the K? Like, I was going to say,
when did people truly start dropping the K? I don't know if they ever fully did, to be honest.
I mean, I feel like it's still there sometimes. Not as bad as it once was, you know, from a couple
years ago, but I feel like it's just part of us now. Yeah, you know, I just own it. But Michelle,
let's get into just the top of this episode before we bring hand on because so much went down
this past week in the world of Batchar Nation. I feel like we have slow weeks and then we have
crazy weeks and this was a crazy week. I mean, not only did we have like this whole big issue
between Clayton and
some TikTok star
we've had
comments being made about
people in paradise who
still are reflecting on their
time and apparently
Thomas was served up to me
on a platter
which made me laugh
there's been a lot of
a lot of weird ass shit being said in this world
and I feel like every day I'm waking up and I'm like what the hell
is going on? Okay you want to know it's really funny
what are your thoughts in this
served on a platter because any time somebody says that, I think of Rick.
Truly, true.
But we're not talking about Rick.
We're not talking about Rick.
I don't know if those were the exact words, but basically somebody in this world said they gave Thomas to me in Paradise, which I'm like, the last I checked, Thomas is a grown-ass man and can make his own decisions.
But if you want to think that, go for it.
I don't know.
It's been weird.
Every day, there's like a new weird-ass headline that I just can't keep up with.
like lately my give a shit level has been at a zero because I've been so exhausted that I'm just
like what else do people what other weird stuff do people have to say these days what you got
throw it at me you mean you're not like holding Thomas in that relationship against his will
I don't know I don't know yeah no that was funny we had a nice little chuckle about it but
Michelle there's been other fun stuff that has that has happened in the past week for instance one of
my best friends, Tia, got engaged during one of our Bachelor live shows, which was so exciting.
Did you have, like, did you know that it was going to happen?
Did you know that he was going to propose?
Yes, yeah.
So he had, um, he, we had been talking for about three weeks, I would say.
It was like, honestly, it was very random.
I was not expecting anyone to want to get engaged on our stage.
Um, but one of my, one of our mutual friends, Caroline, a couple.
weeks ago came to the Boston show and was like, oh yeah, Taylor has been talking about wanting
to propose to Tia at the Atlanta show. And I was like, really? Okay. So, yeah, him and I started
talking. And at first, I was like, okay, if this is something you want to do, because he's like pretty
shy. I was like, if this is something you want to do, you just need to make sure, like, you're okay
because you're going to be in front of hundreds of people. Like, this is going to be a very public
setting and he's like yeah i want to like put a nice bow on the end of her bachelor like
bachelor in paradise appearances and just so like everyone knows that like you know she's kind of
wrapping it up and i was like okay so we kept talking back and forth he didn't know if he was
going to have a ring in time he texted me finally he's like it's i'm going to get it monday
we should be set for the show the next week and so yeah we just kind of planned it i mean
thomas and i knew and um some of the crew
on the stage new because we had to obviously like reserve time for it because I was like I don't want to do it during like the middle of a show when like everyone's on stage with the contestants and our bachelor I was like I want them to have a proper moment so we had to work through that and then obviously like I was like I do not want to you to have any idea so we played it off that like Taylor wasn't even going to come up on stage he wasn't going to get miced up or anything but yeah it all worked out it was very special she was
completely shocked.
I was going to say she had no idea.
She had zero clue that it was happening.
She thought Taylor was, like, sick in the bathroom before he came out on stage.
She's like, Taylor's lost.
He's sick.
I don't know where he is.
And look, I knew he was getting miced up to come out on stage.
I would have had, I would have been teasing.
I love surprise.
I love when other people are a surprise.
I don't necessarily want to be surprised, but when other people are a surprise.
But, like, I would just been cheesing so hard.
Yeah, it was so cute.
but it was kind of intense
because Taylor walked out on stage
obviously he was miced up so I knew he was
going to say something to Tia
but all of the contestants and our bachelor
were backstage and the
and like the girls before the show
they drank a lot of wine they're kind of loose on our stage
so they were all hanging out backstage
and they all almost like started to try
and run and rush the stage and I was
literally like keep them back
keep the girls back
like hold them because I was like I'm not
going to let these random people
ruined the surprise.
And so it was very, very chaotic.
Oh, Tia is so sweet.
I've been able to talk to her a few times.
And it's just they seem so happy.
They seem like they jumped right into wedding planning too.
Yeah.
Well, and I think they had talked about it before.
Like they had some sort of idea.
But yeah, I feel like, and she's just like such a fun social butterfly
that she probably will have like everything planned soon, like the color scheme.
where they want to do it.
So, yeah, so that was fun.
So one more big shout out to Tia and Taylor.
We love you.
We're so excited to see this new journey for you unfold.
Cannot wait.
And Michelle, one more fun thing.
We saw you and Nate at New York Fashion Week.
You went to the, it was the Sherry Hill show, right?
The bridal show?
We did, yes.
It was kind of a last-minute decision where I feel like all of our trips are.
these last minute decisions, but they end up being the best.
And so, yeah, we had the opportunity to go to the New York Fashion Week bridal version
with the Sherry Hill Fashion Show was so much fun to just be able to see all the different
dresses, be there front row, walk, you know, the little mini red carpet and just kind of, you
know, get into that entertainment mode, which Nate and I really kind of enjoy doing and just,
Wow, blown away by all the different dresses, gets you excited about planning, all these
different things.
And then, you know, Nate is quite the tourist.
I don't know if people know this about him, but he's quite the tourist.
So yes, the fashion show is the main event, but the amount of activities we crammed into
the weekend, we walked like over, well over like 30 miles, just exploring the city and doing
all those little like fun touristy things and Nate has all these fun facts and I was trying
to get him to record the fun facts because they were so cool but he just knows all these random
things about New York and so it was like he was my own little personal tour guide so it was
really fun weekend how did he know so much like did he ever used to live there did he just
Google it all okay so he loves the show Seinfeld so I think that's kind of where like the
obsession started but him and I both watch
a lot of documentaries, but he, like, takes it to a whole other level.
And so, for example, when you go into, shoot, where is it, Central Park?
Not Central Park.
Where the fact that I can't even name it, like, look at what different levels we were on.
The train station.
What is it called?
Oh, Grand Central Station.
Grand Central Station.
Okay, so Grand Central Station.
If you look at the ceiling, there is, like, this block of that looks like this black block.
and basically what Nate said it is
is that years ago they cleaned the ceiling
but they left a little square block
left unclean and it's two inches
of like thick grime
from when like they had all like smoking pollution
like all those different things of just like how dirty it actually was
and it's left on the ceiling
and like so we went and we saw it and it is
there's just like this nasty grimy block
and then everything else is like this beautiful mural
so it's just like little cool fun facts like that
that just I don't know
we're super super interesting and we both love to learn
different things and so
we went to the 9-11 Memorial
we went you know walked the Brooklyn Bridge
we did
all of those different things and so it was a lot of fun
did you go to Ignacio's
pizza at the bottom of the Brooklyn Bridge
damn it no we didn't have the chance
we didn't have the chance but I
like even since we've been back the amount of times
that Nate said like hey let's move to New York
let's move to New York yeah just
I don't think he's going to let up so
We'll definitely probably be back visiting soon.
Yes.
And then that will be on the priority list right there.
Well, apparently on clickbait this past week, Thomas said that him and I are moving there too,
which is actually a fact.
Like, Thomas and I have been talking about moving there for, we want to go for like a few months,
a quarter at least.
So we should all do it.
Okay.
Let's talk about it.
But like you need to keep me up to speed with these things because you're over here trying to convince us to
moved to San Diego and Nate's ass are going to get to San Diego and be like, oh, wait, we decided
to move to New York.
No, no, no.
You should definitely move to San Diego.
That will be home-based.
So we will always be there.
But we just love the city.
So I was like, let's just go there for three or four months just for a quarter and just live it up
while we can.
But would you do it?
Would you want to do it in the summer?
Because, I mean, we were there and it was still freezing cold.
Yeah, I would do it.
Well, I used to live there when I was.
was 25, 26 for a while for work.
And I was there in the summer and fall.
The summer is hot as balls.
And I love to be hot, but it's just like so hot that I think I would like to do the fall.
When the season is kind of changing, it's still warm, but not freezing yet.
And I just, I love like going through Central Park in the fall with everything, the leaves changing.
So I think we would maybe do like starting in September, October, maybe November, maybe even August.
We have to talk about it.
We have to figure out.
We do.
You need to give me tips on how to learn, like, the subway station or, like, all the different lines.
Oh, it's so easy.
No, there's an app.
Everyone says, but, like, I'm like, this makes, I'm directionally challenged.
But, like, Nate and I went the wrong direction several times.
I will also say that I was not the person leading, so, you know, but I'm like, how the heck do you figure out which direction you need to go?
There's, so there's an app that will, it's a god.
send um it's so helpful it's like because i was there when i was 25 26 so like mind you this is
six seven years ago the app was not like how it is these days i was lost all the time all the time
when i was living there back in the day the the updated one is so helpful but you just need to know
like kind of are you going downtown are you going uptown that's your first thing and then
east west like are you headed to brooklyn wherever so um maybe we should do a team trip
I was just going to say, I need, like, subway training, and then let's just put an alert out.
Like, if you see Michelle wandering, like, ask her if she needs help.
We'll have Nate and Thomas be our tour guides.
Nate can give us the fun facts.
Thomas can direct us on the subway.
Perfect.
All find us the good speakeasies and pizza places, and we'll just make a trip out of it.
And then I got to figure out my role because I clearly don't have one.
But yes.
You'll have one.
We'll find you one.
We will find your niche by the end.
But really quick, I want to ask you, since you were at the bridal show, did you get any inspo?
Like, do you kind of know what you want one day when you and Nate get married?
Okay, so when it comes to, like, inspiration of dresses and different things like that, it's always, I, like, there's dresses that I really like and that are really cool or that really edgy or just different, and they definitely catch my eye.
but it's not like I necessarily gravitate towards like one specific style because I'm like
styles change so fast that it's like you know I never want to get my heart set on one specific
style because then you know when that time rolls around and if that style was however long
ago it's like am I really going to realistically be able to find that maybe that's a really
boring way and like too much of a realistic way to think about it but there were some really
like edgy, beautiful dresses that I was like,
this would be really cool for like a bachelorette party
or this would be really cool for a bridal, you know, party and things like that.
And so, yeah, it got me thinking for sure.
There were some really cool, cool spots.
And I'm like, I also think I want to walk in a fashion show someday.
You should.
Yeah, I would have to do practice.
You'd either have to be a show where I can wear sneakers
or I'm going to have to get some type of like walking coach
because heels are not my friend.
You could do it.
Well, I don't think heels are anyone's friends, but you could so do it.
I mean, you have the confidence.
You have like the length.
You're so tall.
You're so beautiful.
I, if you ever do this, let me know because I want to be sitting front and center to cheer you on.
For when I fall on my face.
I will manifest this right now.
No, no, no.
You would not fall.
I need you in the front road to so when I fall, not if, but when I fall, you can be like, get back up.
It's okay.
You're doing great, sweetie.
Well, I'm
Keep going.
I'm glad that you said that you want to walk in a fashion show one day
because we do have a handagie waiting to come on and talk to us.
And she obviously is a model.
She ended up walking in the Sherry Hill bridal show.
So, Michelle, you should just get the pointers from her right now.
Honestly, let's do it.
Okay, everybody.
Let's bring her on.
Michelle, you saw her kill it on the runway this past week.
crushed it. It seems like, yeah, she's, I mean, and she's stunning. She's such a blast.
We had her on a few years ago, actually, on Happy Hour, but it's been quite some time.
A little recap, she was on Colton season back in the day. She went on to find love with Dylan Barber in Bachelor in Paradise.
So everybody, please welcome Hannah Godwin.
Hello. There she is. How are you doing?
Yes, I'm good. How are y'all?
So good. We're so good.
happy to have you here. I feel like I just saw you and I get to see you again. Look in me,
but just to kick it off, it was so much fun to see you completely just on the runway last weekend
as you were walking the Sherry Hill fashion show. That's your second time walking her show,
correct? Yeah. How is it? It was so fun. I felt way less nervous this time, like the first time.
like I was like in the back like putting my dress on like literally shaking just because it's like the adrenaline like I love the adrenaline moment but it was just like you like don't I don't know it's like when you go out and you literally have to perform like you're like oh wait I really literally can't screw this up but yeah this is my second time this time around was a bit more chill and relaxed
you seemed so calm really yeah you seem so calm you know like there's well honestly I kind of was it was weird like I went in the back and I was just like high five
driving people. I was like, let's do this. Like, we got this. Like, I don't know. I feel like if I, like, make other people kind of feel like it's all good, then it makes me feel like I'm all done a little bit. And certainly I'm, you know, kind of freaking out. So I'm glad you to come. Yeah, I know. It was just so much fun. Every time, like, you came out, I was like, oh, there she is. Ah, there she is. You know, you just did such a, such a wonderful job. Your dresses. Which dress was your favorite?
do you remember like I did like a short pink one and it was like sparkly I mean I don't think I would wear that for like bridal stuff I mean that was my favorite but it was just like I don't know it was like different with like I had like fuzzy straps and it was like I don't know I just it felt like something I would like actually wear like to like a fun dinner or something right I like and it was easy to walk in so I feel like that's and it was the last oh I think it was the last look I did so I was like at that point I was like comfortable so for
all those reasons. Definitely. How many looks do you do? So it just kind of depends. They gave me five
looks this time. And like, like, busy. Yeah. But I think it, I think it just depends, you know,
like with what sizes and all that kind of stuff. So, yeah. So being in being in that mindset of,
like, being around all these bridal gowns and these dresses and everything, did that, like,
spark your inner excitement that you already have to what you're planning it kind of did like when
i was trying stuff on like it it was like they were like oh my gosh this one's beautiful like
this one's beautiful on you and then i was i was like oh yeah like she designed it like it's great
great job and then in my head i'm like a wait it does feel like that like like trying on dresses
is literally what it felt like but i was really just i but i was just being like the fit model for it
sort of. So it was kind of cool. And like I feel like it kind of helped narrow down what I like
in dresses, which is cool. Okay. Wait. So I want to know because I just asked Michelle this before
you came on if she got any inspo or if she has an idea, do you, and if you don't want to give away
the details to all the listeners, just tell me to shut up. But do you have an idea of the style that
you're looking for? I'm like, I feel like I'm kind of the worst when it comes to like wedding
details and stuff like I like to think that I have this like exact idea of what I like but
it's really honestly all over the place this sounds just probably so lame but anytime I think
of like the dress I think of like vogue and not not like it being on vogue but just like that
like very like timeless like simple yeah elegant kind of whatever that means like if I look at a dress
and like this feels like or like you know when you're growing up and you look at like classic like bridal stuff like
I feel like that's something I would like because I mean we always like you guys too like it's like we always kind of get to
dress up which was like fun right like and try on these different dresses and go to events and stuff like that
but I feel like bridal like I want it to feel like classic and cool kind of right yeah cool white dress like another time
right wait Becca okay so you've asked both of us what Becca would you say that you're more of like a simple dress person or you want it to be like edgy fashionista not that fashionista can't be simple okay Michelle if you know me you know I'm not a fashionista I know you just launched your sweat line I got it by the way I it's I like truly don't have a style in mind I um even like when I was engaged in the past I had no idea but I feel like I
have an old soul and I always gravitate towards like old eras. I love like the 1920s 30s,
like Gatsby era. Like I just have always gravitated towards that. So I feel like I want something
classic timeless like that, but not like over the top. I don't, I just want something that like I
can look back in 10 years or 50 years and be like that is still lovely like throughout the ages. But
other than that like style, I don't know. Also like,
I spill a lot.
And so the fact that I would have to wear white all night really makes me nervous.
So I don't even know if I would do white one day.
You can have two dresses.
You can do your outfit change.
Oh, which I would probably have to do because I need to be able to like walk and move and
dance and everything.
But I'm getting ahead to myself.
I don't even have a ring yet.
I need the ring first.
It could be in the work.
It's okay.
I can totally see you with like the like 20s vibe.
like very very classic elegant that would be so yeah maybe when i'm actually when the time comes
i'll get all of you girls together to help me out we got me a lot of help a lot of help we got you
um Hannah i want to ask you too since we're since we're talking about bridal vibes i saw that
you and dylan were just on vacation all throughout your little european adventure were you doing
wedding venue scouting?
Yeah, we looked at a venue, our very first venue.
We're like, we're just going to set the bar like so high, like maybe a little too high.
But like I feel like we were just always curious to kind of see what like a venue in Italy
would look like, or at least like in terms of inspo and stuff too of like any like I kind of
like the idea of like European kind of vibes, I guess.
So we're like, we'll start there.
Maybe we'll like it a lot.
I mean, of course, we loved it.
But logistically, we would just have to kind of talk through to see how that would work.
But at least if we look at that first and then we come to Lake California and we start like looking at other ones,
we can kind of like take bits and pieces and compare it to this beautiful venue that we saw, which is.
Where was it?
What venue was it?
It was Villa Balbiano in Lake Como.
it was just like unreal but that's the only thing is like I think I'm worried I said it a little too high like I got there and I was like hmm okay I get it like I get it but yeah am I gonna get it I don't I don't it's just yeah I was trying to lake Lake Como is beautiful do you feel like you'd be able to have like all of your you know when it's like a because I guess it would be considered destination wedding right do you feel like you'd be
be able to get all of like your friends and family there so if we would definitely have to downsize
if we're doing it like overseas and stuff um which is you know we kind of liked the idea of that a
little bit too where it can just be a little bit smaller and personal kind of but um yeah we would
just have to you know like the only way i'd be able to have is if i can have like my people there you know
okay so then would you honeymoon there or would you hop somewhere else
I mean, we even talked about that.
We were like, do we go there and be stressed with all logistics and somebody's bag being lost?
And then everybody being jet lagged and stuff.
Well, do we just go and honeymoon there and like relax and enjoy it?
Maybe, but we've already been there.
So we marched off our bucket of us.
So we're like, maybe we go somewhere else.
I don't know.
Well, the good thing about being over in Europe is I feel like everything is so much more accessible.
You can hop on train and get to any country.
you could just make an even longer trip and explore other areas, too.
Definitely an option.
Definitely an option.
So it would be a sick hunting, a totally, like, sick hunting moon, too.
Wait, wait.
Go ahead.
You and Dylan go to the Maldives every year, right?
Have you ever considered doing something there?
That would be so hard to have a wedding there, though.
I go with his family.
They have gone, like, every year.
Like, that's just, like, their main vacation.
but I've tagged along twice now I think that would be cool but it's so far away like
it's so far it is so expensive because they import everything it's so far away and the I mean the
jela it's literally like like completely opposite like right now it's like 1 a.m. there like it's like
oh yeah that would be you need to have like your adjustment days yeah so I don't know how people
do it like if you travel like I think you literally have to downsize a lot to even just like really
enjoy it and like make it a vacation for everyone like that's the only reason we would explore it
it sounds like it would just be like I don't know a little less like I guess traditional and
kind of just like a fun vacation for everyone like that's a reason why it kind of stood out to us
like not because it's like oh you're up it's just it's more of like it just sounds nice to like
hang out with everybody and kind of make it a little bit more low key out there and smaller
stuff like that so the whole time that you guys were in europe was it mostly geared around wedding
planning and looking at different things or did you actually get to like do some other activities
yeah no we only did um we looked at one venue while we were there and we were there for like
11 days so the rest of the time we were just hanging out like being goofballs running around
um favorite part like huh favorite part oh
I feel like in Florence, I really, really, really liked Florence.
Like, we were able just to, like, like, we just didn't have, like, a ton of plants.
We're like, if we see this, cool, if we don't, cool.
And we would just, like, get wine during the day, like, meet locals that are sitting next to us.
Like, it was just, like, so chill and so fun.
And we were on our own timeline, which is, like, that's the thing about Europe is, like, yeah, it's like a vacation, but it's a busy vacation.
But we were able to, like, really chill and vacation and, like, do it over.
felt like before which was nice one of my favorite things about watching you is all of the food stories
and i think was it a macdonalds that you went to to rate the like euro version of the food
oh my gosh yeah we did that uh we were where were we it was like right outside of monaco right
or yeah and um it was so interesting i want to try macdonalds in every single country
Like, they have such different menus and stuff.
I posted on TikTok and, like, people were hating on Dylan because he would take a bite before me.
But it's because I, like, told him to, I was like, will you try this for this?
And he was like, yeah.
So it's really bad.
Like, he's not a gentleman.
Like, he's, like, eating before her.
He's canceled.
I mean, Del were joking about it the whole time.
Like, we were just like, Dylan, you're a red flag.
You're walking red flag.
Like, you're just like, we were making fun of it the whole time.
How dare he eat the chicken never before you?
Hannah. Oh, my gosh, the audacity.
Well, maybe, I don't know if it had poison in it. He'd figure it out, right?
He's like testing the waters.
That's what I'm saying.
So it was funny, but I loved, like, trying the different McDonald's and stuff.
But overall, because you went to so many, I'm sure you had way better meals than McDonald's.
I'm sorry I brought that one up.
What was overall the favorite meal you had?
Oh, I, um, I love pasta.
I mean, we got pasta like literally every day.
you have to
I mean you have to
yeah like
so we kind of just like
split everything
I don't know if you guys
are like that but like
me and Dolm we just like order
like multiple things
and just try bites of all of it
every time because I just want to try everything
especially when you're like somewhere new
so we would literally just get like
a pasta a pizza
and a salad and just try it
or like
okay Becca and I have huge sweet tooth
did you have like a favorite dessert
I know, like, gelato's huge.
I've actually never had gelada before, but, like, tell us about you're...
I'm waiting until I go to Europe.
Michelle, I'm waiting.
I'm waiting.
I don't want to just go to, like, you know, like, I don't want to get gelato at a gas station or somewhere random.
Like, I want to go to the spot, and so I'm saving it.
I get it.
But, yeah, did you have, like, what was your favorite dessert?
Yeah.
They have really good, what are those things called?
canolies I was just
they have good canolies I was about to say that
where it's like a flat
a very thin pancake
a crepe a crepe
crepe crepe
crepe crepe
crepe there was this really good
crepe and it was fresh like so
like kind of doughy but not too doughy
kind of crispy whatever they put in that
it was like chocolate it was next level
so good we just ran to there somewhere
and got that so that was
that sounds incredible um okay pivoting from your european trip you and dylan so you actually live
by me and thomas in san diego we have yet to come to your house but you just recently moved
so congrats on that how has the process been how is moving are you finally settled oh my gosh
um i'm obsessed with it here you guys definitely should come over for dinner sometime also michel
you and Nate, whenever you're...
Definitely.
Do you have plans to come to San Diego?
We, no, we will.
We need to make plans to come to San Diego.
I'm trying to convince them to move to San Diego.
Right. And then she's going to move to New York.
No, no, but we're going to always be in San Diego.
We'll still always be San Diego.
But Hannah, this house, okay, because I've seen it on TikTok.
I've seen it on your Instagram.
You know the little, you know the saying that's like, can we hear it for the back
of the dress? Do you guys know what I'm talking about?
Yeah, yeah.
Okay, I feel the same way about your.
balcony. I'm obsessed with your balcony. Like, can we hear of the balcony? Talk to us about it. Yeah,
no, it's like the best. Like every single day, I'm just like, it's just like a dream. The whole house
stuff, it's, it's been great. We're kind of working with like some interior designers and I'm trying to
do some design stuff on my own kind of like figuring out what I even want to do to it. It's already
so beautiful. But, yeah. So that's, yeah. So that's.
all been in the works is like decorating and figure out where things go and so are you fully unpacked
so yes like no more boxes but it's funny we were in the kitchen the other day and we couldn't find
like it's like the logistics of the house kind of like they still don't really have homes for
things and it's like random like in the bathroom even I'm like I don't know where anything really is
and like oven mitts like we were literally like oh i guess we don't have oven mitts anymore
like i don't know where they like quite literally we just couldn't find any we like looked in
all the drawers and we're like maybe it got misplaced like i don't really know so um unpacked yes
do we know where anything is no you got time you got well i want to because you because you weren't
in your last house for super long and you had remodeled a bunch of it like it was beautiful you
you did your whole backyard what made you did you did you
you just want to upgrade to more space a bigger yard or what was like the the incentive to make that new
move so yeah we loved our like last place so much um it was a little bit small like because we both
worked from home so it was like if he had a call or if i had a call like i would like go step outside
and stuff that which is totally fine but it was just in the back of our minds we're like one day
we'll probably like upgrade but not anytime soon our real estate agent who were pretty close with
and she actually was in our neighborhood at the time.
She was like, hey, like, I know you guys kind of, like, loosely mentioned, like, wanting more space eventually, like, somebody actually wants to view your house.
Like, is that something you're interested in?
And, you know, we talked about it a little bit.
Got some details.
The market was just at such a good time.
Yeah.
And we were like, like, like, let's just explore.
We're gone for the weekend anyways, show the house, like off market, whatever.
And at literally the same day, we saw this house.
and it's very rare to find like cool real estate that's already ready and done and a good spot
in San Diego. It's so competitive. And we saw it and we were like, okay, when we get back,
let's just go look at it for fun, whatever. And saw it. We fell in love with it. And we were like,
oh my gosh, like we actually really, really love this house. Like this would be sick. And at the same time,
the house stuff was working out. So it literally was just like, wow. Within a few weeks, we're like,
oh my gosh, we're like we're actually doing this. And I was like crying still. And I was like,
Are you sure this is smart?
Like, are we just doing this?
Like, why are we doing this?
You know, it's like we don't have it.
The moving anxiety kicks in.
We can kind of hop around and play around with it.
Like, that's the fun part of like what we're all kind of doing right now.
I was like, well, we're not like to anything.
We can kind of just hop around and see what we like, you know?
So it was meant to be.
I mean, it is so competitive.
I mean, I was obviously house hunting in L.A.,
but Thomas and I have been looking just very casually in San Diego.
go, it is so competitive, and everything goes like that.
So, I mean, I'm very happy that you guys were able to find this space.
I can't wait to come and see it.
It looks beautiful.
Like, literally any time, for real.
Anytime.
Just let us know.
When I'm back to her, I'm definitely coming.
We might just move in with you and Dylan.
Who knows?
We should take the slumber party.
Like, the boys should all go somewhere, and then we can all just have a slumber party here.
Let's do it.
Let's take the boys out.
Yeah.
Or breakfast break.
and then hang out here. It'll be a time. I'll bring all the wine. Oh, my gosh. This will be
perfect. Let's do it. Yes. I love that.
Hannah, I want to ask you because obviously I was on Paradise this past season and there was a
little break in between the season that you and Dylan met, but it's been three years that you
have both been engaged. I was going to ask you, do you think you'd ever get married again,
like on the beaches of Paradise? But I'm sure you have like bigger and better plans.
Um, but like, how crazy has it been for you just knowing that it's been three years? Like,
who from Bachelor Nation, are you so close with from that season? Like, give me all the deeds.
Yeah. You know, it is so wild. I'm sure with you guys too. Like, if you like really take a step back,
you're like, wait, like this entire experience, like quite literally changed all of our lives.
I mean, that like, awesome people and like the guys in our lives. Like, it's just, it's just,
It really is so cool.
And, like, as much as we used to almost be, like, I don't know.
It's like, I feel like sometimes people almost don't take it seriously that you met somebody on a show, right?
Like, and so Dylan and I in the beginning, we were like almost defensive about it.
We were like, or like making jokes.
Not jokes, but we would just be like, yeah, we met on a show.
Ha, ha, ha, ha.
But really, truly, like, paradise, like that beach in Mexico is so special to us.
And it's like, we do have such a special, like, place in our hearts.
with that and everything um i don't think we would get married there i was waiting for me to say it
europe paradise hey and maybe in mexico like there could be some type of cool tie with that so
definitely an option but um but yeah i don't know if you would get married like on paradise
itself yeah but i would attend another one it was really fun attending one there oh my gosh yes i
forgot you went to when Chris and Crystal got married. I was there and I remember I felt I felt so
bad for you cast because you all looked so freaking exhausted like you know Tia and I roll up because
we were getting like this free vacation to go see our friends get married so we're ready to party
and you all that were filming looked so tired at the tables but I remember like seeing you because
you I think you wore like this cute little red dress and I feel like all the other girls were
crying besides you like there was so much other drama happening and like so many tears being shed
and you were like the only girl there like smiling semi happy to be there well in the beginning
I was like I was having fun but it just went so late and I was already so tired because I had like
the previous nights we were up really late and stuff where I had like a date before or something
like that and yeah I remember one of those interviews it was the most tired I've ever been I like
I closed my eyes and I like briefly started dreaming and I woke up
And I was like, oh, wait, I'm like this tired.
In an interview.
I've experienced that.
I don't know if we would get like married in paradise.
But yeah, it is weird that it's been like that many years now.
It is really wild.
Have you still been like, do you and Dylan still watch?
Like, do you still tune in?
Do you still follow the show?
Do you have like people that you want to see walk on the beach?
Yeah.
So I need to watch a.
marathon of
last season
Clayton season? Yep.
That's where we were moving. Get your wine ready.
Yeah, like I heard it
ended up being like really crazy.
I feel like literally just marathon it
because I feel like if you don't
start, if you don't like commit
then you just like
or if I don't commit then I like
stop watching it. So I need to like
sit down and watch through it because I heard.
it ended up being really crazy.
But I'm totally going to watch Paradise this season.
Paradise is so good.
Paradise is way more entertaining personally to watch just because there's so many
storylines.
Like, you know, I of course love watching the show just to get to know, like, the leads
and the contestants, but like Paradise is way, way, way more entertaining.
So much messier.
Because you know, you know, like, some of the backstories that are coming in.
If you've watched, like, Bachelor, Bachelorette, but then also at the same time,
it's like it just applies to so many other people just because you can get invested in like this love story this love story this drama but like you have so many options there's so many possible combinations yeah we know anybody who's going on yes or wait yes speculations i know way too much i don't say anything i know way too much Becca blink twice
If it's so-and-so.
Oh, my gosh.
I, well, because I'm obviously doing tour with some of the guys right now that are potentially
going on.
And so I hear like the backstories, which I want to ask you, Hannah, because you went
on a season where there was like a lot of conversations happening pre-Paradise, right?
Like, people were sliding into each other's DMs.
Like, there was that whole, like, love triangle with Blake.
Yes.
And so.
it was that one okay and so that we kind of saw that in the last season of paradise too with like
Brendan and piper and some other couples so and i want this for the record because i feel like no one
ever listens when i say like don't start talking to somebody until you're in paradise because
it will get you in trouble what is advice that you have for anyone going on paradise who is
potentially already sliding into dms or wants to slide in the dms like what is your advice for them
Um, just don't reply if they slide into your DMs.
I think it's just the best way to do it.
But it's that weird thing where you're like,
I want to be cool and chill and friends and you're kind of part of this whole new crew.
And you don't know if it's like a friendly thing or what.
And yeah, you might even have a little bit of a fresh because you're like,
ooh, whatever.
I think there's too much room for error if you like are talking with them too much.
And like, if there's any weird, sketchy,
like, oh, I'm going to choose you.
Like, that is where it's like, just don't do it.
And don't even have the thoughts to do it and like stuff like that.
I felt like for me, I was just kind of like, like, hey, yeah, what's up?
Like, keep trying to keep it light.
And I would tell my mom, I was like, yeah, I don't want to like lead anybody on.
Because I also don't want to go in to this entire experience and like waste my whole summer,
you know, and what if there's like a really cool guy there, right?
So I was, like, Dylan would, like, DM me occasionally and stuff like that.
And I remember I was like, oh, he seems funny and cool.
But it's like, I, like, but, but it's funny because you're signing up for this show
because you're single and you're interested in these people.
So you're like, that's truly how you feel is that you're like, oh, like, this is kind of cool.
But advice I would give.
Catch 22.
Just like, don't do it, you know.
Dylan DMD a few times.
That's hilarious.
Well, you just so.
It just too much room for error.
and people get getting hurt and stuff like that.
Like maybe a quick hello if you see somebody,
but I would even go side hug.
Hey, I'll see you there.
See you there.
I'm like, period.
Because side hug and ghost until you're walking down steps.
That's what I'm trying to tell the guys right now
that are potentially thinking about going is like,
I know there's kind of what you just said.
Like there's something about like already kind of having friends or like,
knowing people beforehand, especially if you think everyone's already doing it, everyone's
already like talking or like, not even having a plan in place, but you know, just like conversing
beforehand. I'm like, but there's something to be said about mystery and to be the person that like
no one really knows if you're coming down. No one knows like what you're into what you're looking
for. So that's why I was telling the guys on tour with me. I'm like, don't even give names of who you want
to meet. Like keep it so open. Don't box yourself into this little hole where it's like, oh,
You said you wanted to meet one person.
I was like, there's something to be said, and it's more sexy when there's mystery.
I was like, so just...
I agree.
There is, there is.
But I feel like the more and more seasons of paradise that we get into, I feel like it becomes more and more normal for people to, like, have conversations.
I don't know.
I feel like everybody's, everybody talks.
It's almost like I would prefer to walk down without having had a conversation with anybody.
I'm in the same boat as you guys.
But I feel like just everybody wants to just have a conversation so that they know, you know, kind of where everybody's at.
Like, people don't like mystery.
People like being the mysterious one.
But I feel like people don't like being surprised.
Does that make sense?
Yeah.
It causes anxiety.
Yeah, but we need to stop normalizing those conversations.
I know.
We do.
I agree we do take everyone's cell phone away and I think it makes it more enjoyable and stuff like that but it is weird because you run into people where that's not everybody's intention right going on it true so you're kind of like some people go in it with like a strategy and that's what makes it weird because then they may act it may be acting like they care but really it's just this weird strategy to get to the end and that's what people are trying to uncover right but then you're like oh wait so they're
talking before now and then you're like well I want to actually have a conversation with them because
I actually think they're cool and so if it's just all would you say everybody just sign a little like
right if you're listening stop talking to anybody so that we can get a good genuine season okay
but do you think majority of people like you'd say more people talk than people who do not
because you I haven't been down on the beach but both of you guys have been on the beach but both of you guys have been on the
Yeah. Well, but it's not really like, I don't think people like talk, talk, but that is the premise of the show is that you're interested in meeting these people, right? So it is, it's like you're like in real life. You're like, are you just supposed to sit here and be like, no, I'm waiting until this is televised. Like that's a little weird anyway, right? So you're like, wait, but I do need to wait because that's how it should go. But it's, it is, it's that weird blurry thing. But if everybody could just like.
kind of chill and be discipline if somebody if somebody didn't know that you were for points like an
extra day card right like if they didn't know that you were coming on the beach or something like that
you could get an extra day they're like oh I don't I really don't know who's coming here like if you
like really kept it a secret or something then you could get like an extra day card at the end or
something like yeah I think like there's something I mean because everyone talks right like even
before I went down in Paradise.
I had met a lot of the guys on the podcast.
So we had had conversations.
I think there's a difference between talking to somebody cordially, you know, and liking
them from whatever season they were on versus now it seems like guys, and I'm not going to
name names, but some guys I've seen from recent seasons, cough, your season Michelle
cough, they're like already naming names, like saying like, oh, I want to meet this person and
this person.
And it's like, but open yourself up to so much.
many more people because now people hear you they're going to see that and put so much pressure on
so and so and so and so and guys are already thinking people are off limits because some other
dude said he wanted to date this girl or like meet this girl it's like it's a free for all like
a you can't call dibs on anyone and so stop doing that and be like I don't even know what my
next point was but it just seems so calculated now where everyone's asking like who do you want to
meet on Paradise who do you think you have a fit for and then like people thinking like these
girls are already spoken for so they can't go for them which I think to you feel like from talking
to people you feel like it's coming off like other contestants who may be on in Paradise
feel like there's other people spoken for to wow did that make it any sense no it made sense
and I went to say yes yeah yeah yeah wow because there are girls who like with from some of the guys
that I've talked to here, there are girls who
are obviously going to be like
first, one of the first people
on the beach, stunning, well
spoken, funny, like, hot
commodities. I don't want to call somebody a hot commodity,
but, like, you know,
somebody that will be highly
sought after, and now
some of the guys are like, oh, well, you know,
so-and-so already, like, called
dibs on her, so I don't want to,
like, you know, step on anyone's
toes, and I'm like, that's what the show is
about, though. Like, you have to date around to
see who you like who you gravitate towards yep and that's the weird thing of people coming in
at the like towards the end too like you know where it's like people already have relationships
and it's just like it's a mess right that's why it's you know that's why i'll be tuning in
okay hannah we're going to do monday nights together we're going to watch the season together
and drink lots of wine i'm down watch this um i was going to say this shit show
hopefully it's on a shoot show but watch it unfold it'll almost be one but i'll be there tuning in hey
it'll be a good good one like there's good shoes good good shit shows and bad shit shows but i i feel
like this is going to be a good one so it'll be entertaining for sure who are you and dylan still
super close with um so i just saw katie the other week which was awesome um we hung out with rachel
and matt there's so katy morton yeah katy morton i love katy morton i love katy
more and yep um demi keep in touch with her um and yeah we i i really really um matt is like
so cool and so nice we saw tyler briefly while we were in new york um you guys obviously
and stuff but it is funny like the further you get out of like being on the show and stuff
like it's real life at that point yeah but i feel like with anybody like i even i see
calen a good bit and caylin oh i saw cassie too um you see people right and you like hang out with
them and stuff like that um honestly i'm just literally always gone so it's always hard for me to
be like yeah that's all hang out you're traveling so much yeah um always on the go a ton of people
from the show. Like, I feel like, I made so many, like, awesome friends. Yeah. You are incredibly
busy. One of those things with being busy is you created an app. I did. SETI. It's called SETI.
SETI, yeah. Okay. And then it was just featured on, like, the Apple's app of the day for Women's History Month.
Okay, wait, tell us what does the app do? That was awesome. So I, like, grew up loving photography. I was, like, a video.
photographer, photographer, and everything like that.
Went to school wanting to study it,
switched gears into marketing and all that kind of stuff.
But yeah, I was, it was always kind of like in my head
that I wanted to sell like some really cool, like,
like just kind of have like a platform for like highlighting what's already there.
I feel like so many of these apps and stuff these days,
like change how you look and alter things.
And it's like this weird world.
And I'm like, you either go that route or you're not, like, being creative at all.
So I wanted to kind of combine being, like, creative and confident and make it super easy and accessible to do.
So that's kind of what I did.
And SETI happened.
The name came.
I just like the name because it's like preset.
So I got a fun.
Yeah.
So I've been able to kind of do that.
And really the goal is just to kind of like simply put like help people feel like the main character a little bit.
Like there's so much chaos going on.
There's so much things going on on on social media, but just making it like an easy tool no matter where you are.
Like I was in Alabama making buildings look like I was in New York City sometimes with like creativity and stuff like that.
But just like literally no matter where you are like study is just there to like, I don't know, help you kind of like highlight what's already there.
I love that. I'm so proud of you.
Thank you.
I'm about to go download it real quick.
I'm surprised it all came together.
It takes so long to develop and all that stuff.
I have great team of developers and everything like that.
But we're so much back and forth, but it's here and I love it.
You did it.
It's here. Everybody go check out the SETI app.
Well, and speaking of social media, I mean, both your TikTok and in
Instagram are fire. What do you prefer these days?
Oh, I scroll on TikTok for so long. I don't know if you guys do. I, I'm a big
scroller on TikTok. I'm like, I mean, I'm 27 years old, but I'm really annoying and I like
say TikTok quotes all the time. Like me and Dolan will literally just end up like it's next
level like all the time. We're just like quoting random TikToks like we're in middle school.
but here I am doing it, loud and proud.
But yeah, I really like TikTok.
I love Instagram because I feel like it's just like fun to like see what people are up to and photos.
And like you can kind of be more creative.
Well, they're both different types of creative, right?
Like you can do like photo creative or you're like inspired by it and stuff like that.
And then TikTok is like depth like funny or tutorial based and stuff like that.
but it's so entertaining
but yeah it sucks you in
that's for sure it really truly does
like too much like I have to delete it sometimes
yeah I'll be like I still
I say this every week I still don't
fully understand TikTok like I'm trying to be better
but I really just need somebody to like sit down
for 17 hours with me and be like this is how it works
here's what's good what's not good
but I'm trying I'm trying my best I just have to I think
scroll more
yeah give us
give us some
TikTok tips
Hannah
oh gosh
I'm probably not the person
you guys should be asking
because mine are just
so random and weird
a lot of the time
a TikTok
or give us like
one big do
and one big don't
so I don't
so I don't
if this is a huge don't
but it's funny
I find that
that if my videos have a really strong filter on them that they don't do well.
I've been doing no filter.
And it's just funny because I have like a preset app and stuff like that.
But I feel like if it just literally looked so effortless and in the moment that that does kind of better.
And I don't know.
Maybe we'll feel like they can relate more to it and it's more casual.
Was that a do and a doubt?
I feel like it was.
Because it makes sense.
Yeah, we'll take it.
Totally more relatable, right?
It's like, gosh, always showcasing perfection.
And people say to post all the time, but gosh, it's so hard, you know, like.
It's very, yeah.
Right.
Content and put yourself out there.
And I, like, we'll look at stuff and I'll delete it, like, after three hours.
I'm like, what am I even doing on here right now?
Story of my life.
Living your best life, Anna.
Well, speaking of what you are doing, before we get into our Rosent Thorn with you,
what's next for you hannah like any big projects in the works anything you're excited that you can share with us um
maybe maybe some like a product kind of thing i think that's my next step okay early stages but okay
definitely mysterious well we'll have to all follow along to see what it is yeah I'm mysterious like if
they're watching just be mysterious exactly everything will love it what happens stay tuned but yeah so that's
I think that that's kind of my next thing okay yeah how exciting I love it well we'll have to all
follow along to see what this product is I can't wait yes but before we let you go Hannah we always
share our rose and our thorns
of the week. So basically like a
highlight, your best moment, and then
a low light or messiest moment
of the week. So all started easy.
I'll start it off.
Rose of the week was
probably seen one of my
best friends, Tia, get engaged.
It was such a fun moment.
She was so shocked. So that was definitely
I think the highlight of
not only my week, but probably the month.
And the
messiest thorn moment,
was probably somebody's saying that I was gifted Thomas, which is not the case, so that's it.
Oh.
And Michelle, take it away.
On that note, my rose would be traveling to New York with Nate and just being able to explore that city.
My thorn would have to be, what is my thorn?
this week
honestly just like when you know
that jet lag when you get home
and you're just like
that hadn't drink
drink enough water drank too much
wine little dizzy
nauseated feeling like yeah it's been
you know riding it out this week
I think that's called a hangover
Michelle
it's not okay
only if you identify it as one
I'm a little jet like to
in that case
Hannah what was yours
Rose would be, I mean, New York and getting to walk in Sherry Hill, that was just so fun,
like such a highlight, like, it's going to be one of those just core memories that I like tell
my grandkids about just so awesome. And then Thorn would be like, I love traveling, but the whole
like not routine thing. I and like catching up to like my thoughts even and like what I want to do.
And, like, I just want everything to be, like, the best ever.
And whenever I'm out of routine, it's just quite literally impossible.
So, you know, it's just kind of like getting back in the groove.
But I'll have to do it after Coachella this week because I'm literally leaving.
Yeah, you're going to need some time after that.
Yeah.
Some time to recover after Coachella.
Yeah, but no complaints.
I mean, I've had worse thorn.
So if it's a little out of routine.
team thing. I'll take it. Yeah. Well, Hannah, it has been so much fun. I know you're a very, very
busy woman. So thank you for sitting down with us today and definitely stay in touch. Truly,

I'm Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman, host of the Psychology Podcast. Here's a clip from an upcoming
conversation about how to be a better you. When you think about emotion regulation,
you're not going to choose an adaptive strategy, which
is more effortful to use unless you think there's a good outcome.
Avoidance is easier, ignoring is easier, denials easier, complex problem solving, takes effort.

I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different.
What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
Answer, a new podcast called Wisecrack, where a comedian finds himself at the center of a chilling,
true crime story. Does anyone know what show they've come to see? It's a story. It's about the scariest
night of my life. This is Wisecrack. Available now. Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I just think the process and the journey is so
delicious. That's where all the good stuff is. You just can't live and die by the end result.
That's comedian Phoebe Robinson. And yeah, those are the kinds of gems you'll only hear on my
